Looking enviously at all the people on here who are in college hits on a different level when I dropped out of highschool and SHOULD have my GED by now but the lady at the place never called us back

There is a very strange disconnect between thinking that I'm a horrible student, an awful academic, etc.etc., and looking at my transcripts to see that I've only gotten 3 grades lower than an A in my entire 5 years of college/university schooling. The 3 grades were two B+ and one B. But I'm CONVINCED that if i get a B in any one of my three classes this semester, I won't be able to graduate.

Even if i get a B in one of my classes, I will still graduate summa cum laude (if my math is correct, anyway). And yet this anxiety that I have is convinced that it's not good enough.

(this is kind of just me parsing out how bad my academic anxiety is so that *I* can understand it, because even with it all laid out like this in a way that makes it so obvious everything is going to be okay, my anxiety still says I can't accept it. hm.)

I think it’s incredibly fucked how capitalism discourages learning for learning’s sake. People will have interests they’ve spent years researching then say it’s “useless knowledge” bc it didn’t go towards a college degree and isn’t part of their job. Learning is never useless! Your brain is growing and developing throughout your whole life! People would never have epiphanies or sudden lightening strikes of creativity if they weren’t learning new things! That goes double for topics like science, politics, and history, which inform your understanding of the world you live in!
