This feels like both a statement of potential obviousness, but also a prediction because hey, we're only 2.5 hrs into Episode 1: I don't think Downfall will reveal either the gods or the Aeorians to somehow be uniquely evil, or that the desire on either part to destroy the other is somehow uniquely more justified or deserved.
Like in Episode 1 here we're getting a very strong dose of the shitty things Aeorians are doing to other mortals in their pursuit of control and power - we already knew they were a warmongering surveillance state, and as things get worse on Exandria it's grimly unsurprising that the people on the ground are increasingly treated as disposable. But Aeor is still a city full of people seeking safety in a land torn open by the gods' battles, desperate to survive by any (increasingly ugly and sinister) means. And the gods in turn are afraid for their survival, and are acting accordingly in seeking Aeor's Downfall (immense collateral damage) - all while and the versions of them in the party here have lived mortal lives & hardships, have families, communities. They have lived in the desolation their own godly battles have created. We don't see them portrayed as lofty divine abstracts, not even necessarily in the intro, where they are confused, afraid, and seeking safety from danger.
For Ludinus to think this "footage" is in his favor against the gods, and the complexity of the lore being what it is and the cast being the storytellers that they are, I think it must be the kind of series of events you can look at and see the humanity (using that word deliberately) for good and ill in all parties involved - and leave again with your biases if they're strong enough. Very curious what we will learn. I expect to weep. I can't wait.

Goodbye Volcano High among NPR's best video games of 2023!!
Tumblr media
An impending meteor is racing toward Pangea, but Fang, a nonbinary anthropomorphic pterodactyl, has more pressing issues. Their best friend is showing more interest in entomology than the band they started as kids. A shy would-be paramour has started sending Fang anonymous texts. And their brother is trying to hold the family together as their parents struggle to connect with Fang. Meanwhile, news of the coming meteor rolls out slowly: It’s met first with a shrug and then with social media memes and despair — not unlike our own experiences with COVID-19 and climate change. The imminent apocalypse amplifies tensions among Fang’s gang of dorky dinosaur friends, all of whom are also dealing with the sudden cancellation of plans and aspirations. But aided by a brilliant dialogue system and Rock Band-style rhythm challenges, Goodbye Volcano High still manages to be wholesome and hopeful, even in the face of potential extinction. — James Mastromarino, NPR Gaming lead and Here & Now producer

Unlocking the Mysteries of Existence - A Journey Through "The Kybalion"
Tumblr media
"The Kybalion: A Study of The Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece" by Three Initiates is a timeless masterpiece that unveils the profound teachings of Hermeticism, an ancient and esoteric philosophical tradition that has captivated seekers of wisdom for centuries. This enigmatic book delves into the fundamental principles governing the universe, offering readers a glimpse into the secrets of creation, transformation, and spiritual enlightenment.
At its core, "The Kybalion" explores the Seven Hermetic Principles, which are the foundation of Hermetic philosophy. These principles include the Law of Mentalism, the Law of Correspondence, the Law of Vibration, the Law of Polarity, the Law of Rhythm, the Law of Cause and Effect, and the Law of Gender. Through the wisdom contained within these principles, the book takes readers on a profound journey of self-discovery and understanding of the universe.
One of the strengths of "The Kybalion" is its ability to present complex metaphysical concepts in a clear and accessible manner. The Three Initiates, who remain anonymous, have crafted a text that is both profound and practical. Each principle is explained with examples and analogies, making it easier for readers to grasp the depth of Hermetic wisdom. The authors also emphasize the interconnectedness of these principles, highlighting how they work in harmony to shape our reality.
What sets this book apart is its focus on the practical application of Hermetic principles in everyday life. It encourages readers to harness the power of their thoughts, emotions, and actions to transform themselves and their circumstances. By understanding and aligning with the Hermetic Laws, individuals can achieve personal growth, spiritual evolution, and a deeper connection to the cosmos.
"The Kybalion" also delves into the concept of mental transmutation, which is the process of consciously shifting one's thoughts and emotions to create a more positive and harmonious life. This idea is particularly relevant in today's world, where the importance of mindfulness and the law of attraction is widely recognized.
However, it's important to approach "The Kybalion" with an open mind and a willingness to contemplate its teachings deeply. Some readers may find the ideas challenging or even contradictory to conventional beliefs. Yet, therein lies the beauty of Hermeticism—it invites exploration and introspection, encouraging individuals to question and seek their own truth.
In conclusion, "The Kybalion" is a profound and enlightening work that has the power to transform the lives of those who delve into its pages. It serves as a timeless guide to understanding the mysteries of the universe, the power of the mind, and the path to spiritual awakening. Whether you are a seasoned seeker of esoteric wisdom or a newcomer to Hermeticism, this book offers a valuable and life-changing journey into the heart of ancient philosophical teachings.

