I honestly don’t know how to write this; I have spent all week attempting to figure out what to say.
Last Monday I was informed by our factory that our merchandiser and direct point of contact with the factory passed away unexpectedly two weeks ago. She was someone who I have spent a great deal of time speaking to ever since we switched factories two years ago. She helped us realize designs for new products, sent us samples of garments extremely quickly and kept track of all our orders. She went to bat for us if something went wrong with our print shop or if I was unhappy with how a garment pattern was interpreted by their team. As their first American client and a brand that focuses on size inclusion, something that is not typical of their other clients, she handled a lot of crazy requests from us without blinking and she was dedicated to ensuring that both us and our customers were happy. We talked nearly every day, and though it was work related she was one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure interacting with daily.
She was beyond dedicated to her work and to working with us. Turkey has an 11-hour time difference from me in California, which means when she was emailing me at 2pm in the afternoon it was 1am there. You can sure bet that I extended her the same courtesy and tried my best to answer her emails at night too, even when I would rather just be sleeping.
It was also clear just how much she loved her job, and now much she loved you guys. She had been silently watching our social media since we first started working with them. She got just as excited as we did on launch days and would often email me unprompted about how she was glad people were leaving such positive comments and reviews. She read your feedback when no one ever asked her to do that or even expected it of her. She did it because she really, really cared.
Even though she was miles away and we never met in person, she was like a coworker to me and the loss of her is like losing someone on our team.
The Maya Kern team, as a whole, has been dealing with a lot lately. I personally just moved (which took far longer than we expected) and Maya and Devin are gearing up to move back to Minneapolis pretty soon. With the loss of our merchandizer, it has taken the wind out of my sails a little bit. I was trying to push through, even though I am exhausted, and carry out the photo shoot for our new products this weekend, but it has become clear that my body just can’t handle it. My arthritis has finally told me to stop moving, so unfortunately, we are going to have to reschedule the shoot for later on.
We are doing everything we can to make sure our next product drop on the 21st still happens. But as of right now, due to this sudden loss, the garments haven’t even shipped from the factory yet and I am not optimistic that they will clear customs and get checked into the fulfillment center in time for the launch. This means the drop is likely going to be pushed back to December 5th and instead of a full photo shoot, we will probably have to settle for taking quick photos of everyone at home, and likely with our phones.
We work really hard to deliver not just garments we believe in, but also pictures of said garments on bodies that our customers can relate to, and unfortunately I just do not think that is possible this time. As always, we really appreciate your patience and understanding during what has been a very difficult time for us.

Hello I have a request, if you aren't doing requests please ignore this! But anyways the request is that may I have the TWST characters (especially the housewardens) and how would they react see their s/o in like traditional clothing from their world (example: Chinese traditional clothing is like qipao) Thank you so much! Have a fabulous day 💝
Qipao (Traditional & Modern) Reactions
Housewardens x Reader
Tumblr media
Riddle
Traditional
Thinks the dress is beautiful. Even though it's loose, it still carries an air of professionalism. A perfect garment for his lovely rose. Really likes the modest nature of them.
Asks you lots of questions on the history of the garment if you know it. Ask if he could wear one as well. Just so many questions, he's pulled out a notebook to take notes.
Matching rose patterned qipao/tang suit for walks in the garden together!
Modern
WHY IS THE SLIT SO HIGH!?
Still thinks it's a very pretty dress, but he can not stop looking at the thigh slit. It compels him. Good lord, you're not even wearing tights!
Struggling to remain polite, but the dress is form fitting and you have a very lovely ass- excuse him, he needs to...be...out of the public eye.
Leona
Traditional
Jokingly calls it your fancy potato sack. Apologizes if you get actually mad at him calling it that.
Lowkey, he really likes it and does enjoy that it's still comfortable enough for you to nap with him. Half serious asks if they're pajamas.
Will start wearing Dashikis when you wear your qipao. Cultural matching ❤️
Modern
AYO-
Goes dead silent, his eyes are watching your every move. The dress is tight, the slit is mid thigh. You look good and he's pissed you're not in grabbing distance.
Tells you you can't wear that qipao outside of his room. Not even Ramshackle. Now walk closer, he's gonna...grab ya.
