Jack Hughes had always been the most beautiful person you'd ever seen.
Not just physically, he'd always been one of the sweetest people you'd ever met. He genuinely cared about how you were feeling and listened attentively when you spoke. His kindness and compassion were qualities that drew you to him from the very beginning.
But it wasn't just his sweet personality that captivated you; it was the way he looked at you with those mesmerizing eyes, filled with warmth and kindness. Whenever he gazed into your eyes, it felt like he was seeing straight into your soul, understanding you in a way that no one else ever had. But never in the way that you wanted.
Every time he smiled, it lit up the room any room he was in, and your heart simultaneously. His laughter was infectious, and being around him brought a sense of joy and happiness that was unparalleled.
He'd always been the special one in the room, with his skills on the ice or his undeniable beauty. It wasn't Jack's fault that he had such an effect on people; it was simply a consequence of his charm and charisma. What sometimes made you feel inadequate was the way other girls looked at him, with admiration and longing in their eyes.
Every time you saw him with those adoring eyes gazing at another girl, it was like a dagger to your heart. What hurt most though, was the way he looked back at them. His gaze held a attraction and desire that you craved, but it was a warmth he reserved for them, not ever for you.
You couldn't fault him for it; he couldn't control where his heart led him. You watched him from a distance, silently cheering him on in his pursuits of happiness, even when it meant seeing him with someone else.
Yet, despite the pain it caused you, you couldn't help but be there for him when he needed it. Whenever he faced heartbreak or disappointment, you were the one he turned to for comfort and understanding. It was bittersweet, being the person he leaned on while secretly thinking how you could never ever hurt him the way those other girls did. Your heart ached every time he told you about his the girls, and you would listen attentively, offering advice and consolation. You wanted to be the one to mend his broken heart, to make him see that you were right there, loving him in a way no one else ever could. But you kept those feelings locked away, hidden beneath the guise of friendship.
And you knew he loved you, he truly did. He would just never love you the way you'd always wanted. You felt selfish for wanting more. He was already yours in some regard, others would dream of being that close to the Jack Hughes. You were already an important part of his life, someone he trusted and cared about. Being close to Jack Hughes in any capacity was a dream come true for most, and you felt incredibly fortunate to have him as a friend.
But deep down, you couldn't help the longing that tugged at your heartstrings. You couldn't help the desire for something more, something that went beyond friendship. It was a complex mix of emotions, and you grappled with the guilt of wanting something that might change the dynamic between you two.
It was hard seeing him repeating those mistakes over and over again, and him running back to you wishing he had someone to love him fully and truly, for who he was. You often found yourself on the verge of screaming, wanting to shout, "What about me? Don't you see what's right in front of you?!" But you remained silent, as you always did, playing the role of the understanding friend who listened without judgment.
And each time he came to you with a broken heart, you wished he could recognize the depth of your love, the unwavering support you offered, and the fact that you were right there, ready to love him fully and unconditionally. But it seemed that he was blind to your feelings, or perhaps he was simply too caught up in his own search for love to notice what was right in front of him.
It seemed everyone else saw how much you loved him, Quinn giving you sympathetic smiles and Luke giving you advice. They saw the way you looked at Jack when he wasn't watching, the way your eyes held a mixture of adoration and hurt. They noticed how you were always there for him, ready to offer a comforting word or a reassuring hug when he needed it the most. It wasn't just your words or actions that revealed your love; it was the unwavering presence you provided in his life.
And so, you continued to sit still and listen, even when every fiber of your being screamed for him to see you, to love you, and to choose you. Your love for him remained a silent, unspoken truth, buried deep within your heart as you watched him repeat his relationship mistakes, hoping that one day, he would finally realize the love that had always been right beside him.
He was always grateful for your presence and care until he wasn't. Until he started taking you for granted, choosing his shiny new friends over you.
The pain of unrequited love was compounded by the feeling of being cast aside, as if your friendship and support no longer held the same value they once did. You couldn't help but wonder if he had forgotten all the times you had been there for him, the countless moments you had shared.
It was a painful realization that the person you loved so deeply was no longer the same person who had once cherished you. And yet, you couldn't bring yourself to walk away, holding onto the hope that one day he would remember the bond you had shared and the love that had always been there, waiting for him to see.
──
"Where have you been?!" Ellen, Jack's mom, exclaimed as you walked into the Hughes' lake house. She immediately walked over to you, embracing you tightly.
Over the past couple months, you had declined numerous invitations to Hughes family events over the past couple of months. You had told them that school was taking up most of your time, which was partly true. In reality, you just didn't want to see Jack.
"Just busy with school," you replied, returning her embrace warmly. Ellen Hughes had always been like a second mother to you, and her genuine concern warmed your heart.
Ellen held you at arm's length, her kind eyes studying your face. "You know, you don't have to disappear just because of school, sweetheart. You're always welcome here, no matter what."
Her words tugged at your heartstrings. You knew the Hughes family cared about you deeply, and it pained you to distance yourself from them as well. "I appreciate that, Ellen. It's just been a hectic semester, but I promise I'll make more time for you guys."
The bond between you and the Hughes family ran deep. You had known Jack and his brothers since childhood, and your connection had only grown stronger over the years. You were there for them through thick and thin, and they, in turn, had become an integral part of your life. You'd been close with the family since you were young, you'd been there for the brothers since day one.
From building sandcastles at the beach during summer vacations to sharing secrets by the campfire during family camping trips, your memories with the Hughes brothers were countless. Ellen and Jim Hughes had always treated you like one of their own, and you felt a sense of belonging that was unmatched anywhere else.
As the years passed and feelings grew more complex, you found yourself at a crossroads. You had always been there for Jack, offering your support and friendship without reservation. However, as your feelings for him had deepened, it had become increasingly challenging to hide your true feelings. You couldn't risk damaging the close-knit relationship you had with the Hughes family, especially when you knew Jack didn't share the same romantic feelings.
So, you made the difficult decision to take a step back, to create some distance in the hope that you could regain control over your heart. It wasn't an easy choice, and it meant missing out on moments with the family that had become a second home to you.
Ellen smiled, her eyes twinkling with understanding. "We've missed you, sweetheart. And I know someone else who's been missing you too."
Your heart skipped a beat at her words, and you couldn't help but wonder if Jack had noticed your absence more than you had expected.
"Luke! Sweetheart, look who's decided to show up!''
Oh, you've gotta be kidding me. Of course it wasn't Jack.
Your heart sank as Luke, Jack's younger brother, bounded into the room with excitement. You were confused, you loved Luke equally as Jack (you tried to convince yourself), but Luke wasn't exactly the most enthusiastic person when it came to you. Now, you knew something was up.
"Hey, you," Luke said with a warm smile, giving you a bear hug that nearly squeezed the air out of your lungs.
"Hey, Lukey," you replied, returning his hug with a raised eyebrow. Luke's behavior was unusual, and you couldn't help but wonder if something was going on.
As Luke pulled away, he scrutinized your expression. "You've been MIA for a while. School must really have you swamped."
You nodded, not trusting your voice to betray the mix of emotions you were feeling. Luke was perceptive, and you wondered if he had picked up on your recent distance.
Thankfully, Ellen chimed in, rescuing you from the awkward moment. "Well, we're just glad she's here now! Dinner will be ready soon, so you two catch up while I finish up in the kitchen."
With that, Ellen left you and Luke alone, and you couldn't shake the feeling that Luke's sudden warmth and attention meant that something was amiss in the Hughes household.
"What's up?" You cleared your throat, looking at Luke with a knowing expression.
"Well we all know why you've been really gone," Luke sighed as he glared at you. "You don't have to cut us all of just because Jack got a girlfriend."
"Jack got a girlfriend?" That felt like a dagger to the stomach. Luke's expression, once irritated, softened into one of sympathy as he nodded slowly.
"He didn't... tell you?"
You shook your head, struggling to find your voice. A whirlwind of emotions swirled within you – hurt, confusion, and the sting of betrayal. Jack hadn't confided in you about something as significant as this, and it hurt more than you cared to admit.
"Who is she?" you finally managed to ask, your voice a mere whisper.
Luke hesitated, as if debating how much to reveal. "Her name's Nicole," he began cautiously. "They've been dating for a few months now. It's been pretty serious, which is probably why he didn't want to... you know, complicate things."
You listened to Luke's explanation about Jack and Nicole while a storm of emotions raged within you. The pain of knowing Jack was in a serious relationship was difficult to bear, and the fact that he hadn't told you himself only added to your hurt. You felt like an outsider in his life, someone he had pushed aside.
But then, Luke's words took an unexpected turn, and your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "But that doesn't matter now, you have to move on and I have the perfect guy for you," he said, his tone surprisingly enthusiastic.
Oh, now everything made sense. It was clear that Luke had an ulterior motive, and you couldn't help but feel a little exasperated. "Luke, I appreciate your concern, but I don't think I'm ready for that kind of thing right now," you replied, trying to be polite even though you didn't appreciate the idea of being set up with one of his friends.
They were all fuck-boys from what you've heard. Luke would go into great detail every time you'd call him for an update. You had heard enough stories about Luke's friends to know that they were often more interested in casual relationships than anything serious.
"They were all fuck-boys from what you've told me," you said with a wry smile. Luke had a tendency to share his escapades in great detail, and you couldn't help but be amused by his candidness.
Luke chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, well, they can be a handful sometimes, but I promise this guy is different. He's actually a pretty decent guy, and I think you'd get along. Would I ever set you up for failure, Y/N?"
You raised an eyebrow, still skeptical. "And what's in it for you, Luke? Why are you so invested in setting me up with your friend?"
Luke's expression shifted, and for a moment, he looked genuinely serious. "Because I hate seeing you like this, distant from the family and hurting because of Jack. I just want you to be happy."
His words touched your heart, and you couldn't help but soften a bit. Luke may have had ulterior motives, but it seemed that his concern for your well-being was genuine.
"And um, well, I have a thing for his cousin." Luke cleared his throat and you couldn't help but playfully roll your eyes.
A playful smile tugged at your lips as Luke admitted his own motives. "Ah, I see how it is. A bit of matchmaking for both of us, then?"
Luke grinned, his boyish charm on full display. "Exactly! We help each other out, and everyone's happy."
You chuckled, feeling a sense of warmth and camaraderie with Luke. "Alright, fine Luke. Jeez, the things I do for you."
Luke laughed, appreciating your willingness to humor him. "You're the best, Y/N. You won't regret it, I promise."
──
Dinner had been ready and Ellen decided dinner would be fun outside. The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden glow over the lake, and the sound of crickets filled the air as the family gathered around a long, rustic wooden table set up on the deck, the same one they'd had a decade ago, when you were children.
You took a seat next in between Luke and Jim, Quinn across from you two and Jack nowhere to be found. Before you could ask, your question was answered.
"Where's Jack?" Ellen asked as she sat next to her husband.
"With Nicole," Luke and Quinn had mumbled in response as they both took knowing glances at you. You couldn't help but sigh, would you always be known the girl who's helplessly in love with Jack?
"Wow, you really outdid yourself, Ellen with this chicken. What did you do?" You tried to change the topic with a smile, as you ate dinner.
Ellen beamed at your compliment, clearly pleased that you appreciated her cooking. "Oh, I found it on the TikTok, it was amazing and so easy! You should start making it, it's so easy for school."
The conversation shifted towards discussing recipes and school, and you found it easier to participate in the lighthearted chatter. As the evening went on, you made an effort to focus on the present moment, enjoying the warmth of the Hughes family and pushing aside thoughts of Jack and his new relationship.
After dinner, you and Quinn helped Ellen with the dishes and you found yourself in deep conversation with them. The warmth of their company, along with the shared memories and laughter, made you realize that distancing yourself from the Hughes family wasn't the right course of action. They had been a significant part of your life for so long, and you cherished the bond you shared with them.
You were so engaged in conversation that you didn't hear footsteps that entered the kitchen.
"Hey,"
The sound of the familiar voice calling out "Hey" made your heart skip a beat. You turned around to find Jack standing there, a somewhat sheepish expression on his face. It had been a while since you'd seen him, and the mix of emotions stirred within you once more. And next to him, you assumed to be "Nicole." She looked sweet and you forced a smile at her.
"Hey," you replied, your voice friendly and polite as you acknowledged both Jack and Nicole. You couldn't help but notice the way they stood close to each other, the subtle intertwining of their fingers, and the affectionate glances they exchanged. It was a painful reminder of the gap that had grown between you and Jack.
"Hi, I'm Nicole," she introduced herself with a warm smile.
"Nice to meet you, Nicole. I'm Y/N," you replied, extending a hand for a friendly shake.
"Yeah, I know. These two don't ever stop talking about you." She laughed playfully and you felt heart start beating faster at the prospect of Jack talking about you to his girlfriend.
"Well it was mostly me─" Quinn tried to intervene before you laughed along with her, he was trying to soften the blow.
"Really? Well that's sweet," you replied with a warm smile, even though a small part of you wished Jack would stop talking about you to his girlfriend. It was a complex blend of emotions, wanting to be close to him but also wanting to distance yourself from the heartache.
Ellen smiled, "Well now that you're here, you all can finish the dishes and catch up,"
You nodded, "Okay, sure. Go relax, Ellen."
"Yep, and me." Before you could protest, Quinn left. He certainly didn't want to be there once you started "catching up." You cursed at Quinn in your head as he left the kitchen, alone with Jack and his girlfriend.
The clinking of dishes filled the kitchen as you, Jack, and Nicole worked together on the task at hand. You decided to break the silence with some light conversation.
"So, Nicole, how did you and Jack meet?" you asked, genuinely curious about their relationship.
Nicole smiled, her eyes lighting up. "We actually met at one of his hockey games. My friend had an extra ticket, and I've always been a fan of hockey, so I decided to go. I didn't know I'd end up meeting Jack Hughes in person but now, here we are!"
Jack nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it was a lucky coincidence. We hit it off right away."
"That's so sweet, right out of a book." You laughed and she nodded, blushing. You couldn't help but smile at their story, even though it felt like a bittersweet reminder of what could never be. You were genuinely happy for Jack, and yet, a part of you couldn't help but wish for a different outcome.
Nicole blushed at your comment, clearly smitten with Jack. "Yeah, it does feel a bit like a fairy tale sometimes," she admitted.
"So, Y/N, what have you been up to lately?" Jack cleared his throat, breaking the conversation away from their relationship. You both gazed at one another and you suddenly felt empty. It had never been like this between you two, he never asked what you'd been up to because he always known.
You forced a smile, your chest feeling heavy as you replied, "Oh, you know, just keeping busy with school and spending time with family." It was a vague response, deliberately leaving out the part about missing him. You didn't want to make things awkward, and you certainly didn't want to burden him with your own emotions.
Jack nodded, seemingly accepting your answer. "That's good to hear. School can be pretty demanding, I bet."
"Yeah, it keeps me on my toes," you replied, trying to keep the conversation light. It was becoming increasingly clear that the dynamic between you and Jack had changed, and it was going to take some time to adjust to this new reality.
Before he could respond, Luke came into the kitchen and he immediately looked like he regretted it. He forced a smile, "Um, is there any ice cream in the... fridge?"
You couldn't help but chuckle at Luke's somewhat awkward entrance. It was clear he was trying to give you and Jack some space, even though the tension in the room was palpable.
"Luke, you know where the ice cream is," you replied with a knowing look, amusement dancing in your eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, I just... thought I'd ask," Luke stammered before quickly retreating from the kitchen, leaving you, Jack, and Nicole alone once more.
As the last dish was placed in the drying rack, you couldn't help but glance at Jack, his profile highlighted by the soft kitchen light. He turned to you with a smile.
"Anyways, Trevor and Alex are coming tomorrow, you excited to see them?" Jack added with a friendly tone, trying to bridge the awkward gap that had formed during your conversation.
You nodded, appreciating the effort he was making to include you despite the new circumstances. "Yeah, it'd be nice to catch up with them. I haven't talked to 'em in a while."
All three of you exited the kitchen and you went to go find Quinn to give him a lecture. That was until you felt your phone buzz with a text message,
luke my friends are here they wanna meet u
Before you could type your answer, Luke gave you another text.
lukejack and his gf aren't here. just come 😑
You rolled your eyes at his attitude and quickly went to go find him and his friends. You quickly found them by the pool and you opened the sliding door, his friends whipped their heads to take a look at you.
"Hey, Luke," you greeted him with a smile, momentarily ignoring the curious glances. "You wanted me to meet your friends?"
"Well you said yourself you wanted to meet 'em earlier," Luke nodded and you got the memo.
You nodded and smiled, deciding to go along with Luke's plan. After all, it was a chance to distract yourself from the complicated situation with Jack and his new girlfriend. Luke's friends seemed friendly enough, and you were always open to making new acquaintances.
"I'm pretty sure you've met Ethan and Dylan before,"
You nodded politely. You had met them when you had helped him move in a few months ago and they were nice enough. "Yeah, nice to see you guys again."
"Yeah, you too." They replied in union, making you laugh.
"And this is Mark," Luke glanced knowingly at you and you instantly knew that this was the guy who had developed a crush on you.
When Luke introduced Mark, you couldn't help but notice the subtle shift in his friends' expressions. It was clear that Mark's crush on you wasn't a well-kept secret among their group. You offered Mark a friendly smile, wanting to make him feel comfortable despite the awkwardness of the situation.
"Nice to meet you, Mark," you said, extending a hand for a handshake. "Luke's told me a lot about you guys."
Mark's cheeks turned a faint shade of pink as he shook your hand. "Yeah, he's talked about you too."
Luke sat back down and you took a seat next to him, right across from Mark. "Oh does he?" You teased him.
Luke, attempting to play it cool, shrugged nonchalantly. "Just mentioned how nice you are, no big deal."
Ethan and Dylan exchanged knowing glances, trying to suppress their laughter. It was evident to everyone at the table that there was more to Luke's mention than he let on.
"Nice?" You couldn't help but laugh and exchange glances with Mark, a grin on his face. He was cute, you had to admit that. He was exactly your type, he looked sweet and had a cute smile. Maybe Luke was a pretty good matchmaker, so far.
"Yeah, he told us how cool you were. And then he showed us your instagram and all of us fell in love," Ethan mentioned, quickly pausing and glancing at Mark before continuing. "Well not in love but we all thought you were pretty. Well, I mean you are but like-"
"I get it," You laughed at his nervous rambling. You took another glance at Mark and gave him a smile, his cheeks turning even redder (somehow).
The table erupted in laughter, and it was clear that everyone was having a good time. Even Mark seemed to have settled into the friendly atmosphere, and you couldn't deny the chemistry you felt with him. It was lighthearted and fun, a welcome distraction from the complicated feelings you had for Jack.
As the night wore on, you noticed that Ethan, Luke, and Dylan began to exchange glances and sharing quiet conversations. It was clear that they had some sort of plan in mind, and you couldn't help but wonder what they were up to. You decided to play along, knowing that whatever they had in store was likely meant to bring you and Mark closer and anything would help to make you forget about Jack.
"Hey, Mark, do you want to check out the lake?" you suggested, giving him a sweet smile. The lake house had always been a place of fond memories for you, and it would be a great opportunity to spend some time alone with Mark.
Mark's face lit up. "Sure, that sounds like a great idea, let's go."
You excused yourselves from the table, and as you walked towards the sliding glass door that led to the lake, you couldn't help but notice the mischievous smiles on Ethan, Luke, and Dylan's faces. They were clearly up to something, you tried to ignore their expressions.
Once outside, the two of you made your way down to the edge of the lake. The moon reflected on the calm water, casting a romantic glow.
"So, Y/N, tell me more about yourself," Mark began, his voice soft and inviting.
You smiled, feeling a sense of warmth in the cool summer night air. "Well, there's not much to tell, really." You chuckled before continuing, "Just trying to finish up school and move to Europe."
Mark's eyes widened with curiosity. "Europe? That sounds amazing. What's drawing you there?"
You gazed at the shimmering reflection of the moon on the lake, lost in thought for a moment. "I don't know, these past months have been hard. And I never thought about moving out of the states but recently, I just wanna let go and start fresh, you know?"
Mark nodded, understanding what you meant. "I get that, a change of scenery can help with that feeling."
You sighed, feeling a sense of relief in opening up to Mark. "Exactly. I just want to explore new horizons, experience different cultures, and maybe find a new perspective on life."
"I've always wanted to go to France, I know it's basic but I heard they had good hot chocolate and had to try it." Mark smiled down at you and you couldn't help but let out a soft laugh.
"That doesn't sound basic at all," you replied with a grin. "I would love to visit France, even if it is every person's dream."
Mark chuckled, his eyes locked onto yours. "Maybe we can both make our way to Europe someday. Who knows, our paths might cross in a cozy café in Paris."
The idea painted a vivid picture in your mind, and for a moment, you allowed yourself to indulge in the possibility. "That sounds like a dream."
A sudden breeze began to pick up and you felt yourself shiver and Mark noticed. Without saying another word, he took off his jacket and quickly wrapped it around your shoulder.
It was a cliche, you know that. But as you looked at Mark, you felt a sense of warmth that had nothing to do with the jacket. His kindness and consideration made your heart skip a beat, something you hadn't experienced in a while. You smiled at him gratefully, the cool breeze forgotten as you were wrapped in his warmth.
"Thank you, Mark," you said softly, your eyes meeting his. In that moment, under the moonlight by the lake, you felt a connection that was unlike anything you had experienced in a long time.
Mark smiled back at you, his eyes holding a glint of something more. "Anytime, Y/N."
As the night wore on, your conversation with Mark flowed effortlessly, you found yourself drawn further into Mark's world, and the thought of Jack and his complicated situation faded into the background even if only for that night. In Mark's company, you were starting to feel a glimmer of hope for the fresh start you had been yearning for.
──
You awoke with the sound of laughter. Your eyes opened groggily and you felt your back scream in pain and it took a minute to realize exactly where you were.
You laid on Mark's chest, a blanket laid out on the both of you. You were on the couch and the memories of last night quickly flooded back into your head.
"Aww, Marky, you got yourself a girlfriend finally!" Ethan exclaimed as Mark tried to cover your face with the blanket, an (failed) attempt to not to wake you. They hadn't noticed you were awake.
"Ha ha ha, so funny." Mark mumbled in false amusement as he yawned.
You decided to remain quiet, pretending to still be asleep, curious to hear how Mark would handle the situation. A smile stretched your lips as you continued to eavesdrop.
"Seriously though, Mark, she's pretty," Dylan chimed in. "You two looked really cozy last night."
"Yeah, yeah," Mark replied, his tone still somewhat defensive. "We were just talking. You guys are reading too much into it."
"Sure, Mark, whatever you say," Ethan teased, and you could practically hear the grin in his voice. "Just talking, my ass."
"My clothes are still on, right?" Mark groaned quietly. "Could you guys be quiet, she's sleeping."
"Awww, Marky!" Ethan let out a booming laugh and you took that as your cue to 'wake up.'
You let out a yawn and pushed down the blanket from your face and they all quieted down. "Good... morning?"
"You have a good sleep last night?" Ethan teased and you tried to ignore the warm feeling in your cheeks as you got up from the couch. Mark frowned as you got up, feeling his body get cool.
You stretched your arms and stifled another yawn before responding to Ethan's teasing. "Yeah, it was quite comfortable here, actually."
"I bet," Ethan replied as he wiggled his eyebrows and you rolled your eyes.
"Okay, well, I'm going to brush my teeth."
"Wait, let's go eat first." Mark quickly replied, making Dylan and Ethan exchange glances.
"Before... brushing my teeth?" You smiled at that. He was cute, for sure.
"Yeah, Mark, let her go brush her teeth. Knowing what you two did-"
"Shut up," Mark groaned as you let out a chuckle. "Yeah, go brush your teeth."
You nodded and walked away from the living room, quickly ascending up the stairs and into the bathroom. The smile hadn't left your face and you felt like absolutely nothing could ruin your mood.
Well, you were wrong.
As you brushed your teeth happily, you heard the familiar noise in the next room other. The rhythmic banging, the moaning─
Oh no, you thought to yourself. You felt your stomach twist in disgust as let out an audible gag. The room next to the bathroom was Jack's and the only couple in the entire house was Jack and Nicole. You connected the dots and you suddenly felt nauseous.
You spit your paste and quickly rinsed your mouth. You needed to get out of there immediately. As you walked out of the bathroom, you bumped into one person you did not want to see.
"Oh shoot, sorry."
You looked up to see Nicole. She looked tired, her red hair messy and her neck filled with marks. They were obviously busy last night and you tried to push the visual of them having sex out of your mind as you forced a smile. "No, you're totally good."
She smiled and gave your shoulder a pat before walking to the bathroom. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding and let your shoulders fall as you walked down the stairs.
You smelled hash browns in the air, your favorite, but somehow you still felt sick to your stomach. The imagery was still stuck in your head, you felt disgusting.
You made your way to the dining table and took a seat next to Quinn, crossing your arms and he immediately knew what was wrong. Your disgusted facial expression, your annoyed attitude, everything.
"They're like fucking bunnies," Quinn mumbled to you and you looked back at him with a nod. He looked tired, too. It looked like they kept him up and you were suddenly grateful you slept downstairs, even with the ache in your lower back. He put a hand on your shoulder in comfort. "Hey, if it makes you better, he lasts about a few minutes. You wouldn't want that."
His unusual teasing tone still didn't make you better, you knew Quinn was trying his best to make you feel better. You forced a smile and nodded, "Yeah. That's gross."
"What's gross?"
You turned your head to see Jack; his disheveled appearance making you gag internally, knowing what you know. You made eye contact for a few seconds before averting your gaze to the table.
"Nothing, buddy." Quinn responded with a smirk and they both exchanged a laugh. Jack then, took a seat right across from you. Now you literally couldn't move your gaze anywhere else without making it obvious.
Quinn seemed determined to keep the mood light, though, and he continued with the banter. "I heard you and Mark spent the night together last night."
There was a pause and a few awkward glances before he continued, "Um, not like that."
Jack looked directly at you and he had unreadable expression on his face. Confusion? Annoyance? Jealousy? Maybe a mix of all three.
"Well, we just-"
Before you continue you heard Ethan and Dylan's booming laughter as they entered the dining room, plates in their hands. They immediately exchanged glances as they realized who was in the room before putting sitting down with their plates.
"Your mom has food in the kitchen, if you guys... want any." Ethan tried to diffuse the tension as he smiled and looked at Dylan. "Mark's in there, Y/N."
As you got up to find Mark, you couldn't help but exchange a glance with Jack. His expression was hard to decipher – there was a mix of emotions, but it was clear that the mention of you spending the night with Mark had affected him in some way. You couldn't dwell on it for too long, though, as you headed to the kitchen to find Mark.
In the kitchen, you found Mark helping himself to some breakfast. He looked up and gave you a warm smile as you entered. "Hey, good morning."
He quickly noticed your expression and he turned to you with confusion, "Everything okay?"
You nodded, trying to shake off the lingering discomfort from the dining room. "Yeah, just... things got a bit awkward in there. Thanks for last night, by the way."
Mark chuckled, handing you a plate of food. "No problem at all. It was fun."
As you both made your way back to the dining room, you couldn't help but wonder what the day had in store for you, especially with the lingering tension between you and Jack.
You sat down next to Quinn as Mark quickly made his way to the empty seat next to you. Finally, everyone started piling into the dining room and everyone started eating.
The atmosphere in the dining room remained tense as everyone continued eating. Nicole was sitting next to Jack and noticed the slight change in him, he seemed more... moody. You tried your best to focus on your plate and engage in conversation with those around you, but it was hard with Jack's presence so close.
As the meal progressed, you felt Jack's gaze on you, a burning sensation that you couldn't ignore. Finally, after a while, Jack spoke up, his tone casual as he said, "So, Y/N, Mark seemed like a nice guy. How long have you known him?"
Mark exchanged a glance between the two of you, choosing peace and continued to eat.
His seemingly innocent question struck a nerve. You knew he was deliberately bringing up Mark to gauge your reaction, and it irritated you. Trying to maintain your composure, you replied, "Just met last night."
Jack's eyebrows raised slightly, a hint of surprise in his expression as he processed your response. It seemed your terse reply had caught him off guard. Mark continued to eat quietly, not wanting to get caught up in the tension.
After a moment of silence, Jack cleared his throat, attempting to sound nonchalant but failing to hide a hint of sarcasm. "Well, you two certainly seemed close for people who just met." Before you could respond, he continued under his breath, "Didn't know you were that easy."
Quinn kicked Jack's leg under the table and Nicole seemed distressed, too.
You bit your tongue. You clenched your fork tightly, your frustration mounting. "We were just having a conversation, Jack. Is that not allowed?"
Jack's gaze didn't waver as he replied, "Of course it is, Y/N. Just making conversation here because apparently I don't know anything about you anymore."
That really struck a move. He didn't know anything about you anymore? Jack's words hit you like a dagger to the heart. The pain and frustration were evident in his tone, and you could sense the turmoil in his emotions. It was clear that your distancing had affected him more than you had realized.
The tension at the table was palpable as everyone watched the exchange between you and Jack. Quinn cleared his throat, trying to mediate. "Guys, can we not do this right now?"
You felt yourself get more heated as you heard Ellen say something but you couldn't even comprehend it, that's how angry you were. Without thinking, you pushed your chair back and got up from the table. Your voice was strained with anger as you addressed Jack.
"Do you have no idea what it's been like for me, Jack?" You couldn't help but raise your voice, your pent-up emotions pouring out. "You just assume things and make stupid comments, but you don't know the half of it. This distance isn't just about you, it's about me trying to protect myself too."
The room was now filled with an uncomfortable silence, and it was clear that your outburst had taken everyone by surprise. Nicole placed a comforting hand on Jack's arm, silently pleading for him to let it go. Mark, too, looked uncomfortable, not wanting to be caught in the middle of this argument.
Jack's expression had shifted from surprise to a mix of anger and hurt as he absorbed your words. He clenched his jaw, clearly struggling to find the right response. Nicole's gentle touch on his arm seemed to be a calming influence, and he took a deep breath before speaking, his voice more controlled.
Ellen, sensing that the situation had become too tense, interjected again, her voice gentle but firm.
"Let's all take a step back, please? Y/N, sweetheart, maybe you could use a little breather, and we can all reconvene when things have calmed down."
You felt embarrassed as you looked around the room, all eyes seemingly on you and Jack. Feeling the weight of everyone's eyes on you, you nodded, your initial anger having dissipated into a mix of regret and awkwardness. You understood that your outburst had been uncharacteristic and uncomfortable with everyone there. With a forced smile, you mumbled an apology.
"Yeah, maybe I do need a little breather. Sorry about that, everyone." You turned away from the table and quickly exited the dining room. Outside, the fresh air greeted you, and you took a moment to collect your thoughts.
As you stood there, lost in thought, you couldn't help but wonder if there was any way to mend the growing rift between you and Jack, or if it was time to accept that things might never be the same again.
You stayed outside and spent the most of the day alone, outside in the pool trying to get a tan. The boys had all been playing pool inside and you were glad alone.
The sun beat down on you as you lounged by the pool, trying to soak in the warmth and forget about the tension from earlier. The sound of laughter from inside the house was a stark contrast to the solitude you sought outside.
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, trying to clear your mind. The cool water of the pool offered a refreshing escape from the heat, and you decided to take a dip to cool off and clear your thoughts.
As you swam in the crystal-clear water, you couldn't help but replay the argument with Jack in your mind. It weighed heavily on your heart, and you wondered if there was a way to make amends and rebuild the bond you had once shared.
"Hey,"
You let out a yelp as you heard Mark's voice and he let out a soft laugh as he walked over to the pool, dipping his legs into the pool.
"Hey," you laughed, pushing a wet strand of hair out of your face. "Sorry, you scared me there."
Mark chuckled, the sound light and soothing. "No worries, didn't mean to sneak up on you. Just thought you could use some company."
You appreciated his gesture and nodded. "Thanks, Mark. It's been definitely been a... day."
He nodded in understanding, his gaze sympathetic. "I could tell. The argument with Jack didn't look fun."
You sighed, the weight of it all still pressing on you. "Yeah, it wasn't. Sorry about him throwing you in the middle of it, I don't know what's going on with him."
He stayed quiet as he listened and nodded. You looked at him, waiting for some kind of response. He looked like he was weighing something in his head. "Well... it seems like he's jealous."
Jealous? You blinked in surprise, not expecting Mark to say that. "Jealous? Why would he be jealous?" You knew why, but it hadn't even seemed like a possibility in your mind.
Mark had a thin-lipped smile as he continued, "I mean why else would be an absolute dick about me spending the night with you?"
You stayed quiet, you had no idea how to deal with this. Of course this would happen to you on what was supposed to be a peaceful lake-house trip.
"Can I ask you a question, Y/N? But you have to be 100% honest with me." Mark's tone seemed serious as he spoke and you felt your heart drop. "Have you and Jack ever hooked up? Or like, dated?"
"No," that was the true answer but it looked like Mark hadn't bought it. "Well, I've always liked him." It felt weird to admit that and Mark's expression looked hurt as you continued. "That's why I stopped talking to him. I realized it would never go anywhere and I was still living in my head, it would've never worked out with me and Jack."
Admitting it out loud hurt more than you expected. You would never work out with Jack, no matter how hard you wanted it to.
"You still like him?"
You weighed your options but as you looked at Mark and everything that could happen, you knew the right answer. "No."
──
"Y/N!"
You heard Trevor's excited shout and you turned around, you felt Trevor embrace you tightly. You let out a laugh as he continued hugging you tightly, it had been a couple months since you'd last seen him.
He was always just as close to you as Jack, he was your true best friend. He had been there for you when Jack wasn't.
"Trevor!" You returned his hug with equal enthusiasm, feeling a surge of warmth and happiness at the sight of your close friend.
He pulled away with a big smile on his face, "Wow, why do you actually look good?" He said with a playful flirty undertone, making you laugh.
"Don't know, maybe it's the lack of Jack." As you turned to look behind him, you locked eyes with another close friend, Alex. He smiled and walked up to you; he was definitely the calm one in the friend-group. He gave you a hug before Trevor continued.
He rolled his eyes, "You still on that? Come on, Y/N."
You chuckled at Trevor's playful teasing, realizing that his presence had indeed lifted your spirits. "I can't help it, Trev. It's like a curse or something."
Alex joined in with a gentle laugh. "Well, we're here now, so you don't have to think about Jack for a while."
With your friends around, the atmosphere lightened even further, and you felt grateful for their presence. It was a chance to forget about the tension with Jack and simply enjoy the reunion with your closest friends.
"Oh shit." Alex mumbled, "I forgot my phone in the car,"
"Oh no worries, I'll come with you," you offered, eager to catch up with Alex and have a moment away from the group.
As you both headed to the car, Alex spoke in a hushed tone, "How have you been, Y/N? I know things have been tough."
You appreciated his concern and gave him a small smile. "I've had my ups and downs, but I'm good now. I'm glad you decided to come to the lake house, I've missed you two."
Alex nodded, his expression thoughtful. "We've missed you too. And I know things have changed with Jack, but we're here to support you no matter what."
As you arrived in the hallway, you had no time to respond as you heard yelling in the garage. You and Alex exchanged confused glances as you tried to listen in.
"What, Jack?! What's the excuse now, she literally said she's liked you forever!" You heard Nicole's voice and you felt your heart drop. She heard you in the pool?
You and Alex exchanged concerned glances as you strained to hear the conversation in the garage. Nicole's voice had a tone of frustration, and it was evident that she was upset about something. The mention of your feelings for Jack made your heart race.
Jack's voice responded, his tone defensive. "Nicole, it's not that simple. Y/N and I have a complicated history, okay?"
Nicole sounded exasperated as she retorted, "Complicated history? Jack, she's moved on. Why can't you?"
Their voices grew louder, and you could feel the strain in their relationship even from a distance. It was clear that your presence had stirred up emotions and issues between them, and you couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt.
As you leaned in closer to the door, it suddenly opened and you and Alex jumped.
The sudden opening of the door startled both you and Alex, and you found yourself face to face with a frustrated-looking Nicole. Her eyes widened in surprise at seeing you eavesdropping on their argument.
"Y/N..." Nicole began, her voice trailing off as he seemed at a loss for words.
You quickly glanced at Alex, who was equally taken aback by the unexpected confrontation.
"I'm so sorry, Nicole, I didn't know that you heard me and I promise you I would never, ever try anything while you were with Jack-"
She cut you off with a forced smile, "I get it. It's not your fault." She sneered at Jack before continuing. "It's not your fault Jack can't get over his childhood crush."
"Nicole, let's not do this here," Jack said, his voice tinged with frustration. He glanced at you and Alex before turning back to her. "We'll talk later, okay?"
"There is no later! I'm done." She yelled back at him, her eyebrows furrowing in utter anger. "You already made your decision, it was either me or her and we all know your choice. I won't be a second choice, Jack. I've been second to her our entire relationship and I just met her, can you imagine how I've felt?"
The raw pain in Nicole's eyes was impossible to ignore, and it was clear that she had reached her breaking point. Her outburst had laid bare the insecurities and frustrations that had been festering beneath the surface, and it left everyone in the room with a heavy sense of unease. You could see the hurt in her eyes, and it was clear that their relationship had reached a breaking point. You couldn't help but feel guilty, was it your fault?
While you knew you weren't responsible for the choices Jack had made in his relationship, it was impossible not to wonder if your presence had somehow worsened the situation. You had never intended to come between them or cause any harm.
You exchanged a glance with Alex, who looked equally uncomfortable with the situation. The unease in the room was palpable, and there were no easy answers to the complex emotions and dynamics at play.
Jack's shoulders slumped, and he looked defeated. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but no words came out. It was a painful silence, and you could feel the weight of the history and emotions between Jack and Nicole.
Finally, he managed to speak, his voice soft and filled with regret. "I'm so sorry, Nicole. I never meant for any of this to happen-"
Nicole didn't respond. She simply turned and walked away, leaving Jack standing there, his face etched with a complex mix of emotions.
Jack ran a hand through his hair before he quickly pushed past you and Alex to run after Nicole. "Fuck, baby please listen!"
You and Alex exchanged looks before he sighed heavily, "Wow. What the hell did me and Trev miss."
"You have no idea," you sighed as you began walking to his car for the thing you had came in there for.
──
You sat next to Mark as you both dangled your feet in the water, everyone was outside and it finally felt like relaxing trip. It finally felt like the lake house; no drama (for the most part), cool summer air, and all your close friends in one place.
Sitting by the water with Mark, you felt a sense of calm wash over you. The drama from earlier had dissipated, and you were grateful for the opportunity to unwind with your friends. The cool breeze, the soothing sounds of the lake, and the laughter of your friends created a serene atmosphere that allowed you to momentarily forget about the complexities of your relationships.
You turned to Mark and offered a genuine smile. "Thanks for being here today, Mark. It means a lot."
He returned your smile warmly. "Of course, Y/N. I'm here whenever you need someone to talk to or just hang out with."
As the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, you found yourself leaning in closer to Mark. His presence felt comforting and reassuring. You locked eyes with him, and there was a shared understanding between you.
In that moment, you realized that Mark had become more than just a friend. He was someone who had been there for you, who had listened, and who had shown you support when you needed it, something you hadn't experienced from any partner. And perhaps, in the midst of all the chaos, you had found something unexpected: the possibility of a new beginning.
As your faces drew nearer, the world around you seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of you in that quiet, starlit moment. It was a moment of choice, a moment where you could let go of the past and embrace the future.
With a gentle, lingering touch, your lips met Mark's, and for that brief, stolen moment, it felt like the world was right where it should be.
Then it felt wrong. You pulled away and you turned your head almost instinctively and there he was. Jack, standing there, watching the scene unfold.
The shock on Jack's face was undeniable, and it was as if time had frozen in that moment. His presence shattered the tranquility that had enveloped you and Mark, leaving an awkward and tense silence in its wake.
Mark pulled away from you slowly, his expression a mix of surprise and uncertainty. You could feel your heart racing, caught between the past and the present, between the familiarity of Jack and the newfound connection with Mark.
Jack scoffed and walked away, leaving your heart shattered; like he always did. As you began to get up, Mark gripped your arm. You looked down at him and found yourself at crossroads.
Mark or Jack? Mark or Jack? Mark: the sweetest boy with the sweetest smile, or Jack: the person you'd loved your entire life.
You knew the answer. Everyone knew the answer. You moved your arm from his grip and got up, leaving him seated in the pool. You ran after Jack and it suddenly hit you. He'll always have this power over you, his beautiful smile always had this effect on you.
It made you nauseous as you tried to find where he was, like you always did. He would always pick someone else and you always had to pick him, that was just how it worked.
You ran after Jack, your heart pounding in your chest. The familiar ache of chasing after someone who always seemed just out of reach gnawed at you. It was a pattern you had repeated countless of times, a dance of longing and rejection that you couldn't seem to break free from no matter how hard you tried.
As you searched for him, you couldn't help but feel a sense of desperation. You knew that choosing Jack meant choosing the same cycle of heartache, but it was a choice you had made so many times before. His smile, his presence, his history with you—it all had a hold on you that was impossible to shake.
Finally, you spotted him by the edge of the lake, his silhouette illuminated by the moonlight. He turned to look at you, his expression a mix of surprise and uncertainty, as if he couldn't believe you had chosen him once again.
You didn't say anything as you approached him. Words felt meaningless in that moment. Instead, you simply reached out and took his hand, intertwining your fingers with his, and with that simple gesture, you made your choice.
It might have been the same old pattern, the same old dance, but it was your choice to make, and for now, it was the one that felt right.
As you looked into his eyes, the same ones you'd adored since day one, you felt deja vu. You felt angry; how could one person have such control over you? In the depths of his eyes, you saw a reflection of your own emotions, a turbulent mix of desire, frustration, and longing. It was a maddening feeling, to be so deeply ensnared by someone who seemed to hold all the power in your relationship.
The moonlight cast a soft glow on both of you as you stood by the lake, hand in hand, the weight of your choice settling in. It was a choice that defied reason and logic, a choice that defied the very patterns you had tried to break free from. But for now, it was your choice, and you would face the consequences, whatever they may be, with Jack by your side.
You felt an unexpected sob ripple from your chest and you ripped your hand from his, covering your mouth with your hand. You closed your eyes and you felt Jack pull you closer, into his chest.
As the sobs wracked your body, you felt Jack's arms around you, offering a comforting embrace. It was a mixture of relief and hurt, the weight of your choice bearing down on you. You had chosen to follow your heart, even if it meant stepping into the same cycle of uncertainty and longing.
Jack held you tightly, his own emotions undoubtedly conflicted, but in that moment, it was a silent understanding between the two of you. The night was still, and the moon illuminated the path you had chosen, as well as the challenges that lay ahead.
"It's okay, shh. I'm... here now, I'm sorry." He mumbled as he planted a kiss on your head.
You felt such anger in your stomach as he said those words so easily. Was it okay? Was he really here, with you? Was he truly sorry. You pushed him away and you saw him fumble back, hurt in his eyes as you fell on to your knees, taking a seat on the cold sand of the lake.
The anger, the hurt, the confusion, it all swirled within you as you sat there on the cold sand, tears streaming down your face. You couldn't make sense of your emotions, and Jack's words, well-intentioned as they might have been, didn't provide the solace you needed.
Jack remained a few steps away, watching you with a pained expression, unsure of how to bridge the gap between you. The silence between you was heavy, filled with unspoken words and unresolved feelings.
"Do you know..." You sniffled, looking up at him with tears in your eyes. You didn't even know where to begin. "I've spent my entire fucking life pining after you. Every single moment has been dedicated to the great Jack fucking Hughes, did you know that?"
Your bitter words felt like a dagger to the heart to the both of you. You continued, "I always choose you. I always fucking choose you!" You screamed out angrily, as Jack flinched. He'd never seen you this angry in his entire life.
"Why do I always choose you? You're like every other guy in the world." Your tears streamed down your face. "But you're special to me," you mumbled as Jack's breathing became heavy with emotion. "You always choose everyone else but me. I never knew why." You were just rambling at this point but you would be lying if you said it didn't feel good.
You looked up at Jack. "I watched you fall for people who didn't see you the way I did, who didn't know you the way I did, and I stood there, invisible, as you gave your heart to them."
Your words cut deep, each one a painful reminder of the years of unrequited love and longing.
"And then," you whispered, your voice barely audible, "when I finally thought it might be my turn to finally be with someone who actually liked me, who wanted me, I choose you again." Your voice cracked as you mentioned Mark.
You wiped away fresh tears, and the pain in your eyes was palpable. "It hurts, Jack. It hurt more than I can put into words. But I still chose you, again."
A sob caught in your throat, and you continued, your words heavy with emotion. "I've cried myself to sleep, wondering why I wasn't good enough for you, why you never saw me the way I saw you. And every time you got hurt, I was right there with you, helping and being there." You paused. "And when I was hurt, where the fuck were you? Probably with some girl who never knew you like I did. Who will never know you like I do."
Jack's eyes were filled with remorse, and you could see the pain in his expression, but you couldn't stop now. You had to let it all out.
"I convinced myself that if I just kept waiting, if I just kept choosing you, someday you'd see me for who I was, you'd choose me. But it never happened, Jack. It never happened, and it broke my heart a little more every day."
Your voice broke again as you sniffled, "I've missed out on so much because of you," you continued, your voice trembling with emotion. "I've given up on amazing opportunities, on people who genuinely cared about me, all because I thought someday you'd choose me too."
Jack took a seat beside you, the weight of your words sinking in. You didn't fight it, you were too tired.
The lake's gentle waves lapped against the shore, providing a soothing backdrop to the turmoil of emotions swirling around both of you. He didn't say anything for a while, the silence between you heavy with unspoken regret.
Finally, he broke the silence, his voice soft and filled with remorse. "I didn't know. I didn't mean to... hurt you."
You turned to look at him, your eyes meeting his. You saw the sincerity in his gaze, but it was accompanied by a sense of helplessness. It was as if he had finally realized the depth of the pain he had caused you.
"I couldn't like you, Y/N." It sounded harsher than it actually was as he continued. "I just couldn't. You were too good, Y/N, you are a sweetheart. I was scared to taint you, and I would've never forgiven myself if I did..."
"Taint me?" You scoffed, pain in your tone. "You tainted me the moment you met me, Jack."
Those words hung in the air as he swallowed, taking your words into consideration. "I'm so sorry, Y/N," he whispered, his voice filled with remorse. "I never meant to hurt you. I never wanted any of this."
You sighed, the anger and frustration slowly giving way to a sense of resignation. It was a complicated situation, and both of you had made mistakes along the way. "I know, Jack. I know you didn't."
In that moment, you both shared a painful understanding of the past and the choices that had brought you to this point. You would always choose him, and he'd always choose them. But as he put his hand on top of yours, your body entire body felt like it was on fire.
As you looked into Jack's eyes, you saw a mixture of emotions - regret, longing, and a hint of hope. It was as if he, too, was wrestling with the undeniable connection that had always existed between you.
"I'm not saying it'll be easy, Y/N," he murmured, his thumb gently tracing circles on the back of your hand. "But maybe... just maybe, we can find a way to make this work."
His words hung in the air, and for the first time in a long time, you allowed yourself to entertain the possibility of a future with Jack, a future where you didn't have to choose between him and anyone else.
Maybe all of that pining wasn't for nothing. Maybe in the end, he would have chosen you. But would you choose him? Could you finally resist him?
As you sat there, the gentle breeze ruffling your hair and the quiet waters of the lake before you, you contemplated Jack's words. The years of pining and longing, the heartaches and frustrations, all seemed to converge in this one moment.
Maybe, just maybe, this was the moment where the tides would turn, and you could choose a different path, one that didn't revolve around Jack. But the choice was yours to make, and it wouldn't be easy. You knew the allure of Jack, the history you shared, and the magnetic pull between you two would always be there.
For now, you decided to savor the night, knowing that the future held uncertainties and challenges, but also the potential for something beautiful. As you gazed at the moonlit lake, you couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead and what choices you would make when the time came.

