Funny, I got the distinct feeling that something is quite off...
Something's not quite right...
An Illusion! What are you hiding!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imma ask one thing.
Where the fuck does Garou suddenly pull the core from? His ass? Thin air?
How does it suddenly magically appear in his hand when he never picks up anything?
Does he just have a sudden hammerspace at hand? He never displayed those powers. Hidden power?
And it turns out...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is not even the same core.
The core is unique part of Genos. You can't tell me the Doctor would suddenly have the need to magically swap the screws binding the core together for no reason.
Upon closer look, there is also complete lack of inner area of the core visible, like the sides powering up the nuclear fusion inside.
The most worrying small detail is the very small, black cube in the middle. On top of the text.
And honestly speaking?
Tumblr media
If Garou pulls the core out first, why is there even so much of Genos' blood in it? Or smudges of what we think is his blood?
And there is more...
Tumblr media
If Garou had actually smashed through the core itself, it would either be broken or his hand would be seen grabbing the core. Otherwise it would just fly off into the distance.
The side perspective makes it look like he really smashed through the middle, but trying to bend myself into this position irl, the perspective makes no sense anymore either. The looks like he smashed the side of his chest instead.
--
The conclusion?
The moon battle? It's so damn fake. To make Saitama open up a neural pathway to his subconscious again and make the subconscious conscious thought and feel immense emotional guilt.
To the point his hand monsterized and we never noticed it because we've been led to think it's his glove that was ONLY added later...just like the destruction of his hero suit, to symbolically tell he lost his confidence in his own heroism, was later "fixed".
(Garou shredding his heroism with a martial arts move that shreds it's targets with killing intent like a monster hand...sounds symbolical enough to be used...)
I was wondering why his glove looked like a monster hand at first glance and I was like hold on...but again, Hand turning evil reference. He's not actually channeling his power into anything but his bare hand and basically charging that left hand of his with TONS of negative emotion and thoughts.
Same hand is glued to Tatsumaki rn, because of this. He's subconsciously using his power and does not know this.
Tumblr media
But his loss of confidence would've happened way earlier and his suit should've been shredded during serious punch2. Again, his hero suit does not disappear. Because he can still trust his sense of heroism, as long as the core stays with him. He was probably never naked in the first place and when you think about it...his hero suit is just as important to him as Genos has become. If he can protect a simple core, why can't he protect his suit at the same time? Why is the dead core symbolically more important than his heroism when his heroism is REQUIRED to keep the fake core intact?
Lack of multitasking? Psh please, he subconsciously protects his suit all the frikken time.
The only time he loses belief is when he feels like he has to muster killing intent. If he has no belief in his heroism...then he might as well be a villain and that is a cognitive dissonance in itself. He never stopped believing himself to be a hero, but it was done so he would lose confidence in himself and how to do heroic acts and so, lose his willpower to do morally good heroic acts.
Tumblr media
The perspectives in this "memory" worries me a lot too. Genos sees his own death from Saitama's perspective BEFORE he got the core in his hands.
This perspective can't be Saitama's perspective at all.
The core never glows with divine power. Genos himself is the one who glows. Because the inner divine power is not stored in his stupid core no, it's stored...in the head. That's why their eyes glow to denote divine power.
Saitama is basically sending all his grief to an empty hand.
How do I know there's something more funky going on?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He magically swaps the core between his hands, and then back again at the next panel. Which I had originally thought was just a drawing error...but it is insidiously clever ploy.
Care to imagine like...if someone suddenly tossed the core at him and he caught it with his right hand...and was told-
"Aren't you a bit late to the party?"
Then he would suddenly remember. Probably Genos' birthday or something.
And then finish it with a phrase "Hey stop juggling it! Why didn't you grip it tightly? You dropped it you klutz!"
Saitama would look back at that same hand...and find missing. Like it never existed. And look at his left hand, a monster hand and find it missing too. And remember that feeling of missing his soulmate and associating it with the core.
And basically the pit of his heart would tell him he lost the only connection to his soulmate he had in this world because he was just extremely callous and careless, instead of protective and tender. His very hands are monstrous.
Tumblr media
Saitama as we know him, would completely shatter. This is too much mental trauma to recover from.
