-Oh, you thought 1 Astro is fine? How about 7 instead?! Yep! 7!! Congratulations, now you have 7 Astro's just following you around without question! It was pretty funny, as Astro's footsteps were just.. quiet. You turn around for one second and then back and you see a whole army of Astro's just observing you, making sure to watch your every move with those sleepy eyes of theirs. Some even smiled sleepily at you and it got you to turn around, flustered. No matter where you go, they followed around with no sound, just casually smiling sleepily and there was pretty much nothing you could do about it!

-Stamina? Pfffft! What's that?? Never heard of it before! Good luck actually running out of stamina because the Astro's are READY to use their skills and make sure you are back to full again, fully rested. They even take turns using their skill so EVEN if you ran like there is actually no tomorrow after one of them restored it, an Astro will ALWAYS have their skill available JUST for you! Lucky you! Sounds like a deal, no? The Astro's are even helping each other, giving stamina to each other so they can catch up to you if you ever ran away. You know they can see that you're low, right? They'll be there soon for you, trust!

-Extracting from machines has never felt more peaceful, because they are literally standing around in all the openings a twisted can get through towards you. They just casually drive the twisted away, no worries for you! All you can do is extract ichor from the machines. Some do help do machines themselves but it's mostly them protecting you and making sure nothing gets to you. You almost will never hear anything unusual as you do your own thing and are taking your sweet time, the Astro's have it all under control! Only thing you'll hear is just some faint footsteps but it's mostly the machine dropping ichor that has almost all your attention.

-It's actually scary how well they communicate too, even without words! It's like these Astro's know what they are doing.. knowing exactly how to pull on a twisted's tail and avoid them perfectly, like they have been doing this for years or something! Sometimes you think that the Astro's are just messing with you but at this point they haven't even allowed the twisteds to even get a LOOK at you! They always drive them away somewhere far from you, like they have made it their life goal or something! They do it so casually too that you think nothing is actually wrong on these.. weird floors and all these weird machines and whatever else is on here!

-They like to use their powers and combined, make any twisted pass out in literal seconds, even the mains! The mains!! 1 Astro would probably find it very difficult but 7 combined?? Nothing actually stands a chance, it's actually scary how much power they hold but it's all to protect you. They are working together so well like actual functioning braincells! Something I don't have!! Wow!! Have you ever seen a public lobby this good? No?? Well, you're in luck now! They know exactly what they are doing and they are doing it WELL. Power of friendship with each other ahhhh Astros.

-They find it funny to make a circle around you as you stand in the middle when the elevator goes to the next floor, no matter where you look.. it's that sleepy expression and smile as they look at you so softly!! Argh!! Good luck hiding your flustered expression cuz you can't hide ANYWHERE when they have you like that! If Dandy's shop is ever in the same floor, even the star of the show himself has NO idea what he's even looking at! He knows it's Astro.. AstroS, or something. He just pulls on the lever silently as his eyes can't.. process what he's looking at?? There goes Dandy's Shop for you! Whoopsies!

-These Astro's LOOOOVE using their star hands pretty much all the time so you'll see these glowy star hands producing this soft and cool light around you. It can also be used to create this very cool view where all the Astro's are holding their hands up close to one another's and it looks like a mini space.. considering you don't mind the lights combining and becoming stronger... and you can't see absolutely anything!! Well, if they do it a bit farther where you can see their hands more clearly then it looks nice! Sometimes they even run in line and it's like stars traveling together.. was Astro always this playful??? No??? Huh????

-Blackouts almost become Brightney only runs at this point cuz when they stick together, it's like y'all are the sun or something! So much light!! Even if one of them leaves to explore around, IT'S STILL SO B R I G H T! CYAN LIGHT!! BOOM! Sometimes they do you the favor and split kinda and the floor almost feels like it has regular light again.. just a cyan light though, like someone changed the lights. These Astro's are literally the torches in Minecraft! They LITERALLY light your way towards the machines and stand by the side like they are your precious knights. It wasn't until a big looking rock dog appeared out of nowhere, chased you and opened his jaws and your view went dark.