Summary: Your sister takes you to work
Tumblr media
"They are cool, si?"
You stomped your foot, watching as the bottom of your shoe lit up. You nodded. "Si." You stomped your foot again. "Cool."
Mapi beamed at you. She thought you looked super cool in your new light-up shoes and Barcelona jersey. A toy cat that looked suspiciously like Bagheera was clutched in your hand and you sucked in the ear almost absentmindedly.
"Hey," Came a soft voice from the bedroom," I thought we agreed on your normal shoes, elskling?"
"Pretty shoes." You pointed at the new light-up ones Mapi had given you, stamping for a third time to show Ingrid what you were talking about.
She gave Mapi a pointed look. "I told you not to buy those for her."
Mapi didn't even try to look apologetic. "They were cute. She is cute. It made sense."
"They're not broken in," Ingrid replied, busying herself with zipping up your jacket and sorting out the lopsided ponytail that Mapi had pulled your hair into. "Her feet will hurt later."
"She can take them off. We're on the pitch for most of the day. It's no big deal."
Ingrid rolled her eyes before lightly pinching your cheek. "Come on, elskling." She placed some comically large sunglasses on your face. "Let's get going."
●~●~●~●~
It hadn't exactly been planned - your long-term visit to Barcelona - but your parents had somehow won a cruise for two people that was non-refundable.
They had anguished over it for hours, looking to see if anyone could look after you but all your immediate family were too busy or unsuited to look after such a young child.
The answer came, however, in the form of your older sister - who routinely phoned home every other day and listened to your mother complaining about there being no one to watch you.
Ingrid had agreed instantly.
She didn't see you often - with her being in Spain all the time - and you were at the age that everything she did or said was exciting and interesting.
So, she flew out to Norway to get you and flew back out to Spain hours later.
Your first day in Spain was fun. Ingrid's girlfriend took you out shopping and to eat nice food and she even got you your special new light-up shoes.
"Elskling," Ingrid warned when she felt you kick the back of her seat again," Stop it."
"Makin' 'em pretty," You protested but she fixed you a stern look and passed over some goldfish crackers to keep you occupied on the drive to her work.
Ingrid's Mapi shoved a cap onto your head, moving it to cover your eyes before you were hoisted up into her arms.
You giggled. "Mapi!"
"Huh? What?" She teased," Did something happen?" She pushed your cap down again.
More laughter bubbled out of you. "Mapi!"
She laughed with you, enjoying the way you rested easily into her as Ingrid followed closely behind, digging through your backpack for sunscreen.
When you all finally make it into the locker room, it was mostly empty save for a few people who are talking amongst themselves.
Ingrid snatched you from Mapi's arms and smothered your face in sunscreen.
You puffed out your cheeks in annoyance but Ingrid continued rubbing in the icky cream. "Ingrid!" You squealed when she poked your cheek before laying kisses upon it in apology.
"Sorry, elskling but mamma won't be happy with me if you come home all burnt," Ingrid said as you tried to wipe it away.
You huffed in annoyance and tried to peer around her to have a look at this new room. She blocked your eyeline with her body though, changing into her training top before pulling you out of the child-sized Maria Leon jersey Mapi had scrounged up the moment she heard you were visiting.
A more appropriate t-shirt was thrown over your head as Ingrid sat you down in her cubby. "Are you sure you don't want to wear your normal shoes, elskling?" She asked, waving your regular pair in front of your face.
You shook your head stubbornly when you noticed Mapi making faces at you from behind Ingrid's back. "Want these."
Ingrid sighed but let you keep them on.
"Who's this?"
Two girls appeared over Ingrid's shoulder with Mapi, who grinned excitedly and patted your head proudly.
"y/n," She said," She's Ingrid's hermanita. y/n, this is Lucy and Keira, they are from England."
"Hi," You chirped.
The taller girl grinned at you, crouching to your level. "Hi, y/n. It's nice to meet you. How old are you?"
You held up the right amount of fingers on your hand as you smiled back at her.
"Wow," Lucy said," That's so old. You're a big girl, huh? Kei, I didn't know we were going to be in the presence of such a big girl. Did you?"
"No idea," Keira replied. She smiled at you, seemingly more reserved than her counterpart as she waved before being caught in a conversation with someone nearby.
Lucy entertained you for several more minutes, asking you simple questions that you could recognise in English. She seemed just as excited about your light-up shoes as you and Mapi.
"Alright, elskling," Your sister said as she returned to your side," Let's get going."
She offered you her hand to take but you ignored it, wiggling your way between Mapi and Keira, taking the Englishwoman's hand - much to her shock.
Keira reminded you a little of your sister just like how Lucy reminded you of Mapi. You swung your joined hands together with a wide grin as Keira walked you out to where she and the others were working.
You didn't fully understand Ingrid's job like you understood everyone else's in your family. You knew Mamma and Papa did stuff with their computers and paper that was so important you weren't allowed to touch them but all Ingrid seemed to do was run around with her friends and her Mapi.
Regardless, you much preferred going to work with Ingrid than going to work with Mamma and Papa.
Lots of other girls were on the field that Keira led you onto and you tucked yourself into her side firmly as Ingrid's hand came to hold onto your shoulder.
"Thank you, Keira," She said," But I've got her."
Keira released your hand and you were up on Ingrid's hip a moment later. Mamma and Papa had stopped picking you up like this a while ago but Ingrid had refused, citing that you would always be little enough for her to do this to you.
You flopped into Ingrid's shoulder as she brought you over to the rest of the group. She had placed those silly sunglasses on your face again so none of these new people could see the way your eyes darted nervously from side to side as you took them all in.
They were all trying to make their looks subtle but even at your age, you could tell what they were doing.
An official-looking man was talking so you took the time to inspect everyone. You vaguely recognised them, from when Mamma and Papa watched Ingrid work on the tv but you didn't really know many of their names.
But the two people that you did recognise both gave you a smile.
Ingrid carted you away to a shady area just off the pitch and set you up with a colouring book and some crayons. She pressed a kiss to your crown, smoothing down your flyaways before telling you to come and get her if you needed to.
You weren't alone for long though because Caro and Frido joined you almost as soon as Ingrid disappeared. You smiled at both of them.
Frido was Ingrid's best friend and often times came home with your sister. Whenever she visited, she made sure to take you to get ice cream and crepes.
You knew Caroline too. She played with Norway with Ingrid when they weren't playing in Spain. You had met her several years ago now, when you were much littler and Ingrid had decided that she would show her baby sister off to anyone who would stick around to listen.
"Hi, y/n," Caro said softly.
You looked up from your colouring sheet, beaming. "Hi!" You got to your feet and hugged her legs.
"What?" Frido said in faux annoyance," No hug for me? For shame, y/n."
You giggled. "Silly, Frido," You said," You get hugs too."
She looked delighted when you finally hugged her, picking you up and shaking you around for a moment before you were placed back onto the ground with your colouring page again.
"Caro, Frido," A girl approached," Jona told you to get a move on. You can see the nena later." Her English didn't sound like yours, Ingrid and Caro's or even like Frido's. She sounded a lot more like Mapi.
You tilted your head to the side, trying to place her face with the one that you had seen on the tv before.
"This is not any nena, Marta," Frido chastised with a smile," This is Ingrid's little sister. Get used to her face. She'll be playing for Barca when she's older, I'm sure of it."
The new girl - Marta - laughed and exchanged a look with Caro, who nodded seriously. She crouched down to greet you like Lucy did earlier. She reached out a hand that you took - Papa had always told you that a good, strong handshake was how you made a good impression.
"Well, then," She said in her Mapi-accented English," I suppose I should greet my future teammate. I am Marta Torrejón. And You?"
"y/n Engen," You replied because Mamma had also told you to always introduce yourself.
Marta smiled at you. "It's nice to meet you. I'll be sure to get to know you later, if you're going to play for Barca like your sister."
She dragged Frido and Caro with her back to where the rest of the girls were playing around with balls and cones.
You turned back to your colouring page - a cat that you scrawled black all over to look like Bagheera. When you were satisfied, you pulled out another page and started colouring again.
Sometimes, you would look up to see if Ingrid and Mapi were okay (being around so many people was overwhelming sometimes and you needed to be sure they were coping alright) and you would see a new girl hovering nearby.
None of them ever approached - bar Frido and Caro who would come over on orders from Ingrid to remind you to drink - but you could tell they were hovering.
Your tummy grumbled after a while and you huffed in annoyance. You were in the middle of colouring another kitten picture, this one to mimic the kitty you had back home.
Ingrid, of course, had thought ahead and another packet of goldfish crackers had been tucked into the pocket of your backpack.
You dug it out with a vengeance but couldn't quite get the package open. You looked to each side. Your sister and her girlfriend were on the opposite side of the pitch, very far away and you couldn't see Frido or Caro nearby either.
Three sets of girls in the same tops as Ingrid and Mapi were near though, taking a water break.
You rose to your feet, your special new shoes lighting up as you took nervous steps towards the girls. You tugged on the closest one's shorts.
She looked like she had jumped out of her skin when she noticed you, mouth hanging open in shock.
You presented her with your dilemma. "Please."
She took the packet from you but didn't move to open it, instead looking over at the other two girls in wild confusion. She then looked at you like you were one of those dangerous exploding bombs you had seen on one of Papa's tv shows.
"Er..."
"Please," You said again, staring up at her with wide eyes.
She stared down at you with similarly wide eyes.
Both of the older women laughed and one of them took the packet from the younger girl. "She wants you to open them, Esmee," She said," My Mateo does the same thing."
She passed you the now open package and smiled. "You are Ingrid's hermanita, si?"
"Si." You replied with a nod, cramming as many goldfish into your mouth as you could.
The other woman laughed. "Careful, nena," She warned," Slow down or you will choke."
"Will not," You insisted but did slow down your eating.
The first older woman kneeled down to you level and adjusted your hat. "You're a bit older than my Mateo. How old are you, nena?"
You held up the same number of fingers as you did with Lucy and all three girls suitably cooed over you - although the younger girl, Esmee, still seemed a little wary.
Mateo's Mamma, Irene, made sure your hat blocked the sun properly without covering your eyes while her friend, Sandra, let you drink from her bottle when you told them you had run out.
"Come with me," She said," It's cooler where I am. Esmee, grab her stuff and let Ingrid or Mapi know that the nena is with me."
She led you over to where she and the other keepers were working. Sandra was right, it was shadier where she was working and her friends Cata and Gemma suitably oohed and awwed over your colouring pages enough that you made all three of them pictures to take home with them.
●~●~●~●~
Ingrid came to collect you from Sandra a little while later. She put the back of her hand to your forehead and hummed. "We will get you out of the sun, elskling," She declared," It is lunchtime. Are you hungry?"
"Ja."
She laughed at your determined expression and passed your bag off to Mapi, who had tried to grab you.
Lunch was buffet style, Mapi told you. You weren't quite sure what that meant but your sister explained that it was like when you had barbeques at home and you just took what you wanted and left what you didn't.
You remained on Ingrid's hip for the trip to the food line when she put you down and made you hold her hand.
A lot of people were in the same room so you were glad that your sister didn't make you let go of her.
"When Mapi told me your sister was in town, I pictured someone older," A girl who had been playing with Ingrid earlier said," Not a nena this young."
You smiled up at her. "I'm a mistake," You said proudly.
Ingrid sighed loudly as the new girl - who introduced herself as Mariona, along with the girl behind her, Salma - laughed. "Sorry," Ingrid said, shuffling you closer into her legs," Our aunt teased our Momma about it once and we didn't realise she was eavesdropping until she started repeating."
The other girl, Salma, laughed as well. She held her fist out for a fist bump that you gladly gave. "I was an accident too," She said before taking your plate from Ingrid.
Between her and Mariona, your plate was stacked high with the tastiest things that Ingrid complained about.
She dragged you away from them when they tried to convince you that tying Mapi's laces together would be the height of comedy.
You were quickly sat between your sister and her girlfriend at a full table. Spanish chatter surrounded you but you were focused on devouring your meal.
"That is a lot of food."
Ingrid groaned at the words. "Salma and Mariona wouldn't stop. Elskling, wouldn't let me choose for her."
"She won't be able to eat all of that."
"You're welcome to take some if she lets you."
The person your sister was talking to gently tapped your hand for your attention.
"Elskling," Your sister said," This is Asisat. She had a question for you."
You tilted your head to the side. "Hi."
"Hello, y/n. Do you mind if I have some of your food, please? I'm just so hungry."
You studied her for a moment before you pushed your plate towards her. "Okay," You said," Because you said please. Papa says manners are important."
A collective group of squeals rang out from the other side of the table at your words so you fixed the group with a confused look.
"Your sister is cute, Ingrid," One of them said, waving at you.
"Elskling, Ona said you were cute," Ingrid said in Norwegian," What do you say?"
"Thank you," You replied dutifully which only led to the other two girls squealing again.
"You speak good English," Another said - Jana, you would come to know.
"Thank you."
"And your hat suits you," Bruna said next.
"Thank you."
"Ah!" Mapi chastised, swatting the three of them in turn," She's not a performing monkey. Leave her alone."
The three of them wilted and you frowned. They looked a little sad and you didn't like that.
"Ingrid's Mapi got me new shoes," You said suddenly when there was a lull in your sister and Asisat's conversation," They light up when I stamp. It's cool." To prove your point, you ducked under the table and reappeared between Ona and Bruna's seats, stamping your shoes to make the colours light up. "It is so cool, yes?"
"So cool."
●~●~●~●~
Frido stole you from Ingrid with little fanfare when you followed your sister to her gym session.
"Take the bag, Frido!" Ingrid called after her.
Frido ignored her as you rode on her shoulders into the gym. "I should use you as my weights today," She joked, poking your tummy when your top rose up.
"No!" You laughed.
"No?" She teased," Are you sure? I think you'll make a great weight for me."
"No!" You said again as she tickled you. "Nei, Frido! Nei!"
"Alright." She placed you on your feet again and ruffled your hair.
"Frido," A new voice said," Ingrid told me to give you this, for the nena."
Frido took your backpack with an exaggerated groan that had you in peals of laughter. "y/n, this is Aitana. She's a friend of your sister's."
You looked up at Aitana. She looked cool in a different way to Mapi's coolness but she was still pretty cool in your humble opinion. "Hi."
She smiled at you. "Hi, y/n. I have heard a lot about you from Ingrid and Mapi. It's nice to meet you finally."
"Hi," You said again because you weren't entirely sure what to say to that. You thought for a moment before you decided to test her coolness. "I have light-up shoes...from Ingrid's Mapi." You stamped your feet like you did at lunch.
"Wow," Aitana said in awe, cementing herself in your cool list," Those are so cool. I wish I had light-up shoes."
You nodded sagely. "They are the best."
"Light-up shoes?" Another voice said, a girl you knew to be Patri," I should have worn my light-up shoes today. We could have matched."
Mapi had told you about Patri before - how she was almost as cool as Mapi but not quite. With this knowledge, you patted Patri's leg almost patronisingly.
"It's okay. I can wear my light-up shoes tomorrow so you can wear yours too. So we can match."
Patri felt oddly touched at your words. "Thank you, nena."
You beamed. "I match with Ingrid when she comes home too. We have the same t-shirt and the same trousers. Mamma says Ingrid is silly to match with me because I'm so little but Ingrid doesn't care because she's super cool."
"Ingrid is super cool," Another voice said. Your head swivelled between the little group that amassed around you. This girl was shorter than the others but she had tattoos so was automatically super cool in your head because some of your most favourite people had tattoos as well.
"She is!" You got a bit excited at that. Not many people understand how super cool your older sister was so you were happy that someone other than you said it aloud.
"I like you," You declared firmly, holding out a hand for her to shake," Let's be friends. I'm y/n."
The girl shook your hand gladly. "I'm Claudia."
An exaggerated gasp sounded from behind you. "Are you replacing me with Pina, nena? Is she your new best friend?"
You escaped your little group and ran into the newcomer's arms immediately.
"Don't be silly," You said, patting her on the cheek," You're Tia Alexia, my most favourite."
"Very good, nena," She praised, laying a kiss to your crown.
"I was wondering when you would steal her," Mapi said as she approached," I'm surprised it took you so long."
Alexia flashed her a smile. "I though I would let everyone get to know my favourite nena before stealing her away. Want to hang out with me, y/n?"
"Ja!"
You spent the rest of the day, firmly attached to Alexia's side.
You met her the second to last time Mamma and Papa took you to visit Ingrid. They had gone out for the day to do touristy things while you stayed in with Ingrid, Mapi and Bagheera. Alexia had stopped by in a rush of busy activity and ended up staying well into the evening - helping you play all of Ingrid's board games and even putting together a puzzle before your bedtime.
The last time you visited Ingrid, she was there again and appeared almost every day of your stay until you finally relented to calling her Tia when she asked.
"No," Alexia said when the day was over and Ingrid came to collect you," This is my y/n. I'm taking her home with me." She bounced you up and down. "Wouldn't that be fun, nena? You come home with me and we'll have a sleepover!"
"With chicken nuggets?" You asked hopefully.
"Si! Of course!"
"Ale," Ingrid said with an eye roll," Come on, hand her over. Elskling, you can't sleep over at Alexia's house. You don't have any clothes to take."
You frowned at that. Ingrid was right - she usually was - but you were excellent at coming up with solutions to problems.
"Tia Alexia can come to our house!" You said," Because she can wear your clothes and she can sleep in my bed with me in the guest room!"
"Excellent plan!" Alexia complimented with a grin," She's right, Ingrid. Don't separate me from my nena so soon."
Ingrid rolled her eyes, already knowing she was fighting a losing battle when she saw Mapi giggling in the corner. "She's here all summer. You'll see her plenty. Besides, haven't you got to go home and feed Nala?"
Helpful as ever, you spoke up," We can go to Alexia's house to feed Nala and then come home for the sleepover. Please, Ingrid? Please, please, please?"
You batted your eyelashes at her and she sighed.
"You have to promise that you'll eat all your dinner," Ingrid said before winking," And that you'll make sure your Tia Alexia gives you big cuddles at bedtime."
Your eyes lit up with joy. "I can do that!"

