But she’s been missing for years, and, on the isolated island of New England, the horrors only get worse by the night." (DC Comics)
Tumblr media

The legendary assassin Deathstroke stalks a frozen wasteland, killing for coin among a nation of ever-warring jarls. But when our murderer for hire finds himself cast in the role of reluctant guardian, will he fight to end the icy curse destroying his land, or be consumed by the sins of his own dark past?" (DC Comics)

Vice [Ghost x gn!Reader]
(A Camomile Interlude)
pt. 1, pt. 2, pt. 3, pt. 4, pt. 5, pt. 6, pt. 7, pt. 8, pt. 9, pt. 10, pt. 11, pt. 12, pt. 13, pt. 14, pt. 15, pt. 16, pt. 17
AN: Hey girlies (gender neutral term), uni is being a bitch right now and I'm at a mental capacity hence the less frequent updates. BUT here’s a wee hurt/comfort interlude that will hopefully tide you over till the next Camomile chapter :)
Synopsis: Set sometime in the early few chapters of Camomile. Ghost catches you at war with a punching bag – the bag is winning. Hurt/comfort. Word Count: 1.3k Warnings: Canon typical violence. Mentions of self-harm, violence, sex, drugs, smoking etc. Ghost x gn!Reader (Callsign: Rags)
✧˚ · .
Everyone who enlisted had some sort of problem. A generalisation that could be easily backed up with evidence if someone bothered to carry out the research. And if one were the outlier who enlisted issue-free there was no doubt they’d be left with an arsenal of them if they survived long enough to retire.
Mental health was something not many talked about. Besides, If one were too open they risked an honourable discharge.
And so when the horrors of the mind became too much, people turned to alternatives. Alcohol, drugs (you’d be surprised what could be snuck onto a military base), sex, smoking, violence, self-harm – the works.
All were acceptable in certain contexts and most soldiers had the rules down-packed.
Violence was only tolerated on the battlefield; alcohol could be discretely added to coffee in the morning; pills before bed; sex in a maintenance closet; cigars instead of cigarettes; unnecessary risks led to injuries in the field – the works.
It was some sort of unwritten code – everyone had their vice.
Ghost was a curveball.
You’d caught him with a pack of Camels within a week of joining the 141. It was dark and you were far more interested in studying how his lighter illuminated his jawline and scarred lips than the burning cigarette between his pale fingers. It was your first time catching him without the mask obscuring all of him from view.
The mask.
That was strike two.
There were plenty of unique characters in the military; though you’d never met one like him.
It almost seemed like satire – the skull.
You were quick to learn it wasn’t. He was as silent as his namesake and as deadly as the reaper he portrayed.
But he was a complete contradiction.
Teabags he kept in a delicate tin which had been labeled in his distinct handwriting – somehow scrawly but swirly at the same time – and he drank camomile from a chipped novelty mug which depicted the London skyline. The Eye had been half rubbed away – probably from the dishwasher – and the top of Big Ben had begun fading but he dutifully used it each time without fail.
✧˚ · .
“Tea time”, as you’d coined it inside your head, began spontaneously and became a regular, though informal, occurrence.
The Lieutenant wasn’t one for conversation and it took a couple of months of tentative small talk before you could comfortably hold a two-sided conversation with him.
Though slowly but surely he unfurled.
His gaze softened, sentences lengthened and touches lingered.
Water would be plonked in front of you before you even knew you needed it, doors opened when your arms were full and jackets draped across your shoulders before your shivers even began.
He was an observer, you realised. There wasn’t a single detail he overlooked.
So it shouldn’t’ve been a surprise when he noticed.
✧˚ · .
You’d never describe yourself as violent before you enlisted. Strong, maybe, or passionate. But put a C8 assault rifle in the hands of a young soldier with unresolved trauma and violence was the only outcome.
Hand-to-hand was addictive, knives too.
It wasn’t something you enjoyed, taking lives, but it was a necessary evil – at least that was what everyone tried to convince themselves when they closed their eyes at night.
Violence came hand in hand with pain, however.
Perhaps that was the real vice.
✧˚ · .
It was regulation to wear wraps when using the bags at the back of the gym.
But after a particularly rough mission wrapping your hands was the last thing on your mind.
Your fists met the bag in rapid succession, knuckles crunching against the sand-filled column.
The bag on the end was firmed than the rest and whenever your mind became too loud, this was where you could be found.
You thought you’d been discrete; believable with your smile and cheery goodnight but the figure in the doorway said otherwise.
You were too focused on the way the pain flared as your split knuckles met the bag to notice.
It wasn’t til he’d rounded the bag and pulled it away from when you recognised you’d had an audience.
You pant, chest screaming as you met him through lashes you hadn’t realised were damp.
“That’s enough.” Though spoken softly you know it’s an order.
You feel disconnected from your body when you met his gaze with a smile that looks more like a grimace and brush away a strand of hair with a shaking hand.
“L.T.” You say, straightening up in an attempt to snap out of what ever dissociative state you’ve fallen into. “How can I help you?”
The man in front of you frowns, stepping forwards. You can barely focus enough to track his movements and jolt as he takes your wrist in his hand.
“Oh!” You force out a laugh when you finally register his interest in your bruised and bloody hand. “Must’ve forgotten to wrap ‘em.”
He doesn’t reply and instead reaches for your other hand, angling both towards the light so he can see better.
You swallow tightly when the mess is illuminated and the distant throb in your knuckles suddenly becomes sharp. You can’t help the gasp that leaves your lips as the Lieutenant wipes some of the blood away with his sleeve.
Finally he looks up, blond brows creased and eyes inquisitive.
“You’ve damn near broken your knuckles.”
You open your mouth to reply but nothing comes out; your bottom lip finds it’s way between your teeth and you settle on chewing it instead. You blink rapidly and break free of his oppressive gaze.
Ghost sighs, sensing he won’t get much out of you now. Ever the observer.
✧˚ · .
He doesn’t release his grip on your wrist, tugging you out of the gym and down the dim halls towards the infirmary.
The section that keeps patients in need of 24/7 care is down a wing to the left, fluorescent lights buzzing. Ghost doesn’t lead you there, however.
Instead he pulls you towards the bases’ clinic and pulls out a key.
Too tired and confused to ask why he has access to the wing, you let him manoeuvre you into sitting on a bed – flicking the light switch along the way.
You watch dazedly as he riffles through a couple of drawers before coming to sit in front of you on a rolling stool.
With a glance up at you, Ghost reaches for a sterile cotton swab, dipping it in antiseptic. He takes your injured hand in his gloved one and with the utmost care, starts to clean the bloody mess, movements delicate and precise.
You wince at the sting but his touch is soothing and his focus on the task unwavering.
“I’m sorry.” You whisper as he pulls out a roll of gauze to wrap the now clean wounds.
Ghost stills his movements, looking up as his brows curl in confusion. “What for?”
Everything. You want to say.
“Lots of things.”
He doesn’t respond immediately, instead blinking and resuming his ministrations. You follow his movements as he expertly winds the bandage around your hands. You know he’s thinking – he doesn’t like to speak without crafting each word carefully in his head.
“I used to use a lighter.” He starts, voice low and soft. He doesn’t elaborate, he doesn’t need to. You’ve seen the burns on his arms, some covered by tattoos – you’ve got a few smileys on your thighs to match. “But I realised – I realised I was just letting them win.”
He swallows and takes in a deep breath before looking up at you, eyes raw and more expressive than you’ve ever seen them.
“There are people out there who want to hurt us – who have hurt us. When we take it into our own hands we do their job for them.”
He watches you for a moment through his pale lashes before standing, softly patting your now bandaged hands and pulling you to your feet.
“Don’t let them win, Rags.”