Devolver Digital Distributes Delays In Delightful Direct
Skate Story and The Plucky Squire are only a couple of games Devolver announced delays for into next year. Check out the rest of the delays and what's still coming in 2023 here:
Prolific indie publisher Devolver Digital released a new video today announcing the delays of a handful of its upcoming slate to 2024. Astrology as a Language of Spirit
I had a flash of insight today while going through my journal and astrological alignments during those dates. People often ask whether the planets are sending us energy, some external force acting upon us that we need to respond to, work with, or resist. That perspective might not be entirely wrong, but the more I study astrology and observe how the outer world mirrors the inner world, the more…

JUDAS, THE CHOSEN ONE: THE FORBIDDEN STORY
Beneath the veil of betrayal, a covenant was kept in silence.
There are truths so heavy that they can only be carried in silence. Stories that were buried not because they were false — but because they were too true.
For two thousand years, Judas Iscariot has been cursed, his name synonymous with betrayal. But what if the story we inherited was never the story that happened? What if Judas was not the traitor — but the keeper of the most terrible, sacred burden?
In the lost "Gospel of Judas", a different light shines. In secret, Jesus reveals to Judas what no other disciple can comprehend. He says to him:
"You will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me."
(Gospel of Judas)
Here, Judas is not the villain, but the trusted one — the only one capable of understanding the true nature of the divine drama. The "man" was merely a vessel; the Spirit awaited its liberation. Judas’s kiss was not the signal of betrayal. It was the ignition of destiny. Later, Jesus tells Judas of the sorrow he must bear:
"You will become the thirteenth, and you will be cursed by the other generations — and you will come to rule over them. In the last days, they will curse your ascent to the holy generation."
(Gospel of Judas)
Thus, Judas was chosen — not to destroy Jesus, but to set him free. Chosen to bear the hatred of the centuries, so that a deeper mystery could unfold.
This secret echoes again, centuries later, in the strange, haunting pages of book titled "The Flight of the Feathered Serpent". In the opening chapter, a mysterious figure speaks softly to a seeker, unveiling hidden wisdom about Judas:
"If you only knew, you would understand that Judas's kiss was the price he paid to set the wheels of the heavens in motion. His was a love that dared to be hated by all, that dared to be lost to the world, for the sake of what is eternal."
(The Flight of the Feathered Serpent, Chapter 1)
To fall willingly into infamy, to sacrifice not only life but legacy — this was Judas’s path. And deeper still, another fragment of the Feathered Serpent text speaks of the misunderstood nature of the sacred:
"The world sees only the surface of acts and judges them by the blindness of appearances. But those who have eyes to see know that many who are condemned are the silent workers of the Divine."
(The Flight of the Feathered Serpent)
But perhaps the most heart-wrenching secret is this:
In "The Flight of the Feathered Serpent", it is revealed that Jesus himself asked Judas to take the role of the traitor — and Judas, heartbroken, begged him not to ask it.
"Judas fell to his knees and wept, begging the Master not to impose upon him such a sorrowful burden. But Jesus, embracing him with a love beyond this world, whispered that only through his sacrifice could the prophecy be fulfilled. Judas, with tears, accepted."
Thus, Judas was not the architect of betrayal — he was its willing sacrifice. He became the darkest villain in human memory so that the brightest Light could shine unimpeded.
The Feathered Serpent — the ancient god-man who taught wisdom and was later betrayed and exiled — mirrors Judas’s fate. Both descended into the world clothed in mortal form, both betrayed by those they came to serve, both carrying within them a Light the world was too blind to see.
Perhaps in Judas's fall lies the blueprint of spiritual awakening: that to rise, one must first descend; that to redeem the world, one must bear its hatred without faltering.
The hidden covenant between Jesus and Judas was not broken by betrayal — it was fulfilled in silence. If you listen closely, you may still hear it in the wind that whispers through forgotten temples, in the hush between ancient stars, in the heartbeat of those who dare to love truth more than themselves.

The Particle and the Principle
As we stand on the precipice of an ever-evolving world, we are reminded that communication is not merely about exchanging words, but about understanding, reflection, and shared responsibility. In an era when global relationships are fractured and trust wavers, it is vital that we approach one another with both curiosity and empathy—striving not to deepen divides, but to bridge them. Each of…
