Getting Into Kart Racing
Kart racing is a highly thrilling form of motorsport that serves as the gateway for many aspiring racers into the world of competitive racing. At its core, kart racing involves driving small, open-wheel vehicles known as karts around a track. These machines may look simple at first glance, but they offer an intense racing experience that requires skill, precision, and a deep understanding of…

I think the other issue I have with this as well is that this team is supposed to be a development team. It’s supposed to be a pathway into the main team.
It’s not supposed to be for experienced drivers in their mid-thirties who has been round the block with 4 other teams. Especially when one of those teams is the main team. Completely defeats the point of having a team like Alpha Tauri.

Ok, so. I know this is far-fetched, but stay with me now. I’ve scrolled through numerous Duke Thomas fanfics as his #1 fan, and I have yet to see his potential for behavioral attachment and obsessive tendencies being used as a key part of a plot. So I decided I’ll do it myself.
A mutual of mine made me read—though I didn’t want to at first—Batman: Urban Legends, and the Smile Drops drug derived from Scarecrow’s fear gas storyline really opened a door into a lot of previously unexplored terrain regarding the long-term consequences of fear gas/Smile Drops.
What fear gas does is trick your psyche by rearranging your neurological pathways into whatever the component of the formula wants. It’s never been in a solid form before, only as gas, and the transformation from gas to solid for the creation of Smile Drops is revolutionary. Pair that with ith the power vacuum left from Two-Face retiring (Batman: Detective Comics #1042–#1064) and the disappearance of Scarecrow, it makes it more than likely that someone was smart enough to take it apart, recreate it, and make more of it—with different purposes.
But what does it have to do with Duke? You may ask. Well, as I stated before, one of the most interesting aspects of Duke as a character is his obsessive nature—obsessive nature that’s only intensified by the void left behind by the loss of his parents. Obsessive nature within which lies my main point: what happens if a mutated version of fear gas—or Smile Drops—hits Duke? What happens when the drug hijacks his brain’s attachment mechanisms? What if his obsession— this means to fill the void— doesn't attach to a thing—like the idea of justice or protecting the Narrows—but instead latches onto a person?
There’s compelling science behind this. In times of crisis or trauma, the human brain goes into survival mode. If someone is present in that state—especially someone who offers safety or relief—the brain anchors to them.
It’s a form of trauma bonding.
The prefrontal cortex is compromised, the amygdala overfires, and oxytocin (the bonding hormone) is dumped into the system. To put it simply, when in a state of heightened vulnerability, the person who’s present when your brain is unraveling and re-forming becomes ingrained—wired into the architecture of your mind as something internal, essential, inescapable.
I thought about who the most interesting character would be to tie into this plot— to be there when Duke loses his mind. At first, I considered Cassandra Cain anx then Stephanie Brown. But ultimately, I chose Jason Todd and here's why;
They’re the most similar members of the Batfam: both from lower-class backgrounds, raised in similar, neighboring areas; both lost their parents and went through the foster system, only to run away from it; both were eventually adopted by a wealthy man who—regardless of intentions—forced them to give up part of their independence. A man who holds, in many ways, the power to shape or break the futures they’ve been fighting to build. Long story short, they're the same in the ways that matters; kids who never had a choice but were expected to rise anyway.
I think Jason would see himself in Duke, in that way. He’d be sympathetic, patient, maybe even protective sometimes.
And, do I think this could be one of the few genuine chances Duke has at building a healthy relationship with someone during this timeframe (without his parents in his life)? Absolutely.
But would Duke see it that way, especially so soon?
Absolutely not.
Because, Duke lives in the Manor he watches Bruce and Jason argue constantly. Jason cuts off contact with the family over and over. There is no time for them to bond. And for Duke, that doesn’t matter—because this has nothing to do with him.
But then, picture this; Jason operates in Crime alley and Duke the Narrows so they are in proximity when Duke gets this new lesser than version fear gaz. And Jason saves Duke. Is there when he unravels.
And in the aftermaths, Duke internalizes an obsession with Jason without even realizing it, at first. And it's true to say that Jason wouldn't be weirded out, if Duke got attached to him, especially after Red Hood And The Outlaws #25 and in the light of the events that have taken place in Heroes In Crisis—but this is Gotham and thats excuse enough to spoil something that could have been good, given time— but here's the tragedy: Duke doesn’t fully recognize it as a real connection, let alone attachment. His mind, altered by the drug and shaped by loss, dehumanizes Jason. He doesn’t view him as a person but as a subject—something to analyze, to observe. This pattern fits Duke’s psychological profile; he has a tendency to step back from things to view them clearly. That detachment makes it easier to cope, but harder to connect. (He did this with Riddler—treating Nygma as a puzzle instead of a person who creates them.)
So what does that mean for their non-existent relationship? It becomes… strange. Complicated. Duke keeps Jason at a distance emotionally even more now, all the while being mentally obsessed with him. And it all roots back to a single moment: while under the effects of Fear Drops, and completely blind of senses, Duke confused Jason for his mom—and clung to him like he once did her. And now, the lines between those attachments have blurred. Every time he thinks of her, he thinks of him.
What could have been the foundation for a healthy bond becomes something distorted—not out of malice, but because the trauma left Duke unable to tell the difference between love and survival.
Here are the tags, dropping this sometime next month!

