Good morning plurals.
Good morning plurals with OSDD, DID, P-DID and UDD.
Good morning to plurals with another disorder that affects your plurality.
Good morning to plurals without a disorder that affects your plurality.
Good morning to plurals who enjoy being plural.
Good morning to plurals who would rather be singlets.
Good morning to plurals who just found out they are plural.
Good morning to plurals who have known for a while.
Good morning to plurals who just became plural.
Good morning to people who became plural on accident.
Good morning to plurals who became plural on purpose.
Good morning to purposeful plurals who view it as a sort of transition.
Good morning to accidental plurals who prefer it this way.
Good morning to all plurals.

Can I just be the one to say that there's a reason most Tulpamancy blogs left the platform? Like, do you see the harassment, demonizing, and recent campaigns against Tulpamancy systems in the #tulpa tag? Do you see why most Tulpamancy systems avoid Tumblr? Most of them got driven off by the many brigading scumbags out to demonize the community.
Yes, I'm calling them scumbags, even though I know there are certainly well-meaning people who just want to do the right thing, but then there are the scumbags who will not hesitate to witch-hunt and harass people, our time on Tumblr has made that abundantly clear. People who make Plurality spaces unsafe for people like my systemmates and I who don't have the thick hide to deal with being demonized and harassed. People literally trying to divide a community because they don't like a word.
Not only have these kinds of people made Tumblr unsafe for Tulpamancy systems, but it's fucking pointless. Seeing people legitimately think that harassing just a few blogs on Tumblr is going to change the mind of the broader community is just absurd. One, like I said, most Tulpamancy blogs dipped because of the harassment (not just this recent drama, but just by sysmeds in general), and two, the vast majority of the community never congregated on Tumblr to begin with.
God, it just makes me miss when there were all these tulpa development blogs and you just see cool moments like, "My tulpa talked for the first time!" or, "My tulpa changed their form, here's some cute art of it!" Maybe when we have more time, I'll make posts about these blogs. Oh my god, I actually thought of content for this blog for once. Thanks, brain.
Anyway, I apologize for any Tulpamancy system who want to make a blog on here, but are scared of harassment. You're (regrettably) better off just keeping to sites like Tulpa.info for documenting progress.

