One massive, legitimate way to improve as a writer or artist or in any creative endeavor really, is to become absolutely obsessed with something and to allow yourself to be weird about it. Genuinely mean this btw.

Fest rules
What is this fest about?
Drarry Mini Bang is a collaborative fest in which writers and artists come together to create fanwork. The writers will submit their detailed concept for a fic, and artists will claim one or several (up to you!) to create an art piece.
Who can participate?
You must be at least 18 years old at time of signing up.
We also expect you to treat everyone taking part, including the mods, with respect.
All work must be your own, and we do not allow any kind of fic or art produced with AI.
You may register as both a writer and an artist, but due to the collaborative nature of this event, you cannot make art for your own fic. All the matching will be done through the claiming process, therefore we will not allow pre-made collabs between artists and writers.
What are the requirements for writers?
Writers will need to write an original fic of at least 10k.
The fic needs to be a stand-alone, unpublished fic. You will be asked to submit your fic concept with an estimated word count, a list of tags and possible warnings/triggers and the rating of your fic. If any of these details change after you’ve submitted your concept and before preview day, you need to let the mods know asap. If something changes after the teams have been announced, please talk to your partner and let the mods know if there are any issues.
Please do not share details of your fic before you are matched with an artist. You can share small snippets and talk about your story after the teams have been formed.
Your fic must be complete and has to be beta read before the submission deadline. Should you need an extension, please let us know as soon as you can.
When you fill in your sign up form, you will be given a chance to decide what type of art you would like to receive for your story.
We will cap writers at 25 participants, but we will open sign ups for pinch hitters. We will try our best to find everyone an artist to work with, but due to the collaborative nature of this event, should we not have enough artists, the people whose fics have not been picked might have to be dropped.
What are the requirements for artists?
You can create a variety of original fan work based on the story your writer is working on:
- illustrations, both digital and traditional (they don’t need to be in colour)
- moodboards (at least 6 elements)
- plastic arts (including embroidery and origami)
- playlists (a minimum of 10 songs)
- fic binding
- podfic
We will ask you to create a minimum of one art piece based on the story your writer is working on. If you would like to work with more than one writer (which would make us extremely happy), please let us know in your sign-up form.
There is no cap for artists.
What kind of rating is allowed?
Any rating is allowed for both art and fics, but please tag your work appropriately.
We support SALS (ship and let ship) YKINMKBYKIO (your kink is not my kink, but your kink is okay) and DLDR (don’t like – don’t read), so we will not tolerate any shaming.
For this fest, we will not accept any works that contain darker themes or tropes that are usually covered by the "Dead Dove" tag. If you have any doubts about specific content and would like to know if it will be accepted, please do not hesitate to contact us.
If your work is rated Mature or Explicit, the characters involved must be at least 18 years old (Hogwarts 8th year fic are therefore acceptable with any rating).
What is the schedule for posting?
Sign ups open for writers and artists: 20th January
Sign ups close: 18th February
Deadline for fic concepts and details to be submitted by writers: 18th February
Fic concepts sent to artists: 24th February
Artists claim: 27th February
Teams announced: 2nd-6th March
First check-in: 6th April
Second check-in: 11th May
Last check-in: 8th June
Submissions due: 2nd July
Posting begins: August
Do I need to keep my creation secret?
You can share your WIPs only after the teams have been announced.
This fest is not anonymous.
What if my partner ghosts me or is being rude?
Please let us know and we’ll speak to them. This is a collaborative event - ignoring your partner causes unnecessary stress and anxiety, and we will not tolerate any rudeness or abuse.
We also ask that you stick to deadlines, because we don’t want anyone to be let down and end up without a partner. If you think at any point during the fest that you need to drop out, please please please let us know as soon as you can, so that we can find someone to replace you.
I still have a lot of questions about this, how can I contact you?
Send us an ask, a DM or contact us at  and we will gladly answer.
Your mods @orange-peony, @pato-roldnart, @bubble-gumhead

I legitimately think a lot of people get too hung up on how other people write or draw characters (both in MCYT and outside of it). I sometimes feel like there's so much bitterness towards fellow fandom members just because they've chosen to enjoy a character or corner of the fandom in a different way. Do you picture the characters the same way the creators are IRL? Fun! Do you have a much more fanonized interpretation because you want to separate the characters from creators? Great! Do you tend to lean toward one kind of design overall in your art because that's just how you enjoy the act of creation? Fantastic!
Short, tall, thin, fat, human, hybrid, something entirely undefinable - every single option is correct. Every single option is right. That's the point of creativity and creative liberty. That's the point of fandom and the whole reason why fan art and fan fiction exist - to take what canon gives you and make something, whether that something clings to canon's every note, or if that something turns canon on its head. Especially if it turns canon on its head.
This is a vast fanbase built upon a sandbox game, and any creations we make should be treated the same. It doesn't matter if it doesn't fit the bill for what someone else thinks, and it doesn't matter if it doesn't fit some standard mold. If everyone else views Grian as a parrot avian, but you love writing him as a cod? Do it! If a lot of folks depict Tango as a blazeborn, but you fucking love the idea of him being an android? Well, for god's sake, what's stopping you? Make him an android! Does everyone else write Bdubs as short, but you think it'd be really funny if he was taller than half the hermits, so the short jokes are even more ridiculous? Then, holy shit, I wanna see that!
But to roll back to the point, fan creations is meant to be fun. And all of you out there being picky? As a viewer of other peoples' art and writing, don't go telling people they're "doing it wrong". Don't be critical. Don't tell someone they need to "do better" if their portrayal doesn't line up with what's in your head. There's no rules here. And similarly, there's no quota we need to meet on variety. There's no law someone is breaking if they're not following your expectations. If you're a viewer of art and fics, and you're pissed at someone because you believe they don't draw or write someone tall enough or short enough or thin enough or fat enough or young enough or old enough - make it yourself. Don't detract from someone else's joy just because their version of having fun in the fandom doesn't line up with yours.
People are going to create what they love. People write and draw from a place of inspiration and enjoyment and fun. If they choose to share it, they're doing that for free and of their own free will. They didn't share it for you. Fan artists and fan writers aren't here to be your dancing monkeys, we're here to just have fun. If you aren't seeing enough of whatever you're expecting to see, then don't demand it from other people who were proud enough of a piece of art to share it with the world. Make it yourself.

