Tummy Tonic: Soothe Your Upset Stomach

Hello Traveler! Come on in, I have all the supplies you ordered for your next adventure. It looks like you’ll be away for quite some time, so I’ve packed something extra for you. Wherever you’re headed it doesn’t sound like a place for delicate stomachs. I’ve got a Tummy Tonic here to settle any upset stomach, and I’ve packed some extra ingredients so you can brew more if you run out. Listen…

Lunar Pasties

Ingredients:

4 potatoes, peeled and diced

1 small onion, diced

Butter 

½ cup shredded carrots

Red pepper flakes (no direct measurements)

Cracked pepper (no direct measurements)

Garlic powder (no direct measurements)

Pinch of Salt

Premade pie dough

One egg for eggwash

Instructions:

Boil potatoes for 10 minutes or until soft. 

Into a pan add the butter to melt before adding the diced onions, carrots, red pepper flakes, cracked pepper and garlic powder. Add boiled potatoes and a pinch of salt. Stir and lightly mash everything together.

Cut pie dough in half and add spoonful of filling to one side of the cut piece. Eggwash the edge of the dough and fold the other side of the cut piece over the filling. You can use a fork or your hands to keep the edges together. Cut holes on top of the dough and cover in eggwash. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20 minutes.

Serve warm and garnish with parsley.

Realm SMP - The nitty gritty

I listened to Tubbo's rundown of Realm's features in the hour before the server opened, so here's some quotes + timestamps for folks who want to know the nitty gritty details about Realm's functions, tools, weapons, features, and more.

7m - Tubbo says he does have a team he assembled now, and it's costing him "Quite a bit of money."

Tubbo: To put all this together, to assemble the team – 'cuz I have assembled a team for this now – it's costing me a bit of money out the bank. [...] I'm going VERY out of pocket on this project."

10m - He reached out to a lot of his connections from working on Tubnet and got a custom rendered poster commissioned to announce Realm's first event.

Because of his show starting in December, Tubbo was worried he might not be able to give Realm SMP his full time, which is what prompted him to get a team.

13m 20s - The first event, Factions, is a long-form event, so even if a streamer isn't there on the event day (December 8) they can still play in the coming days. The factions won't be like more factions, MMO factions are different from Minecraft factions.

Tubbo: The Realm SMP is 100% vanilla, and while that is true in the sense that you can join the server using a vanilla client and it doesn't require any mods to play, there is some slight modifications within the vanilla game. Every single feature I've added to the server is to add to to vanilla features that already exist. It's not to take them away, it's not to make a different way of doing them, it's just to add more to the base game without destroying any already default Minecraft functionality.

Tubbo: Shoutout Philza! He's been on enough SMPs where he hasn't been able to get an elytra because the End is disabled. So there actually is a crafting recipe based on the elytra, but you have to unlock it based on skills.

21m 20s - Tool recap. Tool quality breakdown: terrible, shoddy, decent, good, great, flawless, masterful, fabled, and legendary. A terrible diamond sword would be worse than a masterful wooden sword.

Tubbo: I want them to kind of tailor their own custom class to themselves based on the types of specializations they pick in [different categories.

43m - Lives system clarification. Talks about death saving throws in DND. "If you die, it's equal to you failing a saving throw." If you lose all 3 lives, you'll be banned off the server for 24 hours, your stats are reset. "You are a new character, you are dead."

46m - Tubbo says he's cooking some lore for himself, but he's leaving thing open-ended so players on the server can tell the stories they want to make.

Ok so hear me out (prepare to share)

One of the things I love right now is how writers can all see the same idea and come up with wildly different ideas of how to pull it off. Well really programers. Chefs. Artists. Anyone really.

And they can all work.

Like my story has been bopping around in my head after seeing some post debating what races had the best whatever recipes. And I'm like...

I wanna make a cook book like that.

But I didn't. Because life and I was working on a comic and all. But then this contest on tapas comes around and I'm like.

Yes.

Let's do this.

ACTION TIME.

But that wasn't enough. Because I saw some of the races and I like "but why tho". I mean we all know there are some racist ideas behind various races. And honestly, some races are like... been there done that. So my brain starts finding new twists on them.

