"Seminario cited the recent report, “Employer-Reported Workplace Injuries and Illnesses,” that shows that the number of respiratory illnesses in the private health care and social assistance sector increased from 145,300 in 2021 to 199,700 cases in 2022, an increase of 37.5 percent.
...
As an industrial hygienist, Seminario was extremely critical that there were no experts in respiratory protection on the committee nor did it include engineers who developed ventilation guidelines. She believes that the HICPAC committee members are likely so opposed to respirators “because once you are into recommending respiratory protection, with that comes a full respiratory protection program from OSHA,” with penalties for violations.
An epidemiologist and consultant, Michael Olesen, echoed this, believing the changes reflect “pressure to remove liability from hospitals.” He added, “I take a very clear position that we should be having respiratory protection mandates in all healthcare settings right now.”
...
Many patients who spoke at the HICPAC meetings said they had gotten Covid-19 when they went to the hospital and that the new policies were keeping them from getting care.
Given that, Dr. Art Caplan, professor of medical ethics at New York University’s Grossman School of Medicine, previously told me that dropping masking requirements in hospitals is “utterly, completely, irresponsible.” Similarly, staff refusing to mask, even when a patient requests it, is a moral failure. “The first principle is, you must do what is in the best interest of your patient,” he said.
...
Several people were asked why they believe HICPAC is determined to water down protections. Consistently, respondents say, “to reduce liability.” Earlier in the pandemic, hospitals regularly tested patients and staff for Covid-19, and you could often tell where and how you became infected. Since staff are no longer masking and continue working when ill, and patients are not being tested on admission, you can no longer prove who infected you. Hospitals are the only ones who win in this scenario, absolving themselves of responsibility and liability."

Gwen dug the heels of her palms into her eyes as she walked up the wall, unsuccessfully fighting off another exasperated groan.
She shouldn’t have been doing this. She should be off in another dimension fixing anomalies and fighting bad guys, not this. Anyone could greet new recruits, so why Miguel insisted on making her do it was an eternal mystery. She was honestly starting to think that he just liked annoying her.
Jessica offered her a sympathetic smile when delivering the news, but Gwen didn’t want sympathy, she wanted a mission.
Still, she followed orders, knowing that disobeying would only put her further down the mission list. Plus, with Pavitr and Hobie busy, what else was there to do?
She stepped up to the entrance and her eyes found you immediately. You were easy to spot. All newbies were. They all had the same awe-struck reaction to the compound which Gwen couldn’t blame them for, considering she had been there once herself.
Your mask was off, hanging limp in your hand while your eyes roamed the vast space with a wonder she felt only months prior. It brought a smile to her face.
“Insane right?” she prompted gently as she approached, drawing your eyes to her. “I had the same reaction. It’s not every day you get to see so many spider-people in one place.”
“I didn’t know there was this many. I thought I was the only one,” you admitted, astonishment clear in your voice.
Gwen chuckled. She knew the feeling well. “We all did, but there’s more of us than you can imagine.” She stuck out a hand. “I’m Gwen, by the way. I’m your appointed tour guide.”
You took her hand, gave it a firm shake. “I know, Jessica told me. Nice to meet you, Gwen.”
“Likewise. What Earth are you from?”
“Uh,” you trailed off briefly, tapping at your watch. “Earth-69.”
A snort escaped her before she could stop it. You looked up at her, wide-eyed, while she fought to contain herself.
“I’m sorry, I’m—it’s nothing. I’m actually from Earth-65. Never met anyone from the same sector.”
Brows raised, you remarked, “Well, there’s a first time for everything, right?”
“Yeah, I guess.” She took a look at your suit and, seeing the abundance of white expertly weaved in with the mixture of red and black, couldn’t help asking, “So, why white? Most of us use some combination of red and blue. Besides me, obviously.”
“I want my enemies to see me coming,” you replied, sending her a slightly off-kilter grin that made her unsure whether you were joking. She smirked.
“Foreboding. I like it.” She turned, signaling you to follow. “Now, come on. As you can see, we have a lot of ground to cover, and Miguel will want to brief you as soon as possible.”
You obeyed, following her as she led you around headquarters, showing you the ins and outs of every winding, overlapping corridor while informing you of the group’s purpose. Well, as much as she could without ruining Miguel’s big presentation.
About a third of the way in, she said, “I should probably start introducing you to the others.” Gwen looked around, spotting a few vaguely recognizable masked faces. She pointed to one with a large white spider on his chest.
“That’s Peter.”
He gave you a polite salute which you returned, giving him a compliment about his suit as well. A familiar plastic Lego figure came ambling down the way. Gwen pointed to him.
“That’s Peter.”
The Lego twisted his hooked handpiece in your direction. You gave him a startled wave in response, looking thoroughly perplexed. Next, a car came cruising along and she pointed at it.
“That’s also Peter.”
The car honked as it sped by. You didn’t even react this time. Up ahead, Gwen spotted Ben, sitting off to the side with his tightly curled up to his chest. She sighed, halfheartedly pointed in his direction.
“That’s—”
“—let me guess, Peter?” you cut in, shooting her an unimpressed look.
She laughed. “No, that’s Ben.”
You let out a quiet oh and gave him a concerned look. Ben roused at the sound of his name, looking at the both of you with an absolutely pitiful expression.
“I would greet you guys, but I’m in the middle of a very traumatic flashback,” he moaned, overblown sorrow tinging his words.
Your eyebrows knitted together, and you started to say something, but Gwen pushed you forward by your shoulders, throwing a bye, Ben! over her shoulder. “Trust me, it isn’t worth it,” she mumbled at the confused look you gave her.
She continued guiding you by your shoulders, ignoring the odd looks from passing spiders, until you stopped short suddenly, making her crash into your back.
You were frozen, mouth agape, and eyes locked on something across the way. “Is that a t-rex?”
Following your gaze, Gwen beamed and nodded. “Yep. That’s Spider-Rex.” You gaped.
“Hey Pter!” she yelled with a wave. A ground-shaking roar echoed through the compound in response, scaring more than a few spiders and making Gwen chuckle. After a few more moments of gawking, you unfroze and continued following her, though your eyes still trailed the dinosaur in the distance.
