What's so special about the rain?

Except for making me extremely annoyed to the core where I have to bring an umbrella—because I do bring an umbrella every day, it's a necessity—I’m a cat in a sense that I hate getting wet. But despite that, I love the rain.
I love the murky ambience it gives. I love how dark the sky looks and the comfort it brings me. I love the temperature of the rain—where it's not too hot that it burns my skin, nor too cold that it dries it up and leaves no moisture behind. I love the soft rhythm it sings while little drops fall from the sky, tapping against windows, slipping into the cracks of the world below.
And yet, I don’t love the destruction it brings—the way it floods streets, uproots trees, and strips away the beauty of the world it falls upon. Nature is absolutely beautiful, and I wish the rain would only nurture it, not take parts of it away.
It’s a pity that not everyone can enjoy the rain. Some without homes, some weighed down by bad days, some haunted by memories that the downpour drags back into the present.
So, what’s so special about these precipitated liquids?
Letting plants grow?
Comforting our souls?
Perhaps it’s the way the rain transforms everything, making the world feel alive again, even if just for a moment. As if it speaks in a language we all understand, even when we don't consciously hear it. The sound of it hitting rooftops, the gentle splash of puddles beneath our feet—it’s an invitation to pause, to slow down, to breathe.
The rain doesn’t care about our struggles, but in its quiet, unassuming way, it offers us a space to let go, to release our worries, to just be. And maybe that’s the real magic of it. It’s not in the storm or the chaos it can bring, but in those small, still moments where it reminds us that we’re part of something bigger, something more beautiful, even when it’s hidden beneath the clouds.
Everything under the rain makes it worthwhile seeing.

Weirdly Motivated to Write

Well, I did say that I have a new keyboard—to correct my posture and not look like a pretzel while I work remotely. Small victories, right?
Now, let’s talk about motivation. Because for some reason, I am absolutely buzzing with it today. Is it because of my keyboard? Most likely. Is that weird? Probably. But hey, I never claimed to be normal.
See, besides being a full-time student, I also have a job. And that job? Writing. Creating. Capturing life in words, pictures, and fleeting moments of inspiration. Filming, writing, photography—these are the things that make me absolutely happy. And honestly? Life is just too beautiful not to share.
There’s something about having the right tools that makes everything feel different. You could give me the exact same blank document yesterday, and I wouldn’t have been nearly as eager to write as I am today. But now? With my new keyboard? I feel like I could churn out a whole novel, rewrite history, or at the very least, write an unnecessarily long blog post about why I feel like writing.
Maybe it’s the clickity-clackity. (Yes, that’s a technical term.) There’s just something deeply satisfying about hearing each keystroke, like a tiny round of applause with every word I type. It’s hypnotizing. Encouraging. Addictive, even. Without it, I don’t think I’d be half as motivated to write.
And that brings me to a very important question:
Could this mean my iPad will replace my laptop?
Ha! Not a chance. Never. Not in a million years.
As much as I love this setup, there are things my iPad just cannot do. And honestly, those things make a huge difference in my daily workflow. Don’t get me wrong—iPads are fantastic. They’re lightweight, portable, and perfect for quick notes, reading, or sketching. But when it comes to serious work? My Windows laptop remains irreplaceable.