Azul
Traditional
Fascinated and asking questions. Both about the cultural history and the manufacturing side.
Thinks it's a very lovely dress with high marketing potential; simple yet perfect for all class levels due to the fabric and embroidery you can make with it.
Lowkey wants to gift you some more because he just likes them so much and he thinks you look elegant in them (Be his spouse please).
Modern
Honestly, it took him a hot minute to really notice. Since modern qipaos are made to be so fancy, he first started picking it apart to discern value like he does all new things.
Really noticed the silhouette and how revealing it was once he looked at the chest area and saw how tight it was.
Compliments the dress but then says he has important business to do. No, he will NOT stand up-
Kalim
Traditional
OH! You look so pretty! You always look pretty, but the qipao just makes you look EXTRA pretty like every other thing you wear.
He's breaking down the outfit by the quality of fabric alone. He pouts it's not 100% some super rare silk that only grows in 4 parts of the world in Spring during the rain on a full moon.
Whining at you and Jamil to let him make so many qipaos. He will have a literal factory up and running by mid day just to make you more of these gorgeous slips so that you're always cozy.
Modern
Nearly ruins it doing a spit take at seeing you. The boy is too stunned to speak, mouth open and getting coconut juice all over his front.
Once he snaps out of it he's all smiles again and asking you to show it off. Do a spin! The fabic is so pretty when you twirl, can you dance in it!? Come dance with him!
Lowkey just way too excited about you being in them. Fills him with some kind of energy where he just wants to hold you and spin around with you. Keeps fighting himself to not get down on one knee.
Vil
Traditional
'Oh?'
Interested in them but has his complaints (as always). He doesn't like how they hang shapeless, but the positives manage to outweigh the negatives in its function and appearance. Over all thinks its a cute house dress design and that you look nice in them.
Ends up commissioning some silk qipaos to have as lounge wear. Being comfortable, yet ready to host is an amazing new option he's gained.
Modern
'OH!?'
More complaints but it's because the dress is so sexy. It's too tight, the slit shows too much thigh, the boob window is unnecessary. He won't stop complaining but lowkey is so FLUSTERED.
He keeps tugging and picking at the outfit like he isn't pulling you into his lap to mutter into your neck all his frustrations on having such an attractive partner.
Idia
Traditional
Almost didn't really notice because he was showing you something in his game. Once he does notice he remarks on how nice you look.
Honestly, doesn't say much about it but will take notice if you wear them a lot when you go see him. He'll ask about them, asks if you really like them. He can and will buy you a bunch of them in various colors and patterns.
He does get you matching ones of your mains in the current MMO he's dragged you into. Lazy cosplaying for the win.
Modern
He took one look and froze, only unfroze because he started dying in game.
How could you do this? Why have you come into his room looking SEXY and forced him to look at you? What do you think hes gonna do???? Rip your clothes off and throw you on the bed????
He keeps peeking at you then turning away with his hair giving away just how flustered he is. Still manages to stutter out how nice you look.
Malleus
Traditional
Oh look at this. His lovely child of man is in new clothing. Please give him the entire history on the garment.
Lowkey, I think he'd really like them. It's very simple but with the potential of being super fancy just with easy fabric choices and embroidery.
Compliments you all the time when he sees you wearing one. Asks if only certain people can wear them. Do you think he'd look good in one? Just really likes them.
Modern
"...So, would you like a Summer wedding?"
This a dangerous game. He loves you so much already, but now you show him how attractive you are in tight clothing that shows off your skin? He will marry you, he will marry you so fast.
Lowkey rips it on accident, and apologies for hours. God forbid if you got one with a dragon winding around you. He honeslty got a little territorial and that's why his claws got caught on the stitching...

One-of-a-Kind Charles and Ray Eames Chair in Ultra-Rare Zebrawood with Rosewood Ottoman.
Charles and Ray Eames designed their lounge chair and ottoman for Herman Miller in 1956, and the couple’s masterpiece became an instant classic of midcentury design as models 670 and 671. The Eameses, though, were aesthetically unbending, keen to ensure that their signature design was produced only in materials that they approved. As a result, the design exclusively used Brazilian rosewood until 1990. This example from the early 1970s, though, is an intriguing, and rare, deviation from their directives.