FAQ:
What is MCYTBLR AU Fest? MCYTBLR AU Fest is a minibang-type event where writers and artists come together to create fanworks centred on MCYT and set in an alternate universe from canon.
How does it work? Writers will have a month to start work on a draft. After a month, at the half-way mark of their draft, they create a short summary/synopsis of their fic, which is posted anonymously for artists to view and claim. Teams are assigned by mods, and then teams will then have another month of creation time. Artists will create art based on the story they chose, and writers will finish their fic (minimum 5k words).
What type of MCYT is included? We welcome creations based on any SMP, whether or not they have a canon tag on Ao3. Mianite, DSMP, Hermitcraft, 3rd Life, Lifesteal, Witchcraft SMP— it's all welcome.
Can I join if my Art is a Playlist/Web Weave? You can particpate as an artist if your art is:
Digital/Traditional Art
Podfic
Playlist
Web Weave
What are the requirements for art? The requirements for different forms of art are:
Digital or Traditional art: a minimum of one piece, finished, inspired by the author's work.
Podfic: a podfic of the author's work, edited to whatever a baseline level of editing is for you.
Playlists: a minimum of one playlist inspired by the author's work per 5k, rounding up, to a limit of three required playlists. Playlists must be a minimum of an hour each.
Web Weaves: a minimum of one web weave inspired by the author's work per 5 k, rounding up, to a limit of two required web weaves, with at least ten elements each.
Other Art Form: other art forms such as fan games, original songs, would fall under this category. If you wanted to sign up with an Other art form, you need to contact the mod team and work out what minimum expectations would be for your art.
If I want to make more web weaves, can I? You can make as many pieces of art as you wish, the limit is just on what is required/expected by the mod team. For example, if your writer wrote a 10k work, you would be required to make two web weaves– but you could do as many as you want. If your writer wrote a 50k work, you would still only be required to make two web weaves, but you can do as many as you want.
Is anything required from me if I'm working with a particular type of artist? In general the requirement is just to be collaborative and communicative with your artist, but the one exception is if you are working with a podficcer. A podficcer can't start work until your work is complete (including editing), so to make sure they actually have time to record, anyone working with a podficcer will be required to finish a week early (so your writing completion deadline would be to finish by the 10th of July, instead of the 17th). In addition, podficcers will be generally expected to post near the end of posting week, so that they have two weeks to do the recording.
I heard there was web weaves, can I sign up for web weaves only? To increase matching opportunities, as a creator you must opt in to at least two types of art.
Is shipping allowed? Yes. For the comfort of the greatest number of participants, we ask that participants make a good-faith effort to ensure that any shipping is boundary-respecting, but because there is no broad fandom-wide consensus about how that is defined in specific cases (whether it's okay to write beeduo as /r or /p is an obvious case) or between specific fandoms (lifesteal approach to shipping is different from HBG is different from DSMP), the mods will not be policing any specific understanding of boundaries across the event. The event will operate on Don't Like Don't Read, in that everyone will have the chance to pick for themself if they are comfortable working with any specific ship, romantic or platonic, and it will not be permitted to change the nature of a relationship to /r after teams are assigned.
Is NSFW allowed? Yes, nsfw is permitted as long as it respects creator boundaries. When pitching a work, it must be clearly stated that the work contains NSFW content. To sign up to create an NSFW work everyone on the team must be 18+, and adding NSFW to a work after teams have been assigned is not permitted, even if everyone on the team is 18+. For the comfort of the greatest number of people in the exchange and the mod team, nothing that would warrant the tags Underage, Rape/Noncon, Dubcon, or Incest would be permitted.
If noncon isn't permitted, is non-consentual touching (platonic) allowed? As technically a punch in the face counts as non-consensual touching, and pvp is a classic part of most MCYT canons, we find banning all nonconsensual contact to be unnecessarily restrictive. As long as nonconsensual contact is not sexual in nature, it is permitted, however, it must be tagged for adequately along with any other potentially triggering content.
Do you allow dark or violent content? Yes. The lore of many mcyt servers includes death games, abuse, cannibalism, murder-for-hire, and other dark or violent themes. However, all potentially triggering content must be tagged for and those tags must be part of the sign-up, so collaboraters can make an informed choice to get infolved or not. Moreover, if your fic is rated E for any reason (including violence or gore), your team must be 18+.
How can I get involved? You can participate in this event as a:
Author
Artist
Pinch Hitter (Artist)
Pinch Hitter (Writer)
Beta Reader
You can even sign up for multiple roles, as long as you're very sure you can make your deadlines!
What is a Pinch Hitter? A pinch hitter is a person who saves the day and steps in when the original creator is unable to deliver their work for whatever reason, making a new work on an accelerated timeline. In case of pinch hitting a fanfic, you will will be asked to either write using the original writer's outline, or pitch a new story for the artist to pick among. If you are an artist, you will step in to make a new piece of art for a writer whose original artist dropped out.
Can I participate as a beta reader? Yes! Matching with a Beta Reader will be optional, but creators will have the opportunity to sign up to have a Beta Reader join their team for brainstorming, accountability, spellcheck, editing, or whatever else they need. Matching beta readers will be first come first serve.
What kind of a summary will I provide as a writer? How long or detailed? We ask that you keep your summary to two paragraphs or shorter, about as long as the AO3 Summary + Author's Note boxes. When you write out this summary, you should be about halfway through your draft, so you will have a general sense of how the story goes. In addition to a description of your fic, we'll ask that you list out the Server it takes place on, what type of AU it is, any ships (romantic or platonic), the expected word count, what age group of people you are okay working with, and any trigger tags that you expect to take place in the story.
When do I have to join the discord? You have the option to join the dicord and hang out as soon as creation starts on May 13, and if you are signing up either as a Beta Reader or wanting to be matched with a Beta Reader, you need to join the discord before signups close on May 15. If you don't need a beta reader or you already have someone you normally work with, you only have to join the discord before author sign ups close for artist matching, which is June 15.
Why do authors have to be halfway through their draft to sign up? How are you checking this? This is both to decrease the number of people who drop out halfway through, and to make sure that the artist definitely has something to work with. If you write your entire fic in the weekend before the posting deadline, that means the artist has a matter of days or hours for them to do their work, which isn't fair. Writers will be expected to submit a google doc with their half-draft in it at sign-up, for mods to verify word count.