Why My Windows Laptop Wins Every Time
Multitasking Like a Pro iPads have some multitasking capabilities, but let's be real—nothing beats having multiple windows open, side by side, without limitations. On my laptop, I can have a research paper in one window, my notes in another, a video playing on the side, and Spotify running in the background. Try doing that on an iPad without constantly swiping between apps. It’s just not the same.
File Management That Actually Makes Sense The Windows file system is superior. Hands down. Drag-and-drop functionality, proper file explorer, external drive support—it’s just easier. iPads, on the other hand, have a clunky file system that often makes me want to scream into the void. Copying files? Moving them? Finding them again? It takes way longer than it should.
Software Compatibility & Heavy-Duty Programs This one’s a dealbreaker. There are so many professional-grade applications that just don’t run on iPads. Things like:
Adobe Premiere Pro for serious video editing (iPad versions are limited)
Photoshop & Illustrator (yes, they have mobile versions, but they’re nowhere near as powerful)
Microsoft Excel with Macros (because let's be honest, the iPad version is lacking)
Programming software & full IDEs (if I ever decide to code, my iPad will just sit there, useless)
Mouse & Keyboard Freedom Yes, iPads can connect to a mouse and keyboard, but do they truly function like a laptop? Nope. There are still weird limitations. Right-clicking? Custom shortcuts? The precision of a real trackpad or external mouse? Windows just does it better. Period.
Downloading Anything Without Jumping Through Hoops iPads don’t let you download everything you want, especially if it’s outside the App Store. Need a program that isn’t on Apple’s list of approved software? Too bad. Meanwhile, on Windows? I can download whatever I want, whenever I want, however I want. No restrictions.
Serious Writing & Formatting Writing on an iPad is fine for quick drafts, but when it comes to formatting long documents, citations, and exporting files in different formats? My laptop is my best friend. Whether it's proper PDF editing, running reference managers like Zotero, or managing multiple Word documents with complex layouts, iPads just don’t cut it.
Gaming & Emulation Okay, maybe not work-related, but still important! iPads have mobile games, sure. But do they run full-fledged PC games? Nope. Can I use them for game modding? Nope. Can I play older games with emulators? Again, nope. My Windows laptop, on the other hand? Unlimited possibilities.
The Verdict?
As much as I love the convenience of my iPad + keyboard combo, it will never replace my laptop. Ever. My laptop is where the real magic happens—the deep work, the serious projects, the things that actually require a proper computer.
But will I still use my iPad for writing on the go? Absolutely. Because nothing beats the clickity-clackity joy of my new keyboard. And if that keeps me weirdly motivated to write, then hey—I’ll take it.
So if you ever see me typing away somewhere, looking ridiculously focused, just know—it’s not me. It’s the keyboard.

Yes, I Bought a New Keyboard

So, I finally caved and got myself a new keyboard! No, it’s not a fancy mechanical one (I know, I know, the clicky-clacky sounds are fun), but honestly, that wasn’t my priority. The real reason? My absolutely horrendous posture.
Lately, I’ve caught myself slouching over my laptop like some ancient scholar deciphering a scroll—shoulders hunched, back curled, neck at a weird angle. Basically, I was one bad work session away from fully resembling a pretzel. It was either fix my setup or start accepting my fate as a permanently hunched-over being. So, a new keyboard it was!
I went with one from Miniso, and let me tell you, it’s such a game-changer. The keys are super satisfying to type on—like, that perfect soft click that makes typing weirdly enjoyable. And the best part? No annoying cables or constant charging! It runs on batteries, which (if I remember correctly) should last up to a year. One less thing to worry about in my already chaotic life.
Now, I can finally type without my back screaming in protest. My setup feels so much more comfortable, and honestly, I already feel way more productive. Maybe this is the secret to getting my life together—who knew all it took was a good keyboard?
Oh, and if you’re curious about how my new setup looks (or just want to see more snippets of my daily life), I post a lot of random moments on Instagram—pics, reels, the occasional aesthetic desk shot when I remember. So, keep an eye out over there!
For now, I’m off to enjoy my new, posture-friendly typing experience. My back? Grateful. My fingers? Thriving. My tendency to impulsively buy random but practical things? Still undefeated.

