In an ancient Ming Dynasty ship, they encounter monstrous creatures and puzzling traps. Wu Xie opens the box that he obtained from the Seven Star Coffins of Lu Wang's Palace to discover a snake-browed copper fish. Uncle Wu San Xing recounts the strange occurrences over ten years ago when they went on an archaeological expedition to Paracel Islands. 26. Seeing Himeko with a violin makes more sense than I'm capable to explain, but it simply makes a ton of sense lol (also, butterfly) and I did picture her with one before ever seeing any of it. It ism however, a very missed oppurtunity to show the Lorenz attractor in the backround

27. This I would like to call, Caelus having an exsistential crisis, or finding out he's a ghibli character (which is basicaly the same process I believe)

30. We aren't super sure what this part is suppose to say, but perhaps we've been all those important super cool people once? Maybe increnation or simply we before the Stellaron, or perhaps the Stellaron itself? Or perhaps we are simply the representation of humanity itself, all the things we achived and explored already, what we have been able to see

31. Again, not a character one, but still super cool. Is it intentional? I don't know but that's an ouroboros before it descends into a spiral with an image similar to a neuron in the backround

33. Remember the classical concert the Nameless are giving? Look, some closeups while the train is shooting through them heh (We needed an embarrassingly long time to figure out how Himeko is positioned to hold the bow like that ^^'')

34. Still in the same classical sense (that's not even an AU, it's canon from now on that we sometimes just whip out instruments and play classical music on the Express), Caelus is playing the trumpet

35. This is perhaps one of my favourite shots/transitions in the animatic as a whole, it's so powerful! I know I said I won't go too much into symbolic and story but...how could I not with this particular picture?

Caelus is positioned in a very similar pose to the fatal position (that one in the womb), while Kafka and Himeko are each on one side, because both are our "mothers". I know it's seen as a joke to call those two Mommy characters, but towards the Trailblazer they very much are (Himeko even to all three of the "children"). Kafka on the left, our previous life, Himeko on the right, our future life. In the middle we stand.

Also, not to mention that those two met for chess, standing for maybe a strategic plan, or...well let's be honest those two meet all the time for various intrests (one being definitively one another), if they wouldn't and Kafka wouldn't trust Himeko, she would never leave us with the coffee lady (I mean that coffee kills)

59-60. A disabled registration chip from the labour camp that you kept after escaping, even though it would be a really stupid thing to have on you if you’re ever back in that sector of space.

61-62. A tiny bag of glittering micro-crystals from the surface of a moon. Worthless, but so pretty.

63-64. A canister of engineering lubricant that you are literally never without.

65-66. A tattoo of a series of unknown symbols that you and your buddies from your old military unit got after a particularly hellish mission. None of you took any pictures of the lab you found them in, but somehow all of you remembered them perfectly.

67-68. A portable mining lamp your dad ‘borrowed’ when they decommissioned the old colony. The batteries on this thing are incredible, as they haven’t run out nearly 55 years later.

69-70. A seashell from the first time you ever saw an ‘ocean’ after growing up in space.

71-72. A portable personal forcefield that only stops rain, from the first time you experienced ‘weather’ and decided you didn’t like it very much.

73-74. The helmet of a spacesuit that has clearly been partially melted through by some sort of acidic substance and which you refuse to answer questions about.

75-76. An object which you found in a junk bin at a salvage yard and which no one you’ve ever met has been able to identify.

77-78. A single live seed in a viability canister that everyone who leaves your homeworld is given to take with them.

79-80. A religious pamphlet that some nutjob on the hub station gave you. It’s got some seriously weird and somewhat apocalyptic stuff in there, but for some reason you haven’t thrown it away yet.

81-82. A well-read, second-hand copy of ‘Myths of Hyperspace: A Collection of Spacer Tales’ that you bought for funsies and totally don’t believe in, no sir.

83-84. A collection of antique medical equipment that your old captain gave to you, for reasons you aren’t entirely sure of.

91-92. A tiny realistic-looking but robotic animal that was the only type of pet allowed on your company’s spaceships.

95-96. A dog-eared magazine containing a two-page spread of the most beautiful spaceship you’ve ever seen in your life, and which you’ve sworn to yourself that you will one day own.

Kinktober and an Apology

I wanted to do this quickly, because I know a lot of you are waiting for the bingo cards - and sadly I have run into a bit of trouble with that so far.

While two of my IRL friends are helping me with the selection of "tropes"/prompts, I (@alpaca-clouds) am doing the cards on my own, and sadly I am currently struggling with big time issues because of health related stuff - and because I am spending way too much time at work.

And because of that I am working very slowly through the cards. Though I hope that come the end of next week, this will hopefully look up finally, because work should get better then. Fingers crossed!

The Electrodon usually is in a lair, but Grizzly emphasizes that for some reason, it was outside of its usual hunting grounds. 

“Here’s what you need to think about, think about it like this: [...] why was it so close to the surface? Why wasn’t it in its lair? Why was it attacking your ship? Why was it trying to eat you?” Grizzly

Hunts by making creatures in the water near it vulnerable to lightning damage, which it has in spades. 

Grizzly just further emphasizes to Gillion and Jay that the Electrodon being so close to the surface is really abnormal.

Pallas is now more of a trigger, setting off what the slower-moving planets are up to. Basically, it’s a good time to explore and branch out in Pallas’ various areas:
