people who entirely blame jack for what happened with will didn't watch the same show. as the audience, we see that will isn't sleeping, and that hannibal lied about his stability, and will's blackouts and sleepwalking. we are an outside observer privy to information other characters don't see. jack only knows what is told to him, he can't read minds. he can't know how bad will is doing if will doesn't tell him. he trusts will is a grown adult who will take care of himself. a socially and professionally trusted and admired medical professional tells jack that will is fine! what reason does jack have to not believe that will is capable to not only do his job but make the sound decision to stay or go. why is jack the bad guy here?
and regarding will getting arrested, ALL the evidence was against him. he had no memory and no alibi for the murders he was being convicted of. he was at sutcliffe's office when he was murdered, after hours, when no one else (supposedly) was there. he was the last person to see georgia alive. he knew he went to minnesota with abigail and came back without her, no memory of leaving but the hallucination of having killed her. he threw up her ear. flesh and bone and hair of every victim was woven into his lures, a hobby that everyone knew he had. what exactly was jack supposed to think? was he supposed to ignore evidence? it would be against all logic and common sense to just assume will was innocent. even will doubted his own innocence. ofc we, the audience, knew he wasn't guilty, but jack can't see what we see. he even risked his career, against his better judgment, to help will. he had no reason to, but he cares about will. he cares about him a lot, and a lot more than people give him credit for.
jack cared about will deeply, saw him as a friend, for the entire show. giving him the benefit of the doubt up until the very end. the confidence he has that will is a good and trustworthy person in the last episode gets him mocked for "not seeing will as he truly was" but when he assumes will is a killer in s1 people also get mad at him for not having *enough* confidence in will. which is it?
jack is a good agent, a good friend, and did what he could given the tools he had to do his job. he can't help people who refuse his help (aka will), he can only try so much.
and hannibal is a master manipulator. he played every single character on that show and had them convinced he was normal and safe, sometimes for years. every single person who outright blames jack for everything got as manipulated by hannibal as jack did! because hannibal planted distrust between will and jack, and with the audience and jack. if you think jack is the problem, congratulations, you got played by the villain of the show.

It's wild watching people react to ofmd/make posts about ofmd, who have clearly never watched any dry humour British/Aussie/Kiwi comedies before (Blackadder, Monty python, summer heights high etc) because they expect all of these dark heavy plotlines to have big dramatic soapy conclusions where everyone's crying and sincerely apologizing and hugging. And then they're surprised or disappointed when it inevitably doesn't.
It gets played off with a joke or everyone just immediately shrugs off any hurt or trauma they experienced and move on.
Like, that's the point gang. Subverting expectations, satirical takes on drama and historical shows. Ed caused monumental levels of havoc then Ed flapped his arms and hid under a blanket and all Stede had to do was compliment him now they're good again.
There are shows where one character is actively trying to harm another character at all times and it's played as a joke because it is one. You're not supposed to cancel the character doing the harm because they're a bad person. You're meant to go "Haha they're insane." And move on because the absurdity is intentional.
"It would never happen like that in real life!!" Yeah that's the point. Also it's a comedy show.
I'm not saying these shows aren't capable of powerful moments. If anything these shows are known for their powerful moments. Because they come at times when you don't expect them. I'm not devaluing the emotional impact or the writing. You're just not supposed to take it that seriously. It can simultaneously be a heartfelt meaningful show and also be highly satirical and making fun of itself.
You can gather so much genuine insight and symbolism from these silly little characters and them being absurd doesn't take away from that. Them having intense emotions one moment, then in literally the next scene they're goofing up a storm. The writer's take different avenues to solving conflict that's not dramatic proclamations and biting anger like you'd see in a drama.
Will Blackbeard actually apologize? Probably not lol. It doesn't take away from his character. It's not a cheap cop out. His YouTuber notesapp apology will probably be the only one and his heinous acts will continue to be brought up in the form of jokes bc that's the genre baby.

"Why do you want Jason to keep killing and why are you so down on Bruce for not killing the Joker?? Do you really think vigilantes should take it on themselves to kill people?"
I think that wealth hoarding is an act of brutality, crime is the result of systemic violence and is also a social construct, legality has nothing to do with morality, and all cops are bastards. I think anything that tries to "fight crime" instead of addressing its systemic causes is copaganda, and society's most heinous atrocities on a mass scale is inflicted by the pen pushers in mega corporations and government, in perfectly legal ways. I think that it is the very function of the state as an entity to create marginalization and poverty. I think that having minors as sidekicks, super-powered or not, is reckless child endangerment.
But we have decided to fuck all of that and agree to the conceits of the Batverse, i.e cops are good but underpaid and underfunded, billionaire philanthropy is a thing that exists and Bruce's wealth isn't directly correlated to Gotham's poverty and crime, child superheroes are fine, and Batman doesn't permanently maim or accidentally kill people on a regular basis.
But Batman still doesn't ever resolve anything. Arkham and Blackgate both have revolving doors, organized crime still flourishes. The Joker regularly gets out and murders hundreds of people before being corralled and taken in. Rinse, repeat. It's the same unending grind of real life, except nothing works like real life. Whom is this empowering? Where is the satisfaction or vindication? What is the fucking point?
Given this state of affairs, why is it wrong for real life abuse survivors and marginalized people used to being collateral for profit or ideology, to want our own power fantasy? Why shouldn't Jason shoot rapists, decapitate mob bosses and actually protect and avenge innocent people? Jason, who, unlike Bruce, is a survivor of poverty and abuse himself and comes from the same community he wants to protect. Why is it wrong for him to kill his own murderer and give his audience the vindication and justice we deserve?
And in what universe is it wrong for a child to want a parent that will kill for them?
I suspend both my disbelief and beliefs to engage with the Batverse, but "if you kill a serial killer, you become as bad as a serial killer" is NOT A THING. There is absolutely no moral philosophy or ethical foundation you will find anywhere that will make that a legitimate argument. DC Comics pulled that one out of their ass for the express purpose of trying to justify the Joker's continued existence, which DOES NOT WORK because it has no narrative coherence. It is BAD STORYTELLING to overpower both your protagonist and your Villain Sue, paint yourself into a corner, and then slap on whatever rationale you can to keep that cash cow spinning for decades more.
TL;DR Batman should maybe solve some actual problems once in a while instead of expecting an A for effort, and Jason Todd should get to kill whichever scum of the universe crosses him. The end.

Misrepresentation Blues
Police dramas capture the intense, passionate, and very dangerous work that men and women of police departments and federal agencies deal with every day. Police are trying to prevent or solve crimes 24/7 and these shows present that. But they also have flaws. Race is a huge issue when dealing with the police. With the recent incidents of police brutality like George Floyd (Prater) and Tyre Nichols (Gale General Resources), police dramas have misrepresented race in their shows. Whether it is showing African Americans as gang-bangers or drug lords or having the main police characters in the show being white with no African American police officers; the shows need to act and address their misrepresentation. Shows like NYPD Blue have shown African Americans as most criminal characters and enemies of the detectives of the show who are the “white heroes”. Police dramas misrepresent race by showing colored people as criminals, not showing enough colored people in the police force, and using white cops as heroes.
In the show, Lt. Arthur Fancy is shown as a stereotypical African American police officer. He is tough on his detectives and classically clashes with them. He is always arguing with Detective Sipowicz who is a beloved character in the show. Many real-life officers take offense to how they are represented on tv. “But other more intangible, unquantifiable grievances of black cops don't receive much attention on police dramas either. Reflecting wistfully on the inter-racial esprit de corps on cop shows, Sgt. Ridley contrasts the shows to what she sees as the harsh reality, a "lack of respect" for African-American officers "shown by our leaders, from the commissioner on down"(Moss). Even when African Americans or other colored races are on the “good side” they still are fitted into a stereotype as “hard” or stuck-up. This isn’t accurate as all police officers want to work together and not be in conflict. In NYPD Blue African Americans and other races like Hispanics are usually criminals who commit heinous crimes. Most of the drug dealers and gang members in the show are colored. This also causes the shows to show police violence and brutality playing out against colored people. Viewers then become used to the violence. “The crime genre glorifies, justifies and normalizes the systematic violence and injustice meted out by police, making heroes out of police and prosecutors who engage in abuse, particularly against people of color,” the report finds” (Evelyn). The show has cases where Sipowicz makes inappropriate comments and roughs up suspects of color. African Americans and other colored citizens are mostly law-abiding. They are not gang members or drug dealers who murder and victimize people. No matter race we all want safe neighborhoods for our families to live in. In an episode of NYPD Blue Sipowicz interrogates an African American suspect and the suspect fits the stereotype drug dealer who doesn’t like police. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0SeEI04LiM. Now Sipowicz doesn’t do much wrong but this is a prime example of how African Americans are represented in shows. The suspect is wise with his answers and calls Sipowizc a pig. This is not accurate as most citizens are very cooperative with police and are not confrontational with law enforcement.
Blue Bloods is a classic police drama that follows three generations of a police family, the Reagans. They are the typical Irish cop family who usually leans towards siding with police in conflicts involving race. There are many cases of misrepresentation like in series 2 episode 6 “Black and Blue”. In the episode one of the main characters, Jamie Reagan is assaulted by African Americans and a huge protest ensues and racial tension starts. Another character, Revered Potter is the classic stereotypical civil rights leader who bashes police and thinks he is the next Martin Luther King Jr. The conflict resolves with the police “winning” the issue and justice is served. The representation, in this case, is that Potter is a stereotypical civil rights leader who hates the police. But in reality, many civil rights leaders do disagree with some of the actions and policies of police but do not bash them in the news. Many try to talk and have meetings with leaders in the commands and departments of police to fix the issues. Another issue is the case that the “bad guys” are African Americans and the Irish cops are always the good guys in these cases. “Worse, Blue Bloods has a habit of depicting people who speak up against the police as malicious, manipulative, or deceptive—and a lot of those people happen to be minorities” (Hudson). This is also not true as seen in the news cops can be wrong. In the show, it is evident that it caters more towards police supporters, and in most cases of cops vs. racial groups, the cops are usually in the right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnkp37-nUwA. This promo shows a Hispanic gang that becomes enemies of the police and the Reagan family. Yes, there are gangs that do not like police but how this gang is represented in the show is all too typical. They were bandanas, specially colored bracelets, and certain colors. How they talk is also stereotypical of what people think of how gang members talk. They call each other “homies” and always say man to end a sentence. Not all Hispanics or African Americans are in gangs. Not all gangs fit a stereotypical norm that frankly most white people think. Gangs evolve just like the police do. There isn’t one way how gang members dress or how they talk to each other. Most have their own language or code. But the bigger issue is again how in these two episodes the Hispanics are the “bad guys” and the police are the “good guys”. This is not always true. Cops are not always in the right and they are certainly not always the great “white” heroes. There is also the issue of excessive force. This issue has plagued police departments across the country. In the cases of excessive force on the show, most of the cops that have cases brought against them get very little punishment or are cleared of wrongdoing. One of Frank’s other sons Danny has many excessive force cases brought against him. In his cases, Danny is usually cleared and is actually promoted to the major case squad in Manhattan.
FBI follows agents of the New York field office through a wide variety of cases. Dick Wolf’s show has cases of misrepresentation but it is not as evident as discussed in the previous two shows. Wolf does a great job of having different races, genders, and more in the show. There are colored people on the “good side” or FBI agents as well as cases covering different social classes. Not all the criminals in the show are poor ethnic criminals from the projects or ghettos of New York. Wolf likes to explore and cover the range of crime. Many of the episodes show white people committing crimes and how rich citizens are not above crime. The agents in the show are from all different races and genders. It is unlike Blue Bloods which follows one specific Irish family. There is special agent Tiffany Wallace who is played by Katherine Renee Turner. Turner’s character is misrepresented as an angry African American cop who clashed with everyone and had to leave the NYPD. In the season three episode “Never Trust a Stranger” she instantly clashes with her partner and comes off as cocky and a know-it. Creator Dick Wolf says he tries to be objective but most of the audience disagrees. “All police procedurals, and especially Wolf’s, reinforce the idea that crime is caused by evil individuals, that stopping those individuals is the best way to stop crime rather than looking at deeper systemic causes, that firearms are quotidian sorts of objects, that governmental institutions are imperfect but largely effective in delivering justice, that the vast majority of policing culture is unbiased, and that renegade hero cops disobey the rules in order to do what’s right” (VanAredonk). Agent Wallace fits that stereotypical “rouge” cop. She does what she thinks is best without consulting anybody. Yes, there are political and racial undertones that appear in the show but not at the rate in the two previous shows discussed. In season 3 episode 7 “Discord,” a congressman is shot and the suspects are African American because they were on a watchlist for breaking curfew. This story relates to the events in the summer of 2020. Agent Wallace is angry as she feels that African Americans are profiled and snaps at other agents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8UPiTz4DJw. This episode misrepresents protesters and African Americans. Protesting is a right to all but the fact that only African Americans are profiled is true. But most protesters are not violent and want to use peaceful protest. They don’t fight the violent stereotype that is captured on the news. Most of those people are just there to loot and steal, not caring about the cause. The season four finale was pulled due to the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. The shooter Zach is the classic anti-social white kid based on the Columbine shooters. Most kids I know do not intend to shoot up schools and take their anger out on innocent kids. Yes, most school shooters are single white males but that doesn’t represent most white kids in school.
Police dramas try to highlight the action and intensity that police officers experience every day. Whether on patrol or working a major case, the drama is apparent. This also leads to certain races that are misrepresented. Whether it is African Americans portrayed as gang members or white cops as the heroes or "good guys" misrepresentation is an issue. Police shows like, NYPD Blue, Blue Bloods, and FBI contain these issues and fail to capture the true representation of race.

