watching my friends leave tumblr is really sad

you literally can't win

at this point the writer's strike should just be a cultural movement

like ppl are writing for FREE and you're complaining about turn out rate and shit

we have lives and some of us (HELL ALL OF US) have some form of mental illness, so we can't be fucking cogs all day and churn out fics.

writing is suppose to be therapeutic and writers want to share that with you to ease the tension of this hellscape we live in

but some of these readers and even fellow writers are taking it too far with the bullying

like its mean and nasty. you don't know what someone is going thru.

instead of asking for updates how about check and see if your writer is mentally stable to do so. that right there is a booster, to have someone say "are you okay?"

and then the whole accusations of favoring a certain member/character. if that person is my muse or safe space then of course imma write for them. most solo writers i see don't even talk bad about other people. its a SOLO account. think of it as a shrine blog of writing if that helps. they're not there to trash, just share their writing for other's who might also share the same muse.

then you have readers who can't separate fiction from reality. just because someone writes a character with irl people faceclaimed onto them doesnt mean they actually think that person would be or do those things irl. i'll be the first to say that i only gave my characters bts faces cuz thats who im attracted to and they're who i imagine would be casted to play my characters.

then IN THE YEAR OF 2023 we still have ppl making fun of their peers writing and also THE FACT THAT ENGLISH MIGHT NOT BE THEIR FIRST LANGUAGE? that's nasty asf. majority of us dont even speak 'proper' english as our first language no way. you only shooting yourself in the foot. don't act like you dont have beta readers... like what are yall on?

and anybody who gets on THAT BLOG behind anon is an opp. not just to the writing community but in how you interact with the world all together. yall don't know how to talk to people anymore? it may have started as a place for critique and accountability but no one is bringing receipts or critical thinking anymore. its mainly for drama and not rehabilitation. yall serious scare me in how we'd see the reality of social change applied to the real world. like i'd be more scared to let yall around the prisoners with minor offenses cuz yall act like its the end of the world and that change cant happen. yall give nobody room to change ignorant stances but ignore the real egregious shit because you honestly dont have the bandwidth to take on actual fascist views.

also the plagiarism has got to stop too. if you need writing resources just ask. but practice makes perfect. so you're gonna have to write yourself. you may not like your writers voice but you will feel shitty in the long run when you don't feel like its you putting those words on the paper. it literally just prolongs your inferiority. make something you're proud of and don't hurt your fellow writers. we went thru the process just like you. we earned it. and most of us aren't gatekeepers, we will help you.

like its really tuff being on here sometimes. cuz if you not being hounded by readers its your own community praying on your down fall.

IWTV S2 Ep7 Musings - Loustat: The Trial (Spoilers)

Imma split my Loustat musings into 3 parts, cuz there's A LOT to unpack. So I'll do the Ep3/4 & Ep5 revisits in the next posts; this is just general/initial Louis & Lestat stuff I wanted to respond to.

They beat the dog snot outta Louis, omg. They nearly snapped his neck! Louis was barely conscious, ofc his memory's spotty.

I LOVE how they're emphasizing the physicality of the Maker-Fledgling bond, first w/ Lou & Madz, now w/ Les. It's ofc all wrapped up in how much Loustat loves e/o, but its also their blood connection thru Amel. (I wonder how Louis Merrick'ing himself in Ep5 affects his connection to Amel if his heart didn't stop, cuz Armand stopped him from burning too much?)

And I love what Jacob said in the Insider, afterwards.

Fear that Lestat's come to exact revenge; excitement (a frisson of both negative & positive emotions, excited to see Les just cuz of the tension of having not seen him in so long, but also having all his nerves & senses tingling cuz of the tense anticipation & not knowing what to expect--hence: fear); fury cuz this whole mess could've been avoided if Les had told them WHY European vampires should be avoided at all costs; and relief cuz Les's' alive, his husband's ok.

But this time Lou KNOWS he's the real deal, cuz he can FEEL it--"it wasn't NOT his hand." And Dream!Stat jumpscare in Dubai, well well well; I thought Lou'd stopped seeing him on that Parisian bench? 👀

I was wondering how these frames would be used. It's about the Ep3 race riots and vampire loneliness, the night Louis left & Claudia was made. But I love the implications, cuz how could humans know ANYTHING about hows vampires feel--which is SO important when they start lying about everything else that went down with how Claudia was made and how it would affect her as a "defective" vamp.

Even the VAMPIRES don't know how other vampires feel, and the capacity they have for enduring--Armand said it over & over to Louis in Ep3 and Madeleine in Ep6. Lestat came closest in S1 when he commented on Claudia's eternally 14-yr old metabolism & needing to eat more than an normal vamp, but beyond that none of them had a effing clue what Claudia was going through. They don't know REAL loneliness, even with her diaries telling them what she thought, not HOW SHE FELT.

