One of the new additions to the build is flagging especially hard enemies. Currently, enemies 1 tier above the current dungeon tier have a 2% chance to spawn. This can mix up the battles to keep players on their toes, and give especially strategic players the chance to earn equipment, and a possible ally, one tier higher than what they'd usually have access to!
However, during playtesting, I got absoutely wrecked by a single monster and I had no idea it was a strong one because I didn't have the chance to scan it. On the suggestion of a friend, if I had big flashing warning symbols on it, I would have been more careful and run away or played more defensively. And so now I do!
It was easy enough to make it yellow, since all sprites are drawn as white to begin with and then a colour blend is added to it in game. The warning symbol is new, but uses the same code as the HP and recruitment UI text, but with an image instead!

YEASSSS I DID IT, i finally fixed this INSANELY annoying glitch, i have this variable called "onwall" and I set it up so that when a raycast on the side is colliding in a wall, and the ground raycast isn't colliding, the player would be "onwall" and when "onwall" the velocity.x isl zero so the player sticks into the wall!!!! this way i could also set up a walljump mechanic! so when onwall and the player jumps yada yada the player jumps from the wall!!
BUT FOR SOME REASON THE CODE DIDNT WORK FOR THE LEFT RAYCAST, it was the exact same code and all the variables worked fine on their own BUT THE SECOND I put them together it didnt do shit,I was shitfaced gonklesmackled, i could not figure out wtf was wrong, and i stil don't, i just moved the if statement to be inide the if statement for the right wall stuff, after an or. AND IT WORKED
genuinly mad, wtf why didnt it just instantly work??
anyway expect some wall jumps soon!!!

HarvesterHarvester (HH) v1.0.0
It's been a while since I posted a dev log! Yeah, long story short, I started reverse engineering Harvester (DigiFX, 1996) a while back and I ended up having so much fun while doing it, that this was the only project I worked on for the past month and some change.
I definitely want to make a more technical blog post in the future, but for the time being here's the quick run down:
This is a tool that extracts game files from Harvester's dat files.
The program works in two steps:
It reconstructs the original disk images that Harvester would've shipped with in 1996
It extracts the dat files contained within those new directories in order to give you full access to all of the game's files (~2GiB in total!)
I definitely need to make a better announcement post later, but I'm lazy, so here's just a link to it on GitHub for the time being.

Basic Pascal version 1.18 “Duckling” - Show Video
Short video, you can watch new games here, that were developed for this version Basic Pascal pack. Fragments of gameplay and drawings.
Version 1.18 has a name “Duckling”. And it is dedicated to duckling. And theme of countryside and summer. So, a positive. For this time, it is 4 new games. Puddles at the Countryside, Duckling Pseudo 3D, Road at Countryside, Duckling Goes 2D.
Summer games. For good mood and positive! Funny ducklings are running! Big and small! It is so fun! And how cool to have a walk after the little rain! And about a road to a countryside - it is whole adventure! And duckling is running and jumping!
And one more thing, there is here a game about a big doing quack-quack duckling! There is sound! He speaks quack-quack! And runs by the field and water. And he collects duckling-coins!
This time I do programming with QB64. It is modern version of QBasic.

Hi There! Guess what! I'm back, but... Not with art (i guess?)
I came to do a search for a programmer for a project that has been planned for almost 8 years!
But just this year we started producing its assets and everything about it, But... We don't have anyone in charge of programming the game... (It will be in Godot Engine)
Therefore, because of this small flaw, we will not be able to make a demo of the game, so therefore, I need your help!, I tried it by myself, but I think that only the art is better for me...
NOTE: The Screenshots below are just concept mock-ups, not actual gameplay footage.
So... My proposal (I hope it is convincing, believe me, we have almost nothing to offer... For now!) Is a drawing of your preference (OC's, Favorite Characters) or something like that, seriously, at the moment, we don't have something like... The money or all that stuff... I hope you understand, it's our first project, we're just trying to get started...

A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Nintendo has just announced that it will discontinue its Gold Points rewards program across the Switch eShop and official Nintendo website.
From 25th March 2025, players will no longer be able to earn Gold Points from purchases.
Points earned before this date will still be usable and will remain valid for 12 months after they've been earned. This includes digital purchases and preorders made on or before March 24, and physical games can still be registered for Gold Points rewards so long as the game is released by March 24.
Anyone who has bought physical games recently, make sure to claim your points before the Gold Point program end date.
No word yet if Nintendo will replace the program with another one, once the Switch 2 hits shelves, later this year.