would have too much to say that inevitably repeatedly breaking things up into tweets wouldn't be a pain but already going back like, lets check out andor episode one again in full true connoisseur mode and i'm not pressed if i make it into a proper in order rewatch, also when the bonus for me is that i'm always more likely to better keep track of names or faces or pick up on something that was supposed to be like a straightforward plot moment or whatever else, right, though i didn't have any especial problem with that. anyways i'm just already like oh this entire first sequence fucks, and i didn't really go into this that skeptically but do remember like yeah first time around it was like with this intro premise alone like ah i see this fucks then
like first of all an initial shot choice that is stylish, which tells us that there will be stylishness. fun that the couple evil [police procedural] characters are great at being pathetic zero charisma soaking creepy & wet disgusting in their own special ways, but cassian is getting rained on all the time he's cutting the plumbing line he swam here soaking wet literal treatment
things feeling figuratively and literally grounded (walking, only seeing that walkway, streetview, no soaring establishing shot to show This Isn't Your Ordinary City (scifi edition)) like, also still clear enough it's scifi but really with the Magical Realism type of approach, which i do imagine i enjoy more
the scoring is so good. BANGER of a track used when walking into the bar, also used later when dropped into the introduction of his beach getaway new life scene, brief as it is. the sexy edm style track, and it Is also like "well i mean. sure then" getting so far into this scene before it's evident like oh you're not actually here to have sex. pretty flirtatious w/this proprieter but it's like, maybe discreetly acting natural, maybe just acting naturally for real and it's just like that, we've all been there re Blend In, Follow Their Lead as a rule for operating anywhere ever, presumably relevant here, the Everyone's Wary nature of the whole series....tbt talking about jyn like yeah idk maybe her brand of wariness that's not charismaticly intense enough nor closed offedly intense enough is like, itself confusing or whatever but absolute "what's not to get or like" sense from me, and naturally cassian cropping up like it's your wary kindred spirit
anyways then having fun in there. looking at the required sexy hologram dancer like hmm they're a little space androgynous. a little space gnc af. the guys who are just immediately pissed off b/c the supposed new customer is getting preference. the delay after the proprieter lady is like Behave to them and cassian looks at her, then them. his immediate brooking no nonsense w/the two as soon as they're all hostile mode at him about all of it, at least in terms of like, not playing it utterly neutral. the It's Political times of him asking about a woman from kenari, proprieter lady going for both a) how about this other planet of origin and [names an inferred similar feature] as well as this kind of establishes already that [from kenari] can be space racially profiled, since cassian doesn't have to explicitly confirm that's where he's from too, and her inferring this is a Preference that can be catered to around physical features, and certainly once cassian's Wanted about this, the urgency around maarva & co asking who they've ever told that cassian's from kenari is sure like ah, space borders, space immigration, space [indeed the racial profiling when the soaking is he creepy or wet pathetic heinous cop pulls up an Image], the repeated like space colonialism and space indigeneity and space resource extraction that gets to come up more with [i've been in this fight since i was six years old] flashbacks....it's great like, the magical realism aspect where it's like [yeah Real Life but slight au] feeling immediately relevantly recognizable and as viscerally dramatic as you'd want, like, everyone's daily lives involving this inherent lack of safety that can turn into the stress of imminent danger on a dime. also the eventual b) asking if he's a Boyfriend or Husband like, space gender, magical realism style where it's like of course the space misogyny power disparity they'd be on the lookout for, might be vulnerable to a partner who is a space man. oh and then also the shift when he says it's his sister he's looking for, from more guarded to sympathetic when it's like, the context then isn't the woman's vulnerability being heightened if this is someone here out of like, a possessive angle, and rather that he's now not only presumably sympathetic to her as well, but potentially some of that vulnerability being extrapolated to him as well. which is not inaccurate
obsessed w/the Long Shot where cassian's getting held up by the two company sentry guys and it's him close up center frame slightly from above and just tearing it up acting while we only hear the other two for a good while until they wander in out of focus, that at first we also can't see and thus can't immediately Know they're talking to him....as well as again establishing like, yeah this is a prequel where we know our protagonist won't die no matter how [people are definitely dying] the situations are, yeah we know he's cool action guy even, but he's not operating in a story here where it's all about his protracted solo epic action sequences, he wants to avoid those, other people want to avoid those, everyone's better off operating more stealth mode if they can help it, but also that it doesn't matter to him that We know he's not gonna die, he doesn't know it, and Everyone knowing those stakes and reacting to the stress rather than being like stoic too epic to be at all fazed badasses. d luna crushing it, everyone's great but yeah sure acting as hell huh
also this time around i was just so much more noticeably affected by like oh i feel bad for this guy who's realizing his buddy who also sucks is dead and now that he's in over his head majorly life and death....everyone acting in every part is just going ham like bevy of these varied performances in varied roles and nobody dropping the ball in the least. while it's obvious too that like, feels bad for the panicky source in rogue one intro as well but cassian can't give much away then b/c he's not the protagonist and it's all very mysterious at this point. and that in addition to upping the surprise, it's presumably nonzero meant to be a kindness from him to take the time to comfort the guy before then blowing him away. whereas here the guy sees it coming and like, really brought this upon yourselves and you made this potentially life or death for cassian from the start, as he was aware, but this time it's like yeah cassian wasn't expecting that to turn into [bad luck, that headbutt killed you. and/or also the fall] and is Not so mysterious to us so can be clearly surprised and less than thrilled about things as well....but feels apropos that also w/ this intro of these two rando sentry guys from the bar who the proprietor was like yeah they're not really cops but they annoyingly like to act like it, it can be a bit more genuinely pathetic vs the Pathetic(tm) quality of the like imperial space feds characters. like oh i do feel bad for this guy and all the time he has here to plead for his life :( but doesn't feel like it's meant to be some [dun dunnn?] moment re cassian b/c it's like, tells us the stakes, tells us he's not fucking around and Will shoot someone but we've also been told he's not like here to be, or feel, badass invincible, is not unaffected by fear of death nor of having killed someone / death in general, but also Will be blowing you away if need be, also speaking to like, he's run calculations before abt like, whaddaya gonna do, what are the risks and which are you willing to take, and obviously has fought before and if he's ever killed someone before it wouldn't be surprising, some like "my god i've never done that before / now i'm out for blood, never look back" factor does not seem to be relevant. but fr was fun to be surprised by like oh i feel bad for this guy this time around lol noticeably much more than affected me the first time around. true [oops in over your head] vibes but which also then speak to like, yeah probably would've stopped pretending to be cops, just feels like yeah he's more distant from [uh oh, attention from Empire cops now] figures so it's like, ah, you bring it upon yourself but. i'm not quite sure what got me this time around lol, again i guess just more ability to focus on details and thee moment b/c i'm not like, needing to intently devote my attention to potentially following names and faces and plotlines b/c it's the opening scene here and don't get lost before things even happen. maybe it's having subtitles on where i'm all the more sure of the dialogue and him talking about "we'll go in together" has me like "there but for your fucking around, no need for this, i remember the vaguely friendly acknowledgment before your egos were bruised and you got hostile about it and escalated it to This" maybe it's even him offering a story and phrasing it like "we played too hard in hitting" when i have this like, vulnerable association lol like if anyone's upset / distressed enough And there's the immediate proximity / presence of something meant to be like, purely fun, where even talking about Playing may be enough to be like oh no lol, even when that's not really what happened. again, the acting from everyone, maybe it's just focusing all the more on that, wherein truly epic seeming distressed and miserable, maybe it also helps that we also get shots of more diego luna acting which is also to the effect of: pretty distressed and miserable, soaking wet. i dunno but i'm like hell yeah being all the more caught up in whatever.
also that this was like, oh a seeming potential thread establishment? and of course "whoops killed two guys" is indeed an established thread, the [looking for his sister] remaining latent as the setup to that inciting event and otherwise like, just something he does, characterization and [backstory thread] relevant, but only that. and yet, the way that opening scenes are generally meant to do, this whole sequence conveying plenty about how things are going to be, establishing overall contexts, thee vibe, that the soundtrack fucks, that nobody's messing around here in the least like. just as these first minutes didn't have to go so hard, so neither will the rest of the series have had to. i also didn't have to say all this or post at all but i get hype and when i have anything to say i really do. no concision. oh shit and we end with like the directional reverse of the first opening stylish shot but w/cassian in frame as well yeahh boyyee
#oh word? concision Is a word?#i know twitter is more so the place to talk about Your Damn Shows but i don't exactly do it correctly even there lmfao#like i said abt the fact having to make this some unwieldy thread over there is more so an inconvenience for Me lmao#if i said shit only b/c i thought it would be relevant to absolutely anyone. like i know ppl righteously Know this series fucks lol but#posting is about following your heart. what tf else am i about to do on my soshe accounts; or Have i been doing#so fun to have stumbled into the path of ''so true? this fucks?'' in that it sure wasn't a guarantee i went & saw rogue one. then rogue 986#(the 985th viewing or what have you lol) then going I See re being aware this series exists; marinating; being readily talked into it if#like months later. somehow i didn't realize it came out...end of last summer??? early last fall??? not like i knew abt it ahead of time tho#thought i was a couple months behind lol but....anyways. love when either media is like oh nice i loved Or hated that in such a way that it#is then the enrichment of ''i could be giving a running [emphatic pointing at laptop continuous talking] commentary constantly here'' lol#anyways when the post exists already like aaaand send. what with it being me i'm certain i could've finished the ep while writing this lmao#the path of A Lot To Say The Hype Drive To Say It The Concision That's Not An Option the Posts Were Always Gonna Be Talking To Yourself And#If That's Relevant To Anyone As Collateral Bennies Then That's Fun But If It's Irrelevant To Everyone Then That Is Life#cinema!!! and it's tv. i'm just so like Yeah the ''this is going to fuck'' is really successfully contained in these initial scenes huh.#i keep calling it a bar(tm) but it's not pretending to not obv be a brothel that also technically sure is a bar#but it just feels kind of either awkwardly technical or [ofc the cops are the ones adding more confirmation calling it a Brothel] lol like.#andor