A/N: sorry for the delay lovelies, this part is a liiiiittle lame but i promise to give you what you want in the next. Xx
———————
You realized the next day there were a limited number of guys with those beautiful blue eyes and brown hair. Only three of them felt worth considering, for the others had voices that sounded too different or hobbies that contrasted with Kick-Ass’ obvious interests.
On your way to second hour, you noticed one of them walking down the hall as you switched books from your locker. You looked at him, hoping he would notice. He made eye contact with you for a second and smiled, but since you didn’t really know him, he kept on walking.
You thought maybe if that was him then he would have tried to avoid talking to you, for the obvious reason that he couldn’t have you knowing his identity.
You hoped it was that guy rather than any of the others. He was pretty good looking and a few girls you knew had a crush on him. Of course he was oblivious though.
“Hey Cleo.” You smiled as Cleo leaned against the locker next to yours.
“I think I’m getting a Kick-Ass fever.” She spoke. Thinking of the events of the night before, you replied. “How so?”
“I can’t stop thinking about him… And what you told me about him yesterday.”
“Right, yeah…” You chewed the tissue on the inside of your cheek, biting back a grin that dared to creep up on your face knowing you were the girl getting the action with Kick-Ass out of all his fans.
“Anything new happen with him? Did he send you anything on MySpace?” She winked, making you scoff in disgust.
“Um well…”
Cleo lit up in excitement, “What happened!?”
“He got hurt. Like real bad, and I patched him up and…”
“Please tell me what I think you’re gonna say,” She smiled, biting her bottom lip as she gripped your bicep from elation.
“I kissed him…” You smiled, she stared in utter shock but you knew she was happy for you.
“Cleo, promise me you won’t say anything because I really don’t want his fangirls to bombard me with questions only to TP my house.” You looked at her seriously.
“Of course.” She nodded sincerely.
“Was he a good kisser?” She whispered feverishly.
“Well, I could tell he didn’t have that much experience at first, and he even admitted to it, but he got the hang of it really quick.” You giggled. “And… He’s got really nice muscles.” You grinned, Cleo’s eyes widening, “Wait so—“
“He had to take his suit off for me to fix him up.”
The conversation continued as you told her in detail about what happened. You made your way to your next class, spotting Marty, Dave, and Todd walking through the crowd.
“Hey guys,” Spoke Cleo, stopping on the side of the corridor and getting their attention quickly but there was nothing you could do.
“Hi,” You greeted them as well. Dave looked gone. He had incredibly dark circles like he didn’t get any sleep. He also had a bruise forming on his left eye, and a cut on his lip.
“‘Sup.” Todd replied. Marty saluting you as well.
Dave smiled at Cleo, soon turning to you and feeling his knees weaken. He knew he couldn’t act differently, or else you would know. He knew you weren’t stupid.
“Hi.” His voice almost trembling as he swallowed, trying to avoid your gaze.
“Hey asshole.” You said chuckling.
He rolled his eyes and suddenly, he forgot that he made out with you twelve hours ago.
“What happened to your eye…?” You pointed at your own, mirroring the area in which he had the bruise.
“I got jumped again.” He said simply, looking into your eyes in an attempt to make it believable.
He wanted to look away from you, so that you wouldn’t catch on, but he just couldn’t. He noticed how your hair was getting in your face and he just wanted to push it out of the way to look at your pretty face.
Maybe he was spacing out? Probably tired from how much homework he had or something. You assumed lack of sleep from all that was why he looked so drained.
“You guys wanna get coffee at Atomic Comics later?” Cleo asked.
You shot her a look. She looked back, slightly nodding at Todd, whom she had a big crush on, but you knew he wouldn’t pick up on it. And you knew Cleo was too much of a pussy to ask him out alone.
Dave looked at you both, “We have to study for that project thing from sixth period,” pointing between you and himself.
“Right, yeah.” You sighed in annoyance.
He lowered his eyes, noticing your reaction. Okay so clearly you haven’t found out it’s him yet. Maybe if you knew it was him then you’d like him more? That being the answer he preferred, or you’d get really fucking pissed and call him things he wasn’t.
“We gotta get to class, Cleo.” You reminded her, holding onto the strap of your backpack and slowly moving towards the middle of the hall to begin your walk to second period.
"Bye," Dave spoke up, mostly to you, but his voice cracked as he realized he let it slip out.
You turned to him along with the others, the four of you looking at him strangely. His face began heating up from embarrassment so he cleared his throat, biting his lip as he pushed past you to make his way to his next class.
———————
Most of your morning was uneventful as usual, walking past Dave in the halls but it seemed like he lost his breath each time he spotted you. For the first few minutes of lunch, you and Cleo sat with Marty and Todd again, but somehow Dave hadn't joined you yet.
"Yeah, but that's because it's Superman." You heard Cleo state as you were brought back to reality.
"Are there any super heroes who's love interest doesn't like them until they reveal themselves as a super-hero?" Cleo turned to you.
"Uh, yeah I'm pretty sure there are." you answered.
Just then you spotted Dave making his way to your table, an irritated expression on his face.
"What happened to you?" Said Todd.
“The teacher made me go to the counselor's office." He motioned to his face with his index finger.
“Right. What'd she ask you about?" You spoke up as he sat down.
His eyes shot in your direction, almost like he forgot you were there. He swallowed as he answered your question. "She told me I should reach out to an adult if I'm getting mistreated at home or…being…bullied." He spoke like it was the most ridiculous story he'd ever told.
You giggled, "Well, what'd you tell her?"
"That I got jumped? Duh."
“Did you?” You questioned seriously.
He looked at you for a second, “Yeah.” He said simply, hoping you wouldn’t ask any further. Technically, he wasn’t lying. He did get jumped. But not for the sake of being robbed. They were trying to kill him.
“I’m glad you’re okay…I guess.” You admitted, earning looks from everyone else at the table.
Dave had to bite back the widest grin. “Um... Thanks.” He meant it. He obviously couldn’t tell you but you were pretty much the whole reason he was okay with how you stitched him up.
“…What?” You looked back at the other three. “If he wasn’t okay I’d have to do the project all by myself.” You said, trying to crack a joke out of it even if you were serious about him being okay.
“Anyway…” Cleo suddenly perked up, remembering what had happened with Kick-Ass.
“Oh yeah, someone over here has been getting real close with Kick-Ass these past few days.” She nudged your arm, smirking.
“Wait, really?” Marty spoke, “What’s he like, is he like avenging his parents,” he joked, earning a chuckle from Todd. Dave was oddly quiet.
“I dunno. He said he just wanted to see what it was like, I guess? And that he wanted to help people because no one else does.”
“Cute.” Said Cleo.
“Laaaame.” Spoke Marty, Todd soon agreeing with him.
“Didn’t you also kiss him?” Cleo spoke up.
You hit her arm, rolling your eyes as you were faced with having to admit.
“Dude, he's a superhero. He kisses like a ton of girls.”
He didn't know why you had lied about that but was grateful.
“Was he a good kisser?”
You didn’t understand for having to ask all this in front of the small group of boys. What you did know, was that the room got pretty hot with the position you were in.
Dave looked up at you expecting an answer as Todd and Marty watched you disinterested and kept on eating.
“Yeah.” You said.
He felt his stomach twist at your words, locking eyes with you for long enough to feel a blood rush in his face.
“Dave, what exactly did they do to your face? I mean all they had to do was put you on the ground right, not rip your face off.” You asked curiously, suddenly changing the topic.
He was at a loss for words for a minute, mouth vaguely ajar and still trying to recover from the fact you thought he was a good kisser.
“I got punched in the face like five times and I was also st—” He paused, forgetting he got stabbed and that you stitched it up. “stabbed—in the back…” He tried making it sound convincing.
“Right, got it.” You paused. “Do you wanna get a cab home together? Now I’m scared shitless to get one by myself, and you live like right next to me so… We can both avoid getting our asses robbed.” You chuckled.
“Okay…?” He he squinted, glancing at Marty and Todd which looked at him like he was out of his mind.
———————
You’d been sitting on the curb in front of the school, waiting for what had been about half an hour for Dave.
“Hey, sorry. Mr. Duaine wanted to talk with me.” Dave’s familiar voice rang out as he approached you.
“It’s okay. I called a cab a few minutes ago, should be getting here in a bit.” You answered.
Dave sat down next to you, the sun hitting both your heads with a sickening heat. But the silence was peaceful somehow, it didn’t get awkward.
“Hey, Dave?”
He turned his head to look at you, his eyes squinting from the brightness of the sun. But remembering what happened last night, he couldn't keep his gaze on you for too long.
“Hm?”
Chewing on your lip, you held out your hand to him. “Friends?”
He took a moment to look at your hand, lifting his eyes back up at you. He hesitated, and you didn’t blame him. “What?” He looked at you accusingly.
You looked back down at the concrete in front of you, trying to find whatever words you had in the back of your mind to try and explain yourself.
“I…”
You faced him, “I think I don’t hate you that much anymore.”
He let out a soft laugh, “You think?”
You threw a small pebble you found onto the street before you two. “…Sorry I cut you off like that…”
You sighed. “I miss being friends with you. You were my best friend and I shoved it up my ass because you liked a girl and hadn’t even gotten to that point of my life yet...” You paused, “I mean, starting to crush on boys…” you added. “I didn’t understand why you liked her so much when I thought we were supposed to be focused on stupid shit like comics. You grew up before me and it made me feel horrible.”
Dave only stared at you with his lips parted, like he was going to say something, but nothing slipped out. Hearing all this from you made him want to make out with you again.
“Obviously at this point I understand you, but… You didn’t have to push me away, y’know? After a while you kinda just ignored me or turned me down when I wanted to hang out.”
Dave’s heart grew heavier with your words. He never knew how much it affected you, he thought you didn’t care about the friendship you had either and that you just dropped him for no reason. Gosh he was so fucking blind.
“I’m sorry.” He said simply, gazing at the ground in front of him.
“I miss being friends with you too.” Dave finally brought his eyes to yours, giving you a soft, but guilty smile.
“I’m sorry I treated you like that. I mean, you’re the only friend I had for that long. You were also the only girl I could talk to without embarrassing myself.” He paused, turning to you and seeing your eyebrows furrowed.
“Wait—“ His eyes widened, “that—that sounds wrong—I mean, you… I—I don’t like you like that, um… I was just wanting to say that—since I could talk to you, I…” He still wasn’t getting his point across and only embarrassed himself further.
“Fuck, I… You know what I meant.“ He chuckled awkwardly.
“Yes, I get your point, Dave.” You chuckled.
“Okay, good.” he breathed, scoffing at himself but his face flushed red.
"Are you blushing?" You felt your heart skip before biting back a laugh, considering that everything he said was ridiculous. “Two years without me and you already miss me so much you get a crush on me?” You finally giggled.
“Shut up,” he rolled his eyes at your laughter, “Gross.”
“You asshole!” you smacked his arm.
He let himself laugh along with you, until suddenly his mind began flooding with thoughts of how you kissed him the night before. How soft and warm your lips were, how your hands felt touching his chest, playing with his hair. How he was resisting so hard not to tell you who he was and that he knew you, not to beg you to touch him in ways he’s never been touched before.
He did think of you that way although he’d never admit it out loud.
“Whatever.” You scoffed, completely oblivious to the fact that, in reality, this boy was head over heels for you.
“Fine.” He held his hand out like you had just done for him, “Friends. I guess.” He playfully rolled his eyes and you took it with no hesitation, giving him a firm shake.
“So uh,” he began as he let go of your hand, “You and Kick-Ass.” He hid a smile.
You scoffed, “What, are you jealous?” you smirked.
“Ew.” He scorned. “The way you talked about him at lunch, thanks for giving me something to relentlessly make fun of you for. Imagine liking a guy you don’t even know.” he teased. But you could have him all you wanted. You did have him, all to yourself, unbeknownst to you.
“Shut up, Dave! It’s not like I’m in love with him. I don’t think I’d even date him...” You laughed
He took a nervous breath, like somehow you could read his mind, that he was practically lying to you and you knew.
In the current moment he wanted to kiss you like he did yesterday. So perilously. But not just kiss you, he wanted to love you. He kept watching you as your laugh died down and you smiled, looking elsewhere. A smile threatened to break upon his lips because of how pretty you looked and that beautifully contagious smile.
Dave was snapped from his thoughts as he heard a car approaching, looking in the direction of the cab as it pulled up in front of the two of you. The boy stood up first, quickly grabbing your hand to pull you up, and surprisingly, he opened the door for you. You decided to scoot all the way to the other side so that he wouldn’t have to walk around.
“Where to?”
————
Not long passed before you were dropped off at the entrance to your neighborhood.
“Thank you!” You called, Dave paying the driver what was due as she drove away.
“Thanks for getting that.” You told Dave, grateful that he had payed for you.
“Yeah…” He replied, adjusting his backpack as he turned to walk next to you. You heard a quiet wince and noticed a little grimace on his face.
“Hey, are you okay?”
“Yes. I’m good.” He replied quickly, squirming in his place.
"You sure?" You watched him with a look of concern.
"Yeah, just a bruise from yesterday."
You only nodded, beginning to walk down the sidewalk to get home.
"So..." Dave began speaking after a moment, although the silence was comfortable, he still wanted to talk to you.
"Were you able to get any part of the project done last night?" You asked.
"I stayed up super late writing my part. What about you?"
You didn't realize that 'late' meant he was up until 2 AM because of everything that had happened.
"I started kind of early but..." You paused, remembering how Kick-Ass had gotten hurt. "Some...stuff happened and I got distracted... I only got to write like two paragraphs."
He smiled, he got you so distracted that you couldn't even finish your homework. He felt proud to be so memorable as Kick-Ass.
"What happened?" He asked this out of 'curiosity.'
"Uh my friend called and we were talking all night..." You lied.
"Oh, alright." He bit back a smile.
"What about you? Why were you up so late?"
"I was just... I had some stuff to take care of with my dad a—and we got home kind of late, so…”
“Mm.” You nodded.
As you stepped foot on your porch, you turned to salute Dave until you saw him later.
“Just come over at like seven.” You suggested, smiling and sending a small wave soon after.
“Okay, see you.” He subtly sized you up, flashing his dimpled smile before walking back to his own home.
Since when was his smile so attractive?