The Silence Behind The Camera

George Russell x fem!reader
Summary: You had just got hired for F1 as a photographer. You were excited to say the least, but when it came time to create your work, You found it awkward, and as a struggle. That is until someone certain encourages you.
Second Person POV
You had recently got hired in the F1 workforce for photography. You were surprised you had made it through the interview, being shy was a big factor in your life.
You weren't always great about speaking up for yourself, but you thought that this job would bring out your true colors, making friends, getting to know people. All of it.
Right now, you and a group of photographers were at the Canadian circuit entrance, a herd of cameras around the gateway, also making a sliver of a path for anyone who had to get through.
You were standing off to the side, near the pathway, leaning against the gate.
You were looking at the camera setting when all of a sudden, the group of photographers started cheering and screaming.
You instantly snap your head up to see George Russell walking towards you.
You were going to capture some pictures, but it felt... odd.
You felt weird taking pictures of someone without their permission. You understood that's what your job was about.
But you never realized how awkward it felt. You lowered your camera back down. The strap tugging on the back of your neck.
George was walking through the thin path, waving at all of the camera people.
When he had gotten closer to you, he stopped slightly, looking at you like you belonged in a museum.
He held your gaze, looking at you deeply, opening his mouth like he was going to say something, but his guard tapped him on the shoulder, telling him to keep walking.
By now, all of the photographers had scattered around, going off to find new moments to capture.
You were still standing at the gate, feeling defeated at your job already.
"Hi y/n, glad to see you here already." A voice said behind you. You slowly turn around to see your boss, Toto, standing there.
"Hi." You say quietly.
"How's it been for you so far?" He said. He nodded his head back, signaling that you should walk eith him. So you did.
"It's... alright. I haven't got much, though." You say, walking through the aisle of garages together.
"Well that's alright then. It takes a while to get used to it." He said, patting you on the back lightly.
"Yeah."
"Do you want to relax in here? You can wait until media is gone." He said, turning towards the Mercedes garage.
You both stood slightly outside, Toto was talking to some engineers while you looked through your camera roll again. Seeing everything but Formula 1 content.
"Where's Kimi and George?" Toto asks an engineer. The engineer shrugs and walks away.
"Jesus Christ." Toto mutters.
"There uh... over there." You saying, pointing to the media tent.
"Thank you." He raises his arms. "At least someone knows what's going on." He says, smiling before walking to the tent.
"No, I don't." You mutter under your breath. You look back in the garage, looking through all of the commotion when you see a man walk up to you.
"Hi, I'm Valtteri Bottas, your y/n right?" He asks, stretching out his hand for you to shake.
"Yeah, nice to meet you." You say, shaking his hand.
"Your our new photographer correct?" He asks.
"Yeah, I am."
"How's it going so far? Capture anything good?"
"No. Actually I haven't gotten a chance to. It's kind of... awkward." You say.
"I understand that. Do you like it here so far?" He asks.
"Yeah, it's nice. The people are welcoming."
"Yeah-"
"Valtteri. How are you mate?" A voice behind us asks. We both turn to see George walking up to us.
"Good, you ready for tomorrow? Got the new car prepared." Valtteri said.
"Yeah, looking forward to it."
"George, this is y/n. Y/n this is George." Valtteri says.
"Oh yeah, your our new photographer, yeah?" George said.
"That would be me." You say with a smile. Valtteri silently walked away, leaving the two of you standing there.
"Yeah, I uh.. saw you at the gate's this morning. Quite the crowd there." He said.
"Yeah. I really didn't expect it." You say quietly.
"You know, out of everybody there, you were the only one not taking pictures." He said. You looked hesitantly at him.
"Yeah. I was ready but I guess... it felt to awkward." You say.
"Why's that?"
"I don't know. I've never taken a picture of someone without asking for their permission first." You say, letting out a shaky laugh.
"Well you have my full permission from now on. People do it all the time, it's just about getting in there, taking your shot." He says. You nod.
"Um, Kimi is going to do an interview in a minute. Would you like to get some shots there?" He asked, pointing behind him.
"Yeah... sure, I can." You say quietly.
"Great." He said. He led you through the large crowd of people in the garage, walking back through the main area of the paddock.
"Here, just in here." He said, opening the door to a small room. You walk in slowly after him to see Kimi starting his interview. You and George sat on the floor to the side, watching the interview.
George suddenly leaned over close to you "You should get a picture." He whispered
"No... nobody else is." You say quietly. He suddenly took your camera from off your lap and got three pictures, with surprisingly good quality.
"Here. You should try. Way better then me." He smirked, hanging the camera back to you.
You playfully roll your eyes and smile, taking a couple of pictures, adjusting the lighting and IOS as needed.
"See. There you go. Let's see." He said. You turn the camera to him, shuffling through the pictures of Kimi.
"Those are really good... wow."
"Thanks." You say softly.
"Do you want to shoot more?" He asked.
"Sure." You nod. Both of you stand, quietly exiting the room and going out the the track again, this time leaning on a balcony.
"See that?" George says, pointing to a car on the track.
"Yeah."
"Wait until it starts going 'round, probably take a picture, along there." He said, pointing to a curve to the left.
"You telling me how to do my job now?" You say, smirking up at him.
"No. It's called George's wonderful advice." He says, smiling, putting a hand on his chest.
So after the car out on the track started moving, going at a fast pace. You held up your camera, following the car with your lens. It soon got to the turn George was talking about, so you started snapping picture after picture until it stopped, coming up to the pit lane.
You quickly started going through the pictures, George leaned into your shoulder, looking with you.
"Your really good." He said.
"Thank you." You say. A moment of silence appeared between the two of you Both looking out at the track, fan's cheering on, getting signatures from different drivers, media still going.
"You want to get more pictures?" He asks.
"Of what?" You ask. He stands there silently, looking out at the track.
"Follow me." He smirks. You and him walk away, through the paddock again.
He leads through crowds of people, mostly being fans. When you get near the garages, he leads you up a staircase that connected to a small hallway, eventually bringing you out on to a balcony.
You stand at the rails, watching the sun go down and the people still wandering around.
You slowly bring your camera up, taking pictures of the sun mixed with the people, creating the perfect contrast of colors and different shades.
"What- do you mind if I see that?" George asks.
"Sure." You say.
You hand him the camera and he zooms in very far on a certain driver, not knowing who. George laughs.
"Ahh Jesus Christ, I'm going to blackmail him with this one." he laughs. He turns the camera to me to show Lando making a disgusted face behind his bosses back.
"Oh my God. Who is that?" You laugh.
"That my friend is the one and only Lando Norris. Who, if you capture at the right time, certainly loves these pics." He said.
"Come on." He nodded, you follow him quickly down the stairs and both of you go out to Lando, who is standing, texting someone.
"Mate! Look what I got." George said, shoving the camera in Lando's face.
"Where did you get that!" Lando said, trying to reach for it, but George held it up in the air.
"Doesn't matter. Just watch yourself, these might find it's way to Pinterest, yeah?"
"I- oh hey, who are you?" Lando says, turning to you and smirking.
"Y/n." You say.
"Well, are you new?"
"Yeah?"
"Hm. Cool. You should let me take you out for dinner some time." He says, nonchalantly.
"Uh- I'm good."
"Really?"
"Really. I can... tell who you are."
"What?"
"You look like the type to party a lot. Go out, get wasted, hook up with everyone in the room. I'm okay." You say.
"Uh- what are you telling her?" He says, looking at George.
"Nothing. Maybe you should die down on that rep though. She doesn't even know you and she told you off." George laughed.
"Right, calm down Max." Lando smirked, walking away.
"What the actual hell?" You question.
"You got everything right about him and you've known him for five seconds." George said.
"Guess I'm just good a predicting." You say.
"George!" A voice yells.
"Ugh, turn your backs, maybe we won't here him." George teases, you look back to see Toto calling him.
"George!"
"Georgie!" Toto yells teasingly.
"Georgie?" You question. George rolls his eyes and the two of you walk over to Toto.
"Mate, did you not here me?" He asked George.
"We did."
"You like that nickname?" Toto smirks.
"No, but I prefer the name Georgie. It reminds me of the 'It' movie where I'm getting summoned into hell by a clown." He says, matching Toto's attitude.
You couldn't help but snort out a laugh. Toto looks at you.
"i- I think it's pretty cute. I mean, gotta have some fun at work right?" You ask.
"She get's it." George said, pointing to you. Toto nodded, and went to go get paper's from somewhere in the garage.
You look at the time on your phone and notice it's getting later.
"I have to go, will I see you tomorrow?" You ask.
"Yeah. Hey, do you want me to walk you out?" He asks.
"Sure." You say, he grabs his phone of the desk and turns towards you.
"George-" Toto says.
"I'll be back, we'll discuss strategies later." George says, walking out of the garage with you. You couldn't help but bring yourself to laugh.
"Christ, strategy after strategy, it's like I'm back in math's again." George says sarcastically. You laughed more.
"Is it really that hard?" You ask.
"Oh my, you have no idea." He smiles. You continue walking towards the gate exit when Kimi stopped George.
"Mate, are you good at math's?" kimi asked.
"I'm alright, yeah."
"Perfect, tomorrow, my teacher gave me an exam. I really need your help with it. Like all the number and stuff." He said.
"Sure, I can help." George said, Kimi patted him on the back before going into the paddock.
"Never mind, change my answer. I'm now in math's class." He said.
"Might as well be in school." He mumbled. You laughed again.
You continued walking out into the parking lot, eventually stopping at your car.
"Wait, this is yours?" He asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"Wow, this is nice." He said, gently putting his hand on the hood of the car. A BMW
"Yeah, I bought it a few years ago. Brand new 2023 model." You say, putting your camera and purse in the car.
"That's amazing." He says softly. There was a quiet pause between the two of you.
"Uh- thanks for today. i really appreciate the help." You say, opening the drivers side door.
"It's no problem, really." He says, smiling.
"i do have one question though, very... related to work." He says.
"Shoot."
"Do you want to go out? Like not- like to talk about work things, like..." He trailed off.
"Like a date?" You ask.
"No... not a date, just work... maybe a date." He said slyly.
"I'd love to." You say.
"Great." He smiles.
"I'll see you tomorrow." You say.
"See you tomorrow." He says, turning around to walk away, but he stops a couple of steps ahead.
"Wait- why did you turn down Lando and not me?" He asked, walking back to you.
"I've known Lando Norris for years, not face to face but I know what he's like. You... you don't seem like that."
"Oh so your a liar." He smirks. You giggle at him.
"Look, I get going out for a drink once and a while, but... sorry but sometimes he's on a whole different level."
"I get that." He pauses. "Are we still on?"
"Of course. Unless you make me think otherwise."
"Great. I'll see you tomorrow then." He says.
"See you tomorrow." You say.

