how to welcome your new plush friends!
a care guide for plushies that have just joined your collection 📦🧸

first- give em a good squish! they might be a bit lumpy from the trip in the mail, or you might just wanna fix the face. don't forget to brush the fur out of their eyes and make sure the ears are flipped the right way :3

now- decide if you want to keep the tags or not. there are two types of tags, the price tag and the brand tag. the brand tag is the one you see above ^ usually these are kept on so you know the brand- it also adds a lot to the value of the plush. price tags are normally taken off, but for some rare plushies or expensive brands I would recommend keeping the price tag on to add value! it's of course up to you, and if the tag bothers you when you're cuddling your fuzzy friends, then don't feel bad about cutting it off!

next- check all the seams! your looking for extra string, lose fur/fuzz and any fur that's caught in the seam.

here I found some fur that got caught in the seam, probably when this little guy was being sewn together. I take my mini scissors and softly scrape against the fur to get it out of the seam. you can also take a pencil or something skinny to put under the loop of fur and pull- that should get that fur unstuck!

heres an extra thread I found sticking out of the paw- this is totally fine to cut off!
if your nervous about cutting string, just avoid cutting loops and string with knots on the end. cutting those could unravel the stitching
heres some other examples of things that I trimmed! if there's some fur that's sticking out in a way you don't like, don't be afraid to give em a little hair cut :3
and there you go! your new friend looks spick and span and I'm sure they feel loved and cared for in their new home! 💕

