After what felt like years of convincing, your friends had finally dragged you (literally,,,) to the so-called, 'party of the century'. You wouldn't exactly describe yourself as the type, but apparently they would be there. That obviously wasn't the entire reason you were going, you just, suddenly felt the urge to become a party person. You could do that, just for one night at least. How hard could it be?
Well, evidently, you had come to regret that sentiment. Were they really worth you getting all dressed up? What were the odds you'd even see them anyways? It's not like you had a plan either, you knew that step one was 'get dressed and look good', that's always how it goes in movies, but then what? They're supposed to be magically drawn to this hot, new, confident aura you're exuding? This was a stupid idea, you realise, far too late, as you stand in front of a door that looked almost as if it were about to fall off its hinges. It was practically pulsating from the strobing lights and deafening music coming from within, and you wondered if coming tonight was a decision made by your better judgement. It was not.
"Come on! It's gonna be fun, let's go already!"
Before you could consider turning around, you were quickly whisked inside by your friend grabbing you by the arm and yanking you into this booze-filled sweathole from hell. It seemed that every corner you turned, you ran the risk of crashing into stumbling idiots or drunk couples aggressively making out against a nearby wall. Your mind began to wander as you watched the closest couple, their hands roaming across each other, tearing away at each others clothes engulfed in nothing else in the world aside from bodies, their passion and the momentary escape from-
"Hey."
Your eyes are torn from the lovers entwined. You knew that voice. This was seriously cliche, wasn't it? You look up, and make eye contact with them. The stupid grin that never could be quite wiped off their smug face, the annoying way they'd look down at you wordlessly, but the expression telling you everything you needed to know. You looked up, and knew you wanted nothing more than to whack them across the face just to get them to stop smirking at you. But by God, what a face to whack. Before you could raise your hands, or even open your mouth to attempt a retort, you felt cool skin against yours and a hand cup the back of your neck. Widening your eyes at the sudden movement, you glance down at their chest, pressed against yours, before looking up to meet their eyes, staring into your own.
"This isn't your scene."
You look sideways, avoiding eye contact.
"I saw you watching Romeo and Juliet over there too. You only came here for one reason, didn't you?"
They tilt their head expectantly, yet again, you stare anywhere but at them. God.
"Yes, or no?"
They whisper into your ear, and you run through every possible scenario you had imagined this night going. This one seemed like a pretty good alternative to the hellish one you had expected, filled with drunks and wanting to leave yet having to follow around your friends all night. Though, if you went with them, it'd mean giving in. Did you really want to give them the satisfaction of knowing you would so easily just run off with them? That they were well and truly the only reason you were here? Provided they hadn't already figured that out for sure, but you doubted it based on this. Pulling this stunt, in a crowd, where people could see? They knew you wanted them, and you knew you couldn't deny it. You always had to go for the cocky ones, huh.
You look up at them, finally locking eyes, and nod.

“What are you reading Y/n/n?” Jughead said as he came over to his girls booth at Pop’s.
Y/n turned to show him the title of her latest book. Smiling as her Juggie sat down right next to her rather than across from her.
“What are you up to today Juggie?” Y/n asked putting her back down to give Jughead her full attention. Taking off her glasses and setting them down on top of her book.
“Just spending time with you.” He shrugs a shoulder and wraps his opposite arm around her shoulders. “You wanna head back to the trailer?” Jughead asks brushing her y/h/l  y/h/c  hair back so he could see her face clearer.
“Sure.” Y/n nodds packing her stuff up. Totally ready for a night in with her boyfriend.

Hi!! I love your writing! And I was wondering how you set a scene like the actual setting. I feel like my setting is always lacking and that the readers won’t understand the atmosphere i’m setting or wont know where the setting is taking place. Sorry if this makes no sense.
hey man, thank you so much, and so honored you're coming to me for writing advice 😂 tbh I also feel like I'm bad at setting a scene, so I suspect there's an element of underestimation on our parts in terms how much detail the reader's capable of filling in on their own. I tend to start a lot my scenes with a bunch of dialogue or an action/thought, which doesn't always comment on when/where something's taking place, so I definitely feel your pain - there have for sure been times where I have to actively pick a place to insert that info as organically as I can. I will say I typically only spend a sentence or so on it, and if there's anything else I want to sneak in (what time of day it is, the lighting in the room, etc), I'll just keep weaving in bits as the scene goes on so it flows better. I'm also a fan of revealing the setting kind of secondarily while making the point of the sentence something else, like an action, so I'll put some examples of what I mean under the cut:
so this is the opening of a TKOF chapter and an example of a place where I've kind of folded the setting into something more exciting:
"Jughead was toweling off his hair, fresh out of what his trailer's abysmal water pressure rendered more a drizzle than a shower, when he heard the knock on the door.
He stiffened, arm suspended over his head. His eyes flicked to the reflection of his alarm clock in the mirror.
'1:47 AM' glowed back in a foreboding red.