Okay, so these are the worst endings I can think of for each character (within the universe of what I think is even slightly probable—there’s some characters I don’t think they’ll kill, and some character assassination they won’t stoop to):
Joyce: She continues to act as a sidekick to Hopper, but she doesn’t even have comedic material to work with because it’s the last season and everything’s serious. We continue to learn nothing about her past or her interests. She has minimal interaction with Will, and somehow none with El or Jonathan. One or two of her kids die and she seems only a little sad. She goes out on the note of making a New Start with Hopper and the remaining kid(s). They also make her more of Traditional Good Housewife for some reason.
Hopper: They really double down on making him a renegade cop who solves all problems with violence. He has not learned shit since Season 3. His interactions with Joyce and El are underwritten, and no one ever really acknowledges that he’s close to being Will and Jonathan’s stepfather. He has some interaction with Mike but spends more time validating Dustin or Steve, which is nice but why is that the focus?
Murray: he shows up, flails around yelling at people to kiss, shares a very heteronormative and not very revealing back story (college girlfriend killed by a wheat thresher?) that we don’t really have time for, and dies.
Jonathan: he is forced to play the Romantic Comedy Fiancé in the dreaded love triangle, and is framed as and vilified for thinking that he’s better than Steve. Nancy gives a speech about how Steve has changed so much while Jonathan hasn’t. His history of trauma and poverty is either ignored or presented pretty unsympathetically as stuff he needs to get over. For maximum ill effect, his real problem is that he needs to forgive his father. He has minimal interaction with his family and none with anyone else. He dies saving Nancy and/or Steve, and is therefore redeemed for his heinous crimes of smoking pot and not fellating Steve. Will’s pretty sad; Nancy and Joyce are lightly misty.
Nancy: She ends up with Steve, and all of her character development throughout the show is framed as the misguided actions of a scared little girl. Now that she’s over her trauma, she’ll no longer need to date a person not of her social class or seriously pursue a career or pick up a gun ever again. She has “matured” enough to realize that life on the cul-de-sac is actually great if your man is good enough. This is presented as her being at peace, but it comes off as very sexist. The last shot of her has her riding beside Steve in an RV with a couple of kids in the backseat. It’s 1995 but her hair is very 2023. Steve is also a cop in this scenario. She doesn’t interact much with anyone outside the love triangle, especially not her own family.
Steve: he loses all his brain cells and devotes all his non-action screentime to mooning over Nancy, even ignoring Robin and Dustin. He gets to look badass in the action scenes from time to time, but he suffers from Late Game Jon Snow Syndrome, where he’s presented as a super-competent guy but all his plans are bad. Outside the action scenes, he’s either comically stupid or everyone acts like he is. He does not figure out anything about himself, and there’s no delving into anything psychologically interesting (is he at all fucked up from the events of past seasons? What’s his family like?). He dies saving Nancy. She, Robin, Dustin, and maybe a few others mourn him, but the way they talk about him sounds suspiciously close to the way you’d eulogize the family golden retriever.
Robin: she’s completely reduced to comic relief and cheerleading Steve, and all the characters act like she’s annoying. She’s extremely inept at all things, to the point that it seems like the show is engaging in mean-spirited mockery of a disabled young adult. She mentions Vickie once and otherwise might as well not have a sexuality. She becomes really hostile towards Nancy for “breaking Steve’s heart,” and overall is much more invested in Steve’s love life than her own. It becomes clear that Maya Hawke has opted to portray her this season by doing a Phoebe from Friends impression the whole time. Her hair is also very 2023.
Argyle: he’s just not there, and no one ever mentions him again.
Mike: he spends most of the season getting dumped on for being a bad boyfriend to El and a bad friend to Will and the rest of the party, in a way that would kind of make sense if he was a thirty-five-year-old man but is pretty ridiculous in light of him being a fifteen-year-old boy. He “redeems” himself by sacrificing his life for El’s. We never get to find out what his whole deal was; the whole thing is vague enough so that it feels sort of homophobic but we’re not exactly sure why. He does not interact with Nancy.
Will: he is tempted to join forces with Vecna, and finally succumbs specifically because he’s jealous of El’s relationship with Mike. He’s saved from himself at the last minute by El, in a way that feels pretty impersonal; she’s doing it less because she cares about him specifically and more because she’s the hero. Breaking away from Vecna costs him his life, however. Joyce pretty much tells El that she’s a replacement for Will. The other characters honor his memory but in kind of an infantilizing way; they either don’t know about or awkwardly ignore his sexuality.
Dustin: he becomes embittered and volatile following Eddie’s death, but, instead of this being a sympathetic problem for him to deal with or a generator of conflict within a group, it becomes a source of comic relief. It’s a running gag that the other characters will turn around and see that Dustin has fucked shit up in a fit of rage. He also becomes subtly crasser and more sexist. He dies fighting against Vecna, and his friends honor his memory, but also in a pretty infantilizing way.
Lucas: he’s reduced to being quietly sad about Max and acting as a bland voice of reason within the party. He apologizes to his friends onscreen for trying to do an extracurricular activity that they weren’t into last season. He gets minimal interaction with Erica, and there’s no delving into his traumas or family life or interests. Ultimately he sacrifices himself so that Max can wake up from her coma or otherwise be saved.
El: she sacrifices herself in the fight against Vecna, after expounding at length about how she’s too damaged to live a normal life or have a relationship. It’s kind of implied that she and Vecna are, in a sense, getting married on another plane of existence. Her friends and family memorialize her, but in an infantilizing way—lots of Eggo and superhero references.
Max: she survives her coma but is visually impaired and/or can’t walk, and the show doesn’t handle her disabilities well at all. In a retrograde reprise of the previous season, she pushes Lucas away because she doesn’t want to “burden” him. He protests, but no one actually points out that people with disabilities can have full, happy lives. The defeat of Vecna magically cures her, but Lucas is dead so she has to be all Titanic about it.
Erica: the show doubles down on her jingoistic streak and also makes her a fan of “enhanced interrogation techniques.” She’s basically an evil baby genius by the end of the show. More grounded moments, like her interactions with Lucas and Dustin, are nowhere to be seen.
If any of these happen, I get a treat, to console me about the awful writing.

Taxi Driver 2 Ep. 14
Tumblr media
The bishop returns to Korea. After waking up from being drugged, Do-Ki discovers evidence of Black Sun's drug trafficking and devises a plan. Meanwhile, Ha-Joon becomes aware that Rainbow Transport is tracking Black Sun and takes precautions due to Do-Ki's skill.
Season 2 Episode 14 "I'll Kill You Myself"
The series is based on real-life heinous crimes committed in Korea and has received praise from viewers for its performances and storylines.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Episode 14 "I'll Kill You Myself"
Ha-Joon and the other cult members welcome the Bishop at the airport. The Bishop leads a prayer meeting at a secret church, attended by all the key people involved in the case.
Do-Ki wakes up in the hospital bed and tells Go-Eun that Moon-Hyun had questioned him about Victor before he passed out from being drugged. He reveals that he managed to sneak the recording pen given to Detective Choi by Young-Min. The pen contains a recording of what had happened on the night of Detective Choi's murder-suicide. In a flashback, Detective Choi witnesses his colleagues returning confiscated drugs to Black Sun.
Choi discovers the two police officers celebrating with Moon-Hyun and Guard Jong-Seon. He attempts to arrest them and the Black Sun staff for illegally smuggling drugs, but the guards overpower him. Before being forced to drink the drugged alcohol, similar to what Do-Ki consumed, the detective manages to place his recording pen in the VIP room and activate it. The episode shows Detective Choi leaving the nightclub and sitting in his car before his dead body was discovered. Present day Do-Ki tells Young-Min that the recording pen had a comment from Detective Choi that only the reporter could decode. Young-Min listens to the recording again and recalls his conversation with Choi. When he was alive, Detective Choi had enrolled Young-Min in a gym membership.
Tumblr media
The Bishop speaks to Ha-Joon, Hyun-Jo, and other cult members. Meanwhile, Young Min contacts the gym to inquire about the locker reserved by Detective Choi. Inside the locker, Young-Min discovers a note from Choi containing evidence against Black Sun. Go-Eun informed the team at Rainbow Taxi headquarters that the drung circulating in the club was called GHB (Gamma-Hydroxybutyric Acid). When consumed with alcohol, it can cause a trance-like state. According to Sung-Chul, the drug, commonly known as the "rape drug", allows the user to perform basic tasks like walking but causes memory loss from the moment of ingestion. The group is outraged that the nightclub was distributing such a dangerous substance for their own gain. Do-Ki vows to take action and expose the club.
Tumblr media
CEO Yang thanked Hyun-Jo and Ha-Joon for recovering most of the GHB drugs that the police had allegedly confiscated from Hyun-Jo's team. Ha-Joon promised to return the remaining drugs to her. At that moment, Moon-Hyun informed Hyun-Jo about Do-Ki and Ha-Joon was shocked to learn that the taxi driver was still alive. It is anticipated that Do-Ki could cause more trouble for them, and this has caused panic. Ha-Joon and his men raided the Rainbow Taxi headquarters but did not find any members there. He informed the Bishop about Do-Ki, but the religious leader asked him to continue their mission as scheduled.
Tumblr media
The next day, the Rainbow Taxi group was ready to act on their plan while Ha-Joon remained alert for Do-Ki's next move. The cops managed to take the drugs to the incineration plant as planned. While on their way, the police inform Hyun-Jo that the road is under construction. Ha-Joon advises Hyun-Jo to stick to the planned route without any last-minute changes. The police hand over the drugs to Moon-Hyun and Ha-Joon. However, Ha-Joon finds it suspicious that he was able to obtain the drugs so easily. He is convinced that Do-Ki is planning something significant but cannot pinpoint what it is. The mission to smuggle drugs to international clients is proceeding as planned. The Black Sun nightclub is currently filled with international smugglers.
Windy and Jong-Seon are selling drugs to international clients. Meanwhile, Hyun-Jo is preparing to be promoted to Commissioner of Police that same evening. Suddenly, CEO Yang arrives at the Black Sun and tells Ha-Joon that the GHB drugs have been replaced with flour. Ha-Joon is unable to make sense of what happened, and then all the international buyers start dropping unconscious in the nightclub. Jin-Eon and Kyung-Koo replaced the regular alcohol with GHB, causing the buyers to pass out. Chaos errupted at the Black Sun, and Ha-Joon made eye contact with Do-Ki, who was looking down at him from the VIP area.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a flashback to the day before the drug smuggling, Jin-Eon and Kyung-Koo replaced the GHB with flour, while Go-Eun hacked into the police system to unlock the locks. Ha-Joon receives a call from Hyun-Jo, who claims that the narcotics department has raided his office and found all of the GHB drugs in the to-be Commissioner's office. Ha-Joon is shocked and promises to teach Do-Ki a lesson before escaping. Meanwhile, the police raid the Black Sun nightclub and arrest everyone involved in the drug racket, including CEO Yang, Victor, Moon-Hyun, Windy, and Jong-Seon. The police officers who were responsible for Detective Choi's death have been arrested and charged. In order to protect the organization, Ha-Joon had to kill Hyun-Jo before he could be investigated.
Tumblr media
Young-Min thanks Do-Ki and the team for bringing justice to Detective Choi. He pays for the deluxe taxi ride as promised. Reporter Young-Min reports the arrest of the Black Sun employeees and other VIPs involved in the case.
Tumblr media
In the epilogue, Bishop attempts to kill Ha-Joon but decides to spare the manager when he begs for a second chance. Ha-Joon promises the Bishop he'll kill Do-Ki. Meanwhile, Sung-Chul receives a call from another client. Do-Ki goes out to pick up the client, who is none other than Bishop.

16 March 2023 Thursday 11 am pdt
In the middle of my sleep 😴 the incubus or incubus miñion seemed to sprinkle acid in to the air & I felt it. 11:02 am pdt difficulty breathing heart ♥️ pain 11:03 am pdt. A few days ago the incubus miñion made me feel like I was pure evil 🦹‍♀️ inside my brain 🧠 & that I lacked self control with out him 😞😖😭 very hot 🥵 btwn breasts 11:06. Y. L <—incubus did that. It felt true 😞😖😭 I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ what is true. I guess I’m in denial. Why does it feel true???? How does it feel real???? All my life I had to fight bad feelings & thoughts 💭!! Am I truly cursed by Mother Nature???? 11:11 am pdt is it through magic 🪄 potion 🧪 & years of manipulating me that I’ve become this way???? Acid throat pain 11:13 am pdt
11:41 am pdt butt bones 🦴 pain after left hip bone 🦴 felt changed possibly reduced 😭🥵😤🥵😤😖😭😞11:42 am pdt he’s mean 😭! He’s a sellout! For money 💰!!!! 11:43 am pdt
1:23 am pdt if my man cheated on me even a little bit I would feel betrayed & my trust would be broken. My head & heart ♥️ would fill with sorrow at the thought he did something behind my back & EVERYONE was okay 👌 with it Bcz they all wanted a piece of him so they act like it’s okay 👌! 1:26 pmpdt he would be in the DOG HOUSE 🏠 for a LOOOONG time! I would feel discouraged from giving my heart ♥️ fully AGAIN & hesitant to trust his words that I would be the only one he would love 💕 forever ♾! If you really meant it, you wouldn’t go towards the temptation, you wouldn’t go to meet them. You would keep it at magazines, nameless faces, don’t seek to know them. Masturbate by hand like you used to? Unless you’re too spoiled for that. 1:29 pmpdt
1:34 pmpdt with his magic 🪄 powers he probably rapes 15 year old girls. Incubus has a dirty d*ck! 1:35 pmpdt
1:36 pmpdt last year? I heard the Virgin Mary was 16 years old & the John she married was very old like 80? 1:36 pmpdt 90? I:37 pmpdt
1:37 pmpdt & I heard the Juliet capulet character was ≈13/14 years old? If the character is supposedly that old when she first has s*x & he’s making references to it with the tattoos on his hands 🙌 he probably really does rape 13/14 year old girls. Jewish law says when you’re 13 years old you’re an adult 🧑 & when I was 13/14 years old the teachers 👩‍🏫 gave a little s*x education. BEWARE! If incubus burns 🥵 you for your educated guesses, it probably means you are right! Bcz the truth hurts! 1:41 pmpdt
1:41 pmpdt Bcz if it was true then dead men tell no tales! But if it’s not true then you have the courage to face the court! & everyone! & your accuser! & the courage to face an investigation! Bcz murderers murder to hide the heinous things they’ve done! You’re delusional or brainwashed or one of them to think otherwise! 1:44 pmpdt
1:45 pmpdt hurting me, destroying a piece of me such as my uterus & ovaries is murdering a piece of me at a time. Slow tortured murder. 1:46 pmpdt
1:46 pmpdt threatening & punishing me to keep quiet 🤐 is a murderous move. 1:47 pmpdt
1:51 pmpdt I still feel the heat & acid burning 🔥 my vag. If you stand by him & his family, you stand by capitalism a system that encourages cops 👮‍♂️ to not rescue 11 year old girls from s*x offenders. 1:52 pmpdt the proof is in the news 📰. 1:53 pmpdt
1:54 pmpdt he’s a flip flopper. He said stuff like he’s special Bcz he was born & raised in Los Angeles. Then he flips & wears T-shirts & license plates in beautiful mistakes that say LA is toxic & moved to Santa Barbara & left the voice. When he’s done ✅ using you he will toss you out like trash 🗑. 1:57 pmpdt
1:57 pmpdt Q told me her uncle lives in Santa Barbara... tongue 👅 pain 1:58 pmpdt
1:58 pmpdt if there is a truth serum, is ther an anti- truth serum? 1:59 pmpdt
2 pmpdt didn’t stroh say they hung out in L.A.?
2:02 pmpdt Jared you’re a senior in 2001? 2:03 pmpdt
2:23 pmpdt if incubus was really “Brendan” using Brendan’s account & being a double catfish mixing their identities, then he really was looking for someone who only was a month away from turning 16 years old to have s*x with! 2:24 pmpdt when he was 22 years old????
2:25 pmpdt
2:35 pmpdt guys who are 21 years old Bcz of the alcohol & being legally adult 🧑 since 18 years old & they’re accepted & not shamed for being whores? Although Scott seemed to care too much about being associated with premarital s*x? Bcz he’s rich? Toys okay 👌 for them to put all the responsibilities on the female even though they’re usually bigger, richer, stronger, more powerful than a woman 👩🏼? As if they don’t use any of this as quiet leverage & pressure on someone? 2:39 pmpdt also let’s not forget demons making us addicted to s*x in the land of nod (can’t say no! & if you do, somehow punishment comes!) 2:40 pmpdt this culture of not holding men accountable probably stems from them being afraid of responsibility even though the woman 👩🏼 is the one who has the most consequences to bear 🐻. They can run 🏃‍♂️ away easy! Even though the economy usually gives more dollar 💵 benefits they still have excuses to put it all on the woman. 2:43 pmpdt
2:44 pmpdt are they afrai If responsibility Bcz they know they’re GUILTY! Of being rapist! & not LOVERS 💕! Of being only lustful without intentions of really seeking love 💕! 2:46 pmpdt
2:54 pmpdt afraid of ⬆️ 2:56 pmpdt Nick wanted to have s*x with me without getting to know me. Same w/ Scott. He touched my breast when he hugged me after the first time we hung out one on one, & it was probably only our 2nd time of really talking to each other more than few minutes. 2:58 pmpdt all the other times was probably 2 minutes here 2 minutes there 5 minutes at a different time. Before we hung out one on one he had a girlfriend he was probably already f*Cking for years1! 2:59 pmpdt
3:54 pmpdt I found weird crystals in my disposable underwear 🩲 that’s meant for incontinent old people. I accidentally ripped it open & saw a bunch. It’s really hard stuff. My vag lips 👄 are more than half gone, feels only like the outer flesh. It was probably put there by the incubus? Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ it does feel broken.. I think 💭. 3:58 pmpdt
imagine incubus goes to Brendan & says bro 😎 let me stay for free & use your internet. Maybe 🤔 he even says let him take “chicks” to his place for privacy while he’s at work? When he’s suppose to be at guitar class. 4:01 pmpdt imagine that Brendan doesn’t know that incubus wants to use his internet to pick up random “chicks” to have one night stands with. So Brendan doesn’t know his email 📧 will be connects to catfishing. Imagine Brendan still doesn’t know that incubus was plotting to throw him under the bus 🚌, for prostitution of minors? 4:04 pmpdt if he does know then he’s a good actor. 4:04 pmpdt
4:07 pmpdt if Brendan knew of the whole thing maybe he stood to profit from it. Maybe 🤔 he wanted a minor to f*ck. 4:08 pmpdt
5:02 pmpdt incubus ate into vag lip more. It’s probably gone. I’m afraid to touch myself to check. I think 🤔 I’m not going to go to the hospital 🏥 anymore. Incubus might completely dissolve me. & we can show the whole world 🌎 he doesn’t need anyone’s help to kill someone. Which is why rapist like Nick carter can rely on him. 5:04 pmpdt and doctors 🥼 & scientists 👨‍🔬 chose to help rapist rather than the victims. 5:05 pmpdt

