Jumping on that prev ask about making comics like a lil coward: Say I have a rough draft for the story I wanna draw, I know key scenes I wanna hit and I have at least a spine of a plot from start to finish - can this suffice to get started? My thing is I am worried I will overthink, overplan, get lost in too many details and research and then I will never get started because I can't tell if I have planned/done enough. Sorry to bother you with that but I saw that other ask and what you answered (which was very helpful) and took heart.

Oh absolutely, that is perfect actually! Over detailing your script/plot outline thing (???) from my experience is not good, the simpler the better

For instance, here’s the plot thing I’ve been following for TMS so far:

It’s basically a summary. Think of these as like what you’d tell your friend if you were giving them a catch up on a tv show. It’s enough to get the idea but you’re not quoting every line of dialogue.

My personal belief is that no amount of research is too much. So long as you know how to utilize your new found knowledge for making your story more engaging and entertaining, you can research anything and everything. Though I think there is a big difference between adding facts from your research and writing a novel.

My point is, Yes do the research, you will only be rewarded for research, but when you’re writing a plot outline, only write the basic story points, settings, and general moods. You will make up the rest later and it’ll be more fun than copying a screenplay.

Hopefully this made sense, I’m still working on refining this process to its fullest potential. I’m not sure how well it works for other peoples’ brains but for me this is what works the best.

•When and what was your first exposure to Elvis Presley? I knew about Elvis from a young age, but it was nothing too serious. Full House was my most consistent exposure because I loved that sitcom, and Jesse being obsessed with Elvis was his running gag but I correlated Elvis to John Stamos forever lol. Another jumping off point for me was in Lilo and Stitch. Devil in Disguise became one of my favorites strictly because of that film lol. And then in junior high i had a friend who's step dad was literally obsessed with Elvis. Would play his music loudly every single time i went over her house. My nana also would make reference to marrying my grandpa because he looked like Elvis. But my biggest exposure to Elvis was from the Baz film of course. So he's been around me for a long time, but I never took it too far until this film.

•And what was your first impression? I thought Elvis was nothing more than a gimmick. He's been so overly parodied in his life and in death that I grew to roll my eyes at those "uh huhhh thank ya very much lil mama" type of deals y'know. I was like ugh please...I saw him as very novelty and I never saw past those parodies.

•Lace shirts or jumpsuits? Oooh come on now!! Lace shirts are so slutty but honestly, those jumpsuits get me hot under the collar.

•You can steal one of Elvis/Austin’s outfits, what’s it going to be? Im assuming this is in the context of stealing an outfit so i can wear it. Since I can't choose just one i'll give 2, one for Elvis and one for Austin

There's something about this outfit that I know I could rock if i could alter it to my body. maybe make the trousers into hot pants lol. tie the shirt up. but yeah i love this one

•What’s an aspect of Elvis’ character you wish more people appreciated? HIS HUMOR *i scream into the void*. the man had a wicked sense of humor like...people need to see it. But also his generosity.

I would be like Elvis baby...the man has gots to go i beg of you. I think in my delusional mind he'd listen to me. ain't nothin gonna work if i talk to the Colonel himself except maybe if i give him a firm slap across the mouth

•What was your favorite aspect/scene from the Elvis 2022 movie? i have so many but i really love the Vegas Rehearsal scene. It's so so so good and so hot. like goddamn who told Austin he could be that hot and authoritative

•You can choose only one song or piece of media to convince someone to become an Elvis fan, what is it going to be? that's really hard because i have to think of this practically. if i show someone one of Elvis's many films, i don't think that would do the trick. it would be too cheesy for a non-fan. And then the 68 Comeback Special is a good option however with all the musical numbers in there i again don't think that would 100% win a non-fan over without context.

I would probably show them the That's The Way It Is film doc that shows funny rehearsal footage and then the live concert from 1970. It's perfect because it shows Elvis's dedication to the musical arrangements, his humor, and his talent.

•How many children would you give Elvis Presley from your own -or theoretical- womb? (listen to the beast in ya, your feminism won’t serve you here) I genuinely am terrified of the idea of pregnancy and labor because im not about pain and suffering with a changing body for 9 months. But for Elvis...damn i'd give him maybe like 2-3 kids. But this is a hard question because we know the man wasn't a fan of women who gave birth/had children soooo...if I could give him children and he'd still want to fuck me then thats a win Lol.

When and what was your first exposure to Elvis Presley?

im not sure if this was actually my very first exposure or not but this the earliest memory i have lol idek if it really counts but when i first watched ‘forest gump’ & they were saying he got his moves from forest. & then after that i remember hearing about him through ‘full house’.

