The yawn stretched Lena’s jaw to the point that she felt like a cat, baring her fangs. Naturally, it prompted a Kara Danvers Pout, which was utterly devastating. Kara looked at her over the top of her drink cup, straw still pursed in her delicate pink lips as she frowned slightly.
“How long have you been awake?”
“I had a half hour nap this morning,” Lena sighed.
She’d been in the office for three days, but she didn’t admit that.
“Leeeenaaaaaaa,” Kara said, drawing her name out into a gentle rebuke. “You promised me you’d stop doing that to yourself. I’m taking you home.”
Lena’s heart skipped and Kara abruptly jerked upright, briefly glancing at her. Lena hated when that happened, when her body betrayed her. Kara meant escort her home; Lena’s thoroughly tired mind had supplied another scenario, one where Kara carried her onto the bed, relieved her of her clothes and dove between her legs, but that was never going to happen. Lena let out a long sigh of resignation, trying to be satisfied with best-friendship.
She hoped Kara hadn’t suddenly developed telepathy.
If you took me home I’d never leave. I could make love to you for a hundred years.
Kara smiled back at Lena’s wistful look. “I mean it.”
“Okay. I can come back to it tomorrow. Besides, I’m too full of grease and cheese to stay awake. Should we…”
Lena never finished her sentence. There was a crackle in the air, a sudden wet smell of ozone, and the thunderous boom that made her ears ring.
Kara flashed in front of her at super-speed, yanking off her glasses and tossing them on the couch in a smooth motion.
Hovering in the middle of her office was some ramshackle contraption resembling a mechanical eye about the size of a basketball that scanned Kara with a faint purple energy ray.
“Kara Danvers. Supergirl. I am Zeglos, Regent of the Alotian Republic. I am calling to you from the home of my people, located in what is to you a subatomic realm we call Universe Q. We need your help, you are our only hope. The invaders are slaughtering us and razing our home. There is no time.”
Kara glanced back at Lena. “I’ll help if I can. Let me-“
“There is no time. You must come with me now.”
“Wait, hold on a second-“
The machine flashed, thrumming as it powered up, and blasted here with a wave of light that surrounded them both, and then in a crackling boom they both vanished, leaving behind the ozone smell and a faint impression of Kara’s boot heels in the carpet.
Lena stared into the empty space for a moment, then shot to her feet, snatching the phone off her desk, where it had lain ignored since Kara walked into the room.
She called Alex, shocked at the blubbering panic in her own voice. Within a few minutes, everyone was there, piling into the room. Lena warded them off from the spot where Kara had stood. Alex was cold and calm, her voice clinical, and she immediately began issuing orders. J’onn took Lena aside and gently asked her probing questions in the manner of an old detective, coaxing every meager detail of the event out of her.
Within half an hour, Brainy and Lena had set up all sorts of equipment around the room, scanning, hoping to find some energy signature or other clue that could enable them to bring Kara back from wherever she’d been taken.
It proved fruitless. They tried everything.
Minutes stretched into hours. Lena was exhausted, heavy with fatigue.
“Go home, get some sleep,” said Alex. “We can’t help her if we pass out on the floor.”
“I’ll sleep here.”
She did, throwing a thin blanket over herself on the couch. It was Alex, not Lena, who cleaned up the Big Belly Burger mess. Lena slept fitfully, showered in the en-suite attached to her office, and changed into an old hoodie that she kept there and wore when no one was looking.
It wasn’t hers. Threadbare, a maroon color faded to a soft red, the back still emblazoned with a cracked and fading Midvale Mathletes Club logo, it was Kara’s. Lena had snatched it from Kara’s sofa and put it on one night when she was feeling bold and then, as now, felt surrounded by it, the oversized garment swaddling her.
And it smelled like Kara, just enough. Kara had stared at her intently for a moment when she took it that night but said nothing, a wistful sad look on her face before the moment was broken by Wynn’s bad joke at the table. Wynn was gone now, but the hoodie remained, just as it had remained when they were fighting, when she thought she’d never see Kara again. She’d worn it then and cried herself to sleep in it.
Just like now.
