i don’t mind suspending my disbelief for leverage’s person-sized ventilation shafts bc that’s pretty standard for the genre, but that doesn’t mean i won’t laugh a bit at some of the egregiously large vents. particularly in the crowning acheivement job (lev: red s2 finale) because - well just look at this lol! harry and parker, two adults, can kneel side by side in those vents. parker can sit upright.

that museum was made for vent crawling purposes. that’s just an extra room in the museum they forgot to decorate. the leverageverse has a thief union that successfully lobbied for a better working environment. these vents double as a playground for museum-goers’ children. i was crying with laughter thinking about this and harry’s vent crisis was NOT helping me remember that there was a serious heist thing going on lol, i love this show.

Do you consider Ruggie to be a vice housewarden? Personally, I do but I wanted to know what you thought!

Personally, I don't consider Ruggie to be a vice dorm leader. (Ruggie doesn't view himself as a vice dorm leader or even as Savanaclaw's second-in-command either! He just refers to Leona as the boss and everyone else, including himself, as a grunt.)

I understand why some people do see Ruggie as a vice dorm leader though. After all, the guy's often seen supporting Leona in various ways. In Jack's Dorm Uniform vignettes, Jack states that "[Ruggie helps] the housewarden/dorm leader with everything, above board or below. So [Ruggie's] basically our number two."

And indeed, it is true!! Ruggie does a TON for Leona. This includes, but is not limited to: doing role call for their group (Vargas Camp) doing his laundry (Ruggie Labwear vignettes), repairing his clothes (Leona School Uniform vignette), fetching his food (Jamil School Uniform vignette, book 2), shopping for his new outfits + accessories (Vargas Camp), serving as his spy (Beans Day, but there are many other instances, like Blazing Jewel), and (of course) waking him up and reminding him to turn in his assignments for class (too frequent to name specific instances).

It's also very telling that Leona willingly relinquishes control and oversight of Savanaclaw--his dorm, essentially his kingdom--to Ruggie right before the Ferrymen haul Leona off. He trusts Ruggie enough to "be in charge of Savanaclaw 'til [he gets] back", which is very similar to how dorm leaders sometimes have vice dorm leaders fill in for them in their absence--something which occurs quite often with Malleus and Lilia, as Lilia often subs in for Malleus at ceremonies and meetings.

There was even a mistranslation in Jack's Beans Camo vignettes in which Azul mistakes Ruggie as Savanaclaw's dorm leader. In the original JP text, Azul says, “同じ寮の後輩でしょう”, which more closely translates to “he’s (Jack’s) an underclassman/junior in your (Ruggie’s) dorm!” He uses 後輩 here, which is kouhai, NOT 寮長 (ryocho), which is dorm leader/dormitory manager.

Now, the reason why I don't personally view Ruggie as a vice dorm leader is that while he does do a lot for Leona, these are not really... dorm leader-esque responsibilities??? They're more like regular occurrences or chores, so Ruggie comes off less as someone of close standing to Leona and more like he's just an errand boy. None of the actual vice dorm leaders tend to their dorm leaders this closely (with the exception of Jamil, on account of being Kalim's actual servant).

Vice dorm leaders have certain other duties that they fulfill. For example, they stand in for dorm leaders when they cannot attend important functions (like ceremonies or meetings, as I said before). They also assist with important dorm-related decisions, like picking out their Halloween costume each year and granting permissions to loan out parts of their dormitory for events. (For more information on the powers and responsibilities of dorm leaders and vice dorm leaders, see this post!)

Thing is, I never see Ruggie doing any of those things. It's always Leona and Leona alone attending meetings and making big decisions, even though he theoretically could sit out and let Ruggie handle it while he naps. Perhaps this is because Leona is arrogant and wants to project the image of him and ONLY him being in charge, but the fact remains that Ruggie isn't really depicted doing vice dorm leader-level work, just everyday menial labor. Leona trusting Ruggie with Savanaclaw in book 6 is an exception and not the rule. He's still supporting and helping out Leona, of course--it's just not in the same way that a vice dorm leader would. And Leona still puts a lot of his trust in Ruggie; that strong bond can still exist, even without the formalized relationship of a dorm leader and vice dorm leader.

MASSIVE TF ONE SPOILERS AHEAD!! READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!!

Sentinel Prime is such an evil bastard but I still can’t help but love him, it’s not my fault they made him pretty. I knew from the moment I heard he was in the movie that he was going to be an asshole whether he was an antagonist or not, but I didn’t think they were going to take it so far as to have him remove almost everyone’s t-cogs and have him kill all the other primes, holy shit! He absolutely got what he deserved, even if the death was more brutal than expected. God I don’t even have the words to describe how amazing this movie was, I have to see it again! I was expecting the movie to go down the route where Sentinel was working with the Quintessons, not for them, but now in hindsight it does make a little bit more sense. I really liked the scenes where D-16 kept challenging him before his death, and even with all that the arrogant bastard still didn’t see it coming! This movie has taken my already massive Transformers brain rot and cranked it beyond 11. I’m probably going to be thinking about this movie for the next month, oh my god.

