I finished Bones and Hulu suggested Criminal Minds, so now I’m rewatching that.

I’m much more critical of the police work this go round, I think (especially after the shenanigans Booth pulled). Even with the FBI… ACAB. Why even have rights and laws if you’re going to flagrantly disregard them? Unless the unsub is killed, they are not going to be punished because none of the evidence is going to be admissible in court.

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but Elle is a terrible agent. She’s at a witness’s house when a suspect is close by. She is calling it in, so she walks out the front door to look for the cross streets of her location. Does she not know the actual address she’s at? Did she not have to know it to get there? Surely the dispatcher can easily look up cross streets with an actual address if they needed that.

Also, I know that characters say some silly stuff for exposition, but this one was so unbelievably ham fisted. Elle just explained to the group what rohypnol is. Are you telling me 4 FBI agents need explicitly briefed on that drug? I feel like most people, even not in law enforcement, know that rohypnol is a date rape drug. The most unbelievable part was no one was like, “Yeah, we’re aware. We are FBI agents.”

Ugh, this episode has another poorly run code. They shock twice (while people are still touching her neck checking for a pulse) in quick succession and give Epi before even calling the code overhead. THEN someone announced that they’re starting compressions. Holy wrong order, Batman.

Sat down to write more Ghosts of Gotham adn Business of Family.

Have instead written an opening bit of an AU where Tim accidentally summoned a slightly eldritch Mirrorborn (clone) Queen/Ancient of the Ever Onward (Speedforce) Elle with his whole "try to clone my two dead best friends hundreds of times" thing.

...it's slowly morphing into Tim accidentally/on purpose becoming a warlock with Elle as his equal parts delighted and confused Patron to get his loved ones back. He might unintentionally start a cult (it might be intentional I don't know how unhinged this is gonna get)

sometimes I wonder if john always wears plain/kinda frayed clothes because he used to wear really over-the-top outfits during his cult leader/youtuber era and he doesn’t want to be like That again. eyeliner and capes and trying to manipulate the public in a way that ultimately doomed them all. I feel like there’s that association for him (even though he’s the only one who recognizes/remembers/regrets it) in addition to the fact that he’s like. deliberately presenting himself as humble now

OH, I definitely think it's a bit of a power trip thing for him. John's entire affable laid-back personality is intrinsically tied to the fact that he is always going to be the most powerful person in any room he's in. He's just some guy :) but what he says goes. Everyone who has the honour of meeting him shows up dolled up to the nines, but he'd just grab any old shirt. He could speak in a whisper and everyone would shut up and strain to listen to every single word he's saying.

But also yess, I think the fact that he had to play wizard on the internet for attention could be something he has resentment over. Like, he was a scientist, early on he approached his powers in a very analytical way, and ended up ditching it all because "people just want the magic bullet" (and John's narration is pretty angry at that point). I think it's less regret at what ultimately happened and more of a pride angle, imo. He's still doing theatrics and manipulating the public but he does it on his own terms, probably gets a bit of a kick when he asks the Erebos personnel to be a little less formal knowing they never will.

(Though I also think that on a personal level John truly isn't a fan of the excessive grandiosity and ceremony that follows him wherever he goes, and it's part of why I think many of the religious aspects came from the lyctors rather than him)

we already have that deleted scene of nyra trying to teach aeg to pronounce her name but i digress...

viserys already neglects nyra in his own way, telling the realm she is his heir but not actually teaching her her duties (as his heir or otherwise), by upholding her as his heir in proclamation he is assuaging his guilt to his wife's death (as if that's all it took), so it stands that if she got the chance and took it (as even i am aware how hard it must have been to come to terms with your new half siblings, your new half siblings popping one after another, threatening your position, from your former best friend), but if she had gripe with it and made peace with her half siblings,

i bet my bottom dollar aegon would be absolutely obsessed with his older sister, that age gap would be enough for aegon to be completely obsessed with nyra's attention, and his natural lax attitude would put nyra to ease.

helaena would find her presence soothing, as she takes enough personality that she can gather spotlight but has that undertone of maternal care (oldest daughters will always develop a maternal instinct of some kind if they're around enough, speaking as an oldest sibling lol, especially to a disjointed family function) that she would find it easy to be around her. would find her drawl of bugs boring but would indulge her nevertheless. her only sister sparking so much with life from little critters, she cannot possibly bereave her this.

aemond would have an older sister who could scold aegon for being a twat— and aegon, enamoured with nyra so much he had proposed to her when he was five, would be properly chastised and listen to whatever she said — and at the same time share her enjoyment with literature, with high valyrian and their ancestral roots. would have someone to share a lookin a room when someone made a stupid comment and share an eye roll and a giggle. would boast about their uncle daemon like a couple of fangirls.

even baby daeron would find nyra fun, her baby brother with his blue dragon against her gold, teaching him to properly care and bond with tessarion and at the same time teaching him how to have fun. the youngest brother rarely knows the taste of power. she would be most at eased with him.

even if otto bares down hard on alicent's anxiety— which is such a fucked up thing to do, and i've worked in a hospital lmao — aegon would not budge, would refuse with a hiss and gritted teeth even a whisper of treason against his sister. his sister whose skirts he clung to when they got harsh with his lack of interest in education or ruling, his sister whose disappointed look had made him cry worse than any hard hit of his grandsire, his sister who raced him with sunfyre and syrax, who made jokes on who is the prettiest dragon.

the minute alicent tells them that viserys said aegon was his heir, aegon would snort wine so hard he'd blow it out his asshole. because he was never his father's favourite, never was his son nor his child. and that hurt but he didn't care.

because nyra was his sister. and so was his heir.