The rest of the tour went without a hitch, the only small stops being a break to pet Spider-Cat and a short introduction to Margo. Soon enough, she was leading you down the long, dark hall to Miguel’s sanctuary.
Miguel, seemingly sensing your guys’ incoming presence, activated his platform and let it start making its way down. Very, very slowly. He wasn’t even halfway down by the time you guys made it into the heart of his den. Gwen barely resisted facepalming. He did this with every newbie, and it got more embarrassing each time. She leaned over to you, suppressing a grimace at the bewildered look on your face.
“I know, it’s slow. He just really likes his dramatic entrances,” she explained away, watching Miguel’s platform descend from above ever so slowly.
You both stood there for minutes, until finally, the platform stopped, and Miguel turned to peer down on you with a look that would have made Gwen cower a few months ago, but now just made her want to heave a deep sigh.
“Miguel, this is the new recruit from Earth-69,” she announced, voice rising at the end with the remnants of a poorly contained laugh. You didn’t seem to catch it, but Miguel did. He gave her a look that told her to knock it off and she did. Hesitantly.
He stepped off the platform and approached, eyes solely on you. “I see. Welcome. We’re glad to have you, but unfortunately, your briefing will have to wait as something has come up.” He turned his gaze to Gwen then, and her posture straightened as she realized what he was about to say.
“Gwen, I’ve got a mission for you.”
“Yes! Finally,” Gwen replied. But he was giving her that look. Her excitement wavered, realization setting in. “Please, don’t say tha—”
“You’ll be needing a partner for this mission.”
Gwen groaned. She hated partner missions. Even when she got the opportunity to pair up with people she liked, she much preferred to go solo. She just worked better alone—always had and always would. She tried to plead with Miguel, “C’mon, Miguel, you know I’m—"
“This is non-negotiable, Gwen,” he cut her off with that annoyingly authoritative tone that she couldn’t stand. “Pick a partner and get going ASAP. I want this done as quickly as possible.”
He walked off then, likely to find Jessica, leaving Gwen to sulk. And she did for about thirty seconds before pulling herself together. When Miguel wanted something done, it needed to get done. She could sulk more later. For now, she shifted her focus to finding an apt partner.
Her go-to’s were off the table. Pavitr was off on his own solo mission and Hobie was off doing lord knew what. Probably something anarchy related. She would have to find someone else.
Jessica was always busy these days, and she was taking less and less missions as her due date neared anyway, so she was off the table. She wasn’t asking Ben because she valued her remaining sanity. Peter B was an option, but he’d want to bring his baby along and Gwen was not equipped to deal with that. But maybe Web-Slinger would work. Or one of the various Peters. Or…maybe someone new.
Her eyes drifted over to you, still at her side despite the tour being technically over. She sized you up, once, twice, then one more time for good measure. You could work, but she knew nothing about how you operated in the field. The entire time, you watched her with a raised brow, unafraid of her judgment.
She crossed her arms, leveled you with a careful look. “On a scale from 1-10, how would you rate your combat ability?”
“10/10, but I may be a bit biased,” you responded immediately, still maintaining eye contact.
Her chin jerked up, eyes narrowing. “Confident, okay. How about web-slinging ability?”
“9.5/10.”
“9.5?”
“I might’ve hit a bird last time,” you said with a small grimace, “but everything else was flawless. Promise.”
That was good enough for Gwen. She uncrossed her arms and stepped closer, giving you a sly smile.
“Well then, newbie, how would you like to go on your first mission?”
You were pulling on your mask before she could even finish, red fabric veiling your wide smirk. “Let’s do it.”
With a nod, she inputted the coordinates Miguel sent her and watched as a corresponding portal spawned with a brilliant burst of light and color. The sight never got old, no matter how many times she saw it. You stepped up to her side and she sent you a sideways glance, a smile creeping onto her face.
Partner missions sucked, but she had a feeling this one wouldn’t be so bad.

Members of an ethical hacking group called Dragon Sector, including Sergiusz Bazański and Michał Kowalczyk, were called upon by a train repair shop, Serwis Pojazdów Szynowych (SPS), to analyze train software in June 2022. SPS was desperate to figure out what was causing "mysterious failures" that shut down several vehicles owned by Polish train operator the Lower Silesian Railway, Polish infrastructure trade publication Rynek Kolejowy reported. At that point, the shortage of trains had already become "a serious problem" for carriers and passengers, as fewer available cars meant shorter trains and reduced rider capacity, Rynek Kolejowy reported.
Dragon Sector spent two months analyzing the software, finding that "the manufacturer's interference" led to "forced failures and to the fact that the trains did not start," and concluding that bricking the trains "was a deliberate action on Newag's part."
According to Dragon Sector, Newag entered code into the control systems of Impuls trains to stop them from operating if a GPS tracker indicated that the train was parked for several days at an independent repair shop.
The trains "were given the logic that they would not move if they were parked in a specific location in Poland, and these locations were the service hall of SPS and the halls of other similar companies in the industry," Dragon Sector's team alleged. "Even one of the SPS halls, which was still under construction, was included."
The code also allegedly bricked the train if "certain components had been replaced without a manufacturer-approved serial number," 404 Media reported. [...]
404 Media noted that Newag appeared to be following a common playbook in the right-to-repair world where manufacturers intimidate competitor repair shops with threatened lawsuits and unsubstantiated claims about safety risks of third-party repairs. So far, Dragon Sector does not appear intimidated, posting its success on YouTube and discussing its findings at Poland’s Oh My H@ck conference in Warsaw.

[ 📹 Palestinians say their farewells at a funeral for civilian families murdered in cold blood by the Zionist occupation army in the Al-Bureij Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip on Friday. 📸 Photos taken following Israeli occupation bombing on Friday across various sectors of the Gaza Strip. ]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏘️💥🚑 🚨
CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES RECOGNIZE PALESTINIAN STATE, OCCUPATION FINDS NEW WAYS TO PUNISH PALESTINIANS ON DAY 210 OF GENOCIDE
On the 210th day of "Israel's" ongoing special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 3 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 26 Palestinians, mostly women and children, while another 51 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.