I Did Nothing All Day

Well, except for binge-watching a ton of K-dramas that I’ve been putting off for weeks.
The luxury of doing absolutely nothing feels like a reward after spending an entire week running around, being everywhere and anywhere.
I made a promise to myself that at least once a week, I would stay at home and avoid going out—simply because I hate it. Or rather, I love the comfort of my home. Of course, it does get boring sometimes, which is why, during the week, I squeeze in moments to go café-hopping to study, meticulously plan my hours, take a walk along the boulevard, or visit the park after class. I need that time to decompress and let my mind breathe.
Speaking of the park, I love sitting there with my iPad. I don’t carry physical books—mainly because of their weight. Let’s be honest, they’re heavy, and my bag is already burdened with enough stuff. So, my iPad it is. But sometimes, I do miss the feel of flipping through actual pages. The crisp sound of turning a page, the scent of a new book, the satisfaction of seeing how far you’ve read—it’s something digital reading can’t fully replicate. Maybe one day, I’ll go back to carrying at least one paperback with me, but for now, my iPad is my best companion.
Today was unexpectedly great.
The sun was out, the weather was perfect. I woke up at 8 AM, binged all the K-dramas I’ve been meaning to watch, and finally tackled all the content work I’ve been delaying for months because, well, being a student is exhausting. Some tasks just need to be prioritized.
The funny thing is, even though I spent my entire day just lounging around, I still felt productive in a way. Watching K-dramas isn’t just about entertainment for me—it’s also about storytelling, character development, and emotions. There’s something so engaging about diving into different worlds, experiencing different perspectives, and living through the highs and lows of fictional characters. And the best part? No stress, no deadlines, no expectations. Just pure escapism.
I’m not exactly proud of spending the whole day lying down, but given that I wake up early, go to university, juggle endless projects, and constantly feel drained, I think I deserved it.
Honestly, I’m not ready to go back to uni on Monday. Mentally, I need a break.
You know that feeling when you haven’t done any physically demanding work, yet you’re exhausted? Like all you did was sit through classes, stare at notes, and somehow, you’re still completely drained?
Please tell me I’m not the only one.
Next week already feels overwhelming, and I don’t even want to think about it.
I just…
Ha…
I need a vacation with a view of the mountains right now.
Or maybe a cozy cabin in the woods, where I can wrap myself in a warm blanket, sip on hot cocoa, and just exist in peace. No responsibilities, no noise, no obligations. Just me, nature, and the quiet hum of a world that isn’t rushing me to keep up. That sounds like a dream right now.
Anyway, I hope you had a productive week. And if you’re a student like me, I see you. We’re all tired. We all feel like giving up sometimes. But whatever your dreams may be, a degree is still important. I don’t care what billionaires say about degrees being useless—sure, you might find a career path unrelated to your studies, but having that degree gives you something to fall back on.
It’s not necessarily an “advantage,” but it’s a safety net. And in this world, sometimes, that’s enough.
Even though I complain a lot about school, I do recognize that education is a privilege. Not everyone gets the opportunity to learn, to pursue a career, or to have choices about their future. It’s easy to forget that when you’re drowning in assignments, but I try to remind myself that this temporary exhaustion is leading somewhere. Somewhere that, hopefully, will be worth it in the end.
So if you’re struggling too, just know you’re not alone. We’re all in this together, and one day, we’ll look back at this phase of our lives and be proud of how far we’ve come.
Get my point?
Have a wonderful day, friends! And if you’re feeling exhausted like me, take a break—you deserve it.

It’s the Things at Home
There’s a reason I love staying at home. A reason why, despite what others might think, my life is never boring.
People—especially my classmates—often ask why I don’t go out more. But that’s not really true. I do go out. I love spending time with my friends, walking through the city, studying in cafés when my eyes need a break from the familiar walls I grew up with.
But no matter where I go, I always come back home. And there’s something about it that makes me feel whole.
Maybe it’s my desk?
It’s not just a piece of furniture. It’s where I spend most of my time, where I work, where I let my thoughts spill out onto paper. My desk holds little pieces of me—scattered notes, half-filled journals, pens I’ve absentmindedly clicked while deep in thought. It’s where my ideas take shape, where my creativity feels the freest. Even now, as I write this monologue, I sit at my desk, letting my thoughts wander.

Just the Konbini Things
(A Monologue)
You ever step into a konbini at 2 AM and feel like you've walked into a parallel universe? The hum of the refrigerators, the soft jingle of the automatic doors, the faint scent of fried chicken and fresh melon pan... It’s like a liminal space where time doesn’t exist.
I mean, where else can you buy a single hard-boiled egg, three different kinds of onigiri, a face mask infused with the tears of cherry blossoms, AND pay your rent all at once?
It’s a haven for the weary salaryman clutching his canned coffee like a lifeline, the student debating between instant ramen flavors like it’s a life-altering decision, and the tourist discovering that, yes, the egg sandwiches really are that good.
And the staff? Oh, they are the unsung heroes of the night. The silent guardians of the cash register, scanning your midnight impulse buys without an ounce of judgment. A tub of ice cream, a copy of Shonen Jump, and a single can of beer? They nod, as if to say, I get it. Life is tough.
The konbini is a sacred space. A place where you can contemplate your existence under the fluorescent glow of the instant noodle aisle. A place where an 800-yen bento can somehow taste like a home-cooked meal when you’re sitting alone in your tiny apartment.
It’s the little things, really. The perfectly chilled drinks, the seasonal Kit-Kats, the way the cashier places your chopsticks just right so your food doesn’t spill in the bag.
Just the konbini things.
A love letter to the ordinary. A tiny, neon-lit universe where life’s small comforts are always in stock.