Tumblr media
You were walking next to Noah to your local pub, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside you like a whirlpool. You'd been best friends with Noah for as long as you can remember, sharing laughs, tears, heartbreak, happiness and everything in between. But there was this secret, this feeling you kept hidden deep down—a kind of love that felt too risky to admit, scared it might ruin your friendship.
As you arrived at your local pub, the familiar sights and sounds washed over you as you settled in your usual spot. Noah plopped down beside you, his smile lighting up the room. It was a routine, almost, Noah snagging the seat next to you without fail. If he didn't, well, he'd sulk like a kid missing their favorite toy.
"So, what's the plan for tonight?" Noah asked, his eyes sparkling as he leaned in closer.
"I was thinking we could start with a game of pool," you suggested.
"Sounds like a plan," he replied, his tone light and playful. "But you know I'm going to beat you at pool, right?"
You laughed. “We'll see about that," you teased, your heart swelling with love for your best friend. "Besides, if you beat me, I might have to find a handsome stranger to console me."
There was a pause, a flicker in Noah's eyes that caught your attention. His smile wavered, his gaze shifting.
"Really?" Noah's asked, arching his brow.
You shrugged. "Who knows?" you said with a playful wink. "I might just sweep some unsuspecting guy off his feet with my killer pool skills."
Noah's expression darkened. “Mh, okay.” he muttered.
You furrowed your brow, caught off guard by the sudden change in Noah's demeanor. "Are you okay?" you asked, concern coloring your tone.
Noah forced a smile, avoiding your gaze. "Yeah, I'm fine," he insisted, his tone not quite convincing.
Lost in your thoughts, you attempted to immerse yourself in conversation with your other friends, hoping to distract yourself. But then, like a sudden gust of wind disrupting the peace, the door swung open almost with a theatrical flair, like those damn Hollywood movies, and just the most beautiful girl stepped inside.
Your heart skipped a beat as she made her way across the room, her presence along drawing the attention of everyone around her. Your gaze followed her, unable to tear away as she approached Noah, her smile as bright as the stars.
And then, like a dagger to your heart, Noah turned towards you and the rest of your group, his eyes lit up with genuine joy. "I want you to meet someone special," he said, his voice filled with excitement.
"This is Heather," he introduced, his gaze never leaving your face. "My girlfriend."
The words hung in the air like a heavy shroud, suffocating you with their weight. You forced a smile, your heart breaking with each syllable that escaped Noah's lips. Who the fuck is she and where did she came from? Since when has Noah a girlfriend?
"It's lovely to meet you, Heather," you said with the sweetest smile.
Heather smiled warmly. "Likewise! Noah's told me so much about you," she said, her voice a gentle melody in the chaos of your thoughts.
As Noah and Heather chatted with the others, you felt yourself drifting further away.
Nicholas squeezed your hand, his silent support a lifeline. "Are you okay?" he whispered.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?” you whispered back as casually as you could sound.
You watched as Noah and Heather sat down hand in hand, unable to suppress the ache in your heart.
Feeling overwhelmed, you excused yourself to go to the restroom, Juno, your best friend, offering to come with you. As soon as the door closed behind you, the tears just came streaming down, and you collapsed against the wall, also like a fucking Hollywood movie.
Juno wrapped her arms around you, holding you tight as you sobbed. Juno knew about your feelings towards Noah.
"I don't know what to do, Juno," you whispered between sobs. "Noah, he... he's always so flirty with me, always acting strange when I mention other guys, always so touchy and needy and then he pulls this stunt? Since when is he dating a girl named Heather?”
Juno's grip tightened around you, her own confusion evident in her silence for a moment. "I wish I had the answers for you, Y/N," she finally said. "But I don’t, I’m sorry, men are trash."
Her unexpected comment caught you off guard, and despite feeling heavy, a little laugh came out. It was a moment of relief in the middle of all the chaos.
You nodded, tears still running down your face. Despite feeling sad and insecure because Heather was the most stunning girl you’ve had ever seen, you knew you had to act tough.
Standing up straight, you wiped away your tears. "No man is going to make me cry today," you declared. "I'm not going to let Noah ruin my night. I'm here to have fun, and that's exactly what I'm going to do."
As the night rolled on and the drinks kept coming, you did your best to ignore Noah and Heather. But for some reason, Heather seemed dead set on getting to know you, constantly interrupting your conversations with her silly questions. You just wished she'd leave you alone with her pretty eyes, perfect nose, and flawless skin.
Despite your efforts to be friendly, you kept your interactions with her short. Not really in the mood to mingle with her, even though nothing was her fault actually. It’s not like she had any say in how God chose her to be his favourite. You asked Noah to play a game of pool, but suddenly he wasn't interested anymore, only eyes for Heather. So, you did what you knew best: flee the situation and find that handsome stranger to console you.
If Noah could bring along his girlfriend, you figured you could find some fun for the night too, right?
Juno was by your side, the ultimate wing woman. It being a Friday night, the pub was crowded with people. It didn't take long for Juno and you to approach a couple of guys for a game of pool. You played the part of a clueless girl, pretending you didn't know how to play, so the tall, blonde haired stranger would offer his help, just like in the movies, again.
As you engaged in the game, bantering back and forth, the tension between you and the stranger grew stronger. With a playful smirk, he leaned in closer, his eyes locking with yours. "You know, for someone who claims not to know how to play, you're doing pretty well," he smiled.
You chuckled softly, feeling a flutter in your chest. "Beginner's luck, I suppose," you replied. "But who knows, maybe you could teach me a thing or two?"
A spark of interest igniting in his eyes. "I'd be happy to give you a few pointers," he said flirty. "But only if you promise to give me a chance to win you over with more than just pool skills."
You leaned in closer, your voice dropping to a whisper. "Well, in that case, consider me intrigued," you said, a smile playing at your lips. "Lead the way, pool master."
“I am Jax by the way” he said as he flashed a smile. “Y/N, nice to meet you.”
Noah watched as you interacted with that douche, sharing laughs and exchanging glances, and couldn't shake the unsettling feeling in the pit of his stomach. His discontent grew more apparent by the minute.
Finally, unable to contain his annoyance any longer, Noah started bitching to Nicholas. "Can you believe Y/N right now?" he asked sharply. "She's completely ignoring me for that guy. It's like she doesn't even care that I'm here. I mean us, I thought it was a friends night out.”
Nicholas raised an eyebrow, looking at Noah with a hint of amusement. "Maybe she's just having fun," he suggested.
But Noah shook his head, his frustration evident. "It's not just that," he continued, growing more agitated. "That guy she's with, he's not good enough for her. And he clearly doesn't have a clue what she wants.”
“And you know what Y/N wants? Are you’re the Y/N expert?” he laughs.
Without hesitation, Noah replied firmly, "Yes, of course I do. And it's not that guy." His tone left no room for doubt.
Nicholas listened carefully as Noah complained further. "Are you jealous?" Nicholas asked, even though he already knew the answer.
Noah's expression darkened, his jaw tensing as he struggled to contain his emotions. "Why would I be jealous?" he replied defensively. "I've got Heather, remember?"
But Nicholas could tell that Noah wasn't being completely honest. It was clear that Noah's true feelings for you were far more complicated than he was willing to admit.
As you chatted with Jax during the game, seeing Noah and Heather being all lovey-dovey in the corner made you feel a bit jealous, well this was maybe an understatement. They looked so cozy together, like they belonged with each other. It made you want to puke, want to pull your hair out but it also made you wish you were Heather as well. You just wanted to smash her pretty, little face into a wall. So, yeah, you were only a bit jealous.
"So, how did you end up here tonight?" Jax asked, flashing you a friendly smile as he lined up his shot.
“Nothing special, just hanging out with some friends.” You replied nonchalantly.
Jax chuckled, leaning against the pool table. "Same here. Thought I'd come out and see what the night had in store. And I must say, meeting someone as intriguing as you was definitely unexpected."
You felt a blush creeping up your cheeks at his compliment. "Flattery will get you everywhere," you teased, taking your turn at the pool table.
As the game continued, the conversation flowed effortlessly between you and Jax. But you couldn't stop thinking about Noah and Heather. Feeling jealous like that was weird for you, and it made you feel like like you weren’t good enough.
But before you knew it, the game had ended, but the tension between you and Jax grew strong. With a shy smile, you found yourself blurting out, "Do you maybe want to go for some fresh air?”
You knew you were acting out of spite and jealousy, but Jax was a cute guy, so no harm, right?
Jax's eyes lit up with excitement, mirroring your own. "I'd love to," he replied eagerly. "Lead the way." mimicking your words from earlier.
You motioned for Juno, to let her know you were okay as you and Jax made your way out of the bustling pub.
Meanwhile, Noah's mood was shifting from bad to worse as he watched you leaving with Jax. His face turned red with anger, and he clenched his fists, fuming silently. Nicholas noticed Noah's frustration and tried to calm him down.
“Are you okay, man?” Nicholas asked.
Noah waved him off, trying to play it cool. "It's nothing, just being protective, you know? Y/N's my best friend, and I just want to make sure she's okay," he said, but his words rang hollow, even to himself.
And to make matters worse, Heather was up his ass as well now. Heather, who had been observing the situation all night, couldn't hold back her frustration any longer. She wasn't a fool. Noah was always talking about you. About how funny you were, how kind you were, even how beautiful you were. That's why Heather wanted to get to know you tonight, to scout the competition.
"Noah, ever since Y/N went to talk with that guy, you've been acting weird," she said, her voice tinged with annoyance.
Noah's facade cracked, his frustration boiling over. "Why are you acting jealous all of a sudden? Y/N’s just my best friend," he snapped.
Heather's eyes widened in shock, hurt flashing across her face. "Excuse me?" her voice rising in anger. “I’m the one acting jealous? You're the one with a girlfriend, yet you're acting like a possessive boyfriend over another girl. Maybe you should figure out what you really want before pointing fingers at me!”
"No, no, it's not like that," Noah tried to backtrack, but his words only seemed to further fuel Heather's anger.
"What do you mean it's not like that? It’s exactly like that!” Heather yelled, her voice sharp with frustration.
Heather stood up in a hurry, grabbing her jacket from the chair. "Call me when you made up your mind about what you want, I don't have time for this." she said firmly before storming out of the pub.
Noah watched her go, his jaw clenched in stubborn silence. He made no move to follow her, his gaze followin her to the door where he spotted you standing outside. The sight of you and the stranger chatting outside only seemed to add fuel to the fire of Noah's already simmering emotions. A mixture of jealousy and frustration swirling within him.
He didn't know what to do, so he just stayed where he was. He didn't chase after Heather, and he didn't approach you either. He just stood there, watching, feeling lost.
To be continued.