And what was your first impression?

i didn’t really think too much about him & it’s crazy bc i’m beyond obsessed now lol i never really dived into him or music until recently. i mean i always thought the way he danced was interesting LOL but yea all i knew about really was the basics, the dance moves, jumpsuits, the ‘King’ title, his connection to black culture & and his death. it’s insane bc i very recently found out that my mother was a HUGE elvis fan & i was so in shock bc she never played any of his music or mentioned him to me or around me. i was offended lmaoooo bc i could’ve been had him in my life😭

Marijon Week 2021 Day One Prompt: Blue Eyes||Identity Reveal

WHEN WAS SOMEONE GOING TO TELL ME THAT SUPERBOY AND LADYBUG COULD SING- [video attached]

[The Video starts shakily, pointing at a 45 degree angle to Superboy 2.0. He is hovering near the edge of the roof and softly strumming a ukulele, seemingly lost in thought. The video zooms in and he begins to hum the intro to Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish. He pauses, clears his throat, and begins in a beautiful tenor.

“I’ve been watching you, for some time. Can’t stop starin’ at those ocean eyes.” He flies backwards and sits on the edge of the roof, smiling.

“Burning cities and napalm skies,” a new voice continues. Superboy stops playing the ukulele and looks up, eyes wide. The cameraman gasps and pans to the right to find Ladybug. You can tell by her windswept hair and the way she is holding her yo-yo that she just swung onto the rooftop. “Fifteen flares inside those ocean eyes, your ocean eyes.” The camera follows her as she walks over to pull Superboy into a standing position. Smiling, the heroine continues in her surprisingly clear voice.

“No fair,” she nudges him. “You really know how to make me cry,”

Superboy snaps out of his stupor and joins her. “When you give me those ocean eyes, I’m scared. I’ve never fallen from quite this high falling into your ocean eyes, those ocean eyes.”

The song continues with the two of them dueting and harmonizing beautifly, crescendoing when appropriate and quieting down at the more serious parts. At some point, Ladybug grabs Superboy by the hand and pulls him to the center of the rooftop where she begins to dance. As the song comes to an end, they slow down considerably and their faces begin to drift closer. As soon as the last note leaves their lips, Superboy darts forward and captures her lips with his.

A whoop is heard from behind the camera, followed by an “Oh, shit!” when the superheroes break apart and look at the camera man. The camera shakes and the video ends.]

How I feel about this character

MAN i love nie huaisang. he’s just such a fun character! literally all the details we get about him contribute so well to a hilarious image of him as a person. he has the guts (or, is stupid enough) to sneak a bird into class. he’s the cloud recesses porn dealer. he expresses multiple times how beautiful he thinks various men are. he cuts class to do art. he’s lazy and a coward but in a very likeable way. and he likes hanging out with his bros, and he really respects meng yao, and he loves his da-ge very much (even if they don’t always see eye to eye) and is willing to do so much for his sake...

and then nie mingjue is murdered. and huaisang, who feels things way too strongly, who puts effort into art and fishing and everything he’s not supposed to, suddenly refocuses his efforts into the task of getting the best - and most convoluted - revenge ever. (because that’s how his brain works.) and the fact that it all goes according to his “plan” (plan in scare quotes because i don’t think he had a full one from the start) is terrifying.

he’s so complex! he contains multitudes! he cares So Much and when it comes down to it he’s willing to do some really horrible things for the sake of the people he loves. and the way he uses his reputation of incompetence to shield him from blame!!! ugh he’s just so clever and i love characters who are manipulative like that. plus, it feeds into the running theme in mdzs about how reputation/hearsay isn’t a reliable way to learn about who a person truly is...

so nie huaisang is my fandom bicycle which means i have a LOT of possible answers to this question..

as you all know i’m a huge fan of sangxian. but not really romantically? and i don’t think there’s much in canon to suggest they’re anything other than Just Good Bros but i love their dynamic (and how touchy-feely they are lmao) and i love the idea of them being FWB/QPPs. underrated ship!

sangcheng is also really good. excellent silly x serious vibe! and - yes this is a huge rarepair but i’ve gotten quite into it - sangning? two sweet anxious nerds who care a lot about their older sibs!

if you’re looking for a more fucked up flavor of nhs ships, sangyao is delicious. the fact that they cared about each other so much! and jgy still thinks nhs cares about him, even when nhs is plotting! breaks my heart

sangyu is in some ways even more fucked up and it’s great

other nhs rarepairs i’ve considered are nhs/jzx and nhs/xy (the first features in my current wip!) ... this post is long enough though so i won’t talk about those

well. wei wuxian. they are bros!!! the whole gusu trio is great. i’m also a big fan of nhs being friends with mianmian! i think their personalities would bounce off each other in a really fun way

as much fun as sangyu is, i think my preferred personal headcanon for their relationship is a strictly platonic one. i think they were really friends!!