Betty would've called. His dad was out of town for the weekend. None of the Serpents would've knocked that primly—there'd be yells if it was urgent or jeers if it wasn't. He swapped the towel in his hand for the baseball bat propped against his dresser and maneuvered his way to the door, taking care to move in the shadows."
so by the end of that you know he's at home in his trailer, it's late at night, the atmosphere is kind of tense, and the lighting is dark, but all of that is wrapped into an action (this mysterious knock) which makes it a little more dynamic, you know? I don't know if that makes any sense, but it's basically how I avoid a block of words that exists purely to describe a setting because I'm nowhere near interesting enough of a writer to make that engaging.
as for the other kind I'm describing where you have a bunch of dialogue followed by one dedicated setting sentence and then keep fleshing out the scene as you go, I have a few examples:
"Alright, so everyone's clear on the patrol schedule for the next few days?"
"Yep."
"Got it."
"Sweet Pea?"
"What?"
"You good on the schedule?"
"Why are you singling me out?"
"You know why."
"I was late like once!"
"You were late to this meeting."
"You're such a grinch, Topaz—where's your Christmas spirit?"
"About five seconds away from getting shoved up your ass."
"I could be into that."
"Be into punctuality instead."
"Lame."
"Byrdie, you're cool with covering transport for the weekend?"
"You know it."
"Great—Slash, Fangs, any questions about Sunday?"
"Nope."
"All set, T."
"Awesome, well, that's everything I had to go over. Jones?"
Jughead blinked, chin caught in the sling of his hands, dark stare dragging up from the spot it'd been fixed on for the past five minutes. A ring of faces stared back at him, uncertain and expectant, gathered around their token table at the White Wyrm for their weekly Serpents meeting, and Toni gave a tentative tilt of her head.
so you can see it takes forever to finally tell you where this is happening, but that quick little clause is enough context for a reader to start out with. a little later:
"Alright, you heard the man—meeting adjourned, get out of my face," she announced, waving a scattering hand at everyone. "Go enjoy the holidays."
The surrounding Serpents drew to their feet in a scuffle of chairs, breaking off into easy laughter and side conversations, the whimsical anticipation of Christmas Eve glittering like magic in the air, and Jughead's gaze slid right back to the same wall it'd been affixed to earlier.
now you know it's Christmas Eve. a few paragraphs down:
"He spun his bottle slowly against the table, the silence between them scored by the boozy din of the White Wyrm—billiard balls knocking into each other, raspy 60s protest rock, the velcro laugh of pack-a-day smokers."
so just adding a little more atmosphere - you can hear the room now, know it's an older crowd. then this way later:
"I still think it's worth looking into Penny Peabody," Toni ventured as if reading his mind, her musing voice luring him back to the smoky den of the White Wyrm. She took a swig of her beer as some scuffle over a bar tab kicked up in the background."
so now you know it's rowdy in there. later on I also have another character comment that all the Christmas decorations look cozy, so all this to say that you don't have to put a giant block of text telling the reader everything you want them to see in your space - it's okay to weave it in over time.
another example of this is the very first chapter, which I re-read the other day and realized I don't really set the scene until pretty far in. it starts like this:
"Ow."
"Sorry."
A silent beat.
"Ow."
"Jughead, you need to—"
"Ow!"
Veronica drew back with a sharp sigh, stare flicking ceilingward. "You need. To hold. Still."
"You need. To back. Off," Jughead countered, meeting her gaze with a harassed one of his own. He lifted a hand to swat away the needle hovering over his face and her brows snapped up in that cool, patronizing way of hers—the one that soundlessly carried a Hepburnian, 'Oh, do I?'
After a beat, she offered a simple shrug. "Okay."
He eyed her skeptically in the fluorescent light of the diner. It was never just 'okay' with Veronica. It was 'okay' and 'but also this is why you're going to do it my way'.
only a brief, indirect mention of the diner, which seems super thin/lazy but at that point is all I think you really need as a reader to be oriented. a few sentences later:
His jaw tightened a bit, stare averting a fraction to the window behind her. The inky nightscape of the Pop's parking lot was the same color as her eyes. He glanced at a neon pink sign for milkshakes instead, annoyed.
now you know it's nighttime.
a few paragraphs later:
"Some buried imagery, maybe? Metatextual acknowledgment of the fact that it's the middle of the night and I just finished a double shift and I don't actually have to do this for you?"
now you know it's really late. then even later:
"I—sorry," he offered after a beat, glancing down at his hands. He was sitting on a bar stool with the diner bar to his back, bent knees separating her upright frame from his. The position adjusted their comically lopsided heights so that for once, they were even. "What I meant was: can you please finish stitching me up?"
so now you know exactly where they are/how they're positioned relative to each other in the room. and personally I don't think it takes anything away by waiting till a beat that felt natural to sneak that in as opposed to doing it immediately.
now when I do have a specific setting that requires a little more detailed/traditional of a description, I usually try to give it an angle, like someone's seeing it for the first time and coming to a conclusion about it and all the details they're describing further their point. this is from another fic I wrote where a character walks into a lunatic neighbor's Christmas party and is totally shocked by how cozy it is:
"To be honest, Damon had expected pretty much anything from Kai's apartment.
