Honestly, not gonna lie, the first time you walk into the manor everyone is going to be kinda done with the punk attire

Tim especially is mentally like "oh great another alt sibling that's going to emotionally berate me"

But don't get me wrong, they all keep an open mind and are nice to you

Well, some are nicer than others

Dick, Steph, and Jason are more outgoing and immediately welcoming than the others

Jason just really admires your leather jacket tho tbh

Damian is already Fed Up™ with your extra attirée but per his father's request he's cordial with you though keeps his distance

Duke is about the most normal person in the house and he treats you normally

Though he's most hurt about your apparent hatred of him (besides dick that is but dick is dramatic about nearly everything)

But... The night they find you up in the kitchen changes everything...

You decided not to join in the extra curricular activities the rest of the family participates in at night. The idea of fighting crime gave you a bit of anxiety and not to mention you didn't have an inkling of proper training beyond punching a few bully's noses in. So, you found yourself alone in the ridiculously large manor, Alfred being downstairs aiding at the batcomputer. It was obvious the family was apprehensive about you and it twisted your insides knowing you came off as abrasive and unapproachable. Though granted, the rest of the family did too, but not to each other.

In your short time at the manor you observed how easy it was for them to talk with each other, to joke around and play fight. More than anything you wanted to join in but everytime you spoke your words and actions just came out wrong, making you sound angry rather than playful. To make up for the confused ill will you decided to make your new family a sort of offering.

The Wayne Manor kitchen was larger than anything you were accustomed to, but that just made it all the more fun! Your baker's heart was in absolute heaven at the sight of the four ovens and stand mixer. This was going to be a blast. And so, you set about making various treats, your music playlist bumping in the background, adding the perfect soundtrack to your escapades.

An hour later and you had a perfect batch of muffins and tray of chocolate chip cookies setting on the counter. That was just the beginning too as you slid the banana bread and second batch of cookies into an oven each. After reassuring yourself that it was definitely enough food, you set about cleaning up the kitchen a bit.

"What the- Oh, (Y/N), it's you," Jason's voice boomed through the kitchen, his first words worrying that he was readying to attack an intruder.

A few of the siblings trailed into the kitchen after him, Dick taking a moment to inhale deeply, "Mmmm, oh my god that smells good. I didn't know you bake!"

"You never asked," you replied flatly before mentally cursing yourself you were supposed to be nicer, "I uh, I made this stuff for you guys."

"Tch, for us? Why?" Damian scoffed and planted himself on a barstool behind the marble island.

You took the dish towel off the blueberry muffins and moved them onto a plate, "To thank you. I appreciate you accepting me into the family. And I wanted to show that..."

Behind you, Duke gently approached you and held his arms open for a hug, which you accepted happily, "(Y/N)! You didn't need to thank us! We're just happy you're here!"

"Shut up Duke! Holy fucking shit. You can bake as appreciation any time you want this is literally like god tier," Steph proclaimed as she savored the warm muffin in her mouth and you almost thought you saw tears in her eyes.

The rest of your new siblings looked quizzically at the blonde and caved, each reaching for one of your goodies. As they tasted the creations you got an overwhelming amount of praise. Once again reminding you why you immediately loved this family. And as you watched them simultaneously scarf and savor your treats you knew just the way into their hearts: their stomachs! Though, unbeknownst to you, you had no baking to do, already firmly planted on the list of people they cared about, despite your short time spent with them.

So when you're laying next to him sounding like an airplane about to take off he's already worried

Add in those moments where you take in a big breath and just stop breathing and his anxiety goes through the roof

He'd be quick to suggest a sleep study test to possibly get a CPAP machine

Bruce is well versed enough in medicine to know sleep apnea has so many more affects on a person than just stopping breathing

The kids aren't going to be as affected by your sleep apnea but they still hear your snoring

And whenever you take naps on the couch they damn near have heart attacks

Jason and Damian especially get nervous, the sound of you not breathing nearly sends them into anxiety attacks (because it directly leads them into thinking that you're maybe died yk)

Dick and Duke are the ones with remedies to help you in the meantime

Try sleeping with your head propped up!

Vapor rub under your nostrils!

Squeeze a lemon under the blood red moon!

They would literally suggest any and every home remedy they see on the internet

Cass stays up whenever Bruce is out on patrol, just sitting next to you sleeping, only to make sure that you continue breathing

If you have a mild case it wouldn't be as bad(sleep apnea is still bad!)

