the Lang brothers, making the most convoluted twists, every time the rest of starkid gave fair and well thought out reasons on why a character would win a Hatchetfield match

Today, in ‘Astarion casually saying the most gutting shit imaginable’, this bit of act 3 banter:
Gale: Mystra has a shrine within the city. Located in the Stormshore Tabernacle, if my memory serves me.
Astarion: Do whatever you need to, but I shan't be paying my respects to any of the gods on show.
Gale: You never felt the call of the divine, Astarion?
Astarion: Oh, I tried them all. None of them answered.

I think my fic where Xander accidentally becomes a successful novelist (largely without realizing it) is the funniest idea I’ve ever had. This guy started writing little stories to remember their adventures in Sunnydale (his last line in Chosen about “how will anyone even know about this unless we tell them” burrowed itself into my little archivist brain and won’t let go) and posts them online. He unintentionally goes viral. He thinks someone named Simon N. Schuster is leaving him voicemails. He ends up on the New York Times bestseller list.
He doesn’t even realize that everyone else thinks the stories are fiction. Xander is out here writing autobiographical non-fiction but everyone else thinks he’s a weirdly dedicated author that’s really committed to maintaining a Lemony Snicket style pseudonym/persona for the narrator of his novel. There are “Who Is Xander Harris?” articles. No one can dig up much of anything on him because he lived his whole life in a town that got wiped off the map. He keeps rejecting requests for interviews because of his stage fright. At first this drives his publicist absolutely ballistic but it just adds the the air of mystery that’s drumming up book sales so she lets it go.
He only responds to questions over email and only ever responds “in character” as his “novel’s narrator” and this baffles everyone, only adding to the supposed mystery. It’s literally not even Xander actually writing the emails 95% of the time. It’s Dawn. She has appointed herself as “Xander’s representation” even though she doesn’t really know what being someone’s representation means. She printed business cards.

This might be controversial to some, but you cannot "tough love" your way to preventing suicide. You cannot have the attitude that people who complete suicide are selfish or are ungrateful or immature. If your mindset about suicide isn't coming from compassion rather than judgment, it won't help suicidal people. You will never help us with a slap on the wrist and a lecture about how we're awful for even thinking about completing suicide.
Suicide intervention starts with compassion and care.

Which do you prefer, Super Sentai or Kamen Rider?
that can...really depend on what the current series are. :') but I think overall I'm more into Rider! Sentai tends to be more consistent quality-wise, but Rider has much more variety in terms of narrative structure and what it tries to do, if that makes sense. not necessarily in terms of theme, but in, like, story beats and pacing and character arcs and things like that. it doesn't always hit (and when it's bad, it's...pretty bad) (stares straight off into middle distance) but usually it's at least making an earnest attempt at doing something interesting. and when it does hit, it hits.
they are both very close to my heart though! :> plus Sentai's been doing some serious shakeups to the formula with Donbros and Kingohger, which I'm very very into. lately it seems like they've been messing around with some of the foundational stuff of both franchises in an interesting way, and I'm excited to see where they go with them!

I've seen a few people talk about how much smoother things would have gone for the cast if they had A Mature Conversation about things, but like. they're teenagers. Not only that, they're all gifted kid teenagers who also have Issues (except Hajime who only has the Issues). How capable do you think they are of going 'alright now boys we need to talk about your misogyny' or somesuch

#really dont like the venti is causing everyone in mond to be tranquil theory but *slowly pushes it towards this*
Is there a theory he's actively tranquilising Mond's people somehow?
If so, yeah, I think it would be out of character for him. He doesn't force things onto people but he's still happy to be a manipulative little bastard, most egregiously with the document forgery to accelerate the rebellion 1000 years ago, so this version where Mondstadt's culture and scenery just promote being chill would make more sense imo.
Unless there's some mechanism through which the Seven sap their people's free will by existing/doing their jobs/receiving worship, which I wouldn't be surprised by but would apply equally to all of them. If anything Venti would be trying to avoid that one.
Yeah yeah yeah!!!
The one I was referring to was
Theory (at the part just labeled Venti's Music is Celestial)
It Sure Is a Theory and I highly doubt Venti would do something like that. If anything, his songs Inspire people.
I do wonder if his facade as the Most Popular Bard is somehow secretly a way for him to get more adoration through. Like if we are leaning into the very being dark grey instead of light grey in terms of morality, then he might be trying to gain double the amount of worship and love for... some reason.
All while the cyro archon seems to be doing the opposite. Honestly its so strange to be that she is so... callous with her people? I know she has no love left for her people but honestly it looks like she is trying to purposely sever the adoration to me. <- Just Theorizing over here
😔 why is Venti so sus