A rose in a bed of thorns• cassian/eris/rhysand x reader

Genre: smut
Summary: Eris is a cruel, possessive male with a bad reputation but for you, he’s do anything to make you happy— even if that means letting his two sworn enemies fuck you.
A/n: i felt so dirty writing this 😫 and I dedicate this slutty work of art to my bestie and sis-in-law, @redbleedingrose for her birthday. Happy birthday pretty girl, I love you 💋 and cherish our friendship. (I also made the text pink for you bookie)
Tumblr media
“Are you sure that you’re okay with this?”
Eris’ eyes roamed over the full Illyrian male once more, taking in the sculpted muscles of his body for the fifth time that night. The male was mesmerizing, irritatingly so, but Eris wasn’t checking him out because of his beauty– but because of yours.
He had to keep making sure that you would only get the best, the most handsome males and females of Prythian, to fuck you. His darling little mate would never need to settle for less, and since Illyrian didn’t fall under the ‘filth’ category for you, he would just have to look past their reputation just to see that smile on your face. He never understood your taste, Illyrian’s were disgusting, fowl bastards that were created for nothing more than battle, but you seemed to drool over them.
Well, not all of the bat-like beings; just two.
He took in a sharp breath, praying you didn’t notice it, as his eyes shifted back to his high lady. Even now, in the lighting of a court that is foreign to his own, you looked absolutely breathtaking. Your eyes were as bright as the stars above you, twinkling with hope and elation as your pupils found him. You were incredibly excited for tonight, the anticipation from the years of built up longing had ignited a fire in your veins that only your mate had ever lit and you were very interested in what it would be like to be filled by the cocks of Prythian’s strongest males. You’ve heard dozens of stories about their bedding habits, how they fuck like gods and treat their lovers like the finest gold, and it had always left you wanting more than a few flirty glances. Your skin glowed with joy the moment Eris told you of your birthday gift, one of many you assume, and the sparkle in your eye hadn’t left since.
Eris took your hand in his, and brought it to his lips, placing a soft kiss to your knuckles.
“I want you to be happy, my love. This is a one time opportunity, don’t waste it worrying about me.”
Unhappy with his answer and the way he avoided the question, you narrowed your eyes at him slightly. “That wasn’t what I asked.”
His brows furrowed as he glanced at the two males awaiting on the bed across the room from you both, smirks on their faces as they practically tore your dress off with their hungry eyes. Rhysand’s violet orbs slowly dragged his gaze along every inch of you, taking in every curve and shape of you attentively, engraving your clothed body in his mind before fucking you silly. Tonight was a night he and his brother would be sure to remember, and he wanted to savor every blissful moment before you both went back to your lives. His brother, Cassian, on the other hand, was admiring your giving figure, in absolute awe of this reality as you stood with your back facing him. His tongue darted from his mouth to wet his lips as you smiled softly to your mate, and his palms suddenly felt sweaty and his pants too tight. You were such a sweetheart, so gentle and kind always, even to such a prick like Eris. Cassian never understood why the Cauldron fated you with the son of autumn, you were like a bright star that would shine beautifully at the night court, but it wasn’t your fault. Perhaps you had a dark spot, one that no one but your mate and you knew about. Deciding not the think too much about it and ruin the perfect image of you he had created, he shook that theory off and blamed fate instead as you turned away from the male and faced the two Illyrians with a flushed smile.
“Um,” you hummed, eyes darting between the two large males excitedly. “So who wants to go first?”
The clicking of your mate’s tongue caused your head to whip back in his direction, only to find him smirking wildly down at you, a slender finger held up to you.
“Ah, ah, my little dove.” he poked your nose softly, a sweet gesture that you knew was teasing. “You think that just because I’m not fucking you tonight that you get to be in charge?” a dry, humorless laugh left his throat. “That’s really fucking cute.”
–
“Oh fuck! Right there, please!”
A breathy chuckle sounded from Cassian as he bucked his hips into your cunt rapidly, a wide grin plastered on his face at your shaking legs and gaped face. It was the result of his harsh thrusts to your g-spot nonstop for the past twenty minutes, ripping orgasm after orgasm out of you until your voice turned hoarse from screaming his name. Your toes cramped from tightly curling all night but you couldn’t find it in you to care as your cunt was being fucked so good.
“Is he fucking you good, bunny? Making my pussy feel good?” Eris cooed at you, his warm hand combing through your hair to soothe you and bring your attention to him; right where it belongs.
You let out a huff of air as Cassian’s thumb found your clit and rubbed it in fast circles, causing your back to arch against Eris’ chest and your pussy to pulse around his cock, just like he had already made it do a dozen times tonight.
As your mate caught sight of your glazed over eyes and heaving chest, his brow raised in question, obviously a reminder for you to take if you paid close enough attention. But when instead, your eyes rolled back and a silent scream fell from your lips, he knew the words weren’t going to tumble out of your mouth any time soon.
His flameful gaze flickered to the massive general between your legs, dark and lustful and filled with dominance as he glared up at Cassian.
“Stop fucking her.”
Eris’ voice was stern, but the look on his face gave away just how much this mattered to him– how much the power over you mattered to him. His brows lowered over his eyes in a dark manner as fire ignited in his eyes, almost turning them into a feral gold. The clenched teeth and flexed jaw didn’t go unnoticed by any of the males as their attention turned to him.
For a moment, Cassian hesitated, continuing his assault on your pussy as you came without permission on his cock. Approval of your orgasm didn’t matter to him, you were meant to enjoy yourself tonight, let loose before the night and autumn court become strangers again. He wasn’t going to waste your time edging you when he could be pulling countless pleasure out of you instead, and the tightening feeling of your cunt around his cock was just a bonus of your overstimulated state. But, Eris seemed to have cared tons, because every extra thrust sent inside of you earned a harsh glare from your mate until finally, he annoyed Cassian enough to obey.
His cock still inside of the warm walls of your pulsating cunt, the tip resting just right against your cervix as you both caught your breaths and regained your senses under the eyes of two high lords.
“Why’d you make me stop, you prick?”
There were a million insults that the red head thought to have fired back at the Illyrian, all of which involved his upbringing, but the way your hand gripped his grounded him to stay civil for now. You know, since the male  was still inside of you and could very well snatch you as quick as he could say ‘fuck you, Vanserra.’
“Because someone,” Eris looked back down at your fucked out face in disapproval before squishing your cheeks together roughly, then leaning down until your noses touched and his eyes bored into yours. “Seemed to have forgotten her godsdamned manners. Haven’t you, slut?”
You felt small underneath his hard glare and the words stopped in your throat as you thought of  a proper response.
Your silence left Eris to grow impatient, causing him to raise a brow at you and squish your cheeks harder. When you squeaked softly in pain, Rhysand was quick to sit up in case you were in any need of protection. Killing Eris Vanserra never sounded like a bad idea to him, or any of his family, if it weren’t for the disastrous war it would cause,  but for you? He would do it without any second thought.
“Answer me, slut, or have you gone so dumb that you can’t even form a sentence?”
You swallowed thick and tried to shake your head underneath his firm hand.
“N-no, sir. I-i’m sorry, i-”
“You’re sorry for what, my greedy whore?” Eris hissed.
Rhysand and Cassian both shared a glance as the velvet haired male insulted you, sitting up instinctively and furrowing their brows tightly out of rage and concern for you. It wasn’t uncommon for Cassian to get protective of females, especially from a male’s offensive comments and treatment, but this time, Rhys swore it felt different. He couldn’t lie, though, and say he didn’t feel the same way his brother most likely was, it enraged him to hear such degrading words thrown at such an angel like you.
“You’re being too harsh, go easier on her.” the general interjected, his wings puffing out ever so slightly for preparation in case of a possible conflict. Things were always unpredictable with the Vanserra’s,the brothers would know better than anyone.
“I agree, brother, stars like this one do not deserve such fowl words to be thrown at her. If she were mine-”
The eldest Vanserra snarled as he whipped his head toward the Illyrian’s resting against the head board, giving him glares sharp enough to kill. He shook them off as he stared into violet irises.
“But she is not, therefore you will shut your mouth about how I speak to my high lady, unless I ask.”
You felt smaller than a speck of dust when his eyes found your’s again, and this time he the glare was directed to you as he awaited your answer.
“Fo-for cumming without asking first, sir.” you mumbled.
A smirk tugged at his lips, his grip loosening on your cheeks as he placed a soft kiss to your nose after finally hearing what he wanted all alone.
“Good girl.” he praised, proud that he had trained such a good whore for him to show off. His finger trailed along your jaw softly as your breathing slowed and calmed down under his gentle touch, the touch of your favorite lover. “Now, do you think you could be extra good and take Rhysand’s cock now for me?”
Although his words were sweet and encouraging, the tone in which he spoke held a completely different meaning, one you knew all too well. He wasn’t asking you if you could handle another fuck, no, the way his lips upturned and his voice mocked you made that clear to you. To someone who wasn’t in his bed every night, this would seem like a sweet interaction between too connected souls but with you and eris, it was different; more like a master with his puppy.
“Y-yes, sir.”
Your choked out answer satisfied your mate enough to widen his smirk into a grin.
“Good girl.”
His hands traveled down your body and rested on your limp hands, picking them up off the mattress and holding them in his own before he nodded to Cassian in dismissal.
“You’re finished.” He said to the Illyrian moments before the larger male pulled out.
Rhysand smiled coyly as his brother flopped down next to him, flashing him a wink then scotting to the edge of the bed where your pussy was presented to him, oozing out cum like a little dispenser.
“Are you ready for me, beautiful?” the high lord muttered as he aligned his cock with your entrance, hovering over you despite your mate’s protests from the top of you. It was easy to remind himself how little effort it would take to shatter Eris’ mind that moment, but the way your eyes sparkled up at him refrained him from doing so.
You smiled tiredly, yet excited, in response before nodding.
Rhysand’s lips ghosted your cheek, a raspy chuckle leaving his throat and tickling your mind as the tip of his cock nudged at your swollen clit. The teasing action caused you to gasp and your thighs to instinctively shut around his hips, but he was quick to spread them back open.
A grin played out on the high lord’s lips before he placed a kiss to the side of your lips, causing your mate to snarl and his grip on your hands tighten, before sliding the head of his cock down to your leaking entrance and slipping in slowly.
You both made sounds of your own at the first stroke, a growl from him and a whine came from you, and you could feel everything as he pushed himself inside of you. The thick veins of his cock felt accentuated, as if you could feel the thunderous heart beats from your cunt with each second that passed as he stilled to allow you to stretch for him.
“You,” he sighed blissfully. “Feel fucking exquisite, little one.”  a small growl ended his sentence as you clenched around his cock from the compliment.
Although you were plenty used to hearing about how amazing you feel, mostly from Eris, the phrase sounded sexier and more genuine coming from Rhysand; the most powerful high lord that was currently balls deep inside of your walls. Your crush on him had begun even before you met Eris, years prior to the bond was countless weeks of mutual pining from the both of you, and if it wasn’t for your father’s disapproval of the high lord, you would have already been imprinted by his cock years ago.
Not that you were complaining though, Eris gave you plenty enough pleasure to make you forget all about your little crush and feel more than satisfied with him. But, you couldn’t deny the way that your stomach jumped whenever his violet eyes found your’s in a crowded ball room or the way your mouth watered when he pretended to be cruel to his subjects.
But it was all just lust, nothing more, nothing less.
“Doesn’t she? Her cunt is like a slice of paradise.” Eris agreed.
There was a twinkle in his eyes as he spoke, causing your brow to furrow in curiosity.
“Fuck– your cunt is so tight, darling.” Rhys growled before nipping at your neck harshly, expelling a loud whine from the chambers of your lungs.
The knot in your stomach kept getting tighter and tighter after each stroke of Rhys’ cock, and the way he looked above you, so full of pleasure and absolutely in awe of the female beneath him, made your cunt clench around his thick cock every time you looked up at him. You could feel your orgasm quickly approaching from just his cock, but when he dared to roll his thumb over your perked nipple, you were gone.
Your toes cutrled tightly, as your legs began to shake and your chest heaved, you felt the familiar sensation of a mist coat over your thoughts, making you focus on nothing but the pleasure that Rhysand was generously giving you. Thankfully for you thought, this time you managed to scream out the correct words before even trying to let go yet.
“Please, fuck, please, can I cum?”
Eris let out a low chuckle at your begging; the begging only he got to hear nightly, no matter who fucked you. “Yes, my little slut, cum for me on his cock. Be a good whore and show Rhysand how pretty you look when you cum with your husband’s permission.”
Once your permission was granted, you stopped holding yourself back from climaxing and creamed on the half-illyrian’s cock with shaking legs and a loud scream of his name. Rhysand couldn’t stop himself from finishing inside of you himself, especially after the heavenly sight of the most beautiful female in Prythian crumbling underneath him and the intense but euphoria of the tight clenching of your sopping, wet pussy around his dick. Of course this was fantasy he had thought of plenty of times, but never had he ever expected you to look so fucking devine when he made you climax. It was a sight the he would soon replay in his mind daily, and your’s too when he saw you next, as a reminder of how much you crave his cock, regardless of your hovering mate.
His hot cum soon joined his brother’s in the walls of your dripping core with a roar that shook the bedroom, before he collapsed on your recovering body. His lips upturned as he placed slow openmouthed kisses to your neck and shoulder like a lover would.
Oh, how he dreamed on every star to be your lover.
It was a foolish thought that passed through him daily and ripped him apart from the inside, but it made him happier to imagine how much love he would give you if it were him instead with the string that tied your soul to his, if it were him instead that was granted you each morning in his bed, if it were him instead that you followed order for… if it were instead of that stobby, two-faced, piece of trash that you were fated to.
But the cards were laid out differently, and there was nothing either of you could about it.
Eris leaned down and gave the tip of your nose a kiss, once, twice, before moving his lips down to your own, kissing you deeply as Rhysand caught his breath.
A thought struck him suddenly, one so dangerous to ask but too special to let slip away before you left for good. It would be one hell of an offer, one he was sure you would agree with but knew the autumn court high lord would refuse angerly, not that Rhys was scared, Eris Vanserra had nothing on the king of night. Besides, lovers came to him, not the other way around. How would it look if he asked for you? He would look weak, like he lost his edge…
But you were far more precious than his image to him, that was a risk he was willing to take.
Swallowing his pride, he cleared his throat and let out a low whistle as Eris snarled for him the ‘get off’. Joining his brother on the bed, absolutely dazed out of his mind from your warmth, Rhysand chuckled lowly, causing giggles to leave your lips and make the other two males chuckle themselves. For the first time in years, he felt pure bliss radiate through him and pump joy into his bloodstream, and he decided this was a feeling he wanted to feel forever; with you.
“We need to do this again.”

