i see a lot of people saying that Remus is the embodiment of intrusive thoughts, or that he is Thomas's intrusive thoughts, and i just want to remind y'all he's not.
he is Creativity, or more accurately, Forbidden Creativity. his job is intrusive thoughts. intrusive thoughts are something that he creates, knowingly or unknowingly, but he is not them. just like how Virgil is the root of panic attacks but he is not the embodiment of panic attacks alone. and Patton is the core of Thomas's emotions, but he is not one emotion.

Marauders men as cats
Regulus:
soft little prince
aloof boi
do not pick up or will scream
will forcefully burrow into your arms at three a.m. and demand cuddles tho
likes one brand of food and one brand only and the occasional saucer of milk
sassy bitch
will attack ankles
has sensitive ears
James:
the sweetest man
but for the love of god get this bitch a cat wheel he loves to ruuuuun
if you leave the room he'll follow you
lays on your keyboard when you're trying to work
plays fetch despite being a cat
snuggle sess at least once an hour
will sit in the window and observe neighborhood tea
Remus:
tired boi
snuggly boi
the best boi
he's usually sleeping in one of his favorite cozy, quiet spots
but will come out to make biscuits on you while you read
likes to watch tv
and have licks of ice cream
if you bought him a baby sling, he would stay in it and nap on your chest
super chill
Sirius:
do not pet after a bathing session
do not
only likes those cat treats that come in a tube
will steal your hairties and hoard them under the dresser
it's his collection
hides under blankets during storms
sings at the top of his lungs while you're sleeping
refuses to wake up until after 10 a.m.
Evan:
brings you dead things and stolen artifacts directly to your bed
a gentleman
but will occasionally knock your shit off the counter while making eye contact
he likes smol bites of watermelon
and bird watching
if a bug or mouse is in the house, will hunt and murder with expert precision
Barty:
feral bitch
literal agent of chaos
biites after giving kisses
fights his own reflection
will attempt to eat anything
anything
actually very smart but refuses to use a single braincell
will watch you shower (perv)
talks a big game, couldn't harm a fly
he's tried

I think Remus is the kind of guy who’d know so many weird secrets about different people. They’d randomly show up and talk to him about stuff that has been happening in their life or that really bothers them. And don’t get me wrong. He is nice to them and like responds emphatically, but he doesn’t get it. He is not your typical popular guy. Or popular in any sense really. Logically, it doesn’t add up at all. But still, I strongly believe people randomly open up to him. And I think he gives them real good advice, too!

i know this has been talked about to death already, but the way such a large part of the fandom characterises the marauders feels so mean spirited like- what do you mean they can barely tolerate each other? what do mean remus is always annoyed and exasperated what do you mean peter’s not part of the group what do you mean james is all sunshine and no substance what do you mean sirius’ existence warrants an apology in and of itself?
legit it’s just. idc if your incorrect quotes are just jokes, they make it look like the marauders are barely acquaintances who don’t even genuinely get along most of the time. if these supposed ‘best friends’ of whom half are supposedly soulmates don’t even seem to they like each other, why do you still claim they’re an iconic friend group??

Narcissa accidentally and reluctantly befriending all of the Gryffindors?
like imagine
Narcissa is staying late in the library, when she notices a very stressed Remus, when she eventually asks him if he needs help (she claims it’s her duty as a prefect) he claims to have missed a big test due to illness, so she helps him study and stay on top of things.
Narcissa notices Regulus hanging around James Potter a lot, and so when she sees him after quittitch games, she tells him good game.
Narcissa hangs around Dorcas a lot, so when Marlene begins to join them, Narcissa treats her with respect as she would anyone, trying to ignore her house and family name for the sake of her friend.
Frank notices her stealing glances and Alice every now and then, he knows that Alice likes her, so he starts to invite Alice to group studies and game nights.
Narcissa see’s Severus begin to give his long time friend crap for being a ‘mudblood’ and as much as she intends to keeps her bloodline clean, she’ll take any chance she can to annoy Snape, so she’ll put him in his place every now and then, before giving Lily a wink and waking off.
when Alice and Narcissa start seeing each other in secret, Alice one day suggests inviting her along for a hogsmeade trip, everyone agrees almost instantly, except for Sirius, who’s wondering how all of these people know his cousin so well.