Durant Care/Training Comprehensive Guide
Warning: This is a LONG post. I am taking requests for Pokemon to create guides for. Check this document to see what I've done and what has been requested:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MbFTUIxn33-6GJEnGCISkWlcD1AU1BXwdbhABTgPC7g/edit?usp=sharing
Overview
Classification: Iron Ant Type: Bug/Steel Abilities: Swarm, Hustle, or Truant Egg Group: Bug Gender Ratio: 50% male, 50% female Size: 1'00" / 0.3 m Weight 72.8 lbs / 33.0 kg Native To: Rocky mountains, dry grasslands & savannas, deserts, caves. They create sprawling nests underground. Primarily in Unova, Kalos, and Galar.
3/10 - Would not recommend anyone keep a Durant other than for battle or in an academic/educational context.
Diet & Nutrition: Opportunistic Omnivore - Durant primarily consumes vegetation and fungi, but they will hunt or scavenge smaller Pokemon when necessary, especially if food sources are scarce. Their diet is heavily influenced by availability and their environment as they're capable of adapting to many foods.
Recommended Foods: Leafy Greens & Tough Vegetation - Durant have strong mandibles suited for breaking down fibrous plant material (e.g., Gogoat leaves, hardy root vegetables) Fungi - Some colonies have been seen cultivating fungi underground, a few even harvest fungi from Foongus and Paras. Berries - Durant can digest a variety of berries but tend to favor Rawst, Aspear, and Chesto berries. Protein Sources - While not primary hunters, they scavenge fallen pokemon and attack weaker bug-types like Wurmple or Cutiefly when an easy meal presents itself. In captivity, protein supplements work just as well. Minerals - Durant's steel typing means they require metals to maintain their exoskeleton. In the wild they ingest iron deposits. In captivity, iron supplements are required. Foods to Avoid: Sugary or Soft Foods - Durant's digestive system is adapted for tough, fibrous materials. Sugary foods can cause digestive issues and sluggishness. Processed Pokemon Food - There are few Pokemon food brands that cater to Durant. Many lack the mineral content and fiber Durant need, leading to weaker exoskeletons over time. Fatty Meats - While Durant can digest proteins, excessive fats may cause lethargy due to not being able to digest the extra fat. Pokemon with Natural Toxins - Wild Durant may occasionally consume carrion but they don't possess the immunities to toxins produced by Pokemon like Venipede or Salandit.
Grooming & Maintenance: Durant are generally low-maintenance Pokemon in terms of grooming as their exoskeleton naturally protects them from dirt and damage. However, regular upkeep is necessary to prevent rust and weathering. More upkeep is required for Durants kept alone since they usually groom each other.
Rust Prevention - If a Durant is frequently exposed to moisture, they may develop rust along their joints. A dry environment and iron-rich diet help, but if rust appears a gentle rub with a fine-bristle brush (or steel wool in severe cases) can remove it. In severe cases, casts or bandages may be required to cover weakened areas after rust is removed. Mandibles - Durant rely on their mandibles or defense and foraging. In captivity they should be provided with hard minerals to chew to maintain strength and sharpness. It's also recommended to occasionally brush their mandibles to remove debris. Molting - While adult Durant do not molt like most bug-types they do shed thin flakes over time, periodic dust baths are recommended to help remove flakes. Young Durant require additional help with molting if it is housed alone, the metal exoskeleton is difficult for them to remove on their own. Providing rough surfaces for them to rub against is usually enough, in severe cases do not attempt to remove shed on your own, bring the Durant to a bug-type specialist.
Daily Exercise Requirement: Durant are high-energy Pokemon that require constant physical activity to prevent destructive behaviors. In the wild they are always moving and sleep only around 5 hours each day. A sedentary Durant may become restless and aggressive, especially if housed alone.
Recommended Activities: Digging - Durant should have access to diggable material (e.g., compacted soil, sand, or synthetic burrowing pits). If housing doesn't allow digging, artificial tunnels should be provided. Weighted Training - Durant are incredibly strong for their size and benefit from their strength being tested. Providing large stones or other heavy objects to transport mimics natural behaviors and provides physical activity.
Mental Stimulation Needs: Unlike highly intelligent Pokemon, Durant do not require complex mental stimulation but benefit from task-based enrichment.
Recommended Activities: Foraging - Hiding food within puzzle boxes, buried caches, or inside snuffle mats encourages natural foraging behavior. Scent Trails - Durant use pheromones and scent tracking to navigate. Setting up scent trails using pheromone sprays or strong smelling food is a good way to encourages natural tracking behavior.
Common Health Concerns:
Rust/Metal Degradation - Caused by frequent exposure to moisture or improper diet lacking in necessary metals. Identified by discoloration, joint stiffness, brittle exoskeleton. Prevention/Treatment - Maintain a dry habitat with proper ventilation. Ensure a mineral-rich diet. Remove rust gently with fine-bristle brushes in early stages. Aggression & Stress Disorders - Caused by solitary housing, lack of activity, or disruption of territorial instincts. Identified by increased hostility, attacking trainers, obsessive patrolling behavior. Prevention/Treatment - Pair or group housing is recommended for Durant as they thrive in colonies. Provide patrol routes or enclosed pathways to mimic natural behavior. If solitary, double down on exercise and enrichment to prevent restlessness. Overgrown Mandibles - Caused by lack of wear from proper chewing materials. Identified by difficulty eating, misalignment of mandibles, reduced effectiveness in battle. Prevention/Treatment - Provide hard materials to chew. In severe cases a specialist should manually file down mandibles.
Best Living Conditions: Durant require spacious, well-ventilated enclosures that allow for digging, patrolling, and maintaining a structured environment.
Burrowing Access - Durant should have access to diggable material such as compacted soil, sand, or synthetic burrowing pits. If tunneling isn’t possible, artificial burrows and tunnel networks should be provided. Strict Containment – Due to their compulsive digging and escape tendencies, enclosures should have reinforced flooring or deep perimeter barriers to prevent tunneling out. Cool, Dry Environments – Durant thrive in low-humidity, cool-temperature habitats. Excessive heat or moisture can cause exoskeleton degradation, rust, and lethargy.
Temperament
Generally Behavior: Durant are highly active, defensive Pokemon that thrive in structured environments. They are naturally territorial and protective, often displaying high aggression toward intruders, even those significantly larger than them. While they lack the problem-solving of more intelligent Pokemon, they exhibit strong instinctual behaviors and rely heavily on routine. They function the best in colonies or structured teams, as their natural inclination is to work toward a collective goal. Solitary Durant require careful management to prevent stress-induced aggression or erratic behavior.
Drive Level: High
Instincts:
Territorial - Durants are naturally defensivev of their homes and will aggressively attack intruders. Offensive Drive - While not mindless attackers, they rarely back down from threats and will fight to incapacitation if it feels threatened enough. Foraging - They are task-driven and will continuously seek out food, minerals, and nesting materials. Tunneling - Durant are natural burrowers and will attempt to dig anywhere they can. Including into furniture and walls if no adequate tunneling place is provided. Escape Prone - Not due to intelligence, but because they dig constantly and can tunnel out of enclosures if not properly contained.
How They Interact with Other Pokémon: Durant prefer working in groups and function best with Pokemon that share their work ethic. While cooperative within a structured group, they do not bond emotionally like more intelligent Pokemon. Durant are also highly territorial and will not tolerate strangers in their space even if not directly provoked. Due to natural predator-prey relationships with Heatmor, Durant may react aggressively toward fire-types. Non-threatening burrowers (e.g., Sandshrew, Diglet, Drilbur) may be tolerated.
Companion Pokémon:
Compatible - Paras, Foongus, Sandshrew, Drilbur Caution Advised - Any pokemon that might be seen as food (small bug-types) like Wurmple or Cutiefly. Not Reccommended - Heatmor and fire-types, as Durant have an extreme aversion to intense heat and flames.
Trainer Compatibility:
Best Suited For - Experienced trainers who can provide constant activity and structured environments. Competitive battlers looking for high-durability Pokemon. Trainers with the space to keep multiple Durant together. Not Recommended For - Casual trainers who want low maintenance Pokemon. Small apartment living. Trainers with delicate or small Pokemon. Trainers with aggressive or fire-type Pokemon unless kept separate.
Training
Difficulty: Advanced - Durant are driven by instinct, making them stubborn and resistant to traditional training methods. While they can be conditioned to follow commands, their territorial nature and aggressive tendencies require strict structure, patience, and experienced handling.
Bonding: Durant do not bond emotionally like more intelligent Pokemon but form loyal relationships through routine.
Socialization: Should Be Limited - Durant are naturally territorial and do not react well to unfamiliar Pokemon or strangers. It is not usually worth it to try and socialize a Durant and often causes significant stress. If needed for work, Durant should be conditioned from a young age to tolerate specific individuals, but they will always be defensive towards strangers.
Common Behavioral Issues & Fixes:
Refusal to Back Down - Durant will fight until incapacitated if not properly conditioned. Trainers must actively train recall commands and reward highly for successful recall to prevent unnecessary injury. Escape Attempts - Provide designated digging zones and structured tunneling tasks to redirect the behavior. Bored Durant will chew or dig into anything.
Best Fit For:
Security & Guard Roles - Durant's territorial instincts and aggressive defense make them excellent for guarding. Entire colonies can be made to guard if all other needs are provided for. Mining & Excavation - Their burrowing skills and powerful mandibles make them ideal for clearing tunnels or transporting materials. Competitive Battling - Durant excel in defensive, endurance-based combat where their resistance help them to tire out and outlast opponents.