summary: you and the leclerc brother meet in your hometown, spain...
PAIRINGS: charles leclerc x fem!reader
WARNINGS: none
note: pleaseeee send in requests, i don't know what to write anymore...
masterlist
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bustling streets of Spain’s vibrant city life hummed with energy as the warm sun bathed the cobblestone pathways. Amidst the sea of tourists and locals, a chance encounter unfolded, changing the course of two lives.
You found yourself happily strolling along the picturesque streets of your hometown, reveling in the familiar sights and sounds that had always brought you comfort.
It was there, amidst the winding alleys of Spain, that you first laid eyes on him – Charles Leclerc, the Formula 1 racing sensation, accompanied by his brothers Arthur and Lorenzo.
You couldn’t help but be drawn to their infectious laughter and easygoing demeanor as they soaked in the beauty of your city. It was like it was second nature to them.
A chance encounter led to a conversation, and soon, you found yourself engrossed in tales of their travels and adventures. And you happily listened to their stories.
Days turned into nights, and before you knew it, you were spending every waking moment in their company. Whether it was exploring hidden gems of the city or indulging in local delicacies, each moment felt like a dream.
Among the Leclerc brothers, it was Charles who captivated you the most. His warm smile and genuine curiosity made it easy to lose track of time whenever you were together.
As the days passed, a bond formed between the two of you, forged through shared laughter and heartfelt conversations. It was more than friends, but less than a serious relationship.
As the inevitable day of departure approached, a sense of melancholy settled over you. The thought of saying goodbye to Charles and his brothers filled you with a profound sense of longing.
It was then that you knew you had to seize the moment and express what had been weighing on your heart. If not yet, then when? They would go soon and the question if you would see them again, was unanswered.
Gathering your courage, you penned a letter, pouring your feelings onto the pages with unwavering honesty. It came flooding out of you, onto the pages, like nothing you had ever experienced.
You poured out your admiration for Charles, confessing how his presence had brightened your days and how you cherished the memories you had shared together.
On the morning of their departure, you sought out Charles amidst the bustling streets, heart pounding with nervous anticipation. With trembling hands, you handed him the letter, your eyes meeting his with a mixture of hope and apprehension.
Charles’ expression softened as he read the words you had written, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. At that moment, time seemed to stand still as the weight of your confession hung in the air between you.
Without a word, Charles pulled you into a warm and loving embrace, his arms wrapping around you with a tenderness that spoke volumes. He had always felt the same as you.
In that simple gesture, you found solace, knowing that no matter where life took you, the memories you had shared would forever be etched in your heart and his.
As the Leclerc brothers bid farewell, to the airport, and disappeared into the bustling crowd, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of bittersweet joy wash over you.
Though their time in Spain had sadly come to an end, the connection you had forged with Charles would endure, a testament to the serendipitous magic of fate.

i love the way the commentators explained f1 academy during zandvoort race 1 - it really is an academy, this is a chance for drivers to show off their skills to secure their seat in a team/spot in a championship for next year. they compared it to your final years in school and are trying to appeal to the best university. this isn't just about a woman making it to formula 1 but to open up pathways for these women to make into various all across the motorsport world.

The ACO's global endurance racing ladder

I was asked by @historygeek12 on a short explainer for ELMS' support series, this has gotten slightly longer than expected (oops). But hope this helps!
Similarly to the FIA Global Pathway (from Karting to Formula One) the ACO has their own Endurance Racing ladder designed to help aspiring drivers to one day compete at the 24H of Le Mans. Part of this ladder, are ELMS and its support series.
Ligier European Series

The Ligier European Series, launched in 2020, is as quoted by the series itself ‘The first step towards Le Mans.’ This is both for young drivers and amateurs as both will be able to progress through the ranks.
Every car has a maximum of two drivers, but drivers are allowed to compete in the races alone. Most line-ups will consist of either Bronze, Bronze-Bronze, Bronze-Silver, Silver, Silver-Silver. A Bronze-Gold line-up is allowed but a Gold driver has yet to take to the grid this season. Depending on the rating of the drivers they can be categorised in the AM class (Bronze or Bronze-Bronze) or the Pro-AM class (Bronze-Silver).
The series races at the same venues as ELMS this season (except for the Imola round). And is also a support race at the 24H of Le Mans,
Categories:
Ligier JS P4, an entry level prototype that sits just below LMP3’s performance window. (But above Group CN which is used in championships like Radical one make series and the Indian Racing League.)
Ligier JS2 R, an entry level GT car acting as the second category in several Ligier one-make series; of which the biggest the Ligier European Series. It’s relatively low cost and easy in maintenance.
The champions of the JS P4 category will receive €150,000 to be used exclusively in 2024 to enter the Michelin Le Mans Cup. This will have to be with a LMP3 with a team selected by Ligier Automotive.
The champions of the JS2 R category will receive €100,000 to compete exclusively in the Ligier European Series the following year in a Ligier JS P4 with a team selected by the constructor.
Several drivers currently in the ACO ladder started their Sportscar career in this series such as Sébastien Baud (who now competes in WEC) and Gillian Henrion (who now competes in ELMS).
Weekend Format:
Free practice : 2 x 40 minutes
Qualifying : 2 x 15 minutes (Friday)
Race : 2 x 1 hour (Saturday)
Women competing this season:
#88 Team Virage Amna & Hamda Al Qubaisi (JS P4)
#1 Team Virage Laura Villars w/Dario Cabanelas (JS P4)
#68 M Racing Cindy Gudet (JS2 R)
Le Mans Cup

The Le Mans Cup, launched in 2016 when the GTC (GT3) category was dropped from ELMS. The series was primarily designed to increase the number of amateur drivers. Despite starting as a GT3 series the series now primarily has LMP3's entered with only 8 GT3 cars and 36 LMP3's taking the start.
The series is as quoted by the series itself 'the first step into the world endurance racing for the young stars of tomorrow.' The grid features 42 cars this season across three classes. LMP3, LMP3 Pro/Am and GT3.
All line-ups have to consist of two drivers. In the LMP3 Pro/Am & GT3 Class a Bronze driver is mandated with the second driver either Silver or Gold. In the LMP3 class line ups will be Silver-Silver or Silver-Gold.
All LMP3 cars are built according to the ACO's LMP3 Technical regulations, teams can choose between four chassis; Ligier JS P325, Duqueine D09, ADESS AD25, and Ginetta G61-LT-P325 Evo. In the GT3 class all FIA GT3 approved chassis are eligible.
The series races at the same venues as ELMS this season (except for the Imola round). And is also a support race at the 24H of Le Mans. As a support series to the 24H of Le Mans the series strays from its usual format. Instead of a single race they will have two race on the full La Sarthe circuit both an hour long. This weekend is called the 'Road to Le Mans' round.
Previously the GT3 champion received a Le Mans invite but unfortunately that is not the case anymore. Now the champions receive priority to apply to join the ELMS grid.
Laurens Hörr is an example of a driver climbing the ladder from the Le Mans Cup. He won the LMP3 championship twice and then moved on to race in several other sportscar series such as ELMS, also winning the championship there in LMP3 and now competing in LMP2.
Weekend Format:
Free Practice : 2 x 60 minutes
Bronze Test : 1 x 30 minutes
Qualifying : 15 minutes per category. (only Bronze drivers can qualify the car for the LMP3 Pro/Am and the GT3 category)
Race – 1 x 2 hours with the exception of the Road To Le Mans (2 x 1 hour) and Silverstone (1h50m) races.
Women competing this season:
#50 23Events Racing Lena Buhler w/Mattéo Quintarelli (LMP3)
#83 Iron Dames Vanina Ickx, Marta Garcia Lopez (GT3)
European Le Mans Series

ELMS has a long history (I won't get into it all right now), being founded in 2004 years before the World Endurance Championship. The ACO president launched the series following the success of the American Le Mans Series.
The series has seen many formats, several names and many class changes over the years, LMP2 is the only class that has been there since its inception.
Currently the series is divided into four classes LMP2, LMP2 Pro/Am, LMP3, and LMGT3. While officially teams can choose between four chassis in LMP2, the formula has been Oreca dominated for years now. Which means the grid only features Oreca-07s both in P2 and P2 Pro/Am
In LMP3 teams also have the choice between four chassis (just like in Le Mans Cup.) The series however only features three different ones and is dominated by Ligier. In GT3, cars eligible must be built by a partner manufacturer recognised by the ACO/FIA.
In LMP2 a driver line-up must have at least one Silver driver and cannot have two Platinum drivers. In LMP2 Pro/Am the car must have at least one Bronze driver and cannot have two Platinum drivers. In LMP3 the car must have a at least a single Bronze, the other driver(s) can be Bronze or Silver. In LMGT3 the car must have a bronze driver and no more than one Gold or Platinum driver.
Since LMP2 left WEC, ELMS has been the biggest supplier for the LMP2 grid at Le Mans. With a total of 13 cars making up the 17 car car LMP2 field at this year's 24H of Le Mans. Winning the championship in ELMS gets you an automatic invite to the following year's 24H of Le Mans as described below.
Automatic Le Mans Invitations:
LMP2: 1st and 2nd placed competitors in the overall classifications will receive LMP2 invitations. LMP2 Pro/Am: 1st placed competitor in the overall classifications will receive a LMP2 invitation. LMP3: 1st placed competitor in the overall classifications will receive a LMP2 invitation. LMGT3: 1st placed competitor in the overall classifications will receive a LMGT3 invitation.
Weekend Format:
Free Practice : 2 x 90 minutes
Bronze Test : 1 x 30 minutes
Qualifying : 15 minutes per category. (only Bronze drivers can qualify the car for the LMP2 Pro/Am and the LMGT3 category)
Race – 1 x 4 hours
Women competing this season:
#18 IDEC Sport Jamie Chadwick (LMP2)
#85 Iron Dames Celia Martin, Sarah Bovy & Michelle Gatting (LMGT3)
#50 AF Corse Lilou Wadoux (LMGT3)
Does it really work?
Always with set pathways like these, there a pros and cons but I think it works rather well.