The elves are the wine makers, have glamor because they look like eldritch horrors, and are basically dnd bards. "Dark elves" are basically the holiest warriors. Orcs? Blue and red which got mistaken for blood early on. They leaned into it for interactions but they really like to farm and raise sheep like critters. The centaurs are half goat not half horse and their cities are a PAIN to get into because they don't need roads, they have walls they can hop up.

And all of this still gets me adding in recipes people can cook. More or less based on what's happening. While the MC Enoki runs around on hir own tasting food and trying to save the world. Because oh yeah, the gods need a feast or they start blowing up the various races!

Lmk ss edits + Headcanons, Part 2 (Pigsy, Tang, Sandy, Sun Wukong, Macaque)

- Huge environmentalist, if you put any garbage or recycling in the wrong bin expect to get at least a three hour lecture, no you can not escape this, yes MK and Mei have tried, no they did not succeed

- Took him the longest to get used to having Redson around and a part of the group , but eventually warmed up to him (is still kinda salty about Redson burning MK's room though)

- Gets incredibly frustrated when he gets the hiccups (writing this as I'm fighting off hiccups)

- Loves watching true crime shows and listening to true crime podcasts while he does household chores or while he's setting up/closing the shop

- Got his ears pierced with Tang

- MK and Mei call him mom when he's being overbearing, Tang calls him mom now too to tease him

- Once caught Mei and MK sneaking food out of the kitchen at 3am and beat them with a broom for a solid minute because he was too drowsy to recognize them and assumed they were intruders (they were fine)

- Got drunk in college once and talked about nothing but how much he loved Tang, didn't remember any of it the next day but Tang asked him out pretty quickly after that

- Has adipose eyelids like a fish to protect his eyes from the water, block exposure of harmful ultraviolet light into his eyes and act as protection against impact to the eye in aquatic environments. Since his eyelids are transparent though, he has to wear a sleeping mask at night

They've started to try and mend their relationship after the events of season 4, it's slow but it's progress)

Winx Headcanons, part 2!

Riven is a genuine fan of Musa’s music.

Musa is an early riser and annoying about it. Flora is also an early riser but is chill about it. 

Stella can sleep for like twelve hours straight and not give a damn. 

Tecna and Bloom stay up late at night, Tecna more so than Bloom. She will maim whoever wakes her early. 

Aisha loves to take naps whenever she feels like it, and sleeps like a baby. She also kicks at night.

All the Specialists have to be early risers because paramilitary school. Sorry, boys :(

Bloom and Sky sometimes fantasise about owning a menagerie of pets, if they were ever to move in together. 

Riven is genuinely a fan of Musa’s music.

Specialists vis-a-vis combat: out of all the boys, Sky has the best technique. He is also intuitive, able to read his opponent’s body language and easily predict what step they might take next. Timmy’s a short shooter, their main pilot, strategist and handler. He’s a whole unit on an actual mission, but is pretty useless in hand-to-hand combat. Brandon is the strongest, yet the most reckless with himself. He relies on his raw power and stamina to carry him through fights; a DnD Barbarian through-and-through. Riven, like Sky, is an excellent marksman. He has a knack for improvised weaponry and utilising his surroundings.

Helia is on par with Brandon vis-a-vis strength. He is agile; capable of dodging attacks and outsmarting opponents. Usually prefers to detain enemies and knock them out, and rarely engages in actual combat. When he is angry, there’s less technique, and more of self-destructive, horrifying beating.

Nabu is a warlock. He makes duplicates of himself that are capable of fighting but are glass cannons. He can detain and blind enemies, become invisible, make a fog, etc. In hand-to-hand combat, he lacks experience and stamina, but has a couple of tricks up his sleeve.

Sky is surprisingly a very good cook. All of the Specialists are not half bad at cooking, except for Nabu (that nepo baby never cooked a meal for himself in his life). 

The Winx are mostly bad at cooking. Tecna is ok; she follows all recipes to a T and ends with middling results. Musa is the best among the girls and actually enjoys cooking. 

Aisha likes sleeping with the lights on.

Since Aisha and Stella room together, Stella commissioned a Solarian engineer to create quality, magic light spheres that last months. They float near the ceilings and Piff likes to try and catch them. 

One side effect of prolonged psychic intrusion on a mind is the nightmares that follow afterwards. Riven struggles with them after Darcy.

Nabu also struggles with nightmares, due to him being a warlock and having battled/spared with many other psychics. As well as Darcy. He’s more humorous and dismissive of them; he says that he cannot remember his nightmares aside from a vague feeling of emptiness and anxiety. After meeting Aisha and working against Valtor, his nightmares would become way more concrete and terrifying. 

