SERIES MASTERLIST
pairing: college!basketball!captain!rafe x college!student!reader content: fluff, college au, smau/irl, inaccurate school system talk
summary: You were trying to make one problem disappear. You were tired, so you lied. That small lie led you to contact the last person you wanted to ask for help. It wasn’t that you didn’t like Rafe; only that you didn’t want to deal with his constant teasing more than you already did. Also, you two weren't that close, but this one lie was going to bring you two closer and maybe help some truths come to light.
word count: 0.6k
authors note: we're back, literally. there will be more flashbacks in the future so stay tuned. Also I made a playlist with the songs up to this part.

Sophomore year - 2022
Statistics. You weren’t the biggest fan of the class, yet you took it every semester of your major. One positive thing this class brought you was Kelce. You and Kelce had met thanks to your moms when you were kids and had also gone to kindergarten together. You had moved houses, and when it was time for elementary school, you belonged to a new district, so you didn’t attend the same one as Kelce. But life brought the two of you back together last year in this very same class. As a freshman, you thought you wouldn’t know anyone, but there was the familiar face with whom you had shared so many memories. Kelce didn’t hesitate to talk to you, and it felt like no time had passed.
This was supposed to be the second class, but the professor was sick last week, so there was no class. Even if this was the first class, he was already assigning a project. It was small, but it had to be done in groups of no fewer than three people, and those groups would remain for the rest of the semester.
“You can work with us,” Kelce said.
“Us who?” you asked, confused; he was alone.
“He is late; he had an impromptu basketball meeting.” Just as on cue, the guy Kelce had been talking about walked into the class, excusing himself to the professor and standing in front of you.
“You’re in my seat,” he said in a gentle tone.
“Well, you weren’t here.” You gave him a little smile and added,
“I think I can forgive you just because of that smile,” he smirked.
“Just sit down, Rafe,” Kelce motioned to his friend, and you just stared at him.
After the class ended, Kelce formally introduced the two of you and mentioned that he would create a group chat to talk when needed. You said goodbye to both and left for your next class.
“So, how long have you known her?” Rafe asked Kelce.
“Since when do you care how long I’ve known someone?”
“Since today,” he paused. “Now answer.” Kelce chuckled.
“Since we were kids; our moms are friends. You would’ve met her if she hadn’t moved away before we started elementary school.”
“Why is this the first time I’m hearing about this?”
“Why would I mention it before?… Wait! You liked her,” Kelce laughed as they walked out of class.
“Not to be that guy, but have you seen her? Why wouldn’t I like her?”
“Have some backbone, would you? You don’t even know her.”
“And that’s your fault! Why have you kept her hidden?” Kelce laughed out loud again.
“I haven’t kept her hidden.”
“Do you like her?”
“Calm down, would you? No, I don’t like her. She is pretty, but she’s not my type, and I’ve known her for so long I can’t see her that way.”

“I didn’t know you knew Rafe,” Sarah says as you both make your way inside the coffee shop.
“I don’t; Kelce introduced us yesterday in statistics class, and now we are working together as a group.”
“That’s nice. He’s pretty good with numbers.”
“Good to know. I’m not a big fan,” you said, chuckling softly. “How do you know him?”
“Oh, he is my cousin. We were born almost at the same time and grew up together,” Sarah smiled.
“It’s like you are siblings.”
“Oh, we definitely treat each other like siblings sometimes,” she laughs.
You both continued talking and decided to order because the guys weren’t showing up, and Ruthie had told you that she was going to be late because she had forgotten to buy groceries. After you two had ordered, you sat and continued talking while scrolling through your phones.

You were just a nice addition to the company's financial team. Either you were hired because of your pretty looks, or maybe you're just pleasing to the eyes. Now Giyuu Tomioka was having a hard time– that pretty face of yours was just so distracting to him. He was the finance leader, getting promoted just recently. . .