Shaved baby doll heads on the walls. An exotic bird emporium. Furniture made out of human bones. A framed collage of Missing Children ads. An entire room of blinking furbies. Aliens. Dinosaurs. Whatever. What he hadn't expected was to walk into a friggin' HGTV Christmas special.
The place was decked the fuck out. Garland hung all over the living room, gold and glittering, accented with large, loopy red bows. A roaring fire was burning behind a string of brightly colored stockings, casting a warm glow over all the wool throws and cozy holiday pillows. A giant tree twinkled by the snowy bay window. Mistletoe winked from the doorways. Frank Sinatra was crooning about having a merry little Christmas.
And somehow, it was a hundred times more unsettling than the shaved baby doll heads would've been."
so rather than just saying he walked in and that's what he saw, it's framed by him being totally thrown by his surroundings, which makes all the details more intentional since they are fleshing out why he's thrown, nah mean?
SO ALL OF THIS TO SAY, I'm far from an expert on any of this but if I had to try and conceptualize my process, I guess this is it? for what it's worth? again, exposition/scenery is not my strength so take this with a grain of salt 😬 thanks for asking, though!

Medium
Summary:Jughead Jones/reader. Reader goes with Jughead to a medium, and finds out she has the same gift, Jughead doesn’t believe it, and meeting up with an old friend of yours makes him reconsider
”So what’s this super special date we just have to do on Halloween, that we can’t do on any other day?” You grin a little at Jughead who just beams back at you.
“It’s something you’ve always wanted to do.” He grins and nods expecting you to guess.
“I’m not guessing.”
“Mhmm, I knew you’d say that, so..” He laughs a little when you gasp, he swings his hands out gesturing to the wooden sign that reads psychic and medium in blocky letters.
”I sense a great deal of pain in your past, very dark energies.”
“Mhm..” You nod leaning forward and ignore Jughead’s scoff.
“Possible cult involvement.” She grins and Jughead glares
“She can clearly read the newspaper.”
You playfully roll your eyes and hush Jughead, turning back to the medium and nodding so she continues.
She’s going on about your future, about marriage and children. You ask how many kids, curious if she’ll give you the number you always think about, she says four, Jughead just laughs when she says it’s closer than you think. You grin back at her then chew your lip, trying to make a joke when you comment to Jughead about his dad knocking up Betty’s mom when they were teenagers. Jughead glares a little, mumbling under his breath you shouldn’t give her more ammunition.
-She grabs your hand face inching closer to yours, her voice barely a whisper.
“You’re like me Y/N, able to speak to them, be careful, Samhain is when these spirits will try to speak to you.” Jughead rolls his eyes when you tell him what she told you.
“Samhain isn’t some witchy mystic shit Y/N, it’s just a celebration for harvest time. No spirits are able to talk at all, least of all to her or you. It’s a load of shit and a scam for her to make money, I bet she told you she could do sessions with you so you’d learn to control your ability?”
“Well no, she didn’t say anything to me about it actually..” You frown a little looking back in the direction of the shop.
“Do you want to get pop’s?”
“I’d love that.” You grin at him, the warning the medium had given you plays in the back of your mind, but your stomach growls interrupting your train of thought.
You’re almost finished your shake when a figure standing outside catches your eyes.
“Hey Jug I’m gonna say hi to my friend, I’ll be outside yeah?”
“Cool, I’ll settle up here.”
“Oh man I haven’t seen you in forever!!!”
“Haha same goes Y/N.” You grin at your old friend, his smile still lopsided.
“Much change you living in this shit small town?”
” Seriously Jones, it’s something fun that Y/N loves, why bother her about it so much?” You nod along with your friend and he grins, sticking his tongue out at Jughead who just ignores him.
“Y/N, come on we need to get home it’s freezing out here.”
“Yeah okay, fine, bye Lance.” You wave as Lance nods and walks off, vanishing into the barely lit street.
“Lance?”
“Mhm, my friend Lance who you were ignoring this entire time.” Jughead just glances around clearly looking for something, he’s found it, his face going pale when he turns back to you.
“Lance Braun?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Y/N, he died. Here, a car wreck when his bike turned a corner too fast...He hit Toni and… He died Y/N…”
“No he didn't, I was just talking to… him….” You turn back to the empty street, even the lights have gone out.

Her entire body flinched when the door had slammed open. It hit the wall so hard that it shook the thin walls of the trailer, and probably left a dent in the wall where the door handle had impacted first. Y/N's eyes immediately shot over to watch as Jughead slammed the door behind him again, and didn't even spare her a glance as he stalked through the trailer towards the bathroom.
"Jug?" She asked, clearly concerned as she stood up to follow him. "Hey, what happened?" She asked when he hadn't responded.
"Nothing." He responded through gritted teeth, his body tensing up.
Before he could walk into the bathroom she reached out to grab a fistful of his leather sleeve, trying to stop him. "Baby talk to me, what happened?"
"Nothing, will you just wait out there?"