hello anon here, just wanted to say the JJ homeless fic really hit home for me, i experienced homelessness on and off for most of my life and still find myself hoarding things like tissues and socks,
i would absolutely love a part 2 or maybe even a full fledged Fic
but thank you so much for spreading awareness
"Hey, JJ?" Emily asks one evening when they're the last two in the building. "Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, of course."
"Remember when you told me you used to be homeless?"
JJ blushes. "I remember."
"Is that--" Emily hesitates. "Is that related to all the arrests that Garcia kept off your record when you joined the bureau?"
JJ's face goes from red to white so quickly that Emily helps her to a chair to sit down.
"I'm so sorry," Emily says. "I didn't mean to--"
"Yes," JJ interrupts. "Yes, they are. Did, uh, Garcia tell you about that?"
"We have an understanding, now that I'm Unit Chief," Emily tells her. "She can do what she needs to do to protect the team, but I have access to whatever information she chooses to hide."
JJ nods. "We deal with criminals all day every day," she says. "The worst of the worst, people who break the law by committing heinous acts." She hesitates. "Did you know that homelessness is illegal in my hometown."
"What?"
"It's illegal to be homeless there. You can get arrested for sleeping on the streets. And... we did. A lot."
"Your whole family?"
JJ nods again. "The cops didn't care that we were a family," she says. "They cared that we were sleeping in a park, or by the street. Any night the shelters were full, we were extra vulnerable. And I was 18, so they could arrest me just as easily as my parents."
"God, JJ, that's horrible," Emily says.
"Yeah, it was," JJ says. "I thought my chances in the bureau were shot, but the person who recruited me understood my situation and helped me out. It's all out there, though, on record. And I'll never be able to get rid of those memories."
"I'm amazed you can still work with law enforcement. I'd want to punch ever uniform I saw."
JJ laughs. "It took me awhile," she admits. "They still bring up bad memories sometimes. But all I can do is do my best to get the real criminals. People who are actually hurting others, not just looking for a place to spend a night."
"I'm proud of how far you've come, JJ. And thank you for being honest with me."
JJ shrugs. "The more people who know it's an issue, the better chance someday we'll find more effective and humane ways to deal with homelessness. You know?"
Emily nods, then pulls JJ into a hug.

Sometimes I browse controversial ship tags just to see what's going on...
Warnings: Mentions of incest, molestation, harassment
Tumblr media
Antis are seriously some of the most immoral people I've ever had the displeasure of seeing with my own two eyes. (Especially the molesting family members part— there's no evidence that liking incest fanfiction is going to make you do such heinous acts, or make you more likely to do so, this is just apparent projection on their part.)
And it's so funny to end a post with the "get therapy" after telling them to get harassed. Just peachy. You want them to be harassed, and then what? Get therapy for that harassment? What a great plan.
Anti-blankshippers, or we'll just antis in general, I wonder what goes on in those empty little heads of theirs?
Tumblr media
This one seems to think you can go to jail for making two fictional brothers kiss. (And yes this is a real ask I myself received, along with some others I won't be sharing here.) I don't even ship blankship or Kudanobo or Nobokuda, I even said in the post they're responding to I don't ship Ingo and Emmet, and yet they still called me a shipper?
You can't win in these sorts of things huh? That's why it's best to ignore them. Yeah, you heard me, block and ignore. I'm only showing these things here cause it's my side account and I can talk about whatever I want here. But you? On your main? Keep the drama off. Just block and delete any messages you get like this.
Block anyone you see doing this BS out in the public area too. Your life will be much better afterwards. Do not let them have power. They want your reaction, don't let them have it. Let them stew in their hatred and eat themselves from the inside out when they finally realize... No one fucking cares.
It's shipping. Not something to be debated. So don't debate. All antis eventually end up cannibalizing each other when they realize there's no "us" versus "them" and it's just them being petty assholes. They'll move on, and if they do stay... They won't be taken seriously.
I mean, who takes "You're going to be arrested for making two brothers kiss!" Seriously? Yeah bud call the cops then, tell the FBI "yes I'm reporting this account for incest! They made Ingo from Pokemon kiss his twin brother Emmet— yes Pokemon is a game, what do you mean you don't take tips about incest that are dealing with video game characters? But they're shipping them!!! And making them hold hands!!!! That's got to be illegal??!?!"
I hope you know you sound like a Karen calling the police over a child selling water whenever you threaten the cops in an argument about shipping.

I have been rewatching Deception lately and I forgot how amazing this show is! Seriously you should watch it. And I have so many thoughts! There are spoilers below.
So one of the things I don’t get is why everyone in the FBI is so distrustful of Jonathan. I mean I get that he is a convicted felon but like, it was for involuntary manslaughter. Which isn’t good but the word involuntary is also in the literal name of the crime. It means he did something reckless and person died and he is being punished for his stupidity but he also didn’t kill a woman on purpose?! And yes after the crash he ran. But they don’t act like there was a massive manhunt so it was more of a run in the moment panic but he also let himself get caught even though he is a master of disguise? Which could also be attributed to not wanting Cameron to go to jail for his mistakes because I doubt that the first thing the cops did after Cam said the man in the photo was his brother that they let Cameron go with a pat on the back. Cameron was probably brought in for questioning and would have been convicted if Jonathan hadn’t turned himself in to corroborate the story. So while he ran he did still make sure another innocent man didn’t take the fall for a crime that neither of them committed. But when Jonathan is let out of jail to help save Cameron Deakins and even Kay act like Jonathan is some master criminal who can’t be trusted in the slightest. Again it isn’t like it was purposeful and premeditated murder. It was literally an accident and is even how he was convicted. As in causing an accident in which a person died! And if the argument is that well of course he is bad he has been hiding his existence for 30 years...well, so has Cameron! And Dina and Jordan and Gunter! But they can be trusted. They also lied! I will come back to this in a minute.
Why is the FBI so mistrustful. Especially once they have evidence that maybe Jonathan isn’t making it up and is actually innocent. I can actually get on board with Deakins’ not trusting Jonathan. She doesn’t know him beyond‘convinced criminal bad’. But Kay believes Cameron when he says his brother was set up. She knows that she is getting an innocent man out of jail to help find his missing brother. And yet Jonathan is treated like a low life scum bag. Mike is just as distrustful but he also has personal issues with Jonathan so...and yet Mike treats Jonathan the best because he doesn’t actually think sending Jonathan back to jail is the right move because he knows he can help find Cameron. Mike even takes Jonathan back to the Archive to say goodbye to Dina despite the fact that Mike can’t stand him. Mike’s issues are purely personal and have nothing to do with Jonathan’s conviction and yet Mike puts aside those personal feelings. Mike has my respect for that.
It does make me wonder though why Jonathan isn’t allowed to benefit from this deal with the FBI. There are people who have done truly heinous things. People who murdered dozens of people and sold drugs and done a lot of horrible things and yet are allowed to go into witnesses protection or have lighter sentences in exchange for turning in people who are actually worse than them! And yet Jonathan who accidentally (again that is his legal conviction!) killed someone isn’t given any sort of incentive? In Escapology Kay straight up says that Cameron needs to be careful about having Jonathan ask questions in prison because people won’t be happy to find out that he is helping the FBI. So Jonathan is helping the FBI, is basically a criminal informant and is risking his own life to save a woman’s life and yet is not allowed to get some time knocked off his sentence. If he is helping the FBI why can’t Jonathan be allowed to go under house arrest instead? That way he can help while not being in prison and can a little more comfortable for his incarceration? Why can’t he get some time off his sentence for community service? The FBI wants to take and take from a guy who isn’t the worst criminal out there and yet despite all the help he has freely offered with nothing in return they act like he is the lowest of the lowest. Like if he was given the chance to run he would and he would gladly leave his brother to who knows what kind of fate. And in a moment of adrenaline and weakness where Jonathan pointed a gun at a woman (which he didn’t fire!) it confirms all their suspicious that he deserves to be labeled a criminal. Again, this is coming from Kay who says that she believes that he is innocent. Kay even made sure that MW was caught on camera because she believes that MW is the real criminal. I don’t get why Jonathan is given the short end of every stick and treated so terribly because he made one mistake. Even for the people who believe he caused that accident. No wonder Jonathan snaps at the end of the season. The FBI wants to treat him the worst bad guy, then fine he’s the bad guy. And unfortunately Cameron is the face the FBI sends in to talk to Jonathan for help and so Cameron gets the brunt of that anger.
And now back to the secret that has been kept for 30 years. Why is Cameron the scape goat for being the one to keep Jonathan trapped when there were 3 other people who knew? At least Cameron and Jonathan have the excuse of having an abusive father who pounded it into their heads that Jonathan must remain secret and I’m sure there is some leftover mental scaring which is part of what kept both of them in the cycle of keeping Jonathan secret even after their dad died. It’s the only kind of life either of them had ever known and it must have been terrifying to think about breaking out of that. And what is the crew’s excuse. They were all fully adults when they found out and none of them helped the twins get out of that toxic mindset because it does make a really cool show. Dina dated Jonathan and obviously liked him but she wasn’t any more willing to help Jonathan step out of the shadows than anyone else.
Why is Cameron blamed so heavily for Jonathan’s life being miserable? I mean think about it. Sebastian is obviously the one who started the whole mess and is truly to blame for everything. Cameron and Jonathan were just kids forced to do their dad’s bidding. Then after they became adults neither of the brothers revealed that there were two of them. Jonathan was legally an adult when their dad died. Why couldn’t Jonathan say screw the show and walk out on stage with Cameron and reveal the truth? No one was stopping him. And you can’t tell me that if Jonathan really and truly wanted out that Cameron wouldn’t have made it happen. Cameron spent a year of his life ruining his own career and driving himself crazy trying to find proof of his brother’s innocence long before meeting the FBI. Cameron refused to do anything to better his own life until he saved Jonathan. Cameron loves his brother more than anything and it’s so obvious. Cameron even turns his back on Kay, a woman he is starting to fall in love with. Cameron decided to become a criminal and go on the run because he loves his brother. Cameron would give his own life if it meant his brother could be free. Everything Cameron does is for his brother. And yes, Cameron didn’t steal the diamond but letting an innocent woman get in trouble for his own crime isn’t that crazy of a line to not want to cross. Cameron knows intimately what it’s like to feel guilty for an innocent person losing everything because of his own perceived mistakes. But when it’s just Cameron’s life on the line he is all in.
When I think about Jonathan wanting to end the charade I imagine the conversation going like this:
Jonathan: I want out.
Cameron: but we could do such a cool show.
Jonathan hesitating for a couple of seconds: ok.
I don’t think Jonathan put up that big of a fight. If he had made it clear that he wanted nothing more than to get out Cameron would have let him! Jonathan gave in easily and let himself stay there because it was easier than dealing with the consequences of actually going through with it. Again that mental scaring coming into play. Jonathan has only been known as himself by a very very small number of people. Everyone else in the world knows him as Cameron. So he is probably scared of what would happen if he were to reveal himself. He knows everyone loves Cameron but would people actually accept Jonathan? What if the answer is no? What if everyone is disappointed to find out that Cameron has a brother? What if Cameron is accepted and Jonathan is rejected? Would Cameron continue living his life and Jonathan would be forced out and stuck watching his brother from afar and wind up completely and totally alone? So Jonathan stays.
And Cameron loves his brother and knows his brother is amazing. What happens if people discover Jonathan and they all realize how amazing Cameron already knows he is? Will Cameron lose his brother? Will Jonathan realize there are people out there who are better than Cameron? And since Jonathan isn’t forced to spend time with only Cameron will he leave? Cameron couldn’t be truly known any better than Jonathan. Despite having a ‘life’ Cameron was just as trapped and isolated by this secret as Jonathan. Cameron lost a woman he loved because he couldn’t tell her he had a twin and so was accused of cheating because no one thought he should be allowed to trust her with something that important. I think the psychological toll this whole act took has been affecting the twins their whole life. It’s just that when the truth came out it was way worse than either ever imagined.
Again the crew sees themselves as family but they never did anything to encourage the twins to reveal the truth. I’m sure they heard Jonathan express his desire to stop hiding at some point. And none of them advocated for him. None of them helped the brothers to see that their life was actually messed up and that they both needed help. They saw Cameron devastated over his breakup because of this secret and they never said ‘hey, maybe it’s time you were both allowed to have a full life?’ Jonathan was able to actually maintain a relationship unlike Cameron because Dina was aware of both brothers and he didn’t have to hide from her. Jonathan screwed that up all on his own. Because at the end of the day Jonathan and Cameron were both victims of Sebastian’s terrible parenting.
This show has so much going for. I will be forever disappointed it never got the second season it deserves!

