Considering making a law of assumption based app because i havenāt seen one yet (more info below)
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS A GOOD IDEA THAT WILL BE HELPFUL TO YOU
so if my notion and subliminal requests are helpful i might make a law of assumption based app or website early 2025. Why? Because all of the manifestation apps are law of attraction based, and while there are similarities these apps give to much power to techniques, the outer reality, and limitations such as ādivine timingā and āneeding to overcome struggles with false positivity)
It will include weekly lessons (I have been in touch with relatively popular and well respected ācoachesā and YouTubers I will also be adding the science lessons), custom affirmations, custom subliminals 5 minutes or less, vision board maker, all for free
The only in app payments would be for subliminal requests over 5 minutes and community membership to interact with like minded individuals.

I'm a beginner in app development, and I created this trashy notes app :) the colors are jarring because I was focusing more on functionality than appearance. This is pretty good for a beginner level ig?

Not sure where to ask this, so im posting here as well as some forums BUT:
Basically I really love using Figma for making interactive menus. I have used Figma for mocking up websites and mobile apps before at my job, and in my odd time Iāve taken to using figma to prototype and make sketches of things like UI and flowcharts for the game my friends and I are developing. And even more recently I prototyped a fully custom, nice-looking, interactive character sheet for my character in the current campaign im playing.
Now, Itās got me thinking: I would really, really love to build custom character sheets for people as a side job as its something i genuinely enjoy doing. But the problem is, figma will not exist forever and I have foreseen that it might be a pain to build someone a prototype and I am the sole person to make updates whenever their character levels, they get new gear etc and I donāt really like the idea of forcing people to make an account for a tool they wont want to learn or use outside of the prototype i send them. Additionally, Figma prototype is ultimately not ideal for more distinguished and specific character sheets as Iād like for it to be.
For example, I would love to make buttons that a user can tap to mark how many death saves they have succeeded or failed, I want the user to be able to mark for inspiration and conditions, etc. I know I could possibly feasibly make it work all inside one scrollable frame, but the way I prefer to set up the character sheets requires navigating to different frames with buttons.
What other good alternatives are there? I like to make these character sheets for mobile use (phones and tablets) so should I jump to app development? I donāt mind learning new or more complicated softwares, just as long as the software is free, thereās a free trial long enough for me to learn the gist of the software, a single larger purchase for a license for a good amount of features, or the cost for subscription is low. Is Godot a good software to use for this? My team is learning godot anyway for our game as we were discouraged from Unreal Engine.

I've advanced quite a bit with my final project, my app is functional and it's all coming together thanks to creating several, detailed diagrams where I documented everything I'll develop (case use, relationship-entity, classes etc.). What remains is to connect the front and backend properly.
Despite the ok advancement, I'm becoming anxious. I've yet to make the video presentation and add all documentation in the thesis. I just want to finish this, it's quite stressful (as expected lol)

3/10/2025 - B-Sides Progress
Goal: start putting together the music journal in Godot
Notes: I had so much trouble with importing the Flutter package into VSCode that I had to switch to a whole other way to code this project. Off to a great start!
Reflection: I'm writing this reflection a week later, but I think godot is definitely giving me a lot more room to do what I need to. I have some basic UI right now that I need to write some code for, and then the "journal" section will be done. All in all, I'm optomistic.