Y/N almost flinched when he had turned back to look at her with such an angry expression. He had never once looked at her like that, and it truthfully scared her. He looked almost... murderous. She opened her mouth to say something else, wanting to know what possibly could have happened to get him in such a state, though she froze when she caught sight of his hands. They were covered in blood. When she looked closer she could see the crimson liquid also was staining his shirt, and it was enough to make her feel nauseated. Though the thing that scared her the most was that she could tell it wasn't his.
It was someone else's.
"Jug?" She whispered, reaching for his hand, only to have him pull it away immediately. "What happened."
He hesitated again. She watched as his eyebrows furrowed and a small crease formed in between them, a frown curving his lips downwards. His posture remained stiff as he took in a deep breath, before just closing his eyes as he shook his head. "We took care of Penny."
If she had felt sick before, she felt one-hundred times worse after he had said that. He took care of Penny... as in he killed her? Her eyes scanned over the blood again and she held her breath as the possibility of him having actually killed someone ran through her mind.
Could he?
"You didn't... she's not..."
"No." Jughead opened his eyes to look at her again. "No, we didn't kill her. You really think I'd do that?" He snapped, and her eyes widened at the harshness in his tone again.
Jughead saw this and just sighed, his eyes closing again as his lips formed a thin line. “Sorry.” His voice broke, as did the shell of his non-affected persona. She could see then how scared he was, how guilty he was; and it broke her heart.
Y/N swallowed harshly and hesitated before she took his hand. Thankfully the blood had dried over his hands, because she would have been sick if it was still warm and wet. “Let’s get you cleaned up, okay? Then we can talk if you want.” She forced a small smile in his direction, and watched as he nodded his head, though his eyes still didn’t meet hers.
Her hand dropped his as she opened the bathroom door and she stepped inside, letting him follow her inside as she started running a warm sink of water and wet one of the two washcloths that were there. Jughead kept silent as he sat on the closed lid of the toilet, one of his legs bouncing uncontrollably - something he did when he was stressed.
Nothing was said as she took the wet wash cloth and stood in between his legs as she started getting the blood off of his hands, still feeling nauseated. This was Jughead. Her childhood best friend. The boy who was so kind and sweet, now part of a gang and hurting people.
“Are you scared of me?” Jughead broke the silence with a quiet question and his serious gaze piercing into hers.
“No.” She told him truthfully, letting his left hand go once it was clean before she wet the washcloth again to start cleaning up his right hand. “I’m just worried.”
“I’m sorry.” Jughead whispered, his expression a light scowl as his gaze returned to his hands again.
“What did you even do?” Y/N whispered, and didn’t miss the way his jaw clenched at the question. The silence brewed for another moment, though once it was clear that she seriously wanted to know he sighed and closed his eyes.
“Me and some of the Serpents took Penny to the outside of Greendale,” Jughead started, his leg bouncing again. “We threw her to the floor, told her never to come back here, and...” His voice wavered a little and he had to pause as he took in a deep breath. “And I got Sweet Pea and Toni to hold her still as I cut her Serpent tattoo off of her arm.”
Y/N almost didn’t believe him. She wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for the almost haunted expression he wore over his face. But she didn’t want to believe him. She didn’t want to believe her boyfriend was capable of throwing somebody in a ditch and cutting a part of their arm off, though clearly he was.
“Are you scared of me now?” He whispered as she had kept silent for a long moment.
Y/N shook her head again. Scared wasn’t the right word, she knew he could never hurt her. She was more just utterly concerned. “Why would you cut her?” She whispered, her eyebrows furrowing as she locked her gaze with his again.
“We had no other choice.” Jughead shook his head. “You know what she was doing, what she would have done if she was there for any longer. We had to get rid of her.”
“You didn’t have to cut her.”
“Don’t you think I know that!” His yell bounced off of the thin walls of the small bathroom, and she couldn’t help but flinch in surprise, her eyes widening. Jughead looked at her for a moment, guilt crossing his expression, before he sighed and put his head in his hands. “I know. I fucked up. I shouldn’t have cut her. I shouldn’t have thrown her in a ditch and yelled at her. We could have gotten her out a better way. But we didn’t, and we fucked it up.” His hand moved through his hair and tugged on it stressfully. Only when he looked up at her again did she the tears that were glazing over his blue eyes like freshly cut glass.
Y/N frowned and opened her arms for him, to which he leaned into and moved his arms around her waist. His head leaned against his chest and his hands gripped her shirt as his shoulders started shaking with the cries that left him. She held onto him tightly as he cried and pressed a kiss against his head, not letting go of him as he cried. They were like that for maybe ten minutes until Jughead sighed, now silent as he pulled out of her embrace to look up at her.
“I’m terrified.” He admitted in a whisper. “That she’ll come back and continue dragging my dad down. Or me down. Or the rest of the fucking Serpents.”
“You don’t know if she’s coming back.” She whispered and cupped his face in her hands - running the pads of her thumbs underneath his eyes to rid him of the freshly-shed tears that moved down his cheeks. “And if she does then we’ll deal with it when it comes up, okay?”
Jughead just nodded, his shoulders slumping as he leaned forwards to lean his head against her chest again. Her eyes closed as she held onto him, not able to help the tears building in her own eyes as she looked down at him, her boyfriend.
Though now it was like he was a completely different person. And that scared her more than anything else.

Mother Dearest
Part Two
Pairing: FP Jones x Female!Reader
Warnings: None, afab reader
Words: 958
Summery: Mama Jones meets Betty
Previous | Next
Tumblr media
The next couple of days were spent in bliss. While you hated living in a trailer, it was home. Your family was home. You made sure Jug and JB were going to school, especially after getting Jellybean enrolled in school in Riverdale. You had officially moved back home.
You even got your old job back while FP was working with Fred at Andrews Construction. You got back into the habit of helping Jug with his writing.
One day, when you picked up JB from school you went ahead and headed to the high school to pick up Jughead. You stood in front of the school, leaning against the truck with JB sitting in the passenger seat playing with her Nintendo DS.
As you stood there, you kept getting glances from other students as school was let out. You had your hands in your pockets of your jeans as you crossed your legs with Timberlands on your feet. A flannel was over an old band t-shirt, which you were sure was your husbands from when you first started going out. You also had a jean jacket over that to keep you warm.
You then saw Jughead step out of the school with a pretty blonde girl, a raven haired girl, and a red headed boy. You were pretty sure that was Betty and Archie. Betty you vaguely remember from a couple times she played with the boys when they were younger. You and her mother, Alice, did not get along. Alice was ex-serpent which didn’t settle well with you as you had been a serpent since around the same time as FP. You didn’t trust her after she refused to acknowledge the fact that she came from the Southside.
While you were proud of the fact that you were a Serpent.
“Mrs. Jones!” Archie yelled loudly as he rushed to hug you. You laughed as you hugged him back. You always saw him as a second son and he always saw you as a second mother. You were always supportive of anything the kids did.
“Archie! You’ve gotten taller since I last saw you.” You told him as you let him go and patted his shoulder.
“That’s what happens when you get older.” He sassed with a grin on his lips.
You smiled and smacked him on the back of the head, making it jerk forward and him to scrunch his face up in a grimace. You always hit hard.
You then looked over at Jughead and saw him with his arm around Betty’s waist. You raised an eyebrow and Jug rushed to introduce the two girls. “Mom, I don’t know if you remember Betty, but this is Betty Cooper. My girlfriend.” He said kinda slowly as if he didn’t want you to know. “And this is Veronica Lodge.” He introduced the Hispanic girl on the other side of him.
“Hi, Mrs. Jones.” Betty said with a smile on her face. You smiled back and shook her hand that she held out.
“Hi, Betty. Yeah, I remember you. You sometimes played with the boys when you guys were younger. You guys can just call me Y/N. I don’t mind.” You turned to Archie. “I think I’ve told you multiple times.” He shrugged with a innocent smile. You laughed.
“Jughead, you didn’t tell me your mom was a badass.” Veronica said as she reached out her hand to shake.
You smirked and narrowed your eyes at her playfully. “Well that’s because she’s my mom. Although she has been my role model since I was maybe 5.” Jug said with a tone of sarcasm at the begin. “Not that I don’t love seeing you Mom. What are you doing here?”
You grinned. “You want a ride home, Jug?” You asked.
He made an ‘oh’ face as he threw his arm around Betty’s shoulders. “I was gonna walk Betty home.”
You smiled. “I can drive you both. Come on.” You then turned to the other two as Betty and Jug headed to the truck.
I think Betty was trying to be quiet but I heard her as she whispered to Jughead. “She is so much easier to talk to than your dad.” He chuckled.
“You two good?” You asked the other two high schoolers. Wanting to make sure they got home safe.
Veronica answered first. “Yeah, I’m at the Pembroke and it isn’t that far. Bye guys.” She then made her way in the direction of the Pembroke. You then turned to Archie.
“You good, kid?” You asked him.
“Yeah, dad should -” He was cut off as someone spoke up from behind you.
“Y/N?” You both turned around and saw Fred standing there.
“Hey, Fred!” You smiled. You missed your best friend. You had been friends with Fred and FP since you were all kids.
“Hey, dad.” Archie said as he walked over his dad. Fred patted his shoulder as he glanced at Archie before looking back at you. You smiled as you shoved your hands in your pockets of your jacket.
“Y/N. You’re back.” Fred smiled big at you.
“Yeah, hopefully for good.” You told him. He went to say something else but JB decided it would be a good time to honk the truck horn loudly.
Archie and Fred jumped at the loud sound while you set your face in a grimace of agitation.
“MA!!!! HURRY UP!”
You turned around with raised eyebrows. “Forsythia Penelope Jones!” You said sternly.
She shrunk down back into her seat as Jug laughed at her.
You sighed as you turned back to Fred and Archie who were chuckling.
“Well, I guess I’ll see you guys later.” You turned to the truck and went to the driver’s side with a wave over your shoulder.

"Y/N, don't be ridiculous." Jughead said.
"I'm not. Archie? Doesn't Jughead look exactly like the Creature in Lisa Frankenstein?" Y/N asked.
"You saw that without me?" Jughead asked.
"To be fair, Jug. We did invite you, but you and Betty.... well, let's just say you guys were indisposed." Archie smiled.

