It's WIP Wednesday once again! I've got some Impound for you because it's been a while and it's still not finished (I've been working on Sparrow instead and just hit 55k today which is pretty exciting).
Contains: Blue collar Simon, Price as a cop, petty nonsense from men who should know better, but they're unfortunately not very emotionally intelligent
That’s when he saw the cruiser, parked on the street out front, too close to the fire hydrant.
Not blocking it, exactly, but still too close. If it were anyone else, he’d’ve let it slide, since the fire crew would still be able to get to the hydrant. But it was Price, and he’d just warned him about this very thing.
He pulled out his phone. “Hey, Johnny?” he said as soon as the line picked up, not waiting for Johnny to speak. “Send Roach out to city hall. Got someone parked by a fire ‘ydrant.”
“Fer fuck’s sake, Si, isnae the feckin’ cop again?”
“It is. I’ll come round to handle the paperwork. Won’t make you do it.”
“Awlright, but dinnae let him catch Roach at it neither. Ye know he’ll say somethin’ stupid and get his arse arrested.”
“Oh I know. Lad dun’t know ‘ow to keep his trap shut.” Simon hung up and headed back inside, hardly paying attention to the meeting, his eyes flicking back to Price over and over again, and holding whenever he found Price looking back. It was clear that neither of them retained anything said, too busy glaring at each other over the heads of the people sitting between them.
Simon got out of the building first, and stood off to the side to smoke another cigarette, leaning against a tree where he could get a good view of Price’s reaction when he came out to find his cruiser missing yet again.
He didn’t disappoint. He came out of the building a few minutes after the initial crush of humanity, talking to Kate and Nikolai. Price stopped in his tracks a little ways out the door, focused in on where his cruiser was supposed to be, and immediately scanned the vicinity, his whole body going rigid, hands tightening into fists, shoulders squared up for war, jaw set like concrete. His blazing blue eyes found Simon, and he marched over without saying a word, leaving Nikolai and Kate looking confused, and then amused when they realized what must have happened.
Price stopped in front of him, fury radiating off of him like heat off an engine, all that energy practically warping the space between them. “What’s your fuckin’ problem, mate?” he asked, jabbing a finger against Simon’s chest.
“No problem. I was ‘ere the whole time, wasn’t I?” Simon batted Price’s hand away, resisting the impulse to punch him for having the nerve to lay his bloody hands on him in the first place. Price was lucky that Simon was so rehabilitated now. That he had his temper on a good strong leash these days. “If you din’t want to get towed, you shunt’ve parked there. Not my problem if my people know ‘ow to do their jobs and you ‘aven’t got a clue ‘ow to do yours.”
“You don’t want to start a war with me, son,” Price growled.
Simon leaned forward, the barest curve of a smile on his lips, eyes narrowed and flinty. To his credit, Price didn’t flinch, didn’t move back, didn’t drop his eyes. He wasn’t intimidated by Simon’s size, like a lesser man would be. “You don’t want to start a war with me, old man.” He wasn’t sure there was much difference in their ages, if any, but if Price was going to try and talk down to him with the son shite than Simon was going to shovel it right back, like he was an unruly teenager in a rebellious phase. “I’m not goin’ to be pushed around by a fuckin’ badge. You don’t get special treatment because you wear a bloody uniform.”
Price’s jaw clenched even tighter. He had an impressive scowl, one that could probably level anyone else. “Watch yourself,” he grit out, like each word cost him something to force from his mouth.
Simon leaned a little closer. Their noses were almost touching. He could feel the currents of air stirred up by Price’s breath on his own face. “Or what?” he asked.
“Or else,” Price said, too angry to come up with anything resembling a real threat.
Simon pulled back with an amused grunt, and turned away, glancing over his shoulder dismissively. “See you as the impound lot, hm? I’ll be waitin’.”
In the end, it was Gaz who came around to pick up the cruiser.

Inspired by Wish You Were Sober by Conan Grey. I heard the song while I was reading Merthur and got inspired, but this has been sat in a folder of unfinished drafts for a while so do with that what you will.