A day became two. Then three. Five. Lena tried everything, pursued every theory. They called in every favor, human and alien. Brainy tried to send messages to the future. Nia dreamed fruitless dreams. Alex paced like a caged animal and Kelly kept the peace, keeping them all fed, making sure everyone slept, talking things out whenever tempers flared.
Nothing worked.
Lena even tried praying, something she hadn’t done since the last time she was in a small church in Ireland. It didn’t work this time, either.
Lena was seated next to Brainy on the couch, going over a design for a new device to try to follow what was by now a thoroughly cold trail. Alex stood at the balcony door, staring out into a slashing summer rain squall that buffeted the glass with distant thunder and gusts of wind.
The ozone smell tickled Lena’s nose and she looked up, just as Kara took a stumbling step out of nowhere, appearing in her office with an utterly bewildered look on her face.
“Kara?”
Alex snapped round, adding her voice to the chorus. “Kara?”
Kara stared at her sister, open-mouthed, tears welling in her eyes.
“Alex?” she said. “Alex, you’re alive? How is that possible?”
“Alive? Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Kara!” Lena cried, her voice ragged in her throat.
At the sound of her voice, Kara snapped around, eyes wide. Her knees buckled and she sagged, almost falling. She stumbled forward as Lena stood and they fell into each other, Lena hurling herself, reckless, into an embrace that revealed too much. She almost climbed Kara, all but throwing her legs around her as well as her arms as she buried her face in the Kryptonian’s neck.
“Oh God. Oh Rao. I thought you would all be gone. I begged them to let me leave but they wouldn’t let me go, I had to…”
“Kara?” Alex asked, cautiously. “Why would we be gone?”
Kara barely seemed to hear her as she gently twined her fingers in Lena’s hair and wrapped her powerful arm around Lena’s waist, encircling and shielding her.
“How long has it been?”
“About a week,” Lena choked out. “I was so scared.”
“A week?” Kara blurted. “It’s only been a week here?”
Alex put a reassuring hand on Kara’s back, standing next to them. “Yeah, you were taken on Tuesday, kiddo. It’s Wednesday, the 17th.”
Kara stared past Lena, resting her chin on the shorter woman’s head, and began to sob with relief.
“Kara?” said Alex.
“Time dilation,” said Brainy.
“They told me time would pass slower up here but I didn’t believe them. I’ve been gone for… for…”
“It’s okay, Kara,” Lena whispered. “You’re okay, you’re back.”
“Eighty seven years, four months, and eighteen days,” Kara sobbed. “It’s been so long, I thought you were all dead.”
Alex stiffened. “Kara. Oh my God.”
Kara buried her face in Lena’s hair and breathed her in, shuddering. “I’d given up. All that kept me going was hoping I could see you again. This is a gift. A gift. I love you all so much.”
Kara still held her, rocking slightly, her big shoulders shaking with powerful sobs.
“Kara,” Lena whispered. “Kara, it’s okay.”
“I love you,” Kara blurted. “I love you. It’s okay if you don’t love me back, I just need to tell you, I have to tell you. All I could think about down there is how stupid I was and how stupid I’ve been and how none of the reasons I never told you made any sense,” she sucked in a breath as if she’d briefly forgotten how, “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
There could be no mistaking her intent. She seethed with it, it radiated from her very bones. Lena hugged her hard, crushing her with all her might as if to crawl inside her.
“God, Kara, I’ve dreamed of hearing you say that. I love you too. Let’s… mmmph!”
Kara was kissing her. Lena’s brain briefly froze, then she realized the full magnitude of what was happening. Kara was kissing her. Kara was kissing her. Then Lena was kissing her back. There was so much in it, need and lust and adoration and an unbelievable desperation, but above all love. Lena felt her heart open as if hadn’t in a long time, like a flower unfolding to receive the nurturing warmth of morning sun.
“I’ve been waiting for this for so long,” Kara whispered when they finally broke and Lena again could breathe.
“Let me take you home,” said Lena.

Pisces ♓ and Time Dilation

Pisces is not only about artwork, escapism, or sensuality; it is also about time dilation. When you experience spiritual enlightenment, or Kundalini, your soul and consciousness are transported to a separate time warp. That is how Shamans can meditate for several years because they enter a whole new time and space, where they either mature much faster or much slower for Earth. They might just spend 30 minutes in another dimension, but when they come back on earth, it's already been 300 years, and so they decide to take rebirth on their own merits.