A Funny Thing About Missing Out

Quite ironically, I don't mind missing out on the things that some of my peers think they need to experience before growing up.
That, for me, goes both ways. Having a great relationship with your family and your friends at school—those are invaluable because they teach you how to navigate relationships, build trust, and understand the importance of community. Those experiences shape you, helping you learn how to maintain meaningful connections. On the other hand, there’s the idea that growing up means going to every party, drinking until you can’t remember anything, or chasing after reckless experiences just for the sake of saying you did. I don’t think those things are necessary, and honestly, I encourage people to reflect on whether they truly enjoy them or just feel pressured to take part.
But my perspective on missing out isn’t just about avoiding wild nights. It’s about something more personal—moments with friends, family, or even small social gatherings that I genuinely want to be part of but sometimes feel too exhausted to attend. Missing out isn’t always about disinterest; sometimes, it’s about self-preservation. There’s a kind of tiredness that isn’t just physical but mental, the type that lingers even after a full night’s sleep. When that exhaustion sets in, the idea of socializing—even in enjoyable situations—can feel overwhelming.

Recently, my aunt from choir had her birthday party, and I couldn’t go. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I needed a break from the constant demands of school. The academic pressure had drained me to the point where I wasn’t even able to study after classes—I would come home and immediately fall asleep. I knew that if I forced myself to attend, I’d be running on empty, and instead of being present in the moment, I’d just be waiting for the night to end so I could finally rest.
In that moment, I had a small debate with myself. If I went, the food would be amazing—I was seriously craving a good pasta dish. But if I forced myself to go, I’d be stretching myself too thin, giving up the little bit of peace I had left just to avoid the feeling of missing out. It wasn’t an easy decision because I value time with loved ones, and I don’t take those moments for granted. But at the same time, I knew that constantly showing up while running on empty wasn’t sustainable.
There’s this societal expectation that we should always be available, always say yes to experiences, and always push through exhaustion for the sake of memories. And while making memories is important, so is knowing when to step back. Sometimes, missing out isn’t a sign of laziness or disinterest—it’s an act of self-care. It’s recognizing that rest is just as valuable as social experiences, and that not every opportunity is worth sacrificing your well-being for. Learning to be at peace with missing out is a skill in itself, one that helps us prioritize what truly matters.
So yes, I chose to stay home. And yes, I did think about the food—please don’t judge.

A Quick Chat From My Desk: Part Two

This is quite absurd—to think that about forty minutes from now, I’m supposed to be studying for four hours, yet here I am, writing a blog instead. Because why not? I feel like it. I want to write about what I’m feeling, about the things swirling around in my mind. And that is the—actually, I don’t even know.
Normally, when I sit down to write a blog or an essay, I have a solid idea in mind. It’s usually a literary commentary, or maybe I’ve had one of those Newton moments—an apple metaphorically bonks me on the head, and suddenly, I have something insightful to say. Some epiphany. Some sudden spark of inspiration that makes me go, Oh, I need to write about this. But right now? I just want to talk.
It feels like ages since I last posted consistently. Exam week is coming up, and since I’m graduating in 2025, my life has been consumed by entrance exams, college applications, and an existential crisis or two. No big deal. Honestly, I regret overworking myself from Year 8 to Year 11 because now, in Year 12, I feel like I’ve hit a wall. Like I’m stuck in a hamster wheel, running and running but not getting anywhere. And the irony? I do have a goal. I know what I want. The road ahead is clear, but I feel so drained, so foggy, like I’m walking through a thick cloud that keeps me from seeing where I’m actually going.
Oops! This part of the blog is for my lovely supporters only. If you want to read the rest (and maybe hear me spiral even more about exams, life, and everything in between), consider supporting me on Patreon! Trust me, it gets interesting. 😉✨