the marauders but Remus is fluent in Gaelic and Sirius is fluent in French, so every time they fight they end up switching languages and Remus sounds like doing some ancient spell while Sirius sounds like he's possessed by the devil

hello, hello! I have sort of an idea/rant/question.
(about the whole Patton casting the "Dark Sides" out thing.)
so, like, did he?
because obviously, it'd make sense if Thomas' Morality disapproved of Deceit and Dark Creativity, but,,,
in Can Lying Be Good?, it's explained that Janus kept everyone's "mouths shut" about himself and Remus.
and in Dealing With Intrusive Thoughts, Remus sings about how Janus basically sent him off to fuck with everyone.
and Patton was VERY clearly offset by Remus' appearance. (i mean, come on.)
but in Can Lying Be Good?, the very episode that introduced the concept of the "Dark Sides", Patton seems super unaware of what's going on. and when he sees Janus (who's in his spot), he really isn't surprised to see him at all. just sorta oblivious but confused? but i'm guessing Patton understood that it was Deceit, because when Thomas worried about Janus calling him a good person, Patton realized that meant Janus tried telling him that he wasn't.
still, though, Patton didn't really hate that Janus kept appearing. he was just always the one to be challenged. and he definitely aimed that anger from his own actions at himself. (i mean, it led to him turning into a buff video game frog, so..)
and if Patton was the one to have hidden the "Dark Sides", how?
and how come Virgil was able to appear?
i dunno, something about Janus controlling when the Sides can talk about them sorta throws a wrench into this.

i do think it's odd when people talk abt r's lycanthropy as though it is somehow offensive to like....acknowledge or emphasize the fact that he is a werewolf at all. like i think it's weird when people say that it's gross or harmful to write lycanthropy (which is, of course, a fictional disease that is an allegorical tool for exploring themes related to disability) in a way where r is written with "wolfish" traits, or he or the people around him refer to him as a werewolf or just in any way emphasize that being a werewolf is part of who he is.
and i'm not trying to overstate this like it's a huge issue, because at most it's just like. a couple people making posts online, y’know? but i just think it's odd when i do see people say stuff like "don't refer to him as a beast/wolf/etc!!! he's a person!!" or act like it's disgusting for lycanthropy to alter his characterization at all to make him more "beastly"
because like. ok. what we have here is lycanthropy as a chronic illness that is vilified + stigmatized by the wider wizarding world. and typically in fics remus has a very negative view of his own lycanthropy since he's grown up in a society that tells him he's a monster. so if the response to that is "don't emphasize that he's a werewolf at all by giving him negative werewolf traits!!!" it's like....that is. exactly the message that we are supposed to be questioning if we're going into this allegory with a critical reading. bc u are also now treating being a werewolf like it's a bad thing.
like if u think it's an actual issue for him to be portrayed in a way where he is more wolfish/beastly....why? who's saying that those things are bad? why is it so important for him to be portrayed as "civilized" rather than "monstrous," and who in this context is qualifying what counts as "civilized" vs. "monstrous?" why is monstrosity diametrically opposed to humanity/personhood in the first place?
obviously this is all fanfiction and if somebody wants to write r's lycanthropy so that he's just a werewolf once a month + otherwise isn't that affected by it, or is only affected in ways that are easy to deem sympathetic (ie, he gets hurt + has to spend time in the hospital wing but he never exhibits any kind of aggression or "animalistic" or "beastly" qualities otherwise) then that's fine. and i'm also not saying that he has to be written as like hyper-dominant alpha wolf beastman either--i don't necessarily think that's the only possible interpretation for how lycanthropy might manifest in traits outside the full moon. it's more just that i think it's weird when people moralize about like...."playing into werewolf stereotypes" lol bc. again werewolves aren't real. but also in the context of lycanthropy as allegory, the goal is not to say "you can't write those traits related to disability bc it's a negative stereotype," which does nothing to question why it's a negative stereotype and ultimately just reinforces the idea that those traits are something negative. the goal is to use the allegory to explore how people who fit "negative stereotypes" of disability navigate an ableist society that stigmatizes them + insists that the only path to acceptance is to hide their disability as best they can + assimilate, while simultaneously making assimilation an impossible goal.