— Summary —
Two months after Merlin starts working for Arthur, Arthur gets drunk at a feast and Merlin has to take him to bed. Just before this, Arthur dragged Merlin into bed saying it was cold. Merlin offered to light the fire but Arthur held onto him and said no to the fire. Nothing happened, Arthur just wanted a hug, but he’s drunk and Merlin is hesitant to cross boundaries. He agrees at first because “it’s just a hug and Arthur must just be clingy when drunk.” After a few minutes of quiet, this happens.
(Shortened version, I took out a lot to keep it relatively spoiler free if I decide to finish this)
— Preview —
He must’ve been too quiet because Merlin felt Arthur lean into his hair, nose nuzzling into the curls at the crown of his head.
“I think I’m falling in love with you,” Arthur said, his voice barely above a whisper in the empty room.
Merlin startled and ached at the confession. It could never be, and they both knew it.
“You’re drunk, Arthur.” Merlin told him, more sternly than the teasing remarks he’d made earlier, pulling away.
Arthur let him go. Let Merlin break free from him and take a few steps back.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, the sound cut through Merlin like a spear to hear such resignation from the prince.
It made Merlin pause, a short distance away from the bed.
“It’s fine, what are friends for?” Merlin said, a false happiness forced to mask the ache in his chest.
Arthur wilted, but it was fine. It couldn’t be. Not while he had such a treasonous thing as magic to keep secret. Not while Uther was on the throne.
Not when Arthur was too drunk to hold himself upright, much less know what he was saying. Merlin could never take advantage of that. Even staying to simply sleep, it was more selfish than he could afford to be.
Merlin moved forward, brushing aside the blonde hair that fell into Arthur’s eyes. The prince watched him intently, “Go to sleep,” he muttered, “Sleep off the wine,”
Arthur’s eyes fluttered shut, “I’m sorry,” he whispered again, “Please don’t leave,”
“Never.” Merlin swore, Arthur opened his eyes hopefully. Merlin hesitated before sitting down on the edge of the bed not quite close enough to be pressed to Arthur’s side, “Don’t think I’ll scare so easily, Arthur.” He ran his fingers through blonde hair soothingly, “prat or not, you’re my friend. You’re not getting rid of me that easily.”
“Stay?” He asked hopefully, sounding so soft and more vulnerable than he’d ever seen of the man.
“Get some sleep.” Merlin told him, still met with hopeful eyes he couldn’t lie to. “I’ll be here when you wake up.” He said instead. Lying by omission once again and ignoring the dull ache in his chest.
Arthur nodded and closed his eyes again with a private smile on his lips. Merlin ached as he pulled himself away.
A quick glance over his shoulder as he stood in the doorway told him Arthur had fallen to sleep.
“Goodnight Prat,” he whispered into the room, before he slipped out and made for Gaius’ chambers.
Thoughts? Should I finish this?

(Am I writing another Prongsfoot fic? (Among other things) Yes. Do I have any chill about these two? No. Also, Sirius' wand obeys James and vice versa without any loss of power to their spells. (Plus, there's the inherent homoeroticism of wizards using each other's wand.)) James fumbles around the bedding in the darkness until his hand encounters a piece of polished wood. Distinctly square-shaped and with a surface rough with engraved symbols. Sirius’ wand, then. He’s wielded it enough times to recognize it by touch only. Sirius thrashes on the bed, and when another awful, pained sound tears from him, James’ fingers automatically curl around the handle. It goes against good manners to use another wizard’s wand without his permission, but he’s certain Sirius wouldn’t mind under the circumstances. They drifted off without the usual precaution of silencing charms, and Sirius, proud, stand-offish Sirius, wouldn’t be happy if his friends heard him whimper. Not even Peter and Remus are allowed to see the ugly parts. The vulnerable parts. The pieces of himself he considers disgusting and broken and unworthy of love, no matter how hard James works to convince him otherwise. Because yes, James has access to the innermost workings of Sirius Black. A privilege he doesn’t take lightly.
A burden he doesn’t deserve, Sirius argues, or he would if he weren’t perfectly aware James would hex him for spouting such rubbish.
When he casts a quick silencing spell with a quick flick of his wrist, a flow of magic rushes through him, warming his arm from shoulder to fingertips. According to what he managed to ferret out in books about wand lore, a stranger’s wand usually yields unreliable results, but James has never encountered any problems when borrowing from his friend. Perhaps it recognizes a twin flame in James, his magical core so intertwined with Sirius’ that even magic older than words can tell them apart.