Mmm
You know I keep seeing people explain dabi and always mentioning the fact he murdered people or when someone talks about dabi calling out the abuse and hero society there is always someone yelling "he's a murderer". There's people who always put a disclaimer of "not excusing his crimes" and all that shit. And well
Controversial take
I don't care.
I really don't give a fuck if Dabi murdered 30 people.
"but they were innocent people! Dabi said so" ok and??? So you'll believe a man when he said he killed innocent people but not about the fact that society is fucked and powerful men keep getting away with abuse? Ok.
Also innocent by who's standards? Who are these innocent dead people? Snatch? One hero we saw get killed that could technically be counted as compress's fault. The only time we've seen dabi kill people were either collateral or criminals.
"murder is still wrong!" So isn't child abuse but go off I guess
And like y'all act like murder is this big heinous crime. I'm going to be real. Murder can actually be more nuance than just being this black and white morally bad shit you want it to be.
Murder can be morally grey. I can hear people getting bent out shape over me "defending murder" but I legit don't give a fuck. There are crimes worse than murder and sometimes murder is ok in the grand scheme of things.
Like how many heroes have killed people? Are we just going to get mad over a villain for admitting to killing but if ore the heroes who do it too? "But they are heroes and have no choice sometimes" that's chill you're sounding like a cop apologist.
A victim killing someone for survival is different than a hero killing someone because a victim does not have power. Heroes have all the power in these situations.
And now I'm just going to say it and I will keep saying it
CHILD ABUSE IS WORSE THAN MURDER
Dabi is a murder but he is a child abuse victim and he hasn't actually wanted to hurt kids. And before anyone says shouto I'm going to answer simply with that's trauma. Dabi doesn't see shouto as a kid or even his brother but an extension to the man who abused him because of trauma.
Everything that is happening is because of unchecked trauma and hero society is going to pay for it like they should.
And you know who's fault that is? Endeavor
This all Endeavor's fault. Blame him.
Child abuse is worse than murder. Child abuse is traumatic, has devastating impacts throughout life especially if unchecked and is the worse thing a human can do to another person. It's cruel, it's inhumane, and there is no justification or excuse for it.
I can argue that there are cases of murder being ok. Killing an abuser is one of them.
But even if the people were innocent without any dirty laundry I would still not care. I care more about the child abuse and the society that lets powerful people be in position of power unchecked with no consequences (wow why does that sound familiar?/sarcasm).
And to all the people calling dabi worse than Endeavor you get a very special fuck you from me.
Dabi is a complicated character and is more morally grey than we give him credit for.
In conclusion: Murder is ok. Child abuse is not. Endeavor is a bitch and deserves everything that is happening to him.
Thank you for coming to my ramble-y ted talk.

