I'm seeing a worrying amount of idiots on tumblr dot com push that "Kamala hates trans women" and I am losing my mind at how they are pushing it, constantly, saying she is a proven transmisogynist, despite it being a complete lie and her actively working behind the scenes to help trans women in prison. Is there like, sources that could help debunk this shit because I'm at my wits end as these people scream and cry and vomit trying to get biden to drop out but then are like "eghhhh still don't wanna vote for a transphobic cop..." when she's NEITHER-
Isn't the internet wonderful? first rule NEVER examine your priors! ALWAYS! hang onto whatever the first hot take you had on a subject to THE DEATH!
"Kamala is Transphobic!" over here in reality
Tumblr media
past that trans and LGBT rights groups have been quick to endorse her like
Advocates for Trans Equality
Human Rights Campaign
just today 1,100 LGBT celebrities, lawmakers and leaders endorsed her
“The intersection on the issue of reproductive care and trans care, and the ability of families to be able to have care for their children and their families, is really, again, an intersection around attacks that are on an identity,” -Vice-President Harris, 2023
any ways the root of the idea she's transphobic comes from one case in 2015. Two inmates in the California State Prison system sued to get GRS, which as inmates would have been covered by the Prison system. It's worth noting here, both women got what they wanted, one was paroled and got the surgery covered by California Medicare while the other serving a life sentence was ultimately covered by the prison system.
Two things are important to bear in mind here, 1. Part of the job of California Attorneys General is to defend the state when it is sued, thats the job, 2. It seems early on in the case Harris was not personally aware of it, about 1,000 lawyers work in the Cali AG's office and so the AG cannot be personally aware of every case, and check this quote from the Lambda Legal lawyer handling the case:
“The California AG’s office shifted its handling of these cases significantly after now-Sen. Harris took over,” Renn said. “Initially there was language in briefing for the state that glaringly misunderstood the medical necessity of transition-related medical care and was patently offensive. But then, there was a dramatic change, which seems to have gone along with important policy shifts.”
Link
in 2019 Harris talked about the case and working after it was settled to change the policy of the California State Prison system
"When that case came up, I had clients, and one of them was the California Department of Corrections. It was their policy. When I learned about what they were doing, behind the scenes, I got them to change the policy," Harris said.
"I commit to you that always in these systems there are going to be these things that these agencies do. And I will commit myself, as I always have, to dealing with it," Harris said.
Any ways Harris can consistently spoken out for and supported Trans people, banned the hateful Trans panic defense when she was AG, in the Senate supported the Equality Act, during her 2020 campaign for President she drew attention to the hate crimes against black trans women while holding herself accountable for the 2015 case. As Vice-President she drew fire voicing support for Dylan Mulvaney during the hellish Bud Light backlash. Her Husband Doug was tapped to host the first ever White House Trans Day of Remembrance
basically you're looking at a great ally who clearly supports trans rights, who was involved in a case, which involved two people who got the surgeries they were looking for paid for by the State of California, close to 10 years ago now, there's evidence that both she moved the case in a better direction when she took over it and also that she changed the polices of the state to before more gender affirming.

Hot(?) take: cis men DNI blogs make me pretty upset, I’m going to be honest. If your blog requires me to out myself as a trans man to interact with you it is not a safe place for me or any other trans folk.
Also, can we please stop hating on an entire sex as if being a cis man makes you inherently evil? Being afraid of men due to trauma is very different from hating someone for being born a way you don’t like or because a good number of the group suck. It’s the same shit misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, etc men and women are peddling. Let’s not stoop to their level and practice tolerance and empathy, friends.