Western Tulpamancy is so fundamentally different from Buddhist Emanations that the two practices are only similar in name
This is the opinion of a Tibetan Buddhist who is quoted as being a "student of the words of Sogyal Rinpoche, student of Avalokitesvara, student of Kṣitigarbha," and a student of their own emanation (tulpa), Dharma Yokeyodasampa.
On May 11, 2022, this thread on Reddit was opened as an AMA for any member of r/Tulpas to ask questions regarding the Tibetan Buddhist practice of emanation.
The Buddhist (who did not give their own name or pronouns) has answered a couple questions regarding the use of the word "tulpa" as the tulpamancy/tulpa system community uses it. Screenshots of questions and answers with transcripts to follow. Emphasis added by myself for clarity, however, the quotes themselves remain unchanged.
Tumblr media
[TRANSCRIPT:
How do you feel about this community, and by extension, other plural communities?
Answer: I have understood the western Tulpamancy culture for awhile, I’ve been on the old forums but I haven’t really interacted much with the community. I don’t view it negatively, as long as you live your life and treat all sentient beings with kindness, including your tulpa, I don’t see an issue.
How does your emanation/tulpa compare to the headmates of this community? Do you treat them differently in any way? How would you describe your relationship?
Answer: I believe the main difference between Dharma Yokeyodasampa and others, is his vows. He is an ascetic, by choice, and chooses to spend most of his time in my company or meditating in our mental space, which is the likeness of a monastery. He doesn’t indulge much in my world, other than discussing day to day troubles. He is like any other person I would guess, though he is deeply rooted in his spiritual practice, with most of the day up to 8 hours spent in meditation and repetition. Our relationship is like that of brothers, though we consider the other one his Teacher. Much can be learned from both our experiences, and much can be learned of ourselves by discussing ourselves.
How do you feel about this community using the term "tulpa"?
Answer: considering that, from what I understand, tulpa in the western sense is a different culture than that of Tibetan or other shared origin, I don’t see a specific claim to the word. I don’t mind it. It’s fascinating how such a concept has travelled and deviated from its original sources and grew into a practice distinct in culture and community.
/END TRANSCRIPT]
Considering the Buddhist in question had been in these circles for a long period of time before finally announcing themselves, they obviously have a good background of knowledge on the tulpamancy community as a whole. They do not see the community negatively. Their specific quote saying, "[the concept of tulpamancy] has travelled and deviated from its original sources and grew into a practice distinct in culture and community" suggests to me that they (and, by extension, more than likely other Tibetan Buddhists) see the key differences between Buddhist Emanations and Western Tulpamancy.
This distinction also becomes clear in the quote, "tulpa in the western sense is a different culture than that of Tibetan or other shared origin," so one can conclude we are not even pretending to practice the same emanation as Buddhists.
Tumblr media
[TRANSCRIPT
Please be sure to “DM” me and I will retrieve some good reads for you.
In my personal understanding, not all tulpa are Bodhisattva or other enlightened beings. I believe western tulpas are incomplete variations or effects derived from Deity Yogic practices. That is to say, visualizing and maintaining a practice of meditating on -and with- the Buddhas/chosen deity or enlightened being, is meant to achieve an end goal such as purification, and realization of the true state of bliss.
While western tulpa seem to be made as companions with a secular division.
/END TRANSCRIPT]
This further places a distinction between Buddhist and western tulpa; Buddhist tulpa are created with a specific end goal in mind, whereas western tulpa are usually non-spiritual companions.
In conclusion, and to summarize:
Western tulpamancy and the practice of Tibetan Buddhist emanation are similar in basic method and name, but that is where the similarities stop
Western tulpa tend to be secular (non-religious) and psychological, in contrast with Tibetan Buddhist tulpa
Tibetan Buddhist tulpa are made with a specific end goal of enlightenment and/or purification, whereas Western tulpa are usually created with the intent of being companions
Tulpa simply means "an emanation" in this context and is a broad term
Cultural appropriation is not what is happening because we are not claiming our practice of Western tulpamancy to be the same as the advanced Deity Yoga of Tibetan Buddhism

Cute things I have / want to do with my tulpa! #1
Have a tea party! It'd be an absolutely adorable way to bond and have fun!
- where will the party be held?
- are you using a table or a blanket? Is it decorated?
- what tea will you be having? Will it be in cute cups or fancy tea sets?
- what snacks will you have? What snacks does your tulpa like?
- is it a themed party or for a special occasion?
- does your tulpa want to try learning tea party etiquette? It'd be a fun learning experience!

"Why aren't we seeing widespread plural acceptance yet?"
Guys... for thousands of years, plurals have kept completely to ourselves out of fear of being tortured for demonic possession or locked away in insane asylums.
The first plural communities and the term "plural" itself in reference to multiple agents in one body didn't start until the 90s.
The communities were largely hidden away, not interacting with most of the mainstream internet until the early 2010s.
The first studies into the plural community didn't start until the back half of the 2010s.
Pluralkit wasn't made until 2018, and many singlet-run servers have already adopted it to make their spaces more accepting of systems.
The Plural Association wasn't founded until 2020, just 4 years ago.
2023, this year, saw the very first time a system's system name, "The Redwoods," was used as the authors of an academic paper. Something that I hope, while remarkable now, can become the norm.
Yes, acceptance is slow. It can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes. It can be hard to recognize history as it's happening. But make no mistake, history IS happening. Progress is being made.
We've hit some major milestones in a relatively short time and this is only the beginning!