(And I'm reminded of what I said here about Gabrielle telling Lestat what her loneliness felt like. I think "vampire loneliness" is different for every vampire; which is precisely why Gab (and Claudia) was able to walk away from her Maker/son & live alone; while Nicky & Louis went crazy.)

Happy Grace/Pan Vibes For The Soul

First of all I'm honestly just so charmed by how genuinely delighted Pan seems to be at watching Grace finding her voice and learning to enjoy using her power, I think that's where I started to take a shine to him. (also seems quite central to his character/romance in general because it's a thing that recurs through their relationship -- he tells her "I'm enjoying it if you're enjoying it" straight out at one point and that's definitely always there in the subtext). He buys a music studio for her just in case she ever wants to return to making music again even when she's not the muse anymore just because he loves her singing and has seen it make her happy before, how is that not the sweetest goddamn thing in the world??? Pan and Oracle in shared first place as stans for Grace musically

For real though, 'I Can Teach You' is sooo... even when you don't join forces with him Pan teaches Grace so many things in that song, it's a thematic tutorial as well as a gameplay one in many ways. For me I think the most impactful subtexts are 'This is a tricky situation, change is here and it's difficult, but you have more control and agency here than you think' ("You're in control!" "It's your song!"), and this sense that, y'know... there can be joy and playfulness and discovery in setting out into the unknown, not just fear and uncertainty.

'you gave up the only thing worth having -- for your little mortal friend' he says, giving up everything for his little once-again-mortal friend literally the next day fhsdkjfhsad who are you fooling buddy? not even yourself at this point surely??? (dialogue for if you save Freddie by giving up the eidolon)

my observations on the grace/pan dynamic across the different personality traits (yes I've done a run of each romancing him I am normal about it):

Clever!Grace: Pan seems to set out to be a trickster mentor of sorts, and Clever!Grace flips the uno reverse card on him and goes ‘Not if I trickster mentor you first bitch be honest about your feelings or perish challenge engage’. Probably the most birds of a feather combination (and indeed it’s the Blue version of the soundtrack that shows off his romance — also his tie and glasses are on the cover for that one :) ). 

Charming!Grace: Performative puppy dog eyes-off whenever either of them wants to get their way. 🥺4🥺. Pan is provably a soft touch from the Charming option to find Persephone before Challenging A Queen so I feel he probably tends to buckle faster but it’s a close thing. Local trickster god completely disarmed by someone being nice to him.

Kickass!Grace: “Be real with me or Imma kick your ass”/”Promise? ;)”/"...>:)"

I am always thinking about the way he steps up in The Trial when romanced (and the way it's the only one where Athena is genuinely shocked and appalled fhskadj). there is something about him that's like... he keeps protesting against 'innocent' and he's probably right haha, but there is certainly an almost fundamental lack of any active malice there that he doesn't fully admit to himself or to grace until this moment. he is doing this for grace, but it is also a confession about something really deep in himself that seems to be very vulnerable for him in its sincerity -- that he really doesn't mean to or more importantly want to cause harm (I don't wanna dance/with blood on my hands). admitting to his own basically good heart finally seems to be the bigger, scarier thing for him, more than facing the prospect of dying. he's experiencing the mortifying ordeal of being known and I for one am so proud of him

the way he sings that just to her and completely changes the meaning of it from what he said with it before, from using it to keep her out to inviting her in...

also can you imagine how badly the kill bill sirens must be going off in Grace's head in all variations of this scene no matter who steps up, considering what happened to Freddie just days before....... oof!

I really like the visual repeats of crossing the pond to the tree and back as a metaphor for them getting closer (or rather, him letting her closer, it is very much His Space). he retreats back there towards the end of 'Share This Dance', and that's the point where Grace puts her foot down and essentially says 'no. you come meet me honestly in the middle this time or this isn't happening'. and in 'The Trial' he does and then some!

I meant what I sang. I'm not a good man. If Athena had taken me up on my offer, the Idols would have been better off But I can try to be better. You make me want to try.

fun fact: if you break up with him after The Trial (YEAH you can still break off the romances at that point! it's wild honestly fsjadk), Grace tells him he should try to be better ‘for himself’ not for her... and he calls that (i.e. himself) ‘not much of an incentive’. My guy don’t make me break out the ‘Have you tried therapy’ prompt again. He takes it very calmly and gracefully under the circumstances but he's also like. quietly resigned and subdued. I tried it once for Science and never will again but there you go I bring my knowledge to this altar of sadness lol

you see the thing is I would forgive him for just about anything too I understand why so many of the characters in-game can't stay mad at him for any length of time

he starts the game by asking her to take his hand and he ends it on asking her to take his hand (and she does)...