I find myself really enjoying OSR/NSR systems like Cairn, or Durf, i like that their rules-lite, and have a lot of freedom for player/gm alike but find myself wanting classes with possible class abilities, or similar mechanics, I'm curious if you have any recommendations of that
THEME: Rules-lite Systems with Classes.
Some things to keep in mind: OSR games are stripped down to bare bones because character ingenuity (rather than brute force) is meant to take the forefront. This is why characters don’t usually have class abilities.
What I’m hearing you ask for is something that keeps light rules, in the same way OSR systems do, but still provides a way to differentiate characters from each-other. I don’t know if all of these suggested games can be classed as OSR or NSR, but they require the same amount of creativity to push the game forward.

24XX Tides Will Rise, by Tubatic.
A STORM IS COMING!
The crew finds themselves at a settlement preparing for a huge seasonal storm.  Using mechs like in that one movie with the aliens, or whatever you choose, help prepare the settlement to survive The Storm.
24XX Tides Will Rise is a microgame  / oneshot designed in the style of Jason Tocci's 2400, created for submission to the 24XX Jam.
24XX games are a distillation of OSR games, usually only about two pages or so, with dice that scale up or down in size depending on your character’s situation and aptitude. Your character will usually get a special ability related to their class, career, background, or in this version, Pilot Skill. There’s also a simplified money and gear system that gets you one or two pieces of useful items that are destined to break at some point, in order to reduce whatever harm you take. Tides Will Rise is about preparing your local settlement for an extreme weather event using giant mechs, but 24XX games could happen in nearly any setting, and are almost always deadly for your characters. If you want a quick game that you can learn and get up and running in less than 30 minutes, this is the game for you!
Hexfall, by titanomachyRPG.
You are a hyperpowered being who came into larger-than-life abilities because of a profound cataclysm. Heartbreak. Grief. The depths. Physical, emotional, multidimensional–something unlocked incredible power in you. People like you have many names across Stratus Cay, but the most common is “Diver,” a nickname derived from their affinity for falling through the Rift, either on dangerous jobs or just for fun.
Divers’ abilities run the gamut of even the wildest imaginations, and their extreme power and durability makes many of them reckless thrillseekers. The pay is too good and the thrills too extraordinary to turn down the opportunity to go on a dive.
What will you do, falling soul?
Hexfall uses Caltrop Core, a rules-lite system that requires 3d4 and that’s it. Like many OSR games, it uses a hex map that your characters will navigate as they fall through an inter dimensional space called the Rift, their movements and obstacles determined by the roll of the dice. The characters gain tokens as they fall, which act as player currency that can affect narrative beats or navigation rolls as you play. Finally, there are 12 playbooks that you can choose to represent your character: will you be a resilient Giantborn? A liberating MotherThawed? A masterful Myconaut? Each character playbook comes with special moves that only you can do.
High Magic Lowlives, by Gem Room Games.
High Magic Lowlives is a Post-Dungeon Fantasy Tabletop RPG about wizard school dropouts who get into trouble with the Immortal Aristocracy to make coin and build their #brand. Like old school RPGs this is a game about a crew of weirdos finding subterranean vaults filled with treasure, kicking down doors, beating up guards, setting off traps, and taking home as much coin as you can carry. Like new school RPGs the mechanics are simple, drive the story forward, and don't rely on a ton of preparation in advance.
Unlike any RPG you've ever played before you can get paid for livestreaming your fight against the jack-o-lantern queen of zabraxas. Your companions would probably prefer you help them survive the fight, but they'll forgive you when you capture their critical hit for all to see.
High Magic Lowlives uses a ruleset that is a combination of Powered by the Apocalypse, Forged in the Dark, and the Black Hack. Your lowlife has 6 attributes, which could range from 0 to 3. Each character also selects a General Deal, which grants you a special ability, such as access the local library, sweet-talk computers, or gather food in unlikely places. Similar to OSR games, there are tables and tables of items that you can use for conventional and non-conventional uses, and, in step with PbtA mechanics, there are graded levels of success when it comes to hitting things with a weapon. You also have Risk Dice, which deteriorate as you use them, lending the feeling of dwindling resources as you play. If you want a game of high risk, high reward, I recommend High Magic Lowlives!
Aetherway, by Jason Tocci.
Hit the road between worlds with a black cat, a clockwork assassin, a fallen star, and a pilgrim who huffs the ashes of a dead saint. Deliver lumber to communist skeletons living on the back of a gargantuan crab. Ride a comet to a party in the skull of a cosmic god that was converted to condos.
Aetherway is a quirky, planet-hopping RPG zine, compatible with both Tunnel Goons and Troika! Use it to improvise your own adventures, as set of extra Troika! backgrounds, as a conversion guide between Troika! and Tunnel Goons rules, or a bunch of random generators for any other game of planeswalking hijinks.
This is mostly another chance for me to talk about Troika again, because it’s a) a really funky setting, and b) a game that borrows a lot of elements from OSR-style games. You have random roll tables, backgrounds that give your characters skills and abilities, and an initiative order that leaves everything up to chance. However, you can also use Aetherway to play Tunnel Goons, which is a rules-lite game that contains much of the hallmarks of OSR.
Planet Dungeon, by Nathan Lathroum.
Ever since birth, the dungeon is all you’ve ever known. All you’ve ever seen. All you were ever meant to see. Who built the dungeon? Is there anything beyond it? How long has the world been trapped here? You can almost smell the fresh outside air. You can almost feel the heat of the sun. You can almost taste victory. But your journey is not over yet.
Ten floors of the dungeon remain. This is all that stands between you and the mythical surface of the Aboveworld. Does it truly exist, or is it merely legend? Is there still a world beyond these walls?
Planet Dungeon is a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) designed for 3 to 5 players. This book contains all of the rules, systems, and mechanics you will need to play. Additionally, Planet Dungeon requires two regular dice for each player and a singular deck of playing cards. Be warned: Planet Dungeon is not easy, and is intended for players willing to lose.
This game uses 2d6 and a deck of playing cards. As a table, you will create the planet you live on, and select backgrounds for your characters. Each background carries with it a pre-determined set of stats and a unique ability - including the Wretched, which starts woefully bereft of any ability, but has the chance to level up dramatically the first time you reach a boss in any given session. The rooms of each dungeon are determined by a card pulled from the deck, with the suit determining the type of the room. Cards also describe your death, should it happen, as well as what the end of the story looks like, once you escape. If you like simple rules and overwhelming odds, this might be worth checking out.
Lost Eons, by David Blandy.
LOST EONS is solarpunk sci-fantasy. In Lost Eons you will emerge from the darkness into a new light, one dominated by inscrutable and terrible forces you must seek to understand. Using this guide create a post-human character, ready to face the mysteries and dangers of a far future Earth.
LOST EONS is a fast but deep toolkit. Play instant no-prep one-shots and sustained campaigns. Discover beautiful and horrifying new adventures through evocative prompts and procedural generation. This game is no-maths and instantly playable. Mashing together 24XX and Blades in the Dark, gameplay is streamlined, flexible, fast and potentially brutal. Level-up through mutation, your body changing as you evolve. Character Playbooks let you create a character in seconds, yet have limitless customisation through play.
LOST EONS uses all of the basic dice types to tackle obstacles, depending on what you’re doing and what piece of equipment you use to help you. Like Blades in the Dark, this game uses clocks to track consequences, health and adventures, while similar to the grit of dungeon-delving games, the characters find their inventory slowly dwindling the longer they adventure. Survival is difficult in this post-human future. At character creation, you choose one of six different archetypes that will give you a set of skills and a unique talent. If you’re looking for new approaches to play while holding on to some of the tone of OSR games, LOST EONS may be a good fit for you.