-You woke up in your bed sweating and touching around in panic as you realized you had the most unhinged dream.. it felt so weird and real at the same time. You knew you saw the Gardenview floors and these weird machines.. too many Astros who simped for you too, how weird!! it wasn't until Astro flinched by your sudden gasp and gently touched your hand in worry, grounding you as he told you to take deep breaths. When you tried to explain the dream to him, he looked so confused and flabbergasted. He only remembers sending you nice dreams tonight..

-He helps calming you down by getting you water and listening to you talk about that dream with so much.. confusion. He did blush and felt flattered that you dreamed of him.. 6 more of him, doing their best to protect you? The dream you are describing to him sounds so far off from the actual dream he send you but he definitely reassures you that he will be here for you and you can try sleeping again as it was quite late. Astro will always be there for you and to always listen to your rants about the most unhinged dreams, he promises that he is trying his best to send you a good dream though!!

Dialogue!!!11:

The main thing I did over the past week or so was put together this dialogue system. The system itself was fairly easily to implement, and I think the only interesting part of the process to share is how I went about making the UI. As per usual, I wanted to have a cool mechanical feeling ui, but at the same time a friend of mine suggested an AOL instant messenger inspired chat window. I loved both of these ideas so I decided to combine them into a screen that pops up and contains the aim-like window. The modeling process for the screen was similar to how I went about making the other two bits of ui that are on screen in the above photos, but I decided to include a VGA port.

VGA PORT:

I didn't originally plan to include a VGA port, but I was in the middle of researching monitors and accidentally left a window open on my computer that just had a big photo of one and I went "wait a minute.". With my final two braincells I suddenly decided to slap together a model for the port which I ended up being proud enough of to, for some reason, make an entire section for it.

Sorry if any of the above sentences read horribly. I am going to need a third braincell if you want this stuff to be coherent. Anyway, Blender is so cool. Using the array modifier to make all these lil squares for the holes in the port is just such a satisfying process. I've come to really like makin pre-rendered assets like this.

New Movez:

This is actually a pretty big inclusion, and I probably should've ranked it in my mind above the VGA port. I added some new movement options to the game!

Firstly, I added this melee move where you swing the back of the sniper forwards to propel yourself a bit. It is mainly useful as a bunnyhop that allows you to conserve momentum.

Next up I added this kick that happens if you melee while in the air. It's basically just the one from mario64. It lets you gain a little bit more height and distance. It also becomes way more effective if you have a lot of momentum. A good tool for correcting jumps and reaching new heights.

Finally, we have the big schmovement slide. This slide gives you a huge burst of speed that you can jump out of in order to send your self flyin. Surprisingly, it didn't really break any of the level design and ended up being a really fun addition imo. In order to perform it, you have to do a ground pound and then melee as you hit the ground. Also, I feel like I basically stole this from pseudoregalia. Played through that recently and it has been a good source of inspiration.

Nova!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

This is a cameo skin I've been really excited to finally make myself put in the game. Anodyne 2 is a really important game to me, and I love it much. I'm really happy tha folks at analgesic let me put her in here, and I'm p happy with how her model came together. If you haven't peeped the Anodyne games I highly recommend them. The first one was a major inspiration for parts of Fatum Betula.

Conclusion:

Lately I've been playing this game way too much. It has made it impossible for me to tell if it is fun or well designed. Some problems cropped up during playtesting that ima need to address, and I hope that it all comes together into something that one could say is "fun and cool". I think takin this weekend off is gonna do my brain good. Oh yeah also I feel like I should advertise that I'm still doing commissions if anyone is interested. Anyway, have a good 1 and enjoy urself.

Harpo Marx (Night at the Opera, Night in Casablanca, Duck Soup)—While Groucho is better-known, Harpo's physical comedy is SECOND-TO-NONE. The man is a strange mime trapped in the paradigm of early 20th century movies. Every move is a symphony and simultaneously a colony of rats in a human skin suit. LISTEN. You MUST see this man in motion. Every still photo of him looks like a combination of a sad clown and a different, sadder clown, but it's only because he put so much joy in every motion.

