What are your thoughts on Vi x Caitlyn?

(It seems rushed to me. I would have preferred if they went from enemies to allies in season 1, to Friends to lovers in season 2).

I like Vi and Caitlyn. I didn’t really get a lot of the romantic vibes when I watched the first season. Or not nearly as much as I was expecting for how popular I knew the ship to be. But mostly that’s because Im pretty dense and unobservant when it comes to romance in fiction as I enjoy family relationships more.

I do intend to do a second watch through of the show to pick up more on the subtle details and get another read on Caitvi.

For the first season to work they needed to start out as allies. They are both working towards the same goal of getting to Jinx though they don’t know that and for very different reasons. When the first season came out there was no guaranty off a second season, so it made sense to not wait for the Caitlyn Vi romance. Particularly when it plays into Jinx’s paranoia and therefore the devision between the sisters.

That’s for the show, for the fandom I rather like them. I won’t read a fic for them specifically but the ship featuring heavily is no deterrent to me reading a fic that has stuff I want. I do wish it didn’t overshadow the sisters relationship as much as it does but that kind of to be expected. Shipping based content is almost always more prevalent than family based stuff no matter the focus of the original source.

Little fun fact for the day, WalRuss was not my first ship. I do faintly remember how it all goes, but not when or why I started shipping Keegan and Logan (I think it started with simonxriley's one shot series, but I'm not sure. It's super great!)

I actually shipped Rorke and Logan first. Yes, I know what you're thinking "oh my gosh no!!!" "What about Elias???" "The age gap!" "They're enemies!" Them being enemies was like the whole point I think. I fell in love with the tragedy that is Gabriel Rorke's character first. His seeming undying desire to hunt Logan down and kidnap his ass, was hella gay in my eyes. Hunting another man and his older brother down, especially the way you did it Rorke, is kinda gay my dude. (Let's be real, Rorke is very gay, lmao)

So I shipped them first, enemies to lovers, Logan turning against the Ghosts with the help of Rorke being "the good guy" and being nice and caring and all this other bullshit. Also he's massive, need I say more? (And scars are sexy)

My second ship was Rorke and Elias, which I found through a Rorke/Logan fic, so there's that lol. Ghost husbands who hurt each other super bad. Give them some closure. They're tragic ASF.

I also found Merrick and Keegan through a one shot, but I haven't really actively shipped them. I do see their potential.

Finally, somehow, I forget how, must've been on one of my playthroughs or thanks to Simonxriley's one shot series on AO3, I discovered WalRuss, and they became my ship, my otp, my boys, the ones who deserved the world and so much more (Ajax x Keegan came shortly after. Honestly Keegan is also tragic losing both his boyfriends because of Rorke. Kinda gay to be stealing another man's boyfriend's Rorke. You kill the first and kidnap the second,super sus my guy.)

That's pretty much that. I also bounced around with Hesh x Merrick after that, and kinda just fuck around with all of the characters. I had a friend who shipped Logan and Kick after I got him into playing Ghosts, and I was writing a one shot for them as well that I eventually just kinda put on hold. (It's a dark one shot involving Rorke and torture, so ye.)

I don't know, I have fun seeing all of these characters, how other people ship them, and seeing how these Ghost boys all work together. I love them so much and nothing can stop me from loving these chaotically tragic little men. I love them.

I have no idea if there was a point to this post, I feel there was, but i forgot it long ago in my rant.

“How do you feel?”

That was a question Mafuyu had been asked over and over again, never with a satisfying answer. She even posed it to herself, trying desperately to understand. It didn’t work. Whether she was alone or surrounded by friends, it made no difference. She still couldn’t put a response into words.

That didn’t stop Kanade from asking, as the two sat side by side in the Sekai sharing a pair of earbuds. That didn’t stop her from composing this new song, which played gently in Mafuyu’s ear. That didn’t stop her blue eyes from gazing directly into Mafuyu’s, probing and searching for the truth.

Yet still, despite her repeated past failures, Mafuyu considered the question.

She started with the song. It was fine, she supposed. The melody flowed well enough, with a solid sense of rhythm. It was a good song, with the potential to be a great one. But that was about the structure of the piece, not her feelings.

Regardless of the structure, Kanade had made it for her. She put it on her phone and brought it to the Sekai, just so she could play it for Mafuyu. Something stirred in Mafuyu each time Kanade presented her with a song, and today was no different. Was that a feeling, a genuine feeling?

She didn’t know.

What she did know was that the brush of Kanade’s shoulder against her one was real. The tinny sound of music, so carefully crafted and composed, was real. The kick of her heart in her chest when Kanade presented her with a song was real. The feeling of Kanade’s fingers against hers when she handed Mafuyu the earbud, like a jolt or shock, was real.

None of this could be put into words.

“I’m not sure.” Mafuyu said, her unchanging expression hiding the turmoil within. “I think I like the song.”

As Kanade’s lips lifted into a sincere smile, eyes glimmering happily, Mafuyu could feel a hint of warmth in her chest.

That feeling was also real.

Just For Him

Knowing Danny's family and his time as a hero you would think that Danny would grow up having a similar job, and so did he honestly!

That was until he put on a pair of skates and stepped onto the ice.

Maybe it had something to do with his ice core that made his movements on the ice feel more natural than any other kind of ground under his feet.

Once he was on the ice he felt like a completely different person, confident in every single step, in the way he would spin and jump- using a bit of his ghostliness to gain more air time in his jumps.

The entire sensation on that ice was freeing,

invigorating,

peaceful.

It was just him and the ice under his blades.

It felt like everything in his life was for someone else, his creations his protections all of it that he would gladly give to those who need it and to his loved ones.

But when was the last time he had anything that was just for him.

For him to enjoy

For him to find unrestrained happiness from

Just for him

So no, while it was surprising to everyone around him including himself at the direction his life turned to he couldn't be happier.

He now traveled a lot for his competitions & own fun, with a very happy Ellie tagging along to support him and enjoy what the world had to offer.

forever obsessed with dynamics between vampires, specifically that of a maker and fledgling, as a way to explore abuse. the creation of a vampire itself can so easily be a literalization of the lasting impacts of trauma and also much more simply the ways a perpetrator might shape their victim’s very identity. the extremes of isolation in the way that the new vampire, in most narratives, must cut all ties to their mortal life, or else go through an elaborate charade to maintain the facade of humanity, while forever still being removed from it. and the sheer dependence and vulnerability of being in an entirely new state of being, wholly uncertain of what it entails, and relying on another person to define… everything.