SENSE OF HOME, BOTH SWEET AND SALTY
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
fem!reader x cheryl blossom x son!oc
summary; when invited to see your girlfriend cheerlead at the championship game vs stonewall prep, a hellish face gets your attention which leads to a series of events to follow. both bad and good.
part one,
warnings; fluff, angst
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
You didn’t know you could’ve gotten any luckier. Your life was seemingly perfect at the moment—too perfect. One example is your girlfriend becoming more involved with Cris and his life. She chose to pick him up from school when you couldn’t make it from all the after school activities you decided to sign up for. With Senior Year quickly coming to a close, you had to make sure your transcript for college had as much stuff in it that Cheryl did. If you wanted to have the opportunity to support your family, fully without the help of your father or Cheryl, you needed to get a good education.
Cris absolutely adored Cheryl. He adored her so much that he had already started calling her parental names. The array of Mama, and Mom flying around left and right. And every time the name is directed at her, her face immediately glows with a smile. She even cried one time.
Things had been going great—better than great. You and your girlfriend were on cloud 9 together, switching between which house to sleepover at. Cris obviously slept between the two of you and Cheryl wouldn’t have it any other way. It was a heartwarming sight to see. You finally had a family, even if it wasn’t “traditional”.
Cheryl made it her mission to make sure the boy felt safe and comfortable in her presence and around Thistlehouse. If that meant that she needed to get rid of a few paintings that were passed down through the Blossom bloodline—so be it.
“Remember when you see Cheryl, you give her a big hug.” Cris nodded his head with a smile, “I love Mamas hugs! She makes sure to squeeze the life out of me.”
You shook your head and laughed, “You should tell her that, it’ll make her smile.” Cris proceeded to pull you over towards the bleacher stairs with no struggle. The two of you found seats near the front, giving Cris enough room to jump up and down when he gets a sudden energy surge he usually got. Especially with the hype and cheering coming from students of Riverdale High and Stonewall Prep.
“Well if it isn’t Prince Cristiano and Miss Y/N.” A familiar voice came from beside you and your energetic son. Your good friends, Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones sat beside you, Cris eloping them into a warm hug. “I thought you couldn’t come to the game?”
You sighed, “Cris has been extremely hyper lately. I thought some fresh air would do the trick to tire him out. It’s a plus that everyone is here.” You flashed a small smile towards your two friends.
Jughead chuckled as Cris repeatedly gave him high-fives, “He’s like a ball of star energy.”
You laughed and shook your head, “I wish it was just that,” Betty tilted her head towards you, a supportive hand placed on your forearm. “He hit one of his classmates last week for stealing his red crayon while making a portrait of me, him and Cher.”
“His teacher suggested he should get tested for ADHD, but doctor visits are extremely expensive for a high school student that takes a shift at Pop’s. Cheryl continues to tell me she’ll happily pay for it but, I just don’t want handouts—she’s been paying for his normal check-ups since she met him.” You took a quick breath, “Whatever, I’ll find a way.”
Betty gently squeezed your arm before retracting it when a breeze hit, “Well if you need anything, we’re here for you.”
Jughead nodded from beside his girlfriend, “Even if I’m at Stonewall right now, I’ll happily take babysitting hours. It’s a good break from the Stonies.” You smiled at the couple and nodded, “Thanks guys, I appreciate it.”
A whistle was blown, the River Vixens waving their pom-poms and coming onto the field with smiles and chants—their recently hired cheerleading coach no where in sight. Cheryl scanned the crowd like she usually would, the expectation of her girlfriend and her girlfriends son wasn’t extremely high, considering the two of you talked on the phone and you told her there most likely wasn’t a possibility of making it. But the glimpse of a boy jumping up and down waving made her smile, immediately waving back.
She blew a kiss to you, who waved brightly. Cheryl winked and turned to her Vixens with clasped hands. The cheerleaders got into formation, the song ‘Cherry Bomb’ playing on the loud speakers around them. You watched as Cheryl and your best friends, Veronica and Toni dance around with smiles and sass. Cris jumping up and down and dancing freely.
The football team ran onto the field with their helmets covering their faces and heads. The game had quickly begun with the burning thought that the guy with #13 plastered on his back looked oddly familiar with the piercing brown eyes.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Cris happily jumped into the arms of your girlfriend, “Mama! You did so good!” It was the end of the game and sadly the Stonewall Prep Scallions took the win at the last moment, Riverdale High’s star player being injured at the last seconds of the game. Cheryl smiled at the parental name she was officially given. Her heart swelling immediately. “Hi, baby, I’m glad you came!” She smiled and kissed the crown of his head, swinging him back and forth with the hug.
You cleared your throat making Cheryl look towards you. “Well, hello, my love.” She let go of the raven-haired boy and brought you in for a chaste kiss. “I thought you weren’t coming?”
You sighed, “He was energetic after you left. I figured we could enjoy fresh air and see you do your thing.” Cheryl nodded with a smile and a small chuckle, Cris leaning into her side. You furrowed your eyebrows, “Where’s the new cheerleading coach?”
Cheryl smirked, “Oh, she’s been . . . disposed.”