Harpo Marx:

Harpo is mute in all of the Marx Bros movies and so his body language and facial expressions are SO over the top but he's also got fewer braincells than a goldfish while often being the emotional heart of the Marx Bros and he's just A Guy!!

Every scene with Harpo Marx is a treat! Just like watching a seagull steal a stranger's hotdog at the beach, it is a joy to watch him frustrate the hell out of all the other films' characters! Harpo Marx is the zenith of unhinged in all of his appearances, making any other funny man a straight man by comparison. (A fantastic feat considering he starred in films with his brothers Grouch and Harpo, who sported a shoe polish mustache and questionable Italian accent, respectively). The scrungliness of the little guys he plays come from his guileless, wide-eyed expression, curly blond wig, and the extreme ability to annoy others, despite never saying a word. Is he malicious? Most definitely, but hard to tell because he has a dopey grin on his face most of the time. Communicating through other sounds like honking horns and whistling, he is a force of chaos in every Marx brothers film! Also an accomplished harp player, the beautiful calm moments where Harpo plays juxtapose the zany, making him all the more scrungly. His visual style of comedy is timeless; Duck Soup had me rolling with laughter as a six year old and is still just as funny today. ///

In my opinion Harpo is the funniest of the Marx brothers because he is so good at slapstick comedy. Since he never speaks in his film appearances his performances are very physical, which contributes a lot to his scrungliness. He was fully committed to being wacky at all times. All of his hilarity is based on him being weird.

He's like if a clown was a hobo was also somehow a classically trained harpist, his face is always in some kind of contorted silly shape, feral curly haired ninnymuggins always doing weird things to people  

He's just a weird little guy who causes chaos everywhere he goes, and then sits down and plays a beautiful harp solo! He steals the show from his very chatty brothers without saying a word, and was surprisingly ripped under that old raincoat

All of the Marx Brothers are Scrungly to a degree, but Harpo is the scrungliest! His outfits are so big he gets lost in them, his pockets are full of everything, and because he never speaks, he always uses physical comedy. Also he's an incredible musician.

And again, we see Phum coming here for no reason but to drop Peem off.

Also, he usually just stayed in the car previously, but now he's walking with Peem all the way.

I reckon we'll be seeing much more of Phum appearing in front of the Fine Arts building for nothing but to drop off or talk to his boyfriend Peem, in a slight reflection of all the times he came here to take Peem off somewhere to make him do something for him.

And I can't wait for it. <3

This painting, that was ruined due to Phum, that he had to painstakingly repaint while having to obey Phum's whims, this painting that represents his comfort (I don't know shit about art interpretation, but in grade 12 I had friends who'd taken art and I learnt a couple things from them), that represents himself, and in this painting, he adds bright red roses, for the ones that Phum gave him when he was driving him back because he was absolutely wasted, the roses he didn't have the heart to throw out.

And he's drawing these red roses to represent Phum, to show that inexplicably, but undeniably, Phum is a part of his life now; a part he likes enough to embed in one of his most prized paintings (as assumed from various context clues and such along the series). And when he does, he thinks of how Professor Po said "Every work you create contains a piece of you".

If this doesn't show that despite his caustic and sarcastic exterior, Peem is a sappy mushy romantic at heart (he is a Fine Arts student after all), I don't know what does.

This moment felt so poetic (I literally could write a poem about it and it still wouldn't be able to capture the raw beauty and vulnerability and love of this scene.)

Apart from not leaving Kluen hanging, and making sure he knows, this moment is also about Peem admitting to himself aloud, that yes, he does like Phum. He's slowly getting out of De Nile.

He didn't have to say this, but he did. To gently reject Kluen and tell himself that there was no going back now.

And Phum, my beloved, while more than a little emotionally constipated, he has consistently tried to tell Peem what he feels. And now, he's the one outright saying he likes Peem in front of everyone. He's the one saying "okay, if you can't, I will." And I love him for it. He does it while staring right at Peem too.