The previous owner of this chair and ottoman confided that it was an employee at the Herman Miller factory who took a zebrawood plywood sheet and pressed it into the formwork for the 670 lounge chair, a daring and rule-breaking feat. The bottom of the seat cushion is signed “Ken Lyon 1971,” probably the name of the employee who produced the chair as a one-off.
Zebrawood is its own unique material, a special cross-veneer- patterned wood offered on Peter Protzmann furniture for just two years, 1971 and 1972. It’s likely that Lyon took a piece of the raw material and surreptitiously used it to produce a one-of-a-kind Eames chair and ottoman. It’s an intriguing mystery: Was it a special order for a client, a fellow employee, or himself?
The fine, smooth khaki-green-leather upholstery is a recent addition. The ottoman is believed to be the original matching ottoman, though it has Brazilian rosewood veneer.

winterscribe is a pony of many different talents, one of which is being the diversity hire (only earth pony) at the ice section of the weather factory. he's incredibly talented at hoof-carving snowflakes and his designs are used as templates for the other ponies to follow. on top of this, he's a bit of a writer and would like to get published one day!
weather report is pretty straigthforward: he reports the weather. he's done some work planning weekly and monthly weather patterns as well, but he's well known for his incredibly entertaining weather reports

The Quiet Equation - Part 3
Toto Wolff x You
The kiss changed everything.
Not because it was rushed, not because it was scandalous—it wasn’t. It was slow, intentional. Like he was memorizing the shape of your mouth. Like he was answering every unspoken word you’d never had the nerve to say out loud.
But it was what happened after that defined it.
Toto didn’t pull away quickly.
He lingered—his forehead pressed lightly to yours, the weight of his palm resting against your neck, his thumb just behind your ear. And he said nothing. You said nothing. The silence was full of meaning, and for the first time, it didn’t feel awkward.
It felt like trust.
That night, he drove you home.
No driver. No team car. Just him behind the wheel of a sleek black AMG, one hand resting on the gearshift, the other occasionally brushing your knee, like it needed to confirm this was real.
You didn’t go to your flat.
You went to his.
The house in Oxfordshire was all soft lighting and clean lines, stone walls and quiet wood—nothing flashy, but built with taste. Like everything he touched. His life was designed to be both efficient and beautiful.
He gave you a sweatshirt. Not one of the sleek ones with logos—just an old one. A little faded. From before Mercedes. Maybe before everything. It smelled like him. Musk, clean cotton, and a trace of bergamot.
He made you tea again—this time in a real mug, in a real kitchen, where you stood barefoot and blinking in disbelief while he gently set the cup into your hands and kissed the corner of your mouth like it was second nature.
You talked that night. Not about the team. Not about projects.
About Vienna, and your childhood. About the first car you ever loved. About being too smart, too quiet, too invisible until someone finally noticed—and how terrifying and comforting it was to be seen.
He told you, softly, “You don’t intimidate me. You inspire me.”
And you fell asleep with your head on his chest, your fingers tucked beneath the hem of his t-shirt, the steady drum of his heartbeat grounding you like a lullaby.
.
In the weeks that followed, it became a pattern. You still showed up to the factory like nothing had changed. Still wore your pass. Still took notes. Still kept your mind sharp and your words few.
But Toto saw everything.
His hand on your lower back as you passed each other in the corridor. The warm smile he reserved only for you when you walked into a meeting. The way he lingered in doorways just to talk for two more minutes.
He'd leave handwritten notes on your desk sometimes. Folded precisely.
You’ve ruined my ability to concentrate, and I don’t mind. —T
Or:
Dinner. 8pm. The place with the lemon risotto you pretended not to love. —T
And your favorite:
The way your brain works is art. I want to watch you think forever. —T
There were stolen kisses in quiet hallways.
Your knees brushing beneath private lunch tables.
A night when it rained so heavily you were stuck in the wind tunnel hangar together, and he just—pulled you in, arms wrapped around you as the storm howled outside. No words. Just breath, closeness, the faint scent of engine oil and cologne.