All the Winx adore Miele, and she loves them in turn. Tecna is probably her favorite though; she just finds her “the coolest and the bravest”!

Miele definitely had a crush on Brandon and Helia, although it was short-lived. 

Helia and Saladin have a very close, very complicated relationship. 

In childhood, Helia was entranced by his “Company of Light, Brightest sorcerer of Magix” grandpa Saladin. His father Rames was a pacifist and had a strained relationship with Saladin, but didn’t want to deprive little Helia of his grandfather. When Helia’s father and mother were in the midst of divorce, Helia, under Saladin’s guidance, enrolled in the Red Fountain. Rames raised his voice on Helia for the very first time and they had a big argument, which resulted in them not talking for a few months. 

They made up, but their relationship remained strained until Helia dropped out of school and came home to his father. 

Saladin instilled perfectionism in Helia, always expecting excellency and above. Saladin, being a military man, didn’t believe in “expressing feelings” or “being pacifist”. 

Saladin truly only wanted the best for Helia, but he never understood him or his own son.

Rames absolutely adores Flora. He is the crunchy-muchy granola dad, Henry Oak style, and how could he not love an eco-terrorist icon, the gentle Flora?

I figured it was about time I made an actual blog intro of my own since I forgot to make one when I started this blog last year. Better late than never, lmao!

I am an Asexual woman (my pronouns are she/her!) and I'm also personally an atheist who puts my faith in the spirits of Mother Nature, though I respect all other religions equally!

I'm Gen Z and Latina (Brazilian). I was raised bilingual (Brazilian Portuguese + English) and I love learning languages - currently, I'm working on learning French and Spanish! Career-wise I am studying in college to become a character designer and hopefully animator, as I want to pursue a career as an artist and writer! I adore listening to music, especially songs that can inspire me to write my WIPs! Playlists are a huge part of my writing process and something I really enjoy making.

I'm currently rereading Shadow and Bone (+ Six of Crows) and I am always looking for more good dark fantasy/historical fantasy books to read so book recs are always welcome! I also am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series and Trials of Apollo (by Rick Riordan), though I'm usually more of a gritty/dark fantasy fan (like Game of Thrones)!

I have three dogs and two cats!😺🐶

I know how to play the piano, though I haven't done that in a while because things have been chaotic for me, but I'd like to start playing regularly again in my winter vacation.

I have worn glasses since I was 5 years old and have terrible eyesight without them (and some days with them, lol, so bear with me).

My friends and I are doing a DnD campaign every Sunday, where I play as a half-elf rogue named Aeryn (he/him). I'm adoring this adventure so far, it's so fun!!!

I love to bake and am rather good at it, but am a painfully average cook lmao (some specific recipes I make are actually rlly good, but it depends a lot on my mood and the 'alignment of the stars' lol)

About my Writing!🏹⌛

I write fictional works mostly in the genre of fantasy (high fantasy/epic fantasy/dark fantasy/historical fantasy/urban fantasy, etc. You name it!) and science fiction (space opera/cyberpunk/superhero, etc).

My works usually revolve around themes such as epic quests, secrets, adventure, rebels fighting an oppressive system, sibling bonds, acceptance/respect, outcasts, and much, much more! I love fluff and whump equally, and though my stories tend to focus on serious topics (or at least darker/heavier themes) within a fantasy/sci-fi setting, I like to have a good bit of humor, lighthearted fun, and comedy to my stories to lighten up the mood!

do you have any Brenda and Miss Holloway thoughts?

You know that Smosh episode where Spencer and Shayne convince Amanda fnaf was real? Brenda has 100% done that to Miss Holloway. Holly didn’t question it for a second because weird shit like that happens all the time in Hatchetfield.

Brenda teaches Holloway all the modern slang and Holloway tells her all the ‘80s slang. And Brenda has spread the ‘80s phrases to her friend group who spread it further and inadvertently caused a retro trend in the youth of Hatchetfield.

Brenda is Holloway’s cooking prodigy. She didn’t think she would enjoy it but once Holly started teaching her she fell in love with the craft. Holloway teaches her all her favorite recipes and Brenda loves to experiment and change them up a bit. Holly has given her a monthly special where Brenda can put anything she wants on the menu.