Normal and Sane KHR Merch Haul (it's mostly Hibari btw)

It's been a while since I posted and gushed about the merch I've been getting, and I received a lot since then (esp with the recent Ju/mp Fe/sta) so I'll just combine them all in one post! (this is a long post bc of my yapping, ignore the texts if u just wanna see the pics dkdhdkdb)

The first one here is Hibari's Pri/maniacs perfume! (displayed with the Hibari nitotan nui for size comparison 🤣)

Credits and a very loud eardrum shattering shout-out to @amiahoshi for translating the product description for it and for always saving my life from shit MTLs 😭💜✨🫂 That TL gave me doki dokis hahahahaha helphdhdvfhvdf I'm way too deep into this, I'm beyond cooked 🤣 (I'll just make a separate post for the TL!)

Though honestly, it's kind of a dumbass decision on my side to buy perfume in the first place because I get nauseous from most of them. Not to mention, since this is a flammable item, it's extra costly to buy them from JP.

But surprisingly, when I tried smelling it, it's kinda okay? (or maybe I'm just coping since he's my oshi) So in the end, maybe it's not that much of a dumbass idea to buy this after all.

I won't be using it regularly because every drop of this is gold 🗿💸 and I don't go out often anyway. But maybe when I attend certain occasions I will. I'm almost tempted to buy a second one (one for display, one for use???...das crazy...shut up Ein, have mercy on your wallet)

Next one is Ill/egal Factory Studio's TYL Hibari figure! This one's an unofficial merch btw, but it looks so good that it's definitely worth it! 😭🙏✨

It's quite huge, the product page says the height is around 37cm (at least taller than a regular ruler?). It even came with this really nice-looking photocard and the box looks so good too (which I'm keeping under the desk because I didn't wanna throw it away).

Now, I'm praying for GSC to release an official figure for TYL Hibari. Right now, we do have his Nendo 2.0 coming up, so I'll just be waiting for updates on that one.

Speaking of GSC, I also got his Nendo (1.0) some time last year! The poses are so cute, I'm glad Hibird is with him in this! 🐥💜 (for the GSC Pop-up Parade figure it's here)

This reminded me, I should buy a BJD body for this so I can buy custom clothes for him 😈😈😈 That also means custom nendo for a certain other blorbo hehe 🍎 That'll be another project for a different day and post.

In terms of figures, I'm still on the look-out for the G.E.M. figure (where he's wearing a suit in a dynamic pose ft Hibird) and Ill/egal Factory Studio's Varia Arc Hibari (ft him obliterating Gola Mosca *chef kiss*). Just need the right timing (+ right listing), since I'm doing 5D chess budgeting over here and losing lots of braincells 😭😭😭 PRICE GOUGERS/SCALPERS WHEN I CATCH YOU!!! 🤬🤬🤬 WHEN I CATCH YOU!!! This stupid mf says as she buys their shit anyway. Sorry, I'm part of the problem. I buy the less price gouged one at least???

This Nendo also came with a bunch of free Shikishi boards from the Hikokuji set! 1 x Tsuna, 1 x Hibari, 1 x Dino, 2 x Mukuro, 2 x Xanxus, 2 x Squalo and 2 x Bel. I gave the dupes to my brother (the ones with dupes happened to be his faves lol), so here are the ones left with me (the extra Hibari one is already in my shrine).

When I rearrange my Hibari shrine, I'm thinking of also setting up a general KHR(e) shrine so I can display them there.

Anyway, here's the whole package I got for that batch of shipment!

This includes merch from the Am/ano Aki/ra Exhibit plus Vol 2 of the KHR x San/rio Collab merch. I really love the Sanrio merch they're releasing (it's just so cute! 😭💖 H.K. & H.K. duo, you will always be famous to me) so I make sure to at least get the acrylic stands from Vol 1 and Vol 2. But I spectacularly failed for Vol 3 (it's a lottery, I was so depressed that time I forgor to buy pulls...), so I'm at the mercy of the JP marketplaces again for this and the prices are making me fall to my knees.