My unpopular opinion about this character

i don’t think he’s a villain. that is to say - he is 100% a morally grey character who does some truly awful things, but i just don’t think he fits the right role in the story to be labeled a villain

on a lighter note - i sort of headcanon nhs as alloaro! as in, allosexual (gay) but also on the aromantic spectrum. i’ve seen tons of other good nhs hcs but this is the one stuck in my mind lol

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

i wish he and wwx had had more time to hang out in the middle of the story. i wish we’d seen more of them hanging out in general! then again, the part where wwx (post-golden core transfer) is in qinghe, and pushes nhs away - that really struck me. and it’s a sad moment, but i think it’s an important moment, because it shows how much wwx has grown (in a bad way, i think) and how nhs is beginning to lose all his connections...

Not to alarm you, but... whoa

This was sent to me in an email from MVT, a tactical training group I was planning on taking courses from in the future. This is how some of these guys feel, not to alarm anyone, I just wanted to show you how serious the situation is in America right now. What you are about to read is a mainstream view, as in millions and millions and millions of Americans feel this way but are largely silent at the moment. I don’t necessarily agree with everything he says, but I thought it would be worth sharing so you could feel the same sense of alarm I felt going through my emails... - REGIII, M.D., 32, RAM ‘Modern Alchemist’   

“BLUF: What you need to hear, but don’t want to.

Let’s keep things simple, shall we.

We are facing the end of the Republic. It is easily argued that it already expired, the point being that now we face a deep state coup, massive election fraud, huge corruption, an attempted Marxist takeover, and foreign control from China.

Democrats are traitors to the Republic. Republicans are not much better. The rule of law is dead: nothing that Trump has attempted to do has been done. He is surrounded by the deep state. The three letter agencies (of which so many of you are so afraid) have sold out to the dark side. They are part of the deep state.

Many of you are sold on the PSYOP that there is a plan in place. You may follow QAnon. “Trust the plan.” There is no plan. The attorneys who have attempted to fight the election fraud in court are fools. Why? Because they are working in an old system, where they had success with big lawsuits in court, and cannot get their heads around the massive corruption of the rule of law and the court system. They are working in an old system that no longer has merit. The supreme court is not doing its job. The Lawyers will not save you; you have to save yourself.

I would like to be wrong, and I would be happy to be so. But I don’t think so. Unless Trump pulls a plan out of his ass, Biden is getting sworn in on the 20th of January. The reprieve we had during the four years of the Trump Presidency will be over.

Most of America is sleeping. They expect that we will get over this. They expect a ‘return to normal.’ That is not going to happen. In 2021, it will all be over. The Republic will be finally dead. They hate you, and will be after you. That means your livelihood, your family, even your very lives. It always happens with a socialist administration. Even when you tell yourself that “it can’t happen here.” America is the prize, and it will happen here more than anywhere else.

Thus we face huge normalcy bias and denial. And this is the key, what I want to talk about here today.

I wrote a recent article called “Trust in Combat.” What I didn’t do was give you the answer to the problem. I will do so today, however much you don’t want to hear it.

The Trust in Combat article focused on the problems with forming groups, and training, and all the inherent issues about ego that will destroy a group, which is formed before the actual need for that group. Thus, we form groups now which are aimed at surviving hard times, but are operating now in easy times. Thus, ego will play and when it comes time, when you are actually in combat and the rounds are flying, it is likely to all fall down.

And that is the issue. We are either facing war, or perhaps we are not facing war at all, given the somnolence of the American population. We would tell ourselves that at some point, they must wake up. But will they? Or will they go to the camps like the citizens of the USSR? Will they tell themselves that “it will be resolved in the courts.” I really don’t know. I don’t have a crystal ball. I have no idea how this will play out.

I will tell you that there is no point waiting until the Marxist coup is consolidated, and strongly in place. Unless Trump is able to pull something out of the bag (a PSYOP story that will keep many of you hesitating) then what needs to happen is that We The People stand up. But we know that We The People will not do this. The ‘conservatives’ are either corrupt, or as seen with many of the ‘MAGA’ voters, are too focused on picking up litter and being polite, despite the assaults from Antifa. There comes a time to forget about the litter, and be rude as fuck. We are facing a civilizational assault on Liberty and the United States Constitution. And all we really care about is picking up litter, being polite, and trying to get by. There is absolutely no point in keeping arms, for resisting tyranny, if you have absolutely no intention of using them. All these quotes about blades of grass and the American Riflemen make me laugh; weapons will be banned and everyone will hand them in, because they were conditioned and told to do so (see how many are wearing masks?) Except, of course, for those who won’t; the problem being that they will be small groups and individuals.

