Two face birthday, the Fenton Ghost Catcher tm and bats

The Fenton parents decided that to finance their new series of inventions, they were going to sell some of their inventions that they ultimately never used (and that the GiW does not want) on an inventor auction site… the most part of their invention is sold for almost nothing but the Fentons were committed to selling whatever the price, so… they must find other ways to earn money easily… maybe a fudge sale !

Two face managed to get his hands on the Fenton Ghost Catcher tm. OK, the other rogues give him a kind of tasteless gag gift for his birthday.

Except it works! Two-Face and harvey are free from each other!!! Two-Face remains in place but suffice to say that harvey went to celebrate with his best friend bruce who decided the best idea to have the machine studied by his company, Harvey therefore gives the location

So the Fenton Ghost Catcher tm ends up at the batcave that same evening

But after an argument and shoving, several members of the batfam go through the Fenton Ghost Catcher tm and the Fenton Ghost Catcher tm works for some of them as well and in the accident the machine is damaged

Cerize on the cake, harvey WITH Two-Face comes back the next day because they both feel sick…

They must urgently find out who the Fenton(s) are

i wanted this video to be a really comprehensive dive into both leckie’s and sledge’s arcs, which meant including the particularly horrible parts of the war: namely the dehumanization of japanese people, the way the marines used that dehumanization to justify their actions, and how it eroded their own humanity in turn. as such, i included a lot of elements of the show that i wouldn’t normally put into a video and that i don’t often see in visual fanworks, so i wanted to content warn accordingly. this video includes (in addition to the usual canon-typical violence and discussion of ptsd):

To me, Machete kind of has the energy of a secondary villain/coldhearted side character in someone else's story that a lot of fans latch onto, moreso than the protagonist. Question is, would he be the villain in anyone's story?

Why, thank you! I'm actually glad to hear he gives off that vibe. I don't think he set out to become a villain but a lot of people certainly view him as one.

But I love how you made him feel more comfortable sleeping on the hard floor, cuz it does make you feel grounded when you're that damn traumatized. I, too understand the need for neurotic floor time, Donnie...

it's actually something he does because of the laundry room :( it grounds him and it doesnt,,, because its definitely a response to him feeling unsafe. he spent an ambiguous amount of time just laying on the cold hard floor dissociating. in the closet, too. it's a mix of that and the fear that he doesn't "deserve" soft, pleasant things, and him not even wanting to develop attachment because his room was ransacked... it's unfamiliar and sometimes just too much.

he'll go to the laundry room if its really bad, even in the new lair, but otherwise he'll just sleep on the floor of his own... and there's really no way to stop him, but it's one of the biggest reasons they regularly went to stay with him in cw, outside of the night terrors. it wasn't good on his body when he was recovering. he doesn't do it as much but there's a billion little things to overcome in his recovery that just wax and wane depending on his mindset. all they can really do is try to make it comfortable for him.

Was remembering the Neapolitan Novels yesterday and it immediately hit me the scene where Elena finds her child and Lila's having sex and ponders whether she'd wanted to do the same with her growing up, and how she didn't out of fear of punishment. And just... the ease with which she admits this and then moves on like it's nothing, maybe because there's nothing she can do anymore? How her wish to make a life together with Lila, whether romantic or platonic, couldn't happen due to their circumstances and now they have to look at each other across a forked path?

And yet, despite Lila's physical absence at her side, she's right there in every word Elena writes. Because writing is the space where the two of them come together, whether they intended it or not. First as a shared dream of advancing in life, later as a tool Elena uses to try to hold on to a desired form of herself (a form close to Lila's, whose writing she admires, and far from everything she rejects about her hometown, so she can avoid repeating what her mother came to be), writing is presented as possibility of transforming themselves that's different, and preferable, to sexual reproduction.

It's also a chance to rescue an untold experience, as Lila's writing inadvertently shapes hers, even when Lila is deprived of her own voice and becomes unable to follow her on that path. A part of Lila always remains and seeps into Elena's narrative voice even if she's never able to fully grasp Lila and figure her out. Revisiting her own writing, she cannot deny the terrifying hold Lila's existence has on hers. At the end of her narration, it's an entire life that she has spent by her side, regardless of either of them has realized it. Even when Lila is reduced to being Stefano's wife or a voice on the phone. Even when she seems to have succeeded in her goal of dissolving all boundaries and disappearing completely, her writing survives in a way that permeates and exists in Elena's writing and that she prolongs in the creation of a story that combines the voices of both, even snatching her from disappearance.

Chemtrail - Day 28

Most demons throughout the SMT series are mythological beings, cryptids, historical figures, or just plain demons, but sometimes, they like to experiment. Sometimes, they make demons like the subject of today's Demon Spotlight, Chemtrail- a demon not based upon a historical account nor a religious belief, but rather, based on a conspiracy theory.