For the Am/ano Aki/ra Exhibit merch, I was actually a bit hesitant to buy this tbh because I was planning to personally attend at their last location in Nagoya, so I might as well just buy it there? But plans fell through so I went ahead and bought them. At that time, I thought Nagoya is the last one but apparently there are plans to continue? So if there's another one later this year, then I'll make plans again to finally attend. I just need someone to go with me! Even if I already went to JP before, I feel like I need to go a few more times with someone to get used to international travel 😭 (also I'm slightly a workaholic perhaps, I feel guilty when I take time off work)

Here's the tapestry at the upper-left corner by the way! (plus some other ones I have) It's in-between the two blankets I got from that one auction that got me sweating a lot and almost gave me high blood pressure.

It's so worth it, I wake up to this every day 🤣🫶✨ I adjusted the display from the left pic since then, to make space for the new one in the right pic. (My room has zero windows, so I had the curtain rod installed there just for this purpose ssjdhvfjhsvf the things I do for my oshi...tho I think it's easy to tell how small my room is from this wall, I'm struggling to cram all of these in there fr fr)

Next up is my copy of the KHR's English Dub by Diskotek! I honestly haven't watched it yet because I keep forgetting to buy the Blu-ray External Disk Drive 💀💀💀 I should really order one soon, I'm very curious about how they performed.

Then, after that is my haul from Anpanic's listings! I happen to come across it within like 10 minutes of them posting it, and I never zoomed in on someone's Sho/pee link so fast hahahahaha Anyway, I was fast and managed to grab most of the Hibari-related ones.

And I'm so happy they even included me some freebie Knights (En/stars) merch!!! 🥹💖✨ They probably noticed that my pfp in Sho\\pee is Leo hehe 🥰🥰🥰

I also got merch through The Vongola Hideout too! My favorite from this is the handkerchief showing Hibari feeding Hibird some takoyaki! 🥹💜✨ I've been looking for it for a while now and the ones I've seen before are so overpriced. My other fave is the fish Reborn I caught for Butter ahahaha it looks so funny, I love it so much 🤣🥰🤣🥰 I didn't know this merch existed helpsdjfshjf

Besides those, I got a bunch of CCG of not only Hibari but for my dearest girlies as well 🥰✨ Please look at them!!!

And I really just wanna put the spotlight on this particular card with Kyoko and Ryohei!!! Specifically, this very rare expression for Kyoko-chan awawawawawawa IT'S SO GOOD!!! SHE SLAYED SO HARD!!! I REALLY REALLY WANTED A COPY OF THIS BC OF THAT AND NOW I HAVE IT~😍😍😍

Finally the last ones is the recent batch I got from FJ, which includes the merch sets from the recent Jum/p Fest/a! They were actually two boxes, but one got stuck in Customs due to the holidays, so I have two packages arrive at the same time in the post office lmao

Here are the misc ones I got too! The Ryohei and Reborn ones are what I got because they're in a set with the Hibari chibi gashapon (will be gifting them to my friends too). Then the Fran photocard is an Ani/mate freebie, and I gave him to my brother.

🪱 Simple sketch! Using the animate help function to allow me to see the layers all on one frame in different colors without needing to change my color of my pen. I sketched and laid each character in the spot that I felt fit! I’m not crazy good at hands or feet so most my braincells were trying to make those convincing.

🎨Color blocking characters! Using 3 layers I spaced out the color blocking so that if needed I could select one character on the layer instead of affecting others. All without needing a layer for each character. I blocked off the layers via 1 color group before going in and placing colors character by character.

☎️shading! Kept fairly simple as halftones and noise would add additional looks so I didn’t want to overwhelm the piece at all.

🫎 comic/ old anime look! Using halftones, noise, and bloom- I went through each layer and made them the level I wanted before combining all layers together! The lineart halftone was set differently though! Instead of full color it was on the print setting. Making the lineart slightly see through to match the color underneath. Making it mesh better I think!