Also the MegOp divorce scene made me cry, god I love this movie.

I do think what most people bothers is the possible 'grooming' aspect, since Alucard met Integra as a child before forming a romantic connection with her. Seras was already 20 when they met.

I was about to make a post about the grooming situation too. Firstly I want to address how both Alucard/Integra and Alucard/Seras was largely perceived as a father and daughter relationship. I disagree with both cases. And secondly, Alucard groomed both Integra and Seras. He is a very clear case of victim becoming abuser. I could at least say this in his defense, that whatever he have done to Integra and Seras, was not out of hatred nor intentional malice for them.

We were barely shown his time with Integra when she was underaged. But grooming is a manipulation tactic imposed on any people of any age. Alucard treatment towards Integra and Seras are non-sexual grooming: Isolation, coercion, provocation and (mental) violence abuse to exploit and/or manipulate them. It was graphically shown, not implied. By definition, Integra was also groomed into becoming Hellsing leader (and into a religion that deemed a woman's value lies in her virginity too since we are on the topic) and every adult around her is complicit in that. So are the Iscariot kids, groomed by the church's system.

I understand why people feels "icky" with Alucard/Integra because of that aspect. Of course many relationships in Hellsing are abusive but people might felt less repelled by abusive relationships between adults than between a child and an adult. It's fair. Even Alucard/Integra shippers are discomforted by it, I have seen several headcanons and reinterpretations avoiding that aspect. Also I do believe a fictional depiction of an act doesn't equal the act itself. People should be prioritize over fiction and shouldn't receive harm because of fictions. Hellsing is a controversial work, liking the work doesn't inherently means your moral is deranged.

And on that note, even if you removed or changed how Alucard met Integra when she was at a young age, their relationship is still extremely abusive. Alucard displayed behaviours of an age regressor, he is emotionally stunted. Integra used it to her advantage. Alucard mentally abused Integra. They formed an unhealthy codependency. Both of them are placed in a situation where they're groomed into. THEY KILL AND EAT PEOPLE. There is no "ethical" way to perceive their relationship, platonic or not. Shipping doesn't always mean you think the situation is desirable. To me it is to explore fictional imaginary situations within the scope of fiction and doesnt bring harm to anyone. If anyone is discomforted by Alucard/Integra as a ship, either a platonic or not, they are rightful to feel so, A/I relationship is EXTREMELY nuanced. But it would be unfair to assume all of the shippers are morally deviant jusf for shipping them. I could say the same about any Hellsing/Hellsing ship fans too.

Anon I don’t know whether you’re still interested in this or not seeing as it has been [checks watch] two years since you sent this and for that I apologize, but if you aren’t, I hope someone will be

I mention this in a previous post, but I’m more willing to get into the details now that it’s actually come up in my fic:

basically, my hc is that kepler started flirting with and later sleeping with jacobi specifically as manipulation. This was not ordered but it was Suggested by cutter with plausible deniability

The goal was to make Jacobi have a more personal incentive to make Kepler happy and also to distract him if he ever had any moral complaints

But, well, kepler fell in love with him. But he can’t let himself admit that, which leads me to…

My bottom!kepler agenda:

My headcanon is that Kepler’s general preference is to bottom. He just likes it; it works for his body and he knows how to have a good time. He’s not weird about it EXCEPT for with Jacobi

Pre canon, he has never bottomed with Jacobi. Jacobi doesn’t even know he likes it, even though they sleep with each other for years

This is partially because 1) he’s trying to keep up a very specific image with Jacobi for maximum control, but it’s mostly because 2) he KNOWS he likes it. And he can’t admit to himself that he’s sleeping with Jacobi for his own satisfaction, for his own pleasure. He needs to keep it separate, keep reminding himself that there’s a reason he started this relationship in the first place and it’s NOT because he likes Jacobi and wants to be with him

Over time he sort of starts to build up the longing and the idea that if he ever did bottom for Jacobi, it would be because what they have is finally real

Because he can’t be normal about anything ever

This is mainly just my hc for my own fic, but I also do love playing around with ideas where he has gotten a chance to bottom for jacobi pre canon (see I Let Love In by @nammikisulora )

As always, I’m a lover of Kepler lives AU’s so here’s some general preference headcanons for post canon too:

I’ll be writing a fic about this hopefully but let’s say after they reconcile post-canon, they can work through Kepler’s weird hang ups about it all and then when he’s more comfortable…

Pillow princess Kepler rights. He deserves to be annoying and bossy and demanding about it. He doesn’t have to sub just because he’s bottoming, he’s perfectly capable of still bossing Jacobi around

I do think he likes to sub sometimes though. He seems to me like someone who needs both in his life and feels most comfortable when he’s got people he’s in control of and people telling him what to do and that what he’s doing is right

So in all the aimlessness of post canon, it’s certainly one way to make him feel like he has a purpose… like he’s serving something bigger than himself… there’s gotta be comfort in that

ANYWAY he also likes fingers in his mouth. Jacobi has very talented hands. He likes appreciating them