What makes Eurydactylodes care different from other New Caledonian geckos?

[This is the start of my writings on Eury care. This will be edited and updated as necessary, and should be treated as a reference, but not as a comprehensive care guide. For Eury care, this site by JeckosGeckos ended up being very helpful. This guide will be helpful if you already have knowledge on the husbandry of other New Caledonian gecko species, such as the Crested Gecko, Gargoyle Gecko, Leachianus Gecko, and Chahoua Gecko.]
1. SIZE! The most obvious difference between Eurys and the other New Caledonian geckos is their size! Eurys stay very small, with adult females at their largest getting to ~7 inches nose-tail (this can also depend on subspecies). This means that they’ll get a much smaller tank. Right now I am using a 5.5 gallon converted aquarium, but I plan on upgrading mine to a 10 gallon vertical tank (12x12x18) once he’s grown a little bit. Care guides recommend 5-10 gallons per individual (cohabitation can happen with these guys, but I’ll get to that later).
No matter how much you give them, these guys WILL use the space, because they also tend to be more active than other NewCal geckos! I was very surprised to see how often my Eury moved around his tank compared to my crested gecko. Like with most reptiles though, babies/juveniles will benefit from a smaller space, as they’ll feel like they have more safety in cover and ease finding food.
2: Small tanks and temperature! Like I mentioned before, my Eury is currently in a 5.5 gallon converted aquarium. I learned on the first day of keeping my Eury that a small tank like this will heat up quickly and it’ll retain that heat.
I originally set up my tank with a rainforest-specific UVB bulb that put off a bit of heat (I was originally using it to create a lower-temp basking spot for my crested gecko). Within the day, this bulb heated my tank up to 80°, which i consider to be the heat limit for my tanks. I removed this bulb and replaced it with a 5.0 UVB bulb that does NOT give off heat, and the tank went back to a room temperature. I highly recommend using a UVB light that does not give off heat, and to still keep adequate coverage so that your gecko can use the shade.
3. Water and Humidity! Many people report seeing their Eurys drinking standing water, so many recommend keeping a water dish available to them at all times. (In addition, I recommend this for all reptiles. People say that crested geckos will just drink the droplets off their leaves, but I’ve seen mine drink standing water). I also have a small humid hide available to him, and I keep moss spread throughout his tank to retain humidity.
4: Food! Eurys can also eat CGD (I personally use Pangea), along with SMALL insects. Please make sure that the insect is smaller than the width of your gecko’s head, otherwise it may present a choking hazard. When feeding CGD, I’ve been spreading a small amount of it on the bottom of a food cup so that I can see the tiniest lick marks. Eurys are ridiculously small, so it’s hard to tell if theyre eating at all. If you see droppings around the tank, then theyre eating just fine. Many geckos are shy about eating during the day/in front of people, so you may not see them eat.
5: Natural Habitat (and tank decoration)! In the wild, Eurys usually will take refuge in shrubbery or low plants. Their habitats should be a little more cluttered with smaller sticks and stems to climb around on. I keep a live Pothos in my Eury tank, and he likes to climb around on the stems. Spider wood pieces will also work great for these guys.
6: Keeping Bioactive + Isopod choice! A Eury tank is a great place to start out with small scale bioactive setup. For a good bioactive, you need to make a quality substrate with a drainage layer, filter, soil and/or coco fiber substrate, and a cleanup crew involving isopods and springtails to cycle the soil and prevent mold growth. Isopods can also double as a calcium rich food source for your gecko, so make sure to replenish the isopod population when needed. With isopods, I recommend using Dwarf Whites to burrow in the soil, these guys stay hidden so theyre less likely to be eaten, and they also reproduce asexually so they’ll be in your tank forever. For a surface crawling isopod, make sure to get something that will mainly feed on substrate and plant matter and NOT protein. Protein motivated isopods (such as P. Laevis Dairy Cows), can actually go after your gecko if enough of them are able to team up on it. A full grown group of isopods can actually be a predatory risk for your gecko, so make sure to research which isopod species will work well with your gecko.