Guide to Pluralkit
So pluralkit is a tool used very commonly for plural systems. Basically what it does is proxy who’s speaking (this can have an alters name, pronouns, a custom profile picture, ect.) it’s very easy to use once you get the hang of it!
Step 1. Make yourself a private discord server. The reason why is because that way it’s easier to edit and save what you need in the server.
Tumblr media
after this you will need to add pluralkit to the server. You can do this by going to the website (https://pluralkit.me) or clicking the bot in a server you share with it, and adding it to your server.
Okay so after that, set up your server. All it needs is the channels you guys need. Obviously general can be whatever, we use it for bot commands. Would recommend a system chat channel, especially if you cannot speak internally. Other channels that might be helpful, or channels to store picrews and things of that nature, we have one for storing alter intros, if you don’t want to have a psychical diary, you could start one in the private server, and basically anything you need. The idea is that this server only has you guys in it
Tumblr media
Step 2. Okay so you’ll need to set up a system now. To get started you’ll need to do pk;s new keep in mind you can only have one system per discord account, and only 1k members (we have heard you can request more in the discord server, but we haven’t tried it ourselves)
Most system servers require a system tag. To set one you do pk;s tag (tag here) tags can be anything in a character limit. Ours is 💙. Some servers don’t like when people have the same tag, so if you need to change it in a server you can do pk;s server tag (tag here)
After setting up your system to add a member you do pk;m new (members name) keep in mind you want it to be one word with no spaces or hard to use symbols. This is so it’s as easy as possible to edit. Also would like to add, if you throw in a image while doing this command, it will set that alters avatar without having to do another command (image below is a random image we had saved) if you are like us, and have alters that share names, it’s best to just add a number (no space still) infront, this makes it way easier to edit.
Tumblr media
To set up a display name you do pk;m (members name) dn (what you want it to say, we normally have name and pronouns, and if a alter has like a specific role in the system, sometimes that gets added if the alter wants it)
Tumblr media
If you accidentally set the wrong profile picture, or a alter wants a different one for whatever reason, the command is pk;m (name) avatar and then insert the photo
Tumblr media
Finally to set a proxy do pk; (member name) proxy (proxy here)text (the text can also be behind the poxy, it just has to be behind or above) proxys can be anything basically! We usually use emojis, although whatever you do, make it something you don’t use. For emojis we have one or two emojis typically that represent the alter, and then the blue heart emoji in front that way if it’s a emoji we use a lot, it isn’t going to proxy us by accident. You can either do the proxy everytime you speak, or do a few commands.
Pk;ap latch this latches to the last used proxy. Good when one alter is having a conversation, but others aren’t.
Pk;ap (name) this latches to the alters name that is used. Does not change until turned off, or switched to a different alter, or auto proxy command.
Pk;ap front this command sets whoever is set as fronting as the auto proxy. The front is set by doing pk;switch (name) To turn off all of these the command is Pk;ap off
Step 3. With pluralkit you can add alters to groups!
Tumblr media
To make a group you do pk;g new (groups name) like with the base names you want it to be one word, no spaces or weird symbols.
with groups you can set display names, descriptions, avatars, just for that group!
pk;g description (put the description you want with the command)
pk;g avatar (photo)
pk;g dn (name)
To add members to the group do pk;g (groups name) add (name) (name 2) you can add as many as you want, just make sure to not use commas or and, just name after name separated by a space
Step 4. To set a system/alter description and banner is pretty easy.
For system:
pk;s description (desc goes here)
pk;s banner (add image)
For Alters:
pk;m (name) description (desc goes here)
pk;m (name) banner (add image)
Step 5. Finally, some good commands to just know.
If you react with a question mark emoji on an alter using pluralkit, it gives you information about the person. (Username, ect)
If you have a member you feel needs to be private the command is pk;m (name) private
to delete a member you do pk;m (name) delete and then enter in the code it gives you
to change a alters base name, (not dn) do pk;m (name) rn (new name)
A fun little pluralkit game is going “pk;r (random silly thing here)” Pk;r randomly picks a alter, so putting a random caption over it can be fun sometimes.
if you do set a alters name as something with a space, you’ll have to edit it in qoutes. (Pk;m “Example name with a space” (command)
to look up a list of alters do pk;m list or pk;s list
Thanks for reading! Pluralkit is confusing at first, so we thought we would make a simple guide!