Nyuvwira
Tumblr media
Image © @a-book-of-creatures, accessed at A Book of Creatures here
[The nyuvwira is a monster from Malawi, and one that I’ve wanted to do ever since A Book of Creatures first posted about it. But it slipped through the cracks and out of mind until was considering the World Tour theme block. I knew I wanted to cover this once I got to Africa.]
Nyuvwira CR 17 CN Magical Beast This enormous serpent is the size of a building. It has eight heads, all clustered together on short necks, and the air around it crackles with ozone.
A nyuvwira is a serpentine monster that lives deep underground, where it gathers and protects the riches of the earth. They eat both metal and gemstones, which combine in their bodies to form powerful electrical currents that serve the nyuvwira as both offense and defense. They are covetous and selfish, dangerous to miners and travelers underground, but not necessarily evil. They value interesting metals and minerals more than they do flesh, and so may be bribed to pass through their domains safely.
The bite of a nyuvwira is relatively weak for a creature of its size, but the fact that it has eight sets of jaws, each of which carries lethal venom, makes their relatively low physical strength less of a liability. Creatures that try to fight back find their strikes repelled by a field of static electricity, which can be enhanced to a deadly shock in short pulses. This field can be focused further into a terrible weapon, capable of striking with electric death from afar. It cannot use this chain lightning indefinitely, and so may retreat if it manages to use it for the day without a decisive finish to the combat.
Much of a nyuvwira’s treasure is found in its bones, organs and scales, the gemstones and conductive metals incorporated into its body. A nyuvwira is usually found with a standard treasure value for its CR in coins, metal objects and gemstones, with another standard treasure value for its CR in its tissues, salvageable with a successful DC 25 Survival check and 1d4+1 hours of work.

That target takes 21d6 points of electricity damage (Reflex DC 26 halves), and then the lightning arcs to strike up to 8 additional targets, all of whom must be within 30 feet of the initial target. These secondary targets take 21d6 points of electricity damage as well (Reflex DC 24 halves). A nyuvwira can use this ability three times per day, and must wait 1d4 rounds between uses. The save DC is Constitution based. Multiheaded Reflexes (Ex) A nyuvwira gains Combat Reflexes as a bonus feat, and can make eight attacks of opportunity per round—one for each head. Poison (Ex) Injury—bite; save Fort DC 26; duration 1/round for 2 rounds; effect 1d4 Con damage; cure 1 save. The save DC is Constitution based. Static Shield (Su) A nyuvwira is surrounded by a protective electrical field that sheds light as a torch and grants it a deflection bonus to its AC and CMD equal to its Constitution modifier. As an immediate action once per round, a nyuvwira can cause the shield to pulse with electricity when struck in melee, dealing 10d6 points of electricity damage to the creature that struck it (Reflex DC 26 negates). A nyuvwira can deactivate or resume its static shield as a move action.

The early morning light filters through the trees and casts striae of gold across the grass. The picture it paints of the sprawling field between the Meeting Hall and the forest’s edge is so beautiful that Anton feels as if he's been transported elsewhere. There is no way, he thinks, that they died under the endless black of last night’s sky and not this swirling sunrise of peaches and whiting-out indigo.