"Hey, sorry! I'm back," you panted with a grin, as you latched back onto Kunikida's arm. Such a statement was definitely within your top recurring dialogue whenever you left the office to complete a job, very often running into somebody that you knew or were friends with. You'd pause what you were doing, tell whoever you were with (usually Kunikida, considering you two paired quite well in every way) to wait a moment, before scurrying off to greet whomever it was you'd noticed.

Kunikida always kept count of how often this happened. Today, you'd done it twice. That was unusually low.

Kunikida slightly stiffened when you grabbed onto him, but quickly you felt him relax. Back when you'd first started dating, he seemed uncomfortable when you were physically affectionate in public, but by now he was well used to it.

"Who was that?" He asked.

"An old friend I recognised from school. She began attending in our second year, and we worked on a couple projects together," you explained. "We didn't speak much outside of that, but I don't think she minded my presence while we were there."

If he had to guess, Kunikida would have confidently made the assumption that you were on good terms with everybody you went to high school with, including your teachers.

"You could rival Kenji with how popular you are around here." He remarked.

"Please- that kid's just too sweet. I could never be as well-liked as him," you answered, with a smile still on your face.

"That's something I've noticed about you, Y/N. You're too humble," he replied. "The people won't trust a detective who doesn't believe in their own abilities."

"Hey, I never said I wasn't a good detective!" You turned to Kunikida, folding your arms. "All I said was that I'm not as popular as Kenji. Do you think I'm a bad detective?"

"Of course not. You know what I'm saying."

"Clearly I don't if I'm asking!"

"You asked because you wanted to hear me say that you were a good detective, didn't you?" Kunikida raised an eyebrow at you. Not wanting to admit such a thing, you glanced to one side. "You are a good detective, and people enjoy your company. There's no need to be self-effacing, and it's pointless when you're alone with me especially." You furrowed your eyebrows, and he rolled his eyes. "There's no use in doing so when I'm already your partner, is what I'm saying."

"Ah, you're always so serious, Doppo," you heaved in exasperation. "But it's cute sometimes, makes me feel smart and it makes sure I don't have to do much overtime, so I can forgive you." The tall man let out a sigh.

"You should start trying to regulate your work time on your own. It won't help you in the future if you keep relying on me."

"But I can't help it! I can't help talking to my coworkers when I'm in the office! Though, I suppose it'd be nice to have Ranpo off my back occasionally..." You mused, before interlacing your fingers with his and giving his hand a squeeze.

"He is a stickler for the rules, yes," he agreed, with a nod.

You pursed your lips. "Actually, never mind. Talking to you and Dazai both at once is super fun. Besides, I know you secretly like helping me manage things, don't you?"

"Are you trying to make fun of me?" Kunikida asked, frowning at you.

"Is it working?" You gave him a mischievous grin, and he just bowed his head in defeat. Unlike Dazai, he didn't really mind when you teased him, because it never hindered his work. In fact, you only ever seemed interested in affecting your own schedule by having fun and using any excuse to spend time with your friends. Plus, he would seldom say it, but he found it much more endearing than he'd have liked to admit.

"I'm sure that the two of you are taking years off my life," he told you. Kunikida's stern tone may have fooled a stranger, but by now you knew when he was and wasn't being serious. He simply wanted to maintain a public image was all; not that he could do so very effectively with you clinging to him.

"C'mon, now, don't be like that!" You grinned, taking his hand. "I'm just messing with you. Surely you're used to it by now?"

"You'd think that, but usually I expect you to be more well-behaved." He replied, his tone blunt, though you could sense the irony with which he spoke.

You tutted, and nudged him. Kunikida let out a small chuckle.

"You're so mean sometimes, Doppo..." You whined, jokingly. "Sometimes I wonder if you love me at all."

"Hm? Of course I do, darling," he replied, leaning over and placing a kiss on the crown of your head. "If you're going to ignore anything I say, don't let it be that."

"Aw, that's adorable, babe," you said, cheeks red due to surprise from the sudden display of affection. "Hey, you know what? Since we're already out here, let's go get lunch. We haven't been out to eat together in a while. And you're being so cute now that I can't help but wanna go on a date."

"We only have fifteen minutes before we're supposed to be back at the office," he replied, glancing at his watch.

"So we'll make it quick! In and out. Okay?" You asked, eagerly.

Kunikida wanted to object to that, but he didn't. He'd gotten used to adapting his schedule to fit your spontaneity into his day. Most of all, like everyone else, he simply couldn't refuse that smile.

"...alright. Fine, but on the condition that you don't mention this to anyone," he answered, his voice taut. You glanced at him with a naughty smile.

"I'm gonna tell literally everybody about this."

Kunikida looked at you, mischief glimmering in your eyes, and let out another exhale.

"Oh, but if we're free on the weekend or something, can we go on an actual date? One that lasts longer than fifteen minutes?" You asked.

"If you have a friend who owns a restaurant in Yokohama and you can get us a discount, that'd be helpful." You giggled at his reply, before considering the suggestion.