You shook your head and brought her in for a hug. “You did good out there, Blossom. Y’know with the hands and the skirt rising? I wonder where they came from . . .” You rose a playful eyebrow. Cheryl laughed and interlocked your hands with hers. “They’ve been recently locked away, I suppose. However, I am glad you were here to see them.”
You hummed with a small laugh, “Believe me, I enjoyed it.” Cheryl pulled you in once more for a small kiss, this time lasting an ounce longer but was interrupted by a deep voice calling for your name.
“Y/N.” Someone called from behind the two of you. A small groan of interruption falling from Cheryls painted lips. “Can we talk?”
You turned around at the question with furrowed eyebrows.
David Santos in all his hell-ish glory.
His hair was pitch black and wet from a celebratory water bottle being poured in his head. A small gash through his eyebrow from being tackled by Archie Andrews himself. His brown eyes transferred exactly to his son. He was tall—so damn tall.
Cheryl looked at the man and then at her girlfriend then down to the boy who clung to her side, waiting to go home. Cris was the spitting image of you and David combined.
The boy had David’s hair color, his eyes and skin tone while you gave him your eyebrows, lips, cheekbones and jaw line.
You cleared your throat, the father of your child standing before you, “David, there’s nothing to talk about.” You turned around and grabbed ahold of Cris’s hand, Cheryl turning with you to walk the other way. A hand turning you back around by your forearm.
“David—”
“Is this him . . .” He gulped, looking down at the confused child hiding beside Cheryl and yours legs. “Is this my son?”
“Who’s else’s would it be, you imbecile.” Cheryl rolled her eyes, her arms crossed with a protective stance. David furrowed his eyebrows and looked towards you who sighed and nodded.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
You scoffed and furrowed your eyebrows, “I did tell you, David.” The image of the three pregnancy tests you took and showed him engraved in your brain. So was the thought of him telling you he wanted nothing to do with it. “You said you didn’t want anything to do with me or him. Even after that I gave you a chance.” You dryly chuckled, “I even invited you to family events with my Dad! I defended your ass even when everyone said you would be a deadbeat father who would care less about me or our son.” You angrily made your way over to him, harshly pointing a finger to his chest. “I waited for you in that hospital bed and you never came.”
“Mama, why is Ma angry?” Cris quietly asked a focused Cheryl by pulling on her Vixens skirt. The redhead looked down at the boy but before she could answer David scoffed, “So, Blossom gets to be a parent figure but the person who actually created him can’t even see him?”
“David, please.” You dragged a hand down your face, “You haven’t been present since his birth. You ran away to Stonewall Prep, for heavens sake. Cheryl has been there for him—for us—way longer than you have. And, again, you made that decision to be a bad father. I gave you plenty of opportunities to redeem yourself.”
“But—”
“David.”
“Can I at least say hi?” David sighed, glancing at the raven haired boy with spitting imagery of himself. You held stern eye contact before sighing and looking behind you at Cheryl then at your son. “Cris, baby, come here for a second.”
He walked over to you, picking him up in your arms. You pressed a small kiss on his cheek before sighing, “Cris, this is David . . . your Dad.”
Cris furrowed his eyebrows. He was young, yes. But he knew the small stories of his father and even in his young mind, David was never the person who fit the parental figure. When he thought of a parental figure it newly morphed into the image of the redhead behind them. “No you’re not.”
“Cris—”
“No, Mama is right there.” He turned in your arms and pointed to Cheryl who couldn’t help the small laugh behind her hand escape her lips. “I don’t know you.” He pointed to the football player in front of them.
“David, I’m sorry—”
“No, no.” He shook his head, sadness written on his face. “It’s, uh, it’s fine. I . . . understand, y’know. I wasn’t there and I get that.”
“Look,” You sighed, knowing you might regret the offer you were about to give him. “if you want to come around and try—”
“No,” He declined, “I’m fine.”
“David, I’m giving you a final chance here. I’m giving you a chance so you won’t go home to your cozy dorm room in tears because your own son doesn’t know who you are. Okay? So, take it.” You said sternly. “. . . You can come have dinner with us three tomorrow night. If you don’t show up then I will know your decision about where you want to stand in your sons life.”
You didn’t let him answer before turning around and headed towards the car. Cheryl quickly running towards your side with a hand slipped around your waist. Leaving a thought filled football player in the dust of Riverdale High. “Let’s go home, shall we.”
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
You cozied up on the comfortable bed of Cheryl Blossom that had quickly turned into your bed as well. The covers were poured over the three of you. Cris was fast asleep between the two of you, Cheryl’s hands rubbing the boys arm in a parental manner, ushering him to fall into a deep sleep—which he quickly fell into.
You glanced towards your girlfriend in the dark lighting of the room. Your vision shifting back to your sleeping son. “On Cris’ birth certificate, where the fathers signature should be . . . it’s blank.”
The redhead glanced over at you while you tilted her head towards her. “And, the papers in my bag also just need a signature. You can obviously say no, considering it’s a big decision and bigger responsibilities. But,” You looked down at your sleeping son who was cuddled between you too. His small arm hung around Cheryls covered stomach, while his face leaned against her as well. “Cris already calls you Mama. He sees you as a parental figure and thinks about your hugs daily.”