"Catching Fire", Chapter 10
Part 2: The Quell
Chapter 10: Katniss meets Bonnie and Twill. They believe District 13 still exists. Bonnie reminds Katniss of Rue. She gives them food and tries to teach them about the woods. As she heads home she only just notices that the electric fence around District 12 has been turned on.
Thoughts:
-- I haven't found a lot of fan art of Bonnie and Twill and I would like all the talented Peeta and morphlings-types among you to consider working on that.
-- I like that the people of District 8 put the mockingjay in bread because Peeta represents bread and Katniss is the mockingjay. I just like when he is included lol. It's also clever that you can just eat it if Peacekeepers are coming to hide the evidence. I am picturing Communion wafers, so there might be some religious symbolism too.
-- One thing I have been thinking about is how Snow says his family's wealth was in District 13. Of course he doesn't know District 13 is still around, he is just an Academy student. But when does he learn? Does he feel the need to get 13 back? He has a lot of ideas about what he is entitled to as a Snow.
Quotes:
And suddenly I hate this imaginary underground city of District 13 and those who sit by, watching us die. They're no better than the Capitol.
Almost like two sides of the same coin or something!
Mockingjays are about as rare as rocks. And about as tough. If they could survive the initial bombing of 13, they're probably doing better than ever now.
I like the idea that mockingjays are tough. They are survivors, like Katniss.
She's got a weapon that if necessary can convert solar energy into deadly rays of power, so that could last indefinitely
It makes no sense to me that the Capitol has mastered renwable solar power but still needs coal? I would think they just like making the people of 12 go into the mines except here Katniss mentions District 8 not having coal during the Uprising as being a problem.
President Snow has been playing me for a fool. All the kisses and endearments in the world couldn't have derailed the momentum building up in District 8. Yes, my holding out the berries had been the spark, but I had no way to control the fire. He must have known that. So why visit my home, why order me to persuade the crowd of my love for Peeta?
I wonder about this too. I think mostly he was trying to keep her busy chasing her own tail, so she doesn't make things worse. But I also wonder if he sees himself in Peeta (blonde hair, "lovely boy" per the films) and sees Lucy Gray in Katniss. And he's like a little girl making the two dolls kiss or something. (I tend to lean toward the theory that Peeta is more similar to Lucy Gray than Katniss, but I can't imagine that's how Snow sees the situation since all of his focus has been on her.)

15 Days of Freyja Devotion
Tumblr media
Day 12: Aesthetics you associate with this deity
I'm not huge on aesthetics, but I associate Freyja with beauty, sensuality, and luxury. I see her in art that features women and femmes being sexy, confident, and comfortable. I see her as someone who enjoys the finer things in life and enjoys being surrounded by finery. She's definitely the type to sip champagne in expensive lingerie.
On the other hand, I also associate her with art that depicts women and femmes as dangerous. I see her in all depictions of the monstrous feminine. I see her in fictional women who are deadly. I think of her and I think of that one quote that I think originally comes from a Black Widow comic: "Wolves and girls. Both have sharp teeth."
I don't see these sides of her as contradictory, but as two sides of the same coin.

Inu-Mothership Spotlight Saturday: November 12, 2022: Jinenji!
Hello everyone! We at @inu-mothership are especially pleased to bring you this week's Spotlight Saturday fic rec list. This week our members voted, and chose Jinenji!
Jinenji has a special place in many of our hearts as the kind-hearted herbalist who Inuyasha and Kagome befriend early on in the series. He's often portrayed as their friend, but Jinenji gets his share of romantic stories, too!
As always with our character rec lists, we've organized it into two groups, both listed below the cut. First is the section dedicated to Jinenji-specific ship stories (if there's another ship featured prominently, we've included that, too). Then, we present the section dedicated to Gen fics/fics where Jinenji is featured prominently, but not as part of a major ship. We had fun with this one, and hope you find some new stories to enjoy!

Night Watch (T; ongoing) by @superpixie42
Inuyasha always assumed all hanyou were like him: one human parent, one demon parent, new moon transformation, life of suffering. But during the three years the well is closed, he learns more about his fellow hanyou than he ever expected.