. . .But you were as dumb as can be. How? You were terrible at statistics. Seriously, why did the boss even hire you in the first place? That's why the team made you some free use. When someone needs some coffee? You'd be there in a jiffy with their preferred creamer or sugar or plain old black. Maybe, when they needed something to be copied over by the machine? You'd be in the copy room for hours to help with that.
The only one who never regarded you was the leader, Giyuu. He had a problem with you or something? You couldn't tell at all, you pursued your lips shut. He was explaining some new project the team was assigned. Honestly, the information went from one ear and out the other.
Your eyes looked up wide as giyuu's thumb slid against your lips. "Naughty baby.." Letting out a small grunt that escaped your lips, you unsubconciously nestled between his legs. "Giyuu– stop teasing.." You let out that whine. Back at the meeting room, but doors locked, everybody had left it left only you two in the tense atmosphere. He'd only ever notice you when he wanted to fuck.
"Eh? But you weren't even listening to my instructions, were you?" You shaked your head as you leaned your head out. "–I did, giyuu.." He harshly tilted your chin further. "Then tell me, why are you grinding me like a degenerate whore right now?" That was not a lie, you'd been quivering– your hole spasming at the slightest touch of that blucher shoes of his. The heel stimulates your drenched undies, so good you held back a moan.
"Mmm, can't help myself when I'm with you.." You reasoned, trying to get on his good side. The one that fucks you slowly and lovingly like you were so fragile to him, you would break in an instant. No. . no, he was looking at you with desire those lapis blue eyes staring down at you– you could literally climax in an instant.
"A fuckin' slut. . .recount what I just said, hm?" His voice went on a lower octave, fuckfuckfuck. You were going to lose it, "Yes well–" another subtle grind from you to his shoes. "You instructed us to calculate the sum of—" Your breath hitched as he had wrapped a hand around your throat, squeezing lightly. "Dumb.. dumb bunny, that isn't even correct.."
"What?" Then you felt it another squeeze— you'd be gasping for air right now, but the lightheaded as you were. You'd let out a hard breath, blinking. Giyuu was never this rough, not that you don't want.. no, you want it— it was just weird. "Get your fucking ass on the desk now."
Your tears were nonstop at this point, crying at this point. He'd been edging for how long? Fuck, it didn't matter anymore. The spanks, slaps, and spewing insults didn't matter. You needed his dick now. . ! Even with the way his spit rolled down on your sensitive nub without his fingers, there's no way you'd even fit half of it in.
"Shitt— it's not gonna fit if you don't relax..!" You really did try, but he was penetrating so rough– the pain and pleasure letting out your high-pitched moans bouncing the meeting room. He grabbed your face and then stared, both of you sharing a moment of bliss from his roughness. "Sweetheart, you gotta relax.. just spread your legs better.. 'Kay?"
"Hold your legs—agh.. fuckk you're tight just like last night?"

[2024.9.30 - y.j choi / m.j kim interview : contacts #3 & #4]
contacted list : s.y kwon (1), j.y sim (2), y.j choi (3), m.j kim (4)
RIKI : are you okay with this interview being recorded and transcribed, especially in the event of these audio clips possibly being publicized?
YEONJUN : yes, i don’t mind.
MINJAE : [nods]
JUNGWON : minjae, sir. we’re gonna need you to verbally agree into the mic.
MINJAE : yeah. i’m fine with it.
RIKI : how did you feel about being assigned to the lee-park case?
YEONJUN : it was kind of a big break for me. if i solved, or, partook in solving this case, i would’ve been given better assignments and more opportunities. i kinda had a bad reputation for accidentally letting minor criminals go, but this really got the department to trust me more. i just wanted the respect, that’s all.
RIKI : minjae?
MINJAE : obviously because of the strike at the city hospital, they were short on paramedics. officers have to know medical basics, so we had a lot of our team volunteering at the ED. i was supposed to be one of them. but then your friend killed your other two friends, and we were so short staffed that they gave this crazy case to the departments rookies. i wanted no part in this, but i did feel satisfied after lee was brought down.