How does team assignment work? We will release a document with all the summaries in it, and shortly afterwards we will release a sign-up form. Artists will be expected to list out out a top-five of stories they want to work with, and mods will match artists with stories on a first-come-first-served basis.
What happens if there are more artists than authors, or more authors than artists? If there are more artists, some fics will be assigned multiple artists. If there are more authors, we will put in place a question where artists can specify that they'd be willing to make multiple pieces, and a (hopefully small) number of artists would be assigned multiple teams.
What if all the fics I list have already been assigned? If artists outnumber authors, mods will set your list aside for later. Once every fic has one artist, we will assign you as a secondary artist to one of your chosen fics. If authors outnumber artists, you will need to submit another claim. While mods will update the form throughout the claiming period and remove fully claimed fics, there may be some delay with removing fics if we are unavailable.
I’m in [insert time zone here]. What if I’m not awake when claims open? There will be a spot to input your time zone in the discord. Mods will try to open the claims at a time that works for as many artists as possible. The fic summaries will also be available for 24 hours before claims so that everyone can read the summaries and pick out the ones that sound most interesting to them. We will aim for claims to open between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. for as many artists as possible across all time zones. If claims fall outside that zone for you, you'll be able to contact a mod and we'll work out an alternative method for claims for you.
I don't know what time zone I'm in? Go to timeanddate.com and enter the nearest major city, and it will tell you your current time zone.
What's a check-in and how do they work? Check-ins are there to make sure everyone is on track to finish their piece in time, and to communicate any issues with the mods! If you know that you won’t be able to check in on a specific date (lack of internet, etc), please contact the mods in advance.
How long should my fic be? The minimum word count is 5,000 words! There is no maximum word count, but we ask you to be mindful of how much you can actually create in these two months.
If I wrote a multi-chapter work, do I have to have it all posted by the end of Posting Week? You must complete your work by the end of posting week, but in the cases of longer works, you may want to stretch out posting. In cases where you want to extend posting, you will be able to send in your draft to be verified by the mods, and then post just 40% of the draft during posting week.
What does AU mean in this context? AU stands for Alternate Universe and in this case means anything that would make the work not able to be tagged as canon compliant. Alternate endings, role reversals, complete setting or plot swaps, and crossovers all count. As this is a fest specifically to celebrate AUs, we ask that the AU be a significant and celebrated part of the work, not something that could be skipped if you aren't paying attention.
Can I create two pieces of art? Absolutely! There is no maximum for number of pieces you want to create, but again, be mindful of not biting off more than you can chew in a month of creation time.
Can I sign up with two fics? You are welcome to sign up as part of the fest with multiple fics, especially given that the word count is reasonably achievable for many people. However, if you do so, we will ask that you prioritize which fic you want to be matched on first, and you will only receive a match to your secondary fic after everyone else has an artist. We're going to proritize every particpant getting a team before we prioritize every story getting a team.
Can I sign up with a writing buddy— as part of a collab team? You are welcome to sign up as a collaborative team! We ask that you make sure you work together well, and when you sign up for an artist, you must declare that you're a team, so people know that they'll be getting multiple writers and not one.
Can I submit a fic that is part of a larger story? All stories must stand alone, you can't have it so that your artist has to read other works to understand your existing work. The fic also must be written specifically for the event. We ask that you not submit a summary for a fic that was already written prior to the start of the event. Brainstorming or outlining starting early is fine.
What if I need to drop out? It is your responsibility to communicate with us if you need to drop out of the event for any reason, and we do need that communication. We know that life is no respecter of fic and art deadlines, so no hard feelings if something happens. However, we would hate for any writer to end up having no art for their fic, so please think about this if you are thinking of dropping out close to reveals. Likewise, it would suck if an artist put a lot of effort into creating art for a fic that ends up not being written, so authors, please inform us in advance if you must drop out or think you will not be able to complete your fic on time. Dropping out after the last check-in without informing the mods will result in not being permitted to take part in further events run by this mod team.
I have a question not answered here? Send us an ask on tumblr, contact @antimony-medusa on tumblr or discord!

How do you want to be known on Tumblr?
Baylee
More below...
When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?
I think it was in 2018, and I first played Bloodbound 1.
When and why did you join Choices fandom?
It was December 2020. I was really struggling at that point; my whole life had changed, and I still hadn't come to terms with it after a year. It was just an escape.
How did you pick your blog name?
It’s just my name and what I do.
Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!
It’s just a pfp i did over halloween. It’d me dressed like Sally from Nightmare before Christmas.
Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both?
I used to want to be a writer. I really love writing stories, I’ve never really written any fanfiction, but technically, I can draw and write.
How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?
It’ll be four years in December since I’ve been creating Choices-related stuff, but ever since I was a little kid, I’d get obsessed with different shows/ characters and write/ draw them.
What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?
My favourite book is definitely Bloodbound. I love drawing BB related stuff because I have a slight obsession with Kamiliah
Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?
It was a drawing I did for @ao719. I think I would change a lot if I were to draw it now. I don’t really like it anymore, and my style has definitely changed over the years.  I find it really embarrassing looking back at old drawings.
What is your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created?
A BB animation (I still haven't finished), but it was really fun writing the story and designing/ drawing everything.
Do you have a creation that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?
I never expected any animations to do well and was very surprised when they did. I’m really sure that I would like to get more attention.
If you could only draw one style or type of art for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
I don't know. I’m moving into my own flat soon, so I’ve been drawing some scenery pieces I’m going to put up once I’m there. I find them really therapeutic to draw, so maybe that.
Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs?
Sometimes.
What element of art do you struggle with most?
Probably finishing the pieces off. By that point I’ve stared at it for so many hours that all I can see are  the problems with it.
Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
Absolutely, I’m going through a lot right now so there’s quite a lot of things that i really do want to finish but i just dont have the motivation.
If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first?
Maybe. My big brother taught me how to draw, so occasionally, I’ll let him look at some of my drawings.
16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?
I can’t think of anyone published that I looked up to or have really inspired my artwork. There’s definitely people that i know in my life that have.
Which one of your creations would you like to see fiction written about?