It should be noted that as a result of the constant Israeli bombardment of Gaza's healthcare system, infrastructure, residential and commercial buildings, local paramedic and civil defense crews are unable to reach countless hundreds, even thousands of victims who remain trapped under the rubble, or who's bodies remain strewn across the streets of Gaza.
This leaves the official death toll vastly undercounted as Gaza's healthcare officials are unable to accurately tally those killed and maimed in this genocide, which must be kept in mind when considering the scale of the mass murder.
In the latest news, a statement issued on Friday by the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission, along with the Palestinian Prisoners Society, announced the deaths of two Palestinian prisoners from the Gaza Strip in Israeli prisons.
One of the two prisoners included Dr. Adnan Ahmad al-Bursh (50yo), who was the Chief of the orthopedic department at Al-Shifa medical complex in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, while the second prisoner who died was Ismail Abdul Bari Khader (33yo).
Dr. Al-Bursh was kidnapped and detained by the Israeli occupation army back last December while visiting with a group of doctors at the Al-Awda Hospital, located in the Jabalia Refugee Camp, in the north of the Gaza Strip.
The doctor had been previously wounded in an Israeli bombardment at the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya about 5 months ago, and died while being held at the Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank on April 19th.
The second prisoner, Bari Khader, died under "mysterious circumstances" following his detainment by Zionist forces. His body was transferred along with the bodies of dozens of detainees from Gaza and released through the Karm Abu Salem crossing in Gaza's southeastern tip.
According to the statement from the Prisoner's Commission, both Al-Bursh and Khader died as a result of torture and neglect at the hands of the Israeli occupation, going so far as to declare Al-Bursh's death a "deliberate assassination" as part of the occupation's targeting of Gaza's doctor's and healthcare system more broadly.
At the same time, the Palestinian National Campaign to Retrieve the Bodies of the Martyrs said the Israeli occupation continues to withhold the bodies of some 500 Palestinians who've died in Zionist jails, including at least 58 detainees since the beginning of 2024 alone.
“Withholding the bodies in the cemeteries and the occupation’s refrigerators constitutes an affront to the human dignity of a person, during his life and after his death, and a collective punishment,” the Campaign said in a statement.
In other news, the Caribbean Island nation of Trinidad and Tobago announced today the recognition of a Palestinian state, officially joining the island nations of Jamaica and Barbados, who previously recognized the State of Palestine.
The decision was made by Trinidad and Tobago's government following a cabinet meeting on Thursday, and came based on the recommendation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The government said it has decided that such recognition would help to achieve a lasting peace in the region and strengthen the international consensus on Palestinian independence and sovereignty.
In additional news, Turkiye has suspended all trade operations with the Israeli occupation, unless and until the occupation allows the free flow of aid into the Gaza Strip.
The announcement was made by Turkiye's Trade Ministry late on Thursday, with the Ministry stating that in the second phase of restrictive measures, it has suspended all trade with Israeli entity due to its ""aggression against Palestine in violation of international law and human rights."
In the first phase, the Trade Ministry restricted the trade of 54 product catagories for export to the Israeli occupation on April 9th.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation's slaughter in Gaza continued for yet another day, with Israeli bombing and shelling targeting all sectors of the Gaza Strip, killing and maiming dozens of Palestinians.
On Thursday, a Palestinian citizen working as a truck driver to distribute humanitarian aid, by the name of Ahmed Yassin, was fired upon by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) with live bullets near the Al-Kuwaiti roundabout, in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
Yassin was shot and killed by IOF soldiers during an attack on the roundabout area, while several others were wounded in the assault, all of whom were transported to Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
In another attack, occupation air forces bombed a civilian residence in the Hassan al-Banna area of Gaza City, wounding at least six civilians.
On Thursday evening, intense airstrikes targeted a gathering of civilians in the Al-Bureij Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 5 Palestinians, including a child, while a number of wounded were also reported, with casualties taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
In a simultaneous strike, Zionist warplanes bombarded civilians on Al-Nafaq Street in Gaza City, slaughtering three more Palestinians and wounding many others. The casualties were transported to Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in the city.
In another atrocity, occupation fighter jets bombed the Al-Salam neighborhood, east of Rafah City, in Gaza's south, murdering two Palestinian civilians.
The Zionist entity's war crimes continued when IOF warplanes bombarded a residential home belonging to the Shaheen family, in the Al-Zahur neighborhood of Rafah, resulting in the martyredom of six family members, including a mother and her five children, and wounding several others.
Yet another airstrike by IOF aircraft hit a residential home belonging to the Sheikh Al-Eid family, in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah City, resulting in at least 10 casualties, while 9 more civilians were wounded in an occupation bombing on the Al-Bureij Refugee Camp.
The massacres continued when occupation warplanes bombed near the Rafah crossing, killing two civilians, while Israeli jets repeatedly bombarded the Al-Salam neighborhood, east of Rafah.
In another murder, an Israeli occupation drone opened gunfire on a civilian in the Al-Salam neighborhood, killing a young Palestinian man named Imad Sabah.
The slaughter went on with a bombing that targeted the Mufti's land, north of the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip, wounding several people, while occupation fighter jets destroyed three residential buildings in the vicinity of the power plant in central Gaza.
As a result of "Israel's" ongoing special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, the death toll among the local population has risen further still, now exceeding 34'622, including over 14'690 children and 9'680 women, while another 77'867 others have been wounded since the start of the current round of Zionist aggression, beginning with the events of October 7th, 2023.

More Highlights From the SOLDIER Group Chat
• Every time someone makes a grammatical mistake and butchers the English language, Genesis sends a copy of the Rosetta stone.
• Kunsel changing the group chat name to The Bad Bitch Brigade™
• Angeal's phone and microphone are broken as hell, but he refused to buy a new phone while his still works, so all of his audio messages make him sound like a chipmunk.
• Roche accidentally sent his "most to least attractive" list to the group chat. Genesis was at the very bottom. Genesis didn't shut up for six hours.
• Every time Sephiroth is questioned about something uncomfortable he responds with a model-esque selfie.
Lazard: Sephiroth did you break the training room again???