YEONJUN : [speaking to minjae] [inaudible]
MINJAE : [speaking to yeonjun] [quietly] don’t tell me to leave high school drama in the past. you didn’t even know why [inaudible] — between me and that group.
JUNGWON : can we bring the discussion back into the group, please?
MINJAE : i’m done here. don’t think i’m not watching you two, especially since you’re still going to school with my sister.
MINJAE : [he gets up and leaves the room]
JUNGWON : yeonjun, are you still available to answer more questions?
YEONJUN : of course, but just a few. we’re supposed to be expecting a big call in about an hour. sorry about minjae by the way. i know he has something against your friends, but im not sure what he has against you two specifically.
RIKI : all good. but, this is something i’ve been meaning to ask. why was jay’s body never found?
YEONJUN : yeah, uh.. the thing about that. jay park was a very unique case. heeseung lee, he was found dead within the first two weeks. only 3% of people stay missing for over a week, with much less chances of being found dead. that alone already had the department spooked. but jay.. 1% of people stay missing for over a month. yet jay was never found. ever.
YEONJUN : over a year after we first received the call, we had to legally declare him as dead. we just didn’t have the resources to keep looking for him. you know how bad crime is in los angeles.. but, i tried. he was so young, i wanted to keep looking. but the department couldn’t afford to.
RIKI : i’ll have to ask you about that part off the record. but, just one last question while i still have you. i notice you kept checking your walkie. why was heeseung’s cause of death never publicized?
YEONJUN : i.. i don’t..
YEONJUN : [sudden distinct noise via walkie talkie, calling his name]
YEONJUN : ah shit. this is the call we’ve been waiting for. i’m really sorry about that last question, but i’ll try to get back to you on that! [he reassures before rushing out the room]
JUNGWON : alone again.
RIKI : wait. do you remember the rules the teacher gave us?
JUNGWON : yeah, why?
RIKI : and you know how she said under no circumstances should we contact any families directly involved?
JUNGWON : you can’t be serious, riki. we are not talking to yn. i don’t get why you’re so obsessed with proving her innocent.
RIKI : because there’s no way it was her. i know yn, she couldn’t even kill a spider. you really think she’d kill her own brother and boyfriend? she loved jay and you know it.
JUNGWON : it’s always the ones you least expect it to be, you know how it is. maybe we didn’t know her as well as we thought.
RIKI : you may not want to talk to her, but i do and will. if you don’t want to help me then so be it. but when i’m done with her, i’ll contact sunghoon —

Introject Heavy: A Personal Anecdote Discussion.
Q: We describe ourselves as introject heavy, but why do we do this?
Short Answer: We have a high amount of introjects in our system.
Long Answer: Due to our autism, we have an inability to conceptualize. This manifests into being introject heavy as when we are going through a split, more than often our brain is unable to conceptualize what we need to get back to functioning and instead will introject it from pre-existing means (whether that be in fictional media or real life)
Q: Why do we have so many introjects from sources that we like/hyperfixate on?
Let's have a look at the statistics.
My Little Pony (10 introjects)
Steven Universe (5 introjects)
Bang Dream! GBP (3 introjects)
Project Sekai (2 introjects)
Sometimes when finding a solution to a problem the solution is the one that is the most obvious. My Little Pony and Steven Universe have a wide variety of characters, with well developed flaws and personality. They are also medias that we interact with a lot especially in difficult times.
That being said, an introject does not come from hyperfixations or special interests and is always negatively induced. Introjects are simply taking traits and characteristics from something that always exist to help the brain in assigning a role that the brain believes will find a solution to the problem. We have introjects from medias we haven't interacted with (ie we introjected Ash from TCOOAL a game we've never played but saw our wife playing) and we've gotten introjects from medias we know very little amount (we introjected Emmy from a comic series we had found on Instagram).
