#why 21 years?

21 years of Camp Half-Blood Beads!

I had a lot of fun designing these; canon events and details have been used where we have them, otherwise it’s all my own creation.  There are two variants of the post-TOA year bead because the top set of beads places The Sun and the Stars as being in the following CHB-year (Sept-Aug) to The Tower of Nero, while the bottom set assumes it takes place in the same CHB-year and that something different occurs the year after instead.

Dick: So you ever just want someone to hug you? Like, just because they WANT to. They actually care about you and don't have an ulterior motive. And I know a lot of people have aversions to touch, and that's why they don't hug me very hard or at all, but sometimes I just want to be pulled into a bone crushing hug because they CARE about me and not because they're trying to hurt me, or manipulate me, or stop me from escaping. Is that weird?

41 isn't even particularly old or anything, but dude saw his hairline receding and couldn't take it anymore. And decided to make his mid-life crisis everyone else's problem.

I’m always so excessively hard on myself whenever I experience a normal human emotion. Like the first thought that comes to mind is how to mitigate it and alleviate it and sometimes even pretend I haven’t experienced it. It comes w my toxic perfectionist tendencies but I think that’s so unsustainable. And so today while I was journaling the first thing I wrote was “it’s okay for you to be feeling this, you’re human and no human is perfect” and that was so big for me. Like actually acknowledging I’m not a uniquely horrible person for having flaws. I think the fear of being imperfect has also come w historically having people in my life who just didn’t allow me the space to be a flawed girl in this incredibly confusing and harsh world. But it’s fine bc I don’t need their validation anymore and I don’t care how anyone perceives me. I’m okay w myself. I am legitimately trying my best right now. And that’s all that matters

Fun fact about Yumi and the Nightmare Painter: The Coppermind lists their ages as 21 years old even though the book itself says they're 19. That's because the curators of the Coppermind took into account that the book is being told to a Rosharan with Hoid mentioning he's deliberately converted the ages for them and the wiki converted the ages back accordingly.