Sephiroth: *sends a picture perfect selfie of himself basking in the sunlight*
• Zack using the group chat as his personal journal until Lazard told him to stop because "No one wants to hear about the sweet potato shaped like a penis you had for lunch, Zackary, nor do we want to hear about the life advice the drunkard in sector 7 keeps giving you"
• On a similar note, Genesis uses the group chat as his personal to-do list. Lazard also had him stop after the items started getting more and more concerning. The last straw was:
1) Buy fireworks
2) Buy enough duct tape to hold a grown man
3) Summon Sephiroth to the rooftop at midnight
• Director Lazard thought the "😂" emoji meant a sad crying face, so he sent "I regret to inform you all that Mrs. Helen Thompson from the finance office has passed away 😂 💀"
• The day Genesis changed the group chat name to "LOVELESS study club" and began sending his LOVELESS analysis. Everyone left the group chat immediately. Including Lazard.
• The morning everyone hurried to the group chat to see why there were 5K messages. It turns out Kunsel and Zack were RP-ing.
• Sephiroth not knowing that "I'm dying" means the person is laughing. He twice sent paramedics to Genesis's office.
• Angeal, the admin, getting drunk and changing everyone's screen names to something ridiculous.
Sephiroth, Genesis and Zack became Mommy Issues, Used To Eat Chalk When We Were Six, and Hedgehog On Crack.
• Upon figuring out how to change the group chat name, Sephiroth changed it to The Mystery Penis™ Is [Redacted] and then turned his phone off.
• Zack sending a joke picture of him and Kunsel holding hands. Kunsel has hairy fingers so Angeal immediately responds with "WHAT DID YOU DO TO AERITH?"
• Sephiroth learns he doesn't need to respond to every messages and can instead use the reaction feature. This leads to gems such as:
Sephiroth reacted to - Genesis: SEPHIROTH, YOU LIMP DICK, DID YOU TELL LAZARD THAT I STOLE THE POPCORN MACHINE IN THE BREAK ROOM???: 👍
• Angeal changing the group chat name to "Dr. Phil audition tapes"
• Roche selling a used hair dryer and advertising it on the group chat as "USED HAIR, GOOD CONDITION, $20 GIL FREE SHIPPING
• That of course is followed by a mass advertisment spam where everyone is trying to sell their used products. Genesis in particular gets removed from the group chat for "ASSORTED TOYS, NEVER USED, SOLD TO ADULTS ONLY, $ 50 GIL A PIECE + AUTOGRAPH
• Genesis being removed allows Zack to advertise "BOX OF RANDOM SHIT I STOLE FROM GENESIS'S APARTMENT"
• Cloud, an infantryman who's secretly been a part of the group this whole time, finally outs himself the day Reno is discovered to be hiding in the group chat undercover.
• He sent this image:

💌 Who Are You?...💌 (??? Co-Worker X Plus Size Female Reader) Part One
Tumblr media
Another day, Another night of missing him. Despite the fact that the photo slightly hung crooked on the wall, Y/n couldn't bring up the courage to move from it.
It brought up cherished memories that happened in her home, The warmth from remembering those moments made Y/n smile but most importantly one memory always seemed to make her cry....the last few moments of seeing her boyfriend for the last time.
Sure, She and Ethan had hit some rough bumps in their relationship by the time he disappeared, Ethan lying to her about mysterious new contacts on his phone, The group chat he had started with his buddies disrespecting her behind her back, Her purse with paychecks from her job disappearing, Coincidentally at the same time he had bought a new video game or a 6 pack of beer.
At the start of their relationship, He had been the perfect gentleman but now thinking back on the past, Y/n now realised...He was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
She walked past the frame, Shaking away the bad memories before locking the door and started the short drive to work, Feeling better after turning on the radio and humming along to the catchy tune playing.
After parking as close as she could to the security booth, Y/n stepped inside and started the process of getting ready for the night by setting up the two monitors in the small booth.
One that had the names and license plates for every employee that was stationed for the night and the other monitor showed the various CCTV cameras around the building.
She couldn’t help but wonder what was inside the building that required only a few employees working odd shifts at night.
The B.E.Y.O.N.D project had been working in a small sector in the city before moving to an abandoned factory and claiming ownership within a couple of weeks.
They had a press conference, Announcing that they were moving forward with ideas that were 100% guaranteed to change the world but Y/n couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the thought of it, It took a lot of effort to change the world but one month?…No chance.
Y/n sat down on her chair, Putting on a smile as the employees scheduled for the night made their way towards her little booth. Some of the workers were nice and patient with Y/n, Understanding that she was just doing her job to keep the company safe, Others threatened to report her to management.
But one person always made her smile as she heard the familiar knocking on the window, Holding up a cup as he entered the booth, Smiling down at her.
"Got your favourite darling, Flat white with chocolate sprinkles" Vincent may have started a few months ago but he always stopped by her booth to spent what few breaks he had beside her. He always made sure Y/n was well to what other workers described as 'stalkerish'.
She couldn't have asked for a better friend, Asking for advice and having a shoulder to cry on whenever Y/n thought about Ethan leaving her. Vincent always helped her out no matter the time or even if he wasn't supposed to be on break.
"Thank you Vincent!, You always seem to appear whenever I need a coffee, Are you sure you're not psychic?", Smiling as she heard him laugh, Having a seat beside her.
"We've been over this, I just have special skills that allow me to help you out" Unaware of the smirk he had as she took a sip of the coffee, Licking a sprinkle from the corner of her mouth as she placed the cup on the table.
"What would I ever do without yooou...." She soon felt dizzy as she quickly placed her hands onto the desk, Struggling to keep her balance as Vincent rubbed her back, Trying to take slow deep breaths to try and get rid of the sickly feeling she was experiencing.
"Are you alright love?, Just keep taking deep breaths for me and everything will be alright" She listened to him, Feeling safe as his hand moved up and down her back....Why did she want his hands around her?
A large blast caused Y/n to be flung against the floor with several sirens started to ring, The windows of the booth shattered and glass covered the entire floor, Alongside all the car alarms going off repeatedly.
She tried to sit up but Y/n soon saw her vision start to fade, Feeling the urge to close her eyes as Vincent came over and picked her up delicately like a doll. “Rest your eyes my darling, Soon...All your troubles will fade away”
Y/n followed his command and started to close her eyes, Hearing two heartbeats coming from his chest but gave it no thought as she fell into a deep slumber.