I think as an introject heavy system, both sides of sysblr are taking the simplicity out of introjects and reading too deep in order to fuel their arguments. They aren't this incredibly rare phenomenon that indicates malingering of DID and they also aren't fictional characters - they are a part of your collective identity that just so happen to have traits introjected from fictional characters.

A pillar of support
Michael Gavey x F!Reader 18+ Minors DNI Word Count: 2,3k Tags / Warnings: Smut, loss of virginity, looming sense of me projecting my insecurities about my upcoming statistics exams
Tumblr media
“What don't you understand? I've told you five times already, it is one of the easiest concepts. If you just follow the formulae, you’ll manage your assignment.”
You nervously picked up your pen again, clicking it a few times. “I know, Michael, but… I don't get it. I want to understand what I’m solving.” The numbers on your paper wouldn't want to make sense to you and Michael's bobbing leg distracted you further.
“They let anyone study here, urgh”, he muttered and ran a hand through his short hair.
Crossing your arms over your chest, you took his written assignment out of its plastic folder. “Well, I'm not the one that has written ‘This theory has been proven and it is Logical, I shall not explain more.’ You do know that'll be rejected? You've not quoted anyone in all of these ten pages.”
Michael narrowed his eyes and scooted closer to you. “That is why I have taken out my time to sit with you, so you can correct it for me,” he said coolly.
Raising an eyebrow, you laughed incredulously and pushed the paper back to him, getting ready to leave. “D’you think I'll help you out, for free, without anything in return? You're a dreamer.”
“No, please, wait,” he said and quickly put his hand on your arm. “The thing is that I've tried explaining to you what you've asked of me. I can't make it easier.”
‘So he really does need my help, then’, you thought to yourself and gave him a small smile. “Well, what would you offer me then?”
You could see his mind racing as he looked over his assignment once more. “How long would it take for you to correct it and give me feedback?”, he asked matter-of-factly.
Getting up from the small chair in his room, you stretched and let yourself fall onto his uncomfortable bed. “Anywhere between one and two hours. Why?”
His eyes scanned your body, stopping at your short skirt and your bare, plump thighs. “I'll meet you next Saturday and you can choose what to do, I'll do it with you and pay for it, but only if that assignment comes back at a 85% or more”, he mumbled, a slight blush spreading on his stern face.
You knew what he was thinking about and it made you want to giggle. He really wasn't as subtle as he thought he was. “Mh, anything?" You turned onto your stomach, looking up at him, batting your lashes. “That isn’t very ‘specific’ and ‘observable’ of you.”
He rolled his eyes and got up, giving you an annoyed look. “Stop parroting me.”
You grinned and got up as well, noticing the way his ugly trekking pants started bulging. “Oh, I will parrot you as long as I want to. Not that you seem to mind, anyhow.”
Michael realized what he was doing and quickly stepped back, his eyes widening in embarrassment. “I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable,” he stammered.
You couldn't help but laugh at how flustered he got. He was usually so stoic and uninterested in women that it was surprising to see him blush like this. You crossed your arms over your chest and gave him a knowing look. “It’s okay, I get it…you think I’m seducing you or something?”
He coughed awkwardly before averting his gaze. You could tell he was trying hard to keep his cool demeanor despite the current situation. “Well, uh…it is kind of hard to concentrate when you are…right here in front of me like this.”
“Oh, so you do want me then?” You gave him a mischievous smile. “Well, if you really want my help so badly, then I suggest you seduce me as repayment. If you do it properly, I might even consider teaching you a thing or two about the art of seduction. What do you say?”
Michael stared at you for a few seconds before he finally nodded shyly, yet with a hint of threat in his voice. “Yes, I’ll do it…but if you ever tell anyone about this, I’ll make sure to ruin your reputation.”