This also relates to the narrative of Revati (Pisces constellation, Zeta Piscium), in which Revati and her father travel to heaven utilising divine mystic powers, but a millennium has passed by the time they return to Earth.

Second thoughts on malevolent:
The Scratch storyline was very interesting to me, both the weird gender alignment of the creature and the arthur-oscar-john interaction.
But What got me was different: how could Arthur in 1930 be that confortable with the concept of time dilation? Wasn’t relativity discovered like 6 minute prior?
So, general relativity was published in like 1915, so it could be resonable that Arthur would be okay with the idea of time dilating. It could be reasonable as long as the idea has had the time to trickle down into general knowledge.
But this got me thinking: in the first episodio John introduces Arthur to the Idea of multiple parallel Universes. And Arthur just. Accepts it in like 5 minutes.
Multiverse theory is from the late 1950s thought, as a consequence of quantum mechanics. Then it slowly started to show up in science fiction and gradually got to be a concept known by the general pubblic.
But in the 1930s Arthur had never before imagined anything of the sort and just accepted the overwhelming concept of multiple infinitely big universes. No questions asked, just cool with him i guess.
My personal headcanon is that he is just like that. Gods and monsters in parallel universes ? Okay, cool, got bigger problems on my hands

In thinking about the upcoming new year, I was also thinking about how they really do seem to zip by faster and faster the further along we go. Especially from when were were still in school. I don't often draw "pre-transition me", but to do childhood flashbacks, It's kinda a must. Admittedly, the "bucket-hat" era of my youth was a little later than grade school, but it happened. I tried HATS for a while as ways to establish anything as an identity other than what I already had figured out, but that's a story in and of itself. ;)

[Announcement!]
Good morning, evening, or night!
I want to take this moment to tell you guys about why I won't be active in the following weeks (at least posting my own content, you still will see re-blogs here and there). Here goes:
I will go on a two week, or longer, hiatus.
Now, it isn't because of lack of inspiration, or not feeling in the mood to write, in fact it's the opposite. And, because of this, I have been ignoring and half-doing my assignments, not studying for finals, and not working on final projects for college. In other words: I have neglected my responsibilities as a college student. This is why I want to take a break and not post.
This semester ends in two weeks, hence the two week break, but I might take longer because once I finish all of those grueling and uninteresting assignments, I will jump back up and write and draw as my heart contents; I want to sit back and build up story ideas for the ones I'm currently working on, and new concepts for future stories (both fanfiction and original works).
I also plan on making an event in which you can partake on during January. I want this event to include all of the stories featured on my Master-list and maybe even a few new things to try out. It might take sometime of both brainstorming and trial-and-error to decide the best event for all of us to enjoy.
If you have any suggestions, both my inbox and this comment section are happy to hear them.
Disclaimer: I MIGHT post something during this two weeks but it won't be the dictator of my return. In case the event is seen as too complex, given the amount of fandoms involved, I will take a few off and focus on the main ones. You guys props won't be seeing me until the end of December, though all this depends on my speed to create and write the event and plot for the stories.

Black Holes Don’t Break Physics—They Fold It
What If a Black Hole Isn’t Breaking the Laws of Physics—Just Folding Them?
Physicists often say that the laws of physics “break down” inside a black hole—a region of space so extreme that our current models fail to describe it accurately.
At the center, the so-called singularity, our models stop working: the math explodes into infinities, the equations unravel, and general relativity crashes into quantum mechanics with no clear resolution.
But what if nothing is actually “breaking down”?
What if the problem is that we’re using the wrong kind of geometry to understand what’s really going on? What if what we call paradox is just recursion we haven’t yet resolved?
Most of our tools for thinking about space are rooted in Euclidean geometry—flat surfaces, straight lines, familiar angles. This works just fine when describing everyday phenomena. But space-time isn’t flat. It’s curved. It’s dynamic. It’s four-dimensional.
So when you approach something like a black hole—an intense warp in the four-dimensional brane of space-time—you’re not dealing with a rupture in the laws of physics.
You’re dealing with a non-Euclidean geometric structure.