HOMILY for the Immaculate Conception
Genesis 3:9-15,20; Ps 97; Ephesians 1:3-6,11-12; Luke 1:26-38
Tumblr media
There’s a certain irony that Eve means ‘mother of all that live’. In a physical, biological sense, that is true. But in a deeper metaphysical sense, her sin is the cause of our spiritual death. Mankind had initially been created in friendship with God, and so, had access to eternal Life. But because of the original sin of Adam and Eve, mankind turned inward on himself, selfishly navel-gazing. In the imagery of Genesis, man becomes aware of his nakedness. And Adam hid from God, so humankind rejected God’s friendship, and became lost to God. So that God had to say “Where are you”, for God cannot force himself on to us; we have to be open to him. And finally, Eve had trusted in the promises of the serpent, a mere creature, rather than in the Word of the loving and beneficent Creator. And this, of course is the lasting effect of original sin: that we trust in ourselves, place our hope in created things, and find it hard to trust in God, and believe in his wisdom and his promises. So, under the reign of sin, we befriend the serpent rather at God, and are at enmity with the Lord.
Our Lady overturns the situation, so that, in the words of the Marian hymn that we sing at Vespers, she changes the curse of Eve, ‘Eva’, by her ‘Yes’ to the angel’s ‘Ave’. For Mary trusts completely in God’s promises, she is opened up and outwards in love to God’s plan. Her life is turned upside down by Gabriel’s message, but still she gives herself completely to God’s Word. In fact, she is so open to God’s Word that the Word becomes flesh and dwells in her womb; she is thus the true Ark of the Covenant, the living Temple of God. Completely turned away from sin and the deception of the ancient Enemy of mankind, Mary is, as Genesis foretold, the one who is at enmity with the Serpent – through her comes his decisive defeat. The demons, therefore, tremble at her name, and so every ‘Hail Mary’ that we say, especially in the Rosary, is like a battering ram that weakens the stronghold of the Enemy.
Henceforth, Mary is truly the “Mother of all that live”, because through her ‘Yes’ to God’s plan, salvation had come to the world, Mankind is restored to friendship with God, and we are set free from sin and it deadly effects. For through her comes Life itself, Jesus Christ.
All this is possible by the power and working of God’s grace. For it is by grace that Mary said ‘Yes’ to God’s plan of salvation, and God providence for Man’s redemption in Christ is so complete that he even prepares the Mother of the Redeemer for her role, giving her “prevenient grace”, as the Collect says today, namely, a grace that comes beforehand. God, as it were, anticipates the salvation that is won for all humanity by Christ, and so he prepares Mary from the moment of her conception by uniquely filling her with grace, with God’s own activity and saving presence. It is fitting, of course, that Christ, the second Adam who inaugurates a new creation by his Resurrection and his grace, a world freed from corruption and sin, should thus be born of the second Eve, the true “Mother of all that live.”
So, in St Luke’s Gospel, when the angel Gabriel says Mary is “full of grace”, in fact the Greek word he coins – and it only appears here in the whole corpus of Greek literature – ‘kecharitomene’ has the fuller sense that Mary had already been transformed and perfected by grace, a prevenient grace. So, from the moment of her conception, this grace had been at work, preserving Mary from the distrustful and destructive effects of original sin, and from any susceptibility to sin. Because God had chosen her to be “holy and blameless before him”, he had destined her “in love to be his [daughter] through Jesus Christ”, he had chosen her in an act of divine predilection to be Theotokos, the Mother of God, the Bearer of Life himself. The grace of Mary’s preservation from sin, then, comes through Jesus, and because of Jesus, who as the eternal Son of God, will redeem all humanity including his human mother.
But Jesus has also given Mary to the Church, to all the Baptised, and so she is also  our Mother. Hence what is said about her can also, albeit in a lesser degree, be said about us, who have been redeemed by Christ, and who, through baptism, are conceived, so to speak, free from sin in the womb of Holy Mother Church. Reborn of water and the Spirit, you and I are destined, gradually, to become holy like our mother Mary is from the first moment of her physical conception. For from the first moment of our baptism, God’s grace has been at work in our lives to cause us to trust God and reject the lies of the ancient Serpent; God’s grace moves us from within to walk in God’s ways, so that as we turn away from our old habits and former ways of thinking and doing, we too can say ‘Yes’ each day to God as Mary did from the moment of her conception.