Tumblr media
🛸TimeSkip🛸
Y/n slowly started to wake up, Feeling strange before starting to remember what had happened. Y/n felt groggy as she started to open her eyes, Turning over before noticing something strange.
She wasn't in the security booth. She wasn't at home. Where was she?
The bedroom she was in was decorated elegantly with strange symbols engraved in a blue shimmer before turning her attention towards the door as she heard knocking before it opened.
“Good morning darling” Her eyes widened at the voice, Sitting up with a shock but what she saw wasn't Vincent. The 'creature' in front of her had golden eyes with no pupils, Dark blue skin with a tail that had a spade like-shape at the end of it. His smile seemed genuine to her as he approached Y/n, Taking a seat at the edge of the bed.

Hey so I’m a uni student IE very poor and I really like GMless games so I wondering if there is any free or pay what you feel like GM less games? Bonus points for either cute animal type games, world building or superpowers game.
THEME: Free/Cheap GM-Less Games
Hello friend, I think I have a really awesome collection of games for you to try out. I tried to focus on lighthearted games that fit at least one of your themes. All of these games are either free or pay-what-you-want!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rats in Space, by Jay Writes.
The year is 2392. A colony of rats have found themselves stowed away on the Endeavor, a cruise-class luxury spaceship. They live in the lower decks, nibbling on wires, stealing the engineer’s lunches, fighting off pest-bots. It’s a simple life. One day, a member of the colony discovered something: Velindian Cheese, the most treasured kind of cheese to all rats in the sector, hidden in the ship’s Kitchen. The colony got together, and they have decided: they must get that cheese!
Rats in Space is a one-page GM-less TTRPG where you and your friends take on the role of Rats on a spaceship. Your mission is to get the Cheese that's hidden away in the ship's kitchen. A silly game with psychic rats, robot cats, and depressed space captains.
This is a goofy little game with a simple enough premise: get the Cheese. You set your little rats up with stats, and then roll on the Inspiration table to determine what obstacles are standing in the way. Conquer three obstacles and you’ll get your hand on a little cheesy snack! However, if you lose your collective morale, you are forced to panic and scatter - and no Cheese for you. Rats in Space is great for light-hearted hi-jinx, and is very very cute.
Class Protector, by Chloe Sutherland.
Strange things happen in your high school. Horrors lurk in the dark, unnoticed by most in the school. Fortunately, there’s one person who always seems to be in the right place at the right time. She’ll deny it but all the gossip ties back to her and the unexplainable powers she seems to wield.
You are not the Chosen One. You are everyone else.
A simple GM-less game using a deck of cards. Act as the students of a high school secretly under threat from the supernatural, develop the Class Protector and her mysterious power through their rumours, then discover which theories were correct.
Class Protector is a game of high school bystanders creating a superhero through myths and rumours. You’ll take turns drawing cards and using prompts to help you figure out who exactly your protector is and what she can do. During the final round, you’ll witness her fight with the Big Bad, and determine how many rumours are actually true - and whether you survive. If you like a game with suspense, told from a unique point of view, you might like this game.
The Guides of MechaFauna Valley, by BESW.
“THE GUIDES OF MECHAFAUNA” by B. West is a game made for children, by a young park ranger barely out of childhood themself. I reproduce it here as I found it: photocopied on a sheaf of mint and salmon office paper, the pasted-on images sometimes almost illegible. But the game is playable and the glimpse of my friend’s future childhood is captivating.
This game is described as a cooperative, feel-good card-using roleplaying game. It is a game about a caravan of travellers making their way through a national park populated by mechanical beasts. As guides, you are responsible for ensuring that the caravan makes it through safely without endangering the local wildlife. The game expects all players to play a Valley Guide, but there is also a character sheet that is available for the group to use together: The Valley Voice. This game is currently still in beta, so it looks like another character sheet is in the works!
While there are still pieces missing, this is already a 20-page game with a hefty oracle full of prompts. If you like a game about exploration and adventure, but without the pressure of character endangerment, you’ll probably like this game.
Star-Spawned, by Penguin King Games. (@prokopetz)
One unearthly night, a ray of colourless light descended from the stars, and under its warping radiance, creatures unlike any the world has ever seen were born. They do not know the world, and they do not know themselves. Unfortunately for the world, they're quick learners!
Star-Spawned is a GMless, oneshot-oriented tabletop RPG in which you don't know what your own traits do when play begins. The names of each group's stats are randomly generated using morpheme chaining, and characters are created while having absolutely no idea what they mean; figuring that out forms the greater part of play.
Star-Spawned is a world-building game in that you discover the world as you discover yourselves. Players generate Facets and assign ratings to them without knowing what those facets do beforehand, and then experiment with their use as they play. Players will take turns describing what they want to do, and when one character takes the spotlight, the rest of the table provides the setting details. You finish the game when you have a definition for each facet on your Discovery sheet.
This game has a lot of breadth, and can explore a lot of different settings and kinds of adventure, and the place where you start will probably determine a lot about the tone of your game. If you enjoy randomness and figuring out a mystery together, you might like Star-Spawned.
Wonderfall Reinvigorated, by J.C. Pereira.
In this violence free, diceless and GMless game, you play as curious kids who are living in a hotel and secretly transform into pets. Your goal is to reinvigorate Wonderfall by befriending the leaving villagers and guiding the sparse visitors, to make this town habitable again. Uncover truths while growing up in this outlandish town.
This is an exploration game more than anything else. Players each create a town secret, and use drawing references to build the Hotel and its surrounding locations. You draw cards to help determine the kinds of locations that you’ll visit. The game comes with a bunch of random tables for character creation, locations, secrets, NPC information and more. You’ll draw cards from the Destiny deck every time you need to overcome a challenge, and use Aces to represent their hobbies that will help them solve problems.
I like the ways this game gives your characters adventure without resorting to violence to solve their problems. I think this game has a lot of potential to tell Studio Ghibli-like stories, so if you like that genre, you might like this game.
RPG From the Other Side, by stuffed tern.
a wizard has transformed one of your bandmates into a large raccoonyou’re going on a quest to change them backbefore they forget who they arethe band’s all coming with you (yes, even the raccoon) the power of music is on your side. you will see this through.