Miss Retro’s becomes like a second Pasqualli’s that is free from bullying. So all the nerds hang out there but Brenda also brings her cheer buddies and it’s a place where the cliques don’t matter as much and the teens can mix. The nerds play dnd on the back and Brenda has played on a few one shots. (This is just me wanting every character ever to play dnd.)

Holloway helps Brenda with her college applications. Picking a college, exploring majors, writing a letter of rec. Brenda really values the help because she didn’t know where to start. And Holloway is also encouraging of her to go where she wants, not where her parents want her to go or the school where all her friends are.

when they sleep reg is always in the middle, james is on his back and barty has his face smushed into the pillow

they're the definition of manipulate, mansplain and malewife plus gaslight, gatekeep and girlboss

james' favourite drink is a hot chocolate, reg's is matcha or an iced latte (wine if its a long day) and barty runs off of monster energy no matter what

they share a wardrobe

barty and james butt heads sometimes but its never bad, reg is always the mediator for them

when reg goes nonverbal barty and james tend to go quiet as well so he doesn't get overwhelmed

same if reg is on his period (i always hc reg as trans just so no ones confused!) they both make sure he's comfy and has snacks and plenty of cuddles

barty has night terrors so he sleeps on the edge of the bed because he's scared of thrashing but reg always cuddles him because he hates him being far away

james is first up in the morning, goes to the gym, then brings/makes them all breakfast

barty has never set foot in a gym but is somehow lean as fuck, reg's weight fluctuates so sometimes he's quite toned and other's he's a little chubbier and barty and james will never tell him that they love him like that

the sex dynamic is reg is in charge, barty and james are at his mercy, but they try and out dom each other which reg loves to watch

james and barty have this little thing together where if they both get mad they go boxing (james taught barty everything he knows and it really helps release pent up anger and frustration, this often leads to making out in the car)

regulus is usually cuddled up in the gaming chair playing bg3 in one of their hoodies because its his safe and quiet time

barty has hayfever and james always teases him for it until barty open mouth sneezes on him

james is the 'mother hen' on nights out, making sure everyone has water and gets food before going to bed

in dnd james plays a fighter or a druid, barty is either the dm or he plays a barbarian and reg is typically a rogue/wizard

they love cooking together since james' mum taught him loads of recipes and regulus tends to just let his boys cook for him as he sits on the counter and looks pretty drinking his wine, occasionally receiving kisses and thigh rubs

barty has the highest libido, then james, then regulus

but james has the most stamina

fav positions: barty - standing up/car sex/somewhere not in the bed because he's freaky james - doggy/missionary regulus - riding/prone bone

barty spams their groupchat whilst regulus basically never responds, james replies with cute emojis or a 5 minute voice note of his day so far

🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?

For Quinn--he's not really a hobby type of guy, but I suppose his would be working out, chilling with Fig, and sleeping, lol. He's pretty dedicated to his military work, and doesn't prefer to linger in idle moments lest he start spiraling mentally, so most of his recreational pursuits are more for distraction's sake. He's not even a super big gym guy, but he tends to work out as a physical outlet to get out of his own head..

Vincent has more traditional hobbies--cooking, reading, and role-playing games are some of his main ones. He's taken to learning new recipes, especially now he has a human bf to impress, and reading has always been a passion for him; he likes to escape too every once in a while (historical romance, mostly). The ongoing dnd campaign he and Stuart host with their mates is one of his joys as well. I think Vince would be down to try most hobbies, even more as a potential group activity with Quinn (Quinn is not thrilled with this development -_-)

🔶 LARGE ORANGE DIAMOND — does your oc know cpr? do they have any other medical expertise?

Both are sufficiently versed in CPR, Vincent probably moreso. Being in the military requires at least some medical knowledge, so I imagine Quinn would know the basics. Vincent is definitely more proficient, as he has some...intimate experience with certain practices. He's probably brushed up on it further now that he has a fragile mortal to protect.....

🍃 LEAVES FLUTTERING IN WIND — what is/was your oc's favorite subject in school?

Hmm...Quinn was not so big on school, so his favorite subject might've been P.E. Not that he was even particularly athletic, but it felt better being physical and distracting himself from a lot of the shit he was going through at the time. He wasn't bad in math and science early on, but he lost focus for a lot of subjects as he was finishing school. Funnily enough, his dad was a history teacher, yet Quinn never expressed any real interest in the subject to his father's disappointment.