The Farce of Minor Subjects: An Academic Rant NO ONE ASKED For

Let’s not mince words: I despise Minor Subjects. They are the academic equivalent of filler episodes—unnecessary, time-consuming, and questionably relevant to the plot. They claim to serve a purpose, yet more often than not, they simply exist as hurdles on the way to specialization.
It’s not that I resent learning outside my field. Quite the contrary—I love expanding my knowledge. But there is a difference between intellectual curiosity and academic obligation. The former is driven by passion, the latter by bureaucracy. The university claims that Minor Subjects are essential for producing well-rounded individuals, but what they really produce are exhausted students spread too thin across disciplines they never intended to study.
What Are Minor Subjects?
To understand the frustration, we need to dissect the academic system itself.
University curricula are typically divided into:
Major Subjects – These are the backbone of your degree, the reason you enrolled in your course in the first place. They sculpt your expertise and define your future career. If education were a meal, these would be the main course—rich, substantial, and fulfilling.
Minor Subjects – These are additional courses outside your field of study, supposedly designed to broaden your knowledge and skills. However, in practice, they often feel more like appetizers you never ordered but are forced to consume.
In theory, this structure is meant to cultivate interdisciplinary awareness, but in reality, it often results in a dilution of expertise rather than an enhancement of knowledge.
Minor Subjects vs. Major Subjects
The biggest frustration with Minor Subjects is not their existence but their impact on academic priorities.
Major Subjects challenge you to refine your skills, push your intellectual boundaries, and develop real-world expertise. They are difficult, yes, but they have a clear purpose. Every struggle in a Major Subject feels like an investment—a necessary step toward becoming proficient in your field.
Minor Subjects, on the other hand, often feel like academic detours. You’re expected to devote significant time and effort to a subject that, at best, offers mild enrichment and, at worst, drains energy that could have been spent mastering your core discipline.
The supposed balance between Major and Minor Subjects is deceptive. In many cases, Minor Subjects demand an equal (if not greater) workload than Major Subjects. This disrupts the natural order of academic focus—forcing students to allocate mental resources to subjects that contribute little to their long-term goals.
How Minor Subjects Help
To be fair, there are arguments in favor of Minor Subjects:
They enhance general knowledge, helping students develop skills that may prove useful in unexpected ways.
They offer a mental break from intensive Major Subjects, providing variety in coursework.
They can boost GPAs if they are graded more leniently than Major Subjects.
But while these points sound compelling on paper, their real-world impact is debatable. Minor Subjects may offer some advantages, but they do not justify the disproportionate burden they place on students.
How Minor Subjects Are Pulling Students Down
The reality is that Minor Subjects often do more harm than good. Here’s why:
They Disrupt Academic Priorities University should be about mastering a chosen discipline. Instead, students are forced to divert their focus to subjects they never intended to study, slowing down their progression in their actual field.
They Waste Valuable Time Learning takes time and energy—both of which are finite resources. The hours spent preparing for a Minor Subject exam could be better used to refine a Major Subject skill or gain practical experience.
They Contribute to Burnout Students are already balancing intense coursework, deadlines, and (for many) part-time jobs. Minor Subjects add extra layers of stress without offering proportionate value in return.
They Create a False Sense of “Well-Roundedness” The idea that sitting through a single semester of an unrelated subject makes someone a well-rounded individual is laughable. True interdisciplinary expertise comes from genuine engagement, not mandatory credit requirements.
Why Minor Subjects Are a Burden
The burden of Minor Subjects lies not just in their workload but in their misalignment with student goals. They operate under the assumption that all students need exposure to a variety of disciplines, ignoring the reality that not all knowledge is equally relevant to all career paths.
Consider this: A future engineer is required to take art appreciation, while a literature major must complete a semester of statistics. While there is an argument that exposure to different fields can be beneficial, the manner in which universities enforce this exposure is flawed. These subjects are not taught in ways that integrate with a student’s primary discipline—instead, they exist as isolated, mandatory obstacles.
Wouldn’t it be more productive to allow students to choose their own interdisciplinary interests? Rather than prescribing a rigid set of Minor Subjects, universities could offer customizable elective paths, allowing students to explore related fields in ways that enhance rather than detract from their expertise.
Final Verdict
At their core, Minor Subjects embody the tension between academic tradition and practical education. Universities cling to the idea that a broad curriculum produces well-rounded graduates, but in practice, this approach often leads to frustrated students, unnecessary stress, and a diluted learning experience.
If universities truly want to enrich student education, they need to rethink the way Minor Subjects are integrated into curricula. Instead of forcing students through a rigid set of unrelated courses, they should offer flexible, interest-driven electives that allow for genuine interdisciplinary learning.
Until then, I (and countless others) will continue to endure these academic detours, questioning their necessity with every irrelevant assignment.

