Finally completed Uncharted 4's story for myself yesterday, and finally got around to starting a new Lost Legacy playthrough this morning. Safe to say it's one of my current fixations. But now I want to write more content! And I'm not sure if that should go here or on my ao3 or what. I guess both...

#writeintospring Day 3 Writing tool Here are the things I use on a daily basis. ✒There's my laptop. I use Word and Scrivener. It's an Acer. ✒Hanging from it are my headphones. My neighbors are sometimes loud, so those bad boys are clutch. ✒That little black book is the "Things I've Done Today book" where I keep track of stuff I've gotten done. I've found that if I don't do this, at the end of the day I won't remember everything. (It's Game of Thrones themed from @lootcrate.) ✒The #writestuff book is my planner- To Do lists/appts/deadlines. I ordered it from @maydesigns. (That's also the name of my weekly Twitter chat. Every Tuesday @ 9 p.m. EST.) ✒A pad for note taking. ✒My journal for my Morning Pages. @peter_pauper_press It's the Bordeaux journal. 😍 ✒And a pen. Unibal Vision. In blue or black ink. When I write it out it seems excessive, but I don't even think about it anymore. It's just what I do, ya know? What's your fave writerly tool? #authortube #writingcommunity #writerslife #writersofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BukMYGdnkeH/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=peq6gk6aeug3

One perk of being a writer, we can pretty much 'set up shop' wherever we need. For example today I'm utilizing a corner in my mom's hospital room. . . . . . #writing #writer #writersofig #amwriting #writingcommunity #writerslife #indiewriter #author #spilledink #igwriters #novelwriting #writersnetwork #writestuff #wip #write #writers #bookish #writerscommunity #wordsmith #fiction #writerscorner #ilovewriting #writersofinstagram #reading #writinglife #wordboss #girlboss #writerssociety #writerstable #writerspatch https://www.instagram.com/p/BoHNVUFhz_1/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=11dtjvcv07tn7

How to Keep Writing–With a Little Help From Your Friends
Tumblr media
Congratulations for making it through the month! Whether you’ve written in solitude or you’ve attended every write-in, it’s important to remember that there’s more to NaNo than the novel—there’s a whole community out there! Today, writer and #projectwritetube founder Tamara Woods shares how engaging with the NaNo community will make writing a richer experience all year round:
My day is spent generally sitting at my desk (or on my bed), hunched over my laptop or notepad with headphones trying to block out the neighbor’s barking dog. Sometimes I escape from my hovel and find a quiet corner at the public library. Generally, my interactions with people have nothing to do with work, which is different from many professions.
Writing is such a solitary thing, it’s easy to forget that you’re not the only one clanging at your keyboard, bitterly clenching the Oxford comma and bemoaning the double space after the period.
Then in struts NaNoWriMo. It’s like a worldwide conga line for writers. That one month out of the year that we all crawl out of respective caves, look up blearily at the sun, and jump into the line, actually speaking with each other IRL and online.
Of course, developing a strong writing habit is important. If you want to finish a project, you have to work on it, regardless of the project. No one finishes a movie by dreaming about how cool it would be to be at the Oscars. Just like dreaming about being a New York Times bestseller won’t make those sales come in. But that’s not why I love NaNo so much. I can work on developing stronger work ethic any day of the year.
It’s the community. By clicking on the hashtag, you can find fellow writers all over the world, whether they’re career writers or hobbyists working at the same time. I’m in Hawai’i, so my time zone is notoriously later than everyone else’s. Even so, at the end of the night, I can still post a, “Ugh, writing am I write? #NaNoWriMo” tweet and people will immediately respond.
“During the rest of the year, I do my best to create a community, because I understand the importance of building relationships outside of those characters who are living with you 24/7.”
That camaraderie is important in this crazy writing world where I’m often locked behind my desk and not interacting as much with people as I would in a traditional work setting. And with NaNoWriMo comes the in real life write-ins at different parts of the island. There’s something very satisfying about hearing those clacking of keys around me.
During the rest of the year, I do my best to create a community, because I understand the importance of building relationships outside of those characters who are living with you 24/7. I’ve started a tweetchat called #writestuff that’s morphed into a Facebook community where we set weekly goals and give each other encouragement to get there. I started #ProjectWriteTube where each year, myself and 13 authors get together to give tips, advice, and encouragement to writers about to start NaNoWriMo. I try to put myself out there and give support.
Writing is a fun, exasperating, challenging, exhilarating, and crushing enterprise to take on. It’s like climbing a mountain, but in your seat with just your brain. To finish a story is an amazing accomplishment. To finish that story and tell your friends who’ve been supporting you through the journey makes it that much richer.