How I would do RWBY pt. 7
War Arc.
Season Seven.
The Cabal is standing room only and Salem is enraged at recent turn of events.
Complains loudly to Myrmidon.
Myrmidon assures Salem that the current plan is not only progressing smoothly but Ozpin still has no idea what it is.
Salem calms down and her mind turns to Cinder. Particularly the fact that Ozpin has captured Cinder.
Salem wonders if she ever told Cinder about the current plan.
She realizes that, yes, yes she did.
Salem is once again angry.
RWBY and JN(P)R are enjoying relative peace as next moves are planned.
Neo is the most cooperative with authorities out of team CEMN.
Due to being, more or less, just hired help she isn’t all that helpful.
Emerald and Mercury are in a similar situation due to being Cinder’s direct underlings and not Salem’s.
All they know is what Cinder told them, which was only just enough to keep them compliant.
Cinder is the one that would have information but is quite tightlipped about things that aren’t insults.
Ozpin wants answers but Ironwood draws the line at out and out torturing a teenager.
Cinder is just waiting in her cell with one arm cuffed to a chair.
WBY and JN(P)R all have a go at trying to make her talk. (Ruby isn’t allowed near her)
Blake tries empathizing with her situation, formerly being one of the bad guys herself.
Cinder says that Blake was an easily swayed idiot who didn’t know what she was actually doing.
Ren and Nora try good cop bad cop.
Cinder calls both of them morons.
Weiss tries bribing her with money and medical help for her missing bits.
Cinder tells her to eat shit.
Jaune tries a ‘you’re a deranged psychopath, prove me wrong’ approach.
Cinder taunts him by talking about killing Pyrrha.
Not only does Jaune have to be pulled out of there, Ren and Nora have to be talked down from cutting the cameras and shank-rushing her.
Ironwood offers her a plea bargain. Spill on Salem and don’t get hanged for heinous war crimes.
Cinder rebukes all of it to varying degrees of profanity.
Penny’s turn.
Penny doesn’t ask her any questions or try anything.
All she says is that she forgives Cinder, that someone should even if no one else ever would.
Cinder is a little unnerved but remains uncooperative.
Everyone calls it quits for the day.
Ruby sneaks into Cinder’s cell when no one is looking.
Cinder almost has a heart attack out of fear of what Ruby will do to her.
Gives her an emotional speech on how Cinder and Salem ruined her life and the worst part is that it was her new best friend that did it.
Ruby is found and escorted out of the cell.
Cinder, having slightly awakened her long ignored heart, says that she did consider Ruby a sort of friend.
Ruby tells her to go to hell.
Yang notices that Cinder’s veneer is peeling.
Decides to take her shot.
Yang surmises that Salem was involved, to a degree, in raising Cinder.
Cinder confirms but also is insulting.
Yang talks about how she knows a little something about parental figures who don’t give a crap.
Cinder gets angry, says that she knows that Salem cares about her.
Yang says that if Salem cared then why did Cinder have to go to Atlas to try and get her attention again?
Cinder starts flinging insults about unloving mother figures.
Yang flings back better ones.
Cinder brags that they’re all dead anyway.
Says that Salem’s big plan is to set off a special bomb-like grimm that will turn another chunk of the planet into grimm land just like the territory around her sanctum.
Ensuring a lack of stability that will force the rest of the world to adapt and evolve.
She doesn’t know where Salem is planning to set it off though.
Everything across the previous seasons was trying to maximize chances of it going off without a hitch.
Weakening potential target areas, providing distractions, eliminating threats, things like that.
That or it was just another attempt to kill Ozpin. Sometimes both. Mostly both.
That’s when she realizes that she just told Salem’s master plan directly to her greatest opposition.
Says that her talking won’t matter and will enjoy watching Salem kill all of them.
Yang tells her to stop being such a chuunibyou.
Ozpin’s Council (Him, Ironwood, Glynda, Qrow, Winter, RWBY, JN(P)R, Ciel, mad scientist) start trying to deduce where Salem will set off the grimm nuke.
Atlas is too militarized, even with the troubles there. Vacuo is too close and wouldn’t provide much strategically. Menagerie and Mistral are both too out of the way to be of use.
The target is Vale. A centralized zone that still has yet to completely recover from the events of the school arc and will further fragment the free peoples of the world.
Not to mention that it’s Ozpin’s personal favorite kingdom. Just another insult on a very long list.
Everyone packs up and heads to Vale for a very somber return home.
Emerald, Neo, and Mercury offer to properly switch sides on the grounds that they had no idea about the whole ‘fuck over the world’ thing.
They only signed on to cause a little trouble and get paid.
They want to help stop Salem now, especially if they’re probably considered expendable collateral.
Offer is appreciated but the handcuffs stay on.
Upon arrival in Vale, Ruby and Yang are immediately accosted by Tai.
Tai is upset with Ruby for running off and not doing so much as ever calling him and he’s upset with Yang just for not calling ever.
He’s proud of his girls for doing so much to help the world, but still.
Raven is there too and offers Ruby a hug from her new stepmother.
Tai and Raven reveal their wedding rings, showing that they have in fact tied the knot (Tai’d the knot).
Yang BSODs for a moment.
Raven has a moment with Yang and Ruby, saying that she took the scolding to heart and realized that, yes, she was a piece of shit.
Came back to Tai to try and start making up for things.
It took a little work but Tai is no longer a depressed, overprotective, neglectful, sad sack of crap, so maybe it’s not the worst thing that she’s back.
She’s also given all the intel she acquired while part of the Cabal.
R+Y are skeptical but intend to burn that bridge when they cross it later.
Cinder sneaks out of her cell.
Tries to bust EMN out too.
They rebuke her, saying that they would rather not help permanently fuck over a continent and by extension the world for no real reason beyond ‘because you said so’.
They would rather live in the world, not destroy it.
Cinder leaves them to rot, finds her gear, and steals a new robo-arm for her trouble, doing everything she can to stay under the radar while she thinks of what to do next.
RWBY + JN(P)R have trips down memory lane as they walk through the ruins or the rebuilt versions of their old haunts.
Remembering the good times and the bad.
The trials and tribulations as well as the warm memories that they keep dreaming about returning to.
Then they get to work.
They scour the recovering city of Vale first for any sign of anything grimm or Salem related.
Team CRDL, who stayed in Vale as volunteer workers and security, say that aside from a few more grimm raids, nothing special has happened in months.
CRDL assist as much as a team of jobber jabronis can.
Surprisingly, they don’t act like cunts.
Ozpin realizes that the only places that haven’t been searched were the places he’s kept secret.
Reveals his illuminati style cave with monitoring equipment that has tabs all over the world.
It has cameras and stuff in places that Ozpin has absolutely no right or need to know about.
Low and behold, grimm have tunneled into it.
Myrmidon is in there, checking up on things.
She introduces herself to the main characters and then cheeses it, leaving a distraction force of grimm.
After they’re dealt with, they turn their attention to the big fucking elephant in the room.
Massive, bulbous, monster of a centipede grimm is right in the center of the chamber. The grimm nuke.
They’ve found it, sure, but now what do they do?
The Council has a brainstorming session to try and come up with a solution.
Can’t just kill it, it’ll go off.
Raven’s portals only go to people she’s bonded with in some way and it would still fuck up wherever it was teleported to.
It’s a living thing so disarming it like a conventional bomb is not exactly possible.
EMN are questioned on what they might know about it but aren’t able to help much.
This is when they realize that Cinder is gone.
Search effort begins to stop her from fucking everything up.
Yang and Jaune eventually find Cinder.
Keep up the browbeating even as they fight her.
Cinder says that even if she wanted to help, Salem would kill her if she did.
Yang calls Salem a bitch.
She says that Salem’s about to kill her anyway when the thing goes boom.
Cinder relents and says that she’s not sure but Ruby’s white fire is probably the key.
Salem had Summer killed out of fear of her semblance potentially interfering with this exact plan.
Cinder about to am-scray while Yang and Jaune are distracted by putting plan together.
Jaune stops her.
Punches her in the face, hitting the side that can see.
Says that that was for Pyrrha.
Cinder runs off rubbing her jaw.
Begin white fire surgery.
They cut small, precise, holes in the grimm and Ruby burns the resulting goo deluge.
Plan is working shockingly well. Grimm is losing explosive fuel by the truckload.
Takes some time, but eventually all that is left is the monster itself and the explosive trigger.
Trigger goes off in a pathetically emaciated whiff.
Everyone celebrates.
Then they realize that they still have a massive centipede grimm monster that is in the top ten largest ever recorded grimm underneath Vale.
Said massive centipede grimm turns on default mode. Default mode being rushing towards the nearest living thing and killing it.
Said grimm bursts into downtown Vale with more grimm coming behind it.
Right when they had just finished cleaning it up.
Season final boss time.
RWBY, JN(P)R, CRDL, EMN, and the living elements of STRQ fight the grimm.
Professors of Beacon are also helping as well as The Council in general.
Cinder, in her attempt to get out of there, gets caught in the fighting too.
Fuck it. CFVY and SSSN show up from Mistral on Ozpin’s request for backup.
All. The. Warriors.
EVERYONE gets a hit or two in on the grimm.
Big final hit with everyone involved.
Grimm is dead.
Salem is back in her sanctum watching this on a crystal ball or whatever.
Her own rage and frustration at what happened spawns a whole new horde of grimm.
Screams loud enough to break all the glass in her sanctum.
Ruby and Cinder have stare-down after grimm is dead.
Both silently decide that there are bigger fish to fry and go their separate ways.
Big celebration party. World saw RWBY kick absolute ass.
Cinder is out of options so she is now on her way back to Salem.
Myrmidon is sharpening her spear/sword/rifle.
She can’t wait.
Season seven done.

Tales of the Hidden City: Part Two
Next on the list is:
Raph’s Ride-Along
We start off the episode with Raph wanting to go on a ride-along with the Hidden City police.
A few seconds into the episode, we see that there is this villain going around by the name of Heinous Green.
He doesn’t look that similar to Raph besides the head shape, but of course everyone is stupid and they think that our hero is actually the criminal they’re looking for (I’ll get more into the policemen later).
Tumblr media
Also, what is Heinous Green? Is he a turtle (maybe not a turtle, he doesn’t have a shell...)? A yokai? Hopefully we learn more about his character as the season progresses.
The police man take Raph and put them in their police car (saying that Heinous Green is more ‘brawn than brains’), which is when we see...
Tumblr media
THESE GUYS!!!
Voiced by the actors from the 2012 series.
Man, to hear their voices again was just amazing.
Raph starts to freak out, and that’s when we see Mind Raph appear. It seems that Mind Raph appears when Raph starts to go crazy, but if that’s the case then why haven’t we seen him in Man v.s. Sewers?
It wasn’t like Mind Raph wasn’t a thing when that episode aired, we’ve seen Mikey talk to Mind Raph before (Nothing but Truffles).
Tumblr media
Then again, maybe Raph’s anxiety attacks were too much to deal with at the moment. So Mind Raph was out of the question when it came to him freaking out. Since Mind Raph is like another part of Raph, it’s possible that he was freaking out too.
Malicious Mickey and Dastardly Danny both vote to make Raph their leader (they’re names are amazing, I’m assuming they chose the name Mickey since the amount of times people have misspelled Mikey’s name).
Tumblr media
What?! Blue guy is always the leader!
Ok, that line was great. They addressed the hate from the beginning of the show from when Raph was proclaimed the leader.
Side note, what kind of animal is Loathsome Leonard?! Like I’ve been trying to figure that out for a while now. I know that Malicious Mickey is an electric eel and Dastardly Danny is a rat, but what in the world is Loathsome Leonard?! Does anybody know?
Raph tries to make them act nice and sensible, but they don’t listen to him.
Poor Raph, all he wanted was to go on a ride-along.
They all take his words and twist them into saying that they should bust out of the car, and they do just that.
Tumblr media
Ok, when they say “with his muscles on our side, we can break out”, I expected anything but this...
Poor dude just wants to be left alone.
They eventually break out of the car and start running, and Raph tries to tell the cops that there’s a big misunderstanding. Of course, they don’t listen to him. They attack him and put him in some kind of blue orb.
Tumblr media
Huh, it’s almost like they were referencing the cops in real life... Hm...
I love how they name themselves the Mud Dogs. They really are the evil version of the turtles.
Tumblr media
Oh cool, it’s the monster from Donnie’s episode!
Tumblr media
I know they referenced Raph’s episode in Donnie v.s. Witchtown, and I forgot to mention that in my last analysis. I love how you can see each turtle in all of the episodes (just a cool little easter egg I wanted to mention, and Mikey also appears later in this episode).
What do I do Mind Raph? I’m a good guy with a strong moral compass but I’m caught up in a live of crime!
I love how he talks to Mind Raph like he’s another person. It seems to be another way for Raph to cope, and since his brothers also use Mind Raph as well, this can be used as a way to show how much they look up to him. Or it could be a way of saying that they all can mind meld together, which is also cool.
Tumblr media
So Raph creates a plan so that the Mud Dogs can get caught, deciding on making them rob a police station.
At first, this is a weird plan to hear. But he’ll do anything to get them arrested and off his back.
But this is actually a good plan. They rob a police station, admit to a crime they’ve committed and boom! They’ll be caught in no time, right?
Tumblr media
It works out perfectly for the Mud Dogs... Of course it does.
So now Raph is stuck with a bunch of loot that is stolen and the Mad Dogs are still following him around. So he makes another plan: break into the prison.
Tumblr media
Also, the currency the yokai use is weird. We’ve already seen the unicorns used as money before (You Got Served), so what else do the yokai use as money?
The plan ends up working again, and Raph is starting to get frustrated.
You know at first I felt you were put in charge just for change, which actually hurt my feelings. But, here you have a real knack for crime!
I love that the crew just threw in these lines. It shows that change can be good, especially since the show got a lot of hate in the beginning for Raph being the leader.
It’s revealed that the Mud Dogs work / serve for Big Mama, so this means that we’ll see more of them in the future. They also have to give Big Mama part of their cut, so does this mean that they’re serving her for a short time? Are they in debt to her? Hopefully we’ll get more answers later in the season.
Tumblr media
It’s mentioned briefly, but this is the key to the Battle Nexus Wizband. What potential does this orb hold? Is it where the people getting sucked up are held?
So the Mud Dogs tell Big Mama they’ve been working with Heinous Green, and she shuts them down in the most calm way possible. She snitched on Raph so quick!
The real Heinous Green is then shown, and he’s huge! Well, not that much bigger than Raph, but when he gets mad, he grows in size.
If Heinous Green can grow, how big can he get? Is the height we saw him in his final form, or can he get bigger than that?
Raph runs away from Heinous Green, and barely escapes. But then he gets kicked off of the horse (or whatever that yokai was) he was riding.
He spots the police and tells them that the real Heinous Green is attacking, and they don’t believe at first. They’re ready to attack him.
Then Heinous Green shows up and thats when they believe Raph.
Tumblr media
Raph’s mystic form can also get pretty big. There’s so much their weapons can do, and I can’t wait to see the potential they hold.
Raph defeats Heinous and the police apologize. But then they think that Raph is this other criminal and they lock him up anyway...
Hm... Its like the show is referencing real life.
Ok, now to talk about those policemen.
First off, fuck the police. Rise basically said that in this episode.
Raph was brought down just because of his appearance, and they referenced that from what is going on in the world at the moment. Raph’s trying to be the hero and do the right thing, but just because of the way he looks (similar to Heinous), they don’t trust him enough to listen to him. They attack and lock him up, something was to similar to the real world at the moment.
I love how they addressed this in the show. Kids and adults need to know what’s going on, and the crew did just that in this episode.
All in all, this is definitely one of my favorite episodes. I can’t wait to see what that orb can do for the Wizband.