“And, again, you obviously don’t have too—” You were quickly interrupted by the redheads lips on yours in a short, passionate kiss. The two of you being mindful of the sleeping child between the two of you.
“Where do I sign?”
So with grace—and a smile, you wrapped Cris around Cheryls figure to slowly leave the bed without waking the sleeping child. You came back with papers leaning against a school textbook you found in your book bag, a pen in hand. You watched with a smile and glossy eyes as Cheryl clicked the pen and signed her name on the adoption papers.
CHERYL BLOSSOM
“You, Cheryl Blossom, officially have a son.” You smiled, a glossy tear slipping down your cheek that the redhead wiped away. She smiled, happy tears threatening to slip down her cheeks as well.
“I love you,” She smiled, placing a short kiss on your lips. “and, you.” She kissed the crown of her sons head who was now completely on her stomach in a bear hug, sleeping.
So that night, when Cheryl was smiling up at her ceiling, with you curled into her sleeping, she glanced over to her future fiancé and son with smiles. She realized that even through all the hell they’ve been through so far, a sense of home wasn’t just a place of comfort but also people.
She realized her girlfriend and son were her home, and she would be damned if she let anyone take that away from her.

imagine ~ *✰*~
Wind blows against your face as you pace down the street. It’s 1am, and everywhere is empty except the bars that scream with drunks and music. Your tears from your fight with them last night have long dried, but you don’t want to go back. You keep walking, focused to clear your head, when you notice a shadow illuminated by the streetlights. You try not to panic, but you keep watching as it gradually gets close. You can almost feel the hot breath against your neck as a voice calls out to you. A man grabs your shoulder with a drunken smirk and tries to pull you closer to him.
“Hey, what’s a pretty thing like you doing out all alone? Cmon, I’ll show you a real good time..” He’s slurring his words as you pry his hand off you and try to keep walking, but he grabs you again, harder this time. He isn’t smiling anymore. Cursing under his breath, he pulls you in again but before he can even start another sentence, a hand punch knocks him into the concrete. You look up to see them flexing their hand, knuckles red. Without a word, they pull you close to them and run their hands through your hair. “Are we gonna do anything about him?” You whisper, staring at the unconscious man on the ground.  “I could finish the job?” They grin, before meeting your eye and shrugging. “He got what he deserved. Let’s just go home, hm?”
With a sigh and a smile, you take their hand in yours and leave.

Ftm!Jughead Jones x male!reader
This is set in season 5, when theyre adults:)
NSFW!!
This font: Jughead
This font: M/N (male name)
Jughead was never really into guys.I mean- he once admitted to Betty in high school years that hes realised that hes bisexual. He was working at pops, as a waiter. He and his old friends are trying to make Riverdale alive again, and he barely had any money, so he had to work as a waiter AND a teacher. As you walked in he sighed, while greeting you and giving you a menu. You ordered and while he was taking your order he realised how cute you were.Your voice, your hair, your eyes, your nose, your lips...He found them perfect.Even hot, actually."Hey- arent you the guy who wrote that book?I think its name was-" "the outcasts?Yeah thats me." He finished your sentence. He smiled at you softly, too.He liked you even more now. "hey- mind if i sit down with you while you eat?I doubt any customers will come in." "No, actually, i dont.Feel free." "Thanks-...." "M/N." "Right, M/N....Hey, another question...You wanna come to mine after my shift? Its almost over." Jughead asked with a bit of hidden excitement and horniness in his voice."yeah, sure." God, Jughead was so happy, that someone actually agreed to come to his house. He hasnt felt like this since- Betty....But he didnt want to think about that, all he wanted to think about was you at the moment. "Alright then, its a date." Soon Jugheads shift ended.Since there wasnt much people at the diner at this hour, you two were just talking most of the time. You waited till he got his stuff and the two of you left. You and Jug made your way to his house. You took your jacket/hoodie off (if you were wearing one) and looked around. You knew he wants to hook up.I mean, why would someone randomly invite you to their house while they dont even know you?Oh, and how right you were about that hook up.He pinned you to the wall and immediatly started making out with you.I mean, hes pretty needy after such long time with barely any action.Even tho he hasnt done this shit for a while, he was still good at it.You took his shirt off, along with yours. He pulled your and his pants off, and continued kissing you.He found you very hot, and he just couldnt seem to get you off his mind.He put you down on the bed and switched places. You were now on top of him and he was now under you.He took his and your boxers off and you inserted two fingers into him and as your fingers went in and out, you curled them up.You knew how that would make him feel. When you got the sign that you can go in, you very certainly did.He let out the sluttiest fucking moan you have ever heard. You kept going, making him yelp and moan."mh- 'm gonna cum-" he whimpered, and came. You continued fucking into him, and clearly wanting to cum inside. He also made it clear that you can.Your thrusting sped up and it slowly got slow and sloppy as you came inside the boy.You plopped down next to him and kissed him.You two covered yourselves with the blanket, and fell asleep.
-END OF ONESHOT-