RPG FROM THE OTHER SIDE is a one-page TTRPG for one or more friends embarking on a quest of music and mayhem.
The text mentions a GM, but GM-less play is possible with players doing collaborative storytelling, or using a system such as Trophy.
This is a simple one-page rpg with a humorous premise - you’re trying to turn your raccoon band-mate back into their human self. Setup includes determining your goal, your characters, and your special weapon or ability. Your characters have a resource called Stardust, which gives you d6s to roll in challenging situations. You can spend Stardust to lend aid to a teammate, or lose it when you take harm, but you can also gain it back if you give up a memory that you cherish.
There aren’t any prompts to help guide your play after the initial setup, so this game is best suited for a group that is comfortable with a lot of improv.
2 Month Magical Girl, by Dondougo.
In 2 Month Magical Girl, you play as ordinary magical girls. Your days are relatively ordinary, as you study and hang out at school. At night you hit the town, as well as the various malicious magical beings that prowl it. You make memories, you make friends, and the next day you wake up and do it all again!
But something's changed, and things are getting weirder by the day. Illegible symbols are appearing everywhere, the weather is stuck in a cloudy haze. What's even weirder is that your magical powers seem to be hiding something from you. As if they're trying to keep you from understanding the truth behind what's really going on.
With time running out, you're left wondering what else is being hidden from you and what it all means. What will you do when the truth is finally revealed?
This is the chunkiest game on this list, with 98 pages of rules, lore and character options. There are 5 playbooks to choose from, making character creation relatively simple to follow, and a font of roll tables to help facilitate GM-less play. Definitely worth checking out!

(13 sentinels spoilers under the cut) some dumb ideas for post-game destruction modes💥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok so the 'alternate ending' was just meant to be a joke (like how drv3 rewards you with an 'ending' for beating the near-impossible platformer) but then i thought...what if kisaragi's group was the one that managed to shift instead of ida?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
32yo 3rd gen group in sector 1...(sorry i can't decide on hiji's hairstyle i'll make a better one one day) (also bonus some kids who grew up in sector 4..their names are a mystery)
how can this game keep driving me insane with non-existent au 💀

i totally get that i tried not to watch it all at once too but failed epically 💔 anyway i really love the way you write chishiya’s thoughts and point of view so i was thinking something post-series where he finds the reader again, like their version arisu/usagi reuniting and the deja vu they feel !
Helooo! It was difficult writing this one because I don't want to encroach on the ending to my fic. So I had to make a completely different reunion instead.
I think it's funny though. When the characters don't remember each other in the series, it's tragic. But when it's a romantic pair who don't remember each other, but they each seem familiar, somehow it's sort of romantic. In a tragic way.
Anyway, let me know if you want a part 2!
--------------------------------------------------------
One minute.
That was all it took for the axis of your world to tilt, changing forever.
The world had never been so lively, and yet so empty. It had only been one week since the meteor’s impact, and even in that short time, the communities across Tokyo’s 23 wards had banded together, rebuilding businesses and homes, donating to charities who cleared rubble and funded survivors’ treatments, taking in children who had been left orphaned.
But the wreckage still remained in plain sight. Not just in the demolished sectors of Shibuya, but in your heart. This emptiness. Like a constant shiver, even the warmth of the sun wasn’t enough to drive out this hollowness. You had suffered cardiac arrest for just sixty seconds, but it felt as though you had been gone for weeks.
Months, even.
Trapped, suffering somewhere else in a faraway land.
And now that you were back, nothing was the same. Your arm was still almost unusable, and would be until your scheduled surgery to repair the nerve damage. But that didn’t bother you. Your injuries were simply collateral damage. There was something else missing - a hole in your life carved out like the crater on the other side of the city.
And that’s why you found yourself here, sitting in a stuffy meeting room in the hospital. The chairs were arranged in a perfect circle, and written on a whiteboard, the words ‘Meteor Crisis Trauma Recovery Programme’ just felt patronising. Aside from yourself, nobody else had arrived yet.
You were so bored sitting here alone, and the room was too warm, too humid. A bead of sweat trickled down the back of your neck, but the thought of relaxing by a pool in a swimsuit felt oddly uncomfortable.
When will everyone else get here?
Playing with the gauze material of your sling, you jumped when the door finally opened, revealing a patient you had never seen before. A man in a wheelchair with shoulder length blond hair. Was it blond or silver? A strange mixture of both. A nurse held the door open for him as he wheeled himself into the room, before allowing the door to shut softly behind him. He looked at the writing on the whiteboard, scrutinising it with a lazy curiosity.
And then your eyes met.
There was a flicker in your chest. A memory. Of something strange? Blood trickling from a bullet wound… foliage so overgrown it was winding around the bodies of cars… distant gunshots from out in the city… a hotel, burning like an inferno against the night sky.
This couldn’t be right. They weren’t your memories.
You played with the strap of your bag, avoiding his gaze. But the mysterious man wheeled up into the space directly across from yours, and it became harder to ignore him.
‘I’m assuming I’m in the right room.’
His voice was deep, a little husky with tiredness, and strangely familiar though you had never heard it before.
‘If you’re here for the trauma group,’ you said.
‘Your arm?’
‘Ah… yeah. I got stuck under bricks.’
He didn’t have any visible injuries that I could see, but then he tilted his head and a bandage could be seen peeking through the collar of his blue hospital gown. ‘Pierced by two building rods,’ he said.
‘Ouch. You’re lucky you lived.’ A thought suddenly occurred to you. ‘Did you also go into cardiac arrest?’
‘One minute.’
‘So you too, huh?’ You mulled it over, the strangeness of all this. ‘Do you think it’s really possible? What are the chances of this many people suffering a one minute cardiac arrest at the same time?’
‘It’s possible,’ he said, ‘because it happened.’
You looked at him closer, less wary of him now. But those strange memories still persisted, haunting the recesses of your mind behind a thick wall of fog. From the darker roots of his hair, to the mole under his eye, the slight smirk playing on his lips. It was like running into an old friend, but you definitely hadn’t met before.
‘Chishiya,’ he said.
That’s his name?