I have absolutely no idea lol
Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art?
Yeah, I love creating new characters and really animations doing animations of my original characters.
What other hobbies do you have?
A lot of crafty things. I was taught how to sew, knit, and crochet as a kid, and those are things I still enjoy doing now.

When you post, please remember to:
Tag me @i-prefer-the-term-antihero, @phmonth, and/or @this-idiots-left-eye in your posts to make sure I reblog them! (My main blog is your best bet).
Tag #phmonth23 in your tags! I will go through that tag and check if I've missed any direct tags. (If you don't see your piece reblogged on this blog after doing both these methods, please dm me!)
Either put a link, or a “read more” on long fics (or long posts in general), so they're easier to reblog!
NSFW content is allowed, but please make sure it’s clear it’s NSFW/tagged that way, and is beneath a read more so anyone who doesn’t want to see it doesn’t have to!
I also made a collection on Ao3 for writers! Don't hesitate to add your fics to it!
Don’t forget to join our discord if you haven’t! It’s a fun place to discuss the series and more easily share your creations!
You are free to have fun with this!! As I said, as long as you tag it, NSFW is allowed! Tagging ships is nice too. You can pretty much do whatever you want with the prompts!

(Do note, however, that you will have to pay for shipping, especially if it needs to be sent internationally! )
Lastly, Vncmonth!
You guys voted to have a Vanitas no Carte month, like last year! Not sure when that'll be, I'm thinking January-February. I will work on that prompt list after the setup here is done as well!
Feel free to get started on making stuff early! (But please wait to post until the month has started!) I'm so excited to see what you make! Thank you for all your support!

4/12/2024
Hello again, everyone...
Firstly, I just wanted to say that I think I'm more or less answering my own question from last week, specifically in that I'm hoping to capture all of the moments that canon either didn't think of or else could have included but chose not to, finding other artists and writers who feel as strongly as I do, and then passing all of that missing knowledge onto the ones that want it the most.
For example...I wanted to make sure that Omega and Crosshair weren't secretly (still) chipped, but that moment never came even though Captain Rex himself suggested that everyone not confirmed to be without one was a ticking time bomb.
I wanted to see Omega and Crosshair discuss the loss of Tech onscreen, but even though these two both had a clear relationship with him, that moment never came.
And lastly I want to see CX-2's face to know who he is under that mask...but, tragically, though I'm not the only one who has suspicions, that moment might not come.
This and a growing list of unaddressed content is pretty much the difficulty I've had from the very start of this thing, so...maybe that's my real purpose here. Maybe, alongside a lot of other talented artists and writers, I'm meant to help fill in the blanks for others as well as myself, if only to make the growing list of unresolved issues that this show has had since the beginning not feel so overwhelming any more.
Maybe we were also always meant to start telling our own tales about these mega-corporate creations, and in so doing, change them from some way to rake in more cash and give them more personality, more likes and dislikes, more history, heck, possibly even more life if it means our own lives aren't so isolated and confined to the rules of some CEO in a suit.
So, whether or not we follow their social media accounts, watch their shows, and buy their merchandise...I hope none of us ever stop building our own myths and legends about these heroes. Whatever we do or wherever we go, I hope we don't stop creating.
Now...with that thought in mind, let's get to the weekly picks.

ATTENTION BLIND CHANNEL FANS
Guess what? I still hate Christmas.
Last year’s event was an incredible success, so I’m officially bringing BC BLOOD MASS back for 2023!
If you missed us last year: basically, it came to my attention that there’s actually a lot of people in the fandom like me, who don’t celebrate Christmas. Either because they practice a different religion, or because they have trauma surrounding the holiday. I realized, I wasn’t the only person dreading the usual influx of Christmas themed fanfic and fanart coming in December.
So I decided to host an anti-Christmas event. Last year’s theme was vampires, and y’all came up with some incredible vampire AU fics.
But to keep things interesting, this year’s theme is: DEMON AU! 😈
Tumblr media
All works MUST be submitted to the official AO3 collection by December 24th, 2023.
The collection will be revealed on December 25th, 2023!
All pairings are welcome, including both M/M and reader-inserts!
While this event is primarily for fanfic writers, fan artists and edit-makers are also invited and encouraged to participate!
NSFW content is allowed!
All fics created for this event must be Demon AUs. Other supernatural creatures (such as angels) can play a role in your story, but a least ONE main character MUST be a demon.
Including characters from other bands (Lost Society, Shiraz Lane, etc) is allowed but at least one main character MUST be member of Blind Channel!
Christmas, or any celebrations thereof, MUST NOT play a major role in your creation for this event.
Please tag your creation with #bcbloodmass2023 if you participate!
Let’s have a devilishly good time! 😈

Hey! It's coming up fast, but please consider checking out @barricadescon 2023!!! This year's virtual con will be 14-16 July and features both academic and fandom tracks!
I personally am part of two panels this year:
featuring the fabulous @thepiecesofcait and @thecandlesticksfromlesmis wherein we discuss our processes for characterizing the Amis in our respective mediums (writing, art, and film), and
with @eldritchw1tch and @grantairelibere , a social event where we read Preliminary Gayeties, eat, and drink along with the characters.
Even if these events don't speak to you, I strongly recommend checking out the con's events page to see if anything piques your interest! It's only $10, the money goes toward a good cause, and there are many scholarships available to anyone who wants to attend but can't afford to!

