i hate seeing like. other americans who have a solid ideology but have no scope of politics outside america, so they think the "two sides" are democrats and republicans and dont realize that those are actually two right wing parties, and that actual leftism is totally different than american liberalism

yesterday i saw someone say they were a centrist because they hold leftist beliefs but own a gun, and they thought being reasonably pro-gun automatically made them more conservative. and i wanted to shake them by the shoulders and go YOU ARE LITERALLY A LEFTIST. JOIN US but i cant just do that to strangers because it would come off as trying to indoctrinate them into my political party rather than just showing them what leftism is on a global scale

#btw i dont have an opinion on gun control i think its far too nuanced a topic to really take a single stance on #i respect the hell out of minorities who own guns to protect themselves from police and bigots #but i also went through 3 school shooting threats in high school. so truly i understand why people feel both ways about it #anyway thats not the point the point is i wish more americans understood politics like. whatsoever #amygdalae

hm. I just realized how weird it was that every year in school we had to have a moment of silence on 9/11 to remember the victims, and everyone took it really seriously. But when we had a designated time set for going outside and having a few minutes for the Parkland shooting victims our teacher told us “I don’t want to see any of you leaving my class for that. You don’t even understand what you’re protesting.”

Not that I would have known where to go for it anyway. They didnt really tell us where outside we would be gathering.

I wish i had stepped out that day anyways.

We have a god damn school shooting every fucking day in this country and I couldnt even take 17 minutes one fucking time to mourn with my classmates because the gun owners would’ve felt attacked.

like theres not a lot of games im REALLY good at so when there are ones i latch on super hard. and boy have i latched on to this one

#and i think part of it is that im on console and therefore kinda at an automatic disadvantage?#like no matter what you do you still will never have as many buttons or the quick cursor movement as pc #so you have to make do with way less hotkeys and either just Way Less Weapon Options or brute force your way through them #like most ranged weapons are Ass on console aiming them is so frustrating because you cant just Put Cursor On Enemy And Track It #and grappling is so much harder too #like i have played a lot on pc too so this isnt just me going 'woe is me this must be harder' like it is So Much Harder #i had to kinda build my own key mapping from the ground up bc the defaults werent intuitive at all #except jump‚ you dont feel like having jump on a trigger makes sense and then you set it to b or a and then the next time you want to jump #while shooting youre like Ah. Its So I Dont Have To Let Go Of The Aiming Stick To Jump. and switch it back in shame #but ! all of that combined. console is so much harder. so i think my brain was like 'alright well in that case #fuck you im gonna get good at it anyways' and now we're here #also i didnt realize until recently that most people play it multiplayer???#like i looked up something i cant remember what but it was like 'if you like most others play in multiplayer-' and im like #Wait Huh.#and it said something about the bosses kind of being more scaled for multiple players and that #single player makes it harder again #so im just like. clawing my way through mud and barbed wire for fun #its funny too cause i remember the controls thing almost made me drop it again but then one day i was like #yeah they are weird as fuck controls and complicated as hell but i bet if i did it long enough i could force myself #to learn it well enough to make it instinct #and sure enough !! like the grapple button when i first set it to b it was sooo hard to use at all #forget shit like grapple dashing or grapple dodging i could barely aim it while walking #and then i realized i had to just. only use the grapple when i could be pointing the movement stick the way i needed #so i couldnt use it as often or as versatilely as pc but i can still use it to some degree #adapt achieve overcome etc i fucking love vibeo game #sorry if this is bragging or weird im just very proud of the amount of skill in this game ive built up so quick #its my one (1) thing right now #my other ones are binding of isaac (not dead god but still p fuckin good tbh *tucks hair behind ear)#splatoon (2&3 specifically salmon run)#but those ones arent really active right now

really, in this day in age if you refuse to release your movie for streaming youre actual shit and it tells me that your movie is ALSO shit.

about the "people are allowed to be cis" like i kind of get the optics & context but I do think it's important to recognize that a gender journey can end at the same place it started. Often-times it doesn't because the journey starts due to discomfort with one's gender but in my mind it's the same as questioning any other belief, it's good to do it even if you end up still holding that belief.

The 'problems' faced by cis people who have questioned their gender are not nearly as big as those experienced by trans people but it's still something that happens, particularly among people in trans communities. I think this idea also sort of intersects with the idea of people wanting representation, and the idea of somebody questioning their gender sort of implies they're going to be trans so then there can be disappointment.

Some of this is speculative, and i haven't seen the original post so maybe i'm missing something but your post really hit weird because it's not telling people they can be cis it's saying you can dip your foot in the pool of transgenderism and not go all the way in. Like obviously that's less urgent than people shooting at those in the pool but just dismissing it is kind of weird

people are told it is okay to be cis literally from the moment they are born. i dont want to be harsh but literally everything you're saying could be coming out of the mouth of a conversion therapist -- the current term used to sanitize conversion therapy in the UK is in fact "exploratory therapy". "well we shouldn't rush them into transness we should give them time to decide in case they're actually cis after all" is the #1 talking point undergirding the total annihilation of trans healthcare for young people in the UK. trans people are already told at every single step of the way that it's okay to change their minds and be cis. they are told this by parents and teachers and peers who say "it's just a phase". they are told this by media outlets panicking about """rapid-onset gender dysphoria""". they are told this over and over again by transohobic medical systems that tell them that they should think about whether maybe they're just autistic or gay or they need to have more sex. every single part of our brutally transphobic society is already screaming "IT'S OKAY TO JUST BE CIS" in everyone's ears every second they exist in it. there is never a need to add your voice to that chorus.