Huan Must've Been Grigio
youtube
I was binge-watching a YouTube channel called The Nerd of the Rings—a must-have in any Lord of the Rings fan’s arsenal—when I found myself completely absorbed in the story of Beren and Lúthien. Then came Huan, the ultimate good boy of Middle-earth. And just as I was marveling at this immortal, fate-bound, wolf-slaying hound, the host of the channel mentioned something that made me pause—a dog that doesn’t age? Hmm, where have I heard that before?
Huan is no ordinary hound. He was a gift from Oromë, the Huntsman of the Valar, to Celegorm, one of the Sons of Fëanor. Unlike any other creature of Middle-earth, Huan was granted exceptional abilities—he was an immortal hound, bound only by fate, and prophesied to speak three times before his death. A fearless warrior, he fought and defeated Sauron in wolf form and later met his end battling the monstrous Carcharoth. More than just a guardian, Huan had a will of his own, choosing to betray his master in favor of righteousness by aiding Lúthien in her quest to save Beren.
And I thought, Wouldn’t Huan take inspiration from John Bosco’s dog, Grigio?
The parallels between Huan and Grigio are intriguing. Both are supernatural hounds, both appear at crucial moments to defend the righteous, and both ultimately disappear when their duty is fulfilled. While Tolkien never explicitly mentioned Grigio as an inspiration, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to think that his Catholic upbringing and knowledge of the saints played a role in shaping Middle-earth’s greatest hound.
That said, there are also undeniable differences between Huan and Grigio. Huan is a warrior, bound by prophecy and destined for battle, while Grigio is a protector who avoids direct combat whenever possible, choosing instead to deter threats rather than confront them head-on. Huan belongs to a grand mythological narrative, woven into the fate of Elves and Men, whereas Grigio’s story is much more intimate, centered on one saint’s life. Even their roles differ—Huan actively participates in a great heroic quest, while Grigio’s appearances are brief, mysterious, and purely defensive.
So, was Huan inspired by Grigio, or do they simply belong to a long lineage of legendary guardian hounds that have existed in stories across cultures and time? Could Tolkien, consciously or unconsciously, have woven elements of his faith into his legendarium, making Huan not just another mythical beast but something deeper, more akin to the protectors found in saintly legends?
What do you think? Could Tolkien’s Huan have been inspired by Grigio, the loyal protector of St. John Bosco? Or is it just another case of myth, faith, and legend blending into Tolkien’s masterful storytelling?
Well, hello there, my friends!
Did you think this was the only thing I’ve written about the Huan? If so, let me be the first to tell you—you’re mistaken! I’ve created something even more expansive and in-depth, delving into the heart of this epic moment. From the stirring call to arms to the thunderous charge, I’ve unpacked the layers of courage, hope, and sacrifice that make this scene unforgettable.
You can find the full exploration here: ⚔️. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