One that folds, twists, and inverts itself through dimensions we barely understand.
This post explores a simple idea—
Maybe black holes aren’t paradoxes. Maybe we just haven’t learned how to look at them sideways yet.
What Does It Mean to Be Four-Dimensional?
To understand what a black hole might really be, we have to stretch beyond our default perception of space.
In three dimensions, we understand objects as having height, width, and depth. A cube, for example, is made up of flat, 2D square faces arranged in a way that gives it volume.
But a four-dimensional object isn’t just a cube with more sides. It’s an entity whose geometry is fundamentally different—one that recursively folds in and out of itself in ways that challenge our sense of inside and outside, before and after.
In non-Euclidean, four-dimensional geometry, space doesn’t unfold linearly. It layers. It interweaves. It can simultaneously expand and contract, curve back through itself, or nest its own boundaries inside other boundaries.
The fourth spatial dimension introduces a new degree of freedom—a way to move through time as if it were space, to view an object not just at one moment, but across its entire temporal unfolding.
Black Holes Are Not Singularities—They’re Dimensional Funnels
While black holes are often described as places where the laws of physics “break down,” perhaps that breakdown is only perceptual—an artifact of interpreting higher-dimensional structures through a limited Euclidean lens. What if it’s not a failure of physics—but a limitation of our three-dimensional mathematics trying to interpret a four-dimensional geometric structure?
To understand this, we need to think in terms of dimensions. Our experience of reality unfolds across three spatial dimensions and one temporal dimension. But in Einstein’s theory of general relativity, time isn’t a separate backdrop—it’s compacted into the spatial dimensions, twisted and curved by the presence of mass and energy. This entangled 4D structure is what we call spacetime. When spacetime bends far enough, it creates a black hole—not as a tear in the fabric of physics, but as a torsional pinch in four dimensions.
As you approach a black hole, you begin to lose dimensional freedom. Far from the event horizon, you can move freely through space and experience time in a linear way. But the closer you get, the more time slows. This is gravitational time dilation. Eventually, near the event horizon, your motion through space becomes increasingly one-directional—you fall inward, unable to escape. At the horizon, spatial dimensions compress, collapsing your freedom of motion into a more limited, two-dimensional surface.
And beyond that? To grasp what comes next, we have to think of dimensional compression not as destruction, but as a structured reduction of freedom: Spaghettification—the stretching of matter into a near-one-dimensional strand, torn apart by tidal forces. You could interpret this as reality condensing further—a collapse from 3D structure into a 1D line of atomic information, racing toward what we call the singularity. At that point, even atoms eventually unravel into quantum structures and then into pure energy, pure information—data without form.
From this perspective, a black hole doesn’t destroy physics. It expresses physics beyond our dimensional limitations. It’s not a “thing”—it’s a funnel, a recursive twist where dimensional structures fold in on themselves until what we perceive as matter, time, and space compact into higher-order resolution.
From Collapse to Creation: What If Our Universe Is Inside a Black Hole?
If black holes are not violations of physics but extreme expressions of it—dimensional funnels that compress reality into recursive geometries—then we can begin to ask a much stranger question:
What if we’re inside one?
This might sound like science fiction, but it’s a serious hypothesis held by some physicists. The idea is that our universe may not be a standalone structure but a nested geometry—the interior of a black hole in a larger parent universe. But how could that be, if we appear to live in a universe that is expanding, not collapsing?
Here’s the twist: if black holes compress dimensional structure as you fall inward, then a white hole could be seen as the reverse—a dimensional unfolding where space, time, and information are released rather than compacted. And the moment we call the Big Bang—that infinitesimal singularity erupting into space and time—bears all the hallmarks of such an unfolding.
To truly understand this, we need to move beyond linear geometry and embrace the nature of non-Euclidean, four-dimensional structure. A 4D object doesn’t just expand like a balloon—it folds in and out of itself recursively, in ways that defy our flat, sequential intuition. This means the Big Bang didn’t just begin time. It may still be occurring, as a continual unfurling of spacetime nested within a deeper structure—the black hole that birthed it.