The idea of chemtrails originates in 1996, particularly from a report published by the US army regarding the idea of weather modification being used in warfare- as the conspiracy goes, the trails of condensation left behind by jets, known as contrails, are actually lines of chemical agents sprayed all over the public for nefarious purposes by the world elites. Many of these conspiracies blame these so-called chemtrails for things like diseases, mental illnesses, or many deaths around the globe, or even mind control by the elites to keep a populace subservient to their overlords.

Later in the 2000’s, the report was revealed to be a hoax, though many were left unconvinced by that turn, and chemtrails are still a widely held belief in conspiracy-laden circles of the United States. Many debunks have come out to explain what the trails in the sky truly are, that being trails of condensation left behind as water vapor in the jet's engine combines with the dry ambient temperature of the sky, though many remain unconvinced. The belief in chemtrails is surprisingly common, even to this day, though I suppose that is to be expected. You give someone in the bible belt a reason to hate the way the world is without blaming capitalism, and they'll snatch it up like a fish does bait.

Commentary aside, the conspiracy of chemtrails still retains relevance in pop culture, commonly cited as a ridiculous example of the conspiratorial beliefs of many people. However, while I personally doubt the existence of chemtrails, as do many others, the idea does have some credence to it- crimes like Agent Orange have given real weight and truth to the idea of world governments spraying chemicals down onto countries. However, given that this is a literal war crime, I'd hope that the US doesn't do that to their own citizens? But I wouldn't put it above them. Sorry to get a bit political, but it's somewhat unavoidable with this topic.

Segwaying back to SMT, though, I'm more surprised by the fact of the matter that this demon exists. It really just goes to show that, throughout the series, anything can be a demon- whether it be folklore, history, mythology, or anything in between, Chemtrail really feels like an example of both the experimentation that took place during IV, as well as being a testament to how widespread the moniker of demon truly is throughout the series. Anything can be a demon, as long as people believe in it, and that's oddly touching.

I don't know why it's a fiend, though. The idea of chemtrails being a skeleton brings up more questions than answers.

Tectonic Plates - Time Travel AU

I saw this post and it made me think of something.

Okay, so going back to the idea of Iñaki being an accidental time traveler stuck in 1890 and seeing a picture of Sebastian's lookout point in Feldcroft made me thing of something funny. Iñaki being from the future (late naught/2000s) knows about tectonic plates might mention on an off comment as a fun fact about the Highlands...of and it isn't until after she starts explaining to Sebastian about Tectonic plates....she realizes she runs into a new problem being stuck in the past.

Iñaki: ...In fact, the Appalachian Mountains were once part of the same mountain ranges as the Scottish Highlands. It's the reason why a number of Scot-Irish immigrants settled in that region - aside from the cheap land, the place reminded them of home like what you see here in the Highlands. 🤓 *Iñaki smiles as she stares at the scenery* it also reminds me of home when I would go on hikes by the Hudson River. 🥹

Sebastian: Huh, that makes sense. 🤔 So in what year did this Alfred Wegener made this theory? 🧐🤓

Iñaki: He proposed the theory in 19- 😃😐🫤 *Freezes when she realizes she's about to spoil a future event (Alfred Wegener proposed the theory in 1912)* ...or was 25 years ago...umm...I'm not sure...I tend to forget small details like that after an exam hahah....🙃😅😓

Sebastian: *knowing Iñaki doesn't forget small details*��

....

Years later after Iñaki has mysteriously vanished (and Sebastian was unable to find her despite his best efforts) in the Year 1912, a 37 year old Sebastian reads the muggle newspaper and finds an article about the new Tectonic Plate theory.

Sebastian: How is this news? 🤨 Iñaki told me about the guy being in her his...tory....exam....wait a minute! 😶😐🫤😳

Meanwhile in the future:

Iñaki: Why do I get the feeling I need to go back in time and obliviate Sebastian? 😑

...

Meanwhile in the year 1912:

Sebastian: Ominis I'm telling you, Iñaki didn't go missing! She's from the future! My best friend still alive somewhere out there! 😃🤩 She told me about Alfred Wegener and tectonic plates before it was a thing!

Ominis: I thought we agreed she was secretly a seer! That makes more sense then for her to be a TIME TRAVELER! 😩Sebastian, this is the opposite of making peace with her disappearance! 😤🥺😢

Sebastian: She's Time Traveler! That's why we could never find her nor find any records of her in the States! 🤩

Ominis: Why would a time traveler even want to meet us? You're overthinking it Sebastian! 😩

Sebastian: She also said to not get on some ship called the Titanic. Remember how it sank earlier in the year? Back in April? She's a time traveler! 🤩

Ominis: Sebastian please.😩SHE. IS. SECRETLY. A. SEER! 😭
