I need you to understand and to really listen when I tell you that the land knows you.
If you have spent months, years, decades living in the same place and exploring the same land I can promise you that the trees, the plants, the lakes and rivers, and the spirits will know and remember you.
You can call out to them and they will call out to you because they know you - they have for so so long, my love, and they love you, so much.
Trust me.

the gods understand your disabilities, mental health, and neurodiversities.
they understand if your physical disabilities, mental or physical, prevent you from being able to go outside.
they understand you even when you cannot articulate what you mean during prayer or cannot find the words to express gratitude and love.
they understand if you can't spend much time or stand still at their altars.
they understand if executive dysfunction keeps you from making offerings or doing a lot of active practice.
they understand if you have to take breaks and hiatuses from practicing to focus on yourself and your mental or physical health.
they understand if you lose focus during meditation/trance work or cannot do it to begin with.
they understand you and are with you when you cannot get out of bed for mental or physical reasons.
they understand you and are with you during times when you cannot care for yourself or love yourself.
the gods will always understand, love, and accept us for who we are. we are all valid, and we are seen and heard by the gods, even when it feels as if we are alone. 💙

I find the ‘fruits in witchcraft’ posts very helpful, but I haven’t seen any about more foods, like meat, vegetables, desserts, etc. and drinks. So, here’s a guide to edible things in witchcraft. I don’t necessarily enjoy the concept of correspondence lists (see why here), but I thought some basic ones would help others to explore the uses of these things in their practice further.

conjure tip: dress up when you leave the house
ever heard the saying when you look good, you feel good; when you you feel good, you do good? this applies in the realm of magic + conjuring too because we are working with energy — our own energy. when we do good, we are operating in our God frequency which is a creative force that allows us to materialize our desires into physical reality. think of it as seducing the Universe with your hotness, persuading the Universe to give you whatever you look because you look that damn good ;)

Starting Charm Casting
Charm casting, aka curio casting, is the divination practice of tossing small objects into a defined area and diving meaning from where and how they land. Like most self-directed systems, it can be a little wild getting started. Here's how you can get going quickly and then build up and out.
To start, collect some charm objects, 3-10 is a great beginning range.
Assign each charm one meaning to start.
Make your reading area somewhat contained so the charms don't fly.
Then assign your reading area 2-4 spaces.
Start there. The charms always mean one thing, and they always mean it in relation to where they land.
So if you have a shoe that means travel, and your two areas are yes/no, then that's very simple and easy to be getting on with.
Getting Advanced
Complexity comes from more charms, more areas, different orientations of the charms altering meaning, and relating the charms within areas to each other. Just build up til you find your happy place. Some ideas for increasing complexity:
Casting charms repeatedly to test landing orientations, then interpreting the charm's meaning depending on how it lands, like a reversed tarot card.
Choosing a selection of charms for each reading, either with a set number or casting one for each position, like a Tarot spread.
Tarot suit meanings for areas in a center quad box with yes/no endzones on either side.
Assigning unique personas (gods, monsters, devils, pop, ancestors) to charms, allowing you to interpet them as having a conversation with the other charms, or use their charm for spirit messages from the.
Assigning entirely different meanings to one charm in different orientations.
Hope this helps someone!