You've Got Nothing To Lose
So, productivity. Yeah. Let’s talk about it.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably had that moment—you know, when your to-do list is longer than your lifespan, your tabs are multiplying like rabbits, and your brain is just ✨ refusing ✨ to cooperate. Being a full-time student and a creator means my life is basically a constant balancing act, and let me tell you… I was dropping so many balls.
I tried every planner, every system, every method that productivity YouTube threw at me, and nothing really stuck. Bullet journaling? Loved the idea, hated the effort. Google Calendar? Cute, but I forgot to check it. Sticky notes? Everywhere. Chaos. Absolute chaos.
Then I found Notion, and listen—I was skeptical. It looked overwhelming, like an empty void of endless possibilities (and not in the fun way). But once I actually took the time to figure it out? Oh, it was over for me.
Now, my entire life lives in Notion. It’s where I plan my assignments, track my creative projects, and pretend I have my life together. And because I love making things both cute and efficient, I’ve spent way too much time tweaking my setup to be as ✨ functional but aesthetic ✨ as possible.
This post is just a little peek into the things that helped me get my Notion workspace together. Nothing too deep, just some surface-level tips. I’ll get more in-depth later, but for now—here’s what made the biggest difference for me:
🌿 How I Revamped My Notion Setup: 📌 Made It Pretty – Because if I’m going to stare at it every day, it has to be cute. Matching colors, simple layouts, and an aesthetic cover image make it 10x more enjoyable to use.
📌 Created a “Homebase” – Everything I need in one place. No more digging through five different pages for my assignments, projects, and notes. My dashboard is literally my lifesaver.
📌 Kept It Simple – Look, I love a good Notion setup, but if it’s too complicated, I just won’t use it. I stick to a system that works for me: clean, minimal, and easy to navigate.
📌 Automated Whatever I Could – Linked databases? Buttons? Widgets? Yes, please. Anything that saves me even a little time is a win.
✨ Want to try it for yourself? I actually put together a Notion template based on my setup, so if you’re looking for something that’s aesthetic and functional, I got you. It’s perfect for students, creators, or anyone who wants to get their life together in a ✨ cute ✨ way.
🔗 Check it out here! → BRIE BLOSSOMS
I’m still tweaking and improving my setup all the time, so I’ll definitely share more in the future! But for now—what’s your biggest struggle with productivity? Let’s talk in the tags ⬇️ or drop your Notion questions in the replies! 💭💖

Are Teachers Supposed to Teach?

This topic has always puzzled me: teachers, the people who are supposed to inspire us, make us fall in love with learning, and show us how knowledge can shape the world. Yet, some of them seem to do the opposite. Instead of being uplifting, they criticize harshly, lack motivation, and sometimes come off as downright rude. How did we get here?
When I was younger, I saw teachers differently. They felt like superheroes, people with an unstoppable passion for their subjects and a desire to share it with everyone. You could see it in the way they spoke, the way they lit up when explaining something complex. They made you want to learn—not because you had to, but because you couldn’t help but be curious. Their energy made school feel alive.

Now, though? It feels like for many, teaching is just a job. A means to an end. And while there’s nothing wrong with needing a paycheck, something essential gets lost when teaching becomes just another task. The spark disappears. The enthusiasm wanes. And students? They feel it. The classroom becomes a place you endure instead of explore.
Here’s the thing: teaching isn’t just about showing up. It’s about inspiring. A great teacher doesn’t just hand out facts or finish the syllabus. They bring their subject to life. They show students why it matters. Without that spark, learning becomes a chore—and that’s a tragedy.

A Quick Chat from My Desk

Today, I’m sitting at my desk, watching a vlog on YouTube. I’ve been thinking about writing a short story, but it’s not really in my comfort zone. I usually stick to blogs, especially ones that feel conversational—like I’m talking directly to you. This relaxed style is a nice change from the essay-style pieces I typically write, which are much more formal and structured.
By the time you’re reading this, I’ll probably be studying for my college applications. (If you have any tips, please share them in the comments—I’d really appreciate it!) But for now, I wanted to take a moment to write about how I’m feeling after returning to school. This is more of a personal update, so it won’t be going on Patreon—you can read it here instead!
Coming back to school hasn’t been too overwhelming yet. The first few days are always a bit easier, so it’s not too mentally taxing. Physically, it’s no big deal either. In fact, I enjoy tasks that combine mental and physical effort—it’s satisfying and keeps me engaged. Sure, you’d expect to feel tired, but there’s something fulfilling about using both your mind and body in tandem.
That said, I have to admit—I’m not exactly thrilled to be back. I much prefer vacations, where everything feels lighter and freer. It might sound a little pessimistic, but my first semester was rough, and the teachers didn’t make it any easier. Honestly, I don’t even know how to explain it—it’s just one of those things that’s hard to put into words.
When it comes to studying, I’ve developed some unconventional habits to keep myself motivated. I can’t sit still and focus for hours; instead, I like to walk around with my materials, condensing and memorizing information as I move. It’s a little odd, but it makes the process more fun and engaging for me.
I’ve also realized that creating something beautiful—like moodboards—or striving for high grades can be inspiring. Those small moments of accomplishment make the effort worthwhile. If you’re here reading this, you’re more than welcome to join me on this journey.
Anyway, that’s all for now. I’ll return to my usual essay-style blogs soon, diving back into literature, philosophy, and maybe even more Lord of the Rings content. Let’s see what ideas come to mind next!
Wish me luck!
Oh, and before I forget—my friends and I managed to squeeze in a quick café trip during our break before the last subject of the day. It was a nice little escape, even if it was short. If you want to see more snippets like that or just keep up with me, feel free to check out my Instagram. No strings attached—promise!

