in most fics I have read (if not all) the idea goes that only Jason can cook and the rest can't cook at all but bffr they probably all learnt cooking as part of their training because they need to be prepared for any scenario and/or mission where cooking, a basic survival skill, is definitely going to be needed

so for me, the question is not whether they can cook. I headcanon them all as being able to cook, but it's more about what they cook and how they cook ;;

Jason is a feels cook. It comes naturally to him, he doesn't need measurements except just a rough idea of how much and he manages to cook fabulously even without a set recipe. He can taste a dish once and replicate it to 80-90% accuracy.

Tim treats it kind of like chemistry lab time. He needs exact measurements, how many mg and how many tablespoons. He's the type to note down the recipes and scream at "WTF IS ACCORDING TO TASTE" because he needs exact amounts. But because he is super methodical, the food always turns out good. Just, it will always taste the slightest bit different for some reason. He can't figure out why, but no dish ever tastes the same even when he does exactly the same process.

Dick is an experimentor. He can cook and he certainly is good at the usual dishes, but I envision him being someone who's not afraid to mix and match and come up with new combinations. Jason is mildly horrified by some of them. Tim doesn't experiment himself, but he always offers to taste test for Dick because he can stomach anything. Dick has introduced some weird combo to every batfam member that they absolutely love and would have never thought they would like.

Damian is still pretty new to the cooking thing but he's learning from all of them and I imagine he would be a heartfelt cook. His dishes would be ones with history, or culture, or some significance to the person. He cooks with the person eating in mind. He cooks with diligence, with focus, with a way that shows his love silently, but through every bite. He would do any dish, even ones that take a long time, and they all taste so rich and flavorful.

Bruce doesn't cook much, but he knows just enough to survive. Thing is, he doesn't like his own food very much. And he doesn't have to eat his own food because there's usually Alfred, and if not him, all of his children are quite good cooks too.

They all might cook differently, but to him, all of their food tastes like home and warmth. And he wouldn't trade that for the world.

Solangelo Hades AU!!

Nico and Will were once promising mortals. One was a prince of a powerful kingdom, and one was an apprentice of the God of healing, Asclepius.

🌞 For Will:

- Talented healer under Asclepius. He's as skillful as his teacher, but he couldn't raise the dead (yet).

- He acted as medic in a lot of army camps. Well known to be throwing himself into the battle to retrieve injured soldiers.

- He died at the same time as Asclepius.

- His selfless act on the battlefield was enough proof for him to stay in Elysium.

💀 For Nico:

- He was the next in heir for his kingdom. Skilled in battle and good with the people.

- But when he's king, his mother and sister was assassinated one by one. Filled with rage and grief, Nico blindly hunted down the murderer, thus leading to his fallen kingdom.

- He died after successfully killed who he wanted.

🧑‍🦯 The unpolished plot I thought of:

- They met in Elysium, Will was the one who talked with Nico first. Will is way older than Nico.

- Love each other enough to have the iconic coin ring exchange.

- Nico is quite skilled with controlling and telling the other shades what to do, so Hades yoinked him, made him a staff to help the House function faster.

- Nico still have to stay and can only leave when Hades agree (5% rate of success).

- But Zagreus can help. How? I haven't figured that out yet 🤡

took some liberty interpreting his wings ands his eyebrows as i stated on here earlier😏 gives him split eyebrows bc 1. it kind of looks like he has them in the manga 2. he's an aquarius 3. it's moth-core 4. it's cool.

🐛The caterpillar species is also chosen intentionally, although untagged in the piece. It's a Papilio Polyxenes' caterpillar, aka parsley worm for feeding on parsley before turning into butterflies. I read books state parsley was dedicated to Persephone ands used in the funerary cult. still looking for the original source though

I'm taking university entrance exams (two different ones!) this week so i'll probably not be online much until weekend. The pre-reading material was released only today so i'll be trying to cram it into my head 🫡

mock exam 2 & a day off 📖

My ap english mock exam could’ve gone so well, if it hadn’t been for the third supervisor we had…As predicted I chose the exam on The Circle. Content wise everything worked out perfectly, and while the essay we had to write was rather annoying (we had to come up with 8 arguments in total), I managed to work through everything in 2.5 hours.

I handed my exam in and then sat down at my desk with my phone to pass the following 1.5h since we weren’t allowed to leave. After 15min of scrolling (which the supervisor saw) I went to use the bathroom with my phone in my pocket. When I came back the supervisor announced to me that I wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom with my phone (even after handing in) and that he’d have to inform my teacher about it. That I had no idea about this rule and therefore didn’t even consider the possibility of this being forbidden apparently doesn’t matter. That means if my teacher is unhappy about the situation he can mark my exam as failed for trying to ‚cheat‘…Im considering writing him a mail to explain what happened. A bloody nightmare luv, a bloody nightmare.

Because of this stress I decided to take the day off from studying. Let’s hope tomorrow is better…