You introduced yourself too, and quickly dismissed the writing on the whiteboard. ‘I’m not actually traumatised. I got peer pressured into being here by my nurse.’
He half-smiled. ‘I’m here to escape the guy in the next bed over. His coughing is getting annoying.’
Maybe Chishiya also felt the way you did. Maybe he also felt this strange familiarity. You opened your mouth to ask, but then the door opened and several others entered the room, followed by the hospital staff member running the session.
It was the same people every time; a man with a patch over one eye - the eye he lost… a teenage girl who had lost her leg, also in a wheelchair… a woman who suffered burns across her body, but who was really here after losing her baby… another woman with long, beautiful braids… A couple of the others were new faces you had never seen.
The session began the way it always did, going around the circle and stating something you’re grateful for. More often than not, people just gave up thinking and replied with ‘my life’. When it came to your turn, you answered with ‘family’. Similar responses echoed around the room, until it came to Chishiya’s turn.
‘The peace and quiet,’ he said, without hesitation.
You snickered, trying to hold back your smile. The group leader smiled in confusion, as did most people, but Chishiya’s eyes met yours across the circle, sharing in your amusement.
The rest of the session was a snoozefest, and in truth it was all very difficult to listen to. Uou were grateful when it ended and everyone stood to leave. Aside from Chishiya, of course. Gathering your things, you slung your bag onto your uninjured shoulder as best you could. However, as you made to leave, you realised that Chishiya was waiting for everyone else to vacate the room first… yourself included. You stopped in front of his chair.
‘I’d offer to push you, but, you know.’ You gestured to your sling.
He smirked. ‘If you want to help, you could hold the door open.’
And because he asked so nicely, you did. He wheeled himself out into the corridor and you followed behind. Neither of you had asked where the other was going, but you silently followed Chishiya, presumably back to his room. If he minded, he didn’t say anything.
Maybe, on second thought, this was the perfect time to say something.
‘Hey, can I ask you a question about the meteor incident?’
He didn’t reply, but you could tell he was listening.
‘After I woke up, everything felt strange. It still does. Like I’ve spent weeks in a different place, but I can’t remember where I’ve been all this time. And sometimes I remember random things that don’t make sense. The colour red scares me, and I keep finding scars but I can’t remember what caused them. And fireworks… I remember seeing fireworks, but they were fireworks right across Toyko. Everywhere.’ I didn’t tell him about what I’d remembered after seeing him. ‘Have you felt anything similar? Has anything changed since you woke up?’
He hummed. ‘That’s two questions.’
‘Please just tell me I’m not going crazy.’
His eyes narrowed. ‘You’re not. After I woke up, I realised I was wasting my life. I remember strange things too… like lasers.’
Lasers! Lasers are red.
It was an oddly specific thing to remember, but so was grass and leaves growing over cars. Were they just figments of your imagination? After-effects of cardiac arrest? The two of you slowly made your way through the hospital, bypassing physicians and nurses who marched around, trying to manage the new influx of patients after the accident. Eventually, Chishiya came to a stop by a door.
The door to his hospital room.
He looked at you slyly. ‘Are you going to follow me inside too?’
‘No! Of course not.’ You instinctively took a step back. ‘I actually wanted to ask you something else. You seem really familiar, but I can’t remember where I might have met you.’
He tilted his head. ‘That wasn’t a question.’
‘No, but would you consider meeting up one day? Maybe when you’re discharged from this place. I think… I think I remember lasers too.’
He mulled over the offer with a face that betrayed nothing. ‘Can you play chess?’
Chess?
‘Yeah, but I’m not very good.’
‘It doesn’t matter,’ he said. ‘Come back tomorrow and bring a chess board. It’s boring staring out of the window.’
Something shifed in your chest, a spark of excitement, and for one split second that emptiness had lifted. You beamed, unable to hold back your joy. ‘I’ll be there!’
Chishiya regarded you with skepticism. ‘I don’t see why you’re so excited, you haven’t met my roommate yet.’
As if summoned, a brash slur sounded from behind the closed door. ‘Oi! Nurse Lady, aren’t you going to change my bandages or what?’
Inside, there was a female shriek, and the door swiftly opened as a startled nurse hurried out. You shied away, unnerved already. What kind of weirdo was Chishiya rooming with, anyway? You didn’t relish the thought of meeting this guy, especially if he was willing to treat a nurse that way. However, Chishiya was unfazed by what we had just witnessed.
‘Does that happen a lot?’
‘Unfortunately,’ he huffed. ‘I wouldn’t look so worried. He’s bedridden with burns, so he’s all talk.’
‘If you say so,’ you mumbled, eyeing the door warily. You didn’t like the idea of meeting this mysterious roommate, but you wanted - no, you needed - to figure out what these memories meant.
Promising to bring a chessboard next time, you parted ways with Chishiya. As you walked away, you were exquisitely aware of his eyes following you, and deep down, you know he felt it too. This magnetic pull between you.
But what did it mean?

The 2023 Fireworks - Ministry of Joy Retrospective
Tumblr media
So this is a fun one... Aaand a good two months overdue, my apologies! I've been super caught up with life and it's taken over my ability to create, but I hope to be making more things in the new year.
The 2023 Fireworks were fascinating in many regards and I do hope to make a post hoping to cover some of the theories surrounding its lore, as while it wasn't as lore heavy as other years the implications and reinforcement of existing theories and lore points has me really intrigued. More and more I've been focusing on the lore of the entire park and I really should write more about it but for now this is just about the X-Sector segment of the 2023 fireworks!
Some Backstory
The Ministry of Joy truly had their claws in the 2023 season, because the 2023 fireworks had some truly fascinating lore tidbits about them that were a continuation from the Smiler Takeover event earlier in the season. The shadowy organisation, formerly lurking in the wings, has let themselves be a little more at the forefront in The Smiler's tenth year of operation.
I do adore the new lore additions despite being quiet on them. Far from being too gaudy as I initially feared, it really showed the sinister side of the Ministry while still keeping it quite lighthearted. But my opinion isn't what we're here for!
Wait, was that not The Smiler?
"Welcome advocates to the laughter laboratory! It's time to receive your daily dose of Ministry of Joy approved happiness. A whizzing, spinning, topsy turvy, rib-tickling test drive of your funny bone to make your senses soar!"