"...actually, I think I might." Kunikida gave you an amused smile.

"That doesn't surprise me at all."

And you know what? That happens. Plotting is hard. Honestly? Hate plotting so much if I don't know a person these days because I just feel overly anxious and ramble. So yeah, anyhow... Let me share some personal thoughts! THIS DOES NOT TOUCH ON PEOPLE WHO TAKE THEIR TIME, PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME IN PLOTTING AND PLEASE DO EVERYTHING ON YOUR OWN PACE! THIS IS A HOBBY AND THIS IS SOMETHING WE DO FOR FUN! This is based solely on some of my own experiences with SOME plotting (not all ofc!) as a woman oc writer in 2022-2023. I've had fantabulous experience with plotting and not so much. Please know you're valid, Ily, thank you for bearing with my burnt out ass in plottings. Mwah. Stay winning.

We all suffer from the collective dead brain cell syndrome when it comes to plotting any interaction, but do you know what kind of sucks and makes little ol' me tinsy bit bitter at the end of 2023 after going through countless people who just ignored my plotting proposals when I gave a ton of ideas? And what I'm going to call out just a tiny bit as a woman oc writer?

You can get into wikipedia and seek out information about a canon character to figure out some ideas on plots if you don't know the fandom, but do you do the same for OCs? 'Cuz OCs are sure as hell the very same 'canons from fandoms I don't know' type of situation.

Do you reach out to the CREATOR who can answer all your questions no matter how miniscule they can be? We, OC writers, are ready to give you the deep lore if you ask.

Do you check out about pages or headcanon pages? Hell, some of us have DETAILED NAVIGATION PAGES FOR VERSES! Is your OC or Canon from there? Check it out! Read! Find what interests YOU or if you didn't find something? Just ask the WRITER! Simple, innit? God, Imma be real, some of y'all gonna get my DMs like 'Listen, I can't find if you have this hc, could you please link it to me?' because I want info for plot ideas and if you do the same to me? I kiss u platonically.

Lemme give you a Done For You plotting thoughts you can use on how to plot with OCs, ladies and gents and nonbinary folks!

Do you have a specific dynamic you WANT for your character? Perhaps, you see a villain OC and want smth toxic to try out - ASK. Or you see an OC that might be a fun friend or neighbor or any other more positive dynamic - ASK. Inquire each other about what DYNAMICS you're open to. Oh you open to all? Sick. PUT DOWN YOUR BOUNDARIES FIRST. BOTH SIDES. SPEAK YOUR BOUNDARIES.

Do you have verses both of your characters are in? Be it OC & OC or Canon & OC? Noice, discuss all possible connections your characters might have! Offer ideas! Offer thoughts! The worst thing another can say is 'no'. And if so? COUNTLESS POSSIBILITIES. Yummy possibilities. Friends, childhood friends, childhood rivals, exes, rivals, co-workers, fight on sight, live next to each other, see each other in the same fucking cafe your muse goes at 2 pm specifically and ALWAYS sees another muse there... Countless. I'm telling you.

JUST DO THE FIRST STEP TOO WHEN YOU INTERACT WITH OCS, I'M ON MY KNEES BEGGING.

OFFER. IDEAS. The vaguest ones will do ok too. I cannot stress this enough but as an OC writer, I've had instances where I just... Gave 5 ideas only to have someone just drop me. Fully and completely. Not the 'I'll reach out to you later I need to think about this' but just full on 'wow this is too much plotting and I don't want to invest that much time' like it sucks. It sucks being the only person offering possible dynamics, ideas, even funny ones in some cases! I'm so burnt out from plotting dynamics because I keep. Offering. Ideas. But I don't have the same feedback loop. More like I have 0 feedback in the instances I dive into possibilities which burnt me out from plotting altogether, closing plotting possibilities with those who may actually be the same kind of insane as I am. And it sucks. Bless you all who give vague ideas or not vague ideas. Love you. You're fucking champions.

BE OPEN TO ASKING QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS, HOLY SHIT, PLEASE. Please never forget to ask "Hey, how would you feel about this scenario?" or "Would your character be in this kind of situation? Maybe that's how they met and started hanging out?" or "Oh, how about us trying out this type of dynamic and see where it goes?" or anything, really.

Dark Academia Habits to adopt

i might as well just add, HEALTHY dark academia habits to adopt easily and fit right into your schedule if you have one. This beautiful aesthetic has a lot (not all) of creators promoting things solely on the basis of defined aesthetics from media which are tremendously injurious to one's health. Please, please please...don't hurt yourself trying to follow an aesthetic, in the short or long term , we have a ton of examples for demonstartion. And please don't hurt others.

Dark Academia Habits to adopt-

romanticize your eyes and the way you say things. No writers writing about your raven eyes? write a haiku for yourself. Be your own muse!