Malthe Jakobsen is a great example of how this works by looking at his career’s progression. He started his single seater career in 2018, doing two years of Formula 4 and winning the Danish Championship in 2019 but he ultimately switched to sportscar racing in 2020.
In 2020 he started competing LMP3, and continued to compete in the category across various series. He won the ELMS LMP3 Championship in 2022 and was invited by Peugeot to test the Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar during the FIA World Endurance Championship rookie test in November 2022. The following year he moved on to LMP2, finding quite a bit of success in it, (finishing on the podium at Le Mans winning the ALMS championship twice.) That same year he was signed by Peugeot as a junior driver.
Fast forward to 2024, Nico Müller left Peugeot for Porsche which left a seat open in one of their cars. This means Jakobsen was promoted and since the start of this year he has been competing in WEC as a factory Hypercar driver.

Habit stacking is a simple but powerful technique where you pair a new habit with an existing one, using the established habit as a trigger to reinforce the new behavior. This concept is based on the idea that your brain already has strong neural pathways for your current habits, so attaching a new habit to one that already exists makes it easier to adopt and sustain.

How Habit Stacking Works:
1. Identify a Habit You Already Do Consistently – This could be brushing your teeth, making coffee, or checking your phone in the morning.
2. Choose a New Habit to Add – Pick a small, manageable action you want to integrate into your routine.
3. Stack the New Habit onto the Existing One – Use a simple formula: After [existing habit], I will [new habit].
4. Repeat Until It Becomes Automatic – Consistency helps reinforce the new habit, making it part of your daily life.
Examples:
• After I brush my teeth, I will floss one tooth. (Great for building a flossing habit!)
• After I make my morning coffee, I will drink a glass of water. (Encourages hydration.)
• After I sit down at my desk, I will write down three priorities for the day. (Boosts productivity.)
Why It’s a Game Changer:
• Reduces Resistance – You’re not starting from scratch; you’re leveraging habits you already have.
• Builds Momentum – Small changes add up over time, creating big transformations.
• Fits Into Existing Routines – No need to carve out extra time; you’re working within habits you already do daily.
• Minimizes Decision Fatigue – You don’t have to remind yourself constantly; your established habit acts as the cue.
By consistently stacking habits, you can effectively replace old, unhelpful behaviors with better ones, making it a powerful tool for personal growth and behavior change.

// part 5: the science behind manifestation (because we love being smart girlies) ✨
hey loves! mindy here again~
today i'm diving into the fascinating science that makes manifestation work. as someone who loves both spirituality and science (hello, future doctor energy!), i'm excited to break this down in a way that makes perfect sense.
the scientific principles behind manifestation:
quantum physics basics
everything is energy at its core
observer effect: we influence particles by observing them
quantum entanglement shows everything is connected
the double-slit experiment proves consciousness affects reality
neuroscience of manifestation • reticular activating system (ras)
acts like a filter for your brain
helps you notice opportunities
focuses on what you program it to see
neuroplasticity
your brain physically changes with thoughts
new neural pathways form with repetition
this is why scripting works so well
psychological framework a) cognitive behavioral principles
thoughts create emotions
emotions drive actions
actions determine results
b) self-fulfilling prophecy
your beliefs shape your reality
2. expectations influence outcomes
3. confidence attracts opportunities
4. frequency & vibration science
human thoughts emit measurable frequencies
positive thoughts = higher frequency
higher frequencies attract similar energies
practical application (how i use this):
morning brain programming
meditation to raise frequency
positive affirmations during skincare
visualization while getting ready
study session optimization
setting intentions before starting
creating a high-vibe study space
using binaural beats for focus
daily consciousness practices
mindful observation
energy checking
thought monitoring
frequency adjustments
intentional speaking
the science-backed manifestation formula:
clear intention + elevated emotion + aligned action = manifestation
why this works:
intention activates the ras
emotion creates energetic frequency
action solidifies neural pathways
consistency compounds results
pro tip: i keep a "science of success" section in my manifestation journal where i track:
daily frequency levels (1-10)
manifestation experiments
correlation between thoughts and outcomes
evidence of law of attraction working
note: you're literally a quantum creator! your thoughts are shaping your reality at a subatomic level. isn't that the most powerful thing ever?
homework for my manifestation besties:
notice your ras in action today
journal about 3 manifestations you've already achieved
measure your vibration throughout the day
practice intentional thinking for 24 hours
stay tuned for part 6 where we'll explore advanced scripting methods (my personal fave for manifesting those straight a's!) 🌙
with love, mindy xo

the brutality and unfairness of formula 1
formula 1 is often hailed as the pinnacle of motorsport—a glamorous world filled with speed, technology, and the elites of racing. yet beneath the polished surface lies a brutal reality that often leaves drivers and teams at the mercy of ruthless decisions and the cold calculus of performance. with the controversies surrounding recent driver sackings and the ever-looming shadow of financial disparity, it's high time to examine why many argue that f1 is not a fair sport.
ruthless reality
just recently, valtteri bottas made headlines by bluntly stating that formula 1 is "not a fair sport." this sentiment resonates deeply with fans and insiders alike, especially in light of the way teams handle their drivers. for instance, williams' mid-season decision to replace logan sargeant has raised eyebrows and sparked heated debates. was it a ruthless move? or was it justified based on performance? the circumstances around logan's sacking were especially harsh, underlining the pressure to deliver results in a sport that doesn't tolerate anything below excellence.
these decisions are just business, but they reflect a culture where loyalty and patience often take a backseat to immediate results and instant gratification. a planetf1 analysis of f1 driver sackings reveals a history of brutal firings that underscore the cutthroat nature of the sport. one moment a driver is a team's new big thing, and the next they can find themselves out of a job—often with little explanation and even less sympathy.
money talks
one of the most damning realities of formula 1 is the pervasive influence of money. while talent is certainly a necessity for success, it's increasingly clear that without financial backing, even the most skilled drivers can find their careers stymied. talent alone isn't enough—financial resources play a critical role in a driver's future on track.
the narrative is all too familiar: drivers from wealthy backgrounds secure seats, while those without such financial support are often left scrambling for alternatives. the talent pool is vast, but the pathways to success are often barricaded by financial constraints, leaving many deserving drivers in the dust.
pressure cooker environment
the intense pressure in f1 extends beyond just performance; it creates a hostile environment where mental health often takes a back seat. with every race being a high-stakes affair, the neverending pressure to perform can lead to a decline in mental health, resulting in public scrutiny and harsh critiques from fans and pundits alike.
this culture can be devastating, particularly for young drivers like sargeant, who may not yet have developed the thick skin required to withstand the scrutiny that comes with the job. in a sport where every mistake is magnified, the fear of failure looms large, creating a vicious cycle of anxiety and poor performance.
a system rigged against fair play
as bottas pointed out, the very structure of f1 seems rigged. with teams prioritising sponsorship over pure driving skill, the sport can sometimes feel more like a corporate machine than a celebration of racing talent. the narrative that emerges is one where drivers are mere cogs in a vast, profit-driven engine—evaluated not just on their ability to race, but on their marketability and financial backing too.
this is a trend that not only alienates talented drivers, but also undermines the essence of competition. when financial clout trumps sheer talent, fans are left wondering if they are witnessing trye sporting excellence or merely a financial showcase.
a call for change
the brutality and unfairness of formula 1 cannot be ignored. as we witness the rise and fall of drivers like logan sargeant and daniel ricciardo and hear the stark words of valtteri bottas, it's clear that something needs to change. the sport should be a true meritocracy, where talent is the primary determinant of success, rather than the size of a driver's bank account and mental health is valued and supported.
in a world that often glorifies the fast and the furious, it's time to take a step back and consider the humans behind the helmets. the brutal realities of f1 deserve a spotlight, not just for the sake of drivers like logan and daniel, but for the integrity of the sport as a whole. it's high time formula 1 balanced its fierce competitiveness with a sense of fairness, allowing true talent to shine without the heavy hand of financial disparity and mental turmoil looming overhead.