When the lights flickered, you didn’t even flinch.
Toto kissed the top of your head and whispered, “Safe with me, always.”
And in moments when it felt like too much—like the world might frown on what was blooming between two very different people—you found shelter in the fact that none of it felt wrong.
.
On your last official day at Mercedes, he took you to a quiet lake on the edge of the countryside. No one around. Just wind in the trees, a blanket laid out in the grass, and a little picnic basket packed by someone who cared.
You both watched the sunset.
He brushed a strand of hair behind your ear and said, “I know I wasn’t supposed to find this. Not here. Not now. But I did.”
You looked at him. That tall frame. That careful expression. That truth living behind his eyes.
And you whispered, “Me too.”
He didn’t kiss you this time.
He held you.
And somehow, that was more intimate than anything else could’ve been.

My Fashion HCs for Teenage/YA Stan Marsh
Disclaimer: These are just my design notes that I consider when designing/drawing Stan and my personal interpretation of how I think he would dress and present himself! You're free to disagree or even take inspo from this. I don't own clothes nor your opinion. 🫶 Please also feel free to let me know your personal fashion HCs through the comments or tags as well. I'd love to hear other people's interpretations of these characters and I'm always collecting new HCs!!
Starting off strong:
A loser
Alt/grunge/punk kind of style.
He likes to think he’s well dressed, and he wouldn’t be too wrong, but that’s if we’re assuming he has the energy to put in effort in his fit. If he’s depressed, it’s whatever’s the cleanest in his room.
Typa guy to wear his undies inside out (thanks @mantequillamcwhoremick)
He’s got some DIY piercings.
One earlobe piercing, one eyebrow piercing, and one lip piercing. He got them in that order. Was a wuss for each one, and stopped getting more after the lip piercing.
Definitely cried the first time around, lol. Kenny helped him walk through the process.
Not like he knew any more than him though. Stan just assumed Kenny would be familiar with this type of stuff.
He was not.
They ended up looking up a tutorial on youtube and prayed for the best
He’s also got small DIY tattoos
Not exactly sure what kind? Something small and generic, like a star. Or a music note. Somewhere inconspicuous like on his wrist or his ankle.
He also got help from Kenny for that one. And once again, he’s just as clueless as Stan.
OVERSIZED EVERYTHING. Idk I'm projecting my NB-ism onto him but I like to think it gives him gender euphoria for when he doesn’t want to feel particularly masc.
Will occasionally wear eyeliner (got this hc from the bitchless au author)
Only when they're feeling comfy though.
He wishes he was sooo punk and sooo alt, but he is a fast fashion king (thanks @alottodix). He does not customize, DIY or add studs to his clothes. He gets that shit straight from Hot Topic that was probably made by some child in China working in an industrial factory, being paid pennies.
Colors
Reds and blues. Colors like burgundy, carmine, and vermillion for the reds. For the blues, he’ll wear navys and denims the most.
The usual neutrals of course, like black, white, sometimes beige. But his go to is brown that he uses for accent colors.
I don’t think he’d really incorporate a lot of patterns. The most he’d go is big stripes. He prefers more graphic elements.
In terms of actual clothes:
Tops
Band. T-Shirts. This should be self explanatory.
Sometimes ripped. Alterations were either already included when he bought it or someone did it for him (either Henrietta or Kenny).
Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Deftones, Arctic Monkeys, Linkin Park, Radiohead, etc. etc. The list goes on.
He’s tried bleaching some dark t-shirts to give it a cool design. It didn’t go too well. Now he just has t-shirts with bleach marks on them.
He’d probably wear his Tegridy shirt out of convenience occasionally, but he’d wear it inside out, or he’d find a way to cross out the Tegridy logo.
Hoodies. Oversized ones, too.
Sometimes some shorter sleeved hoodies that he layers on top of longer sleeve stuff.
Oversized dress shirts, but it’s not his go-to. Has one pair of long sleeves and one pair of short sleeves and that’s it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pants
Baggy jeans.
Baggy cargo pants.
The baggy pants are all frayed at the ends because keep getting caught under his shoe and dragging against the concrete, but also he has no normal belts. All he has are studded belts and sometimes that’s too edgy for the occasion.