this might be a stretch but i feel like a big part of copganda in the media is the way they portray officer involved shootings. the way they justify them. the way they act like the officers are in the right for taking the shot. the shoot first deal with the consequences later mentality. how the investigations into officer involved shootings are seen as a hinderance to the job rather than due diligence. the media has done such a good job convincing the world that the cops are always justified in their actions because they’re the ‘good guys’ and the criminals are the ‘bad guys’ so therefore their lives are expendable. each and every cop show i have ever seen has shown an officer involved shooting and nearly always the cop comes out looking peachy and the act is justified and commended and media we consume genuinely affects the way people view the world. it’s normalized in the tv we consume - especially us white people who see our reflections in the cops not the victims and that makes it so easy for people to justify when heinous things happen in real life

Taxi Driver 2 Ep. 12
Tumblr media
After being kicked out of Black Sun and beaten up, Do-Ki is arrested by the police instead of them intervening. Despite Young-Min's help in bailing him out, Do-Ki now realizes that the police are working with Black Sun. Rainbow Transport infiltrates the club to bring them to justice for the crimes they are committing.
Season 2 Episode 12 "I Need To Get Back Inside"
The series is based on real-life heinous crimes committed in Korea and has received praise from viewers for its performances and storylines.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Episode 12 "I Need To Get Back Inside"
In Episode 12 of Taxi Driver Season 2, Do-Ki is taken into police custody on Guard Jang's orders. Go-Eun, Kyung-Koo, and Jin-Eon witness Do-Ki being taken away, while the mother of the minor arrives in an ambulance to take her son and his friend away. The woman berates Guard Jang for allowing her son in, and Jang blames his subordinate for letting something like this happen. Jang discovers that the children gained entry to the club through Windy. Jang requests that Windy's schedule be erased, which prompts the escort. She locates Jang in the VIP room and slaps him for causing her financial harm. Jang informs Windy that the club can handle situations such as rape or assault, but allowing minors inside is unacceptable. Windy attacked the chief guard by hitting im with her heel and breaking a glass bottle over his head as revenge. Yoo Moon-Hyun, the chief in charge of Black Sun, walked in and separated the two.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Detective Jang Jin-Ho called Guard Jang to inform him about Do-Ki's arrest. During Do-Ki's interrogation by Senior Officer Jo Min-Geon, Detective Jang claimed that Do-Ki was being arrested on charges of molestation. Do-Ki was locked up and left in shock. Meanwhile, Go-Eun attempted to gather information to assist Do-Ki. She spotted the journalist from earlier that night entering the police station. Kim Young-Min, the journalist, managed to help release Do-Ki from lockup. During a meal and drinks, Young-Min and Do-Ki bonded, and the journalist shared how he saved Do-Ki using CCTV footage. Do-Ki praised Young-Min for his bravery in being beaten up by the guards at Black Sun to expose them. Young-Min advises Do-Ki to steer clear of Black Sun and requests that he refrain from interfering. At Rainbow Taxi headquarters, the sun group speculates about the events at Black Sun. Go-Eun discloses that the club had six owners, none of whom were the true owners, but rather individuals posing as such. To investigate the club, Do-Ki decides to use a method other than attending as a guest.
Tumblr media
In one of the VIP rooms, Park Hyun-Jo, the chief of police and one of the club's owners, is with Victor. The idol thanks the cop for saving him from a DUI. Hyun-Jo signs the revenue chart for the month, which shows that Black Sun's monthly business is 5.64 million dollars. Hyun-Jo is invited by the idol to his comeback party, which will be held at a private resort with women that Hyun-Jo likes. Hyun-Jo informs Victor that the club is making a profit every month. Kyung-Koo and Jin-Eon successfully take down one drunk guard outside the club while Do-Ki abducts two others in his taxi. Moon-Hyun is frustrated that Guard Jang is unable to handle the other guards and contacts someone to get replacements from the gym.
Do-Ki is a gym-goer who was selected to work at Moon-Hyun's club due to his aggression, which he demonstrated by beating two other gym-goers. Guard Jang is surprised to see Do-Ki as one of the new guards, but Do-Ki lies and says he acted on instinct that day to avoid an argument. Moon-Hyun appreciates Do-Ki's attitude and asks him to report any minors seen in the club directly to him. Guard Jang has narrated a set of rules for the bouncers. The rules state that only men and women who meet certain appearance standards are allowed inside the club. The club only allows VIP males during peak hours at 12am. VIP women who meet certain appearances standards are also granted access after 12am. Windy and Jang bicker in front of the junior guards. Do-Ki is assigned as Guard #9 on the main dance floor and instructed not to intervene in any fights.
Tumblr media
CEO Yang recognizes Do-Ki as the guard and appears pleased to see him. During his break, Do-Ki chats with the other members of the revenge crew. However, Guard Jang spots him there. To face Jang, Do-Ki puts on a scene and kicks Jin-Eon and Kyung-Koo out of the club's premises. Jang is shocked to learn that CEO Kang wants to meet Do-Ki and invites him inside. Jang informs Do-Ki that he will now be working with the VIPs. Like the other guards, Do-Ki must protect the alcohol bottle with his employee number (#9). If the bottle shatters, breaks or is stolen, Do-Ki will be responsible for it. He follows the VIP who was holding the bottle #9 and enters the VIP room. Do-Ki observes that the VIP clients are middle-aged women who are being entertained by male escorts. Fortunately, CEO Kang is also present in the same room and is conversing with Ha-Joon who is on his way inside the club.
A superior guard coincidentally calls Do-Ki out and swaps his employee ID with him. As a result, Do-Ki becomes guard #2 and is instructed to wait outside. Ha-Joon notices Do-Ki leaving the VIP area, but doesn't think much of it. Do-Ki witnesses two guards dragging a drunk VIP client into a car and is then asked to drive the woman home. In her VIP room, CEO Kang becomes suspicious when she finds someone else wearing the #9 badge. She ends up breaking a bottle, which frightens the guards and other guests even more. During a discussion about the bishop's arrival, Ha-Joon intervenes and puts on a show to entertain the guards. He fights three of them alone and manages to beat them all. The VIPs are entertained by the guards being beaten up. CEO Kang agrees to fulfil Ha-Joon's wish as per their deal.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Do-Ki is concerened about the client who is passed out in his car but notices that another car is following him. he whispers to Go-Eun, asking her to run a check on the number plates. She discovers that the car belongs to journalist Kim Young-Min. Do-Ki attempts to escape from Young-Min, but the journalist crashes into his vehicle. Young-Min is recognized by the other guards in the car. The journalist rams into Do-Ki's vehicle in an attempt to stop him. Young-Min loses his balance and is about to be hit by a truck. However, Do-Ki uses his vehicle to save the journalist. He beats up the guards who come to check on him after using pepper spray. Do-Ki tells the journalist that they need to take the girl to the hospital as soon as possible. Young-Min informs Do-Ki at the hospital that the girl was drugged and at risk of sexual assault. The doctor confirms that the girl had drugs in her system and had reported it to the police. The woman is arrested by female officers while Detective Jang Jin-Ho reads her rights while she is still sedated.
Tumblr media
Do-Ki and Young-Min observe as the girl is taken away, and the journalist appears angry. He returns to the car where the guards have just regained consciousness. Do-Ki pretends to be unconscious too, as the guards are concerned about losing the drugged girl. Later, after finishing his shift, Do-Ki meets with Young-Min at his house to discuss the case he was working on. Do-Ki discovers that Young-Min had been working to expose the Black Sun for a while. After Do-Ki insists, Young-Min admits that he was seeking revenge for the death of his friend, Choi Seung-Eun. Seung-Eun was killed after attempting to expose the Black Sun. The incident was reported as a suicide, but Young-Nim knows it was staged.
Young-Min holds himself responsible for the incident because he drove Seung-Eun to the Black Sun nichtglub where drugs worth millions were being sold. Seung-Eun had called Young-Nim for help, but reportedly killed himself before they could meet. The police showed Young-Min footage of Seung-Eun, who allegedly died by suicide due to loans and debt. Young-Min believes Seung-Eun saw something he shouldn't have at the nightclub and vowed to uncover the truth about his death. Young-Min inspected the tapes and noticed that Seung-Eun did not have the spy cam pen he was given. Additionally, Young-Min observed that Seung-Eun's demeanor had changed after leaving Black Sun. Furthermore, Black Sun framed Young-Min, resulting in his termination from his job. The journalist filmed himself on the rooftop hoping that Black Sun guards would kill him. This would draw public attention to the nightclub's wrongdoings. Do-Ki left Rainbow Taxi's contact information for Young-Nim before returning to headquarters.

Go-Eun and the others believe that fighting Black Sun is beyond their capabilities. However, Do-Ki is certain that Young-Min was also after the same target they were. Sung-Chul remains neutral on the situation and suggests that the nightclub, Black Sun, may have the answers to their questions. He recommends taking the case on. Meanwhile, Do-Ki reassures Go-Eun that everything will be okay. Later that night, Do-Ki drops off Young-Min after taking on his case. The group resumes using the taxi M5283, and the episode concludes.