the "origin" of the witcher
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this year, i set forth for myself a very important goal. i began to seek the original publication of the first, original witcher story.
this was a personal goal as much as it was a "fan" goal, and at first, it originated as an amusing pipe dream, a hopeful "what if," a "if i should be so lucky".
i had become interested in the origins of the witcher through reading interviews with sapkowski, translated and published on r/wiedzmin by gracious fans. these interviews are often from the 1990s or early 2000s (the good ones, anyways), and thus, often reference the very beginning of the witcher. there was one particular interview which struck me, in which sapkowski said this:
"My book witcher is real and original. All adaptations are only more or less successful and have all the corresponding disadvantages of adaptations. There is only one original "Witcher". He is mine and no one will take him away from me." — Interview with Sapkowski in the Polish magazine Polityka
this one original "witcher". yes, of course he is referring to his geralt, the geralt that lives in my heart, but i also thought to myself, the witcher as he as a concept was originally conceived - the first publication. i need to see it. i need to see this publication, in person. if not for me as a fan, for me as a writer, an artist. i need proof that this ever existed." later in the year, i realized this was not only a dream, but a real possibility...
but first, let me introduce the witcher, for those that do not know the story. not the short story "the witcher," but the story of "the witcher"—of its creation.
sapkowski's story
Tumblr media
36 years ago, andrzej sapkowski's short story, "witcher", was first published in the december 1986 edition of polish sci-fi and fantasy magazine fantastyka (later renamed nowa fantastyka). sapkowski, at the time, had been working as a tradesman selling leather, fur, and textiles… though he was a fan of fantasy since boyhood, in which he obsessed over arthurian legend, and throughout his life had been an avid reader. during the 1980s, sapkowski lost his job as the national company went bankrupt, and he turned more to his writing, as he had previously written some short stories and had them published in magazines.
at the time, he did not subscribe to fantastyka, and the edition in which the short story contest was announced indeed belonged to his son—his only son, his now late son, krzysztof, who asked him to write and enter the contest. the senior sapkowski's reply? "no problem, i'll write."
fantastyka magazine, as mentioned, encompassed works of both science fiction and fantasy genres. sapkowski wrote "witcher" in hopes of being a standout competitor - assuming that most applicants would write "hard science fiction," he chose to write fantasy. unexpectedly to him, it turned out that the fantasy genre was written by the majority of those who submitted stories!
the witcher, though, was indeed a standout entry. because it dealt with the familiar, but through inverting, changing, subverting, and being original, exciting the reader:
"Geralt of Rivia is the character of my first story, of my literary debut. In my first encounter with the Fantasy and SF readers, my proposition was to do something atypical, completely new. I had to rethink the fairy tales, where some problem with a dragon in a kingdom was solved, the king was disposed to offer to the first one which passed his daughter and half the kingdom for solving it. My vision of Fantasy is almost real. You have to believe that which occurs in the stories, because they are not a fairy tale. No one comes to believe that a king can be so stupid as to give half the kingdom and his daughter (...) I re-wrote the story, since it is not a poor shoemaker who kills the dragon and saves the kingdom, but instead a professional, who works for money. I have turned to construct the fantasy story: it is almost real, you have to feel it, to believe all. It is not the typical fairy tale, all is fucking real." — Interview with Sapkowski at the Feria del Libro (Spain, 2008)
the "lore" of the witcher
this is why a new reader does not need to know anything prior about the witcher in order to grasp the books, because "the witcher" was originally a collection of short stories boasting little world or "lore" to speak of:
for instance, elder speech is not a conlang, it is a deliberate crafting of various european languages together.
"No, I didn't [create a new language for my books, like Tolkien]. (...) I limited myself to only creating a couple sentences, whose entire point was for me to avoid putting a footnote there, because it annoys me beyond belief, when someone writes ''drapatuluk papatuluk'' and underneath the translation says ''close the doors or we'll get flies''. My point was for this made up language to be acceptible for a Pole, who's well read and can see through foreign languages; so it'd be clear without a footnote. Henceforth I decided to construct the language based on languages that Polish people know well: French, English, Latin and German, and just for funsies I threw in some Celtic, so no one cared for specific words, but everybody understood more or less what it meant. I created it as a cocktail language." — Sapkowski on anime, manga, D&D, adaptations, the origins of the Witcher and Elder Speech (2001)
sapkowski never drew a map for publishing—though a map was drawn by czech translator stanislav komárek (and husband of illustrator jana komárková, what a power couple!).
"That's where the biggest problem lies, stemming from the simple fact that I've never had the ambition to create worlds. Never! The world of the Witcher was always an allegory to me. I've never done what's supposed to be a Commandment of every fantasy writer, especially one that writes a longer story or a novel. He starts with the heavy duty of… cartography, meaning he has to draw a MAP. (...) I've never bothered with that and it was on purpose. It came from the fact that my world was supposed to be an allegory and from the fact that I was doing a different take on fairy tales! Themes and problems were more important, these two words, from which I usually built the title and that often appeared in the dialogue, was more important. — Andrzej Sapkowski about accusations of sexism, postmodernism, adaptations and why there is no map - part 2
and as we all know from francesca's wonderful demonstration via apples and a pomegranate, explanations of bloodlines only enter into the fray in the fifth book.
for all intents and purposes, the motto of the witcher's "lore" should be: "the story comes first!"
"And write so that it would be interesting to read. Questions? Answers? Who the fuck needs them! This is a novel, not an instruction to a DVD player. As a writer, as a prose writer, I do not read any sermons to anyone in the church, I do not push speeches in Hyde Park. I'm a storyteller. I tell stories to give readers pleasure, create heroes to arouse sympathy / dislike, situations, to amuse, to laugh, upset, frighten - and, of course, to make them move their brains, to think. But this is a story, it's a farce, not a conversion, not a vocation, not faith." — Interview with Sapkowski "The work of my life is yet to come."
back to getting published
Tumblr media
"witcher" placed third in the contest, but its publication was soon followed by fan demand for more stories of the "witcher" variety and universe. it was shortly followed by "road with no return" in 1988, "a grain of truth" in 1989, and "the lesser evil” and "a question of price" in 1990 (and more in the first half of the decade, as well).
soon, sapkowski's name was featured on the very cover of fantastyka to excite readers:
Tumblr media
note that there is not one, but THREE exclamation marks on the cover of this edition from september 1990, the one with "a question of price". [unlike the other pictures in this post, this is not my photo]
soon afterwards, sapkowski was able to secure publishing with supernowa—a distinct challenge, because nearly no publisher would "risk" publishing a polish author:
“Finally, in Poland, the moment for a fantasy was absolutely crucial: "SuperNova" published my "Sword of Destiny". This was a real event, because until then there was hardly anyone among the Polish publishers who would have risked doing something like this. Polish fantasy was published by some amateurs, losing money on every edition.” (...) in Western countries, (...) the average fan always chooses a book of the familiar Anglo-Saxon in the bookstore - the exotic name of the author will force him to refrain from buying. Unfortunately, publishers also know about this, therefore, picking up a book from "some Poland" or "some Moldavia" - even a good one - he will think ten times before publishing.” — Andrzej Sapkowski and Stanisław Bereś "History and fantasy" part 2
as that is a whole other loooong story... let's get back to the short story.