Oversized jorts that reach his knees.
Cargo shorts. Esp those with the little belts/strings hanging down.
Normal jeans too. Ripped. Probably bought them ripped and didn’t rip them up himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jackets/Coats
Flannel but he wears it well. Specifically a red flannel.
Oversized jackets. Specifically this one brown leather/aviator kind of jacket he got from Jimbo that just swallows him whole.
And normal leather jackets too, of course.
Denim jackets with patches on it (Kenny sewed it for him)
Letterman/varsity jackets from his quarterback days (he doesn’t play anymore, but they still fit).
Bomber jackets
Barn coats
For winter, just a regular old winter jacket or a puffer jacket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shoes
Thickkkk boots, like Doc Martens. He thinks he’s soooo fashionable for wearing them (he’s not). The tall soles give him the extra height he wants.
Incredibly worn red sneakers with frayed shoelaces from years or not tying them properly.
Oh and high-top converse shoes too, lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Accessories
Some alt/punk-ish jewelry he got from the goth kids and the occasional outings they’d do at Hot Topic. Jewelry includes:
Rings (specifically the kinds that are chunky and/or have some kind of cool engravings on them)
Earrings + piercings. Some have crosses on them
Wallet chains.
Studded leather bracelets.
All silver.
Arm sweatbands. He started wearing them while working at Tegridy but ended up thinking he looked good with it, so he sometimes uses it to accessorize.
There’s a point where he’s embarrassed about his goth phase and doesn’t wear it as often, but when the trend resurfaces and becomes “cool” again he starts testing the waters again and wearing his stuff more.
Wears Jimbo’s dog tag, esp to piss off Randy. Almost as a “fuck you, Jimbo’s a better dad than you’ll ever be.”
Studded belts. The only belts he has. If he needs some normal ones, he’ll raid Randy’s closet.
Leather bangles, specifically a thick one. He likes to use that whenever he’s cosplaying or LARPing.
Leather rope bracelets that he wraps around his wrist (like the kind you have to wrap around your arm yourself, not the kind that's already weaved)
And also this piece of loose leather string that he just wraps around his wrist as a makeshift bracelet (that he also uses for cosplaying and LARPing).
Occasionally he has to wear an arm brace for wrist/hand pain because of his carpal tunnel (from playing League too much)
Oh and residual pain from when he got shot ig
One time he wore some ripped up arm warmers and got called gay for it. Never wore them again.
Wool mittens when he’s younger, wool gloves when he’s older.
Fingerless gloves when he wants to be edgy
Band button pins and whatever thing he wants to virtue signal
Oh and glasses. Lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hats
All of the hats are to hide his greasy hair
Such as:
Beanies
His stupid puffball hat/toque (im canadian we call them toques here)
Caps
Other miscellaneous stuff:
Bro is NOT well groomed:
It’s hard to shower when you’re depressed and working on a weed farm.
Speaking of weed, he has the faintest scent of it lingering on him, even if he doesn’t smoke it.
He doesn’t smell horrible, but he certainly doesn’t smell like daisies and roses either.
Definitely leaning more towards bad.
He’s at the very least self-aware when he does smell bad and feels bad for it.
Tries to put on deodorant. If he can remember it.
Definitely wrinkly clothes. All of his clothes are on a pile and he just picks one from it.
Hair
His iconic overgrown, badly bleached hair, of course.
Or just his regular black hair.
Either regular length or getting near shoulder length.
He’d rock a mullet well.
Leaves it hanging or ties it with a hair tie.
He tries not to let it get too long because he gets sick of Cartman calling him a hippie.
His outfit combos:
I didn’t include this section in Kyle’s HC, but that’s because he’s the exception. That ginger has no outfit combos to be had.
Anyways! Stan’s pretty good at layering, so these are some of the ways he’d layer his clothes:
Oversized t-shirt on top of anything: long sleeve dress shirt, short sleeve dress shirt, turtleneck, etc.
Jacket over hoodie.
Jacket on jacket on whatever’s underneath (t-shirt or whatever)
He wears his flannels buttoned up (not all the way, of course), open, wrapped around his waist, and wrapped around his neck. It's more of an accessory than anything.