Vincent appreciated most subjects, but he favored English literature and music. He'd always enjoyed books growing up, so he thrived in discussions about classics and modern novels of the time. Music was another pursuit that he excelled at; also helped that he had a crush on his piano teacher. He was relatively well-rounded as a student, though ancient Latin courses always bored the hell out of him

❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?

Quinn--he's determined when he needs to be, doesn't complain about arduous and shitty circumstances, and he cares..despite everything

Vincent--he's kind in a world that doesn't often accommodate that sort of courtesy, he's ambitious (and confident to boot), and he has a lot of compassion

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?

Quinn--stubborn as shit, doesn't look out for his own well-being, terminally pessimistic

Vincent--also stubborn, can be a bit pompous, gets possessive and jealous in a nasty way

🍝 SPAGHETTI — what is/are your oc's favorite food(s)?

I think I just answered this but I'll elaborate and say Quinn will literally dip anything in peanut butter and eat it; on every sandwich, with every fruit/vegetable, on fish and chips, sausage, corn, eggs,....he's beyond saving 💀

Vincent has also been experimenting with his food intake limit (aka the tummy ache threshold), so he's been able to enjoy some raw meat dishes

😊 SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES — what are your oc's career/general life desires? what do they want to get the most out of life?

oh...Quinn doesn't really let himself think about life desires. Sure, he's got his job in the military, but he doesn't see himself rising through the ranks so much as staying put and seeing how much he can get away with off the record. Truthfully, he can't picture himself having a good life at all; it's just not something he's ever considered for himself. Until...Vincent came along...

Vincent's immediate desire is for his vampirism to be cured. It's the main thing holding him back and he hasn't fully embraced his future because of the notion that he's going to 'live forever'. So finding a way to be human again might put him on a track where he can finally pursue goals again...and yeah. most of those desires will revolve around Quinn....

Non-Sims Interests

Reading: I'm a big feminist sci-fi girlie. I think about Octavia Butler every day these days. For non-fiction, the topics run the gamut. Any podcast that is history-based I consider to be 'reading' as well. I enjoy audio books because they enable me to do something else at the same time (I have a problem with feeling guilty while 'relaxing'). Recentlyish read books have been: Butter, Translation State, The Light Brigade.

Crocheting: A low-tech productive distraction! I'm not very good (I only know a few stitches) but I like the satisfaction of finishing a long-term project. I shared this with @platinumaspiration but I recently made this baby blanket for a friend:

Gardening: no secret that I garden!

Foraging: My goal is to be a little old lady who knows every leaf and branch in the woods! New things I've foraged this year include onion grass and plantains. I'll be visiting my regular mushroom spot after a haircut today to look for morels. I doubt I'll find any, but with all this rain I'll find some pheasant back mushrooms at least.

Food: This one is complicated for me, because I'd hesitate to say that I 'love' cooking, as I feel like that implies that I am good at it (I mess up all of the time) and that I want to do it everyday (we have frozen pizza at least once a week). But I like to eat, I like cooking, I like coming back to the same recipe over and over again to perfect it to my tastes, I like cooking with food I have grown or foraged, I like learning about the history behind a recipe, I like learning about the science behind why things work the way they do in food...so you know, it's safe to say it's an interest of mine! I also worked in restaurants/hospitality for about 10 years, so that's an influence. My undergraduate degree thesis had to do with urban food deserts, so food access has been an interest of mine as well.

Bicycle Maintenance: I did mention this forever ago, but I am an okay bicycle mechanic. Some of the more advanced mech skills could use a brush up for sure, but anything to do with rim brakes, I've got you. I have been teaching a bike maintenance class though my city's public school rec program for a few years now. I really do like teaching (though I would never ever do it full time, you all are saints).

Tabletop RPG's: This one is new for me! I'm doing a DnD run and a Cyberpunk Red run with friends simultaneously. DnD has me playing a barbarian who multi-classed as a druid. I call her my 'druid berserker'. She follows the path of the Hollow Bloom (DM has us in the Underdark). My Cyberpunk Red character is a medtech with a dartgun eye! She's a saccharine 'mom' figure who seems sweet, but grew up in a doomsday cult and she'll stop at nothing to get back there and take over. These are great fun to do with pals! Scratches my itch to Be A Ham™ as well.