If time is compacted into space—as Einstein’s relativity shows us—then this compaction could be evidence of a higher-order fold. Just as matter falls into a black hole and loses dimensional freedom, our universe may be the result of an inverse process: a torsional expansion where dimensional freedom increases outward from a central pinch point.
In other words, we are not watching the universe expand into emptiness. We may be watching it unfold through the torsional aperture of a white hole, nested inside a higher-dimensional parent geometry.
The Geometry of Time: Unfolding the White Hole
If our universe is nested within a white hole—an object that releases space, time, and information—then our relationship to time is not linear, but dimensional.
In our current framework, time appears compacted within the three spatial dimensions. That’s why we only experience it as flowing in one direction: away from the white hole. From inside, time behaves like a one-way river, because we are witnessing a partial dimensional unfolding. But what if we could step outside?
If you could observe this structure from a fifth-dimensional vantage point, time would gain a new degree of freedom—just like space does when you move from two to three dimensions. What was once a linear flow becomes a navigable field.
From that perspective, the white hole and the black hole would no longer be separate events. They are not opposites, but recursive echoes—each folding the other into being. They would appear as a single, toroidal structure—a recursive loop of collapse and release, folding inward and outward in non-Euclidean motion.
To visualize this, imagine the arrow of time as a Mobius strip. From within, you think you’re walking forward. But as the strip turns, you find yourself walking “backward” without ever making a turn. It’s not that time reversed—it’s that the structure twisted. This is the paradox of torsional geometry: it doesn’t violate logic, it simply transcends flat intuition.
This is where many interpretations of black holes assume the laws of physics “break down.” But perhaps what’s breaking is not the physics—but the assumptions that physics must always obey Euclidean logic. Euclidean geometry works in flat space. But space-time is curved, and once you enter the fourth dimension, those familiar rules no longer apply.
From the fifth dimension, a white hole isn’t simply “the opposite of a black hole.” It is the other face of the same structure, blooming outward where the black hole folds inward.
From Torsion to Expansion: Rethinking Cosmic Motion
If we accept that a black hole and white hole form the two mirrored faces of a single higher-dimensional structure, then what we call “expansion” may not be what it seems.
In the standard model, the universe expands outward from a central point—the Big Bang—its galaxies accelerating away from each other across vast distances of space. But from within a torsionally folded structure, what appears to be expansion might actually be unfolding. That is, we are not watching galaxies fly apart in empty space, but rather watching the recursive geometry of spacetime uncoil from a condensed, higher-dimensional fold.
This process is not purely spatial. It’s temporal. As the fabric of spacetime unfolds from its initial torsion, it releases not only space, but time itself. The further “outward” you look, the deeper into time you are seeing—not because light is old, but because time itself is being stretched and released as the fold loosens.
This reframes our entire understanding of cosmic redshift.
Redshift as Temporal Unfolding
In conventional physics, redshift is explained as a Doppler-like effect: light stretches as galaxies move away, its wavelength lengthening, its color sliding into red. But in a torsionally folding-unfolding universe, redshift is not just the stretching of light by motion—it is a signature of time dilation caused by geometric compaction.
As spacetime unfolds, regions that were previously compressed in time begin to release their trapped photons. Light that was slowed, bent, or folded by intense curvature now emerges—lagging behind in a way that makes it appear redshifted.
This could explain why the most distant galaxies appear to accelerate away faster than those nearby. We are not seeing a faster expansion. We are seeing the delayed emergence of light from deeper folds of time.
From this view, redshift is not just a measure of distance. It’s a map of spacetime’s own unfurling.
Temporal Unfolding: Why the Universe Isn’t Accelerating—It’s Relaxing
In standard cosmology, we are told the universe is expanding—and that this expansion is accelerating. Galaxies appear to fly apart faster the farther away they are. But what if this isn’t acceleration at all?
What if what we’re witnessing is a relaxation of tension within spacetime itself?
Here’s the model: the observable universe emerged not just from a singularity, but from a torsionally compacted white hole—a structure nested within a black hole geometry, twisted in on itself. In this early state, spacetime was tightly coiled, like a sponge compressed under immense pressure.
From within the brane, this compacted geometry would have seemed extremely small—not because it lacked extent, but because it lacked dimensional freedom. Space was not expanding, it was unfolding—releasing dimensions that were twisted into one another.