So, however we get there, we will be at war. Whether the left comes for us, and however we resist, whether it be in small or large groups, we will be at war. This means that hardly anyone is trained, or physically fit enough; we will end up in combat as a total shit show. It’s going to be a total disaster and a lot of people will unnecessarily die. But that is just the way it is, because hardly anyone has the foresight to get fit, prepared and trained before such an event. We will be suddenly involved in some sort of Bosnian civil war scenario with absolutely no preparation and no forming of trusted, reliable, teams in advance.

So what is the solution? Individually we must do all we can to get fit, trained and equipped. We just know that we cannot form groups before the war, because of the way we are (‘Rugged Individuals’), and even groups that already exist are most likely flawed because they are not tested in combat (not fully trusted and tested in advance). The moment that the rounds start flying, is exactly the moment when all the unspoken issues of ego and trust start appearing, and before you know it, no one is doing what you trained to do (or not trained?) No one is moving. See my ‘Trust in Combat” article if you have not read it already.

What needs to happen is that, when people finally wake up and realize that they need to fight back, they need discipline and organization. People fight for a couple of things, and those can be summed up as 1) the group, and love of the group / not wanting to appear a coward in front of them and 2) discipline. This discipline can be found in the military with UCMJ, Uniform Code of Military Justice. The military is a legitimate organization where in small teams, the ‘alpha’ personalities are kept in check by a mixture of UCMJ (the hard check) and a general understanding that for the team to succeed, leaders must be supported. If leaders are generally supported, then people will do less dying (assuming competent leadership), and the team will be successful. None of this takes away from the wider discussion of leaders, for example, listening to helpful planning suggestions, not being a nightmare of a leader (effective leadership) and the rest; thus assuming relative competence from leadership, it is a good idea that the leader is supported in his role. Otherwise “we break down, the machine breaks down.”

How does this happen in civilian groups, either formed now or formed after hostilities begin? The leader must be able to rely on his team. He must be able to assume discipline and adherence to orders. When he expects someone to move, they must move. There must be a system of some form of oath, and some form of UCMJ. If people fail to do as ordered in combat, or are willfully disobedient, then they will face effective discipline.

And we know that this is not an acceptable plan for all of you “you are not the boss of me” types. ‘Rugged Individualists” (LOL), who will die as such.

When we talk about some of our favorite things, like the Revolutionary War or the Civil War, and we refer to the organizations of the day, we have to realize that these were either Armies or Militias. The Colonial Militia was an actual military force with leaders and discipline. Yes, I know that the Bosnia x Rwanda situation that we are likely to face is not the same war as they fought, but the point being that you cannot expect men to rise to combat without training and discipline. Without that they are just a mob, and will likely be as effective. And for those that don’t want to hear it, this is also not he same as a ‘militia muster’ with untrained and unfit people showing up to ‘muster’ in a field and then going home. We met this fearsome warrior this season. I don’t think anything else really happened. 

Now:

St. Mary’s Convent

Ilchester, Maryland

1972

A priest is possessed by a demon. Later, at a service with the nuns, his prayers are a little uncouth.

He locks everyone in the chapel. He starts to ramble a little more about fathers and then his eyes flash yellow. He pulls out a big knife and well, I guess service ends little differently than normal too. 

Meanwhile, Sam stares pensively into the distance. Is he making the right choice? Did he condition his hair too much this morning? Ruby snaps him out of his morose contemplations. Sam’s sad about how he and Dean left things. He knows that there isn’t an “after” for him once they do what they’re planning. 

Dean, meanwhile, stares morosely out Bobby’s window. 

For Elfen Ears and Freckles Science:

Bobby snaps him out of his thoughts. Bobby wants Dean to reach out to Sam again. He shouldn’t give up on his brother. Dean goes into full soap opera mode and makes it clear that “Sam is gone.” He’s not even sure Sam is even his brother anymore --if he ever was. I’m just lol-ing over his overdramatic ass, but Bobby loses his shit and gives Dean the football coach speech. Then he compares Dean to John. And he calls John a coward. SHOTS FIRED! Bobby then makes it clear that Dean is a better person than John (to which Dean scoffs at...grr, Dean!). 

Dean turns away and the next thing he realizes is that he’s in the Green Room. Cas is there. He tells Dean, “It’s almost time.”

At a hospital, a nurse takes a baby from its parents presumably so they can get some rest. In reality, it’s a demon set on nefarious ways. She’s stopped by Sam though. 

Dean wanders his prison and finds beer and burgers...and Zachariah. 

He wants Dean to relax before go time. All the seals are broken, but one. Zach tells Dean that it’ll happen the following night at midnight, and Lilith has to be the one to break it. 

Sam is torturing the demon for Lilith’s location. She doesn’t really see a reason to give it up --she’s dead no matter what. 