British trans people and our allies: write to your MP!
Just before Parliament was dissolved, the Conservative health secretary Victoria Atkins put in place an immediate ban on the prescription of puberty blockers to trans and questioning youth, with a penalty of up to two years in prison. The new Labour health secretary Wes Streeting has said he wants to make this ban permanent. The Good Law Project is challenging this ban in court. Find out more about the situation here.
It's important that, if you can, you write to your MP to let them know how you feel about this and ask them to speak out against it. It's really easy to write to your MP using the website WriteToThem - you don't even have to know the name of your MP; just put in your postcode and it'll tell you.
I'm not going to include a template letter to send, as lots of people sending an identical email tends to be very ineffective at getting an MP's attention and convincing them that a lot of people do actually care about an issue. Unique, individually written emails are much more powerful. But I want to emphasise how easy and doable it is to write to your MP in your own words: there's no set way you have to do it, you don't have to worry about being super formal if you don't want to be, and any personal touch you add is likely to make your email much more persuasive than a copy-pasted template, not less.
If you want to write but are truly stumped as to how to start, here are some ideas to think about:
Specify your personal connection to the issue: whether you're trans yourself, or the parent/sibling/friend/cousin/etc of a trans person. Obviously you don't have to do this - not everyone is comfortable outing themselves this way. You can of course just state that you're a “trans ally” or “someone deeply concerned with trans equality” or “someone deeply concerned with the transphobic trajectory the UK is taking” or something like that. It often helps to emphasise that the issue you're writing about is one that you as an individual care strongly about.
Similarly, if you have a personal story about trans healthcare, especially puberty blockers, feel free to use it. Don't ramble on and on, of course, but personal stories of your experience with an issue often help to make your message more impactful.
Make clear how you feel about the ban on puberty blockers. You can be as concise as you like; there's no obligation to write an essay if you don't want to. If you feel very strongly, say so. You don't have to mince words.
Use the Good Law Project's pages for inspiration on phrasing and arguments if that helps. The GLP has several pages on their site on this issue (here is a good one, and here is another). It's best not to just copy their exact wording, but it can be very useful as inspiration for the kind of points you might want to make.
Don't abuse your MP. You can write in very strong terms without lowering yourself to sending abuse, threats, insults etc at your MP. That kind of thing only guarantees they won't listen to you sympathetically.
Ask your MP to take a specific action. In this case, the action is likely to be “speak out against the ban on puberty blockers”. It helps to give your MP a specific Thing you're asking them to do, to avoid sending a rambling email that only makes them think “ok but what do you want me to do about it?”
If you can, find out a bit about your MP and tailor your letter accordingly. There are some MPs who are consistently really good at supporting trans rights and it probably doesn't help to instinctively go on the attack with someone who is already our ally. In that case, you can thank them for their support so far, state how important it is to you that they have been a trans ally, and ask them to continue their support by speaking out on this issue. With some MPs, especially the new ones, it's really hard to find out their stance on trans rights, but you can do a little sleuthing by searching their Twitter, googling “[MP name] trans (/rights)”, and seeing their voting record at TheyWorkForYou.
If you're writing to a Labour MP, and the issue of trans rights is an obstacle to you voting Labour, you can tell them that. If you no longer feel that you can trust Labour to support your rights as a trans person (or trans rights more generally), you can say so. If Labour has lost your vote over this particular issue, you can say so. If you have voted Labour in the past but didn't do so this year because of its stances on trans rights, you can say so. There are lots of new Labour MPs in this Parliament and many of them have relatively small majorities. Don't be afraid to be explicit that Labour has lost your vote because of its lack of support for trans people, if that is in fact the case. They need to know that this is an issue that people care enough about that it affects the way they vote.
Equally, if your MP is someone you voted for on the basis of their or their party's support for trans rights (for example a Lib Dem or a Green), say that too. Again, MPs like to know the issues that voters care about so much that it sways their vote.
Remember: transphobes are writing to your MP. If you think “ugh, what will just one letter do”, remember that bigots who work against us are very good at writing to MPs to try to sway their opinions. If an MP receives 30 letters from transphobes and 0 letters from trans people and allies, they will think the bulk of their constituents - at least the vocal ones - support the transphobic position. Even a short letter lets them know that actually, there are voters out there who want them to act in support of trans people. Don't let the transphobic voice be the only voice an MP gets to hear.
And if you want some further reading on the Cass Review, the document that Wes Streeting is pointing to in an attempt to justify the ban (which is nuts because the review, while deeply deeply flawed, doesn't even recommend this ban anyway), may I suggest...