You grinned and crossed the space between you two, standing directly in front of him, slipping your fingers through his belt loops. You could feel the tension radiating off his body as he tried to play it cool. You leaned forward slightly and whispered into his ear. “Good boy. Now let's get started...”
Michael gulped audibly as you pulled him closer by his belt loops. He could feel your breath hot against his ear and he shuddered involuntarily. This was not something he was used to, but he couldn't deny how much he wanted it. He had always been a loner, someone who preferred to keep to himself and focus on his studies. But being in your presence made him feel alive in a way that he had never imagined possible.
You could sense his apprehension, but you were not about to let him back out now. You had spent too much time trying to get him to open up to you, and you were not about to let him go that easily. You ran your fingers along his chest, feeling the firm muscles beneath his shirt, and smiled to yourself. This was going to be fun.
You pulled away from him, a coy smile playing on your lips. "So, do you know where to start?" you asked, arching an eyebrow.
Michael shook his head, still a bit dazed from your touch. "No, not really," he replied softly.
You took his hand and led him to the bed, sitting him down beside you. You could feel the heat emanating from him, and you knew that he was just as affected by your closeness as you were. You leaned in closer, feeling his breath hot against your face. "Let's start with a kiss," you whispered, your lips brushing against his.
Michael closed his eyes and leaned in, his lips meeting yours in a soft, tentative kiss. You could feel his hands shaking as he pulled you closer, deepening the kiss.
"N-not bad, not bad at all," you mumbled, breathing heavily.
You could feel his hot breath against your neck as he moved in for another kiss. He wasn't being very forward, but he wasn't too shy either. It was a good beginning, but he needed to do more if he wanted to win.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer to you. "Did you lock the door?" you asked, closing your eyes and enjoying the feeling of his lips on your neck.
"On it," he replied, quickly getting up and locking the door.
You smirked and pulled him closer, hands moving to caress his chest. "Good boy," you muttered, purring in delight as he kissed along your neck.
He got the hint and quickly moved to kiss your lips once more, a bit more rougher this time. You were no stranger to this. You had played with a few men before, and you knew exactly what they liked.
"Now this is the stuff," you thought to yourself as he continued to kiss you, wrapping your arms around his neck.
His fingers gently moved past your hair, playing with it as he enjoyed the kiss. It felt nice, but you sensed he wanted to do more. You pulled away, looking at him with a mischievous smile. "Do you want to be more forceful?" you asked.
He nodded, biting his lip as he looked into your eyes. "Y-yes," he stammered, and you could tell he was getting harder with each second that passed.
You could feel him harden against your leg, and you grinned. "Mh, you are eager, aren't you? Well, would you want to take off some of my clothes?"
He nodded again. "Yes, I think I can manage that," he replied, his fingers already working on the buttons of your shirt.
You let him take off the shirt, admiring the view. You didn't dress for anything - after all, you just thought you'd study a bit, yet it seemed like it didn't matter to him at all; his eyes widened at the sight of your tits.
"Now the skirt," you said, unzipping the skirt and stepping out of it.
Michael undid your bra and pulled off your skirt, leaving you in a simple black thong. You could feel his fingers trembling as he pulled it down, your womanhood becoming evident. You could tell he was nervous and shy, but he was enjoying this just as much as you were.
You let him admire your womanhood for a few moments before you pulled away and grabbed his hands, placing them on your chest. "Here, touch me," you breathed in his ear, biting his earlobe.
He nodded and began massaging you, his fingers moving all over your chest. You pushed him down onto the bed, straddling him. You could feel his eyes on you as you grinded against his erection, a grin spreading across your face. "Having fun?" you asked playfully.
He replied with a deep kiss, his hands moving to grab your ass. You let out a cry of surprise as he did it, but you couldn't help but like it. You moved your hips against his, moaning softly.
"Y-yes," he stammered, his fingers digging into your skin as he tried to keep his cool. His hands moved over your ass, gently massaging your body. He was enjoying this, but he wasn't the kind of man to just sit back and let you have all the fun. He pulled you off him, flipping you over and pinning you beneath him.