The 2023 Fireworks' X-Sector segment was run by the Ministry of Joy, rather than The Smiler! It's something we've seen before to an extent - with the 2022 Festival of Thrills Fireworks' Smiler segment being presented by the Ministry despite using The Smiler's music taste, but this year the music was hugely associated with the different facets of the MoJ.
It seems we're in a bit of a Thrills arc at the moment. Festival of Thrills has been going on for the past 2 years as a continuation of the Powers of the Towers arc that's currently ongoing, and over the course of the events we've seen a lot of new lore implementations and confirmations of fanon. It's certainly an interesting direction and I love the new emphasis on the groups of the park. If we're doing group things, Towers.. Can we bring Galactica as a whole and specifically the Galactanauts back? Rita's racing team maybe?
It's all Festival of Thrills, All the Way Down
The three segments of the X-Sector section of the Fireworks for 2023 was likely based on the three shows of Festival of Thrills.
youtube
Celebration of Happiness
youtube
youtube
The Fear Lab
youtube
and Meet The Ministry!
Overall the songs of the sections fit this theory very well. From celebratory and maybe a bit cheesy, straight into thrilling and dark, and finally to mysterious and a bit wacky. It encompasses the themes and motifs of the Ministry of Joy coherently, but also touches on the three shows specifically very nicely!
But it's not just that, there is.. Even more to this rabbit hole of a segment and I won't be able to commentate on all of it today so I'll leave it at just a few more points. This is a far cry from where we were even just four years ago, sitting on lore that hadn't been explored for far too long, and now we're even deeper into the veritable warren of untouched lore potential.
So.. About That Narrator.
This is a bit of a weird one and I'll admit that immediately. He speaks.. Strangely. It's as though he's upturning the ends of every word, creating an almost "uncanny valley" way of speaking, that speaks [no pun intended] to the nature of the Ministry of Joy. It's compelling, a jarring contrast to the narrator of the Katanga Canyon segment that came before it.
It sounds like this person is the voice of a Ministry of Joy announcement, maybe a start of day announcement, or something done intermittently within the facility to remind Advocates to Smile. Always. Certainly it's not the first evidence we'd have of this, looking back at Festival of Thrills.
It's nice to have some more information about life within the Ministry of Joy's main facility. I talked more about it in a post about Festival of Thrills in general, but I do need to talk even more about it because the entire event is again just.. Such a rabbit hole and I'm honoured to have been able to go so many times. Sidenote, I apologise for linking so many of my videos, but I did a lot of lore documentation work during the event that I'm super proud of and it's all on my youtube channel and some of it is very compelling, like the whole spider thing. I will write about that soon I promise.
All Good Things Must Come To An End..
This likely won't be the last post about the 2023 Fireworks nor indeed about the Ministry of Joy lore from the past year or so. There's a lot to cover, and while I've been covering a lot of it in my videos I definitely need to put more stock into writing down what I'm thinking and amending previous theories with current knowledge. Maintaining the Masterpost is a lot of work and it takes me many many hours every time I alter anything within it or even just add a new post. That said.. Happy holidays. I hope you have a good one, and I wish you all the best possible time.
Also.. There might be a meme video before the end of the year. Or several. You've been warned.

Best Underrated Anime Group I Round 1: #I8 vs #I1
#I8: Magical girl club gets silly and depressing
In her everyday life, Yuuna Yuuki is a hero. As proof, she is in her middle school's Hero Club, where she does her best to help others and bring a smile to everyone's face.
But Yuuna, always up to any task, is about to become an even bigger hero. Mysterious destructive forces called Vertexes begin threatening the world she loves, and the Hero Club is called upon by a strange phone app to save it. Along with her best friend Mimori Tougou, as well as sisters Fuu and Itsuki Inubouzaki, they must transform into magical girls in order to battle the Vertexes.
Tumblr media
#I1: The 86 are forced to fight someone else’s war.
According to the Republic of San Magnolia, their ongoing war against the Giadian Empire has no casualties—however, that is mere propaganda. While the silver-haired Alba of the Republic's eighty-five sectors live safely behind protective walls, those of different appearances are interned in a secret eighty-sixth faction. Known within the military as the Eighty-Six, they are forced to fight against the Empire's autonomous Legion under the command of the Republican "Handlers."
Vladilena Milizé is assigned to the Spearhead squadron to replace their previous Handler. Shunned by her peers for being a fellow Eighty-Six supporter, she continues to fight against their inhumane discrimination. Shinei Nouzen is the captain of the Spearhead squadron. Infamous for being the sole survivor of every squadron he's been in, he insists on shouldering the names and wishes of his fallen comrades.
Titles, propagandas, trailers, and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#I8: Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero (Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru)
youtube
Propaganda:
I adored this show from the moment I watched it because throughout it all, it’s hopeful. These girls go through a lot. A LOT. A lot of horrible, horrible things, and yet they bounce back. These girls bounce back pretty much every single time and do anything to help their friends do the same. To me, that is insanely inspiring.
The cast of characters here are also insanely compelling. They feel like actual, real friends—doing things together, hanging out, comforting each other and laughing with them all the same. This point I feel helps that sense of hope this show has absolutely.
The character designs in general too are absolutely breathtaking, and are nothing like I’ve ever seen from any other magical girl anime. Also, one last thing: this show’s soundtrack is done by MONACA. MONACA is also known for doing the first two NieR games. Take that what you will :)
Trigger Warnings: Flashing Lights, Self-Harm, Suicide
Tumblr media
#I1: 86 (Eighty-Six)
youtube
Propaganda:
The characterization and character development in this show is amazing. It also has a very good depiction of survivor’s guilt/mental health, which you don’t see a lot. The animation is great and the soundtrack is done by Hiroyuki Sawano, who’s amazing and it’s one of the best soundtracks for a show ever.
Trigger Warnings: Child Abuse, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore, Racism, Suicide.
A main subject of the show is racism. Active war, lots of violence. Character acts without regard for their life, so suicide was included. Child abuse relates to the backstory of a character.
Tumblr media
If you’re reblogging and adding your own propaganda, please tag me @best-underrated-anime so that I’ll be sure to see it.
