writing bucky pov is so funny because bucky's really active and obviously intuits a lot from gale, but what really gets me is that bucky will do something and then as a writer you have to kind of show don't tell what that's doing to gale

so you're thinking, right, bucky's just done something that reminds gale of his dad in a way he's not sure is good or bad, it's ridiculous but gale can't help himself and still admire bucky - he's not sure if he wants to be him or just be with him, it's also reckless and gale wants to protect him, while wondering whether that might not jeopardise some tender part of gale's cooked brain and he shouldn't rather protect himself, because gale is of course always physically this 🤏 close to tearing off bucky's clothes but won't let himself

you’re not the rejection nor the neglect you’ve suffered. you’re not a failure for not being exactly what someone wanted you to be, for not being able to pretend to be someone else but you. you’re not their absence. you’re a person who has so much inside their hearts to offer, even if someone else could not see it. that’s not a failure on your behalf, it’s on theirs. you don’t have to become what they projected onto you. it’s okay to be your own person, with your own limitations and shortcomings, who makes mistakes and is learning to move forward from them while still being true to yourself. just because they failed to see your worth, doesn’t mean anyone else won’t.

I was kind to myself today

kindness I should have allowed myself all along.

I cleaned my room, changed the bed, a hot shower, two glasses of cold water and some lotion on my body.

I was kind enough to light my favorite candle and do yoga by the flickering light.

I allowed myself the solitude and peace the midnight air holds.

I said it’s normal to feel, that my emotions are real.

I told my mind it’s okay to rest, and my heart it’s alright to love. The sun will rise in the morning.

I’d like to be kind more often.