Last Sunday, I baptised two children, our youngest parishioners, and I always look at our newly-baptised and I can truly say that I am looking into the faces of two Saints. For that is who we are, and that is how we should remain, freed from sin by God’s grace, so that we shall truly be Saints. The Baptismal Liturgy thus reminds us that we should keep ourselves unstained by sin by walking always in the light of Christ’s grace. Our Lady did so, and so we ask her to help us and protect us from sin. As St Maximilian Kolbe said: “The Immaculata descends on earth as a good Mother among her children, to help them save their souls. Thus, she desires the conversion and sanctification of all souls, without exception… Most often, she urges the children who love her to cooperate with her in situations of normal everyday life. These same souls consecrated to her, live by her, often think of her, love her wholeheartedly, and endeavour to discern her desires.”
Therefore let us entrust ourselves to Jesus through Mary, and ask the Immaculate Virgin, our Mother, to teach us to love her better. As we are gathered here today in this Marian sanctuary, and in this church which was raised up to honour the Immaculate Conception who appeared at Lourdes, I suggest that we are already in the right place. All we need to do now is ask: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you”. Amen.

Whirlbones
Tumblr media
“Bone Devil” © Brian Williams
[From the Fighting Fantasy book Trial of Champions. Obviously, “bone devil” is taken in D&D and its derivative properties; I had to come up with a different name. The original didn’t actually have any wind based abilities, which seemed a shame. So I added some.]
Whirlbones CR 5 CE Undead This creature is a skeleton, held in shape but only partly articulated, in a column of swirling wind. Small twisters emerge from its eye sockets, and its bones rattle together in the gusts.
A whirlbones is a malevolent undead created when a mortal is killed by the wind. This could include victims of hurricanes or tornadoes, those that shipwrecked in windstorms, or those that were pushed to their death by mundane or magical gusts. Whirlbones hunger for the hearts of their victims, and hunt living prey, preferring sapient victims. They can be found anywhere, although are more common in areas of high wind.
A whirlbones at rest resembles a mere pile of skeletal remains, and they often lay quiescent in order to ambush prey. When they spring to life, their gaze can paralyze their victims, and the whirlbones can get down to the business of feasting on hearts. If a whirlbones is unable to paralyze all its foes, it relies on hit and run attacks, maintaining as much distance as it can while blasting away with hammering gusts of wind. They are smart enough to use their wind blasts to push enemies into hazards or over ledges if these are present in the terrain.
Whirlbones have little use for treasure, except as bait for curious victims. They prefer small items, like coins or gems, that they can carry easily from one place to another. Whirlbones rarely remain in one place for long, unless they are commanded by a spellcaster to serve as a guardian. They resent such treatment, and more than one necromancer has been killed by their whirlbones minions after getting careless.
Whirlbones        CR 5 XP 1,600 CE Medium undead (air) Init +4; Senses darkvision 60 ft., Perception +12 Defense AC 18, touch 14, flat-footed 14 (+4 Dex, +4 natural) hp 52 (8d8+16) Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +7 DR 10/bludgeoning; Immune cold, electricity Defensive Abilities cloak of winds Offense Speed 30 ft., fly 50 ft. Rays or oversized projectiles (such as a catapult shot) do not suffer this miss chance. A whirlbones is not affected by magical or mundane wind effects, and can fly in even tornado-force winds without penalty. A control winds effect can suppress this ability for its duration, if the caster succeeds in a caster level check against the whirlbones’ Hit Dice. Gaze (Su) Range 30 ft.; save Will DC 16; effect paralyzed 1d4+1 rounds. A creature paralyzed by a whirlbones’ gaze may attempt to make another Will save each round as a full round action to shake off the effect. The save DC is Charisma based. Wind Blast (Su) As a standard action, a whirlbones can fire a gust of wind at a target within 60 feet. Treat this as a ranged attack. A creature struck takes 4d6 points of bludgeoning damage plus the whirlbones’ Charisma modifier, and must succeed a DC 16 Fortitude save or be knocked prone and pushed back 5 feet. The save DC is Constitution based.