This, alongside Tatsumaki twisting their chi, can all be devastating paths of purgatory.
--
So, do I have anymore evidence?
In fact yes.
Tumblr media
The core's aura changes from normal light source that may or may not be Saitama's normal divine power because he connects to Genos and his psyche while touching his hand...to divine power empowered. But it is not happy-go-lucky divine power, this is the sun eclipse, same aura as Garou and monsterized sun. The screws are once again, different. Real core has pentagon shaped (haha) screws, new one has round ones... Carl Jung "self" reference like Psykos scarf.
Tumblr media
I have a feeling our dearest heroes may have fallen under hypnosis. Not unlike Infinite Tsukuyomi from Naruto. But Saitama definitely is under a lot of suggestion currently.
Who here is betting he was hypnotized when he broke out under the rocks and put to sleep so he could not make it to Genos in time? He was already tired and stressed out, it would've been easy.
In the New Age community, techniques such as autosuggestion and affirmations are believed to harness the power of the subconscious to influence a person's life and real-world outcomes, even curing sickness. Skeptical Inquirer magazine criticized the lack of falsifiability and testability of these claims. Physicist Ali Alousi, for instance, criticized it as unmeasurable and questioned the likelihood that thoughts can affect anything outside the head.
Affirmations
Autosuggestion
Binaural beats
Hypnosis
Subliminal message
Good thing Genos never tried to verify the claim that the core memories were even correct or even possible eh? Eh? That's an autosuggestion if I've ever seen one.
--
In light of this...
ONE and Murata-sensei, if you had Genos assassinated so you can character assassinate Saitama later when you break the spell on him, as the reddit so often complains you keep on doing...you absolute monsters and madlads. How dare you. But also, bravo. What a plan.
--
What a possible crisis and a crime about to happen indeed. Dear me.
I feel like I have to do something here to help out Saitama, Genos and rest, since this ain't looking too good. Also so Genos' sacrifice won't be in vain. Welp.
King.
You have my utmost confidence in this. I believe in you.
Take my spare key and go save the world of One Punch Man.
Inside you will find hopes and dreams for the future, psychostimulants and 1-UP if you need them.
Have this Bag of Holding with supplies and rations too.
Oh and a navigator. "It's dangerous to go alone, take this!"
I shall make you my secret agent. As for what you do with that power, you already know that fully well.
We'll need these people home. In One Piece.
Don't let poets of the fall lock up the sun.
I'm the pretty sailor soldier of love and justice, Sailor Moon! In the name of the moon, I will punish them!
Take these buffs with you.
Rallying cry of the dragonslayer. Lok'tar Ogar, For the Horde!
Also my abilities Temporal shield, Alter time and Timewarp. So you can turn back the clock.
Oh and give Saitama this crumpled note message. It's code. Use the first letter of each line.
Good luck, 007. Don't cock it up.
(Or should I say, Hiro.)

🎮 HEY I WANNA MAKE A GAME! 🎮
Yeah I getcha. I was once like you. Pure and naive. Great news. I AM STILL PURE AND NAIVE, GAME DEV IS FUN! But where to start?
To start, here are a couple of entry level softwares you can use! source: I just made a game called In Stars and Time and people are asking me how to start making vidy gaems. Now, without further ado:
SOFTWARES AND ENGINES FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO CODE!!!