Digital Detox Shaina Tranquilino August 20, 2024
Evan had always been plugged in. A software engineer by trade and a tech enthusiast by nature, he spent his days coding complex algorithms and his nights surrounded by screens—one for gaming, another for streaming, and a third for monitoring the latest cryptocurrency trends. His smartphone was his constant companion, a lifeline to the digital world where he thrived. Notifications pinged incessantly, each one demanding a slice of his attention.
But lately, something had shifted. Evan found himself restless and irritable, his mind never quiet. The world around him, once so vibrant in pixels, had started to feel hollow. He couldn’t remember the last time he had a face-to-face conversation without checking his phone, or the last time he sat in silence without feeling the need to fill it with noise. So, when a colleague mentioned a digital detox retreat nestled in the mountains, Evan signed up on a whim.
The retreat was a stark contrast to Evan’s life in the city. No Wi-Fi, no cell service, and certainly no screens. Instead, there were endless forests, star-filled skies, and a strict rule: all devices were to be surrendered at check-in. Evan felt a pang of anxiety as he handed over his phone, but it was accompanied by an unexpected sense of relief.
The first day was difficult. Without the constant buzz of notifications, Evan felt adrift, his thoughts chaotic and loud. But as the hours passed, something began to change. He started noticing the things he had been too busy to see—the rustling of leaves in the wind, the rich scent of pine, the warmth of the sun on his skin. Conversations with fellow retreat-goers were slow and meaningful, unhurried by the pressure to respond to the next message or email. For the first time in years, Evan slept without the glow of a screen beside him, and when he woke up, he felt truly rested.
By the end of the retreat, Evan had found a peace he hadn’t realized he was missing. The constant need to be connected, to be always doing something, had given way to a quieter, more contemplative state of mind. As he packed his bags, he knew he couldn’t go back to the life he had been living.
When Evan returned to the city, everything felt different. The towering skyscrapers and neon lights seemed overwhelming, but not in the way they used to excite him. He felt a pull toward simplicity, a yearning for the peace he had found in the mountains. Slowly, he began to make changes. He turned off his notifications, limiting his screen time to essential tasks. Weekends became reserved for nature walks and reading physical books, activities that grounded him in the present moment.
He also started spending more time with people—really being with them, not just sharing space while distracted by screens. He reconnected with old friends and even joined a local gardening club, something he never would have considered before the retreat. The digital world, once his entire universe, was now just a small part of a much larger, more fulfilling life.
Evan’s colleagues noticed the change. He was calmer, more focused, and somehow more content. When they asked what had happened, he simply smiled and told them about the retreat, about the quiet joy he had found in disconnecting. Some of them laughed, calling it a phase, but Evan knew better.
His life was no longer dictated by the relentless pace of technology. He had found a balance, a way to integrate his love for tech with the simple pleasures of living. For the first time in a long time, Evan felt truly alive. The world was vibrant again, not just in pixels, but in every breath, every moment, every connection made face-to-face.

Introduction to Shielding
If you haven’t already, check out my lessons on visualisation for the basic knowledge you’ll need to begin practicing shielding.
So what is shielding?
Shielding is a manipulation of energy, used to create a barrier between yourself and unwanted, usually negative or malicious energies. It’s a basic aspect of spellwork that everyone, beginner or experienced, should use to keep themselves safe.
What can I use shielding for?
Some beginner-level uses for shielding are drawing a circle, or casting a spell. A more experienced individual might use shielding in astral travel or spirit work, where there are a lot more malicious energies involved. Personally, I use shielding as often as possible, for instance when I do tarot readings, spells, spirit work, shadow work, and especially cursing. It gives that extra guarantee that you won't flood your personal space with unwanted energies.
Other uses include shielding against real-life dangers, to a certain degree. I often shield when I am walking through town at night for extra protection. But please remember to take other measures too! Call someone, pretend to be on the phone, plan your route, and even carry pepper spray if it's legal where you are.
An easy shielding method:
The easiest way to explain this is to think of your energy as a physical manifestation. Think how power attacks are shown in anime or cartoons - a streak of colour or light, or an element. Make it personable to you: fire signs (Leo/Aries/Sagittarius) might visualise fire, or a red energy or light etc.
Firstly, some people prefer to cleanse before shielding. I don't think its all that necessary but the choice is yours.
Begin by easing yourself into meditation. Get comfortable, and use whichever technique works for you. I have various methods for this in my visualisation lessons if you are struggling.
Attempt to visualise the energies surrounding you in your mind. It might be a swirling colour of light, almost like a cloud of dust. It could be flames, it could be water. Maybe try to see it held within your hand.
Now, attempt to shape this energy around your entire body. You might want to start with a bubble or a cube surrounding you. Feel this shape surrounding and protecting you. Visualise negative and unwanted energies being held back by it.
You can also layer shields, so if you are working with a particularly malicious energy you might want to have multiple shapes surrounding you, all within each other. You can also work with deities or spirits to ask them to shield you too.
Shielding Incantation
When I am shielding, I recite a spell as well as using visualisation techniques.
The shield of protection, I carry it strong, No ill wishes or trouble shall come along, You cannot harm me, or weaken my soul, My light is my weapon, and peace is my goal.
Try it out for yourself and let me know in the comments how it went! Thank you as always for reading. Please message for requests.