"O-oh?" you muttered, smiling slightly. You had never been on the submissive end before, but it was evident that he had enough of you toying with him - you had given him enough confidence to take the upper hand and you enjoyed it thoroughly.
He kissed your lips again, only to move to one of your nipples. He kissed around it, teasing you. His fingers traced ever so lightly over your skin, feeling every inch of you. He was enjoying the feeling of your skin beneath his fingers, and you enjoyed it too.
You ran your fingers through his hair, moaning in delight as he kissed your breasts. "Oh...that feels good..." he muttered breathlessly.
His lips began kissing lower and lower, until you felt his lips against your stomach. He wasn't going to stop there, you knew that much. You bit your lip and prepared yourself for what was to come. He smiled to himself, enjoying the view. He kissed your thighs, and then he moved in closer.
His tongue brushed against your pussy, tasting your womanhood. He moaned softly as he moved in deeper, tasting the juices of your womanhood. His tongue began moving in perfect harmony, he was enjoying every moment of it. You could tell that he was enjoying himself, and that made you moan even louder.
"M-Michael..." you moaned loudly, grabbing a hold of the sheets beneath you as you began shaking. He had just begun, but you were already on the edge. He moved in faster, his tongue working wonders against your womanhood. Each flick of his tongue sent shivers down your spine, and you were already in a daze. You moved your hips against his tongue, wanting him to go deeper and faster. "Ohh...M-Michael..."
He moaned as you called his name, and you could feel him quickly coming up again, positioning himself aganist your entrance. "D'you want me... raw?"
You didn't need to answer, you didn't want to and most importantly you didn't care. He slowly began sliding into you, his cock filling up every inch of you as he slowly began thrusting. He moaned quietly against as he began moving in and out of you, his cock sliding in smoothly.
"M-Michael..." you muttered, tilting your head back in pleasure. You had never felt something this good before. He was so big, filling up your womanhood. His cock pushed deeper into you, and with each thrust he made you moan louder and louder.
"A-ah..." you moaned, biting your lip as he thrust faster. He was taking no time at all to push every inch of his cock into you, and you loved every second of it. You could feel his cock thrust in farther, hitting against your deepest places. You could feel his cock throbbing inside of you, enjoying the tight walls surrounding him and you could feel your pussy tighten around him. You knew exactly what this meant.
"O-ohh...I'm-I... fuck," he moaned loudly, his cock twitching within you. He let out a loud moan, pushing himself deep into you before he pulled out, cumming all over your lower body. His hot cum sprayed out over your skin, and you loved it. He leaned forward, his cock still throbbing above your body.  You could feel his heart beat through his cock against your skin, and you could tell just how hard it was for him to hold that back.
He finally leaned down, panting against your neck. "I-I... hope that should be enough for you to help me with my assignment."
You smiled, pulling him closer and hugging him tightly. "Mh..." you replied, leaning up to kiss his forehead. "You did exactly as I asked, I think I'll be able to help you now."
He smiled in delight. "Great! D'you think you could help me tomorrow too?"
You nodded. "I'm pretty much available to help you as much as you'd like," you said.
He smiled, bringing his hands up to your face and gently caressing it. "I... thank you. I'll make sure to get you ready for your statistics exams," he muttered before he leaned in to kiss your lips softly.