the story as it is today
this is all a very abridged version of the story, and i've cut out a lot of the historical context and cultural context surrounding the subject for brevity. i may have mentioned that this came about for me throughout the entire year of 2022 - and it really has been a product of the year. i actually received the copy of fantastyka in september, now four months ago, but for various reasons i decided to keep it between me and friends (if you're a part of the books discord server, you may have seen this already!)
the largest reason is that i want to pay as much respect to this as i possibly can. since september, i've been working on a video to feature the magazine and through its presence, explain the context and history surrounding the witcher as i have done in this post, just with... more history and context. i want to do my research and have more conversations before i record and publish a video like that. and not just some, but more. this isn't something i feel comfortable reading a wikipedia article about and saying, "cool, i think i know the whole story now." especially as an american fan—especially knowing and feeling how the witcher has been treated over these past couple of years. so, expect it, but maybe not soon. though there will likely be other things along the way on my youtube channel :)
my story
for me, this year marks 5 years since i got into the witcher. it was the fall of 2017 when i got interested, and the winter of 2017 when i got serious about it.
the witcher came to me at a really difficult time in my life. my parents separated in the march of 2018. it was not a peaceful separation. the last spring break i had in high school ended with a restraining order and the changing of the locks on our door.
so imagine the solace i felt being able to point to an actually healthy father-daughter relationship with a middle-aged father and a teenage girl. one such as this:
‘Where to now?’ asked Geralt, looking at the column of smoke, a smudged streak discolouring the sky glowing pink in the dawn. ‘Who do you still have to pay back, Ciri?’ She glanced at him and he immediately regretted his question. He suddenly desired to hug her, dreamed of embracing her, cuddling her, stroking her hair. Protecting her. Never allowing her to be alone again. To encounter evil. To encounter anything that would make her desire revenge. — Lady of the Lake, Ch. 11
or of an alcoholic, acknowledging and owning up to his past of violence:
‘Each time I became more savage,’ the vampire continued. ‘And as time went on I was getting worse. (...) Disappointment and grief, as you know, is a great alibi. I was looking for justification for my behavior, and it was the perfect excuse. Everyone seemed to understand. Even I thought I understood. And I matched the theory to practice.’ — Baptism of Fire, Ch. 7
and intentionally pursuing sobreity in the present:
‘I beg your forgiveness, gentlemen,’ the alchemist said. ‘I do not drink. My health is no longer what is was, so I had to give up… many pleasures.’ ‘Not even a sip?’ ‘It is a matter of principle.’ Regis said quietly. ‘I never violate the principles I set for myself.’ — Baptism of Fire, Ch. 3
‘I do not touch blood. Not at all and never.’ — Baptism of Fire, Ch. 7
later, when i had begun to recover my senses from shock, i felt rage. i felt a need for revenge, a sick hatred and vile indignation for what had happened. i thought there must be something wrong with me, to have such a reaction. but i then realized how natural, though dangerous, it was:
‘(...) I know what I have to do. I’m a witcher!’ ‘You're an unstable young person!’ he exploded. ‘You're a child who's been through traumatic experiences; a damaged child, on the verge of a nervous breakdown. And more than that, you're sick with a craving for revenge! Blinded by a lust for retribution! Do you not understand that?’ ‘I understand it better then you!’ she yelled. ‘Because you have no idea what it means to be hurt! You have no idea of revenge, for no one has ever truly wronged you!’ — Tower of the Swallow, Ch. 10
but lastly, i learned that the tragedies of my past do not bind me to a tragic fate:
They rode straight into the setting sun. Leaving behind them the darkening valley. Behind them was the lake, the enchanted lake, the blue lake as smooth as a polished sapphire. They left behind them the boulders on the lakeside. Thepines on the hillsides. That was all behind them. And before them was everything. — Lady of the Lake, Ch. 12
to be clear, i'm not sharing my story for pity. like as triss says when recounting the battle of sodden, "And then I saw what they had done to me, and I started to howl, howl like a beaten dog, like a battered child—Leave me alone! Don’t worry, I’m not going to cry. I’m not a little girl from a tiny tower in Maribor anymore," (Blood of Elves, Ch. 3) ...
i'm sharing this story because i think it's relevant to understanding the witcher. the witcher is about a realistic view of fairytales and the fantasy genre, a view that is often dark and showcases all the sorrow and violence in the world, but a view that really centers the people of the world, their relationships, their motivations, and what makes them fight to keep living. it's about family, friendship, laughter at the end of the world... and one doesn't need to experience a personal trauma to understand these very human, very instrinsic experiences. one also does not need extensive research to be able to jump into the witcher.
fantastyka and me
even if i'm not prepared at the moment to publish an extensive historical research and analysis on this subject, i just wanted to make this post today to remind all witcher fans what the witcher really is, where it really came from, what it all really means.
reading through this copy of fantastyka, what really struck me is the community of it—there is an entire personals section for finding copies of fantasy books, there are opinion polls, critical essays, and an entire novel published in three installments across monthly editions. this must not have been just a magazine, but a lifeline for sci-fi and fantasy fans at that time. i see so many parallels between the sci-fi and fantasy fans of these pages and my experience as a witcher fan in the community. this is a piece of history, "the witcher" is a piece of history, and i am honored to not only know of it, but to have seen it, touched it, and proven to myself that yes, this is all real. "all is fucking real."
now, for my favorite picture of myself:
Tumblr media
and as expressed by the editors of the december 1986 edition of fantastyka...
i wish you a fantastic christmas and new year... this time, new year 2023 ;)

OMEGA VALORANT AGENTS AND THEIR COMICS
In an effort to convince the public of the necessity of the Omega Protocol aka. Legion, the world governments on the other Earth commissioned a number of artists and writers to create propaganda pieces for the Omega Agents.  A few agents opted out or provided direct input as to what they wanted.
