TWIN RUNES - FAQ

What exactly is this AU about? Twin Runes is essentially a comedic crossover AU between the universes of Deltarune and Undertale. No fancy nicnacs. Just the characters being their chaotic selves. But there might be some darkness lurking up ahead... ____________________

When is the next comic? The comic updates most Sundays at 6:30 PM Central European Time. ____________________

Why is this AU called Twin Runes? The name is more or less a play on the typical naming format of most AU's by featuring the "Runes" part. There are no literal Twin Runes. The whole name is more of a stand in for Undertale and Deltarune as parallel worlds. Hence the "Twin" part. ____________________

When does Twin Runes take place? This AU takes place between a hypothetical Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 of Deltarune. On the Undertale side of things, it takes place post neutral route just as Frisk was about to deliver Undyne's letter to Alphys.

How many pages are there going to be? The script for this comic estimates that the comic is going to be 137 pages long (if I don't make any major changes). ____________________

What software do you use to make your art/the comic? I use Clip Studio Paint. ____________________

Is the Player a thing in this AU? The Player(s) lost control over both human children as soon as Frisk entered the world of Deltarune. Essentially, the reader takes on the role of the Player. You have no influence on the outcome of the story anymore. All you can do is watch. Both Kris and Frisk refer to the Player as "It" and "the THING". ____________________

Is there going to be a Weird Route? Due to the lack of Player, all choices made by Kris are now their own. How to engage in battle all depends on Kris, and not the Player. Because of that, there are NO DIFFERENT ROUTES. There is only one route and that one is based on Kris' choices. Because of the lack of save points, there is no "what-if" scenario. ____________________

When Chapter 3 and 4 are released, will it affect the story? Any chapters after Chapter 3 won't affect the story in the grand scheme of things. Twin Runes created a new timeline so to speak. UPDATE: We are nearing the final arc of the story. The script has been long completed and is set in stone. Even with Chapter 3 and 4's release there is no way for me to incorporate anything from Chapter 3 (read the rest of the FAQ) into the story without making a mess of things. Yes, that also includes your favorite character Pluey. UPDATE OF THE UPDATE: Since Twin Runes was created before Chapters 3 and 4, there are bound to be inconsistencies going forward!Luckily, this is an AU, and I designed it to be purposefully off in some parts because I knew I would inevitably be wrong!!!! So no. There won't be any references to Chapter 3 in the comic going forward (since the story takes place between a hypothetical Chapter 3 and 4 [so not the canon ones]) And it won't be moved downwards the timeline. ____________________

How old are the characters in this story? Frisk appears to be around 9 years old. Kris thinks they're 14. (Both Frisk and Kris don't know their actual age.) Chara died when they were around 10-11. Susie is around 15-16 (she was held back once) Ralsei appears to be the same age as Kris. ____________________

What's up with Kris' and Frisk's hair? The red bits of their hair is more or less a representation of their souls. That in turn is also why Chara doesn't have that feature. They are soulless. It's a stylistic choice. ____________________

What's that thing on Kris' chest? It's a scar they got from tearing out their soul.

And why do they have weird lines all over their body? Both Kris and Frisk's anatomy resemble that of ball-jointed dolls. They appear just as markings across their bodies. Think of them as elaborate birthmarks. Kris and Frisk are still made of flesh and blood, but are in fact hypermobile. The reason as to why they do is still a little secret :) People here like to refer to these markings as "puppet limbs". You can get a better look at them and the scar in this artwork

Are old art, comics and asks from your blog part of Twin Runes? Unless stated otherwise, all art that was made prior to the start of the comic are not canon to Twin Runes. That mainly includes the old asks. __________________

Why is Dark World Frisk green? Frisk changes their main sweater colors with Kris when they enter the Dark World.

Could other ghosts see Chara? (pre Darkner transformation) No, only Frisk and Kris were able to see Chara. ____________________

Where are Jevil and Spamton? Are they in Castle Town? The Fun Gang have already fought these two in the previous chapters and added them into their inventory. Outside of that little dream sequence, neither will be making an appearance. ____________________

Is anyone from Undertale Yellow gonna make an apperance? Outside of a tiny cameo from Clover (that has no greater bearing on the story) no one from Undertale Yellow is going to make an appearance. ____________________

How would the characters from Deltarune react if they met their Undertale counterpart? The universe would implode if that happens. ____________________

But what abou- The. Universe. Would. Implode. Next question! ____________________

How did you come up with the idea of Twin Runes? Twin Runes is an offshoot of a separate script I started in 2023. The concept of this script is similar to Twin Runes, but turned on its head. The funny moments in that script made me continue what now is the start of Twin Runes. I pretty much just wanted to see if I am actually capable of drawing a comic to begin with. So... in a way Twin Runes is my first attempt at a comic ever. If I ever finish Twin Runes, then I know I can tackle turning that mammoth project of a script into a comic too. In the grand scheme of things these two projects are sister series. They have A LOT in common and even share similar plot elements. When Twin Runes is over you will automatically also know certain mysteries of The Other Script. ____________________

What is The Other Script? As of this moment I call The Other Script: "Lost in the In-Between". At its core it's an inverse of Twin Runes. I.e. Kris falling into the underground and being aided by Frisk on their quest to return home. The story is considerably more grounded than Twin Runes and so are the characters. Though they do have their silly moments from time to time. The overall mood of that script is a lot darker in nature and it's a 200+ page passion project of mine. The script OF The Other Script is not open to the public. Only a select few people have access to it for proof reading. ____________________

Is there x ship in Twin Runes? The focus of this story is not on shipping. If it's in the game it will very likely be mentioned or brought up, but that's about it. ____________________

What pronouns do the human children use in this story? THEY/THEM FOR ALL OF THEM WITHOUT ANY EXCEPTIONS. That is what they are in this story. This is not open to interpretation. Please respect that. If this is a dealbreaker for you, then unfortunately this story is not for you.

From the Award-winning composer of Sherlock and Casino Royale comes a follow up to the hugely successful, Emmy nominated Good Omens soundtrack.

Good Omens series 2 premiered on Prime Video on 28th July. The series follows the odd couple, angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and demon Crowley (David Tennant) in their quest to sabotage the end of the World. The six-episode sequel to the popular adaptation of the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, concerns the Archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) arriving without his memories to Aziraphale’s bookshop. Aziraphale and Crowley attempt to find out what happened to Gabriel, whilst hiding him from Heaven and Hell, both eager to find him.

The Soundtrack

David Arnold’s soundtrack to Good Omens was first released in 2019 to favourable reviews, with BBC Music Magazine calling it “a rollicking trip to hell and back”. Blueprint Magazine described it as “a great listen” and Sci Fi Bulletin commented on “plenty of memorable themes” to conclude that “This is another work of art from Arnold”. At times nostalgic and eerie but always varied, beautiful and full of excitement, the Good Omens 2 soundtrack showcases Arnold’s every skill from his composer arsenal. Featured here are orchestral arrangements with sprinkling of Sugar Plum Fairy pizzicato and percussion, jaunty strings and mighty choral sweeps from Crouch End Festival Chorus. Added to the mix are rock guitar riffs, and psychedelic 70s sounds and all together they create a haunting otherworldly feel, complementing the fantasy and the quirky humour of the show. The spirited Waltz of the opening theme is also present in the second series and it wonderfully sets the scene for fantastical mayhem. In series 2, this robust, evocative, and funny music entity, becomes yet again another character in the story. GASTER'S RETURN - FAQ

What is the plot ?

Everything is in the title, it's a story about Gaster returning from wherever he was after his accident that broke him between time and space. This story is set after the Pacifist ending, months after monsters have been freed from the Underground

What are the main themes of this story ?

The story will focus on the difficulties he will encounter about this return in a brand new world, about searching for his place in this new setting, and letting go of the old one, while also putting some light on the impact it all had on his family and friends.

Is it an AU (Alternative Universe ?) ? And how close it is from Undertale ?

Yep, it is an AU. But I want to keep it as close of the canon as possible, in order to really tell a story based on the game. But it won't be exactly the same of course, my own headcanons, and other interpretations for narrative purpose, will be in there.

How did you get the idea of making this AU ?

At the very beginning, in April 2024 kinda, I started to make some random drawings of Gaster, and some KingDings (AsgorexGaster) sketches. It was some really light stuffs, Gaster doing random casual things on the surface, but then slowly a story began to form into my mind as I started to ask myself questions about the why and how. I decided that I wanted to make something out of it for once, so I began to study writing and comic making for a few months in order to start an AU for this idea, and here it is!

Wait wait wait, does that mean there will be KingDings in this AU ? :0

Well, no not really. The main focus of this story won't be romance at all. At this point of their lives, I don't think neither of them are ready for a relationship (if I want it to be healthy). So no romance, but if you want to see romance, between them or any other characters, I can't stop you x) (As long as it's legal of course...)

Why is the comic separated into scenes?

The comic is organized like this, every new setting is a new scene. It's how I organize my writing and I wanted to make it explicit

When will the next pages come out ?

I try to make approximatively 5 pages every two weeks

How long is this going to take to complete the story ?

Long as hell, I have written a prologue and 3 chapters to finish the story, wish me luck

Am I allowed to make a dub of the comic ?

I honestly don't know if anyone would ever want to make one, but if you do, sure you can ! (as long that you credit me of course)

You are also allowed to make fanarts, or any fanwork based on this AU, again I'm not sure if anyone would, but just in case x)

Am I allowed to repost this AU somewhere else ? Or to make a translation ?

The age-standardized death rate from cancer declined by 15%

When Robby arrived home from his shift he saw Delilah finishing up dinner. Seeing her moving around his space with no qualms put something in him at ease. It was still hard to believe that they had only known each other for almost two months, but he wouldn’t change it for anything. Spotting him near the door she smiled brightly. 

“Dinners just about done, I'm just waiting on the rolls.” She explained, handing him a water bottle when he made his way over to him. Wrapping his arms around her waist Robby pulled her flush against his chest. Pressing a kiss to the top of her head and another one to her nose when she looked up at him he smiled softly. 

“Thank you baby girl, you didn’t have to do all this.” He murmured, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Kissing his cheek she pulled away to fetch the rolls from the oven. They chatted as they set the table, asking about each other's day. He had almost called in to work not wanting to leave her alone but she was apparently just fine. When they sat down to eat he saw that she looked almost nervous. 

“Can I talk to you about something?” Delilah asked. She wasn’t looking at him, instead staring at her plate as if her food was the most interesting thing in the world. 

“Of course, everything ok?” He asked, curious about what exactly she wanted to discuss. Delilah took a deep breath before beginning. 

“So I know we said that we would do the situationship for as long as we wanted so we could see where we wanted it to go. Well I would like for us to make it more permanent, whether we call it dating, courting, or any other thing. My feelings have gone past simply friends,” She took a deep breath and when it looked like she was going to continue rambling Robby cut her off. 

“I would love to be your boyfriend Delilah,” he said. She blinked at him in surprise, seemingly not knowing what to say. “I honestly didn’t think you’d want to expand it further, especially considering the fact that you’re 29 and i’m 47.” Delilah simply frowned at him. 

“Why would your age matter? You’re a good person, you care so deeply about all of your patients, and you treat me way better than anyone else has.” She seemed genuinely puzzled on why he found the age gap concerning. Robby chuckled a bit, taking a sip of his water. 

“How is your family going to take the news that you’re dating someone 18 years your senior?” He asked curiously. Delilah pondered the question for a moment while finishing a bite of her food. 

“Grandma Rose will be happy since she mainly worries about our happiness. My uncles will be a little more wary, especially Uncle Todd since he’s the oldest at 57.” She said. 

“How many Uncles do you have?” Robby asked, wanting to know more about her family. A small smile spread across her face as she thought of her family. 

“I have 3 uncles and 3 aunts,” She replied between bites of her dinner. “Todd is the oldest at 57, Mary is second oldest at 55. Her and my dad were twins. Marcus, Trisha, and Sammi are 50. And Shawn is the baby at 45.” She ticked off each family member on her fingers. Robby’s head swam a bit trying to remember names and ages. 

“A set of twins and triplets?” He knew some families were prone to multiples but was a little shocked at just how many were in her immediate family. 

“Oh ya, my Grandma is actually a triplet herself,” Delilah chuckled. “My mom was the youngest out of 5 but I haven't heard from that side of the family since I left Spencer.” Her voice was sad as she talked about her maternal family. Robby frowned, not liking the look on her face or the sadness in her voice. Reaching across the table he squeezed her hand, lacing their fingers together. 

“Why don’t you talk to them?” He asked, his tone light so as to not come off as if he were prying for information. She sighed, putting down her fork and bracing her chin on the palm of her hand. 

“My cousin Cassie is married to his brother. They’re why we met in the first place. When things reached their peak and I attempted to leave none of them believed me,” Delilah said softly. “Even when I was covered in bruises and even had a broken rib they thought I was lying for attention.” Hearing how her family had treated her pissed Robby off to no end. He had to take a deep breath to calm the anger that was quickly rising. 

“I’m so sorry baby,” he said struggling to find the appropriate words. “I take it your paternal family believed you?” She let out a small snort, nodding her head with a smile. 

“They were furious, I had to convince my cousins it wasn’t worth the jail time if they tried to kill him.” She said laughing. Robby felt better knowing someone was on her side. It pained him to think of her hurting all alone. Changing the subject she pinned him with a questioning look. “I know you have your step son Jake, do you want biological kids at all?” Not expecting that question Robby choked on his water. Coughing a bit he managed to clear his throat. 

“I’ve thought about it,” he said, wiping his mouth. “But at this stage in my life I’m a little more ‘if it happens it happens’ you know?” Delilah nodded in agreement. 

“I’m the same way. I honestly could care less if I have kids,” She paused for a moment. “The only thing I know that I want eventually is to get married. Even if its just a courthouse wedding.” Robby nodded in agreement. 

“I’m old school so I agree on the marriage aspect,” He paused while she laughed. “Though honestly I’d rather date long term and then eventually get married.” Delilah looked relieved at his statement. 

“Oh thank god, people look at me like I got four heads whenever I say I want to be with someone for a minimum of three years before getting married.” Delilah then stood up and gathered their plates to take in the kitchen. 

“I take it we’re now good to move forward with dating?” he teased. He watched as she laughed, throwing him a bright smile.

“Yes sir, you aren’t getting away from me now.” 

As Robby strolled into work the next morning he spotted Santos, Whittaker, and Javadi huddled together near the nurses station. As he got closer he could make out what they were saying. 

“Do you think it’s like a sugar baby thing?” Santos asked curiously, not noticing that Robby was approaching them. “She was wearing a super short skirt when she came in here. Plus I swear I could see them hugging in the staff lounge.” Whittaker shot her an unimpressed look. 

“If he had a sugar baby why would she come anywhere near the hospital?” He asked, Javadi nodded her agreement. Before any of them could say anything Robby cleared his throat loudly startling them. 

“Good morning guys,” He said, watching as they looked at him nervously. “Just a tip for the future, conversations regarding your coworkers private lives should not be handled in the pit while you are on the clock.” When he indicated they were to return to work they scattered. Spotting Dana he made his way over to her.

“Good morning Robby,” She greeted cheerfully. Robby smiled as he greeted her back. “If you need Abbot for anything he’s up on the roof getting some air.” Sighing quietly Robby set his backpack down and headed toward the roof. Thankfully when he got up there Jack wasn’t standing on the ledge, he was just leaning on the railing looking as if he’d rather be anywhere else. 

“What’re you doing Jack?” He asked as he approached the other man. Jack sighed before leveling a look at Robby. 

“Having my daily existential crisis,” he deadpanned. “You seem more chipper than usual.” 

“Well waking up to my girlfriend making me coffee in only my shirt tends to do that,” Robby chuckled. Jack turned his full attention now on Robby with a raised eyebrow.

“So you finally manned up and asked Delilah out?” He asked. Robby smiled and nodded not missing the ‘fucking finally’ look Jack shot him. 

“Though technically she asked me out,” Robby said. Jack simply shook his head pushing away from the railing so they could head back inside.

“At least one of you is smart.”

Again most of them are the multi parts. chapter 47 originally didn't have the title and stats but the panel looked just like a food is done panel so I went to check on the official release and they added it so it's here. Chapter 37 I think its so far the only non multi part chapter where no food is prepped or eaten, in chapter 52 they make and drink tea even tho there's no special panel.

Now for stats.

Senshi made/worked on 17, 18 if you count the Crispy Crunchy Mushroom Sandwich and 19 if you count the small help with the omelet, I'll count the sandwich so 18.

Chilchuck worked on 3 meals

Marcille worked on 3 meals, one of them she was making a potion but it got used in a sauce

Laios made/worked on 4 meals, 2 of them by himself! And one of them with minimal Senshi help.

Izutsumi helped with the dumplings, you go izutsumi.

Out of the 24 meals in these 4 volumes, 22 were food and 1 was medicine and 1 was a goopy brick

Out of the 22 foods Senshi worked on 17 of them (1 of his was the brick), 3 of them were Laios, 1 of them was ready made food and 1 was the golden kingdom citizens

The eastern style meal was mostly made by Maizuru but Senshi helped.

There was a few panels that were small/had dialog in them but I counted cause they had the meal title, dragon ham title appears twice but I only counted as one meal.

97% of firms in India, 96% of firms in Indonesia, and 91% of firms in Mexico have fewer than 10 employees. Of these, most are just a single owner-operator, or perhaps a household enterprise. 55% of employment in developing countries is self-employment, rising to a staggering 77% in sub-Saharan Africa. These individuals operate firms, producing goods or providing services. Indeed they operate most firms. If we want to enable firms to grow, how should we think about these self-employed people? One possibility is that self-employed people are “micro-entrepreneurs.” They would like to grow their enterprises, but don’t have the resources to do so. This is the premise of microfinance, the most popular development intervention of the 2000s. Microfinance is the practice of giving households small loans that they can use to set up or grow a home business. If self-employed people are really microentrepreneurs, then the key to firm growth is giving them more access to capital. However, many different lines of evidence suggest that this view of self-employed people is inaccurate, and that it is more accurate to think of them as workers looking for wage employment than as entrepreneurs.  In developing countries, self-employed people transition to wage employment at similar rates as unemployed people — and earn similar wages when they do. This isn’t what we would expect to see if self-employed people intended to grow their businesses as “microentrepreneurs.” In that case, they would be reluctant to quit their enterprise and take a wage job. This is exactly the behavior we see in rich countries, where self-employed people transition to wage employment much less frequently than unemployed people, and do it for higher wages.  Microfinance studies also reveal that microloans have very little average impact on household or business outcomes. Most businesses run by an individual or a household are just not designed to scale. All of these facts point to self-employed people behaving more like unemployed workers than like entrepreneurs — which is to say, looking for jobs rather than aiming to create them. If self-employed people act more like unemployed workers than business owners, that implies that we should not design policy to bolster the growth of microenterprises. These microenterprises are desperate measures in the absence of wage employment, and will melt away if and when formal-sector firm growth creates more jobs. Formal-sector firm growth is key to making developing countries grow. Another urgent implication of this fact is that there is an unemployment crisis in developing countries that isn’t captured by official statistics. The typical approach to measuring unemployment is to ask whether people want to work but are unable to find any opportunities to do so — including self-employment. By this measure, the official unemployment rate in developing countries is 5% and 6% — around the same as in developed countries. However, if self-employed people are unemployed “in disguise,” this number could be much higher. One study estimated that at least 24% of self-employment during India’s agricultural lean season occurs solely because workers cannot find jobs. If we (loosely!) extrapolate this to a sub-Saharan African country with 77% of workers being self-employed, then the true unemployment rate jumps from 6% to 25%! Even if only 50% of workers are self-employed, then the true unemployment rate is still 18%. That level of unemployment is a catastrophic failure, and a crisis that cuts against both poverty alleviation for individuals and aggregate growth.