7: Risks! Eurys are incredibly small, so I would say that the average risks involved in owning geckos will be a bit more severe for these guys. Firstly, they are TINY, so any rough handling can severely injure or even kill them. Please only let them be handled by people who you trust to be careful with a very small reptile. Handle them near their tank or above a surface that they can land on just in case they jump. Luckily they are not as quick as other microgeckos, but keep an eye on them and try not to leave them on their own, since they will be VERY hard to find if they escape. They can be tolerant to handling, but try to get them used to your presence and handle them in short sessions that gradually build. You want the gecko to feel safe around you and not to be stressed out from constant touching.
Next, there can be a risk of respiratory infection. Although they need high spikes in humidity, try to leave parts of the tank dry and parts of the tank humid so the gecko can self regulate its humidity. If the tank is too constantly humid, the gecko can be exposed to respiratory infection. Also, I hope this goes without saying, but don’t vape or smoke in the room housing the gecko. Their lungs are incredibly small and will probably be more vulnerable to damage. Go outside, to another room, or out of a window.
As with leopard geckos, there can also be risks involving stuck shed. If shed gets stuck around a toe, it can actually cut off circulation to the toe and make it fall off. This is especially challenging with Eurys because it would be very difficult to safely assist with the shedding. Cork bark has been reported to really help reptiles with shedding, so it’s a good idea to make this available to your gecko.
8: Price! Eurydactylodes will be much harder to find than other New Caledonian species. I was fortunate enough to get mine from a breeder in a reptile rehoming facebook group, but this does not seem like a common occurrence (I couldn’t find a single other post in the group about this species). I haven’t seen them at my local reptile expo, and I’ve seen them once at my local specialty reptile store. On Morphmarket, they tend to be less available than other gecko species, and run between $200-$400. They’re unfortunately much less accessible to the average reptile owner because of their price and rarity. Luckily, that is where the cost related problems end! With a few items already owned, I set up a bioactive starter tank for about $130, less than half of what I spent on my crested gecko setup. You can find small tanks for dirt cheap at thrift stores, garage sales, facebook marketplace, craigslist, and on sale at pet stores. Then you just need some small sticks, moss, one or two average sized houseplants, and some substrate of your choice. The setup is cheap, small scale, and a great starting place for some fun and creative setups. I’m planning on making my first custom background on my upgraded tank for my Eury, and I’m ridiculously excited about it.
9: Cohabitation and breeding! I saved the best for last, and that is that you can actually cohabitate Eurys! That being said, It’s important to grant ~5 gallons of space to each gecko, and not to house 2 males together. Males will be aggressive and territorial to each other, which will lead to high stress and injury or possible death to one of your geckos. Females are fine to house together. If you house a male and a female, you will probably be at risk for mating, so you should prepare to incubate eggs if needed, and you should make sure that both geckos are sexually mature (1.5+ years old) before housing them together. You should also have a backup plan for what to do with babies, if you want to either care for them, or sell/give them to other keepers.
This being said, I only have a single juvenile Eury right now. I’m researching cohabitation because when he’s old enough, I’d love to house him with a female Eury and breed them. You should look into breeding guides by experienced keepers if you want to do this yourself.
I also think that it’s important to prioritize good animal keeping over breeding for profit. Make sure that the animals all get the space and attention they deserve before pairing them together just to sell babies. Make sure to research your local reptile market to look for demand of these reptiles, or if you choose to sell on an online platform, to do your research in transporting these animals safely.