Tumblr media
“Threat in the Mirror” is by far one of the most famous copy of the Legion produced comics and most popular
A four part saga with the agents all starting out with fabricated origins to make them more like characters than they really were
Phoenix was literally a student but they wrote in that had powers since birth and was a vigilante in London
Skye was helping with environmental sciences as a surveyor but the comic changed it to her communing with nature itself in some kind of temple
Fictionalizing the lives of agents was part of the deal
The ‘Alpha threat’ is presented as Kingdom executives that cloned the agents and stole radianite to create doomsday weapons.  Not entirely true but not too wrong
The 1st part is them working together to beat some Kingdom grunts and getting enlisted and by the 3rd part they detonate a spike successfully at the end
They don’t show the after effects of the spikes at all, just showing them ‘absorbing the radianite in a harmless flash’
The epilogue is them gearing up for an all out assault on Kingdom HQ which hasn’t happened yet
A lot of crossover events in this comic between other previous issues of other comics
Tumblr media
Pure insanity with weird science and geek romance, this is the ultimate nerd comics with the strangest concepts ever
Microverses, aliens, mutant creatures, giant bugs, and all sorts of silver age comic weirdos are the typical threats but are often coupled with KJ and Raze’s relationship going through change
Yeah the shipping is ongoing but it's pretty uniform at this point, especially cause both Omega agents are engaged
There was an issue commemorating it, with them kissing on the cover
The ‘tentacled terrors’ in this copy were some kind of octopus alien thing that were created in some kind of experiment
They quickly became a popular symbol and to make some money off of the merchandising rights, the company manufactured plushes of them
The plushes serve as the Omega version of the squid plush Neon owns
Friendly Fire is full of romance tropes cranked to 11 because of the comic’s pulpy nature.  This extends to the side characters like Gekko, Neon, Jett, and Phoenix
Omega Yoru is included in the Japanese spin-off version, making those issues a collector’s item
In terms of propaganda, it functions ok by making the audience like the agents more and sympathize with them.  Most of it is made up but the KJ and Raze stuff is 100% true
Tumblr media
It's pretty much the Spawn comic but less edgy and more story driven and a little more toned down
The whole origin of Omen is unknown to everyone but the fans have speculated on what is canon or not
Viper’s involvement in his creation was understated in the comic as to maintain secrecy and keep herself from feeling too much guilt
Current story is that Omen was an scientist studying a ‘shadow world’ who had his experiment sabotaged that came back to avenge himself by attacking Kingdom and threats
Most stories are mostly an overpowered badass with issues massacring nameless soldiers and scaring the hell out of the villain of the week
Viper is sort of a confidant and source of advice in the comic, while Cypher is sort of the ‘guy in the chair’ for all of them
From time to time they focus in on Omen’s lack of mercy and loose connection to humanity, which forms most of the drama that keeps readers invested
When Fade allowed herself to be illustrated in the comic, it was an instant match made in heaven for her to be Omen’s sidekick
A bounty hunter was the perfect foil to someone who had lost all direction and needed help.  In the comics their powers come from the same accident
Overall it's a great antihero comic but the Omega Omen could not care less about it and neither does Fade
Tumblr media
The first draft of the Valorant Legion’s comics
It was created by a legend in the illustration community that used to make classic superhero comics.  The author was like a mixture of Ditko and Eisner in terms of comic genius
Propagandists working with the Legion had a meet and greet with many of the agents, and from then on the the author elected a few agents to follow
KJ was obvious as a protagonist, seeing as she had a relationship with Raze adding some motivation and she was young like the target audience
The bots and her technical genius were definitely an important choice because they could easily symbolize the efforts the governments made to protect people, especially places like Pearl
Brimstone being the good-cop leader was a choice made because of the fact Brim’s image was already iconic as a hardworking soldier and great leader
Viper was a foil to the group, which helped balance the complexity of the crew and added some variety to personality
Omega Viper was mostly indifferent to the author, but did want her comic version to exclude some of her background
She is usually the lancer of the group, and willing to do the more extreme things
Cypher was a hard character to introduce, his relaxed nature but sharp intellect made it difficult to decide if he should add more darkness or be more witty
It was settled that he’d be a clever wordsmith and the group’s heart to an extent, but the author left out the parts of Cypher’s life he’d rather keep quiet
He became one of those joke-like characters who are competent but get into funny situations.  One liner and wordplay king.
It’s played for laughs to cut dramatic tension but Cypher coming back from the dead is a common story beat if he disappears somehow.  Cypher keeps things upbeat
Omen is like the opposite of this idea.  He is the group’s strong, silent one who much is not known about
His origin is kept secret but it’s made clear he wants revenge on Alpha earth
What makes the character work well with the comic Protocol is the fact he serves as an outsider at times and lets other characters play off his condition
KJ as the newcomer, Viper as the lancer, Brim as the leader, Cypher as the heart, and Omen as the emotional core felt correct for a comic in the author’s eyes
With the team assembled, the comic launched with incredible success and totally hit with most teens and young kids
As more issues were printed, more characters like Raze, Sage, and Sova saw more appearances and got storylines
It was a hit to say the least
Tumblr media
This comic is part Captain America and part Suicide Squad, but the two protags also have a rivalry going on
Sova is a side character in this and gets a lot of fangirls much to Omega Sova’s annoyance
Breach and Brim are placed on missions to demolish terrorist groups and cybernetic armies.  They blow shit up and walk away like the A-Team in a lot of the stories
KJ and Raze are the tech people and there are often many panels dedicated to the badass inventions in action.  Lots of cool lasers and rockets
Playtime’s Over is a new issue that has them fighting against a newly formed militia that has allied with Alpha Earth and is using android soldiers to steal radianite
The leader of the group is a sort of like a doll maker, hence Playtime’s Over
It’s got Metal Gear inspired parts for certain, especially when Breach suplexes a mech and Brimstone uses stealth tactics by hiding in a box
The bickering the two have is fodder for the fans to create god knows how many rivals to lovers fics.  Omega Breach constantly teases Brimstone about this, much to his chagrin
It’s cheesy action and explosions with two badasses that one up each other, so it's not super well written in terms of plot but is beyond entertaining
Comic Headcanon at Alpha Valorant
After the siege on Pearl and any time after where they visited it, the younger agents would loot that one comic store
They were weirded out by the stories being of them at first, seeing media based on you is quite jarring
Eventually many of them started to read through the boxes that were brought back as ‘recon’
It’s become a ritual to sneak into the store and see what issues are available to take and who’s in what comic
It leads to so many in jokes
One right of passage new duelists have is finding their first appearance in the Legion comic book series

February Creator of the Month: Noesapphic
Tumblr media
Each month, CFWC highlights one of our talented fanfic writers or artists, and this month’s creator of the month is the lovely @noesapphic!   The writer is selected at random. More info can be found on the navigation page. Past COTM's can be found here.