And crucially, in such a tightly folded state, time flowed more slowly.
Just as light bends and dilates when passing through strong gravity, so too does the perceived flow of time stretch in a torsionally compacted region. Photons trapped in these dense folds would have moved sluggishly—not because their speed changed (it can’t), but because the geometry through which they traveled was distorted.
Now fast forward billions of years. As the universe “expands”—that is, as spacetime gradually unfolds from its torsional compaction—time begins to flow more freely. Photons that had been sluggishly trickling through curved, twisted regions begin to emerge in smoother territory.
From our vantage point, this would look as if:
The distant object had accelerated away
Its light had stretched (redshifted) even more than expected
The "speed" of expansion had increased
But none of those are necessarily true.
Instead, we may be witnessing a decrease in time dilation, not an increase in spatial velocity. The light was always coming—it was just filtered through an origami-like fold in spacetime. Now, the fold is loosening.
The “acceleration” of the universe could be an illusion caused by the uncoiling of time.
Nested Origins: Was the Big Bang a White Hole?
If the universe is not expanding in the way we thought—but rather unfolding from a state of torsional compaction—then we must ask: what compacted it in the first place?
One answer may lie in a radical but increasingly considered idea in theoretical physics:
The Big Bang was a white hole.
A white hole is the time-reversed twin of a black hole: where black holes absorb everything—including time itself—white holes expel everything, including the arrow of time. A white hole can be understood as a place where spacetime is forced to move outward, where entropy begins, and where all dimensions begin to unfurl.
Imagine this:
A black hole compacts spacetime into a singular point.
But from another angle—perhaps from a higher-dimensional frame—this “point” is not a collapse, but a twist.
That twist creates a mirrored surface on the other side: a white hole.
If our universe was birthed from such a structure, then we aren’t watching it “grow”—
We’re watching it release.
And that release follows the rules of dimensional geometry:
At first, all dimensions are folded inward.
(Time is compressed into space. Space is bound in a singular direction. Freedom is minimal.)
As time flows away from the white hole, these folds unwind.
The farther we move from the white hole’s origin point (what we call the “Big Bang”), the more the universe appears to expand.
But what’s actually expanding is our freedom to move through Time itself.
We are not rushing through space. We are emerging from a fold.
What Might Lie at the “End” of the Universe?
Contemporary models predict a grim finale—the Big Rip, a cataclysmic unraveling where spacetime itself tears apart. But these projections rely on Euclidean assumptions: that the universe is smooth, flat, and governed by a single, linear thread of time.
But what if spacetime is not flat at all? What if it is torsional—folded and recursive, a higher-dimensional lattice blooming inwards and outwards simultaneously?
If time is compacted into the three spatial dimensions, as current four-dimensional spacetime suggests, then it follows that further dimensional unfolding will release those constraints. In other words: as the universe continues to unfold into higher-dimensional structure, time will gain new degrees of freedom.
This isn’t speculation—it’s consistent with string theory’s own framework, where the fifth dimension represents a terrain of branching possibilities and alternate timelines, as introduced earlier. The fifth dimension is not merely more space; it is a field of simultaneous outcomes—a terrain of forking timelines, where alternate pasts and futures coexist. It’s not just theoretical poetry—it’s a logical extension of dimensional geometry. It’s structure unfolding into perception—a recursive geometry, seen from within.
A being with fifth-dimensional perception wouldn’t just move through time—they would navigate it, traverse it. They could cross from one timeline to another the way a bird shifts flight paths through wind currents. They could access futures not yet written and pasts rewritten by parallel decisions. Movement through time becomes relational.
This is what the future holds—not a flat, predetermined end, but a recursive expansion into branching complexity.
What does that mean for us?
Our universe may already be unfolding into this higher structure. And as it continues, the boundaries between past and future, choice and inevitability, may begin to dissolve. In one timeline, the stars go dark. In another, the spiral turns inward and re-ignites. In another still, we reach awareness of the field itself—and learn to navigate it with intention.
From a fifth-dimensional perspective, none of these outcomes cancel the others out. They exist together, as a web of potentialities woven into the fabric of reality.
And if we live long enough to witness that unfolding?
We will no longer be passengers in time.