Dean calls and leaves a message for Sam. His apology gets cut short. And Sam doesn’t get it anyway because he’s really going to town on torturing the demon. The demon admits that Lilith will be at a convent (the very same one from the cold open) tomorrow night. Ruby wants to drain her of her blood. The demon reminds them that she’s possessing a human, and lets the human come out to play. 

We then flashback to the convent in the aftermath of the possessed priest’s bloodbath. He prays to Lucifer, who responds through the voice of a dead nun. Lucifer tells him that Lilith can break the seals. Then Lucifer instructs old Yellow Eyes to find him a special child. 

Cut to Sam Winchester doing research on the convent. He’s all nerding out over what I can imagine is the serial killer aspect of the murders. 

Ruby’s ready to roll and wants to pack up the nurse and get going. Sam’s showing a little reluctance for murdering the possessed woman. Despite her pleas, Sam still throws her in the trunk of his car. Yowza. 

Like a bored house cat, Dean starts knocking things over in the Green Room. Cas shows up. “I need something,” Dean says. “Anything you wish,” Cas responds. Boy, doesn’t that sum up their relationship for the past 12 years? Dean wants to see Sam. Cas doesn’t think it’s a good idea. 

Dean wants to leave. It becomes clear that the angels are not going to let him leave. And Cas is gone without a word. 

Over the constant, horrible symphony of nurse Cindy’s screams from the trunk, Sam and Ruby chat as they drive. Sam’s horrified by Cindy’s terror and Ruby reminds him that every demon he drains dry is like this: a scared human trapped in their own body. (She accuses him of trying to grow a “persqueeter” -- for which I tell her to go fuck herself.) Sam’s having doubts that he’s on the right path. 

Dean tries to break his way out of the beautiful room. I bet you could use a GRENADE LAUNCHER right about now, eh? Nothing he does seems to make an impact. Zachariah flaps down to rub it in. Dean demands to see Sam, and asks how to kill Lilith. It’s now that Zachariah drops some truth bombs. Heaven’s plan all along has been for the final seal to break. “The end is nigh. The apocalypse is coming, kiddo. To a theater near you.”

Not every angel knew the grand plan, Zachariah admits, but Heaven’s top brass allowed all the seals to break. While Zachariah talks about Heaven’s glorious victory in the coming battle, Dean takes another look around the room. This time, he realizes that the beautiful paintings are full of depictions of angels versus demons, and bloody war. People are just acceptable losses. Dean insists that Sam will save the day.

Zacharian tries to “comfort” Dean, telling him that he his role in the apocalypse is actually to stop Lucifer after he rises. No pressure! And where’s God? “God has left the building,” Zachariah says smugly before he peaces out again. 

At a spooky convent, a security guard patrols when he’s confronted by Lilith! It’s show time, baby. 

Still trapped in the room, Dean’s trying to call Sam when Cas arrives. “You’re outside your coverage zone,” Castiel, cell service technician of the lord, says. He tells Dean that all the trouble Sam’ll get into will be entirely his own doing. But Cas has flapped down for Dean. “We have been through much together, you and I. I just wanted to say I’m sorry it ended like this.” (I have no regrets for the gleeful series of pictures of Dean and Cas that are about to follow.)

Dean’s not receptive to an apology, and takes a swing at Cas.

“This is long foretold,” Cas insists. 

Dean refuses to condone this argument. “Destiny? God’s plan? It’s all a bunch of lies, you poor, stupid son of a bitch!” The apocalypse narrative is Heaven’s way of keeping the grunts in line.

“You know what’s real?” Dean asks. “People. Families. That’s real.” (Excuse me while I make the EYEBALLS EMOJI at season 15 because dang, ya’ll.)(Boris, curled in a ball in the corner: “We are.”)

Cas demands to know why the world ought to be saved when there’s suffering in it. When paradise descends it will bring peace. This is such an angel line it KILLS ME. (Especially with all we now know about Heaven.) “You can take your peace and shove it up your lily white ass,” Dean says quietly. 

Dean would rather have pain, guilt, and dark!Sam than be some “Stepford bitch in paradise.” A super valid, excellent point, even if I am going to take a moment to picture Dean Stepfordized. Dean insists that there is a right and wrong side, and Cas is currently on the wrong end of it. 

Dean begs for Cas’s help to get to Sam and stop him from opening the last seal. Cas knows if he rebels, they’ll all be killed. “If there’s anything worth dying for,” Dean insists, “this is it.” Cas looks conflicted but nevertheless doesn’t immediately swing over to the rebellion, and Dean disgustedly tells him that they’re “done.” Cas flaps out.

Outside the convent, Sam contemplates what he’s about to do. Ruby prods him to act, playing with her demon-smiting knife impatiently. Sam finally checks the voicemail that Dean left near the beginning of the episode. Only, it’s not quite how we remember it. In the voicemail, Dean now accuses Sam of being a “blood sucking freak” and a monster, and promises to kill Sam. Um. Behind Sam, Ruby smirks.