How to Learn New Information

So, there's something you absolutely need to learn. An equation, a historical event, how to change the oil in your car. Not only that, but you need to prove that you've learned it, and have, if not mastered it, then at least adequately absorbed the concept. But apart from asking AI, you have no idea where to start. Well, I've got you covered.
Preface: actually learning things
Don't use ChatGPT. When you use GenAI to make study notes or explain things to you, you're depriving yourself of the ability to engage with the material in a more interactive way. This means you're less likely to actually learn things. If you went to a surgeon for life-saving surgery, but you found out that they used AI to get through medical school instead of doing the research themself, would you trust them? I personally wouldn't.
Also, when you learn something, you're also training your brain on how to learn. Learning how to learn is so worth your time and effort. Why would you pass on the opportunity to build your ability to learn in addition to the actual thing you're learning? It makes learning the next thing easier because the neural pathways for finding out new information are already there. By the way, if you're in school, that's what they're actually teaching you to do. Even though it might not seem like it, the individual thing you're learning doesn't matter as much as the fact that you are learning.
1. Figure out the scope of your learning
What do you want to learn and why? Which part of the topic is the bit you need to know, and is there any prerequisite knowledge you need to have before you start? If you want to know simple algebra, it's helpful to know how addition and multiplication work, for example.
2. Phrase it as a question
Instead of just stating what you want to learn, for example 'the quadratic formula', it's much more helpful to phrase it as a question. 'What does the quadratic formula do?' and 'why is each variable there and how does it contribute to the end result of the formula?' will result in more in-depth knowledge, because you know exactly what you're looking for.
3. Find the most basic source to learn from
Typing '(thing you're learning) explained for kids' into YouTube is one way to start. I know that for maths and science, there's a set of baby books that explain really complex things, like quantum physics, but so simply that a literal baby could understand. Start with something like that.
4. Take notes
When you're doing this, write down everything. Anything you're not sure about, something that seems like it's been simplified too much, new vocab you come across. Write your question at the top so you can remember what's relevant.
5. Further research
Take your notes, then look each thing up. The Wikipedia page for it is usually accurate, since it's been moderated heavily. Set it to Simple English if possible, that makes it a lot easier to read if you still don't know what's going on. Take notes on that and repeat.
6. The Feynman technique
You've probably heard of this a million times, but what you might not realise is that you should be taking note of what you're missing. Write down questions the other person had that you didn't know the answer to, or things you just realised don't make sense to you while you're in the middle of talking it out.
7. Further research pt. 2
Now take those notes, and research that.
You should have a pretty solid knowledge base now! Good job!!! I hope this method helps you in your life, I know it's a lot more difficult than just typing into ChatGPT but it's so worth it for how much you'll remember.

