5 Things You Never Get Tired of Writing

HAHA thank you for the tag, @squidgilator! This is a ridiculous thing to do when I only have two published fics—one of which is only 150 words—and two WIPs, but anything for you 😘

rules: list five things you never get tired of writing. it can be tropes, themes, characters, phrases, whatever brings you joy. then tag five people!

Proceeding to ignore the existence of my ficlet because it's nothing like the rest of my writing—

Friends to Lovers/pining. I enjoy reading Enemies to Lovers and Strangers to Lovers too, but for my own writing I'm all about complicated feelings for one of the people who knows you best.

Interiority. I think in internal monologue with no visuals, so this one's purely a reflection of how I experience the world and conceptualize a story. It also cuts down on dialogue.

Non-standard narrative structures. So far everything I've written has a nonlinear narrative, multiple POVs, or both, because I love to torture myself, no, I mean my writing process is chaotic, no, I mean I think it's interesting to explore the limitations and biases of a character's perspective.

Regret/uncertainty. My POV characters do a lot of second-guessing of themselves and their instincts, which absolutely doesn't say anything about me, and I'm here for the angst.

Atmosphere. I'm all about the ✨vibes✨ so this one is a must! I want my descriptors to add something to the story's mood.

In case it seems like every third comic has Batman in it... you're not wrong. He's been in 38.6% of DC issues since 2020, with a stark increase of 8% each decade since the 90s and surpassing Superman in popularity. Despite this, there's been a massive drop off of comics where he is teamed up with Superman or a Robin (although the amount of group team ups between Batman Family members has increased, as well as Nightwing solos).

Never will I stop with the steadfast notion that folks in the DPXDC fandom should interact with at least some form of canon DC media.

There are comics, tv shows, radio dramas both old and new, podcasts, movies, magazines, so much shit that intentionally avoiding the media is simply preventing yourself from spawning new ideas and gaining a new appreciation for a fandom that you’re already in.

The Superman Radio Show has episodes 11 minutes long. A lot of the TV shows don’t have episodes that surpass 30 minutes and most are nearly fully clipped on the official DC YouTube channel. The amount of fan made motion comics is astounding. The amount of fanmade animations is equally as incredible.

by far the best reaction to john lennon's death was george getting all irritated with him like "idiot should've been more prepared to die. good luck putting your spirit at rest now🙄🙄". and the reason its so funny is because, given the numerous ghost encounters even just between the three remaining beatles, by all accounts george was right