I wish we had gotten more views on the Hunters of Artemis, what their day-to-day was like, how they viewed Artemis (We know probably positively but I wanna know more specifics)
Also I really want Will's plague powers to be explored past that one moment in tsats. I do really enjoy how his powers are kinda two sides of the same coin (healing and plagues) which is cool
I WANNA SEE. APOLLO HANG OUT WITH HIS KIDS
I think that. Annabeth feels a little annoying in the first part of the Lightning Thief. She gets better after she stops hating Percy bc his dad is Poseidon and she's also 12 so idk just smth I kinda noticed
SPEAKING OF WHICH?? THEY'RE 12??? I DIDNT REALIZE IT WHEN I WAS A KID BUT THESE FUCKERS SHOULDNT BE RUNNING AROUND DYING AND SLAYING MONSTERS?
Also it's so funny how little supervision they're given. Ah yes, a bunch of ADHD kids in a forest at night with LITERAL GOD-LIKE POWERS and deadly Greek weapons for capture the flag. So funny
I WANT MORE CAPTURE THE FLAG. I LOVED THE IDEA OF CAPTURE THE FLAG AT CAMP I WANNA SEE IT MOREEE

Crunhy sank my cost IceQueendom Blog S1E5
Ill be honest, i didnt mention it the first time because i hoped they would grow on me but the knotted-dolls are just sort of weird. Like it seems like Shion’s aesthetic just threw a bunch of vaguely “arcane” iconographies together and they dont quite stick. Like we’ve got the hat, the voodoo doll,  I’d be willing to forgive the dreamcathcer on its own for being thematically apropriate (despite probably being apropriation) but putting it all together its a bit much. So yeah that deadly stab was a fakeout. From this point onwards i will refer to !Evil!Dream weiss as negative!Weiss, following Ozpins advice, and apologise if i flub it in advance, Turns out Im not the first to flub, maybe Ozpin should’ve asked Shion (the specialist) wether proper jargon existed instead of inventing it on the spot. Small argument as to who goes next, They cant go together because Group Stealthchecks Suck. JNPR is here now, they stand around a bit talking. Jaune wants to take Weiss’ place and Pyrha has a look. Turns out operation Group Stealth is a go anyway? Dream!Blake is wearing only half-a-bow. Yang gets her motorcycle back. Ruby points out her weapons differences, prompting Blake and Yang to do a quick inspection. Blakes ribbon is now infinity-long, Yangs punches are now much bigger. Ok we have a clear count on our coinage now. 12 coins total. Ok so the train establishes something: Re-entering the dream restarts the dream from the beginning. This feels like something the show is about to get verry inconsistent about when it will inevitably have Negative!Weiss remember previous dreams’ interactions with the RBY The phones can call eachother. Good check Yang.  I am probably going to refer to different “instances” of the dream as “loops” because it might as well be a timeloop plot for all that matters, and it varies up the lexicon when everything has “dream” in front of it otherwise. Only Shion’s “influence” remains between dreams (mostly doors). Yang sees a shop that sells streetsigns. Blake spots a portal in a frozen waterfeature. Dream!pyrha sings Weiss’ signature song (because weiss likes to project herself on her girlcrush) Blake’s semblance to bypass the need for a coin. So weiss has a white relic on ice, and a red one in rubys? bed (im 90% certain ruby has top bunk?) Also there is a second confusion-tangle in the top bunk. One at the train and one here, i think they represent the locations Negative!Weiss thinks her teammates “belong”? Relics are key-mcguffins. Blake can pick locks. SleepyKlein doesnt wake from this. Wait “leave a breadcrumb” is now made to be something differnt from the coin-based doorportals. I have not seen anything else that the breadcrumbs could be. Blake made crucial discoveries regarding a door underground, but they happened off-screen. Ruby makes an educated guess that, because there are 2 relics IRL there must be 2 here, and because the Red Relic was where Ruby and Yang are supposed to be, the second must be where Blake belongs. (it isnt, its on ice with Negative!Weiss, because Weiss does not consider blake a teammate) Negative!Weiss teleports to the place Ruby and Blake went without any seeming reason to know they’re there. (she also makes a racist comment about how “in her world there are no faunus” with an implication of a sort of dream-genocide.)