A Proxies x Reader fic idea:
Urban explorer/thief reader, who’s been scoping out an abandoned hospital deep in the woods (which unbeknownst to them has a reputation for disappearances) for a month now, finally managing to sneak their way inside in the dead of night. They’re taking whatever may be valuable: Books, old medical equipment, belongings of former residents, etc. Halfway through their escapade they realize they aren’t alone, brought to their attention by the sound of a gun cocking behind them.
They turn slowly to see three masked men have entered the room with them, blocking the doorway and effectively crushing any chance of escape.
And, unfortunately, the explorer is simply too flirty for their own good.
“Woah, hey there handsome. You point a gun at every guy you meet in the woods, or am I just special?” They ask, addressing the man holding the weapon who is not nearly as amused as the other two.
“You better tell me what the fuck you’re doing here.” The man growls in response.
“Oh, nothing really, but I could always put you on my list.”
This joke does not land nearly as well as the explorer had hoped.
In an instant the cold metal of the gun is pressed to their chin, the masked man clearly struggling to ignore the snickering of his colleagues.
“Yikes,” The explorer sighs, “I hope you take dick better than you take jokes.”
idk i’ll let you guys tell me if this is good enough to make a whole fic out of 🤷

To answer @melyndadwest-blog’s summons and referencing their prompt/theory I have a little fic I’ve been working on but haven’t posted. Working title “Shadows of Future, Lights of the Past” but name very much gonna change.
The core concept is that Danny was an Ancient/High King/Primordial Godlike Enity for a long time because some usurpers got nervous and tried to get rid of him. Erasing his memories for a thousand lifetimes (and when you live for an eternity as a ghost well….) and trapping his physical form before casting it away to be lost to the cosmos and time.
Because of when he ends up and his type of existence, he comes into a lot of innate power that leads to accidental mega godhood. Consequently when he’s freed he is a little screwy. At least he has his soul mates (Tucker and Sam) to help him ground. Meanwhile, shenanigans. Freaking people out, adopting all the sacrifices, and deciding cuddles cures everything. Basically Eldritch Horror Mother Decides You Look Adoptable.
Basically the themes I’m working with are:
Cryptid Danny Fenton
Accidental Godhood
Adoption Crisis
Eternal Trio soulmate addition
Dani is legally Danny’s Baby and totally fought Vlad for custody behind the Nasty Burger
Fucked Luck Tuck is actually cursed and willing took it
DC x DP
No Bruce, he’s old enough to be your grandfather. No adopting the weird teenager.
Cult Sacrifices are legally his to do as he pleases….. and it pleases the ghost parent to have lots of children to care over
Things I’m Considering
Sam is actually Lady Gotham
Ghost Zone is literally Danny’s fully developed core.
OR the GZ is his primordial bastard kid
Alfred died the same night as the Waynes but said “there’s no bloody way I’m letting that boy be completely orphaned”
Danny’s human body never aged passed 14
Honestly I don’t think I’ve talked about it anywhere yet. I’m wanting a plotline and draft done before I start posting, less pressure I guess? I’m not sure what my end goal is is the thing. And I want that settled before I really go nuts.
Also the laptop it’s on died and is being fixed.
Actually “Ouroboros” would be a good title too…. hmm

Part 3 of the Merlin Saves (tries to kill) Arthur fic
(Part 2)
“Gaius, is there any way to break the curse completely?” Arthur asks. Merlin is more focused on the hand resting on his knee.
“I fear the only way will be to destroy the mother beast.”
“The other eight heads?” Merlin asks, knowing the answer.
Gaius nods gravely.
“I’ll have the knight’s prepare to ride out in an hour.” Arthur stood, his hand slipping away from Merlin’s knee as he mourned the loss. “Do you remember anything about where she was hiding?”
Merlin bit his lip and shook his head, not meeting Arthur’s eyes.
“Okay. I’ll have Gwaine and Sir Kay keep an eye on you once the snake wakes up again. For now stay here and do whatever Gaius says.” Arthur says as he steps away, then he looks to the physician. “Anything he needs, Gaius.”
“Of course, Sire.” Gaius bows his head
“Should I have George prepare your armour?” Gwen asked, standing up and already walking towards the door.
“Yes. Thank you, Guinevere.” Arthur said before leaving.