But if your case is more severe it's going to raise anxiety levels all over the house

So, please listen to their suggestions of a sleep study

Trust me, Bruce would definitely make sure you have your test at the best facility! Or maybe even right at the manor!

this disorder sucks in general(as most do) but in the Wayne Manor it would especially suck

mainly because there’s always a lot going on and therefore a lot of background noises

and the same goes for galas and events you’d attend with Bruce

how the family reacts is mainly up to you

if you want to try hearing aids Bruce is more than willing to pay for top of the line ones

or if you use sign language he’d encourage any of the batfamily who doesn’t already know ASL to enroll in classes

and they all do

they’re very considerate and don’t want you to feel out of the loop

so most of the time, even if you’re not in the conversation you can find any assortment of the kids signing as well as talking

they also make it a point to try and reduce background noise as much as possible when they have control over it

but at galas and events where they can’t control the background noise are a bit harder but the batfamily truly tries their best to adapt every situation to where you’re as capable as every fully hearing person

so Bruce would stick by your side religiously so he could sign for you

and if he has to leave you for Batman business or such, Dick or even Cass would slip in to take his place and communicate

entitled people can try to insult you but that’s as far as they’re going to get or so help them

if you get overloaded or overworked from concentrating too hard on trying to figure out what people are saying all you have to is give one of them a signal and they’d make up perfect excuses to get you out of the situation and go and sit down for a while

Damian be ultra protective of his mom so good luck dating her

but then he sees how happy you make his mom and boy is he soft

then when she announces your engagement it makes him realize how serious you two are about each other

and he warms up to you pretty quickly

if you ask him to be in the wedding he’d get a lil emotional, especially if Talia asks him to be the one to walk her down the aisle

sure, he may still be young but he takes that job very seriously

he’s still unsure of what to call you (such as your name, step-mom, just mom, etc)

after a year or two of you and Talia being married he resigns to calling you Mom meanwhile Talia is Mother

the first time he does that he’s rather shy and sheepish about it but when you get excited that he called you Mom it reassures him and that’s what he refers to you as from then on

he’s very conflicted whether he wants to live with Bruce or Talia, and he’s even more conflicted once you come along

even dividing the year in half is conflicting to him

mainly because he rationalizes, “sure I spend the first half with mother, but then I’m not there for father’s birthday, but if I spend the first half with father then I’m not there for [insert event].”

having you as a stepmom gives Damian a chance to have a parental figure who’s not out fighting crime or keeping up some family honor

and it also lets him be more of a typical kid because there’s no pressure

so he makes you art projects in class and he’s not afraid to give them to you, knowing you’ll appreciate his gifts no matter what

he also feels more open with talking about his problems with you

and he’s much more inclined to ask favors from you opposed to his biological parents

I’ve said this a lot before but the entire batfam is extremely protective of each other and more so when that member of the family is in a minority group

because society is shit but Gotham high society is even more shit

like i said in my plus-sized batsib post, most of the batfam would protect you on social media (because unfortunately people are smart enough to not directly say anything to you or loud enough that they can hear)

Damian is very close to you and although he isn’t black he is a poc so he feels more of a connection to you than he does with some of the others

he’s always asking you if you want to watch movies or go off on adventures with him

Meanwhile Tim makes sure you’re invited to every ball and gala

eventually all the kids flat out tell Bruce how much they love having you around and that definitely helps him realize that maybe a relationship with you wouldn’t be so bad after all

then one day it’s Bruce who invites you over for what was supposed to be a private dinner, but the batkids got wind of it and promptly invited themselves too

if this was going to be the night he asks you out then they all wanted to be there

but even though he shares both his lives with the batkids, he’s still a man who enjoys privacy and invites you for a walk through the garden maze with him

it’s there that he talks about how much you mean to him and how thankful he is that you’ve always been by his side and he wants you by his side for the rest of his life

he even says point blank he would propose right then and there, but maybe it’d be better to just start out with a relationship

it’s at that point that it’s obvious Duke was watching them with his advanced vision and most likely reading each of your lips

because after you said yes to dating him, an eruption of cheers came from the manor

That being said she has and somewhat still struggles with accepting her sexuality

She knows she loves you but at the same time she's paranoid that people around her are constantly judging you

Silently she would really appreciate it if you helped her meet more lgbt+ folks or even join an lgbt+ group!

She really needs a space where she can be herself and see that other people are just like her!

Once she joins a group like that she'd be very active in it and wholly dedicate herself to doing work to further the cause of lgbt+ folks

Most of the batfam is unfamiliar with witchcraft, assuming the stereotypes that are most known

For example, Dick hears witchcraft and immediately thinks about Hocus Pocus, it's just word association really

So when Dick finds out you practice witchcraft he nonetheless has those stereotypes in his head and is leery about the situation

He just sees it as the negative thing the media has made it out to be so he tries to avoid your alters and crystals just in case

But he's vocal about his emotions so he eventually tells you his concerns and he listens intently as you explain to him what witchcraft really is

Out of all of the batfam he's the one who encourages you the most

Bruce, Babs, and Damian are all familiar with modern witchcraft so they don't react negatively at all! They support you and respect your choices!

Jason doesn't give a shit either way, but he does think it's cool and badass

9/10 times makes a smart joke about you doing witchcraft, nothing offensive just light teasing really

Tim is most skeptical about it because he didn't even know witchcraft was an actual thing

He's lowkey afraid you're going to curse him but that's just because he's afraid of what he doesn't know

But he's not an asshole so he doesn't mind you practicing it

Eventually he either does his own research or just gets annoyed and asks you what witchcraft is all about

Steph and Cass kinda scrunch their noses when you first tell them but then they consider it a bit

And they think it's so cool

Cass asks you about crystals and she definitely wants to get into them herself