Tumblr media
Ren'py (and also a link to it if you click here do it): THE visual novel software. Comic artists, look no further ✨Pros: It's free! It's simple! It has great documentation! It has a bunch of plugins and UI stuff and assets for you to buy! It can be used even if you have LITERALLY no programming experience! (You'll just need to read the doc a bunch) You can also port your game to a BUNCH of consoles! ✨Cons: None really <3 Some games to look at: Doki Doki Literature Club, Bad End Theater, Butterfly Soup
Tumblr media
Twine: Great for text-based games! GREAT FOR WRITERS WHO DONT WANNA DRAW!!!!!!!!! (but you can draw if you want) ✨Pros: It's free! It's simple! It's versatile! It has great documentation! It can be used even if you have LITERALLY no programming experience! (You'll just need to read the doc a bunch) ✨Cons: You can add pictures, but it's a pain. Some games to look at: The Uncle Who Works For Nintendo, Queers In love At The End of The World, Escape Velocity
Tumblr media
Bitsy: Little topdown games! ✨Pros: It's free! It's simple! It's (somewhat) intuitive! It has great documentation! It can be used even if you have LITERALLY no programming experience! You can make everything in it, from text to sprites to code! Those games sure are small! ✨Cons: Those games sure are small. This is to make THE simplest game. Barely any animation for your sprites, can barely fit a line of text in there. But honestly, the restrictions are refreshing! Some games to look at: honestly I haven't played that many bitsy games because i am a fake gamer. The picture above is from Under A Star Called Sun though and that looks so pretty
Tumblr media
RPGMaker: To make RPGs! LIKE ME!!!!! NOTE: I recommend getting the latest version if you can, but all have their pros and cons. You can get a better idea by looking at this post. ✨Pros: Literally everything you need to make an RPG. Has a tutorial inside the software itself that will teach you the basics. Pretty simple to understand, even if you have no coding experience! Also I made a post helping you out with RPGMaker right here! ✨Cons: Some stuff can be hard to figure out. Also, the latest version is expensive. Get it on sale! Some games to look at: Yume Nikki, Hylics, In Stars and Time (hehe. I made it)
Tumblr media
engine.lol: collage worlds! it is relatively new so I don't know much about it, but it seems fascinating. picture is from Garden! NOTE: There's a bunch of smaller engines to find out there. Just yesterday I found out there's an Idle Game Maker made by the Cookie Clicker creator. Isn't life wonderful?
✨more advice under the cut. this is Long ok✨
ENGINES I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AND THEY SEEM HARD BUT ALSO GIVE IT A TRY I GUESS!!!! :
Unity and Unreal: I don't know anything about those! That looks hard to learn! But indie devs use them! It seems expensive! Follow your dreams though! Don't ask me how!
GameMaker: Wuh I just don't know anything about it either! I just know it's now free if your game is non-commercial (aka, you're not selling it), and Undertale was made on it! It seems good! You probably need some coding experience though!!!
Godot: Man I know even less about this one. Heard good things though!
BUNCHA RANDOM ADVICE!!!!
-Make something small first! Try making simple: a character is in a room, and exits the room. The character can look around, decide to take an item with them, can leave, and maybe the door is locked and you have to find the key. Figuring out how to code something like that, whether it is as a fully text-based game or as an RPGMaker map, should be a good start to figure out how your software of choice works!
-After that, if you have an idea, try first to make the simplest version of that idea. For my timeloop RPG, my simplest version was two rooms: first room you can walk in, second room with the King, where a cutscene automatically plays and the battle starts, you immediately die, and loop back to the first room, with the text from this point on reflecting this change. I think I also added a loop counter. This helped me figure out the most important thing: Can This Game Be Made? After that, the rest is just fun stuff. So if you want to make a dating sim, try and figure out how to add choices, and how to have affection points go up and down depending on your choices! If you want to make a platformer, figure out how to make your character move and jump and how to create a simple level! If you just want to make a kinetic visual novel with no choices, figure out how to add text, and how to add portraits! You'll be surprised at how powerful you'll feel after having figured even those simple things out.
-If you have a programming problem or just get confused, never underestimate the power of asking Google! You most likely won't be the only person asking this question, and you will learn some useful tips! If you are powerful enough, you can even… Ask people??? On forums??? Not me though.
-Yeah I know you probably want to make Your Big Idea RIGHT NOW but please. Make a smaller prototype first. You need to get that experience. Trust me.
-If you are not a womanthing of many skills like me, you might realize you need help. Maybe you need an artist, or a programmer. So! Game jams on itch.io are a great way to get to work and meet other game devs that have different strengths! Or ask around! Maybe your artist friend secretly always wanted to draw for a game. Ask! Collaborate! Have fun!!!