Diagnosis: Kinda queer. But passable 👍

Stitch Sunday
Happy Sunday all! Although it seems quiet on here today, I did want to share my most recently completed stitch projects. I’m super proud of them, and who doesn’t like a behind-the-scenes post? Everything is below the cut because the first is smut and the second is my Valentine's Day card for the Discord exchange. (I agreed to do the full list, so if you haven't received yours yet, stop reading after naked Simon!)
I am so pleased with how my first submission for EGF turned out. If you haven't seen it yet, find the post here. I created no less than FOUR body designs for Baz while trying to find one where he looked good naked from every angle. As promised, here is EVERY angle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the unexpected challenges I ran into was that once the harness arrived, it was not the perfect fit I'd hoped for. Baz's angle made it so that there was a sizable gap between his back and the leather straps, so another skill I have now added to my repertoire is leather-working! I bought a kit, cut the straps down to the right size, poked new holes where they were needed, and hammered new studs in myself! Progress pic below.
Tumblr media
Once I nailed Baz and his harness, I made my Simon pattern. The biggest difference is how exaggerated I had to make every curve in order to give Simon the fluffy body he deserves. Here are his angles!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at that little fold of felt where his thigh meets his torso. I love it so much!
As for my valentines, I knew I wanted to lean into my reputation as "the doll artist" somehow, so I sent everyone a Baz finger puppet! While you may have seen a version of this puppet before for COC, he got a slight upgrade for the exchange. I lined his jacket to make it sturdier, developed a better pattern for his widow's peak, and his shirt now boasts three hand-sewn seed bead buttons. (I grew more confident with the later models, so some of those puppets also boast real lapels on the jacket.)
Overall, I am super proud of myself for making just shy of 40 of these adorable puppets and spreading a little bit of the doll joy to as many people as I could!
Tumblr media
Until we meet again, hellos and high-fives from the doll factory.

i used to have more posts on this blog. i know i used to have more.
i dont know why they disappeared, i presume that maybe lavenderconstellation deleted the blogs they were using to advertise and my posts went with it. i archived a couple of them on the wayback machine, but due to unforseen circumstances(namely the internet archive currently being down) i cannot grab those links right now.
let it be known that lavenderconstellation is a dropshipping scam. they take products from aliexpress and such and sell them at a huge markup. they steal designs from actual artists. they get their products from factories overseas that frequently have horrific working conditions. do not buy from these scumbags.
they try to trick people by making "normal" meme posts, spamming them with trending tags, and then CHANGING the post to one of their shitty ads once it gets notes to trick people into continuing to reblog because they believe the post is credible.
do not be tricked by these people.
EDIT 12/6/24: i found the wayback machine link to a previous post of mine that explains the pattern of these scammy posts better, here it is, you can also find a post i made before that one in the notes of this post from meme-finder! stay safe, keep your money, don't support dropshippers!

I truly forget sometimes that copyright exists even when I see branded tech, just because most my Things are just individual companies' iteration on a common design standard. Like, when I want to buy a new pair of headphones I get 20 different, legitimately identical (produced on the same tooling!) versions of a standard IPX8-compliant design using a set catalogue of microchips and waterproof plastic filament available to a factory in jiangsu with exceptionally well-maintained e-commerce pages. my camera is sold officially branded by like seven different film companies with the only difference being in the shape and finish of the casing. also why I will never understand the 'no variety under communism!!' thing, the 'variety' under capitalism amounts to just different companies selling the exact same thing, because the design constraints are the same for all companies, usually: cost and profit. all the cameras want to minimise material use, so all of them are little bumpy rectangular cuboids. I chose mine because its specific design shaped and patterned its plastic shell to mimic old shiny-silver cameras of the flashbulb days, not because of the specific corporation the factory produced it in contract with.

