I decided to try Sita’s since it’s closer than my usual threading studio. I didn’t have an appointment and there wasn’t a wait (there’s usually a wait at the place I normally go to). I think Sita did my brows. She had a gentle touch which I appreciated and she worked quickly, trimming my brows and massaging them with aloe at the end. It was $15 for cash and $1 extra for credit card payments.

Sita’s is in a strip mall with its own parking. Walk-ins are welcome. It’s not a fancy place but it looked clean and had Indian-inspired décor.

Other services include threading for the entire face, arm pits, neck, etc. Tinting is also available.

The place I go to is a bit cheaper and also they have a rewards program. It’s pretty similar to Sita’s.

With the next Holiday comic in the works, I needed to make a floorplan and concept art of Motti's studio. Since her place is quite small it'll help conceptualize the panels and give me the general idea how to make the compositions more readable.

After a few more moments, and another small thump or two, Builderman is up at the door, which.. Is opened, closed in very clear surprise, then opened again, with a very incredulous looking man on the other side, eyes very wide. That's.... Not 1x4. Good. Alright. Uh! New face! He clears his throat, and properly opens the door, looking faintly sheepish.

"I uh.. Howdy? Sorry t'close th'door on ya, I ah.. Y'look like someone else, no offence."

I need people to see the bigger picture when it comes to Nolan's Odyssey. The studio is funded by his company but also by Universal studios, which is owned by Comcast.

Comcast, through Universal Pictures, has a massive influence on global cinema, twisting narratives to fit Westernized storytelling and mass appeal.

With Odyssey, Nolan aims to recreate Oppenheimer’s success while distorting Greek mythology, turning a rich cultural heritage into a commercialized spectacle. This isn't new! Hollywood has a history of appropriating stories, stripping them of authenticity to fit its blockbuster formula. Audiences need to wake up and realize that by funding these films, they enable corporations like Comcast to rewrite history for profit. If Nolan’s Odyssey truly values Greek mythology, it would reinvest in Greek culture, not just cash in on it.

Nothing in this industry is just an action silly film many want you to believe. Because many see the surface levels of flashy action and nice effects, don't see the depth the corruption and disrespect this industry has influenced the masses to always come on top from the shadows.

I never understood why people were complaining about the episodic nature of link click disappearing for season 2. I get it if you prefer s1 over s2, I do as well while enjoying both seasons. But in terms of the format switch, what were people expecting after that s1 finale? We cannot go back to status quo after that. If Lu Guang died, we definitely wouldn’t and as he lived what did you think was gonna happen? ‘Well Qiao Ling got possessed and stabbed Lu Guang that was an experience. Time to go find client #52’.

I think people have a really strong attachment to season 1. Makes sense as it’s all they had for 2 years and for me, I didn’t wait for episodes. I watched s1, took a 4 day mental health break, and dove right into s2. But it was obvious season 1 served as an introduction and that there would be a larger plot at play. You can debate whether the show becoming really popular in China made them include more action scenes and raise it to a thriller. But something like CXS’ missing parents or Lu Guang looping time to save Cheng Xiaoshi was planned from the beginning. It had to be so link click was always going to get more dramatic.

And I don’t agree with the stance that link click lost its emotional core. It’s simply interwoven into the overarching plot instead of self-contained stories. Preferences are valid and understandable but I wish more fans would try to evaluate s2 from a rational standpoint. There are complaints I agree with but a lot sound kinda dumb to me.

Do you think the downfall of Rooster Teeth was preventable?

I wouldn't say preventable, but unnecessary/unfair. Rooster Teeth has always done its own thing and experiencing a lull in viewership was something I think it could have survived, but Warner Bros decided that it wasn't worth it because it was making them slightly less money than before. Just big companies being big companies I guess.

WIP (late) Friday!

Working on some Elek-related art and fic stuff lately and today I got inspired to work on the back tattoo design I have in mind for him.

He's been in the Threads for awhile. He's loyal and has at least some level of leadership since he's important enough to know Makal and presumably do things for him at times. So, I kind of headcanon that the Threads, and other Minrathous crime organizations, would have elaborate tattoos — especially for those higher up.

And why wouldn't those tattoos be visually inspired by thread and embroidery?

So, this is a first draft of sorts for the part of his tattoo that runs down his spine. I also envision a set of paired shoulder blade tattoos and another set that run down the backs of his biceps, but those will be worked on later.

I'm not 100% settled on the colors just yet (that's the part that is the most TBD here) but I like them. I just haven't dialed it in just yet.

But yeah. Figured I'd share the work in progress thus far.