We will become pilots.
The universe is not ending.
It is expanding its freedoms.

How do you think the higher ups at starfleet manage vacation leave with time dilation? Here’s the grift I think: you get a very rudimentary job on a starfleet ship. Assuming you aren’t killed during your trial period you request PTO and then vacation for the rest of your life on a ship heading steadily towards a black hole. If your captain shows up to drag you back then they have no ground to stand on because 1. you haven’t even used up a quarter your leave yet, and 2. they are now also steadily approaching a black hole. Even vacationing on a planet would give you slightly more time- I bet there’s a party planet with bonkers gravity out there serving this exact purpose. There have to be plenty of people smart enough to figure this out, and it’s essentially a free money glitch. Just join a black hole commune ship and you get vacation pay for all 60 years of what’s only two weeks to you. Basically get paid upfront for everything. The only downside is that you probably can’t change your mind. It does make me wonder if redshirts being so expendable is kind of built into the model though. You vet all of the people who don’t really care about their jobs and then some by sending them into battle without like. A vest that deflects lasers or some shit. Which they could pay for easily. The problem is that starfleet spends all of their money on sparkly ace bandages and none of it is left over to make bulletproof vests for their employees who get shot at or exploded almost every day. There has to be a policy against time travel because that’s easy to uphold, but time dilation is like everywhere. It’s impossible to account for and they know this.

Absent Witch
The yawning void before her... At this point, simply makes her yawn.
She reaches out to her doll, but for only a moment: from her location, even a moment's worth of magic could echo to the doll for a decade. The only saving grace would be that her touch would be diluted.
Almost as immediately as she sends her touch, she receives one in return. It lasts for a same fleeting moment - but she knows that her doll must have been responding for years.
It's only been a day for her, but she can imagine that it's been a few centuries for the doll.
She would have brought the doll with her - but, durable as she managed to make it, it could only suffer in the wake of the singularity she observes. No, she's far too close for it for be safe for the doll.
She hates being apart from it - but she'll stomach the distance.
She stifles another yawn as her spells swirl around her. She's been here... less than a day, even: Just some nine, ten hours. A short day for her, considering she manages to stay awake for twice the time, but her specifically designed wards are quite taxing to maintain.
Her siphon spell was functional after the first few minutes, but it wouldn't do to simply leave it at that. The unique environment of a singularity makes for unique challenges to stand-alone spells. But if she succeeds, she won't need to return for a millennia or four.
But it's lonely.
She didn't realize she would feel so lonely after just a few hours.
But... That's probably because she knows what passes her by, outside the singularity's sphere of influence.
How the stars move visibly to her unassisted eye.
The time that's passing her by.
Three centuries asofar.
...
Her doll has waited for three centuries.
...
It's still there.
It still responds to her.
It's still waiting.
...
It can't possibly be in the same place, few humans live for more than two centuries, and the antique shop wouldn't last even one.
Her doll is nearly indestructible.
She made it that way, after all, perfect in every way.
...
But isn't that torture?
What if the doll was encased in concrete, or compacted into trash?
Unable to incinerate the doll, destroy it, recycle or disassemble it...
How many years has it existed in darkness, waiting, seething, yearning, trapped and unable to see or move or-
She reaches out instinctively, longer than she meant to - and just as she catches herself -
She receives a same-length response.
...
The doll deserves a better witch.
Anxiety grips her heart.
She wants to live with her doll forever.
That's why she made it the way she did.
She would take the doll with her when she passed.
The end wouldn't be as scary with it there.
Neither of them would be alone.
...
They wanted to break together.
…
She breathes deep.
The spell handling oxygen generation processes more quickly for a moment - then slows back to its normal pace.
She glances at the siphon spell as it cycles steadily.
She should stay for a day or two more, just in case - a millennia in real time.
She would know that the siphon spell would last as long as she needed -
But isn't this long enough?
If necessary, she can just come back and weave the same spell.
It won't last for millennia, but she has something that works.
She'll just need to come back a little more often.

She can go back home to her doll.
...
She replenishes the siphon spell's mana as she makes a decision, committing the spell's construction to memory.

Three centuries of waiting.

It was only a few hours for her.
But it felt much longer.