Freedom to Fly Comment-a-thon
Training
Thursday, March 13, 2025 7:00 PM -  8:00 PM ET
Zoom
✈️ Join our Freedom to Fly Comment-thon Webinar on March 13th at 7 PM EST and take action to help trans people fly with freedom.
The U.S. Department of State is threatening trans people's ability to obtain accurate passports—creating dangerous barriers to travel, identification, and basic rights. We need your voice to stop these harmful changes! Three federal comment portals are open, and we must flood them with opposition before the deadlines.
Our webinar comment-a-thon will guide you through the process and answer any questions about these portals. Plus, we'll have an instructional video available to walk you through the portals so we can take action together!

If you're in the UK, please sign this petition!
Currently, as a non binary person, I'm not able to get married or a civil partnership as myself and my gender. I'd have to be deliberately misgendered in all the paperwork and in the ceremony - in front of everyone. I'm also unable to get my passport, driving licence, and other official documents to reflect my correct identity. I can't even be officially recognised as trans, even with a gender recognition certificate, because the UK doesn't recognise non binary as a valid identity!
Please Reblog this to get as many signatures as possible! :)
Thanks! :)
Petition: Recognise nonbinary people's genders in law and in identity documents

The rain didn't dampen our shine at Dublin Pride last weekend! And while there was lots of music, dancing and drag, Pride is first and most importantly a protest for:
The urgent passing of hate crime laws
A ban on conversion therapy
Simplified gender recognition for 16- and17-year-olds
LGBTQ+ inclusive schools and subjects
A safe, accessible holistic national gender service for under 18s, and
Safety for the LGBTQ+ community online and offline
Until next year!
Pictured: Belong To marching in the Dublin Pride Parade, 29th June, 2024 despite the heavy rain. Belong To and all its members were the Grand Marshal this year. Pictured on the far right of the photo is the Lord Mayor of Dublin, wearing a nice "Shine" Pride t-shirt under his blazer! Photo: Evan Treacy/PA Wire

Ok
So disgusted. Some people cry and scream that the Barbie movie is pushing trans content and propaganda on the children’s with the new Barbie movie.
Because the movie is featuring a trans woman.
DUDE !!! The movie is literally rated PG13. So it is NOT a kids movie.
Stop whining. Just stop.
Why can’t we just… just like each other a little bit more. Just learn to live with one another. Learn from each other. Just a thought.
Seeing the YouTube content of those dudes crying over this, screaming that they cast a biological man to play a Barbie in the movie.
The comments under the video are equally disgusting and appaling. Makes my skin crawl. Anyways, happy Sunday everyone 💖

Boston is now a sanctuary city for transgender folks! I’ve been having a fantastic day today and this is the cherry on top, especially since I recently moved to mass to escape the south before shit hit the fan. I’m more than happy to get to share this little bit of good news that my boyfriend forwarded to me—it feels good to know we are not fighting alone! 🏳️‍⚧️

I made a card game named Mx.
From its deck of 66 cards, players place Body and Equipment cards, each with original illustrations, to build characters. The core of the game is the Identity card, which changes how placed cards score. While the game is simple to learn, the combination of Action cards, strategy, and luck ensure layered replayability.
Mx. is available for 15 USD at https://www.drivethrucards.com/product/425347/Mx.

So after mistaking forgetting to distribute BERT's training on GPU (BERT is a pretrained model made with PyTorch by META [PyTorch] by Google AI).
This is Pre-GPU distribution (as you can see it ate up my RAM, it originally crashed the entire thing before I switched to the high ram VM).
Tumblr media
This is after GPU distribution which nearly also took up the entire GPU RAM.
Tumblr media
I am on a V100 so this is pretty insane. Training BERT is incredibly demanding but it will be worth it when it helps stop bullying and hate speech. I will be making a separate app for Facebook and the Twitter API using BERT to help block people who are bullying people or spewing toxic hate speech.
I hope that this helps people a lot. I have been the target of cyberbullying / hate speech because I am non-binary (I don't really feel like either but I will go by either gender pronouns / my deadname if I have to). The last time I was on what is now X (Twitter), I ended up deleting it after getting a video from someone who was shooting an AR-15 at a LGBTQ+ flag.
That is what motivated me to develop something that could potentially help stop it as soon as it starts.