I hope that was useful! If it was. Maybe. You'd like to buy me a coffee. Or maybe you could check out my comics and games. Or just my new critically acclaimed game In Stars and Time. If you want. Ok bye

i think my favourite part of the ratfish episodes are the fact that it's the most accurate portrayal of friendship i can think of. here's all your friends but they're anonymous, make each other laugh. it's always one specific thing that would make no one else bat an eye that makes you get made by someone else. katie made a joke about anti-depressants and immediately got clocked by rekha. zac mentioned publix and grant went "that's zac." grant chose a bette midler song and ally went "gay ass. probably grant." zac didn't get any vibes at all from steven and realised he knows his friends better than this. i do not know this person in real life.

I used to enjoy Pokemon games a lot, but lately some of the newer entries have been kinda controversial due a variety of issues.
But instead of focusing on that, i'm here to bring you back to the past to the Nintendo DS era of Pokemon, where many (myself included) would say that the quality and care of the series was at it's peak!
Games included in this collection:

OK, I know I usually talk about fantasy archery in a positive sense, but I think there’s also a place for (hopefully constructive) criticism of tropes that could do with improving!
If you like this sort of thing, here’s the full video:

Height comparison chart based on the in-game models
Dragonborn Durge is 6'8" or 204cm. Halsin and Minsc are 6'7" or 200cm. Karlach is 6'4" or 192cm. Devil form Wyll is 6'1" or 185cm (the horns net him ~2 in / ~5cm!) Human form Wyll, Astarion, and Gale are 5'11" or 180 cm. Jaheira, Shadowheart, Minthara, and Lae'zel are 5'7" or 170cm.
The models are a little bigger in Blender than they would be in the real world. Devil Wyll was 6'7" going by his model in blender, which is just...Not Correct.
This could be because my extracts scaled slightly wrong when i imported them into blender, or the in-game scale is slightly larger than the real world, or they're just modeled a little taller than they're meant to be to make them look biggg. (my vote is that i fucked the scale. rip y'all's estimation of my intelligence.)
Whatever the reason, I knew that they were all scaled wrong in the same way. This means that instead of giving up a futile pursuit, I could do math to figure out something more reasonable.
We happen to know that Astarion is "approximately 5'11"."
Tumblr media
I used that as a baseline. So, with our scale established, we get something like this:
Tumblr media
Other notes:
Shadowheart/Jahiera/Minthara, Minsc/Halsin, and Gale/Astarion/Wyll share the same heights because they use the same body model.
I'm decently certain that githyanki share an armature with elves/half-elves/drow/humans, so even though the gith body model looks different, Lae'zel is the same height as the other gals to line up with their armature's bones.
I didn't include hair or head accessories (like Shadowheart's) in the total height (that's cheating).
I did include Durge's and Karlach's horns in their overall height, but Karlach's really don't add much (maybe a cm or 2).
Average height worldwide (on Earth) for men is 5'9"/ 175 cm, and for women is 5'4" / 161 cm, so they're all quite tall, but mostly still within a standard deviation of the average.
Except for Karlach, Halsin, and Minsc, who are in the 99.9th percentile for height! They're not tall, they're huge.

Note to Self - Speaking without Words with Word Balloons
Word gallons are for more than just words. They can be used to emphasis and even add emotions and to a scene
Feeling dizzy? About to pass out?
Tumblr media
A lilting playful swirl (Time and Time Again by Deo I)
Tumblr media
The white and black of the text has been replaced with a sinister black and the words are off tilter (Sword Interval by Benjamin Fleuter)
Tumblr media
The voice is coming from a place deeper and more unsettling and the text is uneven and handwritten
Tumblr media
A dismissive comment literally (metaphorically) stabs someone (Marionetta by Míriam Bonastre Tur)
Tumblr media
Being interrupted before finishing what is being said
Tumblr media
A withering and icy reply (The Secrets of Soulford by the Quincil)
Tumblr media
Wobbly uncertain bubbles that even break apart in some parts from dizziness (The Blind Prince by cozycroww)
Tumblr media
Pain almost appears to be breaking the usually round bubble into uneven and broken balloons. The little smaller balloons around it are reminiscent of sweat or tears (Heir’s Game by suspu)

📚 A List Of Useful Websites When Making An RPG 📚
My timeloop RPG In Stars and Time is done! Which means I can clear all my ISAT gamedev related bookmarks. But I figured I would show them here, in case they can be useful to someone. These range from "useful to write a story/characters/world" to "these are SUPER rpgmaker focused and will help with the terrible math that comes with making a game".