Just the two of us… 🎶☕️
You work at a coffee shop and once Hamzah notices you, he becomes a regular.
Word count: 2744 (sorry if it's too long)
!hamzah x fem reader.
Part 3/3:
You had spent a few days texting and facetiming just to get to know each other a bit more.
Every new thing Hamzah learned about you, was just another reason why he liked you. It was scary, he was experiencing so many feelings in such a short amount of time. It was the first time someone had swept him off his feet, but you brought him so much peace that focusing on anything other than the way his chest felt everytime he thought about you was pointless. Time was relative.
On Thursday, as you were finishing a long day at work, your phone rang. It was Hamzah. His voice alone was enough to calm you.
"Hey y/n, how was work?" he asked.
"Hi... ugh, it was rough. I'm exhausted, but it was good. I like staying busy, you know? I never run out of things to do."
"Haha, I don't know how you do it, but I'm glad you enjoy your job. You should get some rest though; you'll need it for tomorrow..."
You could hear the smile in his voice, hinting that he had something planned.
"Tomorrow? What's happening tomorrow?"
"...Our big date!! If you're free... Are you free for dinner tomorrow? I found this place I think you'd really like."
Your heart started racing. It was finally happening. Initially, you had doubts, but Hamzah had given you the time and space to get to know him, and you appreciated that. He was patient and understanding, passionate about his job, and struck a perfect balance between fun and serious. Though you hadn't known each other for long, you trusted him enough to say yes.
"Yeah," you said with a big smile—the same one he always complimented you on. You had once confided in him about your insecurity growing up, and he had made it a point to always appreciate it. "Where are we going?"
"Well, you're always talking about jazz, so I asked around and found this 'invitation-only jazz club'... and I managed to get us invites!"
"Oh... Wow! I see being an influencer has its perks. I've always wanted to go to a place like that."
"Haha, I knew you'd like it. Meet you at 7?"
"You know me well. Yeah, text me the address and I'll meet you there."
"Great. See you tomorrow then."
"See ya!"
The date was set.
Saying you were excited was an understatement; you had always dreamed of meeting someone who wasn't afraid to show genuine interest in you, someone who listened and cared deeply about your feelings. It felt surreal. Sometimes, you thought about the "random" ways the universe worked—what were the chances of Hamzah walking into THAT coffee shop on THAT particular day and time? If not for that serendipitous moment, your paths might never have crossed, and your life wouldn't be this nice.
As soon as you got home, you couldn't wait to share the news with Anna, your roommate and best friend. Her eyes lit up with happiness for you. “It’s good seeing you like this y/n, it was time you finally met a nice guy,” You could see it in her eyes, she meant that. “Do you know what you’re wearing yet?. “I have a few ideas” You said.
The excitement was mutual, as soon as you hung up Hamzah texted Martin. “GUESS WHO HAS A DATE TOMORROW!!!!” He had gotten a haircut the day before to make sure it looked nice by Friday, and already had an outfit in mind, he had planned on picking you up with some flowers, him walking up to your door and surprising you with them, giving you a big hug and smelling your perfume. But you told him you’d meet him there instead, so he had to come up with a new plan to fantasize about.
FRIDAY
The time leading to the date seemed like an eternity, work was slower than usual, everything was quiet, except for the incessant ticking of the big clock on the cold, white wall in front of you. Across the room, your coworker in her fifties, mindlessly scrolling on facebook on her phone, the screen glaring brightly as she burst into laughter at every funny post. You and Anna had joked about her contagious, "funnier-than-the-joke" laugh just last night.
Hamzah would text you every once in a while throughout the day, and you’d reply trying not to show your excitement, but you were giggling all day long, your mind kept drifting away from your tasks to the infinite possibilities of what could happen tonight, what he’d wear, how he’d react to what you’d be wearing, would the food be good? Would you guys dance? Or just talk and enjoy the music in the background. You kept trying not to get your hopes too high up, in case anything went wrong, what if he canceled last minute? What if–Stop overthinking- You told yourself, -Let’s find something else to do instead-. Hamzah had awaken a lot of feelings within you, most of them sweet and cheesy, but you had found yourself feeling more self-conscious than usual at times, not because of him. First dates are always nerve wracking.
Finally, the workday came to an end. You packed up your things, said your goodbyes, and headed out to the parking lot. Unlocking your car, you climbed in and took a deep breath. As you turn the engine on, you noticed a weird sound, but chose to ignore it. The drive home was filled with a mix of nervous excitement and cautious optimism.
Arriving at your apartment, you hurried inside. You kicked off your shoes and headed straight for the kitchen, were Anna was already heating up lunch for the two of you, she gets off work earlier than you, and she loves cooking, something you were very grateful for. As you both ate your meals, you checked your phone again—another text from Hamzah.
"Hey, are you getting excited? I can't wait to see you tonight 😊"
You smiled at his message, feeling a rush of warmth. Quickly composing yourself, you replied, "Definitely excited! Looking forward to it 😄"
Anna noticed your distracted state and teased, "Someone's got a big date tonight, huh?"
You chuckled nervously. "Yeah, it's just... I really hope it goes well."
Anna grinned knowingly. "It will. Hamzah seems like a great guy. Relax and enjoy yourself."
Over lunch, you shared the latest updates with Anna, including Hamzah's thoughtful messages throughout the day. After eating, you took an “everything shower” and went to your room to decide on an outfit for the evening.
The rest of the day passed in a blur of multiple outfit changes and fleeting thoughts about the evening ahead. After a few moments of deliberation, you settled on a black backless dress, heels and you hair in a messy but stylish bun.
With a final glance in the mirror, you grabbed your purse and phone, checking for any last-minute messages. There it was—a text from Hamzah.
"Heyy, I'm almost there! Can't wait to see you. I'll be by the entrance."
Your heart skipped a beat as you read his message. Taking a deep breath to calm your nerves, you replied, "On my way! See you soon 😊"
You headed out the door, the cool evening air adding to the anticipation building within you. As you got into you car, you could feel something was off, you tried to turn it on but it wasn’t working –Shit.- You quickly grabbed your phone again and ordered an uber, luckily there was one just a couple blocks away from you.
After a few minutes, you were finally there. You got off the car, spotting Hamzah waiting just as he described, wearing the cutest glasses, your nerves eased. His smile widened as he saw you approaching, and you couldn't help but smile back.
"Hey," he greeted warmly, reaching out to give you a gentle hug. "You look amazing."
"Thank you," you replied, feeling a flush of happiness. "So do you."
“I wanted to get you an actual bouquet,” He says, revealing a red rose he was hiding behind his back. “But I thought it would get in the way when we started dancing. I’ll get you one for next time though.”
“We’re dancing?!” You said with a huuuugeee smile, “God I love your smile-OF COURSE we’re dancing! I didn’t look up ‘How to dance to jazz tutorials’ for nothing”.
“Thanks, really” It’s all you managed to say, staring into his eyes, the night had just started and it was already everything you’d dream of. “Come on, let’s go inside” He said as he wraped his arm around you and led you in.
As you entered the jazz club together, the soft strains of music enveloped you. The ambiance was cozy, with dim lighting casting a warm glow over the intimate tables. Hamzah led you to a table near the stage, where you settled in comfortably. The air was filled with the sweet aroma of good food and the gentle hum of conversations.
The evening unfolded beautifully as you and Hamzah delved into meaningful conversations, sharing stories and discovering mutual interests. You told him about you car breaking down and he offered you a ride back home. He was attentive and sweet, making you feel at ease with his genuine charm and personality.
Dinner arrived—a delicious spread of gourmet dishes that delighted your taste buds. Between bites and sips of wine, laughter bubbled up naturally between you, punctuated by moments of shared glances, soft innocent touches and smiles that spoke volumes.
As the music shifted to a soulful jazz melody, ‘Just the Two of Us’ ;) Hamzah stood up, extending his hand to you with a playful grin. "Care for a dance?"
Your heart skipped a beat at his invitation. You placed your hand in his, feeling the warmth of his touch as he led you to the small dance floor beside the stage. In the soft glow of the club lights, you swayed together to the rhythm of the music, feeling the subtle electricity between you.
For a few blissful moments, the world outside faded away as you immersed yourself in the magic of the night. Hamzah's movements were graceful yet assured, his hand on your waist guiding you across the floor. Your hand in his and your foreheads touching. You couldn't help but admire how his eyes sparkled with genuine happiness, mirroring your own.
As you moved together in sync with the music, the distance between you seemed to dissolve. Each step was a testament to the growing bond between you, a silent promise of more moments like this to come. The rhythm of the jazz, the soft glow of the club lights, and the subtle scent of his cologne enveloped you in a cocoon of intimacy.
In the quiet pauses between songs, he leaned in close, his breath warm against your ear. "You're an amazing dancer," he murmured, his voice filled with admiration.
You smiled, feeling a rush of warmth at his words. "You're not so bad yourself," you teased softly, the playful banter adding to the lightness of the occasion.
As the music continued, you found yourself lost in the dance, savoring each fleeting second as if trying to capture the essence of this perfect evening. The world outside seemed distant and insignificant compared to the connection you shared in that moment.
Eventually, the song ended, as you returned to your table, hand in hand, the evening continued with a renewed sense of closeness and connection. The jazz club buzzed with life around you, yet it felt like the two of you were in your own little world, cocooned in the warmth of newfound companionship.
As the night came to an end, and the jazz club began to empty, y/n and Hamzah stepped out into the crisp night air, their breath visible in the glow of city lights. The date had been enchanting, filled with laughter, shared stories, and a dance that seemed to suspend time itself.
As they walked towards Hamzah's car, y/n's thoughts flickered back to the Uber ride that had brought her here. She had enjoyed the evening and was grateful for Hamzah's company. The offer of a ride home from him now felt like a continuation of his thoughtfulness.
Reaching the car, Hamzah unlocked the door and held it open for y/n with a gallant gesture. She smiled appreciatively, settling into the passenger seat. The warmth of the car enveloped them both as Hamzah started the engine, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between them.
"I hope you enjoyed tonight," Hamzah said, glancing over at y/n with a gentle smile.
"I did," y/n replied softly, her gaze meeting his. "Thank you for inviting me and for the ride home."
"My pleasure," Hamzah replied warmly, his eyes reflecting the streetlights as they drove through the quiet night. "I'm glad we had this time together."
As they navigated through the familiar streets towards y/n's apartment, conversation flowed between them. They discussed their favorite jazz tunes from the night, shared funny anecdotes, and delved into deeper topics that revealed more about their passions and dreams.
The drive seemed to pass in a blur, the connection between y/n and Hamzah growing stronger with each passing minute. By the time they arrived at y/n's apartment building, she couldn't help but feel a sense of reluctance to say goodbye.
"Here we are," he said softly, pulling up to the curb outside y/n's building. He turned off the engine and turned to face her, his expression earnest. Hamzah hesitated for a moment, stepping out, he hurried around to y/n's side and opened the door for her, offering his hand to help her out. She accepted, feeling a flutter of warmth at his gesture.
"Thank you," y/n said softly as she stood beside him, their eyes meeting in the dim glow of the streetlights.
"You're welcome," Hamzah replied, his voice gentle. "Let me walk you to your door."
Together, they walked towards the entrance of the apartment building, the night air cool around them. The silence between them now felt comfortable, filled with a shared understanding and the promise of more to come.
As they reached y/n's door, she turned to face Hamzah with a smile. Him looking at her as if contemplating his next words. "Thank you again for tonight. I really enjoyed your company."
"Me too," y/n replied sincerely, moving closer to him, a warm smile gracing her lips. "I had a great time."
"Would you like to do this again sometime?” He said, his hand gracing hers.
Y/n felt a rush of excitement at his suggestion. "I would love that," she answered.
"Great," Hamzah said with a smile, relief evident in his voice.
Their closeness drew them together naturally, and suddenly, y/n found herself wrapped in Hamzah's embrace. Her arms were around his neck, fingers gently caressing the curls at the back of his head. His arms encircled her waist, drawing her in as she rested her head against his chest. The intimacy of the moment enveloped them both, a silent acknowledgment of the connection they had forged over the course of the evening.
“Y/n?” Hamzah murmured softly.
“Yeah?” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Can I kiss you?”
Their hearts raced in unison, the anticipation palpable between them. Y/n lifted her head, meeting Hamzah's gaze with unwavering certainty. Their noses brushed against each other's, their breath mingling in the quiet space between them. And then, without hesitation, Hamzah closed the distance between them, his lips meeting hers in a tender kiss.
Time seemed to stand still as they shared this intimate moment, the world outside fading away. The kiss was gentle yet filled with passion, a culmination of the emotions they had both been feeling throughout the night.
As they pulled back slightly, their foreheads resting together, y/n couldn't help but smile. It felt right, being in Hamzah's arms, their hearts beating as one.
Hamzah brushed a strand of hair away from y/n's face, his touch tender. “I'm glad I met you, y/n.”
"Me too," y/n replied softly, her fingers tracing the line of Hamzah's jaw. "I'm really glad."
They stood there for a moment longer, savoring the closeness and the newfound connection between them. In that quiet moment, they both knew that tonight had been more than just a date—it had been the beginning of something beautiful.
Thank you for reading!! This was so much fun.

Tumblr media
Sam rolled his eyes as he watched his brother leave with some bottle blonde. “Whatever.” He mumbled. Shaking his head, he downed the rest of his beer.
You were on the way back from the bathroom when you saw his face. Sam was the brother you had a thing for, not that you’d ever say anything. He had the body of perfection. You? Not so much. Once you reached the table, you smiled at him. “Come on.”
“What?” He glanced up at you.
“I say we go home and break out the board games.” You had some under your bed that never got used. Between hunting, and Dean…they collected dust.
That dimpled grin made it’s appearance before he got up. Sam loved spending time with you, it didn’t matter what the pair of you were doing. You’d been hunting with the boys a couple years now, and sometime along the way, he’d fallen for you.
And kept his mouth shut.
He figured it was safer that way, and he didn’t think you were interested in him. So, he suffered in silence, taking your friendship and being happy with just that.
Tumblr media
“Go get snacks, Sammy. I’ll get the games.” You smiled up at him before turning towards the hall.
He watched you with longing for a moment before letting out a soft sigh and heading towards the kitchen. He knew all your favorite snacks, and figured he’d grab those first.snacks, and figured he’d grab those first.
Tumblr media
“Dude!” You groaned. “Again?!” You didn’t understand how every time you played Monopoly, Sam got the best properties. You didn’t land on them once until he’d bought them.
He laughed, causing you to push him lightly. “You might as well just give me all your money now, Y/N/N.” He held out his hand.
Glaring at him playfully, you stuck your tongue out at him. “Nope. Not happening. One of these days I will be victorious!”
That made him laugh even harder. “We’ve played this how many times in two years and you have yet to beat me?”
“Shut up, Sammy.”
Tumblr media
After he slaughtered you in Monopoly, you grabbed Clue. “Harry Potter edition!” You grinned.
“You want to play Clue with a hunter?” He smirked.
“I’m a hunter, too!” You pointed out as you set it out on the table. “And…it’s Harry Potter. Shush.” You were looking down as you pulled everything out, so you didn’t see the look he gave you. He loved how excited you got over things like this, and how your face lit up. “Who do you want to be?” You asked, looking up with a smile.
He shrugged. “I’ll be Ron.”
“I’ll be Luna.”
“I think you’re more of a Hermione.”
You blushed, handing out the house point tokens. “This is supposed to be played with more than two people, so we can always fudge the rules a bit.”
Tumblr media
By the time you made it through Clue, and Sorry!, you were both somewhat sore from sitting. “Hey, I didn’t know you had Twister.” He grinned, grabbing it out of your box of games.
You shook your head and blushed. “That’s, uh, because I don’t play it.”
“I can tell. It’s still in it’s plastic.” He pointed out. “Why don’t we give it a shot?”
“No, it’s getting late, Sammy.” You lied.
He moved a bit closer. “I’d like to get tangled up with you, though.”
You stared at him, not sure what was going on with him. People didn’t look at you like…that. “Uh, what?” You asked.
“I’d like to play Twister with you, get tangled up with you, and see if maybe we can move on to other types of…‘Twister’ after.”
By now, your face felt like it was on fire. Literally. It was burning up. You shook your head. “No, Sammy. I-” Tears welled in your eyes. “I’m not the type of girl that guys fawn over, lust after, or fall in love with.” Grabbing your games, you started to pack up, Sam staring at you in shock. “It’s okay, Sam. I know that you’re just annoyed that Dean left with that bar skank.”
That did it for Sam. He took the box from your hands and made you face him. His hands cupped your face as he kissed you deeply. Your hands gripped his hips. “I love you, Y/N.” His breath hit your face. “I’ve loved you for a long time.”
“Sam, I’m not someone who’s lovable.” You told him quietly.
“Let me prove you wrong.” His hazel eyes locked with yours. “In any way I can. In every way I can.” You blinked, causing a tear to fall. Without hesitating, he gently licked up the tear. “Let me make love to you, let me make you breakfast in bed, make your coffee just the way you like it, make you mad when I leave a wet towel somewhere. Let me prove it.”
Something in you made you nod. Made you want to let him try. If anyone made you feel safe, it was Sam. “Okay.” You told him with a small smile.
Grinning, his hands slowly moved down your body to your thighs, surprising you when he was able to lift you, causing you to squeal slightly. “My room, or yours?” He chuckled.
Your arms were around his neck as he held you up. “Yours.”
Tumblr media
Sam had placed you gently on his bed, his lips brushing down your neck. His hands pushed up your shirt, your bodies moving apart just long enough for him to pull it off of you. He rolled his hips as he laid between your legs. You felt the obvious bulge in his jeans. “That’s all for you, baby girl.” He groaned in your ear.
Your hands pulled his shirt up, feeling the tiniest bit brave at the moment. He grinned when his bare skin touched yours. Reaching behind you, he unhooked your bra, and you knew that was from practice. It joined your shirt elsewhere in his room, forgotten.
He moved down your body, worshiping your breasts. His tongue flicked against your nipples, making you whimper. Watching your face, he smirked when he sucked on one side, and then the other. “I can’t wait to hear you.”
Biting your lip, you watched as he kissed down your stomach, not the least bit bothered. You were chubby, you knew that. It was why you didn’t view yourself as lovable. You were nervous, but trying to push that down. His hands undid your jeans and pulled them down, taking your underwear with them.
“Sammy…” You breathed as he moved to lay between your legs.
He grinned at you. “I got you, baby girl.”
Before he let you reply, his face was buried between your legs. His tongue was moving against your clit, his hands gripping your thighs. Having someone go down on you wasn’t something you’d ever been a fan of. Until now. Sam growled against your soaking pussy, devouring you. You gripped his hair, your hips rolling slightly. Feeling him suck on your clit, you cried out for him. Your legs were shaking as he slowed down.
He crawled up your body, his eyes meeting yours. “Make love to me, Sammy.” You breathed.
“Anytime.” He smirked, getting out of bed long enough to strip the rest of the way.
His erection sprang free from the confines of his clothes and you inhaled. Even his cock was perfect. How was that even possible?
Sam settled between your legs, smiling down at you. “Are you sure?” He asked you gently.
Cupping his face with your hands, you pulled him in for a loving kiss. “I’m sure, Sammy.” You grinned.
His lips moved against yours as he rolled his hips forward. You moaned into his mouth, your hands moving to grip his shoulders. As he rocked his hips, his lips moved to your neck. His touches were feather light almost, but held such love. His hand moved down your side to grip your ass, his thrusts becoming harder. “God, you feel so good.” He groaned, his forehead on your shoulder.
“Sammy!” You gasped as he changed the angle.
Moving to look at you, his eyes locked with yours. “I love you.”
It seemed to click for you more than ever that Sam fucking Winchester loved you. “I love you, too.” You breathed, smiling at him.
His face lit up before his lips captured yours. His hand went from your ass to grip the top of his headboard. “Sam!” You cried out as he slammed into you, his groans making you throb. “Fuck!” Clenching around him, your fingers dug into his skin.
He growled against you, close to cumming himself. Finally, he thrust into you one last time, moving to hold you tight. He chuckled as he buried his face in your neck.
“What?” You asked, still smiling.
“Who thought playing board games could lead to me finally telling you how I feel? Let alone fucking you?”

Gifts (Douma x F!Reader)
Tumblr media
“(Name)!”
The whiny voice of her lover resonated in the air as he kept looking for her. Douma missed (Name). He really did. The fact that he was unable to find her right away only added fuel to his complaints. He was already pouting when he finally saw her figure in the distance. The second Upper Moon didn’t waste a second, quickly getting closer. Embracing her petite form from behind.
“My friends are so cold to me, (Name). So mean.”
Douma buried his face in her neck as he complained, seeking comfort in her embrace. It was not the first time he told her about how he was unable to successfully bond with his fellow Upper Moons. (Name) tried to console him to the best of her ability, giving him a mixture of head pats and kisses.
The Upper Moon Two leaned in, his face now changing to one of pure happiness. (Name) was the only one who could make his empty heart feel anything. And he loved her for it.
Douma melted at her touch, humming in satisfaction as she kept going. Being cared for felt amazing. (Name) was the first person who actually listened to him with interest and care. It didn’t matter what the topic was about; she was always there. By his side. And most importantly, she never asked him for anything in return. (Name) didn’t want paradise, power, or status. She only wanted Douma to be happy, which made him fall in love with her fairly quickly. After all, most of the people around him cared about what he could give them. Nothing more.
“Do you want to cuddle?” (Name) asked, interrupting the demon’s thoughts. Her fingers slid through Douma’s soft platinum locks, making him let out another happy noise.
He nodded, interlocking his hand with her as they walked towards their bedroom. His mood was lifted once again. All thanks to her. Once they were there, he waited until (Name) sat on his big, soft, purple cushion. As soon as she finished sitting down, he buried his face in her lap, his arms wrapping around her waist.
(Name) wrapped his arms around him too, her fingers doing small circles around his shoulders. Douma was extremely big on physical displays of affection. So for the Upper Moon Two, the fact that she allowed him to do so and even reciprocated was blissful.
As they kept spending time together, (Name) got an idea. It would help Douma, and plus, it would be something nice to do for him. To show him how much he meant to her. A token of her appreciation and affection for the Upper Moon Two.
“Perhaps we can make some gifts for the rest of the Upper Moons? That way, you can make better bonds with them."
Douma blinked for a few seconds, surprised at her offer. (Name) was willing to help him. That fact alone made his love for her grow stronger. She was everything he could ever wish for. Beautiful. Kind. Caring. His eyes lit up as he mentally kept thinking about everything he loved about her. Even if the list was long, Douma was able to pinpoint everything. He got up to look at her, excitement visible in his eyes.
“You would do that for me?”
——————————————————————————
(Name) helped Douma prepare gifts for each of the Upper Moons. She listened to the information the Upper Moon Two was able to give her, taking it into consideration as she chose the gifts. (Name) had to stop Douma from packing some... unsettling gifts. As much as the second Upper Moon insisted it was healthy for demons, she recommended him not do so. After all, (Name) doubted that even the demons wanted to receive those kinds of gifts. Douma tried to convince her, but he listened to reason in the end.
Once they had bought them, she started wrapping the items. The Upper Moon Two kept moving around her, looking at her with a pure and innocent face as she wrapped the gifts. Honestly, Douma was blown away when he saw what (Name) had chosen for each of the Upper Moons. Not only did the gifts match the personalities of his comrades perfectly, but they were being cutely wrapped too. Each one with a different type of bow and paper, matching their tastes.
Douma loved how (Name) had helped him. He really did. Still, he felt an unpleasant feeling in his chest as he thought of his fellow Upper Moons receiving a gift from his girlfriend. No one had ever gifted anything material. Not even (Name). He put his feelings aside, focusing on the positive.
“They will love them. Thank you so much, (Name)!”
(Name) had worked so hard. For him. For his sake. He shouldn’t be feeling like that. (Name) truly cared about him. Douma knew that. So he would put his gentle facade in front of her, even if that unknown feeling kept burning his chest.
(Name) finished putting the last bow on, leaving the present to the side with the others. She took a box from her pocket, looking at Douma with a soft expression. The box was small, wrapped with platinum paper. In the front, a paper lotus (Name) had made.
“I didn’t forget about you.”
The fact that his first gift came from (Name) made it even more special to him. Douma dropped his facade, his face showing a genuine smile. The way his eyes glinted with the excitement of a child made him even cuter. (Name) giggled, as she watched him unwrap the gift. Soon after, a small sculpture of a lotus flower made of crystal rested on his hand. The reflection of the candles near them, made the light hit the object. Rainbow light reflecting around the room due to it.
The demon studied it, placing the lotus sculpture near him. His smile widened as he continued to see his first present. When he finally left it on the table, Douma was quick to show his appreciation. His lips pressed against hers, resting his hands on her waist as he did so. Their lips lingered for a while, before he pulled away.
“I love it. Thank you, dear!”
It was the perfect gift. A gift made only for him. And most importantly, a gift that came from (Name).