Gwen followed and Merlin looked at Gaius, a determined look in his eye.
“It can’t be killed without magic, can it?”
Gaius takes an apprehensive breath.
“I fear not.”
“Then you’ll have to get water from the well and deny that you saw me leave.” Merlin pushed himself up and made for his room, taking a bag with long flowing robes and a potion he keeps with them to keep his magic getting stuck.
Gaius was gone by the time he left his room so he scribbled a note saying “gone hunting” with an eight headed stick drawing. It… almost looked vaguely like the Fomorrah in the book. He was in a hurry. It did the job.
This part was shorter than usual, but I honestly kinda forgot this existed. There’s probably another three parts to come, but I don’t know when I’ll get to them. I’m working on it. Leon’s knowing and unknowing treason is my main priority for this week, so that’ll be the next fic thing I post.
Also I just hit 750 followers and wanted to say thank you, i really didn’t think that many people would be interested in my ramblings about tragic gays but thanks! Happy to have you here :)

Helloooo,
I'm dropping this into your ask box because of the post you made about a Cody-centric fanfic? I love the concept so much!!! I have so many thoughts about Cody on Kamino, his feelings on Clone Culture and him beeing just such an amazing Commander, brother and mum. Cause he is mum coded. I probably wont fit them all into this rant so it's possible that I will randomly ask you again, because I remembered something or I had an idea, I hope you don't mind :).
So first of all, you said you wanted to deal with Cody and Jango wich I find realy cool. I realy would love to see maybe some interaction or at least Cody's thoughts on Boba as well. I think the clones might have mixed feelings about Boba since he is treated so differently but is he actually? I mean do they ever get jelous or annoyed by him? I don't think Cody would be but maybe some of his brothers. And what's ot like for Boba, with no real friends his age, because they all age mucg faster then him? Does he even know the clones? Mhmmm many thoughts here as you can maybe tell.
Also I don't know how you wan't to do the whole Jango and Cody relationship (feel free to ignore this haha), but I always imagined that, personality-wise Cody would not actually like him. With Jango beeing a bounty hunter who sells his Service to the highest bidder, beeing a lone fighter and also rather self-centric and a bit arrogant, I imagine he would not fit well with Cody's loyalty, his morals, his selflessness and his devotion to his brothers. However, I think Cody is fascinated by what Jango represents. He is an original. He has knowlege of the world outside of Kamino. He is allowed to have a personality. He is free. He is his own human beeing. These are all things, Cody wants so badly, for himself and for all his brothers. And, through Jango, he can get little glimpses at that, can phantom what it would mean or be like, can catch a glimmer of hope. Even though it could be argued that this aching and knowing you have to settle for a fraction of everything youncould be is worse than having never known about the possibilities at all. That's why I think his relationship with Jango is incredibly important, because it's not just about them as persons but also about the collision of their worlds and the clones' potential and what the Kaminoans made them.
I don't know how you want to approach clone culture, if you want it mandalorian or not, (I always imagine a heavy mandalorian influence, but altered to fit their restricted lifes and added with little things that come just from their very unusual everyday life on Kamino) but if you want Mandalorian Influence then I think Jango plays a very important role in that as well. And maybe that's also why Cody has very complicated feelings about him. I think Clone Culture is incredibly important to him, because it can make them feel like people and Jango brought them something to start with, to hold onto. Does he idiolize Jango? I don't think so. Not as a person. But he wouldn't be who he is without him (he wouldn't even exist wow) so... it's complicated.
I think my feelings about his batch are a topic for another time, but I NEED them adopting Baby Rex. That's very important to me. They are all protective older brothers.
On the Codywan topic: I like to imagine that Cody already catched a glimpse at him when Obi Wan visited Kamino in AotC. And... not to say that he had an instant crush, but I do think seeing someone from the outside world, maybe even the first other human that didn't bear his face, had a huge impact on him. I actually wrote a scene about that a while ago (someday I will get on with writing my own Codywan Fics haha), it's in german but if you want I can translate it and send it to you so you can see what I mean. I think his visit probably was a huge turning point in their time on Kamino. It meant the war was coming and they all anticipated it, but did they realy want it to come? It would get them off Kamino, but they would also most likely die sooner or later.