i love fake dating jegulus stories but okay picture how fucking funny and chaotic it would be if it was fake dating jegulus and fake dating wolfstar like imagine regulus likes remus and wants to make him jealous so he and james fake date but james has been in love with reggie the entire time and then on the other side of it we have remus who likes james and sees james and reggie “dating” and wants to make him jealous so he and sirius fake date and sirius has also been in love with remus the whole time. do you know how chaotic that would be? sirius loves remus, remus likes james, james loves regulus, and regulus likes remus. THE CHAOS

AU in which Regulus fakes his death and goes into hiding. Then Halloween 1981 happens and Sirius’ arrest makes the papers and he’s just struck with how such utter bullshit it is.
Because even though he hasn’t talked to or seen Sirius in years, he still knows his brother enough to know he wouldn’t kill James fucking Potter. The same boy who took him in all those years ago after he abandoned his family. The boy who was more of a brother to Sirius than Regulus ever was. He just can’t fathom the idea that Sirius would switch sides now of all times, after years of arguments and vitriol between him, their parents, their cousins…
And yea he hates his brother, thinks he’s an idiot for getting himself into this mess in the first place, but he can’t stand the idea of the ministry, of Dumbledore, letting an innocent man take the blame for something so horrific. He feels like he’s going crazy trying to piece it together, it’s eating him up inside. So he track down the only other person he thinks might understand, Remus Lupin. Only to find himself doing a lot more persuading that he originally planned.
And that’s how Regulus finds himself arguing for the innocence of a man he has every reason to loathe to the person who once considered that man the love of his love.
All while Remus can’t get past the fact Reg is still alive like what the fuck is going on and can he even be trusted?!

Possessive
wolfstar and jegulus microfic, 241 words
"Ugh," Sirius proclaimes as he drops himself into James's lap. Regulus looks up, eyes narrowed, and Remus sighs. Here we go.
"Pads," he says, "why are you on James?"
"'M tired," Sirius responds, burying his face in James's shoulder. James pats his back sympathetically and puts his hand in Sirius's hair. Remus does a mental facepalm. Really, James?
They sit like that for a few minutes, Remus and James studying, Sirius attempting to suffocate himself on James, and Regulus steadily growing more annoyed. Abruptly, Regulus slams his book down and says, "Know what? I'm a little tired too." He unceremoniously dumps himself on Remus, who stares at him in bemusement.
Sirius jerks upright, staring at the two. "Wha-what're you doing, Reggie?"
"Resting," says Regulus, laying his head on Remus's shoulder. Remus shakes his head and resumes reading. James looks between the two brothers, utterly lost.
"Regulus!"
"Yes?"
"Get off my boyfriend!"
"Get off of my boyfriend then, Sirius."
Sirius pauses, then rolls his eyes. "Oh, for-really?"
"Yes."
Sirius grumbles but gets up off of James and walks around the table. Regulus immediately gets up and returns to his seat, resuming his reading as if nothing has happened. As Sirius drapes himself over Remus, ready to resume his nap, James looks over at Regulus with comprehension dawning in his eyes.
"Possessive much?" He asks tesingly, tangling their feet under the table.
Regulus glares at him.
"Shut up, you love it."
James grins.
"I do."