What is 'Luxury' To You?

Luxury—a word that conjures images of grand mansions, designer clothes, and lavish vacations. But what does it truly mean? Merriam-Webster defines luxury as "the condition of abundance or great ease and comfort," and "an indulgence in something that provides pleasure, satisfaction, or ease." From its historical roots linking it to indulgence and even sin, the concept of luxury has always been about more than material wealth.
Popular culture, particularly Hollywood, reinforces a glossy version of luxury: red carpets, opulent parties, and a life of excess. Yet, is that all there is to it? Many aspire to this lifestyle, drawn by its allure, while others find luxury in far simpler joys. This leads to the question: is luxury only about grandeur, or can it be something deeply personal and meaningful?
For me, luxury is not about extravagance but authenticity. Growing up in a middle-class family with its financial challenges shaped my understanding of what abundance means.

I dream of wealth—not for indulgence but to eliminate money worries, to live freely, and to focus on what truly matters: family, nature, and a life of intentional simplicity. My vision of luxury is a modest French chateau surrounded by greenery, a home where every corner tells a story of care and love.

We live in a world driven by consumerism, where happiness is often equated with owning the latest gadgets or wearing high-end brands. But what if luxury wasn’t about owning more but about appreciating what we already have? True richness lies in moments of gratitude, mindfulness, and meaningful connections—a warm meal, a serene walk, or laughter shared with loved ones.
Luxury, then, is not a singular idea but a deeply personal journey. So, what is luxury to you? Let’s explore this on my Patreon ⬇️ together.
🙍♀️Kiki has the open door.

Why The Ride of the Rohirrim Makes You Cry.
youtube
The charge of the Rohirrim is one of the most breathtaking and emotional moments in The Lord of the Rings. As the sun rises over the Pelennor Fields, Theoden rallies his Riders with a speech that reverberates with courage and finality: “Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!” (The Return of the King, Book V, Chapter 5). These words, an anthem of defiance, set the stage for what is both a glorious triumph and a harrowing sacrifice.
And then, the cry of “Death!” rings out—a single word that chills the blood and ignites the spirit. In Tolkien’s world, death is both a burden and a gift for Men, a stark contrast to the immortality of Elves. Here, the Riders embrace their mortality, turning their acceptance of this truth into a weapon of unmatched power. It’s not a cry of despair but one of fierce defiance, shaking even the hearts of their enemies.
youtube
Among them rides Dernhelm, who hides a secret that will alter the tide of battle. Eowyn, defying her uncle’s wishes and societal expectations, takes her place on the front lines. As the Riders thunder forward, Tolkien’s prose paints her as a figure of determination, poised for the fight of her life. What fate awaits her, and what price will be paid for her courage?
The charge itself is almost mythic in its description, a clash of light and darkness. Theoden rides like a figure of legend, transformed in his final moments. But victory does not come without cost. The battlefield becomes a place of heartbreak, where bravery and grief stand side by side. Theoden’s death and Eomer’s discovery of Eowyn, stricken and pale, deliver emotional blows that resonate long after the battle is won.
This scene, as brought to life in both Tolkien’s prose and Peter Jackson’s adaptation, is a masterful exploration of humanity’s resilience, the weight of sacrifice, and the enduring hope found in unity. Every time I revisit it, I find myself trembling with awe, moved to tears by the beauty and sorrow intertwined in this moment.
Well, hello there, my friends!