Check-in for 01/28/24
It's been a while since I did one of these. Time to remedy that!
I've been doing well in my assignments, but due to some registration issues at the start of the semester I was unable to sign up for any web development or programming classes :< It's nice to take a break, but I'm really worried about getting stagnant in those skills, and maybe even losing what I've learned over time.
This is where a couple of new projects come in: A blorbo database and a tool for drawing pokemon from memory. These things are going to keep me avoid stagnancy and help me develop my web dev and Python programming skills, and I'm real excited to talk about them.
First up, let's talk about that tool for drawing pokemon from memory. I love drawing pokemon from memory, but it's a bit of a struggle to find tools online that work well for a solo experience when you're doing this challenge alone. So I made a program in PyGame to solve this problem, and I've actually already completed it! It was a great learning experience when it came to getting a taste of APIs, and PokeAPI really helped me do all the heavy lifting with it. I also ended up using ChatGPT to help me understand how to phrase my questions and the things I needed to research. This is the end result:
If you click "Get Random Pokemon", the program will provide a pokemon's name. The point of it is to draw the pokemon as best as you remember it, and then click "Show Pokemon Image" to see how you did. You will then have the option to get a new random pokemon, which clears the image from the window.
There's a lot of stuff I don't understand about how the program works--- APIs evade my understanding, and Tkinter is a dark art beyond my comprehension. But I was able to make a program that solved a genuine problem for me for the first time, and that's super exciting to me!
Now, for web development--- long story short, I'm making a website dedicated to cataloguing my OCs that's very much inspired by tumblr user @snekkerdoodles's personal site on neocities, which I regularly stare at in an effort to motivate myself to make cool things like it (everyone reading this should check his page out IMMEDIATELY and tell him how cool it is). Here's the screenshots of the WIP I'm chipping away at right now:
I don't have much to say about it, as the interesting stuff will really be the content of the pages, and I still have yet to finish the template page I'll be filling with my OCs' information. However, I can say that I'm very upset with the lack of proper teaching that took place in the first (and currently only) college web dev class I've taken. I spent an entire semester doing my own research to learn everything they were supposed to be teaching us. I'm still very peeved about that.
To summarize this very rambling post I'm too sleepy to edit properly, I'm making a digital blorbo encyclopedia, and I finished making a little desktop app thingy, which means I need to summon a new programming project. I'm tempted to make it a video game... maybe I should turn back to that visual novel idea I had ages ago and boot up RenPy!

App idea
..in the making (very very small idea still have no clue where to ask or speak about it so tumber)
I'm gonna pretty much ramble a little in this post probably, but i need to post it somewhere and I don't have a clue where to start so tumblr it is.
the thought process ive had for the last..month, on and off mind you cause i have shit to do sadly, is this.
Wanted a way to make an annotated book with friends.
Shipping a book back and forth while so much cooler then maybe using an online app is expensive and hard for long distance (aka other countries friendships)
failed to find an online app for reading the same thing together online and mark it up with comments and stuff.
remembered old wattpad comments on the chapters where you could comment on a paragraph not just at the end of the chapter.
would be cool if someone could make something like that for books/fanfics/og writing/etc.
what if i made app *insert pepeomg emoji*
I don't know code...
scan the web for easy app making. no success without money.
give up.
remember the idea two weeks later.
and here we are
pretty much id like thoughts and idk ideas? cause while i have a lot of them i dont know the first thing about app making/coding and i feel like doing it alone might end up with me just giving up...
BUT can you imagine?! an app like old wattpad and maybe even ao3 or even book books either one sounds nice to just goof off with others also reading it?? or even just finding fans of your type of reading? making silly keyboard spams on a to mich fluff scene?! and maybe I'm weird and crave community a lot but as cool as a lot of reading apps are..most of them have either started to go down hill or there's not much community in the place itself? or its un welcoming almost? which can be a good thing dont get me wrong sometimes you can't welcome everyone to keep a place safe but..i was a huge wattpad, goodreads, and even amino user. and while tumblr and other sites alike are cool! It's hard to find welcoming places.. from my experience. idk im in search for people wanting to make something i guess.. (i totally got off topic-)
if you have any ideas or questions I'll try to answer them but it's a working progress lol

FlipaClip premiumed itās shit now itās a fucking supcription service, I got the one time payment before the switch but my friends didnāt so it just grinds my fucking gears
Something is genuinely want to do if I had any knowledge on organization or app design is to put together a team of programmers/app-maker-people and make like an entirely free free animation/art program that has all the stuff but with tutorials and a simplified layout
Idk how realistic it could be but we could get money from kofi/patreon stuff maybe and like Iād want to optimize it as much as possible too and be accessible on as many different softwares like Iād want this shit to run on a CALCULATOR/j
Again itās just a bit of a silly idea that may not be achievable at all I donāt know anything about programming but a guy can dream
Though any programmers/app designers here Iād really like to hear your thoughts/critiques please as long as they remain in good faith and respectful!