Hasta - The Golden Hand
Degrees: 10°00 Virgo to 23°20 Virgo Deities: Savita, God of the sunrays. Vimshottari Lord: Moon Sounds: पू pu, ष sha, ण na, ठ tha The core meaning: the hand is Hasta's symbol. Thus, as a Hasta native, you are endowed with skills, intelligence, and dexterity. Hands can speak too: your emotions combined with your rational mind can make you witty and charming. But hands can also squeeze: you need to control your environment and people. This fear of losing control can lead you into stealing and manipulating just like what a hand can do. But it can also lead you to overthinking and you get scattered. Savita, the first rays of the Sun, is the key: find your inspiration, give your heart to it and you will shine brightly. Qualities: hard-working, intelligent, friendly, quiet, analytical, expert, sense of humor, skilled orator/writer. Affliction: possessive, smothering, suspicious, overcritical, anxious, self-effacing or strong ego, cynical. Interest in healing, cooking, art, palmistry, technical skills.

The Wheel of the Year
The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of seasonal festivals, observed by many modern Pagans. It consists of either four or eight festivals: either the solstices and equinoxes, known as the “quarter days”, or the four midpoints between, known as the “cross quarter days”.
The festivals celebrated by differing sects of modern Paganism can vary considerably in name and date. Observing the cycle of the seasons has been important to many people, both ancient and modern, and many contemporary Pagan festivals are based to varying degrees on folk traditions.
In many traditions of modern Pagan cosmology, all things are considered to be cyclical, with time as a perpetual cycle of growth and retreat tied to the Sun’s annual death and rebirth.
Yule/Winter Solstice: a festival observed by the historical Germanic peoples, later undergoing Christian reformulation resulting in the now better-known Christmastide. A celebration the beginning of longer days, as this is the shortest day of the year in terms of sunlight.
Imbolc: the first cross-quarter day following Midwinter this day falls on the first of February and traditionally marks the first stirrings of spring. It is time for purification and spring cleaning in anticipation of the year’s new life. For Celtic pagans, the festival is dedicated to the goddess Brigid, daughter of The Dagda and one of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
Among witches reclaiming tradition, this is the time for pledges and dedications for the coming year. Ostara/Spring Equinox: from this point on, days are longer than the nights. Many mythologies, regard this as the time of rebirth or return for vegetation gods and celebrate the spring equinox as a time of great fertility.
Germanic pagans dedicate the holiday to their fertility goddess, Ostara. She is notably associated with the symbols of the hare and egg. Her Teutonic name may be etymological ancestor of the words east and Easter. Beltrane: traditionally the first day of summer in Ireland, in Rome the earliest celebrations appeared in pre-Christian times with the festival of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers, and the Walpurgis Night celebrations of the Germanic countries.
Since the Christianization of Europe, a more secular version of the festival has continued in Europe and America. In this form, it is well known for maypole dancing and the crowning of the Queen of the May.
Litha/Summer Solstice: one of the four solar holidays, and is considered the turning point at which summer reaches its height and the sun shines longest.
Luchnassad/Lammas: It is marked the holiday by baking a figure of the god in bread and eating it, to symbolize the sanctity and importance of the harvest. Celebrations vary, as not all Pagans are Wiccans.
The name Lammas (contraction of loaf mass) implies it is an agrarian-based festival and feast of thanksgiving for grain and bread, which symbolizes the first fruits of the harvest. Christian festivals may incorporate elements from the Pagan Ritual.
Mabon/Autumn Equinox: a Pagan ritual of thanksgiving for the fruits of the earth and a recognition of the need to share them to secure the blessings of the Goddess and the God during the coming winter months. The name Mabon was coined by Aidan Kelly around 1970 as a reference to Mabon ap Modron, a character from Welsh mythology. Among the sabbats, it is the second of the three Pagan harvest festivals, preceded by Lammas / Lughnasadh and followed by Samhain.
Samhain: considered by some as a time to celebrate the lives of those who have passed on, and it often involves paying respect to ancestors, family members, elders of the faith, friends, pets, and other loved ones who have died. In some rituals the spirits of the departed are invited to attend the festivities. It is seen as a festival of darkness, which is balanced at the opposite point of the wheel by the festival of Beltane, which is celebrated as a festival of light and fertility.