is there any chance that you will make your skirts in a more durable fabric than polyester? i bought one many years ago and it became pilly and uncomfortable pretty quickly. i would be willing to pay more for a skirt that i know would last a lifetime, or at least 5-10 years. cotton or rayon both have longer lifespans.
i’m sorry you had that experience! i know many of our customers have skirts from us that have lasted them quite a few years. unfortunately, if you got a skirt many years ago, then that was actually from our old manufacturer, which had some quality and consistency issues that started out small and irregular and then snowballed into the reason why we changed factories. our new factory is much more consistent and delivers higher quality sewing using higher quality materials than our previous factory did.
we only started producing thru them in 2022, so i don’t have 10 years worth of history with them to report on, but i do have multiple garments from them that i wear consistently that have worn very well.
also, as for the longevity of a garment—polyester actually lasts considerably longer than cotton or rayon. the reason shein clothing falls apart quickly (or in this case, the reason the specific skirt you got from us pilled so fast 🥲) isn’t because it’s made of polyester, it’s because that specific polyester fabric had low structural integrity, likely due to having lower thread count, meaning there is more space between the individual threads for them to get snagged on things out in the world or in the wash (and older washing machines are particularly bad for this, as agitators cause a lot of friction that destroys clothing).
our new skirts use a much higher threadcount polyester that is not likely to suffer the same fate as that other skirt. similarly, when you go thrifting, you’ll see that a lot of polyester garments from the 80s have survived and done quite well because a good quality poly can basically last forever, but a lot of places these days use the cheapest possible fabric regardless of what type of fabric they’re using which is why clothing falls apart so fast now.
OK but onto the cotton/rayon/etc question for our printed skirts—i actually have an update on this past what is in our FAQ. i would really like to be able to make some printed cotton or viscose skirts and we are trying to work out a way to make this feasible, but there are two main problems: one, the fabric would have to be roll printed, which means either only printing repeating patterns (so no hem design patterns, which are our most popular ones) or switching to rectangle skirts instead of circle skirts (which still may not solve the hem design problem but is a thing we’re looking into; this would also mean the skirts would look different and wouldn’t spin well, but they would still be cute) and two, pricing.
the first issue is really just about problem solving and customer education for us. the second issue is, up to this point, we have had a lot of difficulty trying to sell printed designs on natural fibers because it is unfortunately out of most of our customers’ budgets. because our clothing is made with certified ethical labor, our garments will always cost more than most others, even when we are using polyester instead of natural fibers. and so far we’ve been able to survive that, if only narrowly, because we have wonderful people who love our clothing and can afford the occasional $60 skirt. i don’t know if that will still be true for something more expensive and that’s really scary.

Utility Dress
1940s
Even in wartime there was still time for dinner, dancing and other special occasions; time for the 1940s woman to get dressed up and go out on the town. This elegant dress is dusky pink and made from polyester with sequins and embroidered flower details. It was worn in the daytime, or in the evening with a jacket or coat, and a hat. This dress is simple and plain in design, with a round neck, slightly gathered waist and a calf-length skirt. This dress is called a Utility Dress because it was made under the Utility Scheme. This scheme was introduced in 1941 when the British Government rationed clothes. Since there was less fabric available, clothes had to be simpler and plainer in design. The government provided clothes patterns to tailors and factories to make clothes that followed their rules. The rules limited the amount of fabric that could be used, along with a limit on the number of buttons, pleats and pockets. Inside the dress is the label 'CC41' which stands for Civilian Clothing 1941. This shows that the dress was from a government-approved pattern in 1941. The government involved famous fashion designers to make the Utility designs popular. Hardy Amies and Norman Hartnell were among those 1940s designers who created streamlined and stylish dresses with the CC41 Utility Mark. This dress was worth 7 clothing coupons in wartime. (A coat was worth 14, while a pair of socks was 1 coupon.) In 1941, each person had 66 coupons for the year.

Kai from Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma painted with Marie’s Watercolours on Watson paper. I had to start with a simple portrait for my first attempt at painting him. His design is harder to draw than I expected. The mask, kimono pattern, and his hair all gave me difficulty. Coloring him was a lot easier than Fubuki though! His hair was ultramarine straight from the tube, and his kimono was my favorite rose paint! Even his skin was pretty much pure burnt sienna. I only struggled a little bit with getting the right amount of paint for his skin to be dark enough without being splotchy. His color palette is so vibrant and beautiful!
