i was inspired by HBR's "energy crisis" checklist but i wanted something more positive and affirming 🥰 so i ripped the thing apart and put it back together with (self) love 💕

bonus tip: don't try to incorporate too many new habits at once! start with just one or two and once you find yourself doing those easily, you can add more!

Show Your Body Some Love 🤗

🛌 I regularly get at least seven to eight hours of sleep, and I often wake up feeling well rested.

I have a strict bedtime, even on the weekends, and start my night routine at least thirty minutes to an hour before.

I follow Best Zesty's night routine. 😉

🍴 I eat a healthy breakfast.

I wake up thirty minutes to an hour before my day actually needs to start so that I have time to prepare food and eat at the table/bar.

I eat fruits/veggies, carbs, protein, and take my supplements.

🏋️‍♀️ I work out enough (at least four sessions a week that are a mix of strength and cardio training).

I follow workout routines that are safe and body-positive.

I consult with a doctor or trainer if necessary.

😌 I take regular breaks during the day to truly renew and recharge, including a relaxing lunch.

I listen to my favorite music.

I go for walks in nature.

but you didn’t say anything thinking that he was probably sleep talking. though, he had never done that previously. a few seconds have passed and you continue your venture trying to lift your heavy body off the bed.

“honey…” in a swift motion, megumi shot up and gently placed his hand on your wrist preventing you from furthering your action.

he proceeds to gently rub your back with his hand. “are you okay?” the genuineness in his eyes and his voice never fails to melt your heart.

“i’m just hungry ‘is all no worries”.

“yes worries what is it that you want i’ll go make it for you”. his soft voice and the genuine look in his eyes is making you all teary eyed.

“a pot—like one of those giant pots, filled with mac & cheese, steamed and chopped broccoli, sliced pickles and sriracha.” you thinned your lips.

“for a second there, i thought you were craving pots.” light chuckles leave both your lips.

“Well I’m technically eating for three. So it wouldn’t be surprising if i ended up eating the pot too.”

“No matter what, I shall protect my little brother so no harm touch him”

The words which he said so proudly as a child, ringed in Indra’s ears. Is this how it should have ended? His one and only brother…dead?

As he looked down he realized that indeed it was their fate no matter what. Ashura was laying on the ground, covered in blood and with a big hole on his chest. Indra killed him with the same lightning jutsu he used to protect him from the boar when they were children.

The older brother kept staring at the body, unable to move for what felt like hours. He could not believe he finally killed Ashura and got his revenge. Though this is what we wanted to do, he did not feel the joy as he thought he would. Instead, Indra felt immense guilt, felt like the worst person in the world. He not only killed his only brother, but also his family: his wife and three kids.

“Ashura….” a small whisper escaped his mouth before he collapsed on the ground, falling on the dead body of his little brother. His body felt heavy, and he could not move any longer. Indra’s eyes closed from tiredness as his consciousness slowly left his body.

He woke up only hours later, drenched in rain, sweat and blood. As he got on his knees, his eyes met with the lifeless body of his brother.

“…..Forgive me Ashura….”

Of course, his words and the guilt he was feeling meant nothing now.

Monster…I am a monster…just as everyone labeled me…

That dark inner voice kept screaming in his head, blaming him for all what had happened. If Indra was not strong willed, he would for sure kill himself right here, to try and get rid of the heavy burden that will chase him all his life.

But he could not do it. Not when his own wife and kids were waiting for him to return back home. Indra casted one final glance at Ashura, a single tear escaping his eye as he turned his back and vanished into the thin air.

Y/n…

He wanted to get home fast. To be in her hands, to cry and tell her he regrets killing his brother. That is the only thing in his mind now. Indra was too exhausted to use his teleportation ability so he had to use the not the fastest way.

Only after a day was he able to get back home. He was exhausted not only from the long way but also from the heavy burden he was carrying in his heart. He felt worse when he thought that he left his body there. But what else could he do? He felt unworthy to touch his body and give him a proper burial. While he was walking towards his house, his thoughts replaying the fight, Y/n came out of the house.

“Babe….!”

Indra heard his wife’s sweet voice and looked at her.

“……Y/n” he whispered.

His wife knew him well enough to understand what had happened. She rushed to him and hugged him hard, crying from joy that her husband returned back alive. Whatever happened at the battlefield was not even important anymore. She has his husband back safely and thats what matters for her.

Indra hugged her back slowly, hiding his face in her shoulder and letting his tears flow freely. They stood like that for some time, allowing their bodies to talk instead of their mouths.

“It is over…he….he is dead…” he finally mumbled.Y/n knew he had the guilt in his heart. After all, he killed his only brother.

“I know it was hard…I know you carry this immense guilt darling…but…don’t blame yourself. You did..what you considered right.” Y/n whispered as she hugged him tighter. She knew he needed this more than anything. Indra was never good at words. He preferred his actions to do the work and Y/n understood it fully.