Read. Read. Read. Don't let the DA community pressurise you into reading just the classics. Read what your heart desires? Fantasy? hell yeah!…thinking of changing your life? Self Help books? Brilliant!

I usually write letters for myself and post them to my future self in 2024 or 2025 or 2030 or more.. i write in a world war fashion or somedays in my own style. I write to my friends and family members. They are also sorta snippets of my will..idk.. like if you are reading this , and i am dead in your time...then do this this etc . Nice way to look past Death, isn't it?

"Your French is really good," Thierry says, and there is a glint in his eyes that makes Sebastian laugh out loud and lick his lips. Thierry's eyes catch the movement and Sebastian feels pure satisfaction over it.

"Not better than your German," he says, shaking his head, "I think it may be better than my German."

"Stop flattering me," Thierry says and takes a sip of his vodka. Seb keeps looking at his throat as he swallows. "I'll start thinking you are serious."

"Ah, but is it flattery if it's true?" Sebastian muses. He pushes at Thierry's shoulder playfully, and watches his eyes flash behind his glasses. "Besides, you've been praising me the whole weekend. Maybe I'm just returning the favour?"

Thierry laughs and pins Seb with his gaze. Seb thinks how he'd like to see his eyes without the glass barrier. He'd like to see them without it very much.

"I'm not embarrassed about that." He shrugs. "You are Sebastian Vettel. Of course I admire you. Only a fool wouldn't."

Seb licks his lips again, just to see if Thierry will look.

He does. Sebastian smiles.

"Careful now, Thierry," he says, "or I'll start thinking you're serious too."

They are sitting close enough that half their sides are touching. It's warm and rowdy in the room, Sunday ROC party well underway. Everyone is drunk already, and nobody is paying attention to them. Thierry shuffles and his bended knee presses into Seb's thigh.

"I am a very serious man," he says, lowering his voice just enough that Sebastian has to lean in. His curls almost touch Thierry's face. "And I am many things, but not a fool."

His eyes are hazel, and they remind Sebastian of someone else. They have the same intensity, but not in the same way. Thierry is older, almost Sebastian's age, and much more decisive than - well. No matter.

Only for a moment, the similarity is too much for Sebastian, and he looks away, covering it up with a nonchalant sip of his beer. Everybody is drunk, and nobody is paying any attention to them.

Well. Almost nobody.

Sebastian knows all the expressions on Mick's face. No matter the media training he received, Mick was always too earnest for his own good, and he never took enough care to hide himself from Sebastian, and now he's looking at Sebastian and Thierry with pure jealousy in every line of his familiar face.

It's endearing. It's too honest. It's annoying.

Sebastian thinks of his last race, where he didn't hold back per se, but he didn't really push either, knowing that a hot tub awaits him. He thinks of racing the red cars of his dreams and hazel eyes burning with intensity and Don't you dare give up, Seb, and don't you ever dare hold back and how he couldn't even if he wished to, and he didn't, not once. He thinks of when he was young and a fool and looking up into a face with ice-blue eyes, much like the ones he's looking into now, but with an edge that was, and will forever stay, unparalleled. He thinks about how good it is to feel wanted; to fill the void that has been bleeding for years. He thinks of how nothing was ever enough to fill it, and how by now, he may almost accept that nothing will ever come close, no matter how similar it - fucks - feels.

He blinks once, and looks away from Mick. He'll deal with that tomorrow. Maybe.

Thierry still hasn't looked away. Sebastian smiles, and hopes it comes off assured, and not shaky.

"That's good. I don't like fools," he says, and moves closer. "Tell me more about rally." He smiles, and he knows there's too many teeth in his smile, but Thierry doesn't seem to mind, if his own expression is anything to go by. "We have all night."

Thierry laughs, and brings his hand down on Sebastian's knee.

"That we do," he chuckles, and Seb knows they are on the same page. "That we do."

Well…Heh…I am one of those people who say they like everything and then hate on a bunch of stuff. AHSBHAV no that’s a joke, but it would be easier to say what I don’t like rather than what I do like. I don’t like the specific genre of pop that is Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, and most just popular pop songs, I guess? Like I DO like pop but not that kind of pop. I also have a thing that I need my music to be at least a little loud and energetic because most calm music (like lo-fi) stresses me out (don’t question me.). But I’d say my most listened to genres are metal, rock, hyperpop and electronic (in that order).

I have a really hard time PICKING OUT things for this reason but I’ll give you a screenshot of my most recent added songs to my playlist because those are usually my recent favourites. 2 sec hold on.