And there I have it! These were the most significant differences between the keeping of Eurydactylodes and other NewCal geckos that I saw. I am still at the beginning of my journey with my own Eury, so I’ll probably edit and add to this guide when I learn new things. Thank you for reading, and I’d love to hear about other people’s experiences with this species!

How to Clean Fabric Sofas: Simple Steps to Keep Your Sofas Fresh and Stain-Free
Fabric sofas are a great addition to any living room furniture, offering both comfort and style. However, keeping them clean can sometimes be a challenge. Thankfully, cleaning fabric sofas doesn’t have to be difficult. With a few simple steps, you can keep them looking fresh and free from stains.
Start by vacuuming your sofa thoroughly to remove any dirt, dust, and debris. Pay attention to the seams and crevices, as these areas tend to trap dirt. Vacuuming first ensures you’re not rubbing dirt deeper into the fabric when you start cleaning.
Next, create a gentle cleaning solution. Mix 1/4 cup of vinegar, 3/4 cup of warm water, and a tablespoon of dish soap or Castile soap. Before you apply this mixture to your entire sofa, test it on a small, hidden spot to ensure it doesn’t discolor the fabric. Once you’re sure it’s safe, lightly spray the soiled areas with the solution. Then, using a soft cloth, gently scrub in circular motions to lift the stain.
For a deeper clean, you can use a steam cleaner, but only if your fabric is steam-cleaning friendly. Steam cleaning can be particularly effective at removing embedded dirt and refreshing the fabric.
After cleaning, allow your fabric sofas to air dry completely. It’s important to resist the urge to sit on them until they’re fully dry to avoid any moisture being trapped in the fabric. Once dry, vacuum the sofa again to remove any loosened dirt and restore the texture of the fabric.
With these simple cleaning steps, you can keep your fabric sofas looking as good as new, ensuring they remain a cozy and stylish part of your living room for years to come.

A critique I've seen of HDG is "you'd have no control over your life" and idk, I feel like I have so little control over my life now.
the main difference is here it's due to capitalism, ableism, and transphobia and I have to largely take care of myself. Whereas in HDG, I would be fed, clothed, my disabilities accommodated for, my transition would be done in a week And I'd have a large hot plant person caring for me the entire time.
If I'd have no control over my life, at least HDG is safe and sexy

•~Leopard gecko care guide~• Leopard geckos are an amazing beginner pet and are superior to other lizards because they're cuter and easier to take care of. They are very smart and well behaved. •~Housing~• Leopard geckos need a minimum of ten gallons of space and plenty of of things to climb on because despite not having toe pads they are excellent climbers. No Leopard gecko house is complete without at least three hides, one on the warm side, one on the cold side, and a moist one. the moist hide should be kept on the hot side, a wet place to go will help your gecko shed. If you go the fish tank route you will need to buy a special metal lid that's kinda like mesh but like metal. For heating they will need one side that's kept hot and one side that's kept cool so that they can thermoregulate. Some people choose to use a heat lamp and some choose heating pads, most choose heat pads because leopard geckos tend to stay on the ground more than other geckos, but heat lamps work, and what works for you might not work for someone else, it just depends on your gecko. Their substrate can't be loose because they could lose a toe, but you don't have to use repti carpet, you could just use newspaper or paper towels. You don't have to worry too much about humidity, because they live in a pretty dry climate, all you need to worry about is their moist hide. •~Feeding~• Leopard geckos are carnivores and don't need any fruits or vegetables, most will refuse to eat vegetables, like toddlers. You can just feed them crickets or mealworms dusted in vitamins. youwill need to buy calcium and D3 powder to give them with their food. unless your gecko has some kind of deficiency, calcium and D3 should be enough for them, they don't really need much else. You can buy them other vitamins but this is generally optional. •~Handling and taming~• To tame your gecko you will want to just mainly leave it alone for the first few weeks except for feeding, after a few days you can start to be around them or watch them while they're eating, this will help them become more comfortable around you. when you're ready to start holding them start at about five minutes work your way up as they start to become more comfortable around you. to hold your leopard gecko you want to pick them up gently and be extremely gentle with them, they're fragile. you'll just want to let them sit on your hand and be sure your ready to catch them if they jump, especially if they are more jittery. •~General care~• While they're shedding you should just leave them alone and not hold them, if they're having trouble getting some skin off you could put them in a bath of shallow lukewarm water in a small bowl. If a kid is holding them make sure to pay extra good attention, no matter how gentle the kid. do not have them around other pets that can scare them, because we don't want them to bescared. if they lose their tails don't fret, it grows back and it's very common for them to lose them, you should probably figure out what's causing them stress. ♡∞:。.。Pro tip: if the power goes out put blankets around their terrarium to keep it warm until the power comes back on。.。:∞♡
