When there is a storm, I hope you are this boat who is the light in the darkness, fighting the difficulties that arise and are in your way. As the boat travels up and down the waves of the tumultuous and vast ocean, it takes on the unknown feat of dangers ahead. However, the boat keeps going through the unrelenting rain and rough current of the waters surrounding the boat. All of these troubles represent life's unpredictable patterns and it is up to you to make the best of it in order to see the sun the next morning and get to the destination of land safely. Land is the goal. It keeps you grounded as your beacon of light travels across the sea. I hope you have the hope and grace of this captain. Life will never be easy. But if you don't give up, you might spot a fish you have never seen before the next day; because life surprises us. The unexpected storm was the first surprise, but who knows what life will bring us the next day? Just because life has difficult surprises, it doesn't mean there will never be beautiful ones. It all comes down to fighting and persevering. Have that fight in you. Because life will fight for us in return. And maybe...just maybe....we will see that special fish jump out from those same waters. Those same waters that were previously giving us so much hardship; but now they are ever so calm, providing you a reward to see that rare, special fish that now jumps out of the water with a backdrop of a beautiful sunrise. This provides a sight and gratitude among the vibrant sky of peace.

We go through so much in life, but take one day at a time. If you overwhelm yourself with all of your hardships, you're not only doing a disservice to yourself, but you're doing a disservice to the soul. Be kind to yourself and be grateful for little joys that bring a smile to your face. Remember...this too shall pass. Why crowd the mind with negative thoughts when there is room for the positive? On the other hand... Your best looks different every day; there's no need to set unrealistic expectations or trying to be "perfect". It's ok to cry. But it's also ok to be happy. Life has its ups and downs, but it's all about learning how to ride the waves.

Do I have a full on conversation with my pet bunny? Yes. Do I do the same with my cat? Absolutely. I even talk to animals that I encounter in the wild when I'm out in nature. Even though they don't speak, they do talk back to me. I hear them in my heart with how they look at me, move a certain way, make a specific noise or movement. Even their behavior can be an entire sentence. You just have to take a moment and take it all in. Because one day....we won't be here. And they will still be, doing more good than some of us will ever dream of doing in our own lives. We share a planet together, so why wouldn't they talk to us in order to communicate? They do everything they can to respect and love us. Why can't we do the same for animals? They were here first, so let's show them the love and respect that they give us everyday. It all starts with love, acceptance, and a little conversation to make it all worthwhile...

What are Elephants?: My Favorite Animal

Magic trunks, filled with character, bathe in the sun.

This is part of the reason why elephants are number one.

Their emotional cries brings me to tears,

Symbolizing wonder throughout eons and years.

Matriarchy presents intelligent persona.

Magnificent tusks add to the beauty, putting me into a coma.

Memory is unique.

My love for them is never at its peak.

The largest land mammal in size,

amazes my own eyes.

The triumph elephant's strive to inspire,

Is like music from a holy lyre.

You can tell the three species apart by their ears.

Making them special, lets give cheers

The elephant's thick skin is about good health, strength, and longevity,

Making their legacy a definite necessity.

Communicating through vibration with their trunks is neat,

But their resilience to overcome life's struggle's is an impressive feat.

Knowing this, let's work together to save them, as they have lives of their own and feelings too.

Let's love them and also give them our woo.

Around 90% of African elephants have been wiped out in the past century.

So, it's up to you to not cause elephants to be a permanent memory.