These greatest hypocritical Messianic Jews created the Temple malpractic... These greatest hypocritical Messianic Jews created the Temple malpractices fulfilling Matt 12v43-45. https://youtu.be/9lDph_XwcR4 Mark 12v1-12:- The Last Parable of Jesus; Winepress = Temple and the Husbandmen = The Temple Priests who had become greedy and evil-spirited. GOSPEL IS CALLED “LOGO” AND LOGO IS THE EXTRACT/NECTAR OF “LOGICAL REASONING” – SATGUR PARSAD. Once-born people are incapable of logical reasoning and, therefore, the logo is for the twice-born people of discerning intellect called the “holy spirit”, surtti or “common sense”. So, if you want Gospel, you must think logically over your heart. Thus, listen to everyone and ponder over it logically in your own heart. Then, Gospel would be written over the living tablets of the heart – 2corn 3. Scriptures, the dead letters are “deadly poison” to Gospel. The Scriptures, the moral laws, boost your "ego" whilst, in the Gospel, you bury the "Ego" and go by His Will. Scriptures, the “dead letters” that the once-born people are taught in the universities and colleges, are “old wines” or “milk for the babies”. This is the Jewish leaven which Jesus forbade. The twice-born people of “discerning intellect” are like the “birds of the air” that have very sharp memory helping people in “logical reasoning” to brew the “New Wine Logo” within their own hearts. For this, you need to be “impartial and unbiased” like the little children. Thus, you do not need to go to a university to fill your skin with old wine but the heart of the illiterate shepherd longing for the “Gospel Treasures”. University degrees in “dead letters” will turn you into a super donkey carrying “Holy Books”. “Letter killeth, the spirit giveth Life”. Thus, two men well versed in the Scriptures passed by the wounded person whilst an illiterate Samaritan of heart looked after the person. Typical Youtube Video on Son of God:- Son represents Father, so in Jesus, we are Elohim's sons and should display His qualities for Salvation. https://youtu.be/dQ8pSqeFjQw Natural bastards versus supernatural Bastards. Holy Gospel of our Supernatural Father Elohim, Allah, Parbrahm, etc. delivered by the First anointed Christ, which in Punjabi we call “Satguru” Jesus according to Saint Mark 12:1-12. Jesus began to speak to the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders in parables. "A man, our Supernatural Father of our "souls" planted a vineyard, a University of Theology to coin the Moral Laws, the Scriptures based upon "His Word" as the "Tap Root" of the Tree of Life, put a hedge around it as the Churches belong to the ecclesiastical world, dug a wine press, established a University of Theology and built a tower, Spire", as a symbol. Then he leased it to tenant farmers, the Temple Rabbis and left on a journey. At the proper time, he sent a servant, a Prophet to the tenants to obtain from them some of the produce of the vineyard. But they seized him, beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. Again he sent them another servant, another Prophet. And that one they beat over the head and treated shamefully. He sent yet another whom they killed. So, too, many others, the Samaritans, a Nation of Prophets; some they beat, others they killed. John, the Baptist was the Last Prophet and they threw him out. Through Harrods, they killed him. He had one other to send, a beloved Son, the Christ, Lord of the Sabbath. He sent him to them last of all when they had created utter Darkness before destroying the Winepress, thinking, 'They will honour my son.' But those twice-born evil-spirited hypocrite tenants, the Temple Priests said to one another, 'This is the heir. That is, they being clever twice-born knew that Jesus is the Messiah, which the once-born Nicodemus recognised, Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' So they seized, killed, and threw him out of the vineyard. What (then) will the owner of the vineyard of our Supernatural Father to whom the Holiest of Holy belonged, do? He will come, put the tenants to death, and give the vineyard to others. This Holiest of Holy is in the Punjab, Amritsar but what gold has to do with God? Or it is highly corrupted. Have you not read this scripture passage: 'The stone that the builders, the sons of Man for whom is this Temple for the worship of Yahweh rejected, the Tares, Brood of Vipers have become the cornerstone or the Temple High Priest; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes'?" They were seeking to arrest him, but they feared the crowd, which included influential tax collectors for they realized that he had addressed the parable to them. So they left him and went away. These sacked Temple Priests became Messianic Jews to fulfil Matt 12v43-45 killing the Apostles. My ebook by Kindle.