It’s go-time now. Sam decides he’s his own only hope and tells Ruby to pull the screaming nurse from the trunk. 

In the beautiful room, Dean finally gives in to temptation and picks up a burger when Cas arrives, spins him around, and pins him to the wall. 

For Mark Me Down as Scared and Horny Science:

Cas pulls out a knife, cuts his forearm, and inscribes a sigil on the wall with his own blood. When Zachariah shows up, pissed off, Cas blasts Zachariah away. 

Cas tells Dean that they’re heading off to stop Sam from killing Lilith who (surprise!) is the final seal. When she dies, Lucifer pops out like a dancer in a birthday cake. 

Cut to Chuck, who’s pacing around his house ordering women on the phone. EXTREME SIDE EYE. Dean and Cas flap in, looking for answers. 

At the convent, Lilith holds court when Sam arrives. The lesser demons fall insta-dead while Lilith closes the doors to her chamber. Dun dun DUN!

Chuck hands over information on Sam’s showdown with Lilith to Cas. “You’re not in this story,” Chuck says accusingly to Cas. 

“We’re making it up as we go,” Cas says. 

Chuck’s house starts to rattle. An archangel is descending to nip this little angelic rebellion right in the bud. Castiel vows to “hold them all off.” He zaps Dean to the convent and awaits the approach of the archangel.

Sam makes his way into Lilith’s chamber and pins her to the altar with his mind mojo when Dean arrives on the scene. Ruby smirks at Dean before slamming the doors shut between the two brothers. Sam burns Lilith out with his fancy demon-blood powers while Dean shouts through the door and Ruby screams at him to finish the job. Lilith laughs at Sam, mocking him for his hesitation, and that’s what does it. Sam kills her with demon-black eyes. 

Lilith’s blood seeps across the floor like it’s on a mission. Actually, it IS on a mission. It oozes into a circle. Ruby’s ecstatic and tells Sam that he opened the door for Lucifer. She may have been hated by demons for her apparent betrayal but “I was the best of those sons of bitches,” Ruby insists. “The most loyal.” Sam tries to pin what just happened on Ruby but she throws it right back at him. His choices brought him to this point. She just gave him the options. Horrified, Sam asks why he was the one to unleash Lucifer. “Because it had to be you, Sam.” OUCH. 

Dean breaks through the doors at last and storms over. Sam grabs Ruby so Dean can stab her. Hooray! They’re working together again! And then the cage starts to open. WHERPS. Sam apologizes futilely as the room fills with impossibly bright light. Lucifer’s on his way out.

I’m back ! :D

Hey everyone ! I’m back and I finally marathoned s7 ! What a ride !!!!

I loved it. We’re at that part of the story where we finally get answers to our questions, some that we’ve been having since sooo long. And it feels so good (even when the answers hurt ; still closure !).

I loved the development for the story, and for the characters, they all grew so much ?! Including side characters getting really cool arks ? There is such a HUGE cast now, and everyone is so interesting and gets their moments ?!

I was really on the edge of my sit the entire season. The stakes were really high, and it was also such an emotional roller-coaster omg.

For now, let me just go back to all my questions and hopes  for this season !

Because so much were met, I’m so happy !!!

And... let’s put that under a read more, because it is LONG.

Here are just quotes from that post I made about what I was excited for in s7 (it was before SDCC and any trailer / articles etc, based on s6 only (and that one quote from Kimberley Brooks) : 

So much has changed, with new members on the team (Krolia, Romelle), Keith back, Shiro back in his own way : everyone will have to reconnect a little / find their place. 

They totally did, it was particularly explored in “The journey within” where they finally talked about and worked through a lot of stuff, but we saw it in the entire season ! I really like that they got to discuss some stuff like the impact of Keith leaving, and Keith questioning their friendship. Also, reconnecting / bonding with Galaxy Garrison characters as well ! And even bonding more with their lions !!!

Specially, what’s going to happen with Shiro ? We’ve had this thing with the White Lion, and Josh Keaton’s latest answer at Florida Supercon makes about Kuron and Shiro makes me really curious. And will Shiro get a new altean or olkari arm ?

Wow, I loved Shiro’s development, he was so amazing. I was right to trust the show writers when everyone was freaking out about him not piloting a lion anymore. And he did get an altean arm !!!

edit - OH ! I forgott to add him being canonically mlm and chronically ill ? Blew my mind ?! I loved it. It feels the SDCC was so long ago already, but it is, indeed, s7 content too !!!!

No Castle ship anymore, so the whole journey will have very different vibes I’m sure. Longer journey, less distractions, everyone in their respective lions… Kind of hoping for a bit of a roadmovie vibe maybe ?

