This little guy is based on the German/Austrian folklore creature called Nachtrabe (or various spellings of Nachtkrabb depending on the region)

I've grown up with stories of giant raven-like beings appearing on the windowsill of children to either sing them to sleep and send beautiful dreams or to stare at them through the glass and give them nightmares if they've been naughty (lmao)

Wikipedia has also told me that apparently the Nachtkrabb, in some regions, is said to abduct and eat children who are out at night?? I honestly prefer the sandman-esque version I grew up with over Curfew Bird but I guess you can't have a German folktale without child vore, good job team

another question, but would the doc know his own sexuality? you headcanon him as aroace (i could be mistaken but eh i'm pretty sure he's aromantic as well as ace) but does he know? if not then i think it's funny giving him pins of flags and he's like "thanks!! uh..what does this mean, exactly?"

ah!! very good question!!

the first definition of asexual we have comes from 1897, the term aromantic did not really arise until 2002, and the aroace flag as we know it was not created until 2018! so if you were to hand him an aroace flag he would not know what it meant until you explained it to him, nor would he actually refer to himself as aroace. regardless of the time period however, he would know his own preferences and experiences even if he didnt have a term for it.

I go outside for two seconds to get some (hot) fresh air and get whacked in the face by a very thicc falling tree branch. Black eye time, it looks like. We have some nasty, hyper-aggressive squirrels who are always fighting in the trees near my parents' house so I should have been better prepared. Oh well. I shall accept my ice-pack like a champion.

How I suggest ingesting Kuroshitsuji for the first time :DD

First decide if you wanna start with the manga or the anime. We all thought the anime was done but it recently got its fourth season announced so hopes are high for more.

Manga first is my recommendation, everything in it is canon obviously, so you can read it all from start to finish. It's still ongoing tho so beware spoilers and cliffhangers.

If you wanna do anime first then it gets a lil complicated. Season one and two are almost completely non-canon. You're going to want to watch season one for key information like the red butler arc and character introductions, but other than that it's a self contained story. I recommend completely skipping season two since there's no information there that is Canon to the plot.

Watch through season three, the book of murder season (OVA?) and the book of Atlantic movie. Then and only then do I suggest going back to watch season two, if you enjoy the series enough to want more content. This is also when I recommend watching the OVA's like Ciel in Wonderland.

Amazing, you finished the manga and/or anime. But you want more content? We also have musicals! I highly recommend them. We gave adaptations of the red butler arc, the circus arc, the campania arc or even our favourite stand alone musical centred around the reapers.

We don't talk about the Netflix movie. I didn't watch it and neither should you.

At this point, I'm not so sure it matters what Horikoshi does with this story. No one's gonna be happy with it, which is sad to see. It’s disgusting to see such a seething hatred for an author like this before. Maybe it's just Twitter that is hypercritical of this story, I have no idea.

yeah, regardless of how horikoshi writes his story there will always be people who arent happy - its an impossible thing to do, especially as its such a big series.

people who have this kinda hatred for a series are just weird tho, and i think its better to ignore their opinion. in reality their words will usually never reach horikoshi himself. its better to just focus on how we as fans enjoy the series and appreciate his work :)