In terms of them realy meeting and falling in love I usually cant even decide what flavor I prefer. I usually love the shit out of every Codywan variety, if it's a Cody fresh from Kamino still ideolizing the Jedi and then beeing taken aback by how much they actually care and how unsuited for war they realy are. Or if he has had a few missions already and then beeing surprised that Obi Wan is actually quite capable and conpetent. Anyway I think Obi Wan earns Cody's respect by beeing competend and badass, then his trust by caring for his men and always listening to Cody in making his plans and decisions and then his love by beeing his caring, compessionate, selfless and loving self. Obi Wan is just so effortlessly treating them like persons, with him, Cody doesn't have to fight for that and it makes everything so much lighter. They share the burgen of leadership and trsponsibilty and it's a heavy burden but together it's just a little bit easier, just a little bit more durable. But hey, you know all this, I'm just rambling at this point.
Depending how early into the war you want them to meet, I also love some Cody and PadawanAnakin interaction. Just him and Rex getting into shenenigans as Commander and Captain of the 212th and Cody and Obi Wan standing by, facepalming. Older sybling solidarity is important part of their dynamic to me haha.
Oh god, I already wrote far to much, but just for the last part: I'd love for clone-rebellion-era Cody to meet either of Quinlan, Ventress and Hondo, if not all of them. Ventress' history with the clones (Wolffe) and Obi Wan would make for a very interesting dynamic and I can see him just beeing completely done with Hondo and Quinlan, just like he was in Clone Wars (their dynamic was already so fun to watch haha), only now, they also remind him of Obi Wan and he doesn't now if that makes it better or worse but it certainly makes it more personal. Especially with Quinlan it's probably hard, he has every reason not to trust Cody and to Cody it's probsbly hard to accept that Quinlan survived if he at this point still thinks that Obi Wan died. If not, maybe Quinlan can help him find Obi Wan and then we also have Quinlan and Obi Wan Reunion! Only if you even want a reunion of course haha.
OK anyway I'm sorry I rambled and I also apologize for the millions of spelling mistakes I probably made but... You asked! I will probably be back with more thoughts if you'll have me, haha. Keep me updated with how this fic is coming along, I'd hate to miss it :)!
Lots of fun and good writing!
I'm really hapoy you reached out and shared your ideas with me, that's why i put that post up after all ;)
I've already written part of the Kamino Arc by now, but I will try to include what you said, because it actually fits rather well with what I already have. In my story Jango takes an interest in Cody first and pays special attention to him. In the beginning Cody likes this and feels more mandalorian pride, but throughout the next years his admiration for Jango and what he stands for transforms into resentment because he matures and learns what it means for Jango to do what he had done and also, because the special treatment he gets separates him from his brother's. He realizes the unfairness of how his brothers are treated and how they seem to start to dislike Cody too. He transforms from Kote, who is Jango's protege, to Cody, who is the clone's certified big brother. He's a bit proud and selfish in the beginning, but I want to show how he changes and how he came to care about his brothers so much, even more than most other clones.
I'm not at the Rex part yet, but Cody will probably notice him and the batch will adopt him.
At the moment Cody and Boba have a really good relationship, due to Jango liking Cody. But when Cody eventually prioritizes his brothers over being Janho'g favourite and starts to get angry with him, Boba will probably feel abandoned by him. I feel like he would think Cody has chosen everything else over him and Jango probably won't let them spend time with each other anymore. So Boba once loved Cody and eventually resents him for leaving him alone once more. Boba grew up isolated from everyone else and Cody was one of the only ones Jango allowed to spend time with him, since the other clones don't like Boba for getting to be a child.
Cody focuses a lot of his time on the clones afterwards and neglects his relationship with Boba. I will come back to this later when Jango dies and the whole thing with Boba and Mace and the Bounty Hunters starts during the war.
I hope this fits with what you think about Cody's characterization.
Feel free to add anything you want to this. You can also ask questions, if you want to know how I'll handle certain relationships or events.
I'm not really planning the Codywan part until I'm finished with Kamino and know where this story has led me, but I will come back to your points then.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I hope you like mine hahha
I also plan on uploading a glimpse of the beginning sometime next week and I hope you'll give me feedback on that one. :)
PS. I'm actually German too, so if you want to you can send me yours. That's also why I'd be glad for everyone to point out spelling mistakes or something similar.