The problem is that I’m a song listener. Not an album listener, not an artist/band listener. I find a singular song I like, add it to my playlist, and move on. AHBSHA My friends hate me for it. And for that reason I also have no physical music. Only a bit of band merch from my absolute faves (Slipknot and mother mother hehe)

And now I must admit…an EMBARRASSINGLY big portion of the songs on my playlist comes from the Bumblebee movie (and it’s not transformers media, but some of the songs on the screenshot are from THE FUCKING FALLOUT SERIES (it was banger)). If you could give a single piece of advice to new people in the roleplay community, what would it be?

i see you've sent this to a few others nonny : twiliae's post is v good & so is puxrlunae's . i haven't seen others on my dash at the time of writing ( tho i can guess other ppl have been asked but idk lol ) but imma try not to duplicate what they said but / shrug

i'd recommend learning when you do need to stay in your own lane & have some critical thinking . don't push yourself into drama cause the rpc says you just have to stay informed & don't believe everything you see . i've seen a callout where they screamed that the person the callout was about was transphobic cause they used the wrong pronoun for a muse ..........in a whole roleplay where they than used the correct pronoun & it was simply a mistype in one or two places . but the callout post highlighted the wrong pronoun use to make sure you believed them & not the would-be offender & people are quick to the gun . this wasn't in the zelda rpc nor any connected one & was years ago so i don't remember anything beyond it was so shitty to bend the truth . like maybe english was their second language so they got confused or forgot or maybe someone writes the same muse with different pronouns ?? idk

sometimes it's better to just turn around & go back to writing ur little doll kissing ur friends doll lol

  Wind beams in response to the words, bright eyes traveling over their number with a contented smile. “It feels kind of like having a family, doesn’t it?”

  A few brows cock and eyes raise in a perfect example of how his boys usually communicate, and it’s telling that Wind knows at once that they’re asking him to explain. The sailor sits up a bit, hands raising from where they’d been resting beside him to instead gesture restlessly as the sailor speaks.

  “You know, like, Four’s sort of like having a brother, and Twilight is a big brother, and Wild is kind of like a mix between a big brother and a big sister, but not an oldest sibling?”

  The champion chuckles at that, smile bright despite the scars pulling at his lips oddly. “That sounds about right.”

  “And Time is the dad.” Twilight hums, thoughtful.

  It warms his heart to hear his pup thinks of him so, but Wind only shakes his head. “No, Time’s like the grandpa. Warriors is the dad.”

  The words make a few of them start again, but he hears Legend snort with laughter as well as Four’s muffled cackle. As for the Old Man himself, Time can only laugh at the words, the sound ringing over camp amid startled faces and sudden stares. “A grandfather, huh?”

  “Well,” Wind corrects, smirking that familiar mischievous smirk. “You’ll always be my baby brother, but now you act more like a grandfather most of the time, so it fits.”

  The words confuse most of the others, especially poor Twilight, who looks very lost, but he catches the warm smile shot his way by the captain. It’s the same one from ages ago, that same adoring smile that always made him feel warm and tingly inside with something he couldn’t name. He’s still not able to put a name to it exactly, but he knows now that it's some sort of pleased response. And of course, he knows that because he feels the same way even after all these years.

  “I suppose you’re right,” he muses, staring at the captain with his one good eye and watching that adoring smile turn to something crooked and full of laughter as both Wind and himself stare at the man.

  He can feel Twilight staring, hear Wild sniggering his delight at his own mentor’s confusion. Still, he doesn’t provide answers or spare them, or any of the others, a glance. As Wind said, he’s much older now and he does try and act like an adult, but he's long since understood (although he didn’t during the war) that his mind and body will never quite be in agreement on his age, so he allows the childish part of himself to revel in their confusion and make it worse by neither addressing it nor them.

  It works too.

  “I think,” Warriors puffs, tapping the pipe-stem against his lips with a smirk that he definitely learned from one of the two of them, “you’re right, Wind. Goodness knows if Time calls me ‘daddy’ anymore it would sound wrong in all sorts of ways.”

  And the mere mention does have quite the effect because all laughter suddenly cuts out as not only Twilight, but Wild also both choke slightly. Hyrule’s cackle is the only thing to be heard in the wake of the statement as Sky and Four both look around at the others with varying shades of confusion.

  “Why would that be weird?” Four asks. “I mean, besides it being Time calling someone ‘daddy’. I mean, I call my dad-”

  Hyrule looks quite like he’s going to explode, he’s laughing so hard. Indeed, the traveler is wrapping his arms around his ribs in an attempt, most likely, to ease the ache in them as he hollers laughter so hard it actually has him tipping out of his seat and down on top of Legend, who’d propped himself against the other’s stone seat while doing his mending. Still, despite likely getting pins all in him, Hyrule continues to laugh, tears pouring down his face.

  “I think you should stop it there, Four.” Legend sighs, nudging the traveler off of his lap with a slight frown. “He’s going to pass out.”

  The childish part of him thinks that would be equally hilarious- Hyrule fainting from laughter- as the smirk on Warriors’ face as he meets Twilight’s very wide and very shocked midnight eyes.