Oh, absolutely. Loved the little slice of life moments. That part with “who goes in which lion and what do we do with the pets” was so cute lol.

Will the “long sleep” spoiler Kimberley let slip happen then ? Will they need to go in cryosleep for the journey ? Or is it something else entirely ?

Sooo... was it about the time skip between s6 and s7 ? It didn’t feel like them sleeping...

Going back to Earth, how will that turn out ? Will they have prepared for the wars thanks to Sam’s warning ? Will the Galaxy Garrison have attempted to silence Sam ? Is Colleen up to something ? How will Earth react to Voltron and the War in general ? Will Earth already be under attack or become under attack ? I suspect Sendak has that in mind or will think of it soon !

Weeeell. Yes they prepared, yes the Garrison attempted to silence Sam, yes Colleen absolutely got involved, yes Earth got under attack, and yes, it was Sendak’s doing !!!

And in what time frame will they come to Earth ? They have been travelling through space and we know time can do weird things. I didn’t think they would necessarily take it into account in VLD, but Keith’s and Krolia’s experience in the Quantum Abyss show they are not afraid to do it. I’m a bit worried they come home a long, long time after leaving, that could lead to some big angst for those with families back on Earth (*squints at the Garrison Trio*). But yeah big question about what Earth will be up to when they come back !

They totally did that... There was  indeed a timeskip, even if it was about them being in the rift more than theory of relativity.

At least it wasn’t as bad as I feared - I was scared they would come centuries late and their families would be long gone. We still did some family angst for Hunk and it killed me. Loved the family reunions for Lance and Pidge though.

What will be going on with the Galra Empire ? They are without Emperor again. Will Haggar somehow take the lead ? What is Haggar up to after Oriande, regaining more and more of her memories… Will someone else step up ? Will Lotor be back sooner than expected ? (Come on, I don’t believe he’s dead).

Will we hear again about the other realities ? In s6 Lotor sounded a lot like those Alteans for the other reality, and he was in the Rift…

We don’t know anything yet, aside from the Galra Empire still being divided, but what we discovered at the very end is a big clue. That mecha could be either Lotor’s doing (either with the Colony or with the alternate reality Alteans), or Haggar’s (as she knows now about the Colony through Kuron). The robots attacks being reminiscent of the Komar, I think it might be Haggar’s doing.

I expect this to be a major plot point in s8.

Oh, and what will Lotor’s generals do NOW ? Poor girls are in quite a situation here.

Oh wow I SO loved their character development ? Ezor and Zethryd were total badasses. Also, is it just me or were there major hints at them being in a relationship ?! I know I ship it !

And Acxa ?! Totally getting a redemption ark ?! I was so happy to see her and Keith fight side by side and support each other ? I’m so proud of her. Apparently she does seem to have a crush on Keith, aww. I suspect it is unrequited but he does respect her. Well, the future will tell us.

(I did spent the rest of the season going “where is Acxa ?!” though. I guess this is for s8. I’m getting very curious, because if we didn’t get answers so far, I wouldn’t be surprised if something major is coming this way. Joining the Blades or the Rebels, maybe ?).

What were the Rebels and the Blades up to during S6 ? How did they react to Voltron siding with Lotor ?

Aaaaah ! ;___; I will come back to talk about this, but I knew the Blades and Rebels would be exposed. It still broke my heart to hear about it. And quiznack !!! Voltron writers, did you have to toy with my fear for Kolivan ?!!! I’ve been worried for him since s2. I really thought this was it for him. I’m so glad he survived !

(yeah this is what worried me. Same for the entire Coalition. I’ll come back about this).

OMG more specifically I’d die to see some kind of reunion between Kolivan, Krolia and Keith. My hopes aren’t too high but DAMN. Kolivan sent them on a mission and didn’t get news of them for who knows how long, I bet he’s super worried, if he doesn’t believe them to be dead.

But it’s kind of telling that he stays with people within his comfort zone, and doesn’t seem to reach out that much to others ?

We see Lance evolving and finding his place as emotional support for the team, but Hunk is a leg too and… I think he still has room to improve ? Maybe it’s something he still has to learn and that we will see in the future ? I’d like that.