As a sophomore student studying Mathematics and Statistics, my academic journey has been both challenging and rewarding. I have always had a deep appreciation for problem-solving and logic, which is what drew me to these fields in the first place. In high school, I excelled in subjects that required analytical thinking, and as I transitioned to university, I realized that Math and Stats were where I truly belonged.The first year of my studies was a whirlwind. I was introduced to a wide range of topics, from calculus to probability, and though the coursework was demanding, I found myself captivated by the way abstract concepts could be applied to real-world problems. The foundation I built in my freshman year helped me understand the theoretical aspects of mathematics while giving me the tools to approach complex problems with a statistical mindset.Now, as a sophomore, I find myself diving deeper into more specialized areas, like linear algebra, statistical inference, and multivariable calculus. The material is more advanced, but my passion for these subjects has only grown. I've learned that the beauty of mathematics lies not just in finding answers, but in the process of discovery and critical thinking. Statistics, on the other hand, has shown me the power of data and its ability to reveal hidden patterns that can inform decisions and predictions.Being a sophomore means I’m beginning to connect the dots between different concepts and developing a more holistic understanding of my field. While there are still tough days when the formulas seem to blur together or the numbers don’t add up, the excitement of uncovering the solutions keeps me going. The support of professors and classmates makes a huge difference, and I feel more confident in tackling the challenges ahead.I’m looking forward to the rest of my time in this program, knowing that with each year, I’m growing closer to achieving my goals and perhaps even making my mark in the world of mathematics and statistics. Every lecture, every assignment, and every project is a stepping stone toward building the future I dream of.

Hiya lovely, do you have any wisdom for someone struggling to study? I've been out of school for 3 years due to illness (in my formative learning years) and now I'm gearing up for university with absolutely no study skills, low energy and a whole lot of insecurity around it. I have always been intelligent enough to learn quickly but there's a barrier I'm just not getting through, possibly due to the latent effects of the damage.
I have high expectations for myself and I want to model myself off of your brand! Thank you very kindly in advance <3
Hi love! It sounds like you're in a difficult situation, especially for someone in their teens. My heart goes out to you for overcoming this and going after a university degree. This ambition and dedication takes a considerable amount of mental fortitude and strength, so please remember that. I'm flattered by your kind words <3
Here are some of my study tips to help you maintain your stamina and focus:
When in doubt, make everything into an itemized list (topics, timelines, organizing by subtopic, key facts/people/dates surrounding a significant event, concept, theory, or ideology, cause and effect, problem and solution, etc.)
Use real-life analogies and applications as often as possible to retain information (e.g. to remember acronyms, propositions through the "box" metaphor, etc.)
Reframe long-winded information into an ongoing narrative. Humans are better at retelling stories than retaining/regurgitating a laundry list of facts or statistics
Organize your study sessions to each focus on one main topic, concept, or chapter
Create a timeline for all your assignments. Plan in advance to work on projects in milestones rather than all at once
Utilize time-blocking to pace yourself through the information (e.g. devote 30 minutes to one task or an hour to studying a specific concept; take a fully unplugged break before resuming work or another study session). Use a countdown timer if you think it would be helpful for you – everyone is different
Prioritize rest, even if it sounds counterintuitive at first. You're most productive and focused when your mind is well-rested enough to achieve and maintain peak performance. Efficiency is more important than time spent on a task – the former is what makes all of the difference (and leads to a more well-rounded, fulfilling life, too)
Discover motivating playlists that keep you on task. I love the ones for ADHD from Jason Lewis - Mind Amend on YouTube (I'm listening to one now, lol). Coffee or caffeinated tea can also help your energy to power through a study session, just don't overdo it
Focus on one task, page, or concept at a time. Don't let the entirety of a project or the volume of your overall workload overwhelm you. Just focus & prioritize what's in front of you. Take one step closer to your goals every day. Perfectionism is the most stifling barrier to progress and long-term success. Remember that
You got this! Hope this helps xx

Chapter 7: Distractions
Osaki Shotaro x Reader
Word Count: 1,764 Genre: Angst, University AU Rating: Some adult themes. MINORS DNI!
Summary: Y/N and Shotaro both deal with negative feelings about their argument the night before by seeking comfort from other people.