  “But why is it funny?” Sky asks, blinking innocently because, of course, Sky is absolutely innocent in that sort of way and would have no clue as to why such a thing would make the traveler burst a gut. Honestly, he’s a bit surprised Hyrule knows, and furthermore that Hyrule thinks it’s funny, rather than embarrassing as many people would, but then again it’s Hyrule: he’s almost as full of surprises as Time himself.

  “When you’re older, Sky.” Warriors drawls in answer, chuckling himself.

  At his side, Legend nods, and foists the now hacking for breath traveler into the captain’s lap. “Yeah. Much older.”

  Perfect brows raise in a question that’s shot the vet’s way, one which has Legend, of all people, hurriedly dropping his eyes and turning back to his mending with a particularly intent manner. A manner that has the captain staring, brows raised and lips twitching into a smile that’s both curious and fully prepared to tease.

Oh goodness where do I begin!!! LONG POST AHEAD!!!! Ok soooo I have some posts tagged as #mad t fandom lore thanks to @spikrock and @hattersgirlalice for giving me the inspiration to start this whole rabbit hole of nostalgia lol which showcases the basic general info of the mtp band performer's nicknames and noteworthy moments in the fandom (mostly gifs of the band that altered the fandom in some way, and fanart from the captains)

U can watch all the videos of the band performing on YouTube (There's numerous sources but I personally like to watch Nick Turchens playlist another place to find vids of T are just random clips here on Tumblr)

The OG Captains from what I can personally remember were @briannacherrygarcia she was THE ARTIST! she made the majority of the fanart headcanons for the fandom along with Storywhisper who wrote fanfics! (unfortunately they're deactivated and it still makes me sad I wanted to reread all their fics to freshen up on the lore but alas they are lost in the void somewhere as far as I know if anybody has links saved uhhhh help a girl out 👀)

There's many other talented fanfic authors and fan-artists!!! Gifs and Photography were a HUGE part of the fandom! People would make reaction gifs out of any and everything! Alot of shippy moments that were captured by these talented peeps made us all go feral EVERY SINGLE. TIME. BCUZ THEY WERE OUR ONLY REFERENCE FOR CANON CHARACTERIZATION STUFF.

Blitz's shopping spree was such a joy to watch, and it shows how much effort he's willing to put into the visits he makes to Stolas in order to keep his business and friends financially secure. i'm waiting to see if one/the mnm's will get a similar sequence in the future.

these shopkeeper designs fucking ROCK and i want to know more about them ! even if i know they're probably one-time characters and will never see them again lol

the remainder of IMP vs. the CHERUBS were so fun to watch ! i feel bad for Ozzie though, he and Fizz are definitely having a talk about Blitz and his team being surpervised if they're ever allowed to visit the Lust ring again after all the damage they caused.

Stolas... didn't just start the conversation by giving him the crystal, first ? asking about the book first -- Blitz's only reason that his business is still running and keeping him AND his employees financially afloat -- and seeing the underlying fear and uncertainty on Blitz's face before Stolas doubles down... God, it hurts. ' i can always do better ' just... OUGH.

i am going to out myself as a Blitz enjoyer here because i relate to him a lot on a concerning level.. but also because i've been to that scalding, steaming pit of self-hatred, too ; i've long since climbed out of that pit, but i can understand his position because i've been there. you feel like you're alone, even when you're in a room full of company that you enjoy being with. you feel like even when you're surrounded by loving family/friends, you have this feeling in your heart that they secretly hate you regardless of how much praise or support they give you. something just feels... off. any signlas that Stolas may have given him just whooooooshed over Blitz's head because he's too caught up in his own self-loathing to see it.

additionally, i've ALSO been fearful of someone with higher authority who's able to decide whether or not i keep my job depending on their opinion of me. to have such low self esteem and be at a disadvantage in The System just freaking sucks donkey balls, bro.

i'll give Stolas credit where it's due : the communication is FINALLY happening ! but you know what's awesome about that process ? learning to LISTEN !! he knows that Blitz is a guy who uses humor in the way he communicates, and i feel that it would not have taken more than a few seconds for him to have said, ' Blitz, i'm being serious '. would it have not lead to Blitz blowing up at him ? i don't know ! would it have lead to Blitz calling out Stolas and having his emotional rant anyway ? it's entirely possible !

both characters are so caught up in their pains that, if they took a little more time to clarify themselves and their feelings, it's very likely that their confrontation wouldn't have ended the way it did.