He shone so bright in “The journey within” ?! ;___; I loved him calming everyone down. Even staying completely unfazed and positive when Keith snaps at him and calls him a coward. And when Keith attempted to leave and he just grabbed his ankle and went “NO !”... I might have squeed a little. :3

Other stuff that I wished for and I got (even if I don’t necessarily made posts on it):

Keith and Shiro keeping saving each other and holding each other. More insight about their past ! Keith calling Krolia “mom” and them hugging ! Keith and Krolia mourning Keith’s father ! Romelle bonding with the team ! Positive interactions between Keith and Lance ! AND THAT KEITH & HUNK BONDING HAAAAA I wanted it since the Weblum episode and it was so good. Keith and Pidge teaming up.  Getting to know Lance’s family ! (I so love Veronica !). Flashbacks for Hunk’s family !!! Cute Pidge and Lance interactions ! More space wolf shenanigans, and we get to know his name (it was so endearing that Keith just wanted to wait until he would tell him !). SHAY COMING BACK TO HUNK !!! I had given up hope on that one after so long. More allurance cute moments.

I’m probably forgetting some stuff but...yeah. What a good season.

Favorite character: i have a lot of characters i really love in dc but no one really jumps out as my top favorite above all others…. i’m going to say selina because i love her in a lot of media and i picked up the current batman comic to read about her specifically (and then dropped them when she left lol, i’l have to pick up her solo series sometime too) 

Least Favorite character: hmmm………..i don’t know……….can i say jervis from gotham specifically? he makes my skin crawl in a very bad way and i kinda want to punch him in the face. although he also has his charming moments and i think his power-set makes for a very interesting villain hmmm. OH can i say all the various Big and Boring Cosmic Villains like Steppenwolf??? they all blur together and i just don’t care about any of them

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): selina/bruce, harley/pamela, oswald/ed, raven/beast boy, diana/steve

Character I find most attractive: diana aka wonder woman aka have my heart

A random thought: dc was my first superhero love, teen titans specifically, and that show probably laid the groundwork for what i want in my superhero teams. also i should get back to reading dc comics

An unpopular opinion: i don’t think this is unpopular exactly but the joker is overused, there are so many other good batman villains

An unpopular opinion: spider-man h*mecoming is bad and it isn’t a comics-accurate adaptation of spider-man, let alone the most accurate

My canon OTP: any of the canon ships within the ot4 - but if i had to choose just one, it’d be peter/mj. all the good comics history

when or if I started shipping it: i think it was sometime during episode 1???? i can’t remember a specific moment, it just kinda happened

my thoughts: they’re very good and it would be even more amazing for them to date now. can you imagine the ceo of atlas with the scruffy leader of a bandit gang (who also happens to be a math nerd)? SO GOOD 

What makes me happy about them: they’re best friends, they have a lot of stupid jokes between them, they very clearly would go to the end of the earth for each other

What makes me sad about them: the fear that they may never interact in bl3

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: there isn’t enough fic for me to have noticed any annoying tropes

Things I look for in fanfic: any fic in general

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: rhys/fiona

My happily ever after for them: they haven’t spoken for a while but vaughn comes along on sanctuary (idk how he ends up there, maybe he’s upset with his bandits leaving for the children of the vault) and then he hears rhys’ voice over the comm for the first time in YEARS, he could cry, he’s so happy. anyway us vault hunters help rhys out with his maliwan problem, vaughn and rhys reunite, there are tears and hugs and then they kiss and have to figure out what they want (hint: they want to be together forever but rhys has a company and vaughn has his bandits and they need to navigate that complexity - but they do and it’s awesome)

How I feel about this character: if you told me last year that i would fall in love with carol, and read everything i could with her, i probably would not have believed you. but here i am, almost caught up with the captain marvel comics and helplessly in love with her. i love her bravery, her humor, her impulsiveness, her kindness, her fight-me attitude, her determination, her cockiness - really i love everything about her and i’m inspired by her drive to be better and to protect as many people as she can (also the whole speech but especially this quote at the end of captain marvel (2012) #1: and we will be the stars we were always meant to be GETS me every time i see it, i love ambitious ladies who reach for the stars)

All the people I ship romantically with this character: carol/jess is the ultimate 616 otp while carol/maria is the ultimate mcu otp. i also like carol/rhodey and i read a ship manifesto for carol/wanda that has made me interested in learning more about them

My non-romantic OTP for this character: steve and tony, i can’t choose between her two relationships with them because they’re both so good (it might be tony??? he helped her through aa and i love their snark? but then steve and carol are also very good). also in the mcu, nick fury, their chemistry is GOLD 

My unpopular opinion about this character: i hate that so many people have started putting carol into the role of peter’s mom/aunt, not every adult that interacts with him is automatically his parental figure and she has no real reason to feel that way towards him. also they went on a couple dates in the comics and even though i don’t ship it, it’s weird to think about

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: LET HER DATE A WOMAN

My OTP: …………how could i possibly choose between carol/jess and carol/maria………….they’re both so good in different ways

My OT3: i don’t have one for her although now i’m considering whether a jess/carol/maria situation would work idk i feel like it wouldn’t just because there would be this imbalance in two of them having superpowers and maria unable to join in their superhero battles so??? idk. i need to think about it a little more