Tumblr Blog Masterlist
How do you want to be known on Tumblr?
Noe is fine, really!
More below...
1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?
I started in 2018. I was bored in a friend's house and fighting good old insomnia when I saw the app and tried it for funsies. The first book was 'High School Story'.
2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?
I joined around late 2018 early 2019 and I had just left my community in Amino because the admin had gone full puritanical dictator and I was curious about Tumblr.
3- How did you pick your blog name?
It was simple: my nickname is Noe and I am a sapphic (aka lesbian). It's a no-brainer, really.
4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!
It was a reblogged quote. I related to what it said and I reblogged it
5- Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both?
I write fanfiction. God did not grant me art skills I'm afraid. My fingers are too fat and my pulse is terrible.
6- How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?
I've been creating for fandoms as long as I can remember. I've had a really troubled life, so creating stuff helped me. As for Choices, I've been creating stuff since 2019
7- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?
Without a doubt, Desire and Decorum. The first book is simply a masterlist and its characters are so well-written, and everything about it just draws me to it. They definitely botched the other books, but it will always be in my heart. I also enjoy creating for other historical books and books that have similar themes
8- Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?
It was a set of headcanons of Mr. Sinclaire and my MC, Celestine, finding out that they're going to be parents. While my spelling is terrible, I wouldn't change a thing. The engagement I received was such, it drove me to write for more. I haven't stopped creating since.
9- What your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created?
It's no secret for anyone who pays attention to my blog: my au, The Cursed Heiress, is probably my best creation. It's complex and a juggernaut of lore and history, and has all I've ever wanted in a fic and book in it. Although a close second is my Tudor AU, For Love and Duty. I simply love the 'arranged marriage' trope
10- Do you have a fic/art that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?
The second part of a one shot, A True Man, was probably one of the most difficult to write, and with a very traumatising and important theme. I was 100% hoping anon hate telling me to delete it, but found instead that the people ate it up! It has now 30 notes (which is A LOT for a small fandom like the D&D one) and now that I reread it, I'm proud of what I created and the message I wanted to send, which resonates with happenings of my past and experiences.
11 - If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Definitely angst. There's something so cathartic and relieving as letting out those emotions you can't express out loud without being locked up for being unhinged, and it has helped me understand myself many times. Also, smut is def something that I can't physically write 😅
12 - Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?
There are small parts of me in every MC. A fragment of my past. Something of their lore that I went through. Something I aspire to be. Something I wanted to be once. I like to think that every writer leaves a part of their heart and soul with each character they create.
13 - What element of writing/art do you struggle with most?
Ooof, where to begin. I think the hardest part is to just write. I can go on for weeks looking at my turned-off laptop and goof off on Tumblr. But when I do write, the 'boring' parts or writing a character that I am not familiar with or that there isn't much info about can be challenging.
14 - Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
Oof, where to begin, lol. My modern AUs, The Viscountess and Plan B. There's also Your Most Ardent Admirer and For Love and Duty. There's the fix-it fic series of the Blades LIs. Profiles of my MCs from several series. And also fic ideas that I want to create, but don't know where or how to start it. Woe is me indeed 😭
15 - If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first?
Depends on the person. I would be very, very picky. I did show some parts of The Cursed Heiress to two trusted friends. But I wouldn't be against showing my mom a few chapters of The Viscountess… Unfortunately, she does not speak a word of English and I am terrible at translations, so it's wishful thinking, lol.
16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?
For the published ones, Holly Black and Cassandra Clare have probably been my biggest help. Leigh Bardugo is also a newer inspo, and Spanish author Laura Gallego got me into fantasy, and anonymous author Bebi Fernández's raw and brutal prose have helped me find my voice. I have now bought George R.R Martin's Game of Thrones, looking for new sources to grasp.
As for fandom-wise, the very first writer to inspire me unfortunately hasn't been active since the pandemic, and despite our differences, @hellospunkiebrewster 's writing and essays got me into Regency and its history. My thriving years were by her side, and I'm grateful of having had a great fandom friend and hyper. The most recent ones are @missameliep my amazing fandom mom (te quiero mami 🥰) and some pieces by @princess-geek 's writing have inspired me to expand my horizon.
17- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
The Cursed Heiress, definitely. I think that my messages would resonate with many people. There's also The Viscountess: many people should see the messages Nicole, Anne and others have, and for what I have planned (and have been stalling out of laziness 🫣) would put things into perspective for many minorities and certain groups that are neglected by society and governments alike.  19- Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art?
I am now at the outlining stages of making The Cursed Heiress an original novel. I tried many times to make my own novel, but always dropped it. But now that I've been for years with it, I feel like this might be the one project I dreamed of publishing one day. It's tough and scary, but I'm loving the ride so far.
Also, I have tried my hand with poetry, but it didn't have engagement and felt like talking to a wall, so I now feel discouraged. But if someone out there is interested, lmk 👀
20-  What other hobbies do you have?
Apart from literature, I love make-up, skincare, cooking and making gifs and videoedits. I also love travelling and discovering new adventures and learning as many languages as I am capable. I also love listening to music. Basically anything that has to do with the humanities and art, I'll take it. Also, I am very invested in modern royal gossip. I know, not very republican of me… 🫣😅
21 - What’s your favorite emoji?
Apparently, the one I use the most is 🫡🫶🏻👀. Heh, sounds like me, lol
22: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to).

Two reminders to both creators and onlookers alike:
Creators: making content is NOT a race or a chore. It's something you make just because, and share it with the world. If you don't enjoy it, it's not worth the effort.
Onlookers: I know how much you may love X thing, but remember that behind that art, fic, etc, there's a person with real feelings, real life and that is taking off free time to make something. Enjoy it, reblog it (please, reblog the stuff you love) and if you don't like it, filter the tag, block and move on. It's really that simple.
Also, happy Valentine's Day AND Black History Month to the black creators of Choices! You're awesome and we love you ❤ sending you love 🥰