Indra looked at her, his eyes teary and his sharingan glowing like two precious gems. He knew his wife wanted to help him, and she did many times, but tonight, he did not feel those words were as helpful as before. He wanted to try and forget the scene in front of him however he could not as much as he tried.

“Let’s go inside…I will warm up some water so you can take a bath…come” Y/n softly held his hand, walking to the house. Indra could only follow her silently, hoping to pass the night in her arms, letting his feelings out and hopefully sleeping after months of no sleep.

Flashback - A few weeks ago

It was dark out when the plane landed. Everyone was exhausted and there was very little conversation. Miguel felt like a volcano about to burst and for the last couple of hours, you’ve had this bad feeling stirring in your gut, like something terrible was about to happen.

Amado was first to leave, you said your goodbyes and watched him drive off. After the car vanished in the distance, you turned to Miguel, Azul was up ahead waiting for him, and from the look on his face, you knew he had some bad news.

“I’m going to head home. I’ll see you later.” As you said, studying Miguels eyes.

He was distracted, understandably so. Miguel nodded with tense brows.

"Goodnight Miguel.” You gently touched his shoulder, then walked to your driver.

On the way over, you took a deep breath. Though Miguel's whole plan went to shit, you’re thankful he'll be occupied. The last thing on his mind won't be what you were up to. Maybe you can keep your Pacho secret a little longer.

Howdy! I’ve been following you for 2 or 3 years (started on Instagram then moved here) and your art is always so crisp and clean. Have any secrets to share on how to post pieces at such high quality? I use procreate too but you’ve seemed to mastered it.

and oh boy what a compliment haha, I’ve definitely learned a thing of two over the years but I swear I am still learning new tricks everyday 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

happy to help 😤💪✨first and foremost, I think the most important part of getting your art to look less pixelated boils down to what canvas size you’re using! I do my best to finish my canvases off at 1400x1400 at the very minimum! The larger it is, the more smooth the piece looks—but as of course the larger it is, the less layers you’re able to add :/ I do wish procreate allowed for a greater range but oh well, do your best to keep those layers organized so you can mash em down later✨

I almost always start off each piece using the built-in Screen Size canvas option when starting a new piece (I don’t even toggle with the DPI, which if I remember correctly, is just set to 150 for that canvas) and then I adjust the sizing as needed

here’s a few finishing touches I like to give my pieces to make them look more crisp!

Another thing to note! Take advantage of the noise brush and the noise effect Procreate has! (Noise effect is found under the Magic Wand tool and I believe that the brush lives originally in the pre-set Materials brush pack) Just a bit of noise added to your background can often help the characters stand out from it as well 👍✨

Also! I’ve recently started shading things like the soft curves of muscle or rounded parts of metal using the noise brush to erase to make things look more blended/add some variation to my cel shading

There’s still tons of things I want to try out on procreate as well! I think that for as cheap of an app as it is, there’s a lot of potential to be unlocked and it’s just a matter of finding the right people to show you some tricks

I’ll link a few tiktoks as well that could help out or just add some fun tricks to the art process oml they’re sm better at explaining/showing than I ever could!!

Re: anon who was asking abt rob’s singing: he sings in his role as Dr. Reggie Hughes in the audible drama, getting better: the fight for the nhs. I don’t remember which chapter exactly, but it’s during a scene where he’s at a bar with the female lead and he waxes on about a singer he likes. I would describe his singing voice as cute and pleasant, it’s not very deep but it’s charming.

Also, thank you papa evershed for your amazingly rob content. You have contributed heavily towards fostering my rjc obsession, so I’m holding you culpable 😤💕. I absolutely looove the voice clips you’ve started doing. I don’t know what it is about his voice that fosters such a reaction, it’s so distinctly recognizable, but he also manages to make it subtly unique for each role, as seen in the clips. Major respect for his acting chops. May I humbly request some clips of his voice as Saul Silva in season 2 of Fate? He sounds so much more northern in s2 compared to s1, and I’m living for it. There are also basically 0 clips of him as Saul in s2 online, it’s a travesty! I love how s2 Saul has robs manc accent but with a whumpy, more subdued edge. I would be over the moon if we could have some voice clips of that role, like the scene where he sneaks into Alfea to see sky and says, “I had a close call… I am sorry.” But honestly any time he speaks would be wonderful. Thank you so much!!

I'm going to have to go back and listen to Getting Better again because I don't remember this singing part you mention! 🤓 And now I must go find it. 🕵️‍♀️ I only listened to that one once, while I was playing Animal Crossing, so there's a very real possibility I was distracted during that bit. 😅

As someone that also adores his voice, making clips really is my pleasure. I've said it before and I'll say it 500 more times, but that man could read me the phone book and I'd be captivated. Going back and looking for sound bites was a little upsetting though because it made me realize how little Saul content there was for this season and that should honestly be a damn crime. 😤