Tamara Woods is a four-time NaNo winner, this year working on her fifth. She likes red pandas, coffee with too much creamer, and singing in the grocery aisles. Her first fiction novel Blood Roses & Honeysuckles will be available just in time for holiday shopping. She’s a full-time freelance writer and posts writing, writer tips, and indie author interviews on her blog PenPaperPad and her YouTube channel. She invites you to join the #writestuff tweetchat Tuesdays at 9 pm. You can also find her on  Facebook and GoodReads.

Write Stuff Entry
Hey guys! This is my first writing post on my blog. I am entering a piece of writing in a competition by Write Stuff. I had to write something no more than 300 words about someone my age being touched by an aspect of war. I have worked really hard this piece and I hope it is something you will enjoy reading
Watson (Yeah that is my pen name now)
A blur of colours was the only thing I could see as I gazed out of the train window. This train ride had not been very exciting, especially considering that I was in an empty carriage travelling through the British countryside. There was nothing overly exciting about it, and I still had hours left of travelling before I had to leave the train. I sat in complete silence, listening out for anything that could be at all interesting, and was not surprised when I didn’t hear anything at all. I was bored. I was restless. As I glanced at the window, I saw my reflection looking back at me, and I began thinking about the journey I had taken.
When I had left, I wasn’t scared at all. I was excited. A chance for a new start in a new place away from everybody I had ever known. Everything had been so dull and boring as if I had been living in black and white. Finally, I had a chance to go on my own adventure, like a character out of a book. I could make the story, however, I wanted it to be; I was the one writing it. I tucked a dark curl behind my ear as I retrieved a small book from my suitcase and began to read.
I was an adventurer, running through the trees with adrenaline pumping through my veins. I was a detective, one clue away from solving a case. I was a little girl creeping around a mansion in the dark. I was nervous. I had no idea what adventures I would be going on in the real world. Not a clue, but I was determined. I would have more fun on my aunt’s farm than I had ever had in my life.

Bruce Gets Bullied AKA How Batman Stole A Dog
"It's cute. You're just mean."
"It's not cute. It's an affront to God, a tacky manifestation of what science could and should not have done."
Clark pouted, staring down at Bruce, before carefully lifting the pug up and towards his face. The wheezing little thing tried its best to lick towards Batman's exposed chin but it wasn't having much luck. Beside them, Wonder Woman dropped to the pavement, clapping excitedly as if she wasn't about to very seriously discuss League business post-robot-attack.
"Diana!" Clark beamed. "Diana," Bruce grunted, knowing full well what fresh hell the Man of Steel was ready to instigate. "Batman is bullying this puppy. He says it's ugly!"
The woman taller than either of them takes the little beastie in her hands, gasping, scandalized and offended on its behalf. "It's adorable! Look at it!"
"It can't breathe. It's a cruelty."
"That's not its fault!" Diana exclaims, near incredulous, making rather obnoxious kissy noises at the pug.
"No," Bruce grunts in agreement. "It's not."
"See? You do think it's cute," Clark grins, the grin of a man who is too fucking adorable and dorky to be that big or muscular but yet he is and also yes he's full of shit in a somehow endearing way. Bruce scowls even harder.
"Whose is he?" Diana asks, thick brow raised, looking positively perfect in every way despite the fact she just wrestled a fifty foot tall robot and won.
"We don't know," Bruce said. "No tag, but he was under some rubble. Unharmed, Superman already checked. Can't be a stray; he's a purebred," Bruce finishes, in utter disgust.
Clark frowns, absently and thoughtfully rubbing at his perfectly clean-shaven face. "We'll have to ask around, but someone will have to watch the little pup until we find its owner..." He glances between Diana and Bruce with that shit-eating grin. Stupid perfect face.
"No," Bruce states, firm.
"Batman!" Diana holds it out to him, pouting dramatically just as Clark did the same. "You are good with animals, it is a young and frightened creature, lost and in need, it can't survive on its own--"
"Not fair," Bruce interjects, taking the pug in his hands, scowling menacingly at both who seemed to be rehearsing for their roles as the platonic ideal of smugness. "But I'm having words with the owner. Anyone who commits to mass puppy cruelty like pug breeding is a menace to society."
Clark and Diana look to one another, and back to Bruce, before shrugging.