FAQ If you’re a sysmed, you might end up here! Congrats if you do!
What is a system? A system is anyone who has more than one entity/identity in the body/brain.
What is plural/multiple? They mean pretty much the same as "system", only "plural" was made exclusively to be inclusive of every experience that involves many in the same body. E.g. if someone is an anti-endo or sysmed and uses the hashing "plural" to find friends, they're going to attract inclusive folks who support endos.
What is DID? DID stands for Dissociative Identity Disorder. It is a disorder in which a system experiences severe dissociation that heavily impacts their life on a day-to-day basis.
What is OSDD? OSDD stands for otherwise Specified Dissociative Disorder and is used when they experience similar symptoms to DID but are missing one of the diagnostic criteria. E.g. OSDD-1A is used when there's a lack of distinct identities or no identities. OSDD-1B is used when there's a lack of memory gaps. (The separate OSDD categories don't properly exist as a diagnosis themselves - they are carried over from DDNOS.)
What is UDD? UDD stands for Unspecified Dissociative Disorder. It's often used as a placeholder diagnosis by professionals to say that although there is a dissociative disorder, they're not sure what it is.
What is a non-disordered system? A non-disordered system is a system without DID, OSDD, or UDD. They don't experience the disorders or do not fit the criteria.
What is traumagenic, endogenic, mixed-origins, etc.? Traumagenic is a system that is formed from trauma. Endogenic is a system that is formed without trauma. Mixed-origins is a system that has multiple origins, E.g. some alters came from trauma and some did not.
What is a Tulpa? A Tulpa is a created identity that comes from repeatedly feeding information on one character or multiple characters into the brain. It can be purposeful or accidental.
DID/OSDD/UDD are trauma disorders? The diagnostic criteria for the disorders don't include trauma being necessary, nor does it anywhere else in the category. Trauma disorders and dissociative disorders are also categorised separately, and there are past studied cases of DID that weren't caused by trauma. The DSM-V-TR also includes a section that states trauma isn't necessary for a diagnosis.
You need trauma to be a system? The DSM-V specifies that a diagnosis of DID cannot be applied to cultural plurality. Culture-related plurality has existed and been documented for centuries, erased by colonisation and racism. Common cultural plurality includes Tibetan Buddhism, many Two-Spirit folk, medians, and mediums. These and more are all plural.
Dissociation is a trauma reaction? You’ll find nearly every if not every professional refers to some dissociation as “trauma-related dissociation” - take, for example, Kathy Steele, one of the writers of the Theory of Structural Dissociation, whose work consists almost only of “trauma-related dissociation”. That wouldn’t be necessary if dissociation only came from trauma. Dissociation is commonly shown to exist both inside and outside of other disorders. It’s especially common in BPD, ADHD, MADD, autism, and a few other disorders.
So only cultural and spiritual plurality can be non-traumagenic? They’re the most well-researched, but not the only non-traumagenic plurality. There are a few different theories as to how other plurality can form. Many experience their plurality caused by mostly unrelated disorders - autism, ADHD, BPD, Bipolar Disorder, MADD, etc. Others report accidentally creating alters, especially those who focus on characters, such as writers, artists, and authors. Yet more simply say they were born with their plurality, or grew up being plural without trauma being the cause. We believe plurality that hasn’t existed since birth could be caused by a “feedback loop” (here) in which one’s brain, after being fed repeated information, begins to predict the information, therefore creating actions to fill that prediction. This could be used to explain Tulpamancy (repeated info), artists/authors/writers (repeated info), ASD (masking and special interests), ADHD (masking and hyperfixations), BPD (splitting and more), MADD (repeated info), Bipolar (different states), and so on.
Endogenic systems harm traumagenic systems? We and others have asked multiple times for sysmeds to tell us why they think endogenic systems hurt them, and every time we’ve either received silence or something that’s already been covered. Besides that, anti-endos hurt other traumagenic systems with their BS far more than endogenic systems might hurt them.
Anti-endos hurt traumagenic systems? Yup, and very frequently, considering sysmeds repeat the exact same information. Sysmeds say you have to be disordered to be a system - traumagenic systems exist without being disordered. Sysmeds say endogenic systems stole traumagenic terms - a mix of the communities coined the majority of system terms, and “endogenic” was coined by a traumagenic system. Sysmeds say what someone went through isn’t traumatising or horrific enough - traumagenic systems can be caused by any amount of trauma, no matter how “insignificant” it seems. Sysmeds repeatedly tell endogenic systems they need to have trauma - telling someone they have to have trauma when they either don’t or have amnesia around it can be incredibly damaging and has hurt many traumagenic systems. Sysmeds say they need to go to a psychologist or a therapist and be diagnosed - many traumagenic systems can’t be diagnosed. Many endogenic systems have trauma, just know they weren’t formed from it, and anti-endos repeatedly mock them about having trauma. There’s much, much more, but to end it, as a traumagenic system, we’ve personally been assaulted, harassed, threatened, told to kill ourself, and had our trauma completely invalidated and discarded by anti-endo traumagenic systems.