In the demo build of the game, at the bottom of dungeons deep enough, you'll find a unique object that allows you to summon the train boss I've been posting about over the last couple of weeks. (Ignore the fact that I'm still on floor one, I've spawned in a test one for demonstration purposes!)
I also totally forgot to make the object delete itself after being interacted with until today! So since I was debugging it, I thought I might as well show it off to you guys!
I have designed the boss fight to be beatable when you're at the upper end of the tier 1 content (levels 1 to 10), but it'll also spawn even within the tier 2 sectors (levels 11 to 20) and should still be fairly challenging, especially if you're worn down fighting your way to get down to it. The game is quite open, so depending on how you play it, beating it might be considered the end of the demo.
However, the actual "official" end of the demo is after completing all of the tier 2 research , and you'll get a nice thankyou message instead of the tier 2 capstone research description that would advance you to tier 3. For those inquisitive minds, I'll save you the trouble - even if you managed to complete the research and cheat your way to tier 3 sectors and beyond, there are literally no enemies/items/locations tagged as tier 3 within the relevant databases!
I have a big announcement coming tomorrow, by the way, so look forward to that! Until then, thanks for reading as always :)

Road to Countryside - Quest is done!
Countryside and summer – what can be better for weekend? So, the same about a main hero of this videogame, he thinks the same! He is going to the countryside. He collects all his things, pack things and now, right now, he is going to countryside. He will take with himself a ball, which he likes to play. And will go. He closes the door. He takes on his favorite cap. He takes a place in a bus. He will buy a ticket for train. And he will find out himself at the countryside territory.
There, he will go through the forest, though the field. He will pick up some flowers. He takes with himself several bushes. Several flowers, he will pick up and will plant them at his country house place! Even a bug, a funny bug he will take with himself! It is a storyline in a simple way!

Game with genre of quest and search for items. With style of different quests from early MS Dos graphics age. So, here, it is, also, a 16 colors. And different graphics primitives, out of them it is drawing everything here. Game is not hard. Usually, at every game scene you need to take 3 items. And. They are, rather, easy to see. Game is more for positive. And, not for make some hard things to gamer.
So, here, there are here two phases. In first phase, you need to read text. It is a story. It is everything with description about what is going on. And what you need to do. So, it is straight – it is written. For example. I like to play with ball. It is good to take a ball with myself. Now, I am going to countryside. And, pack a things. So, now, you get a knowledge - about you need to collect a things. And go to a countryside.
With the idea not to skip everything while do a fast mouse click, about text screens. There is a 2 seconds pause. So, every text screen has a duration with minimum about 2 seconds. And after you, already, start to click with mouse, when you want and it will be - something next. One more screen with text or, already, a game scene.
Second phase. It is a game phase. So, here, you are search for items. And, at the top, it is written – that you find some item. As a rule – you take this or that item. And, in the end – about, that scene is complete and press left mouse button. Control in game using mouse. And one mouse button - left. It is in use LBM (left button Mouse).
Saying simple – it is funny and simple quest about a countryside. At every little picture, find items, It will be written. And move mouse all over the screen.
Theme – it is a road to countryside. Train. Listen player. With songs. Something really funny and cool. It is forest and field. Grass and flowers.
Funny moment. So, you are going by countryside roads. So, you can count, that half of the road is behind you. And, around you - it is forest and field. Tress. Birds are singing. By the way - just a moment ago, it was a raining here. And, flowers and a grass are a little in water. Everything, is so refreshing. Excellent refreshing air. So, refreshing. And, summer and sun. So, it is warm. So, now, you will go out of the forest and it will be a hot weather. And you are walking and watch at all of this with calm and positive. Everything is, so, beautiful and interesting.
And, so, here before your eyes - it is interesting bug, he is sitting here. So big and interesting bug. And you decide to take him to your country side place! To make him run at your place.
Wow! Now, with you, bug will live at your place, so big and interesting funny bug! So, look, he is at the grass, he is sitting or he climbs at the tree!
Weather is fine and you are walking and enjoy the life! Countryside season – it is, most best, beautiful time in a year. When it is weekend – immediately to go to countryside. Take a things and run! By the train, by bus. And run across the field. Happy run by field and though the forest.
And, next, also, it is good, while you are walking the road to collect some little flowers and bushes to take some funny bush. Well, flowers are very beautiful and cool in the field. There are no such flowers at your countryside! So, now, they will to be! And, little bush such a fluffy funny and cool, it is growing. You can to see it with your eyes. Eyes catch them. And, it will be planted at your place too!
At the sky, there is a bright little sun is shining. There are no clouds, almost. And, so, you are out of the forest, already, reach the field. And, you go forward though the field – and, already, there it will be a countryside place. And, there are grasshoppers, they are singing funny songs. And, little grass is green! Beautiful! Excellent place!
And here, you are, already, walking by country houses place, walk by countryside till you reach your place. And, someone, throw away a gear! You take it with yourself! It can be useful! Something like, you can to say – in a things, it is very useful! And here it is your place. So. Quest is done and you are at the countryside!
Basic Pascal version 1.17 "BLOCK" – most newest version. In this version there are 4 new games! Platform Ball, Cabin Pilot, Free Blocker, Free Bee. And even more retro games! It is a pack of retro games with modern versions of Basic and Pascal.
It is now in development new version Basic Pascal pack games. This game will be included in a new version.