⏱︎ Time gained ⏱︎
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part one: Time Wasted
Paring: fem! Reader x fwb! Beomgyu
Genre: angst (slightly hopeful)
Summary: After a painful realization, you decided to reclaim your life from an unrequited love but a confrontation might bring you back to his world.
Wc: 1k
Tumblr media
After that day, you had a reality check. You knew you needed to do better for yourself. You had let yourself become so consumed by Beomgyu's whims that you let yourself go.
All your thoughts were on him. All your focus, attention, and love were placed on a guy who never even loved you back. You continuously told yourself you were okay with this and that it was the only way to make him fall in love with you, but you were so wrong. His words made you feel ashamed, realizing how far things had gone.
Over the next few months, you slowly picked yourself back up. You began to see what you had been missing out on by being so wrapped around Beomgyu's finger. You started going out to parties again, spending more time with friends, rediscovering old interests that once filled your time, and even flirting with guys who caught your interest.
You were truly happy again, and thoughts of Beomgyu slowly faded from your mind. However, they never really left. How could they? You still didn't have the heart to block his number, so whenever he was under the influence, he reached out to you hoping you'd text back so he could get you back into his bed. When he sobered up, he'd quickly unsend the messages and pretend like nothing happened. It was a relentless cycle.
It was hard to admit, but your face still lit up whenever he texted, hoping for an apology or a "can we start over" — something that would satisfy that old feeling of needing his love. But it never came, so eventually, you found yourself muting him instead of blocking.
One night, you were getting ready to go out with friends because your friend Sooyoung was throwing a rager at her place. You felt excited about the night ahead. You had on your favorite party dress, done your hair and makeup, and were just about to head out the door when your phone buzzed. You glanced down to see Beomgyu's name lighting up the screen. A part of you wanted to ignore it, but old habits die hard. With a sigh, you answered the call.
"Hey," you said cautiously, trying to keep your tone neutral.
There was a pause before you heard a familiar voice, but it wasn't Beomgyu's. It was his friend, Soobin. "Hey, we know you two aren't together anymore, but can you come pick Beomgyu up? He's piss drunk and causing a scene. We dumped him in one of the rooms at Sooyoung's party, but we're gonna go party hop and we aren't taking him."
"Look, I don't—" you started to say, but the line clicked dead.
You sighed. Of course, you had to go to the party where you were supposed to have fun, just to pick up Beomgyu after he'd left you broken. You thought about leaving him alone, but the thought of him hurting himself or getting alcohol poisoning had you rushing to the party immediately.
When you arrived, your friends tried to wave you over, but you just smiled and hurried to the bedroom where you found Beomgyu, slumped against the floor with his back against the bed. His eyes were glassy, and he barely registered your presence until you were right in front of him.
"Y/N..." he slurred, a lazy smile spreading across his face. "You came."
"What the fuck, Beomgyu? You're smart enough to know your limit. Why the fuck are you so drunk?" you yelled at him. He just chuckled—that heart-stopping, sexy chuckle.
"You stopped answering me. I needed a drink," he shrugged, closing his eyes and tilting his head back against the bed frame.
"You were the one who told me to get lost! You were the one who said I was pathetic and needed to get over you," you yelled, tears forming in your eyes.
"You kept letting me disappoint you over and over. I'm a pretty selfish guy, but seeing you like that was just sad," he mumbled, your yelling sobering him up quickly.
Your heart clenched at his words. A strange mix of anger and pity washed over you. You took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself.
"You think this is better?" you asked, your voice trembling. "You think seeing you like this makes it easier?"
Beomgyu looked up at you. "I don't know what to do, Y/N. I don't know what to do with myself when you're not here."
You looked at him, stunned. You knew you shouldn't let his words get to you. You knew he would probably take it all back when he was sober. But no matter how much self-love or how many distractions you found, Beomgyu would always be on your mind.
"Beomgyu," you began, trying to steady your voice, "you can't keep doing this. You can't keep using me as a crutch when you're feeling lost. I can't handle it anymore. I love you," you confess.
Beomgyu takes a deep breath. "I know you do."
He couldn't say it back. Even after all this time, he just doesn't love you, and nothing you do or say will ever change his mind. You slide down next to him. "Gyu, why did you ask me out?"
He looks a bit taken aback. You've never asked him this question in your whole complex relationship. He stammers a bit but finally says, "I don't know. You just looked like a hot angel whenever I saw you."
"Did you ever think you loved me?" you ask, wiping a tear that slid down your face.
Beomgyu sighs, running a hand through his hair, the stress of this conversation taking its toll. "Yes, I did," he replies, turning to look at you lazily. "But then I thought, how could I actually love you if I treat you like any other piece of ass?"
His words hit you like a punch to the gut, leaving you breathless. You struggle to find the right words, your voice trembling. "So, what was I to you then? Just a distraction?"
Beomgyu's eyes soften for a moment, and he looks away, unable to meet your gaze. "I don't know," he admits quietly. "I guess I was just afraid of what it meant to really care about someone." You take a deep breath, trying to steady your emotions. "Afraid? Beomgyu, I gave you everything. I was vulnerable with you."
He clenches his jaw, frustration evident in his eyes. "And I took advantage of that. I know. But it's not because I didn't care. It's because I didn't know how to care the right way."
Silence hangs heavy between you, the weight of his words admitting that he cared and could have loved you feeling suffocating. Finally, you speak, your voice barely above a whisper. "Maybe it's too late for us, then."
Beomgyu's shoulders slump, defeat washing over him. "It always was, but I still need you in my life," he says, gesturing to his drunken form.
"Friends, then?" You turn to fully face him, extending your hand.
"With benefits," Beomgyu jokes. You punch him lightly in the arm, scoffing.
"Fine, fine. We can try friends," he chuckles.

Blackout
Penelope Garcia x Reader
Summary: During a city blackout, a frustrated internet outage leads to an unexpected visit from Penelope Garcia, your tech-savvy neighbour.
Word Count: 1k
The city was plunged into darkness, the only glow coming from the lights of emergency generators and the distant stars in the night sky. You sighed in frustration as they stared at their unresponsive laptop. The internet had gone down, and it seemed like nothing could fix it. After futile attempts to revive their device, you decided to call the internet service provider, hoping for a quick solution.
As you were stuck on hold, the frustration grew. That's when a knock on the door interrupted the monotonous hold music. Opening it, you found Penelope standing in the hallway, looking both worried and excited.
"Hey! I heard you were having internet trouble too. Mind if I come in? Maybe we can figure this out together," Penelope said, already slipping past you and into the apartment.
You couldn't help but smile at Penelope's boldness. "Sure, come on in. I've been on hold with the company forever. Maybe you'll have better luck getting through."
As Penelope entered, she took a quick glance around the dimly lit apartment. "Nice place you've got here. A bit lonely without the internet, though."
You chuckled, "Tell me about it. I was in the middle of something important when everything crashed.
With Penelope's help, they attempted to troubleshoot the internet issue, but it soon became evident that the problem was beyond their control. Penelope, however, seemed unusually nervous, avoiding eye contact and fidgeting with her phone.
"Is everything okay?" You asked, sensing that something was off.
Penelope took a deep breath and confessed, "Okay, so, this might be my fault. I was working on a little project, and I may have accidentally caused a minor blackout in the neighbourhood."
Your eyes widened in surprise. "You caused this blackout?"
Penelope nodded sheepishly. "Yeah, I was experimenting with some tech stuff, and things got a bit out of hand. I'm really sorry."
You couldn't help but chuckle at the unexpected turn of events. "Well, it's certainly one way to meet the neighbours."
As you and Penelope sat in the dimly lit apartment, the conversation between you flowed effortlessly. You shared stories and laughter and discovered common interests that made the blackout seem like a stroke of luck rather than an inconvenience. The initial awkwardness dissolved, replaced by a genuine connection that neither of them expected.
Penelope couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and comfort in your company. She had liked you from afar for quite some time, and now, fate had brought them together in the most unexpected way. You, too, found Penelope's quirky charm and enthusiasm contagious, making the blackout feel more like an opportunity for connection than a technological disaster.
As they continued talking, Penelope couldn't shake off the nervous energy that had been building up inside her. She glanced at you, wondering if now was the right time to express what she had been contemplating.
"You know," Penelope started, her voice a mix of playfulness and sincerity, "despite the chaos and the darkness, spending time with you has been the highlight of this blackout. It's like the universe decided to play matchmaker tonight."
You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through them. "I have to agree. Who would've thought a power outage would lead to such an interesting evening?"
Penelope chuckled, her eyes meeting yours. "Well, sometimes the best connections happen when you least expect them. And speaking of connections," she paused, taking a deep breath, "I was wondering if maybe, once the power is back and everything is back to normal, you'd want to go out on a date with me?"
Your heart skipped a beat at the unexpected but welcomed proposition. "I'd love that," you replied, unable to hide the excitement in their voice.
Penelope grinned, a mix of relief and happiness evident in her expression. "Great! I promise the next time we meet, it won't involve accidental blackouts. How about we make it dinner? Just the two of us."
You nodded, feeling a surge of anticipation. "Sounds perfect. I can't wait."
As Penelope got up to leave, she turned to you with a playful glint in her eyes. "It's a date then. And who knows, maybe we'll have a good laugh about this blackout when we look back on it."
You walked her to the door, and with a warm smile, Penelope said, "Until then, stay out of tech experiments gone wrong, okay?"
You chuckled, "Deal. Looking forward to our date, Penelope."
And with that, Penelope walked out into the dark hallway, leaving you with a sense of excitement and anticipation for the unexpected but promising connection that had formed during a blackout.

The Most Metal Sandcastle
A/N: @oneforthemunny Alright admittedly, this one got away from me, but it had to be done the writing goblin demanded it!
⛱️- "wanna build a sandcastle?" - building a sandcastle on the beach with any Eddie. do it with the kids, on a honeymoon, on a solo vacation.
Janitor!Eddie x Teacher!Reader
Shortly after Olivia turned 2 you and Ollie had been in the kitchen when he asked about it, “Momma”, you hummed in response while you were slicing strawberries for his afternoon snack since Olivia was napping, “why haven’t we ever gone to the beach?” as you finished the last strawberry and put it in his favorite bowl you looked at him, surprised. Ollie had never mentioned the beach or expressed any interest in the possibility of it so you hadn’t put much thought into it; thinking he wasn’t interested. It hadn’t really occurred to you that he may have never gone, but the fact that it made sense which broke your heart.
“I guess dad and I never really thought about it lovebug, is that something you want to do?” you asked as you led him to the table so he could eat his berries and yogurt.
He often got bashful when asking for things that he wanted, still not entirely used to the fact that he could ask for things, but when his eyes lit up he exclaimed “YES!” it melted your heart. Knowing that he was getting more comfortable asking for things little by little. Then he launched into the reason he was so excited, “My friends told me all about their trip last weekend, they said it was so fun momma! They said they’d seen fishies that looked like stars; just like the ones daddy put up in my room!!”
You’re smiling so much your cheeks are starting to hurt, since summer was nearly over and you’d done all the things you’d planned; this was the perfect way to end it; a trip with your little family. “Okay lovebug, when daddy gets home I’ll talk to him and we’ll plan it.” he beamed at you then went back to his snack, you smiled, kissing his head as you made your way to Olivia as she had woken up and started cooing; undoubtedly ready to play with her big brother again. It made you so happy that they were so close, you were afraid that Ollie wouldn’t like having a younger sibling or wouldn’t see them as such since they weren’t biologically related. You were happily proven wrong, when Olivia started crawling and exploring, Ollie was right there helping her explore and teaching her things that he’d learned. As he finished his snack you brought Olivia to the living room for her to play, he happily jumped down, put his bowl in the sink, and ran over to his sister excitedly telling her all about the beach and your plans; which have yet to be hashed out, to her. His excitement was contagious as she got giddy just from his retelling to her.
You cleaned up what little there was to do in the kitchen while your babies played in the living room, as you finished your husband walks through the door, having come back from the Harington’s to help Steve with a handyman project.
“Daddy!!”, he shouted as both of them ran to tackle your lanky metalhead husband. Their combined giggles warming your heart.
“Hey guys! What are you up to?”
“We’re going to the beach!!” they shouted right in Eddie's face, well Ollie shouted while Olivia babbled slightly she’s still learning to use her words but she’s getting there, making him chuckle as he looks at you, raising an eyebrow. You give him a little nod smiling that says you’d tell him later, after his precious time with them before bed. Since he’d been helping Steve after work, he didn’t get that much time with them today so while you prepared dinner; you’d let them play.
After dinner, baths, and story time the kids were finally down for the night; exhausted from their excitement. “So what’s this about the beach?” Eddie slipped his arms around your waist as you finished putting the last of the leftovers in the fridge, you felt his smile as he pressed a kiss to your shoulder; making you lean into him as you shut the door.
“Well,” you started, turning in his arms to wrap yours around the back of his neck, giving him a soft peck on the lips, “Ollie asked why we hadn’t gone to the beach and he told me about his friends showing him pictures and telling him all about their adventures.” you paused, looking into his eyes, “He’s so excited so I figured since we’ve already done all our other plans, we could whip up an impromptu beach trip. What do you think?”
He hummed for a minute, thinking back to your first beach trip and how much fun the two of you had; it brought a smile to his face. “I think that’s a great idea sweetheart.” you beamed at him and kissed him again. “I can get off early one day and we can make an entire day out of it!”
The excitement bubbling up in him was so palpable that it made your heart soar, happy that you’d be able to do this with your little family.
You both decided to try and go during the week so it wouldn’t be too crowded, while Eddie was off at work one day, you’d set out to the store. You dropped the kids off at Steve’s so he could watch them for a few hours while you got the things for the trip ready. You wanted to surprise them with some new beach toys, new bathing suits, and new floaties. You’d been able to hide away your new purchases when you came to collect your troublemakers; something Steve liked to call them since they’ve got him wrapped around their fingers. He smiled as he answered the door.
You’d gotten them situated in the car which then gave you a few minutes to talk with Steve, “So they told me about your beach trip, they’re so excited it's so precious.” he said fondly, “So I was thinking”,
“Uh-oh.” you playfully interjected, earning you a playful shove.
“Why don’t you use our beach house? You’ll have privacy, your own little access to the beach, and they’ll get to have a great first experience.”
You looked at Steve with a dumbfounded expression, having not expected such a generous offer, “That would be amazing Steve, you have to let us give you something for let-”
He cut you off with a hand, “Nope, you’re family and I love you guys so you’re gonna use the beach house with no expectation for anything in return. Plus you both have watched my brood more than once at the drop of a hat, I think that’s payment enough.” he joked, which caused you to laugh. His kids were so sweet and well behaved, it honestly wasn’t ever an issue. It was an added bonus that your kids hit it off so well and became fast friends; they were inseparable. You pulled Steve into a hug and thanked him profusely and he’d given you the spare keys to his vacation home; something you kept as an added surprise for the kids, but were chomping at the bit to tell Eddie about.
After dinner and getting them down for bed, you’d told Eddie about Steve’s kind gesture which Eddie then called Steve to also thank him profusely. Your plans changed slightly, but you were so excited now that you’d be able to make a whole weekend out of this beach trip to make it so special for your little boy.
The day finally arrived, Eddie had gone in early that day to finish the todo list he’d gathered from the staff that were there so that he could have all of it done and they wouldn’t have to wait until he returned. He came home almost more excited than the kids. Luckily they were easy to get up and ready for the day and you’d gone through the day before and discreetly packed a bag for everyone so that the little getaway stayed a surprise for the kids. While they finished lunch, Eddie packed anything that was left to pack into the minivan; that he was soooo opposed to at first, arguing that his van was perfectly fine. Luckily, Wayne stepped in and talked some sense into the boy. “Son, I know your van is reliable and she’s been through a lot with you, but it ain’t got no seats for the kids!” sure he’d pouted at first, but it definitely grew on him.
You all piled into the van and started the hour and a half long drive to the beach. Since you had the whole weekend, you took your time; stopping at roadside attractions, taking silly pictures, and just in general making memories. The kids finally fell asleep about 30 minutes away from the beach house, the best case scenario so you can make sure they’re properly surprised by the large beach house Steve had lent you all.
Quietly and as gently as possible Eddie unloaded everything into the house without waking Ollie or Olivia. Finally, you were able to gently wake them up, stroking Ollie's hair as he stirred awake; he looked out the window and his eyes grew 2 sizes looking at the grand house.
“Where are we momma?”
“Uncle Steve let us use his vacation house so we can stay the whole weekend!” you excitedly told him as his whole face lit up and he squirmed excitedly to get out of his booster seat.
As he sees that Olivia has woken up too, he excitedly shouts to her, “Uncle Steve has a big house on the beach and we get to stay here this weekend!” laughing you let them out of the car and let Eddie usher them in, matching their excitement. You smile watching your family get pumped over being able to be in paradise for the weekend. While they’re doing that you load up the wagon with the things from the car so you don’t have to stop their exploration of the sizable house. When Eddie sees you bring it over the threshold he gives you a guilty smile, which you return with a megawatt smile silently letting him know it’s okay; you’d rather them start making memories than have to wait.
The kids exhausted themselves running around the house exploring while you and Eddie unpacked your belongings, as much as you wanted to at least, when they came to you winding down from their surprise and hungry you’d ordered pizza. After you ate dinner and got them ready for bed, when you were done tucking Olivia in and letting Eddie read to her, Ollie came up to you and tugged gently on your night shirt.
“Hey lovebug, you okay?” you asked slightly worried by the expression on his face.
He nodded bashfully and asked quietly, “Can we call Uncle Steve so I can say thank you?”
Your worries melted away and your heart warmed with the question; you found it so endearing that he wanted to make sure that Steve also knew how thankful they were, “Of course baby, but let’s call him in the morning so sissy can say thank you too okay?”
He smiled at you and took your hand as you walked to his room and tucked him in, giving him a kiss goodnight on the forehead and rubbing his back gently he drifted slowly to sleep. When you were sure he was asleep you got up trying not to make too much movement and went to the room you and Eddie would be sharing to see the sweetest sight. Your beautiful husband, in his sleep pants, sprawled on the bed already snoring lightly. “Seems like the kids aren’t the only ones that tuckered themselves out by exploring.” you thought fondly. You slipped into bed beside Eddie and wiggled into his hold, as he felt you he shifted slightly and wrapped his arms around your middle pulling you snugly against his chest then you drifted to sleep with a soft smile on your face.
The sounds of feet running down the hall with excitement stirred you from your sleep, you knew exactly what was about to happen and decided to brace you and your sleeping metalhead. You gently put a few pillows over his crown jewels, anticipating both your overly excited children to launch themselves onto the bed; and launch themselves they did. You’d put the pillow there just in time as Olivia hit the mark; Eddie groaned but thankfully it wasn’t as bad as it would have been with absolutely no protection. He looked at you with gratitude before diving in and tickling both the kids. Happy squeals filled the room as they squirmed out of the bed and away from Eddie’s tickling, “Get back here, the tickle monster is still hungry!!” he shouted as he got up and chased after them. You laughed as you also got up and headed down to start breakfast.
After breakfast was eaten, you all got ready for the kids’ first ever visit to the beach. You were so beyond grateful to Steve that he let you guys use the house, the private access to the beach is going to make their first experience so incredible.
When all the sunscreen was applied, much to Eddie’s dismay, you stopped before you left asking the kids, “You wanna call Uncle Steve before we head out there?” they both excitedly nodded. When you got him on the phone they both excitedly chattered to him and thanked him. He laughed and told them that he was happy to be able to do it and that he hopes they have so much fun.
Once you hung up with Steve, you finally made it outside. The weather wasn’t as hot as you thought it would be, the view was beautiful as well and you couldn’t resist taking out one of the many, upon Eddie’s insistence, disposable cameras to snap a few pictures. While you were in the midst of getting those pictures you couldn’t help yourself and got a few candid ones of the kids and Eddie.
Ollie walked up to Eddie, who was in the process of filling one of the buckets with sand; you’d taken Olivia on a walk along the shore so she could pick up as many seashells as her little heart desired.
“What are you doing dad?” he’d asked, looking at him puzzled.
Eddie smiled and explained that he was making a sandcastle, “When grandpa Wayne brought me here shortly after I came to live with him, we made the biggest sandcastle ever!” he recounted fondly, as you and Olivia walked back over you smiled as he told Ollie and got him hyped up as they began to construct the “most metal sandcastle the Harrington beach manor will ever see!” as Eddie put it. Olivia meandered over to help and they accepted her help with excitement; you’d been off to the side taking so many pictures of your family’s smiling faces when an older couple stopped to view the construction fondly.
“How sweet, is this their first trip here?” the older of the two men asked, smiling at the excited giggles you could hear.
You returned his fond smile, “Yeah, our little boy was so excited so we wanted to make sure his first experience was amazing.”
The younger man spoke, “You know, we’re photographers. Would you want us to come and get some pictures of all of you? That way you have your entire family in there?”
“Oh I don’t think we’d be able to afford something like that, but I really appreciate the offer.” you smiled back, misunderstanding him.
He laughed lightly, “Honey no, we were offering to do it. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on having pictures with them.”
Your eyes sparkled, “Are you sure?”
They both shared a look and smiled nodding to you, “Why don’t you go have fun, give us whatever cameras you have and let us do what we do best.”
With that you were off, ready to offer your contributions to the ‘most metal sandcastle’. You filled Eddie in shortly so he wouldn’t be worried by random men taking pictures of your family. He smiled and waved excitedly to them as they laughed and waved back with just as much excitement. Turns out, those men happened to be Steve’s uncles who normally watch the beach house for him while they’re not using it; he’d told them about you all coming to stay so they wouldn’t think you were intruders and call the police. After they’d used at least 3 of the 5 or so disposable cameras you’d brought you’d offered them to join you and you spent the afternoon in a sandcastle building contest. You and Eddie on one team, Ollie and Olivia, after much insistence from Ollie, and Steve’s uncles on one as well. You all admittedly didn’t even try to make a good sandcastle becoming distracted by how sweet Ollie was showing his little sister how to make one. Safe to say they definitely won that contest; with that the uncles took a few last pictures, Ollie and Olivia in front of their sandcastle proudly presenting it, then Eddie joining them for one as well, and finally all of you in front of the ‘most metal sandcastle ever.’
Ollie and Olivia were adamant about making a card for Uncle Steve, which you of course helped with, when you got all the pictures that were taken you smiled fondly at the very last one; all of you in front of the sandcastle smiling so big it's a wonder your cheeks didn’t still hurt. Since you had more than one print of that picture, you’d had one framed and pasted one in the card for Steve.
There was a picture you never remembered being taken, but you suppose that made sense as your and Eddie’s backs were to the camera as you held one another and looked on at your beautiful kids having the time of their life, on the bottom of the polaroid a small note from Steve’s uncles that said ‘The Most Metal Beach Vacay Ever’ it brought a tear to your eye as you showed Eddie as you put it into a new photo album that you’d started affectionately named; Metal Memories, which had all your summer adventures in it.

