As God's children and God's servants, we can draw upon … the riches of His grace (Eph. 1:7; 2:7), the riches of His glory (Eph. 3:16; Phil. 4:19), unsearchable riches (Eph. 3:8), the riches of His mercy (Eph. 2:4), the riches of His wisdom (Rom. 11:33), and much more: "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work" (2 Cor. 9:8).

1) ”Often people attempt to live their lives backwards: they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you love to do, in order to have what you want." 

2) The formula for success is Be, Do, Have. If we seek abundance, we must be abundant in spirit. We can begin to cultivate spiritual wealth by opening our hearts in gratitude. 

JR: “What do you want to have?”  “What do you want to do?”  These are the questions we hear most often from those around us. “What kind of person do you want to be?”  It sounds kind of strange, doesn’t it? And yet, without searching for the answer to this and moving towards it, your havings and doings may very well work against the deeper sense of who you wish to be, thereby leading to dissatisfaction and frustration.

PP: Ask yourself “What kind of person do I want to be?” and answer it with just one characteristic. What is one step you can take to move more towards your aspirational personality?

PA: 2 things I hope to be are 1) a catalyst to make people laugh and have fun and 2) an inspiration to others (through my work, writings, and life) to live with a positive, hopeful spirit that engenders an environmentally friendly world. The dilemma for me is that this entails being with people and being away from people (to write). Finding this balance remains a central challenge of my life.

There are two highly desirable things in life, the Bible explains to us, wisdom and riches, that is why when in the life of a person the two things go together, this is a true blessing for man. This is also what is known as the union between power, which is given by wealth, and dominion, which is given by wisdom. When this happens, spiritual power is manifested among men. Wisdom is particularly valuable, the Bible teaches us with a beautiful proverb: "Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left" Proverbs 3:15-16. And about the importance of these goods the master of wisdom added an important spiritual truth: "The poor are honored for their wisdom; the rich are honored for their wealth" Ben Sira 10:30. Wisdom becomes especially valuable for people who do not have money, the Bible teaches us, because as many examples also testify, many blessings come with her. David was the last of his brothers in his family, but full of spirit and endowed with great wisdom, he was anointed by the prophet Samuel and chosen as King Saul's successor in the Kingdom of Israel. David knew how to transform the crisis into an opportunity, and the evils received into a great good, not only for him, but also for the entire nation of Israel. But also the wise Ben Sira tried to show us this relationship between wisdom and riches in another way with these words: "Honored in poverty, how much more so in wealth! Disgraced in wealth, in poverty how much the more!" Ben Sira 10:31. The search for wisdom is definitely a requirement, if we want to lead a full and happy life, just as the best thing is to go from poverty to riches with wisdom, the worst that can happen to us is to leave a life full of material goods towards a life of poverty due to the lack of wisdom to live, this was one of the most important teachings that the wisdom teacher Ben Sira left us.
