Watch what you say around me
You could end up in a poem
And if you’re unlucky
It might just be a crap one
With a chaotic rhyme scheme
And far too many similes
Don’t say I didn’t warn you

Dreams //
I said
I had dreams
So faintly
As though
They might not crack
The glass in-between
I said
I had a heart
So quietly
As to not hear
My heart beat
I said
Both are now dead
So softly
That the earth
Might not notice
What is buried
Underneath

Paper hearts
Lines blood soaked
Words too heavy
Messy messages
Murdered promises
We fold emotions
We fidget fingers
Tucked into corners
We bury sentiments
Paper hearts floating down river
Blood flowing down our throats

December nights
And January cold,
Winter is like an old friend,
Knocking on the door.
They bring a fresh gust of windy memories and a painting
They painted in regard to thee;
White and cold and full of warm opportunities,
this winter it feels.
There is aimless drifting chatter
Fluttering by,
You don't know what to make of it,
You're alone;
But not really.
Not tonight.

The gentle touch of your fingertips across my body feels like magic
Your soft lips pressed against mine, moans slipping in between only to
Be caught in each other’s mouths
I haven’t felt the touch of a lover like you
With you, I feel safe, secure, loved, peaceful, at home
So many others have torn into my skin to leave their mark, to ensure I would never be able to forget them
they’ve used my body as a tool of pleasure,
Not one to be pleasured
I’ve heard my name is so many voices, I’ve started to forget that there’s any meaning at all
But with you,
Hearing my name slip from your lips sounds like a
Thousand I loves you in just one second
You hold my name so softly, like something to be worshiped
not be worshiped by
Hold me close, my dear
When the leafs change color
When the nights get long and dreary
When snow dusts the ground, like powered sugar on a pancake
When the flowers bloom once more
When the sun is too hot everywhere but the lake
And again and again and again and again
Until our hands know each other better than ourselves
Our bodies merge into one
Until I forget what it was like to not hold you
With grey and wrinkled hands

messy lipgloss.
our lips touch lightly as we kiss
she places her hands on my hips
and it’s strangely comforting
i want to tell the world that i love her
and shout it out from the rooftops
but we slowly break apart
breathing heavily our eyes wander
in case there was an an intruder
i haven’t lost hope for such a day
where we can do this without such
so the past hour was hidden from the world
but that’s the story behind my messy lipgloss.

The foxgloves
so named
I’ve always imagined
because foxes could wear them
as poisonous mittens
are preparing to bloom
on a Sunday afternoon
spent micro-fracturing my heart
and resetting the break
Prospecting it’s contents
for a suggestion of promise
hoping to uncover
just one decent sentence
Convince me that if I had to
I could write to save my life
The bees are all unfolding
The clouds are looking ripe

// to be //
Marbled floors
With intricate tapestries
There was once a rumor
That those who prayed here
Spoke words as sweet as honey
As the silver glowed in their dark hair
They kept experiences
Neatly braided
And clothed in white shawls
Never missing a beat to be grateful
Those people who I thought
Knew not of the struggles I face
The ones I thought
Ought to carry the most weight
Those perplexities
I've learnt
Only matter to me
For in that time
I had believed
No one could save me
So when their prayers were answered
And I was given a new life
I breathed the fresh air
And I let the thoughts free, at last
I entered the same rooms
Floors changed
And windows wide open
Those wrinkled faces had moved on
And now it was almost time to bloom
I figured I can only carry my soul
This far
And the memories will soon depart
But they remained a part of me
In my mannerisms
In words of sorrow and glee
For we choose what becomes of us
Ashes and bones
Hopes and disgust
So while the flicker of hope lasts
I let the storm pass
For whatever they said
Got fulfilled
A prophecy is being written
Each time we forgive
Time and ourselves
For experiencing loss
And still learning to be.

I've been crying for an eternity
I've been waiting for a lifetime.
I've been blessed for nothing.
I'm been bleeding for everything.
This is life and love.
This is everything.