Please Don't Leave Me (Pt. 18)
Bucky x Reader
Tumblr media
“She said she wanted to watch a movie.” Nat said, pulling the blankets out of the cabinet. Everyone stood in the kitchen area finishing their chinese.
“What are we going to watch because I vote no to the Great Gatsby, Rogers.” Clint spoke up.
“What? We only watched it once?” Steve said offended.
“And that was already one time too many.” Sam deadpanned.
“So what do we watch then? Any ideas?” Bruce interjected.
“How about The Hobbit.” Y/n answered from the doorway. Everyone looked over. Steve got up and walked over putting a hand on her back.
“How are you feeling?” He said softly.
I could tell Steve was beating himself up about the whole thing. We had gotten really close after Bucky ended things but lately it feels like we hadn’t seen each other. He really felt like a big brother.
“Good. Excited for this. I miss hanging out with you guys.” Everyone smiled. I knew they missed when things weren't always so serious. I couldn’t help but notice how distant Sam was. He never even looked in my direction, too interested in twirling his chopsticks.
“I actually am down for a little fantasy action.” Tony said. I picked the movie because I knew that both Steve and Bucky hadn’t watched it but they both had been enamored with the book when it came out.
“Perfect. I can go to the store and get some snacks for you guys-”
“Already done” Nat stopped me. She pointed to the bags of popcorn and candy next to the sink. I smiled. Nat was so underrated.
“Okay, let's get started then.” Everyone made their way to the couch and I waited for Bucky. He probably needed a little alone time. I wanted him to sleep after being up all night last night. I settled in the love seat that I knew he would join me on eventually. The movie started and I hummed. I felt so happy being with everyone. It's crazy what 2 years can do to a person. It wasn’t that long ago that we were all strangers. It was only a few minutes when I felt a dip in the couch and arms wrapped around me.
“Hi, doll. What are we watching?”
“The Hobbit.” I answered.
“Really?” His eyes lit up. I nodded.
“Who chose it? I really wanted to watch.” He said eyes glued to the screen.
“I did.” He pulled me closer so that my head was on his chest. We sat like that for a long time. Everyone was really into the movie, laughs filled the room when Merry and Pippin set off the dragon fireworks and Gandalf scolded them. At some point I fell asleep. I was woken up by Nat’s hand on my forearm.
“Hi.” She smiled.
“Hi.” I smiled back. I looked over to see Bucky fast asleep on my arm.
“How long have we been out?” I whispered to not wake him up.
“A half hour. The movie ended a few minutes ago. We are going to play a game in the other room if you guys want to join.” I nodded. She left and I touched Bucky's face softly. His eyes opened slowly and he seemed like he didn’t want to be woken. I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Hi, sleeping beauty. We are gonna play a game in the other room.” He nodded still groggy. He lifted his head and I stood up to be yanked back down. I laughed.
“Not so fast.” He brought me under him and his stumble touched my jaw.
“I believe it is very rude to wake someone up. You have to pay the price.” He smiled.
“Oh and what price would that be?” I laughed a hand in his hair.
“Cleanup!” Before I knew what was happening he ripped himself from me and ran into the other room.
“Fuck you!” I laughed. That was the rule, the last person has to clean up after games, dinner, movie night. I sighed and folded the blankets quickly and brought the empty popcorn bowls into the kitchen. God, Thor could eat a lot.
“Y/n! Come on! We are playing truth or dare!” I heard Clint yell from the other room. I smiled. Always so childish. I entered the room and everyone was around the glass coffee table. Thors’ hammer acted like a decoration sitting right in the middle. I sat next to Steve and Nat.
“You know the rules. Dare is a dare. No leaving the tower or doing anything that might get us arrested. Truth is just that.”
“LAME.” Tony interrupted Nat once again.
“Maybe we could do a little seven minutes in heaven after this-”
“Jar.” I pointed to the large glass mason jar on the bar.
“What is wasn’t even that cras-”
“Douchebag jar now. 50 bucks” Tony got up like a child and stuffed a 50 in the jar. There had to be almost 1000 dollars in that jar and that wasn’t counting the jars in random places around the house.
“As I was saying. If you don’t do that dare or truth you either lose a piece of clothing or take a shot of this asgardian liquor.” Nat smelled it and made a face.
“Please! I would love to see you all drunk off your asses.” Clint laughed.
“Banner you’re up.” He looked around the room.
“Steve. If you could trade lives here with anyone, who would it be?” He asked. Oohs floating around the room as one of Tony's secretaries brought out drinks.
“Hm. Probablyyyy Thor. I like the whole flying thing.” Thor smiled.
“Okay okay my turn. Tony. When was the last time you cried?” Steve always with the truths. I was thoroughly interested in this answer.
“I don’t know probably the day I was born. Oh no wait- Dummy dropped my last slice of pizza the other night. It was my favorite slice. It had everything…cheese, pepperoni, and a little dash of hope.” He pretended to shed a turn and when no one reacted he sat back up.
“Man, nothing. Okay. Ummmm y/n.” He smirked at me.
“Oh, good lord.” I rolled my eyes. Of course he would pick me.
“Sext the last person you texted.” Everyone laughed.
“You’re such a dick.” I laughed as I pulled out my phone. I immediately screamed into the couch.
“No, no, no. Give me another one.” I begged. Everyone laughed.
“Who is it?” Nat picked up my phone. She immediately started cackling her hand over her mouth.
“It's a group chat with Steve and Fury.” Everyone was dying except for Steve whose face was bright red.
“Oh come one y/n you never back down.” Clint laughed. I dramatically sighed picking up my phone. I opened the chat and typed. A second later Steve's phone dinged. He laughed.
“What are you wearing right now!” He was almost crying. I buried my face back into the couch.
“Tony. I will get you back for that. Alright let's see. Natasha. Tell me about your last wet dream.” Everyone oooheed. She got really close to my ear and started to whisper.
“It was you, me, and Steve. Right after a mission and…” She kept talking and I tried to keep my face stoic but I could feel my face getting redder by the second. Everyone was watching me intently. After a particularly erotic line I stopped her.
“Okay, okay, okay. I got it.” She started laughing. I pushed my hair behind my ears but smirked at Nat. Bucky gave me a look and I could tell he wanted to know.
“Thor. Out of all of us, who do you think is the best in bed?” He was about to answer.
“And not yourself.” Nat jokes. Again everyone laughed.
“Hmm no one comes close to me, I assure you..” He sent a wink our way.
“But I would have to say probably one of those Super Soldiers. Barnes!” He held up his glass and we all laughed.
“Is it true?” Nat asked. No one answered. Bucky looked to her.
“What?” He scoffed.
“Y/n, is it true?” I smirked behind my own glass. Nat held her head back and she screamed.
“I knew it!” Bucky's face was so red I was sure it was gonna explode.
“My turn.” He said immediately.
“I dare you all to go to Studio 54 next weekend” I raised my eyebrows.
“That’s still open?” Steve chucked.
“What is it?” Bruce asked. I was wondering the same thing.
“It’s uh a nightclub from when me and Steve were…” He trailed off. He was definitely flustered and it made me smile.
“Don’t ‘me and Steve’ anything Bucky! It was all you. Always had two girls on your arm and danced the night away. I was just a fly on that wall.” Steve accuses but he was laughing.
“Ohhh. A nightclub, Barnes. That sounds fun.” Nat teased.
“I’m down. I want to see what things were like back when the dinosaurs were still roaming around.” Tony said with his hand raised.
“Good. Then those little girls you like to hook up with will know what it's like to dance with a fossil.” I shot back at Tony. Everyone was laughing and I couldn’t help it, I was too. Tony rolled his eyes.
“James, I think that’s a great idea.” I looked at Bucky and he was already looking at me. His eye contact never wavered. It was always such an intense feeling. It felt like we were the only people in the room. I picked up my phone to text him as the game picked up again.
What should I wear?
I heard his phone vibrate and he looked at me. I looked down to the seat beside him and he picked up the phone. He smiled.
I already have something picked for you, doll. But you know I would rather you wear nothing at all.
My breath hitched when I saw the text and he knew the effect it had on me immediately.
I’m sure that could be arranged, Sergeant Barnes.
“Y/n.” I looked at my phone again and began typing.
How about something like this?
I sent him a picture I had taken after a shower that I intended to send to him.
“Y/n you have to do it!” I snapped my head up. What?
“Huh?”
“Clint dared you to drink the asgardian liquor Thor brought.” Nat nudged my shoulder.
“That’s the dare? Pft.” I grabbed the class on the table. Steve took it from my hand.
“No no no. That one.” He gestured to the tall class of straight liquor. My stomach dropped. Oh fuck. I was thinking a shot of that stuff that would have surely gotten me drunk. Not 10.
“Either that or hm I don’t know, that shirt is looking real nice on the floor.” Tony said. I rolled my eyes.
“Give it to me.” I sighed. I stood up to grab the glass and mentally prepared myself.
“We like to drink with y/n, because y/n is our friend! And when we drink with y/n she gets it down in 10! 9, 8,-” I threw it back and it tasted like battery acid. I heard everyone chanting around me and I swear to God I threw it back up into the cup before it went down. I finished the glass on 2 and slammed it on the table. Thor was cheering extra loud. I immediately felt tipsy. I sat back down and landed on Nat’s lap, both of us laughing. She put her arms around me and we stayed like that the rest of the game. Someone dared Tony to take off his clothes and get in the suit, Bruce ended up eating some weird concoction, Thor did Nats makeup blindfolded, Clint had to go skinny dipping, Steve and Bucky had to learn a Magic Mike routine and perform for the group, and then there was me. I was so drunk. Like barely functioning. I found myself dancing on the bar and the music was blasting. All I wanted to do was dance with Bucky.
“Bucky!” I was jumping in circles. He made his way over to the bar and grabbed my leg trying to slow me down. I grabbed his hand.
“Dance with meee” I tried to tug him up. He rolled his eyes and climbed up on the bar. He stood still while I danced and I frowned. I pulled out some whacky move and he finally caved. I screamed. We kept going back and forth until he had my back to his chest and we were just touching each other. I clearly saw Nat and Steve dancing and I internally reminded myself to tease her about it tomorrow. Feel so Close by Calvin Harris came on and it was over. I don’t remember everything that happened next but I know we danced forever and eventually I felt someone scoop me up and bring me to mine and Bucky’s room. I hit the bed and I smiled.
“That was the best night everrr.” I could hear the faint sounds of music from downstairs. We were both sweating. It was too hot to get under the covers.
“I know. I had fun too, doll.” He laid next to me and I pulled him close.
“I’m gonna marry you James. I’m gonna marry you so hard.” He let out a booming laugh and he rolled onto his back, his hand on his bare chest. I laughed too.
“I’m gonna marry you even harder, Y/n L/n.” We held each other's gaze and we fell asleep both on our backs holding hands. I don’t think I will ever get over this feeling.

haii bean !!! I wanted to bully kotoko request some funnies and sillies :) could you please write a drabble with amane and yuno (and anyone else) annoying kotoko . i feel like amane and yuno would go :3 and kotoko would go >:T… ofc feel free to ignore/dlt this :3
LOL of course! I'm sad I've become the Milgram Bully but I'm glad to give the boys a little break 😂 Thank you so much for the request, it was really fun getting back into the swing of writing with this! (also wooooo it's getting me so hyped for Deep Cover!!) Out of everyone, those two could definitely get away with :3-ing Kotoko to no end...
“Thirty-five, thirty-six, thirty-sev--”
“Hey, Kotoko?”
“Thirty-se, er, thirty-eight...”
“Kotoko?”
“Thirty- uh…”
“Hey, hey, Kotoko?”
She rolled onto her back, having lost count of her pushups. “Yuno.” Her voice was even between heavy breaths. “Can’t you see I’m busy?”
“Actually, I can see you need a break, and I’m happy to provide one!”
With a grunt, Kotoko sat up to face her. Yuno smiled down, her eyes sparkling with... something. Amane stood nearby, looking just as suspiciously sweet.
“What do you two need…?”
“We’re here to join you,” Amane said. “We wish to work out.”
“Oh? You’ve never been interested in exercise before.”
“Well, you yourself have motivated us to get stronger.”
“I’m pretty sure you just got bored…”
“Of course not! We’re committed!”
Kotoko studied them with a harsh look. They smiled innocently back. She narrowed her eyes. They widened theirs in anticipation. She leaned back. They leaned forward.
Yuno clasped her hands together. “Come ooon~ It’ll be fun having workout buddies! I’m a very hard worker, and you’ve seen how well-behaved Amane is. How bad could it be?”
Very, apparently.
She started with some stretches to get them warmed up. It was impossible to get them to focus, or hit the right positions, or stop giggling. Kotoko tried to tell them about breath control, but they seemed more excited to chatter on about everything under the sun.
“I’ve always thought of stretching like this and being a famous dancer,” Yuno said. “Like a ballerina…” She did a little set of twirls. Kotoko tried to tell her not to do anything to crazy before they’d warmed up, but she just kept on spinning.
Amane’s eyes lit up. “I’ve always wanted to be in a marching band. They’re like dancers, a little bit!”
“Ooh, you’re right! I could never be so uniform, though, I want to do my own thing… like an idol or something!” Yuno did another set of moves. No one was following Kotoko’s perfectly timed toe touches anymore.
“I guess we can get started…”
There was just as much dancing when they began jumping jacks, despite the fact that there were only two very clear positions to hit. Yuno wanted to do sets that traveled around the room, then ones that turned rapidly around in a circle, then ones that turned really rapidly in a circle. She and Amane made themselves dizzy with it.
Kotoko decided a good, grounded activity would serve them better. They took turns holding each others’ feet and counting situps. Yuno got distracted easily, delving into nonstop conversation whether she should have been counting, watching, or doing the situps herself. She’d use her hands to talk, letting go of whoever she was meant to stabilize. Amane, on the other hand was practically a drill sergeant the way she tried to keep the others on pace.
“Eight! Nine! Ten!”
“Amane, I think you’re supposed to count when I sit up, not force me to keep up with you…”
“Well don’t be so slow about it, and you’ll stay in time. Let’s go! Eleven! Twelve!”
“Ack!”
Kotoko rubbed her temples. Maybe adding some equipment could keep them busy?
Jumping rope brought new struggles. Yuno spend ten minutes trying to recall a schoolyard rhyme to jump rope to, and teach it to Amane. They both encouraged Kotoko to join in, but she was jumping at a faster rhythm. That became impossible as their chanting filled the room. Moreover, none of them could stay in their own space. There were about five rope tangles before Kotoko decided to call a break.
(She didn’t exactly know what they needed a break from, they’d hardly done anything.) The girls seemed happy to sit down and chat, though. Kotoko reluctantly passed her protein shake over as they asked to try it. “One sip…”
She covered her mouth, deep in contemplation. Maybe these exercises were too easy. It was too easy to get distracted out here in the common area. They’d be forced to buckle down and focus on something more taxing, right?
She jabbed a thumb over her shoulder. “After this we’ll head over to my cell, okay? I have a bar installed for pull-ups. It’s tricky, but you have to start somewhere.”
“Hmmmm…” Yuno tapped a finger to her chin. “I’m not sure about that. You know… I think you were right. I think we were just bored. Well!” She clapped her hands together. “I guess we’ll stop bothering you now. Bye!”
Amane joined her for a curt bow. “Thank you for your time.”
Kotoko blinked after them. “Er, but…!”
Just like that, they were gone.
She released a long breath. She picked up her shake. It was empty.

Trying to get the muse going :)
@tragiclyhip @youflickedtooharddamnit @secretaryunpaid @watermeezer and everyone else of course :)
“Addie came in a little while ago,” she says, as she rummages through the selection of makeup in front of her. “To show off her hair. Daddy knocks it out of the park. AGAIN. You’ve become quite the professional, babe. Maybe you should moonlight as a stylist on the side.”
“That is NEVER going to happen.”
“I don’t know, you could have a vault of untapped talent inside of you. You could very well be the Australian Sally Hershberger. The MALE, Australian Sally, of course.”
He drops heavily onto the edge of their unmade bed; grimacing at the pain that settles in his right hip and travels down his leg. “Don’t get your hopes up. Something tells me I won’t need to make that drastic of a career change.”
She gives a sudden, dramatic gasp and looks at him over her shoulder. “I just came up with the PERFECT name for you. For your new business. Are you ready for it? Want to hear it?”
“Something tells me I don’t.”
“Tyler the Styler! What do you think?”
He glares at her. “I think I hate you right now.”
“Do you, husband? DO you?”
“No. Not really. I never could. I love you way too much. Despite what’s in my best interests.”
“What did you think of Addie’s dress? Doesn’t exactly scream Christmas, but it certainly screams Adeline Rake. Suits her, huh? Kind of fitting that yellow is her favourite colour.”
“Perfect for her if you ask me. Doesn’t Shaena always call her a little ray of sunshine? I know she is in my life.”
“She was so proud of herself for finding that dress. You would have thought it was the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen; the way her little face just lit right up and she gave that excited little squeal of hers. She just gets so happy over the simplest of things. Like when we go into town and give her five bucks to spend at the candy store; she doesn’t ask for more and she comes as if she’d won the lottery. She doesn’t just like things, she LOVES them. To her, the whole world is amazing and perfect and no one can ever change her mind.”
“She’s like her mom. Sees the good in everyone and everything.”
“I wish I WAS still like that. If five years ago did anything, it showed me that I actually CAN’T trust everyone. That I put too much faith in humanity. That some people really don’t have any good and redeeming qualities. They really ARE born evil.”
“As much as I hate to say ‘I told you so’...”
“Addie’s just so different, don’t you think? She’s not like any of the other ones. She’s just bubbly and giggly and light hearted. I mean, she was made during a really rough time. We found out about her during the whole McMann thing. She’s this perfect little being that hasn’t been touched by any of the bullshit. Even though she was right in the middle of it.”
“She reminds me of you when we first met. You were like that; all sweet and adorable and you had this cute little giggle. I remember thinking how it would probably be annoying if I didn’t have such a hard on for you.”
She rolls her eyes. “You are just so charming. Such a sweet talker. Never an absence of romance in this house.”
“Who needs romance?” Flopping backwards onto the mattress, he places the doll on his chest and closes his eyes; a forearm draped across his forehead and a hand resting on Adeline’s back. “ It’s been almost thirteen years. I thought I didn’t have to try that hard anymore.”
“Thirteen years? You stopped trying five days in.”
“You made it perfectly clear you just wanted me for my dick. I figured as long as it did a good job, everything else was golden.”
“That’s exactly it, husband. You have it all figured out. I started out just wanting your dick and my heart couldn’t mind it’s own business and wanted a piece of you too. And here we are, twelve and a half years and seven kids later. Quite a far cry from banging like rabbits for five days.”
“If anyone had ever told me that my fake wife would become my REAL wife, I would have told them they were nuts.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
“It definitely is NOT. Weird how one of the worst times of my life turned into the best damn thing that ever happened to me. I mean, I could have gone without getting shot in the throat, but…”

SO PJO CAME OUT TODAY
and i have a lot of thoughts
this is just me screaming into the void about this show that i’ve been excited about since it’s been announced.
i haven’t personally really read the books in a bit, so if i am remembering things incorrectly or forgetting if something was in the books or not, forgive me (and correct me and my terrible memory)
OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS AHEAD
EPISODE 1: I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher
first off - chapter titles. i knew about this a while ago but im so happy we are doing this
getting the whole speech from percy in the beginning oh we are so back
blackjack??? that was blackjack right??
MYTHOMAGIC CARDS
if this gets us actual mythomagic cards we can buy, so help me god. i’m gonna spend all my money on them
i will never be able to speak highly enough about sally jackson. best fictional mom ever and i love her with all of my heart.
the “hold fast perseus. brave the storm” parallel at the beginning and end of the episode oh i’m sick to my stomach
the fountain scene felt a little… goofy? from what i remember percy just remembers her ending up in the fountain, like it sounds like he kinda blacks out. maybe that’s actually how it was in the books, but i did imagine it differently.
grover and brunner being the KINGS of gaslighting
percy is stronger than i could ever be if grover exposed me like that i couldn’t talk to him for like a year.
the biggest issue i’ve seen everyone talk about: gabe. i understand WHY they made him how he is in the tv show. it’s a disney show, they can’t have him be completely book accurate putting his hands on sally and threatening percy for money so he can play poker, but i feel like this doesn’t fit with how he ends up at the end of book 1. maybe we will see a more ‘evil’ side to him through the news interviews and stuff, or he will have a different ending, but i feel like the way he acts now doesn’t justify his end in book 1 that i expect to see in the tv show.
sally in the rain listening to olivia rodrigo i love her so much 😭😭😭
d’angelos??? it’s spelled differently but reference perhaps? i cannot WAIT to see nico i hope we get to see him in the casino
i didn’t get this until i saw someone point it out but the cuts to black were ends of chapters!! and it makes so much more sense. i will say it feels a bit odd?? but i honestly prefer it more as someone who has read the books.
i find the whole sally explaining the gods to percy interesting. it fits for the tv show more, but i love book percy just getting forced into camp half blood without any real knowledge just like “what the fuck is going on”
“Like… like Jesus?” PERCY PLS
i love this grover reveal, but the BEST will forever be the musical
“She was a fury!” “YOU’RE a furry, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR LEGS?!?”
grover dropping the fact he is 24 in a super intense scene is very grover
that first shot of thalia’s tree lit up by the LIGHTNING gave me CHILLS
the entire minotaur scene was incredible. sally’s speech to grover and percy. percy killing the minotaur. insane
not to mention sally taking percy’s jacket to throw off the minotaurs scent? such a cool choice
EPISODE 2: I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom
"you droll when you sleep" YUPPP MHMM YUP
ik that the whole 'Mr. D trying to use percy to get a drink' thing is supposed to be a little joke, but its also such a good way to explain the whole "gods can get their kids to steal shit for them because they can't do it themselves" without having a whole dramatic moment explaining it.
in my head I imagined the entire camp being very heavily wooded, maybe that's just the movies having some influence over me when it comes to visualization, but it was cool to see the camp in the actually valley in a very book accurate portrayal.
OH THE CABINS MY EYES WERE GLUED THE WHOLE TIME
THEY LOOK SO GOOD
this tv show has already captured the two personally traits of percy jackson: 1. he loves his mom 2. he hates the gods
the jelly beans
seeing Luke befriend percy and be his first friend at camp luke I am in your fucking walls
I personally feel like the way they have chosen to portray clarisse is quite different from the books, but I absolutely love it. i was not a fan of her for a while in the books, but I love her immediately in this version.
also did we get to 'see' the cloven council in tlt? I don't think we did, and I like seeing it in prep for sea of monsters.
the entire scene of percy praying to his mom breaks me. oh my god. favorite scene in the entire show so far. it breaks my heart he loves and misses her so much.
"I think I've made some friends here. like real friends" luke I have a gun
the whole bathroom scene. that's it.
ANNABETH
maybe its just different seeing all these characters portrayed well on the screen, but she feels super different than book annabeth but also exactly the same. im not 100% how to explain it but there is no one better to play annabeth than leah
I am so excited to see this slowburn all over again
"she my little sister" luke please
thalia name pronunciation how are we feeling team
i have 100% been pronouncing it the other way this whole time but oh well
"sunshine" hey! when we get the first "seaweed brain" I am going to go crazy
"percy's on it. when its time he's gonna be ready" are you sure about that luke
in the books the main 'introduction scene' we got with clarisse was the bathrooms, but this scene with her in the woods feel much more like an introduction scene and im not sure if this was done on purpose, but I love her and this scene.
annabeth. I cannot stress my love for her enough
annabeth pushing him into the water instead of him falling. love her
percy FINALLY finding a place he belongs only to be forced out on a quest for his dad that he fucking hates
"good kid" from tlt musical was so right
"I am Sally Jackson's son!" what if I just started eating glass rn
anyway I am absolutely obsessed with this show already. I am so sorry to anyone who doesn't want pjo on their feed you are getting it anyway.
if this show is your first introduction to the series. read the books! or at least the lightning thief. and for the love of god LISTEN TO THE MUSICAL. I cannot stress enough how good of a portrayal of the book it is and it is my all time favorite interpretation of the books (although this show may take that top spot soon).