Endogenic Research (Text Form) - NightFallSystem
----------------------------
Hey everybody.
This is a list of the research and resources we've compiled over the last year or so that refers in some way to plurality, especially in the context of being endogenic and non-traumagenic supportive.
We often argue this subject on Twitter, alongside (hope you don't mind the tags) @cambriancrew and @sophieinwonderland . We've included a few of their posts in this, as they do share some wonderful information. Sophie deals in mainly Tulpamancy, we believe? And Cambrians does a wide range of things. They've both been incredibly helpful, so big credit and massive thank you to those two (and anyone else in this document) :)
Feel free to link this post or the document itself to anyone. Link it everywhere. Feel free to tag us too, as your friendly neighbourhood endo-friendly traumagenic DID system with PTSD and CPTSD. Our collective pronouns are phe/phex/phins, and we're collectively called Guardians or Guardians System.
Hope this helps some folks! If anything's wrong in this post, mention it in the notes (we think that's how Tumblr works?) and we'll adjust it in the Google Document. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to remain anonymous or would like to talk to us directly, you can check our LinkTree at the top of this page. We're always open to feedback and new research! We're especially interested in making our document more reader-friendly, as it can be a bit of an eyesore. but we're not the best at formatting documents.
If we do receive updates to edit some information, we'll be doing so on the document, so always double-check there in case there's been a change. If there are enough updates, we'll redo this post, but hopefully, that won't be necessary for a long time, because formatting all this in Tumblr is more than enough for us.
Thank you for reading!

You don’t need a system name, you don’t need a system aesthetic, you don’t need a collective identity. You don’t need to put your whole system– or any aspect of it– online in order to be a system.
You can just exist, you don’t need to make every aspect of your system public. You’re still a system even without a system name or collective pronouns or a system blog.

Tulpas and other created headmates are so fucking cool. You engaged in the act of your own creation!!! Isn't that awesome??? You get to decide it all, right alongside the only person that'll ever 99-100% understand you from the ground up. That person wanted you in their life so intensely that they dedicated themselves to making you in one way or another! That's mind-blowing! You have something real and something special. Hey tulpas- it's important that you exist. Don't forget that!!!

Update on our journey into tulpamancy !!
Progress Checklist;
- Head pressure
- Easier communication
- Better visualisation
Summary;
I've been getting lots of head pressure on the upper right of head, typically before or after a forcing session. Forcing in general has become much easier and less awkward, and I've been needing to repeat much less! Rei's voice is staying steadier than ever and is getting consistent, it's also been much easier to hear vamp instead of me! His form has also gotten much easier to see, as has our rather barren wonderland for now!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a part of the new tumblr beta feature Communities, we've been approved for one of our very own - And I would love your help building this Fully Inclusive Plural Community with me! 💜
The infrastructure is still being developed, so there's some bugs and built in restrictions - We can only invite about 20 more people in right now, only main blogs, no sideblogs, sorry. This also means I'll be posting there from my main @afaintcloudyhaze :)
If you're interested in joining, please let me know in a reply to this post from your main blog. The only requirement is that you feel a connection to plurality and you want to contribute to the conversation about it.