This is what I used to make my RPG game, but it could be useful for writers, game devs of all genres, DMs, artists, what have you. YIPPEE
Writing (Names)
Behind The Name - Why don't you have this bookmarked already. Search for names and their meanings from all over the world!
Medieval Names Archive - Medieval names. Useful. For ME
City and Town Name Generator - Create "fake" names for cities, generated from datasets from any country you desire! I used those for the couple city names in ISAT. I say "fake" in quotes because some of them do end up being actual city names, especially for french generated ones. Don't forget to double check you're not 1. just taking a real city name or 2. using a word that's like, Very Bad, especially if you don't know the country you're taking inspiration from! Don't want to end up with Poopaville, USA
Writing (Words)
Onym - A website full of websites that are full of words. And by that I mean dictionaries, thesauruses, translators, glossaries, ways to mix up words, and way more. HIGHLY recommend checking this website out!!!
Moby Thesaurus - My thesaurus of choice!
Rhyme Zone - Find words that rhyme with others. Perfect for poets, lyricists, punmasters.
In Different Languages - Search for a word, have it translated in MANY different languages in one page.
ASSETS
In general, I will say: just look up what you want on itch.io. There are SO MANY assets for you to buy on itch.io. You want a font? You want a background? You want a sound effect? You want a plugin? A pixel base? An attack animation? A cool UI?!?!?! JUST GO ON ITCH.IO!!!!!!
Visual Assets (General)
Creative Market - Shop for all kinds of assets, from fonts to mockups to templates to brushes to WHATEVER YOU WANT
Velvetyne - Cool and weird fonts
Chevy Ray's Pixel Fonts - They're good fonts.
Contrast Checker - Stop making your text white when your background is lime green no one can read that shit babe!!!!!!
Visual Assets (Game Focused)
Interface In Game - Screenshots of UI (User Interfaces) from SO MANY GAMES. Shows you everything and you can just look at what every single menu in a game looks like. You can also sort them by game genre! GREAT reference!
Game UI Database - Same as above!
Sound Assets
Zapsplat, Freesound - There are many sound effect websites out there but those are the ones I saved. Royalty free!
Shapeforms - Paid packs for music and sounds and stuff.
Other
CloudConvert - Convert files into other files. MAKE THAT .AVI A .MOV
EZGifs - Make those gifs bigger. Smaller. Optimize them. Take a video and make it a gif. The Sky Is The Limit
Marketing
Press Kitty - Did not end up needing this- this will help with creating a press kit! Useful for ANY indie dev. Yes, even if you're making a tiny game, you should have a press kit. You never know!!!
presskit() - Same as above, but a different one.
Itch.io Page Image Guide and Templates - Make your project pages on itch.io look nice.
MOOMANiBE's IGF post - If you're making indie games, you might wanna try and submit your game to the Independent Game Festival at some point. Here are some tips on how, and why you should.
Game Design (General)
An insightful thread where game developers discuss hidden mechanics designed to make games feel more interesting - Title says it all. Check those comments too.
Game Design (RPGs)
Yanfly "Let's Make a Game" Comics - INCREDIBLY useful tips on how to make RPGs, going from dungeons to towns to enemy stats!!!!
Attack Patterns - A nice post on enemy attack patterns, and what attacks you should give your enemies to make them challenging (but not TOO challenging!) A very good starting point.
How To Balance An RPG - Twitter thread on how to balance player stats VS enemy stats.
Nobody Cares About It But It’s The Only Thing That Matters: Pacing And Level Design In JRPGs - a Good Post.
Game Design (Visual Novels)
Feniks Renpy Tutorials - They're good tutorials.
I played over 100 visual novels in one month and here’s my advice to devs. - General VN advice. Also highly recommend this whole blog for help on marketing your games.
I hope that was useful! If it was. Maybe. You'd like to buy me a coffee. Or maybe you could check out my comics and games. Or just my new critically acclaimed game In Stars and Time. If you want. Ok bye
