Jazz tries to catch the next bus or the next lecture. She also has a pet blob ghost which she takes with her in secret. The blob ghost wants to catch one of the falling items, too bad that they also throw other things out of the bag when trying to do so.

My first thought with this prompt:

Aw man, sweet memories of being in university and poor AF...

We all depended on each other's mothers to feed us in Uni. without mothers, we lived off of Mr. Noodles/buttered rice for dinner (if we had butter).

Well.

I’m fucking terrified of the end of university.

When I was in highschool, I figured I’d get a degree or two, then get a job somewhere and make enough money to live comfortably.

But the closer I get to that, the more I feel nothing but dread. I don’t have a lot of marketable skills. My degree’s an arts degree with a history slant. Where does that get me? Dead end corporate? Dead end governement? Dead end retail? I just see a whole lot of dead ends. Three years from now, I’ll have my degree, and my only longstanding employement will be in a dirt cheep sleep away summer camp. Sure, I’ve worked in other places, but two months of working in a shitty café and four months of coaching soccer is fucking pathetic.

When I was little, I didn’t really have dreams. I never really wanted to be a doctor or an astronaut, or whatever the fuck it is kids get told they should want to be. Jobs that are impossible for almost all of us. Of course I chose one for when teachers asked. I ‘wanted’ to be a veterinarian, because I liked my grandmother’s dog and I thought it wouldn’t be so bad.

The truth is, every single career I’ve ever actually taken interest in is something that I’ve either already shut myself out of, or something that would make my parents shake their heads and raise their eyebrows. I never wanted to be a doctor, but I did want to be a prosthetist. I wanted to help people walk or run again. I wanted to help them live to the fullest and do everything they wanted to do, but my own brain got in my way. I’m not wired for numbers, my dyslexia barely lets me do basic multiplication and geometry, so anything scientific is a big fucking nope. I also thought I could be an artist, but as I got older and started to figure out what that would look like, I dropped that idea real fast. Working in the videogame industry sounds like hell on earth, so does the film industry. Freelance is unreliable as hell, especially when you don’t make art that a gallery would take.

I don’t know where this is going. I guess I’m just fucking angry that I’ve been told that things are just gonna work out because I’m a “smart girl” and that if I just get a degree I’ll be set for life, like a good cog in the machine.

Well, guess what? I don’t think I fit anywhere in the machine.

There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation
