Much Ado About Nothing (Act I, Scene II: The Crude Suggestion)
A provocative joke leads Spencer to contemplate, yet ultimately avoid, a crucial conversation with you.
Part warning: a little suggestive comment and two idiots being stubborn Words: 2.1k A/n: I want to remind you that each part doesn’t necessarily follow one another, the story focuses on their relationship and not on the cases being told. This is just a collection of shenanigans and nothing too serious!

Tumblr media
There was something about being in the middle of nowhere for a case. Maybe not exactly nowhere—you knew where you were, you could pinpoint this city on a map, but there wasn’t the same bustle and constant noise you were used to in Quantico. The relative quiet was unsettling, yet oddly comforting.
Although nothing was comforting about checking the crime scene deep in a forest in broad daylight. It was a small, unnaturally circular clearing where the grass was trampled down in places, and in the center was the remains of what you were there to investigate.
“So,” you started, your eyes scanning the place. “Do you think the Unsub uses these remote areas to avoid detection, or is he just a fan of the great—albeit bland—outdoors?”
Spencer glanced at you from the other side of the clearing.
“Statistically speaking, the isolation could serve to minimize the risk of witnesses. However, it’s also plausible that the Unsub finds comfort in solitude. Or maybe he just dislikes traffic.”
“Dislikes traffic,” you repeated, deadpan. “Yes, because serial killers are really just misunderstood commuters.”
Just as Spencer was about to retort with what you assumed would be a wildly thrilling statistic about traffic patterns and criminal behavior, Emily’s voice cut through the tension. “Can’t you two ever not bicker for more than five minutes?”
You turned to her. “I’m just trying to get a straightforward answer. But apparently, that’s too much to ask for.”
“I’m giving you a range of possibilities, which is what profiling is about. Sorry if that’s too complicated for you to understand.”
“Oh, I understand completely,” you replied, matching his tone. “I just find that half of your theories are unnecessary.”
Spencer’s eyes narrowed. “The depth of analysis ensures we don’t overlook anything. It’s thorough, not unnecessary.”
“You call it thorough. I call it overthinking.”
Emily stepped between you, raising a hand. “Alright, enough. Can we focus on the case now?”
“He started it,” you couldn’t resist muttering under your breath as you moved to another part of the clearing.
“Me? You were the one who—”
Emily cut him off with a loud, exasperated sigh, tilting her head back as if seeking divine intervention, before turning her gaze sharply back to both of you.
“Most people go to therapy to deal with this much-unresolved tension,” she remarked dryly. Then, fixing you with a pointed look, she added, “You know what else might help?”
You frowned, glancing towards her. “What?”
Emily paused dramatically, her gaze shifting from you to Spencer and back again at you, lingering a little too long. She didn’t say anything, but the way she raised her brows and the smirk playing on her lips, you knew what she was implying. It was as if there was an unspoken code that only years of friendship between women could understand.
You looked away, a slight burn along our cheeks.
Spencer, still oblivious, looked from Emily to you, confusion written all over his face. "What? What are you talking about?”
“Well—”
“No!” You stopped her. “Don’t listen to her.”
Spencer’s confusion deepened, his gaze shifting from you to Emily, trying to decipher the underlying message. Emily’s smirk only widened, clearly enjoying the discomfort she’d stirred up.
“You should ask Y/N,” she said, her tone teasing. “I’m sure she knows some great ideas for... tension relief.”
You felt your face heat up even more, and you shot Emily a warning look, partly annoyed and partly embarrassed by her insinuation. But she simply just laughed, and when a sudden car pulled up near them, Emily found a way to escape.
“Oh, look, the sheriff is here,” she said, swiftly changing the subject. “You guys check the area while I talk to him.”
Emily walked off to meet the sheriff, leaving you and Spencer alone in awkward silence. You turned away, eager to divert your attention back to work when you felt him hang back slightly to walk with you.
He seemed to hesitate before speaking. “What was she referring to?”
You glanced at him, trying to gauge his reaction, wondering if he was genuinely confused or just looking for a way to keep the conversation light.
"Nothing," you replied with a dismissive shrug, keeping your eyes on the ground ahead. “She was joking.”
“I could tell, but what about?”
You paused, realizing that the vague explanations weren't going to satisfy him this time. His analytical mind was both a blessing and a curse in moments like these.
"She was suggesting—jokingly—that we might relieve our constant bickering... through more unconventional methods."
"Unconventional methods?"
“Sex, Reid. She was implying sex.”
His face instantly turned a shade of red, perhaps deeper than you had ever seen before. He blinked a few times, clearly taken aback by the bluntness of your clarification.
"Oh," he managed to stutter out, the usual fluency of his speech faltering under the weight of the topic. He bit his bottom lip, a nervous habit that you had come to recognize as his attempt to buy time while he gathered his thoughts.
“That’s…”
“Crazy, right?” You pressed on. “I mean, nothing good will come out if we start blurring pleasure and professional lines like that.”
There, you said it, an underlining of your words that carried more weight than the immediate conversation. You wondered if he understood your double meaning, and maybe he did, because his gaze met yours sharply.
He exhaled, his demeanor shifting as he processed not just Emily's joke but also the deeper reference to that night—the one neither of you spoke about but still lingered between you.
“Right,” he finally responded, his voice firm, yet there was a hint of something else you couldn’t quite decipher. “Nothing good at all.”
“It would only complicate things.”
“Exactly.”
“It’s a bad idea.”
“The worst.”
For a moment, you both stood there, the forest around you fading into the background. You broke the silence first, turning away from him. "We should finish up here. There's still a lot of ground to cover."
With those words, you moved ahead, feeling his gaze on your back. The crunch of leaves under his steps echoed as he followed in silence.
Tumblr media
It would only complicate things… as if it wasn’t already complicated in the first place.
Spencer looked over to where you stood; it was clear you were trying to avoid him for the past hour. He watched as you meticulously examined every leaf and twig, your focus seeming more like an escape than an investigation.
He knew he should say something, perhaps bridge the gap with an apology or an olive branch of some sort, but every potential word seemed to catch in his throat. It seemed like a constant cycle of hesitation and missed opportunities. Every time he thought to speak, doubt would claw its way back, holding him silent.
He wondered if perhaps it was the same for you.
“Hey,” Emily’s voice filled the silence as she joined back. “Did you find anything?”
Spencer’s train of thought was abruptly interrupted by Emily’s arrival. He straightened up, quickly shifting his focus back to the present. He gestured towards the markings on the ground that you both had been examining.
“We might have found something.”
Emily crouched beside you, eyes scanning the evidence with practiced ease. “You think this is from our Unsub?”
You nodded, offering the specifics, “The pattern and depth suggest it’s not natural. And the spacing might give us an idea about the size and weight of the Unsub.”
“I’ll get the forensics team to take a closer look.” She stood up, looking between you and Spencer. “You two okay here?”
“Yes, we’re fine,” Spencer answered quickly, a bit too eagerly. You simply nodded without saying a word.
“Alright, maybe I like it better when you both bicker.”
He saw you shrug nonchalantly. “I’m gonna check the other side,” you announced before walking away.
"She's avoiding me," he stated, a note of helplessness threading through his voice.
“Can you blame her?”
“What?” He asked, his voice tinged with defensiveness. “So it's my fault?”
“Well… did you do anything wrong?”
There was a pause before he glanced away, his mind racing through that night. “Maybe,” he admitted, his voice low, almost reluctant.
"There you go, you have your answer.”
He shifted from one foot to the other, visibly uncomfortable, as his fingers twitched at his sides. “Do you think we’re overreacting?”
She sighed. “Look, I don't know the details of what happened, and as much as I want to help, it’s between you two. The way I see it, you have two options: either resolve the problem or continue bickering.”
He frowned, mulling over her words. He glanced toward you and faltered for a moment, noticing the glare you were throwing him even from the other side of the clearing. It was clear you didn’t want to engage in any type of conversation with him.
“Yeah, I think I’m going to stick with bickering.”
Emily laughed. “Really? You don’t want to consider my suggestion earlier?” When she caught the blush creeping on his cheeks, her grin widened. “Finally caught on what I meant?”
His blush deepened, and he cleared his throat uncomfortably.
"Oh, yeah, well, that's definitely not an appropriate solution," he stammered, trying to regain his composure. Collecting himself, he latched onto a more comfortable territory—facts.
"Actually, according to a study, about 20% of workplace relationships lead to marriage, but they can also significantly complicate professional dynamics, increasing the potential for conflicts of interest.”
Emily simply smiled, clearly amused at how flustered he was. Her silence only urged him to continue.
"And, well, that doesn't even begin to cover the fallout if things don't work out. The workplace can become, um, a challenging environment for both parties involved. It's just... it's tricky."
Spencer winced to himself, because ironically, the fallout was already happening. The situation he was theorizing about in vague terms was unfolding right in front of him.
"It sounds like you're speaking from experience.”
“I’m not!” He responded almost too fast. “I’m not.”
She studied him, her eyes narrowing slightly as she assessed his reaction. He shifted uncomfortably, his gaze dropping to the ground. The quick denial had been too sharp, too reflexive, and now he felt cornered by his own reactions.
“I’m not,” he insisted again. “I just... I mean, I've read a lot about it. You know, studies, research papers, it's nothing personal."
Emily nodded slowly, not entirely convinced but choosing not to push further. "If you say so.”
Her eyes lingered on him for a while, and when she realized the conversation wasn’t going anywhere, she turned around and left him.
“Where are you going?”
“Comforting her,” she called out, walking backward. “Something you should’ve done.”
He watched Emily walk away, her words stinging more than he wanted to admit. Then his eyes traveled to you, and it was as if you could sense his lingering stare, you looked up and met his gaze.
Anger. Annoyance. It was what he caught in your eyes before you quickly masked it with a neutral expression. The intensity of that brief exchange was enough to make him realize just how deep the rift between you had gone.
Spencer knew talking about it was the mature thing to do, but he also feared that bringing up that conversation might only open another can of worms. He felt stuck, unsure if addressing the issue would heal or harm. So he went back to being a coward and turned in the opposite direction.
It was for the better. You didn’t want to talk to him anyway.

Tumblr media
You’re fine.
Everything’s fine.
You’re so close.
No one can take this away from you now.
Taking a deep breath, the only thing you could concentrate on were your shaky hands in front of you, the many voices behind you overlapping and blurring into each other. You couldn’t distinguish your mother’s voice from your sister’s, or your bridesmaid’s from your friend’s. Your dad was out there somewhere, getting everyone to take their destined place to take one worry off your mind.
The dress you picked out months ago suddenly starts to suffocate you, the white blinding your eyes in an uncomfortable manner. You couldn’t decipher what happened. A minute ago you felt like the most beautiful woman on earth and the next you felt like ripping off your own skin.
You have cold feet.
No, no I don’t.
“I think I need some fresh air.”
The voices behind you stopped at once. There was a split second of awkward silence before you could hear some feet shuffling over to you. Your mother’s concerned face appeared in your view. You could tell she tried to hide her worry.
“Are you sure my darling?” She asked. You just nodded without looking into her eyes.
“Yeah, I'm fine. Don’t worry.”
Don’t worry, your daughter is just having a panic attack.
“Should Savannah accompany you?” She looked at your sister, waving her over to help you up. You shook your head no.
“I just need a moment to calm down from all the excitement.” You lied to their faces, sending them your most believable smile you had in store. You were a great liar, the perks of being an actress.
Throwing over a soft robe to at least conceal some of the wedding dress, you hurried out of the suffocating room. You smiled and nodded at some of the people you passed by, trying to hold up your act of a happy bride. This is supposed to be the happiest day of your life after all.
Getting out of the small house next to the main one, you fled the eyes of the guests and escaped into the big, blossoming garden, finding your way into the massive maze that adorned the centrepiece. The old mansion behind you disappears from your sight and with each step away from the buzzing preparations of the wedding, your breath starts to normalise again.
Bending over and holding yourself up by your knees, you caught your breath. The heavy feeling started to disperse, your mind clearing up. Closing your eyes, you tried to focus on your surroundings.
The mild wind breezed through your hair and caressed your face, you could hear the leaves from the many hedgerows making up the maze and the water splashing softly against the fountain. Birds chirped in the distance and you could faintly make out some people’s voices up at the mansion.
And some footsteps approaching you.
“The centrepiece of the hedge maze might not be the most convenient hiding spot.”
You tensed, your eyes snapping open and you straighten your back. He was behind you, so he couldn’t see the shock written clearly all over your face.
“I didn’t think you’d come.” You still hadn’t turned around.
“It would be rude to turn down a wedding invitation without a good reason.” He answered, and you could hear his steps getting louder and louder behind you.
He slowly came into view. You had yet to turn your head into his direction, but from the side you could see him sitting down on one of the stone benches next to you.
Finally, you turned your whole body to him. He wore a black suit, classic yet he made it seem so chic. His hair was braided back, his beard trimmed neatly and you could see some of his tattoos peeking out from underneath. Gold jewellery adorned his ears, his neck and hands.
He looked absolutely ethereal.
“And I figured if you didn’t want me to be here, you wouldn’t have invited me.”
You felt your body burn out of embarrassment. You didn’t answer him, you just kept staring at him with your most neutral face you could muster.
“Theo was the one who suggested it.”
He chuckled, and part of you wanted to melt right there.
“He’s always been a gentleman.”
Silence. Birds chirping, leaves blowing, water splashing, the occasional yell from someone up the mansion.
“I see you’ve got the venue you always wanted.” He looked around. “The waiting list must’ve been long.”
“They made an exception for us.” You kept your answers to a minimum.
“Right.” He nodded and kept admiring your surroundings. “The perks of being rich and famous.”
His eyes found yours again, you felt your heart stop for a second before returning to a rather fast speed. You hoped you kept your cool at least from outside.
“You look beautiful.” His eyes soften, the smile on his lips genuine.
“Thank you.” You gave him a nod.
“Theo is a lucky man.”
You could’ve been that lucky man.
“So they say.”
He chuckled again. “You used to be more talkative.”
“Maybe I just don’t want to hold a conversation with you.” He laughed at your words, shaking his head.
“Say the words and I leave.”
You kept silent. He smiled.
“You have cold feet.” You felt like an arrow just entered right in the middle of your guts. “That’s why you’re out here and not up there.”
He analysed your body language.
Fuck, he’s always been good at reading you like an open book.
“You’re scared.” He finalised his conclusion. “I’m just figuring out why… You always wanted this. Big engagement, great wedding, grand marriage…” He placed his chin on his hands, his arms resting on his upper legs. “What are you scared of?”
You bit your lip, your arms felt heavy on your sides, your fingers started to fiddle with the material of the robe. You felt so naked in front of him, so insecure and exposed. Your breath starts to pick up again.
“What are you running from, my love?”
He felt your body language change up in pace, your neutral stance completely flipping over. He stood up, his face painted in worry as he approached you. “Hey, I didn’t mean-”
“Fuck you, Lewis!” You took a step away and he stilled instantly. “Don’t fucking call me your love!”
You breathed heavily, as if you were close to exploding from all the emotions flowing inside you. Maybe you were.
You’re fine.
Everything’s fine.
You’re so close.
No one can take this away from you now.
You calmed yourself again.
The birds are chirping.
The leaves are blowing.
The water is splashing.
The wedding is happening.
“I’m sorry.” You apologised. “I shouldn’t have said that.”
Lewis looked at you, you avoided his gaze. You could sense him sitting down again.
“I think you swearing at me is the closest I’ve seen from the you I know.”
“Well, you don’t know me anymore.” You snapped. “You haven’t in years.”
He sighed. “Yeah, I guess I haven’t.”
You sighed too, your hands dropping to your sides again. You know you should just leave and return to your girls. They were probably already looking for you.
Yet you took one step after the other and sat down next to him.
“I am scared.” You confessed. You didn’t know why you were telling him this. Maybe because you felt like he was the only person you could talk to. “It was supposed to be you.”
Your mother would kill you for having such thoughts and your friends wouldn’t understand. Your sister would roll her eyes at you and god forbid your future mother-in-law knows about any of the doubts you had about marrying her son.
“I know.” His words made you smile sadly.
You looked at him and he looked at you. You don’t think anyone has ever looked at you the way he did. No one, not even Theo.
“You were always meant to be a bride.” He twirled a strand of hair of yours between his fingers. “I just wasn’t meant to be a groom.”
You looked away and he let go of your hair, his hand lingering for a second in the air before dropping onto his lap.
“I know.” Now he was the one smiling sadly.
You fiddled with the bow holding together your robe. Your thoughts were racing, but none made sense.
“You shouldn’t be scared.” He took your hand in his, his fingers playing with your engagement ring. “You wouldn’t be wearing this if it was wrong to marry him.”
“Sometimes I catch myself thinking what ring I’d be wearing if you had been ready at the time.” You breathed out, leaning back against the bench. “And then I feel silly thinking that way about a man who has broken me in a way I thought I was never going to recover from it.” You snatched away your hand from his grip.
You heard him sigh next to you. He held his face in his hands and you could tell he was ashamed of his past actions. “I was an asshole.”
You chuckled at his words bitterly. “Yeah, you were.”
There was some understanding silence between you. This time it didn’t feel uncomfortable, no, more reassuring. He knew, you knew. There was no need to focus on your surroundings.
“I don’t think I want you at my wedding.” You breathed shakingly, unsure how he’d react to your words. You looked at him on your side. He was already staring at you. His eyes were sad, yet he understood you. He always did.
“Can you do me a favour?” He asked. “Can you show me your dress?”
Without any further words, you stood up and unveiled yourself from your robe. He sucked in a breath.
It wasn’t particularly extravagant. The simple cut hugging you perfectly as if it was custom made for you. Maybe because it was. The designer of your choice had outdone themselves, keeping it the exact same way you had envisioned it.
Elegant, modern, ethereal.
It took Lewis a minute to compose himself. He never thought he’d see you in a wedding dress. Part of him regrets that he asked you to show yourself to him.
“You’re an angel.” You don’t look like an angel, you are an angel. You blushed.
You took your robe again, covering yourself up as much as you could. “Thank you.”
For a second you stood there and took a deep look at him. The way he sat there, it had changed. Before, he looked so confident, so sure of himself. After he saw you in your dress, you weren’t sure what to make of him.
He looked small.
“I should go.” You couldn’t bear it any longer. You’ve already talked too much to him.
Why were you still here?
You turned around without waiting for his response. Taking the ends of your dress in your hand, you made sure to not get any dirt on it as you stepped away from the man you once loved. Once.
“I think-”
You staggered, halting in your movements. You were a few feet away from him, already at the entrance of the maze to make your way out of it. Turning around, you saw him as he stood up.
“I think maybe I would’ve been ready.” He nodded unsure. “At one point.”
You stared at him, your lips pressed against each other.
“I think I was overwhelmed by it all. My career, my team, you… That’s why I ran away.”
You kept staring at him without uttering a word, your dress still held up slightly. He continued.
“I think I see that vision of yours now.” He took a shaken breath. “It’s really beautiful.”
You felt your stomach twist and your hands grabbing the material of your dress more aggressively. Why did he tell you all this now? Was he trying to sabotage you? He’s done it once, you needed to make sure he wouldn’t do it again. Not this time, never again.
You cleared your throat. “I meant it, don’t come to my wedding.”
“Wait, I-”
“Lewis,” You interrupted him. “My love isn’t yours anymore. You’re the one who needs to let go now.”
And with that you turned your back to him, your face looking up at the mansion that stood upon you. Your future lay there. He couldn’t stop you anymore.
You’re fine.
Everything’s fine.
You’re so close.
No one can take this away from you now.
You’ve never looked back again.

you’re working the bar, turns out bussin tables wasn’t your strong suit when the locals would get a little too persistent towards you and you’d go off, snarky little comments that’s just piss them off in turn, you just couldn’t help it.
it’s another gloomy day at work, wiping the counter with some dirty rag that was probably doing more harm than good, but it was just so boring, until the little bell rings above the door signaling an enterance of someone new, eyes springing up from the counter as the boy walks in.
he was cute, fairly buff, red cap rested atop his sun damaged blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, you did a double take and sharply looked away when he began walking towards you, reaching for a glass and cleaning it with the same rag, as he sinks down into the bar stool directly in-front of you. “that rag don’t look very sanitary to me.” he smirks, waiting for you to catch his eye but you don’t. “no shit.” you mumble, internally rolling your eyes but refraining.
“woah.” he chuckles putting his hands up in surrender, which only makes you more pissed. “got a little fire in you, my bad.” you just flick your eyes up to him, clearly unamused. “what do you want?” slamming the glass down onto the beer mat, resting one hand on the beer taps.
“bold of you to assume i want a beer.” he shrugs, not loosing his playful tone even after being shot down so many times, you’ve gotta applaud his confidence. “so natty light?” you ask, fed up of his antics as his smirk only grows wider. "another assumption.” he assess.
“listen, you look poor, natty light’s target consumer. so yes or no?” you ask, and he scoffs. “natty light please.” and you nod, bending down to grab one from the fridge under the counter. you slide it across to him and he hands you a pile of coins, you roll your eyes and start counting it.
he cracks open the tab and takes a long sip before speaking again. “so, what’s a pretty girl like you doin’ working’ at this shit shack?” he leans forward, flashing that charming smile. “what’s it to y’a?” you mumble and he hisses. “you’re stubborn.” he adds and you nod. “y’a think?” you ask sarcastically and he smiles, before you look at him again.
“you’re 25 cents short.” you nod towards the pile of coins, he tongues the cut on his lip and sighs. “tell you what? consider this payment.” he says before reaching for your hand, turning it over and scrawling something on your palm, dropping the pen onto the counter top and winking, taking the can with him before the bell above the door rings again fo signal his departure before you can even get a word of protest in.
he’d written his number on your palm, in possibly the worst handwriting you’d ever seen, wondering how you were gonna decipher this shit later. you finally let the smile creep onto your face that you’d been holding, you were calling, no doubt about it.

Watchtower Tech. Danny
Part 2
Part 1
Dick was excited when Bruce asked if he wanted to go back to the watchtower today after school. Of course he said yes, it was so fun the first time he went last week. But unlike last time, the novelty of being up in space wore off quicker than the first time. Because this time, Bruce had to attend a meeting. Dick sat in his own chair—kicking his dangling feet next to Bruce as he talked about some boring thing or another. Dick looked out the window and watched the stars outside, it was those stars that reminded Dick of Danny—the fellow Gothamite who worked below the lower levels of the watchtower. So when a break was finally called, Dick went up to Bruce and tugged on his cape.
“Hey, B,” Dick asked, looking up at the man.
“Yes, Chum,” Bruce grumbled out as he looked over his notes with a furrowed brow.
“Can I go hang out with my bird buddy down stairs?” Dick asked. Bruce looked at him, trying to recall what the words meant which made Dick sigh, “you know, Danny, the guy I met last time.”
“Hmm.” Bruce said, thinking. Dick has only just started to figure out Bruce speak, but he knew that particular ‘Hmm,” in that tone ment Bruce was weighing his options. After a few more seconds Bruce sighed, “go ahead.” He says in his gruff voice.
“Yes!” Dick exclaimed.
But before he could run off Bruce said, “as long as you are not distracting him from his work. If he is too busy, come right back.” Bruce demands.
Dick let out a groan, “fiiiiiine!” He moans before running over to the elevators and pressing the button to go to the lower floors.
The elevator doors opened to what looked like the hustle and bustle of a wearhouse mixed with an auto body shop. Several employees littered the floor, Some at computer stations, others at work tables while some just sat and ate in the corner laughing with others who were on their breaks. Also unlike last time—now having permission to be there—Dick scampered across the floor looking for the familiar black hair of one Danny Nightingale. After surveying the area with no idea where the older man was, Dick decided to go up to a group of workers near the back corner.
“Excuse me?” Dick says through the crushindo of laughter from the men on their break. They don't really seem to notice him, Dick pouted and jumped up onto the table to make himself seen. “Excuse me!” He shouts.
The group pauses and looks up at him with confusion written all over their faces. Dick smiled, “hi, i'm looking for Danny Nightingale. Do you know where he is?” He asked politely.
Several of the workers looked at eachother, some shrugged and laughed. One of the men spoke up, “where did you come from kid?”
Dick tilted his head to the side, “from upstairs?” Dick said like it was obvious. A few workers gave him a look that he couldn’t really decipher.
“And why are you looking for Nightingale?” The man asked with a cocked brow.
“Cuz we’re bird buddies!” Dick exclaimed enthusiastically with a big goofy smile. The men surrounding the table found the statement funny and started laughing, causing Dick to pout. “Can you just tell me where he is,” Dick demands, now getting annoyed.
Another man let out a snort, “sure kid,” he pointed over to a man who was crouched with his back facing the group, with his upper half obscured by the machine. “He’s over there doing something he’s probably not supposed to.”
Dick lifted a brow, “what do you mean, not supposed to?”
“Look kiddo, that kid’s crazy, but clever.” An older man spoke up, “The tech head, Dale, has him on cleanup detail but the kid keeps sticking his nose into things he's not supposed to. Managed to catch a meltdown before it could happen and Dale was furious. He's too scared to bring it up with the higher ups.” The old man smirked, “guy has it out for Nightingale but doesn't want to risk losing his job for letting the rookie fix something while also not wanting to give Danny the credit.”
Dick let out a hum in thought, thinking that there may be a case of abuse of power here. “How come?” He asked the man.
The man smirks, “the kid’s good, knows it too. It pisses Dale off!” He said with a laugh before going back to his chat with the others around him—unaware of the seed he planted in Dick’s mind.
Dick furrowed his brow, he may have to look into this further; maybe if B see’s he solved a case all by himself maybe he could stay out later on patrol! Dick smiled and waved goodbye to the men, despite them no longer paying him any mind, “thank you!” He shouts before running off towards danny.
He walked closer to the man who was half in the machine; a faint humming came from the man as he worked. Dick smirked, he snuck up behind the man, “hey, Bird Buddy!” He shouts, causing the man to jump and hit his head on the roof of the machine. Danny winced and sat back up, rubbing the spot he hit his head. He looks back with furrowed brows, though his expression changed when he saw Dick smiling up at him.
“Oh, hey Birdy, good to see you again.” Danny says with a smile.
“You too, Big Bird.” Dick said, beaming at his own nickname he made for Danny.
“Ha. Good one, kiddo," Danny paused, “actually aren't robins bigger than nightingales?” He asked, putting his hand onto his chin.
Robin mimicked him, “I don't know…. But it makes sense cuz you're bigger than me!” Dick says, explaining his reasoning.
Danny smirks, “got me there, Birdy. You wander off without Batman knowing again?” Danny asked as he grabbed a rag from his belt and began wiping grease off his hands.
“Nope!” Robin exclaims, “B and the others were having a meeting so before it reconvened, I asked if I could come see you. Batman said that I could as long as I wasn't bothering you.”
Danny smiled, “aww, you could never bother me.” He cood.
“So what are you doing?” Robin asked, head tilting to the side as he leaned trying to peek around danny.
“One of the zeta tubes is on the fritz so I thought I would take a look at it.”
“Do you know what's wrong?” Dick asked as he peeked into the open mouth of the machine.
Danny shrugged, “No, technically I'm not supposed to be working on it.” He explained.
“Then why are you working on it?” Dick asked with a raised brow.
“Because I may have a bird name but I'm not a chicken.” He says with a smirk at his own joke. Dick let out a cackle, “the guy who was working on it went on break and left all his tools out. So I took that as an invitation to finish what he started.”
“Won't you get in trouble?” Dick asked, looking around.
“People tend to ignore me here.” Danny says as he turns to look back into the zeta tube control panel that he was tinkering with.
“Why?” Dick asked, he already started making a mental catalog of everything he has heard so far like how Bruce taught him.
“Well, most people applied to this job directly to the Justice League, it's a very sought after job that takes endless amounts of screening to get. Only one in three people get hired. I, however, was scouted out directly from the dark knight himself.” Danny explained, “people think I didn't earn the job like they did.”
“Really?” Dick asked, “but if B went to you directly, that must mean you're good!” He exclaimed.
“Aww, thanks, Birdy,” Danny cood with a smile as he looked back over his shoulder, “I just have had lots of experience since I was a kid.”
“Your parents let you do that?” Dick asked before remembering what Danny said about his parents last time, “sorry….”
Danny paused and looked at Dick with confusion written all over his face before realization dawned on his face, “oh, don't be sorry kiddo, I got over them a long time ago.”
“But—don't you miss them?”
Danny sighed, turning back away from the zeta tube control panel to face Dick fully, “of course I do, they were my parents…. But they made it clear what their decision was…," Danny says looking down slightly. He sighed again, “it was so long ago that it doesn't matter anymore, I still have my big sister at least, and my two best friends. They helped me a lot and are the reason I came so far!” Danny paused, “and that's what really matters, the people who are there for you. Family doesn't always mean blood. Does that make sense?” Danny asked with a tilt of his head.
Dick thought about it, sure, his parents will always be his parents. But they were not his only family. All of Haly's circus was his family, from Zitka the elephant to Waldo the clown to even Mr.Haly himself! They were his family, but that wasn't all. His mind started to fit Bruce and Alfred into his idea of family. Dick smiled up at Danny, “yeah, that makes sense.”
Danny turned away from him, “good,” he says as he grabs a tool from the bag, going back into the mess of wires. “How was your day today, Robin?” He asked.
Dick smiled, “it was good, school was boring though,” He said with a groan as he threw his head back, “English is hard!”
Danny laughed, “I'm right there with ya, bud,” Danny exclames without turning away from what he was working on. “English was never my strongest subject either, but my favorite teacher I ever had was my high school English teacher.”
Dick lifted a brow, “really?” He asked incredulously, thinking about his own English teacher—who wore the same boring suit every day and would always stop Dick in the hall because he was “out of dress code” because of something he added to the uniform to make it look nicer.
Dick could hear the laughter in Danny's tone, “yeah, surprised me too when I realized it. His name was Mr.Lancer, he believed in me when no one else did. AND he cursed in book titles!” Danny exclaimed.
Dick laughed, “really, how?” He asked.
Danny sat back up and put his hands on his hips and exclaimed in a mocking voice, “Lord of the Flies! Mr.f—Nightingale, what are you doing!”
Dick laughed harder before falling onto his back and kicking his feet up in the air. Danny looked over his shoulder and smiled before going back to his work. The two continued to chat as Danny worked, dick talking about how boring his teacher is compared to the stories Danny had of Mr.Lancer. After thirty minutes or so, the familiar yellow light of the zeta-beam began to glow on the control panel.
Danny sat back and laughed, “Ha. Got it!” He exclaimed, proud he managed to figure out the tech.
“Awsome!” Dick exclaimed, jumping up and stretching his legs.
Danny followed suit and stood up, his joints popping in protest as he stretched. Danny looked down at dick and smiled, “cmon, kiddo, let's get out of here before the first guy shows back up!” Danny declares as he puts everything back the way he found it.
Dick laughed and followed Danny like a duckling as the man went and moved on to his next task for the day.

THE HCS OF READER PLAYING WITH NETEYAM AND LO’AK’S HANDS WERE SO CUTE OMG.
perhaps you can do hcs for neteyam and lo’ak where the reader gets slightly jealous bc they’re spending more time with another girl? i wonder how they would react…
tysm!

characters. lo’ak sully + neteyam sully
notes. okay so i love angsty jealousy tropes A LOT. especially when the reader is the one jealous so thank you for requesting this anon! i hope i did the sully boys justice ^^ + not completely proofread
Tumblr media
neteyam ✩‧₊˚
jealously never usually crosses his mind in all honesty, actually he rarely even feels an ounce of envy himself. he’s confident and values his pride and skill, so there was really nothing to worry about. when neteyam started to date you, his mindset never changed, but when he found out you were the jealous one, he couldn’t help but feel a bit more prideful. neteyam finds your jealousy to be amusing and he feels ensured that he’s protected by you.
from a short distance, you watched neteyam speaking to a girl— noticing how she lightly brushed her hand against his as they observed maps of pandora together. yes, you trusted neteyam completely. one thing that you admired about him was his boundless loyalty he had for the people he love. but there was itch, an irrational itch to just seat in between them and rip the map into useless shreds of paper. your fangs dangerously bit down on your lip, nearly drawing crimson.
without second thought, you abandoned your hiding spot and marched towards the pair. neteyam notices you first, his yellow eyes observing the furrow of your brows and the pout on your lips that he loved so much.
he couldn’t help but grin at your flaming jealousy.
“sorry i have to go,” neteyam looked over to the girl with feigned sympathy, reaching over his hand to feel your soft hands latch onto his slim fingers. you never acknowledged the girl, instead you tugged neteyam from his seat and snatched the maps from her grasp— walking away without looking back.
“you hang out with her too much,” you hissed, trying to decipher one of the intricate maps but all you see was confusing scribbles and tiny written language.
“don’t tell me you’re jealous?” neteyam snickered, raising his eyebrows playfully at you.
“i am,” you admitted with a firm voice, not afraid to express your envy. you handed him the maps that were slightly crinkled after snatching it from the faceless girl— you still had no plans to find out who she was.
neteyam felt a little at ease by your possessiveness.
“then i’ll teach you how to read them,” neteyam smoothed out the creases of the maps. a sigh of relief came out of him when he saw you try to hide a smile.
neteyam will tell you how cute you look when you’re jealous after you calm down.
Tumblr media
lo’ak ✩‧₊˚
he was very familiar with the feelings of envy, being brothers with neteyam and all. growing up as an outcast of his people has put him in situations where he felt insecure and mad at the world. but once lo’ak started dating you, he was surprised that you were also the jealous type. in all honesty, he felt reassured that you felt so strongly towards him— it made him fall for you even harder. also, lo’ak feels secretly prideful knowing that he’s yours only.
“breathe in,” lo’ak takes a deep breath. “and breathe out.”
he unleashes a gust of air through his lips, sensing his heartbeat slowing down. tsireya smiled, proud of the progress they were making in their training. you were watching their session intently, the opaque shells that you collected in the depths of the sea were set aside— all covered with jagged lines and stab marks.
these past few days, lo’ak has been training with tsireya, leaving little room for you to be alone with him. the idea of him spending time with another girl left you completely bitter and miserable.
in celebration of his efforts, tsireya embraced him tightly, firmly wrapping her arms around his neck. lo’ak looked unsure what to do, his hands awkwardly hovering over her waist. all you could do is silently drag your knife as you carved the shell— each drag left a sour chime.
his eyes locked with yours, noticing the glint of red in your usual soft eyes. lo’ak gave you a reassuring gaze, whispering something in tsireya’s ear. whatever he said made her jump away in surprise and her silky voice released an endless amount of apologies— prompting her to leave the both of you alone.
the grip on your knife finally loosened, a rush of blood flooding back into your relieved veins. lo’ak walked over to you with a small smile on his blue face— flustered at how pretty you looked with a glare.
“you good?” he tilted his head in curiosity, taking one of the terribly carved shells and tossing them back into the clear ocean.
you feigned a smile, but the dark pools of your eyes made it obvious that you were angry.
“yes, i’m fine.” lo’ak didn’t believe a word, but that only made him adore you even more.
he took your smaller hand into his larger ones, leading the both of you back into the village. for however long it’ll take him, he’ll always say he’s yours.

"Hello, love. I wasn't expecting to get a call from you."
I grinned at the voice of the youngest Mikaelson brother coming through the other end of the phone. I'd met him at the Grill a few weeks ago, and we'd pretty much immediately hit it off. I'd been trying to work up the courage to ask him out ever since, and after overhearing his siblings talking about how close he'd come to dying recently, I'd decided to stop wasting time and just give him a call.
"Hi Kol. Uh, I know this is kind of out of the blue, but... well, I wanted to see if you wanted to maybe get together at some point and... talk. Hang out. All that... stuff..."
I grimaced. I'd never done this before, and it was probably painfully obvious, especially to a vampire with a literal thousand years of experience.
"You want to get together and talk?" asked Kol, a lilt to his voice that I couldn't quite decipher. Everything in me screamed that I should bail out, but I grit my teeth and forced myself to toughen up.
"Yeah. If that's something you'd want to do."
"Oh, it very much is." My heart stopped. I'd been sure this call was about to be a total fumble, but apparently, somehow it'd worked? "What did you have in mind?"
"Uh..." I mentally kicked myself. I'd spent so much time trying to work up the nerve to actually call him, I hadn't thought at all about what I would do if he actually said yes. "Well, I don't know. Is there anywhere you'd especially like to meet up? Or anything you'd like to do?"
"How about your house?" The doorbell rang. "Right now?"
My brain short circuited. He was here? Now? I wasn't ready at all! The house was fairly clean, and I didn't look like a total mess, but I also wasn't ready for a date! And wasn't a first date supposed to be about thirty degrees more chill and removed, like a going to a movie or dinner or something?
I forced myself to take a deep breath. Yes, this was technically a first date, but Kol and I had interacted before. We were friendly, maybe even friends. It's not like he was some stranger I was about to let into my home.
"Uh, sure. Now is... now is good. I take it you're the one at my door?"
"Yes I am, darling."
"Okay. Well, then... I guess I'll see you in a second."
I hung up the phone before I could make any more of a fool of myself, paused at the mirror in the hallway to quickly adjust my outfit, then strode confidently to the front door. If I pretended to be confident, it would probably rub off and turn into the real thing, right?
I swung open my door to find a grinning Kol on the other side, one arm raised and resting against the doorframe. My heart did a little backflip at that, and I just hoped his vampire senses hadn't clued him in on it.
"Well? Aren't you going to invite me in?"
"Oh! Right, yeah, come on in, Kol."
He grinned at me as he slowly, deliberately put one foot over the threshold, then the other. He paused once he officially stood in my house, facing me with a look like he expected me to have some kind of reaction. I just gave him a smile.
"Welcome in. Uh, I'll be honest, I wasn't really prepared for you to come over, like, now. But we can make some drinks, maybe play a board game or something? I actually think I have an at-home dart board buried somewhere around here if you want to get your ass kicked like you did the first time we met."
Kol huffed a laugh, a smaller, more genuine smile pulling onto his face as he shook his head at me.
"Well, now we have to play, don't we? I can't let my honor be tarnished without fighting back."
"I think it only counts as tarnishing your honor if it's not true," I mused as I led Kol into the kitchen, incredibly aware of how closely he followed behind me. If vampires could hear heart beats, then I was well and truly screwed.
"Exactly. I didn't get my ass kicked in darts, so what you said wasn't true."
I paused long enough to give Kol a judgey look over my shoulder, then walked around to the cabinets behind the kitchen island.
"Alright, I'll go dig out the dartboard in a minute, but let's figure out drinks first. I'll be honest, I'm not the best bartender, but I'll see what I can do."
"Here, let me. I'm an excellent bartender."
Kol reached for the bottles in my hand, but I paused, holding them slightly away from him. He leaned into me, and my heart did its stupid jumping jacks again, although I ignored it. Instead, I fixed Kol with another look.
"Are you an excellent bartender in the way you're an excellent dart player? Or are you actually an excellent bartender?"
Kol shook his head, an edged smile spread on his face as he reached across me and took the bottles from my hands. I was more than a little disappointed when he pulled away.
"Alright, I'm going to make us some drinks while you go and get that dart board, right now. We're going to settle this, once and for all."
"I'm still not totally sure that I actually have it," I reminded him, walking backwards out of the kitchen. Kol just hummed, shooting me one last look as he got to work on the drinks before I turned the corner.
As soon as I was out of his sight, I paused to take a few deep breaths. I was starting to feel seriously giddy hanging out with him like this, and I needed to calm the hell down. It was a casual first date, after all. I didn't need to get ahead of myself.
Once the butterflies in my chest had settled down a bit, I walked the rest of the way to the hall closet, or what I thought of as my junk closet. It was packed with things that were just useful or sentimental enough that I didn't want to throw them away, but that basically never came in handy on a regular basis. If that dartboard someone had gotten me for my birthday a few years ago was anywhere, it would be here.
I dug through a few boxes I thought might be likely candidates, trying to remember where past me might've put things last time I'd organized everything. Finally, after what felt like way too much searching, I found it at the bottom of a box on a higher shelf. Even better, a bag with all the darts still together was with it.
I grinned, doing a little triumphant fist pump to myself before turning to head out of the closet. In the doorway, however, I found Kol hovering, watching me intently, a menacing air about him that hadn't been there earlier.
"Hey... what are you doing?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow at me and crossed his arms.
"Me? I was about to ask you the same thing, darling. It really took you that long to find the dart board?"
I furrowed my eyebrows at him, watching for any clues as to what the hell he was doing before briefly glancing away to check the time my phone. Honestly, it hadn't even been that long.
"I mean, yes? Have you looked around this closet at all since you got here? It's a mess. How long have you been standing there, anyway?"
"I'm not an idiot, sweetheart," he said instead of answering me, taking another step forward. I narrowed my eyes at him. "I know you're back here messaging your little friends, trying to set up another ambush for me after the first one didn't work. I know how you Mystic Falls people like to operate."
My frown deepened. "Kol, what the hell are you talking about?"
"Don't play innocent with me, darling, it won't work. So who have you been texting?"
"No one, other than you! I knew you were acting weird on the phone, and when you first showed up. I thought my nerves were just getting the better of me, but apparently not."
"Nerves for what? Don't tell me Jeremy's going to come bursting through the door playing Van Helsing again."
"Jeremy who, Kol? Seriously, I have no idea what you're talking about."
For the first time since he'd appeared in the closet doorway, Kol seemed to believe me. His look changed from borderline threatening to almost as confused as my own.
"Jeremy Gilbert."
I paused, trying to place the name. It sounded familiar, but it took me a little while to figure out why.
"That's... Elena Gilbert's little brother? Right?"
"Yes. You're actually trying to tell me you don't know him?"
I scoffed. "Kol, of course I don't know him. I graduated from high school when he was still in middle school. I barely remember him or his sister."
He studied me, eyes scanning my face, apparently looking for some sign of a lie. I just watched him back, waiting on some kind of explanation for this to make sense.
"So you're not working with Elena and her little group of friends, then? Or either of the Salvatores?"
"No, Kol. Working with them on what?"
"You're not lying."
"I know I'm not lying! Now what the hell are you talking about?"
Kol sighed, slumping back against the doorframe a little, the tension easing out of his body although he still looked a little confused. I could relate.
"Elena and Jeremy tried to kill me not too long ago," he said, as if he was saying they'd asked him for directions on the street. "Elena tried to keep me busy by lying about wanting to discuss a truce with me. I assumed this was a terrible second attempt at the same thing."
I sighed, shaking my head and closing my eyes for a beat as I leaned against the shelf behind me. I knew he was a vampire, and I'd even known someone had tried to kill him recently. But somehow, I'd underestimated the level of ridiculous drama and miscommunication that would likely create.
"Yikes. Well... I'm glad you survived, and I can honestly tell you that I'm not a part of any plot to try to kill you. I can't even remember the last time I talked to Elena, and the only time I've ever talked to either of the Salvatores was when Damon was drunk and hit on me at the Grill."
Kol snorted. "Sounds familiar."
"I'm sure."
The two of us stayed put, neither moving to stand up or leave the closet, neither speaking either. The silence just hung, and I had no idea what I was supposed to do next, so it was a relief when Kol leaned forward, the menace in his posture gone and replaced by tentative curiosity.
"You know, this leaves us with a very important question."
"And what's that?"
"If you weren't trying to drive a stake through my heart... why did you call me and ask to meet up?"
And just like that, the relief was replaced with sheer nervous panic.
"Uh... well..."
Kol grinned and took a few steps towards me.
"You said you wanted to get together and talk," he said, a teasing tone to his voice that made my heart speed up at the same time that it made me want to give him a shove. "What exactly did you want to talk about, if not murdering me?"
I shook my head, trying and failing to keep a smile off my face. Kol was well and truly in my space now, standing right in front of me, one arm over my head and leaning against the shelf behind me. Based on the grin he gave me when I met his eyes, I got the feeling he could hear my heart racing.
"I... Well, I was trying to ask you on a date."
"Were you now?" asked Kol, his shit eating grin doubling in size. I huffed.
"Yes. And it took a lot of effort to work up the courage to actually go through with it, so if you're just messing with me right now with the whole leaning into my space and flirting thing, I might actually join Team Try To Kill Kol."
Kol just laughed and shook his head, leaning in a little bit further as he did. I couldn't help a subconscious glance at his lips, and with the way they curled up even further, I knew he'd noticed.
"I'd never dream of messing with you about this, darling. Honestly, this is the best news I've gotten in days. If I hadn't been working to keep a few different people from killing me, I would've asked you out a week ago."
I grinned. "Really?"
"Absolutely."
I huffed a happy, disbelieving laugh as Kol leaned the rest of the way in, his lips finding mine. Fireworks exploded in my chest at the sensation, especially as he wrapped one arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. My hands found his shoulders, holding on tightly, and when I finally pulled away after a few long, long moments, I was a little breathless and a little dizzy.
"Now that was worth thinking I was about to be vampire-slayed," said Kol, grinning at me before starting to lean in again. I laughed, but put a hand to his chest to stop him.
"I agree, but this is still a first date. I want to actually talk to you and get to know you beyond the few conversations we've had at the Grill, not just make out in my closet."
"You didn't like making out in the closet?"
"I didn't say that." Kol grinned, and I gave him an exasperated smile of my own. "I like this, Kol, a lot. But I could've just kept flirting at you with the Grill if all I wanted was to make out with you. Dates are supposed to be... a little more than that, at least to me."
Kol sighed, bringing his hand up to cup my chin and running his thumb across my lips before stepping back. My heart was doing backflips, and from the smirk on his face, I knew he could tell.
"Alright then, darling. I'll give your version of a date a try. As much as I like making out in closets, it might be nice to just talk to you for a bit, too."
I beamed at him. "Good. Although, it doesn't have to be all talk." I retrieved the dartboard that had been shoved back onto a shelf when Kol had first gotten in my space and held it up. "We have a few things to settle, after all."
"Oh yes we do. Come on love, our drinks are waiting in the kitchen. You're going to need one, so you have something to blame your loss on later tonight."
"Keep talking, Twilight. It's just gonna make it that much sweeter when I win."

I am not sure if anyone here has already made this connection or pointed this out (apologies if so), but while doing some research into Flatland/the 11 dimensions the other day, I discovered something pretty interesting…
In the ‘Book of Bill’ announcement video, as well as distorted, synthesised background music and the Morse Code (which has already been deciphered), we can also hear several lines of spoken dialogue, the first of which being the line: “some other mystic dimension”.
Timestamp: 0:04
youtube
Now, this line already raises several questions - which ‘dimension’ is being referring to here? And why is it considered to be ‘mystic(al)’? Well, we don’t have a definite answer to either of those questions just yet, but if you will humour me for a moment, I have a few suggestions. Either this ‘other mystic dimension’ could be referring to Bill’s own homeland, the Second Dimension (which would naturally be considered ‘other’, ‘mystic’ and generally unfamiliar to us, the readers), or perhaps, it is referring to the Third Dimension itself, or what is known as Spaceland (Height/Up) in Abbott’s novella. I think the latter to be far more likely, especially with what I am about to show you. This is where my excessive YouTube deep-diving habits came in useful.
During my research quest, I stumbled upon this video of the famous astronomer and science communicator Carl Sagan (take note of this name) explaining the concept of the Fourth Dimension, as well as other Flatland-adjacent things. And lo and behold, at 4:37, what do we hear?
youtube
“And the poor Square has to say: ‘Well, I was in some other mystic dimension called Up…”
Yes, that’s right. The exact words that were used in the promo video.
To provide you some context, here Sagan is recounting the experience of A Square who, with the guidance and revelations of A Sphere, has just returned from a recent foray into the Third Dimension, and is trying to explain his sudden disappearance and newfound knowledge of Height to his friends. So saying, it is likely that the ‘other mystic dimension’ being referred to in the BoB video is in fact, the Third Dimension, since this is a book that has been written from Bill’s perspective, and it seems that he will be filling in the role of A Square in this narrative, discovering the Secrets Of The Universe and all. Although, I must emphasise that this is still just speculation on my part, based on the assumption that Bill’s backstory will be pretty similar to, if not a direct retelling of Flatland:
“Flat minds in a flat world with flat dreams.”
Who knows, Alex Hirsch may just subvert our expectations entirely.
“I liberated my dimension (…)” / “Saw his own dimension burn. Misses home and can’t return.”
Anyway, I have another little piece of the puzzle to share. The line spoken in the announcement video isn’t merely a word-for-word recreation of what Carl Sagan said, It is Carl Sagan. They used a direct clip from an episode of Cosmos. This has me giddy with excitement, because Carl Sagan, a man with much notoriety within the scientific community, and many achievements and accolades to his name, is known to be one of Ford’s scientific idols.
Tumblr media
The level of detail in this show, and I guess now in its extended literary canon’s advertisement material, is insane. Do with this information what you will. Perhaps there’s a connection here that will be expounded upon in the book. Perhaps it’s just a cool reference. Even so, it is a very intriguing one nonetheless, especially with the tie-ins to Flatland, theoretical physics and Ford’s hero-worshipping. It’s clearly intentional.
(If anyone is interested, here is an excellent meta which provides a very detailed exploration and analysis of Ford’s respective connections to Sagan and Tesla.)

Tumblr media Tumblr media
(this is my first smut so any opinions would be appreciated!)
You got back home from work and noticed your boyfriend acting a bit differently. He gives you very dry replies and doesn't look your way when you speak to him. Already exhausted from work, you decide to talk to him after taking a shower.
After your relaxing shower, which helps you forget all about the stress work has been giving you lately, you dry yourself off and wrap the towel around you. While walking towards your bedroom, where both you and your boyfriend stay, you can hear soft whimpers coming from the room.
You decide to open the door just enough to be able to see your naked boyfriend frantically humping on one of your decorative pillows.
You finally realize why Heeseung was acting the way he did when you came in. At the beginning of the month, your boss gave you a very important assignment to complete, and you have been working on it nonstop throughout the entire month. As a result, you completely forgot about both your needs and your boyfriend's.
You started thinking to yourself how nice it was of your boyfriend to not bother you while you work but you felt bad for neglecting him.
Quietly, you start walking in to watch him pleasure himself. you notice that your pillow is now ruined because of all his precum.
"y/n please i’m so close". you didn’t expect him to call out your name but you’re glad to see he did not notice you yet. You notice him getting tired by the way his thrusts were starting to get sloppy.
When he halts his movements you decide to make your presence known. “is this the reason why you gave me the cold shoulder?” The sudden awareness of someone else being in the room made your boyfriend jump and let out a high pitched scream.
“OMG Y/N i thought you were still showering” he said while covering himself with the pillow he was just pleasuring himself on.
“answer my question” you say in a cold tone. Your tone made heeseung leak even more precum.
“ i..i…yes” he said with a blush covering his cheeks. “i didn’t want to bother you while you worked but i got so horny and i only want to cum with your touch…”
You try your best not to smirk at his reply but you can’t help it, your boyfriend does listen to everything you say after all. Last time you had sex you told him he could not cum unless you were the one telling him to. Knowing he listened to you and didn’t cum since then made you hornier than you already were.
you decided to walk towards him and grab the pillow to look at his member. “you know you could’ve said something even if i was busy” you say before touching the precum on his tip.
As soon as he feels your finger on his tip he starts moving towards your hand for more friction. “please y/n i’m so desperate” he says while looking at you.
The face he’s making is one that makes you lose your mind every time. His eyes are shiny, his lips are red and plump, his cheek have a soft blush of pink and his hair is messy. How could you resist to this.
“use my hand since you seem to be into humping today” you say to him while closing your hand around his throbbing member begging for release.
and as soon as you do that he starts fucking your hand but that only lasted for a couple of seconds since he was already exhausted. “y/n please i’m tired i need to cum please make me cum”. he mumbles more words that you can’t decipher the meaning of so you decide to finally give him what he’s been waiting for.
you slowly pump him without the need of extra lube since his precum is already doing that for you. He’s already a moaning mess and ready to cum. To enhance his pleasure you start rubbing one of his nipples with your free hand.
The wet sounds of your hand on his member and his loud moans are driving you crazy so you finally remove your towel and put yourself on one of his thighs and decide to ride it while going faster with your pumping motion.
“y/n, y/n, y/n” he moans loudly and cums all over your hand and his stomach.
After he came back to his senses you get of his thighs and he hugs you tightly. “i’m sorry for not telling you i was frustrated i didn’t want to make you feel bad but i also didn’t want you to get scolded at work”
“it’s okay heeseung don’t feel bad i love you” you kiss him and decide it has been a long evening for you two. “i’ll clean you up just stay there” you say while grabbing the towel that was previously covering your body.
“what about you, you didn’t cum yet” he says in a worried and embarrassed tone for only thinking about his own pleasure.
“don’t worry i’ll take care of it later” you say while cleaning his body up. He suddenly grabs you and switch your position and he’s now on top of you.
“please let me eat you out i also missed your body” he says in the softest tone. So how could you decline such an inviting offer.

TTPD Gaylor Lyric Analysis
Because there are so many songs, I’m only analysing the gayest ones.
SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG TO POST THIS!!!!!!
But Daddy I Love Him
Possibly Taylor’s gayest song EVER.
‘These people only raise you to cage you’
A lot of this is about her team, handlers and parents wanting her to stay closeted.
‘These people try to save you because they hate you’
This references judgemental religious people, to whom if she ever came out would want to save her, and pray for her, out of faux concern.
‘Sarahs and Hannahs in their Sunday best’
Again, religious Bible names, but also could reference American conservatives.
‘Told my parents and they came around’
This has to be about being gay. I really doubt her parents wouldn’t have a HUGE problem or be able to influence her that much in terms of problematic men, since she has dated many previously, such as John Mayer and Jake Gylenhall.
‘Tell him to floor it through the fences’
This references Getaway Car, but I also think it references the YNTCD fences, and the other fence meme.
‘I’d rather burn my whole life down’ Dating a man would never ‘burn down’ her entire life.
Down Bad
‘Crying at the gym’
Taylor and Karlie went to the gym all the time. There is so much photographic evidence of this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Side note (which I think I have previously posted about): I’ve always found it odd how they would be so dressed up for the gym, particularly Taylor. It makes me think they were having lunch or hanging out in secret, for some privacy from the paparazzi maybe?
‘Like I just lost my twin’
Tumblr media
Do I really need to elaborate this line?
‘Fuck it if I can’t have him’
I genuinely see no way Taylor couldn’t date any man she really wanted. The only way she REALLY couldn’t have someone would have to be a HUGE reason.
‘Did you take all my old clothes, just to leave me here naked and alone?’
A man wouldn’t take a woman’s clothes, Also, Taylor and Karlie shared a load of clothes back in the day.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Guilty As Sin?
The religious undertones continue, along with the references to heaven and angels.
‘Written mine on my upper thigh, only in my mind’
‘What if the way you hold me, is the thing that’s holy’
‘Without touching his skin, how can I be guilty as sin’
Surely it isn’t a sin by any standards to THINK about having sex with a man? But a woman, YES.
‘I keep my longest locked, in lower case inside a vault’.
This was suggest she has repressed longings she needs to hide, but also suggests ‘loml’ and ‘iwannagetyouback’ are important to listen to and decipher.
Fresh Out The Slammer
‘Fresh out the slammer, I’m running back home to you’
This suggests being imprisoned or trapped. To consider a 6 year relationship as being a prison would be offensive to Joe, but would make sense if this was just another fake relationship she’s trapped in until she can finally be with the person she has been waiting for.
Clara Bow
‘You look like Stevie Nicks, in ‘75, the hair and lips’
At first I didn’t understand why this reference jumped out at me- I then realised that there was this tweet comparing Karlie to Steve Nicks’ ex, Linsday Buckingham.
Tumblr media
‘You look like Clara Bow in this life, remarkable’
She sings about women and their features throughout this song.
‘Half moonshine, full eclipse’
Karlie is always referred to the sunshine, hiding the sun would be an eclipse.
Tumblr media
Peter
‘In closets like cedar, preserved from when we were just kids’
‘You said you were gonna grow up, then you were gonna come find me’
This suggests waiting for someone when they can finally be together.
‘As the men masqueraded, I hope you’d return’
Men masquerading suggests acting or pretending, just as her beards have been until she can be in a real relationship with the person she actually wants to be with.
iwannagetyouback
‘Wait til you fix your face’
Only a girl would need to fix their face. This also aligns with The 1975 song ‘Girls’, the one that was playing when Taylor and Karlie famously kissed.
Tumblr media
‘Curse you out, or pull you into the closet’
I mean, again, when does someone ever literally pull some into a closet? Only figuratively.
Chloe Or Sam Or Sophia Or Marcus
The premise of the song is talking about someone bisexual. It’s impossible to decipher it any other way.
So, she’s outing and implicating one of her previous boyfriends which would be EXTREMELY problematic.
On the other hand, if she was singing about a bisexual woman, that would make sense. There is less stigma surrounding bisexual women compared to men, by some extent.
Tumblr media
The Prophecy
‘Don’t want money, just someone who really loves me’
Again, this doesn’t make sense to attribute to a man. Why would she lose money by being in a relationship? Only if it was incredibly controversial, like a queer one.
Also, ‘The Prophecy’ suggests that this is the way things have to be, have been and will be. However, if she changes this it will not be expected for others in the future.
‘I got cursed like Eve got bitten’
‘Was it punishment?’
This alludes once again to sin and religious imagery, but also about how being LGBT can feel like a curse or something unwanted.
‘Looked to the sky’
This suggests God is responsible for the prophecy itself.
‘Pat around when I get home’ alludes to crime and accusations. Perhaps growing up her family were maybe onto her concerning where she’s been and who she’s been with.
Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me?
‘You don’t get to tell me about sad’
‘You wouldn’t last a year in the asylum where they raised me’
As discussed online, Taylor didn’t grow up with any particular trauma or a bad childhood by any stretch of the imagination. However, the concept of her being closeted on a global scale, to constantly having to lie in order to keep her livelihood is pretty traumatic in my opinion.
A lot of people wouldn’t be able to survive that.
Tumblr media
Please tell me what your interpretations are! 🌼🌈

So my dear ao3 commenters.
I love you. You are dear to all of our writerly hearts. We appreciate all that you do in encouraging our work! Especially when not everyone chooses to comment for various reasons (and no judgement from me personally I am not about guilting people into stuff)
But I have one request to make to all commenting-kind.
Please PLEASE I BEG YOU. If you are leaving a comment on something you enjoyed. Please EXPLICITLY say something positive about it. “I enjoyed this.” “Looking forward to reading more” “loved this” it can be utterly simple but it needs to be explicit.
I have seen many authors (and experienced myself) receive comments with a tone that is neutral at best and struggle with being able to tell if the person even liked it.
Worse yet, I have also seen people leave comments with character analysis that is overtly negative, as in, disagreeing with the character’s actions. Which by itself with no contextual “I enjoyed reading this character be an asshole” it just comes across like you are complaining about the writing or that you didn’t like how this character was written. Which is obviously not what you’re going for if you liked the fic.
Also please never ever ever leave a comment that is literally just pointing out a typo and nothing else. I personally don’t mind getting typo corrections (though be careful many authors do not like it) I would be seriously annoyed if someone felt the urge to comment because they had to correct me but apparently had no equal urge to say anything nice.
So please try to be explicitly clear about your enjoyment of a fic when leaving a comment. It also makes it much easier for the author to reply when they know you actually liked it. Please don’t assume we will know you enjoyed it because you are commenting, we get shitty asshole comments too.
So yes, tldr: please explicitly state you liked a fic in some fashion when commenting on it. Writers are not mind readers and deciphering tone in text has always been difficult.

hi can u make some Percy jackson x reader in wich reader is a songwriter or plays a instrument
Tumblr media Tumblr media
percy jackson dating a musically talented s/o
Tumblr media
pairing: percy jackson x gn! reader
content warning: couplely things?
word count: 897
author's note: sorry in advance if any of the info about the guitar scene was wrong. i wrote it purely based off of what i found on google so!
Tumblr media
when i say that percy’s your biggest fan…HE IS YOUR BIGGEST FAN.
no matter what you do, he’s always so impressed and awestruck. it literally could be something as simple as you practicing your instrument and he’d be looking at you as if you just finished performing a life-altering concert. even if you’re just quietly humming a random tune, percy would stop whatever he’s doing to listen to you. he’s so obsessed it’s kinda funny.
percy absolutely loves hearing your own original songs. he could never find flaws in your art. even if you consider one of them to not be your best work, he’d believe it to be the best thing that’s ever graced his ears.
sometimes you think he’s lying, because how does he manage to fall in love with every single thing that you write?? honestly, i bet you could write a song about dirty laundry and he’d still find something to love about it.
“hey perce, wanna hear this new song i’m working on?” you ask your boyfriend.  he immediately turns his attention from a random knick knack on top of your dresser onto you, “yeah, lemme hear it.”  you open your notebook to find the page with your newest song, titled peanut allergies. yes, it’s a stupid name, but that was the point. you wanted to write a song so bad that percy wouldn’t be able to come up with a single compliment for it.  “okay, it’s still a work in progress, but-”  percy interjects, “don’t worry babe, your songs are always good.”  you hold back a grin before reaching for your guitar. glancing up at him for a second, you take note of the wide grin that he has on display. you’re anticipating the moment when his smile begins to falter.  as percy listens to your song about the severity of peanut allergy reactions, you peek up at him only to see his smile still standing strong. then, when you finish performing your song, he gives you a round of applause, “babe that was so good!”  for a hot minute, you narrow your eyes at him, trying to find at least a miniscule amount of amusement behind them. none. percy was dead serious. he tilits his head, trying to decipher why you were staring at him so intensely.  “what? that was like, probably the worst thing i’ve ever written?” you say.  he gives you a strange look, as if what you said was the weird thing, “i for one, thought it was poetic.”
percy’s favorite camp activity are the sing-alongs. not because he likes to sing, but because he likes hearing you sing. he’s gotten very good at singling out your voice and drowning out the others.
sometimes the morning after a camp sing-along, one of your friends will tell you that they saw percy staring at you. after inquiring more, they’d say that he had his eyes transfixed on you the entire time, never once looking away. later, an aphrodite kid would tell you that even they were shocked by the amount of love radiating from percy. you make a mental note to give him extra kisses later.
karaoke dates!!
somehow the stoll brothers managed to smuggle in a karaoke machine…now you and percy are the most frequent users of it. a lot of the times, you’ll bring it to hang outs with your guys friends. you two love seeing their reactions to you guys singing cheesy couple songs. “love is an open door” and “don’t go breaking my heart” are your go-to’s.
despite how bad he is, percy loves it when you try to teach him how to play your instruments. so far you’ve been teaching him the guitar, and he’s slowly picking it up!
the only reason why it’s taking him so long to learn is because of how much you distract him. he loves the close contact with you. especially when you have to rearrange his fingers or his posture. percy notices the way your hands sometimes linger for a few seconds longer than necessary.
taking the guitar, you arrange your fingers to play a-minor. looking down at the instrument, you give percy a run-down of how to position his fingers, “yeah so first, you wanna put your index finger on the first fret of your b string. then, your middle finger goes on the second…” you peek up at percy to see him looking at you, “love, are you even paying attention.”  “uh…yes,” he tries.  you give him a look of amusement, “yeah? show me a-minor then.”  “right,” percy takes the guitar out of your lap, and places his fingers on the complete opposite of where he was supposed to.  you chuckle, “um no, that’s actually d-minor. pay attention next time, hm?”  “yeah sorry, i was just uh…distracted,” he says sheepishly. you furrow your brows, “what’s distracting you?”  “you,” percy blurts out without thinking.  feining a look of disgust, you playfully push your boyfriend’s shoulder, “you are such a creep.”  but percy knows that you aren’t really mad. in fact, he doesn’t fail to notice your flushed cheeks and lack of eye contact as you try to return to your lesson.
in spite of how much he’s been practicing, percy somehow still sucks. he claims it’s because “there can only be one musician in this relationship.”
there definitely won’t be songs featuring percy any time soon.

I rewatched Agent Carter 2x04, and it was worse than I remembered!
No matter how high up Michael is, it is very difficult to believe that the SOE would recruit within Bletchley, because codebreaking work is a very specialized kind of work that requires a particular set of skills and interests that... do not seem to overlap at all with those of a field agent-spy. Besides that, it would duplicate the costs, as it would require covering the costs of SOE training for Peggy AND for her replacement at Bletchley. It's nonsense. Even if Peggy had been asked for for ciphering (which is clearly not the case because the series is trying to explain why and how she ended in the SSR), it doesn't fit because ciphering depended on its own special branch of the army and was, for obvious reasons, different to the one used by the Germans that Bletchley was trying to decipher.
Michael, Peggy, and her fiancé are freely chatting in a public place about government secrets. MICHAEL, PEGGY AND HER FIANCÉ ARE FREELY CHATTING IN A PUBLIC PLACE ABOUT GOVERNMENT SECRETS.
Last and least but still bothers me, unless they were lucky in the "recycling an old bridal dress" department, Peggy's wedding dress is nonsense. Yes, clothes weren't rationed until 1941, but that doesn't mean fabrics weren't much more scarce and expensive before that, because of... you know... sea warfare and Britain getting so much of its resources from overseas. Besides that, she's engaged to a soldier, meaning she is to get married whenever he gets leave. Ain't no time for making much of an elaborate dress, or leisurely try ons. Because besides that... SHE'S A GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE IN ONE OF THE MOST INTENSIVE BRANCHES OF THE WAR EFFORT.
In a more realistic setting, Peggy would have probably been recruited directly into the SOE -where did Peggy ever show a knack for words and numbers and puzzle solving in the way codebreaking is?- and if you want to preserve more of what was written for s2, you can make it so that her recruitment has to do with something her mom thought was unfeminine in her, have Michael support her, and her breakup with her soldier fiancé being about... well, her joining the SOE, which would have been incompatible at that point with marriage.