BASICS x2 What caused you to start writing? What was your key point?

in 3rd grade we watched the cartoon movie version of the legend of sleepy hollow and had an assignment to write a summary of it. i was barely out of ESL at the time but thought it was a neat assignment (and prided myself on my memory for details) so i hecking did my best and wrote a long detailed one (with pictures because it was elementary school and you could illustrate your stuff) and for some reason my teacher and the principal were all happy about it and made a big deal complete with ceremony and applause and made me feel important and cool.

after that i was like "yeah! that was awesome. can't i write more stories like that even outside of school?" and thus it kicked off my journaling obsession besides writing diaries of my daily life. i did a lot of original fics and sailor moon/digimon-inspired stuff but when i found ff.net it was like discovering a whole new world where you could control the characters to do whatever you wanted (while staying IC, cause that was definitely part of the "rules" of the challenge) and that was amazing.

realizing writing meant i could take destiny into my own hands for these made-up blorbos was such a fun power trip. i have tried to use that power responsibly ever since.

Do you still write your first muse?

dahlia hawthorne was my first real muse on tumblr and i poke her now and then, but she seems content in her semi-retirement in my brain. sometimes she wakes up to snark people but she's enjoying her vacation in peace right now : )

Have you ever written a canon muse that you first thought of ‘meh’ when they appeared in their canon show/movie/book?

don't shoot me but before i wrote yagen toushirou for touken ranbu i was like "yeah yeah okay this is just a standard big brother x cool doctor type trope," i actually didn't even pick him up until i wanted to try someone new and my other friends (playing other swordboys at the time) suggested him

then i had to research him and really fell in love with the dichotomy of his character, about how he's very human with his brothers but also 100% a weapon and embraces that fact, about the juxtaposition of DUTY vs. FEELING and the HUMAN HEART vs. OBJECT/TOOL he's been balancing all his life on a very fine line (and does flawlessly, because he's yagen) and i was like, heck! this is gonna be so fun to RP and make him deal with stuff

tho most of the time i got into crack threads again and shipping with Fudou it was still very very fulfilling and im glad my friends convinced me to try him out :D

Do you have developed dynamics with the OC of another mun that has influenced your OC or Canon muse?

yeah I mean this guy wouldn't exist without Jade's Klaus u know? his template might've been taken from his faceclaim guy but the rest of him i molded to fit Jade's OC, specifically his personality and to an extent his looks. in some ways Klaus has everything Aurelius lacks and vice versa, they have this classic balancing scales thing going on that i like very much and try to fill intentionally.

i also wanna say Klaus is one of the few windows to Aurelius' genuine gentle/good side, the side he might have been all the time if his father didn't screw him up from birth (of course i can't say his dad is all to blame, but he sure takes 60~75% of the blame).

as for developed dynamics im guessing this is asking about interactions with another OC that influenced this one...why do i feel like they've all been humbling experiences... Issy has shown him some humans are worth treating with care, Constantine has demonstrated how not everyone takes his shit, Dar is there to inspire working business relationships while highlighting Aury's awkward aspects fitting in, Huey undos all the good work everyone else puts in by proving how crappy some humans act, etc.

idk how to answer that part aside from "they help subvert expectations, but i don't know if that's enough to actually change the way he acts" why did i pick this Q the second part's hard to answer hahah

Who was your first OC?

time to get embarrassing so my first OC with an actually established backstory and stuff was this girl with a randomnly generated Japanese name i thought was pretty (Saikoubi) for a digimon RP group

and i intentionally gave her a happy-go-lucky personality and positive outlook because looking at the rest of the applicants everyone was like either emo or orphaned or both and my 14-year-old self was like "well! how are we going to save the world as digidestined if we're sad all the time" and basically made her the complete opposite of everyone else

it was rad, people got to be edgy, she got to be sunny, we didn't really get past the first region between our threads before the group died down but i think we all had fun and that's what matters in the end xD

What is your favorite fandom in which you write?

i still like touken ranbu but it's more fun to write (RP) that when other swordboys are around, plus the fandom's so saturated with new swordboys these days it's hard to keep up with latest lore stuff. i still try to write 1 fanfic for it in the annual xmas secret santa thing the english-speaking fans host, tho i'm very very slow these days

beyond that i've been dipping into FFXIV fic writing a few times but i haven't grasped the language of the world well enough yet so i'm not satisfied with my work ehhh it is what it is for now

Do you plot a ship or see where it goes?

it's more fun to see where a ship goes because i like unpredictability. like the unscripted stuff feels more genuine to me especially if it surprises me u know? i do acknowledge the value of a well-planned romance but in a fall first vs. fall harder relationship i'm definitely invested more in the "fall harder and beautifully in all the disastrous ways" kinda person

i think that's how my past ships have generally gone, finding a connection between 2 muses, expanding on it, referencing it, and then boom! one day you know so much more about the other muse and you're always thinking about them and wait, what, we're hanging out together? just the two of us? is this a DATE? kinda revelations are very fun

What are you looking for in a ship?

i enjoy ships with room to develop. like it's cute when they come together and are all kiss kiss/blush blush but the process to getting there is half the fun! and the pining. and maybe a little misunderstanding here and there.

uhhhh i guess what im saying is i like the journey to get to the ship even more than the ship itself sometimes

or if we're in a ship let's go crash the boat for fun!!