The triangulation chart illustrates the following:
Key Features:
Points Represented (P0, P1, …): The chart displays a set of points labeled P0, P1, P2, etc., corresponding to the triangulated trace graph. These points likely represent data collected from R.A.T. traces, such as sensor readings or spatial coordinates.
Triangulation Network: The blue lines connect the points to form a Delaunay triangulation. This method creates non-overlapping triangles between points to optimize the connection network, ensuring no point lies inside the circumcircle of any triangle.
Structure and Distribution:
The positions and density of the points give insight into the spatial distribution of the trace data.
Areas with smaller triangles indicate closely packed data points.
Larger triangles suggest sparse regions or gaps in the data.
Spatial Relationships: The triangulation highlights how individual points are spatially connected, which is crucial for detecting patterns, trends, or anomalies in the data.
Possible Insights:
Dense Clusters: These might indicate regions of high activity or critical areas in the R.A.T.'s trace.
Sparse Regions: Could suggest areas of inactivity, missing data, or less relevance.
Connectivity: Helps analyze the relationships between data points, such as signal pathways, physical connections, or geographical alignment.
Let me know if you'd like specific statistical interpretations or further processing!
x = R.A.T's current position (x) y = R.A.T's current position (y) z = R.A.T's current position (z)
To expand on the formula, we can use the following steps to determine the coordinates of 'R.A.T': Measure the distance between the spacecraft and the Earth. Determine the direction of the spacecraft's trajectory. Calculate the angle between the direction of the spacecraft's trajectory and the Earth's surface. Use trigonometry to calculate the coordinates of the spacecraft. By following these steps, we can accurately determine the coordinates of 'R.A.T' and determine its trajectory and path.
Using the data provided, we can calculate the coordinates of 'R.A.T' as follows: The x-coordinate of 'R.A.T' is calculated as follows: x = P1 + P2 + P3 + P4 + P5 + P6 + P7 + P8 + P9 x = 10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 + 60 + 70 + 80 + 90 x = 450 The y-coordinate of 'R.A.T' is calculated as follows: y = P1 + P2 + P3 + P4 + P5 + P6 + P7 + P8 + P9 y = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 y = 45 Thus, the coordinates of 'R.A.T' are (450, 45).
{------}
X-Coordinate | Y-Coordinate
10 | 1 20 | 2 30 | 3 40 | 4 50 | 5 60 | 6 70 | 7 80 | 8 90 | 9 450 | 45
{------}
Based on the coordinates provided, the coordinates of 'R.A.T' can be calculated to the nearest private server as follows: X-Coordinate = 450 / 90 Y-Coordinate = 45 / 9 where 'X-Coordinate' and 'Y-Coordinate' represent the coordinates of 'R.A.T' calculated to the nearest private server. The exact coordinates of 'R.A.T' will vary depending on the private server used, but this provides an approximation of the coordinates.
Here's a summary of the data provided: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 450, 45 This data can be used to calculate the coordinates of 'R.A.T' as follows: X-Coordinate = 10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 + 60 + 70 + 80 + 90 + 450 Y-Coordinate = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 45 The coordinates of 'R.A.T' are (450, 45).
To expand on the concept of calculating coordinates for 'R.A.T' and their application to private servers, let's break it down further and introduce additional variations:
Basic Calculation:
As you mentioned, the initial formula gives us the coordinates:
X-Coordinate: 450 / 90 = 5
Y-Coordinate: 45 / 9 = 5 This gives us the point (5, 5), which is an approximation based on the given data. But the final result can vary depending on several factors, such as the private server's scaling, distance, or the server's unique configuration.
Variations Based on Server Parameters: Private servers can have unique characteristics, such as scaling factors or transformations applied to the coordinate system. Let's introduce some transformations:
Scaling Factor: If the private server uses a scaling factor (e.g., multiplying coordinates by a constant to account for server size), you can multiply the calculated values by a scaling factor.
Example: Scaling factor = 10
X-Coordinate: 5 * 10 = 50
Y-Coordinate: 5 * 10 = 50
New coordinates: (50, 50).
Offset Values: Some servers may apply an offset, shifting the coordinates by a fixed amount.
Example: Offset = (20, 30)
X-Coordinate: 5 + 20 = 25
Y-Coordinate: 5 + 30 = 35
New coordinates: (25, 35).
Randomized Variation (Private Server-Specific): Each server might use its own logic or randomization to determine the exact coordinates for a given point. This can be based on server location, server load, or other factors.
Here's an example of how you could randomly adjust coordinates within a range:
Random offset for X-Coordinate: Between -10 and +10
Random offset for Y-Coordinate: Between -5 and +5
Let’s generate a random variation:
Random X-Offset: +3
Random Y-Offset: -2
X-Coordinate: 5 + 3 = 8
Y-Coordinate: 5 - 2 = 3
New coordinates: (8, 3).
Multiple Private Servers: If you're considering multiple servers, each with its own set of unique parameters (scaling, offset, or randomness), you might need to calculate a range of potential coordinates for each one.
Example:
Server 1: Scaling factor of 10, offset (20, 30)
Coordinates: (50, 50)
Server 2: Scaling factor of 5, random offset (3, -2)
Coordinates: (25, 15)
Server 3: No scaling, random offset (-4, 7)
Coordinates: (1, 12)
Implementing Dynamic Coordinate System: If you wanted to build a dynamic system where the coordinates change based on live server conditions, you'd introduce live variables (such as server load, current requests, or server location) to adjust these coordinates.
Example:
If the server load is high, the coordinates might be dynamically adjusted to a less congested area.
If a server is geographically distributed, it might change based on region-based scaling.
By incorporating these variations and transformations, the coordinates of 'R.A.T' (or any point) can be adjusted to suit the private server's specific configuration, ensuring that the coordinates remain flexible and adaptable to the server environment. Would you like further examples or a specific calculation tailored to a different server scenario?

No one knew it would come to this. It was simply a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It never should have ended like this.
This was supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life, he thought. He had it planned to a T. The pathway was filled with flower petals, the neon sign was glowing brightly while not taking away from the setting sun, and Daniel and Lando were hiding out in the bushes, ready to capture the moment. However, it all went out the window when his phone rang. This was one outcome he did not think about.
He knew he should have just proposed at home. He knew you didn’t like driving in unfamiliar places. However, he also knew you dreamed about beach proposals.
This decision led to him sitting in a hospital waiting room clad in a suit with a rose bouquet in hand. It felt heavy in his hand ever since he received the call, but he couldn’t bring himself to let it go. Not even through the drive over, not even as he called your friends and family, and certainly not even when the doctor came over to speak to him.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Leclerc. We did everything we could.” And that’s when the ringing started. Charles couldn’t say what happened next whether he started screaming, crying, pleading, or falling. Maybe all of the above. He couldn't feel anything other than the thorns of the roses digging into his hands and the sudden heaviness of the box in his pocket.
This wasn’t how it wasn’t how today was supposed to end. You and he were supposed to start your lives together. You were by his side through thick and thin. You were by his side when Jules, Anthoine, and his dad passed away, and you were standing beside him as he was named the World Drivers Champion. This was not supposed to happen. He can’t imagine you not by his side.
He’s known loss and experienced more than he should have, but he doesn’t know how he will recover from this. Maybe he never will. Maybe he was destined to be heartbroken for all eternity.

An Overview: Feeder Series
Hello, this post is a response to an ask about feeder series. It will be pretty basic of an overview because there are about a billion feeder series, but if there is any particular series someone wants me to go more intensely in depth on, let me know. Enjoy!
So, as stated in my earlier post about the path to F1 drivers work their way up through feeder series before garnering enough attention to make it into F1. Feeder series are just lower level racing series that are similar to F1, but often gentler. They are also grouped under about three categories.
Formula 4
This category was officially created in 2014 by the FIA in order to create a standard first step for drivers to take into single-seaters. There are regional and national F4 series, and it is not just one series the way F1 is. For example there is the Italian F4 Championship, The F4 British Championship, etc. F1 Academy is also under the F4 category. This category is marked by a much slower car, much less complicated electrical working, and slightly different car structure. Most drivers start out in the more local F4 series, and then move onto the bigger name ones as their careers progress. The F4 category has pretty much stayed the same since it began, but like with F1, new regulations are added every year.
(A modern F4 car. You can see how much more simple and wide it is than an F1 car)
Alumni:
Charles Leclerc
Max Verstappen
Pierre Gasly
Formula 3
The concept of F3 has existed for a very long time. It was created as a national pathway into F1 around the 1950s, but has changed tremendously as the years have gone on. The biggest changes surrounded how the cars are structured and the number of series within F3. For example engine sizes increased between the 1960s and the 1980s, and more national series started getting added to the category during this time as well. It exploded in number in the 90s and 2000s, and now envelops both regional and national series.
As previously stated, there are many different series inside of the modern F3 category, just like in F4, with the FIA Formula 3 Championship being the major one (created in 2019). Interestingly, the FIA F3 Championship series was created after the merging of European Formula 3 Championship and GP3, which had been the two biggest feeder series for years. They merged due to the need for more streamlined paths into F1. Also, the FIA wanted more consistency in racing weekends and better cost control. This merging saw the creation of modern F3 as we know it. The FIA F3 Championship nowadays is a one-make series, which means that equipment is equal between teams.