The Whisper Challenge
Tumblr media
wc: 650 pronouns: none used; n/a... reader is a boys planet trainee but it's just a story, so you can pretend any gender is allowed to compete-- it doesn't alter the story in any way! warnings: just fluff :) summary: trainee!reader puts together a super special secret bonus round of the boys planet whisper challenge for ricky this was a request and i'm sorry i'm only just getting to it! i hope you like this little drabble... i love baby ricky sm <3 masterlist
Repositioning your headphones on your head after turning the sound off, you prepare for the "bonus round" that your fellow trainees helped you plan. This super special Whisper Challenge round had been suggested to you today by Hao, who was sick of you and Ricky making googly eyes at each other during Over Me practice.
"The faster you two can date and then get bored of each other, the better our chances of winning Artist Battle," Hao had said yesterday as both you and Ricky desperately avoided making eye contact in the practice room the rest of the day.
You take a deep breath, calming your nerves as you put your plan into place. Smiling at Ricky, you relay the final secret phrase to him:
"Will you go out with me?"
Ricky frowns and, for a second, you think you've been found out already. But suddenly he grins as he screams back at you:
"YOU ARE A COW TO ME!"
All of the trainees burst into laughter, Ricky's expression so hilariously genuine after accidentally calling you a cow. You fight the urge to smack him, shaking your head as you prepare to give him the phrase again.
"Will. You. Go. Out. With. Me," you annunciate, stressing every vowel and consonant as Ricky stares at your lips-- his brows furrowed in complete concentration.
"WILLEM. DAFOE. IS. GREEN!" He shouts back with wide eyes.
"What?" Kuan Jui asks in bewilderment. "That doesn't even make sense!"
"No, he's right! Willem Dafoe is green," Jay interjects. "... Green Goblin."
"How did he guess that?" A perplexed Hao raises his eyebrows as he continues, "Ricky's never even seen Spiderman..."
"Will!" You shout just one word this time.
"WELL!" Ricky shouts back.
"Wiiiiiill!" You emphasize again.
"WILL!" Ricky correctly guesses this time and you nod enthusiastically to encourage him.
"You!" You move on to the next word, the huge grin that's been stuck on your face for the last five minutes starting to ache.
"YOON!" He yells; concentration unwavering.
"Do not bring me into this," Jongwoo protests from the crowd, shaking his head in disappointment.
"YOOUUU-UH!" You attempt to emphasis the last letter more effectively.
Ricky nods, guessing, "YOU!"
You clap you hands together excitedly, hopping up and down before pronouncing the next phrase, "Go... Out..."
"GO HAO!"
Zhang Hao looks around nervously. "Where should I go?"
"GO... OUT-UH!" You try once more, stomach starting to flutter as Ricky gets closer to deciphering the phrase.
"GO OUT!?" He guesses, the crowd of trainees cheering in anticipation in front of you.
You place your hands on Ricky's shoulders to deliver the final word and he leans in to touch his forehead to yours like he often did during challenges-- pretending to make your minds meld.
"Me," you finish the phrase, holding your breath as Ricky watches your lips move.
His eyes light up as he comprehends the word. "ME!"
You nod excitedly, a lump in your chest as you wait for him to put the phrase together.
"WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME!?" Ricky shouts the whole phrase back at you.
You take your headphones off, placing them around your neck. "Yes," you answer as all of the trainees in the crowd shriek with excitement.
Ricky's eyebrows furrow innocently as he tilts his head to the side cutely, confusion written all over his face. "What? What's going--?"
Watching as realization sets in, your bottom lip tucks between your teeth cheekily as Ricky removes his headphones.
"Oh." The self-proclaimed Charisma Boss is nowhere insight as Ricky's cheeks turn bright pink. "Um... I--... Um..."
You giggle deviously at him as your plan unfolds exactly to your liking. A grin spreads across his face as he realizes he's fallen right into your trap.
"Yes," you repeat your answer. "Since you asked so nicely... I will go out with you."

chapter 5 of dreaming of after is out <33 i didn't post a sneak peek this week but here is ur snippet (go read the chap though)
Sirius opened the door, hair unbrushed and still in his pajamas, ready to tell his visitor to fuck right off so he could nap. What he did not expect was his husband to be standing on the other side, looking perfect as ever.
Without thinking, his mouth started moving: "Oh, fuck. " Sirius slapped a hand over his mouth, absolutely mortified at what he’d said. Several long, horrible, awkward moments passed between them, Remus staring blankly with his jaw hanging slightly open. Years ago-- a few months ago, even-- Sirius felt like he could see the love blossoming in Remus' eyes for him. It had been an awkward discovery, at first, realizing that someone was looking at you like you'd hung the moon. The first few times he saw that look, he couldn't help but cower away from it, blushing and hiding his face. Over time, though, he'd come to relish in it. He'd learned to read Remus' mind through his body language: the taut pull of his shoulders when he was stressed, the working of his jaw as he rolled the inside of his lip between his teeth when he thought too hard, the softening of his eyes when he wanted to be done fighting and go back to being in love. Now, though, there was an emotion written across Remus' face that he didn't recognize (or maybe a lack of one, if he thought about it). He had no idea what Remus was feeling, or what he was thinking, and this was a fairly new phenomenon. He spent so long trying to decipher the clues hidden in Remus' features that he hadn't realized he couldn't breathe with his hand over his mouth, index finger pressed under his nostrils. He wrenched his hand away, taking in a desperate breath of air. "I'm so sorry," he said, all in one breath.  Remus shifted awkwardly. "'S'fine. Can I come in?" Two days ago, Sirius would've made some remark about Remus not needing to ask to enter his own house, but he felt protective over it, now. Remus was the one who'd left. He'd sacrificed his claim to this house, had retreated to his mommy and daddy, had refused to come back when begged to. It was Sirius' now, his safe place, his home base in their ongoing battle. So yes, he could ask permission to enter Sirius' house that had Sirius' bedroom and housed Sirius' kid. "Yes," Sirius answered, trying his best to sound diplomatic. He stepped aside and let Remus walk in, then shut the door behind him. Remus moved into the living room, looking about. Right, Sirius thought, he's not here for you, he's here for Cassie. "I didn't know you were coming so early," he explained, "she just went down for her nap, but I'll wake her." "No, no," Remus said quickly. "I, erm, I was... at James and Lily’s. Didn't want to drive all the way back to Mom and Dad's, so..." Sirius briefly felt sympathy for Remus, driving at least an hour each way every time, but he quickly stifled it. There was absolutely no way he would be driving to Hope and Lyall's, both due to the inconvenience and the possibility of coming face-to-face with his soon-to-be-ex-husband's parents. No, Remus could be inconvenienced, and Sirius would not feel guilty for it, because Remus had chosen to leave. "Right. Well, you're welcome to..." Sirius trailed off as Remus turned and looked at him. That look, he knew.

Jacaerys Velaryon x Reader
Warnings: Violence
Word Count: Drabble
The Sword's Edge
A/N: Written and posted on mobile. Not proofread. Something for the Jace fans.
Masterlist / Taglist / Request: Open
"My love, you must try this." Jacaerys says.
He shoves a forkful of cake into your mouth. It is too sweet and you can't bare to tell him that you think it is disgusting. Your teeth feel like the are being shocked with every chew. Jacaerys lays his hand on your shoulder.
"Let us go congratulate the bride and groom again." Jacaerys says excitedly, "Maybe we can ask for their blessing of our marriage."
When he turns his back you spit the sponge like cake in to a napkin, and follow after him. He puts his hand behind his back and reaches out for you to take it. He guides you through the dance floor and the many tables of food.
When you get to the married couples table the bride is absolutely enthralled with the groom. She sits in his lap and runs her fingers through his hair. He looks nervous but happy.
"Would you like that to be us some day?" You jest, elbowing Jacaerys in the side.
"Oh yes, very much." Jacaerys replies.
You can see in his eyes that he is dreaming up every detail of your wedding already. It will be much more extravagant that this as you are to marry when he became heir. Royal weddings are always large affairs.
"What have we here?" A familiar voice curls around your ears and envelopes you like smoke.
You feel a hand snake around your waist and pull you close. Out of the corner of your eye a curtain of sliver hair.
"You'd do well to take your hands off my intended, Aemond." Jacaerys barks.
"They were once intended to be mine, but nobel houses are so fickle like that. Maybe, if I 'take care' of the right people their lord father will see if to gift them back." Aemond says.
You shove Aemond off, "Not if I have anything to say about it."
Aemond scans your face trying to decipher something out your very clear statement. Jacaerys reaches for your hand, and holds it firmly.
"We have to go wish the couple well now." Jacaerys says through gritted teeth.
"Fine, but be sure to come find me when you want to marry into the legitimate side of the family." Aemond whispers.
"I dare you to say that again." You shout as you draw Jacaerys sword from his side.
The whole room stands still. Not a breath nor whisper could be heard among them. Aemond stands perfectly still curiosity and surprise dancing in his eye, and just a hint of fear.
"As if you knew how to use it." Aemond retorts.
He holds up two fingers to move the blade out of his face. There is suddenly a distinct wet sound. Aemond's fingers lay on the cold stone.
"I think you'll find I do." You say with a smile.
