#Missing black child

The last couple of days have seen multiple full blown fascist riots in the UK and we're likely to see more over the weekend.

On Monday there was a horrific incident where a 17 year old attacked a dance school in Southport, killing three children and injuring many more. Because of the attacker's age his name has not been released, however the far right quickly started circulating a made up name and said the attacker was Muslim and an immigrant.

On Tuesday, when a vigil was being held in the town for the victims, fascists travelled to Southport and started a riot, centering around attacking a mosque. I really don't have words for how disgusting it is to use the death of children to further their violently racist agenda and take all of this out on a grieving town.

Following this there were multiple fascist riots on Wednesday, the largest of which being in London and Hartlepool. These involved further attacks on mosques, surrounding hotels where asylum seekers were being housed, and attacking brown and black people on the street and in their homes.

There are plans by the far right to hold multiple further rallies over the next few days, I've seen particular mention of Liverpool tomorrow (Friday) and Middlesbrough on Sunday, but I think it's likely we'll see violence across the UK.

There is also a huge demo for Palestine organised for Saturday which involves action across the country and with a march in London, and quite frankly I will be shocked if the fash don't try to disrupt that in any way, so just be prepared that there is a heightened risk of violence.

Overall in response to the riots there's been a lot of talk about the spread of misinformation and how that needs to be tackled, and while this is true it doesn't address the fact that the majority of these fascists really don't care. Even if the attacker had been Muslim or had been an immigrant, that doesn't give anyone the right to try and attack every Muslim and immigrant in the country. This couldn't have and hasn't been stopped by correcting a bit of misinformation, this is about decades of deeply racist islamophobic and anti-immigrant rhetoric baked into the core of the UK and reinforced constantly by the media and politicians across the spectrum as ""legitimate concerns"".

Right now we need community support more than ever. Organise, protect your local Muslim communities, and of course stay safe.

Edit: while I was writing this post the name of the attacker was released as Axel Rudakubana. As I have already said the fash do not care, and islamaphobic and anti-immigrant violence will almost definitely continue, however there will now likely also be an increase in anti-black violence and we need to be prepared for that.

so we’ve all seen the ‘why would you do it’ jegulus posts where regulus gets the mark and james is sad/mad and it’s devastating so let me give you a jegulily spin on it.

regulus is forced to take the mark and he goes to james first but because he’s so scared of james’ reaction and still in shock from actually getting the mark he can’t really explain himself and so james gets the wrong idea and he gets mad and storms off.

so then regulus goes to lily who he now believes will have a similar or even more severe reaction when he tells her. he begs her through his tears to believe that he didn’t have a choice, much like he did with james. lily, who has seen petunia resign herself to do whatever their parents ask her to in a desperate effort to get them to notice her recognises regulus’ sorrow and where she couldn’t console her sister she holds her boyfriend while he sobs. she reassures him that she believe him and she doesn’t hate him for this because he only did what he had to.

62 - Unfinished

You begin as a faint outline, gentle strokes traced upon ghostly white. A familiar face taking shape amid a fluffy blizzard, and a smile that exists just for me.

I'll dress you up in your favourite colours - a dash of pink here, a cascade of green there. But let me leave a space where your heart will go, and I'll fill it with nothing but boundless light and love.

Your horns shall gleam red to match my own, but these ones can't be taken off before bedtime. You are fully your own creature, and shall stand proudly among your friends. All who see you shall adore you, my prince - for you there shall be no misery.

I've coloured you in so much that the green's been worn to nothing. Your flourescence shall light my way in dark times, a beacon of joy and comfort that I'll always follow home.

And now for your heart - but oh! The lesson is at an end, and you've been taken away by hands bigger than mine. I cannot call your name before you're put away with all the other drawings, lost and afraid with a black space where your soul should be.

I cry for you on the way home. I feel a piece of myself is missing, the life and love I poured into you wasted and discarded. Mom says you'll be hung up on the classroom wall tomorrow, but I don't know if I believe her or not.

I hope I'll see you again soon - perhaps then I can finally give you the heart you always deserved.

I recently started ballet again after many years of not dancing and it made me feel so freaking happy.

I encourage you to think about what your inner child used to and / or wants to do and just do it! Make a way and make the time. This is for YOU. No one else.

It was honestly very healing for me to be in a class again after so long of so badly wanting to start up again.

My inner child felt free and happy.

Sit and think about activities you can do to nurture your inner child and do it. Your inner child will thank you.

now that i’m free from the chokehold dd2 had me in and able to play other games, i am halfway through the little one that i’m enjoying most (child of light) playing too many others and considering switch deals and games i got via switch deals months ago and never started and i’m so overwhelmed i might just allow dd2 to take me again.