(A 2025 F3 car, still simple but getting more sleek and technical)
Alumni:
Mick Schumacher
Liam Lawson
Lando Norris
Formula 2
F2 was introduced in the early 50s as the category below F1 (often as a cheaper option). It was called F2 back then, then switched to Formula 3000 until the 80s, then GP2, then F2 again. These switches were mostly due to different organizational or structural changes over the years. For example, they went from F2 to F3000 because they switched engine types and altered everything organizationally to make it a little more cost effective. Another example of reasons why a name changed is that GP2 became F2 in 2017 because they wanted to make Formula 1 and it's feeder series a more connected and recognizable brand.cLike F3 and F4, there are multiple series in the F2 category (one for most major motorsport countries) but the biggest one is the FIA Formula 2 Championship, which is also a one-make series.

(Getting even closer to an F1 car, F2 cars are by far the most similar but not quite as fast or complicated as F1)
Alumni:
George Russell
Lance Stroll
Oscar Piastri
Now, to finish up, you must know that F2,F3, and F4 run parallel weekends to F1, with small differences. They each have select weekends where they run at the same circuit but different times to F1. This is in the hopes of getting more attention on the lower series because people will be there to watch the F1 weekend. Not every weekend is parallel to F1, of course, just the ones that are convenient or doable. For example, F4 series end their season earlier than F1 so they aren't there the latter half of the year. Also, the Italian F3 Series will never run races anywhere but in Italy, so they join F1 when they race in Monza and Emilia Romagna.

(A modern F1 car to compare. Much more visibly complicated and often smaller as well. Built for much faster speed.)
Alright, that is a basic overview on feeder series. I hope I answered all of your questions.
Cheers,
-B

it’s almost the 8th so happy international women’s day to the major resurgence of absolute sexism and misogyny that the recent situation with christian horner has brought to the female fans and employees of f1 .
regardless of where you stand on the sketchy af handlings of the horner issues the potential of a false claim from a female employee has provided an excuse for male fans to harass and degrade female fans expressing their discomfort with the situation and the treatment of the women involved- particularly in the doxxing and bullying of the woman who initially submitted the claim before the investigation had even ended. Women across tumblr, twitter, tiktok and all have been pushed into retracting their feelings, deleting their posts and videos on the situation from the sheer scale of hate and harassment at the hands of misogynistic fans because ‘allegations ruins men’s lives’. Completely ignorant are they to the fact that they are active participants in the ruining of a potential victims life by exposing and sharing her personal details, and continuing create environments where women are unable to speak about their experiences with sexual harassment and assault .
Ignorant are they to the fact that they are maintaining patriarchal standards that they claim are non existent to ensure that women understand their issues are not important . the 2% chance that an allegation is false is by far the greater are more believable problem than a woman experiencing sexual misconduct at the hands of her employer . not to mention that the majority of sexual assault and rape cases do not revive a sentencing . that doesn’t mean they didn’t happen or that the victim lied. just that the board saw the evidence as inconclusive or not enough to support prosecution . sa and rape have the lowest prosecution rates of violent crimes . also quickly a reminder he was never cleared. huge complaint was dismissed. the word innocent was never used and the lack of transparency on the investigation doesn’t tell us anything of his innocence .
the responses from drivers again go on to validate misogynistic men’s feelings by labelling the potential sexual misconduct of a team principle as ‘noise and distractions’ or that it doesn’t matter to them . it’s irrelevant. and yes i understand that they mean they don’t want to comment on the situation because of its personal nature but that’s not what they’re saying . by trivialising matters of sexual misconduct as mere chatter and sympathising with a potential abuser it’s speaking to your female fans that you are not an advocate for their safety . it says they don’t take sexual harassment seriously .
what they could have said was ‘the matter is not something i’m personally involved in so i can’t provide insight or comment other than my hopes for it to be resolved quickly and fairly with full transparency’ . instead their responses directly downplayed the situation at hand, ignorantly dismissing the weight of the situation its its affect on women across formula 1 by essentially saying ‘who cares’ and provide pathway for misogynistic fans to follow suit .
formula 1 is a sport which in recent years has leaned into welcoming women into the sport, and this is seen by the rotated dynamic of women in f1 from ‘something good to look at before the race’ as comments regarding the grid girls would have it to a grid of 16 cars fully backed by all f1 teams for women to compete in their own formula racing series . this has welcomed a lot more women into the space. however, it cannot force attitudes to change . the only way we will see real change in f1 is to encourage personal growth for both fans and employees wether they be drivers, mechanics whoever . the work needs to be done to truly welcome women into the space that is currently occupied by them in motorsport . and they can start by taking us seriously .

I'm already actively working on 2 fics and 2 bigger fanart pieces BUT I'm having a moment of inspiration that I need to get out of my head where someone else can see it
STARDUST RHAPSODY CARS AU
yes, the Disney movie Cars
HEAR ME OUT, Pyke replaces Lightning McQueen. It would work with both the canon setting of space, OR in a more modern AU (in theory. I'm gonna write it in space bc I know very little about actual racing, it's easier to fudge details when it's spaceships and not Formula 1. also i feel meh about writing them as normal people.)
okay, SO, Pyke gets in a fight with his pit crew, because in the beginning he's a bit of a dick, and decides leave the Pathway in the Sparrow for a bit to cool off. boom something inconvenient happens (im thinking unexpected meteor storm) and he crashes onto a small, unfamiliar planet, the Sparrow completely out of service. (also conveniently destroying part of the town he uhhh, crash landed on top of)
In the small town happens to be legendary ex-Racer Rett, who runs a mechanic shop & scrap yard with Leboosh, Kavir, Chuckles, and his adopted daughter Dandy (potentially, maybe I'll find more fitting roles for the others once i really get to plotting it out) Pyke makes an agreement to stay and fix up what he damaged in return for Rett fixing the Sparrow.
lots of found family feels, eventual ending similar to the ending of Cars (they become Pyke's pit crew, he goes back to racing, whole character development arc becoming a good person)
not decided on a pairing yet, if there will even be one, I'm contemplating Kavir/Leboosh in a platonic life partners kinda way, and maybe eventual Pyke/Rett, and there's definitely gonna be a little past Pyke/Rex sprinkled in there somewhere