Content Warnings: Alcohol use, Shotaro is kind of using Chaewon, Reader kind of uses Sungchan, unhealthy coping mechanisms, mentions of sex but no smut. If you think I missed a warning, please let me know! A/N: If you would like to be tagged in the next update, you can either leave a comment on any chapter or the masterlist, send me an ask, or send me a dm! The previous 6 chapters can be found in the "All I Wanted" masterlist, which is linked here.
Fic is under the cut.
The day after Jaemin’s party, you considered staying home instead of going to your classes. You were devastated by your fight with Shotaro the night before, both because you felt guilty about the things you’d said and because you knew that he would probably never want to speak to you again. You’d never hear the end of it from your parents if you started skipping your classes and it affected your grades, though, so off you went.
When you got to your statistics class, you really wanted to try to sit somewhere different. Every seat except for the one next to Shotaro was taken, though, because of course it was. However, sitting next to him didn’t mean that you had to actually talk to him, so you didn’t say a word. Not talking to him hurt you, but you figured that he probably wouldn’t want you to.
Once class began, Ms. Kim explained, “Before we continue, I want to talk to you all about a research paper that I’m assigning. Each of you will need to choose a company that uses probability in its decision making. Then, you’ll need to write a paper about how the business uses probability. You’ll have three weeks to complete this assignment. More details and places to find information will be sent in an email by the end of the day.”
When class ended, Shotaro considered trying to talk to you. Then, he remembered the things that you’d said to him the night before. He missed your friendship, but your words hurt him in a way that he’d never expected from you. In the end, he figured that it was best for the two of you not to talk.
Since he really didn’t want to think about you, he decided to try to do something fun in between his classes. He really didn’t want to be alone, though, so he decided to call Wonbin. When he didn’t answer, Shotaro sent a text that said, “Hey. Just wanted to see if you wanted to grab lunch or something?”
Wonbin replied to the text almost immediately, saying, “Sorry, I can’t. Hanging out with Karina right now. Maybe another time?”
“Yeah, of course. Sorry to bug you,” Shotaro texted back.
Wonbin didn’t respond to any texts after that, and Shotaro continued wandering around campus in an attempt to get his mind off of you. In his travels, he ran into none other than Chaewon. He’d also been desperately trying to avoid her since Jaemin’s party, but in the end, he decided he’d rather talk to her than you. So, he gave her a smile and asked, “Hey, Chae, how are you today?”
“Hey, ‘Taro! My environmental science class is kicking my ass, but other than that, I’m actually in a fairly good mood! How are you?” Chaewon replied.
“I’m doing ok, thanks. Would you like to get lunch with me?”
“That sounds great. I just need to let Yunjin know that I’m gonna be getting to her house later than I originally planned,” Chaewon chirped before walking away.
While Shotaro waited for Chaewon to come back, he couldn’t help but think about you. He wondered what you were going to do for the research paper that was assigned and what your score was going to be when the project ended. A small part of him couldn’t help but hope that you would do poorly on the assignment. Originally, he just wanted to prove that he was smart enough to keep up with you. After last night, though, he decided that he really wanted to prove that he was smart enough to get a better grade than you, at least in the class that the two of you shared.
Shotaro quickly found himself regretting asking Chaewon to get food with him. Still, he made a conscious effort to look like he was happy to see his ex, smiling and hugging her when she came back to where he stood waiting for her. When she let go, he asked, “So, where do you wanna go?”
“Anywhere is fine with me.”
“How about the café that’s across the street from your apartment?”
“That sounds great,” Chaewon said with a grin.
As you made your way to your car, planning to go home for a bit before your next class started, you saw Shotaro walking across the parking lot with the same girl that you’d seen him talking to at Jaemin’s party. You were pretty sure he said that her name was Chaewon, but you didn’t really care. All you cared about was the smile on Shotaro’s face as he held hands with the girl that he’d told you he had no interest in. Just like you thought last night, he was full of shit.
In a moment that you’d probably regret later, you decided to try to track down Sungchan. You hadn’t gotten any of his contact information at the party, but you were certain that you could find him somewhere on campus. You ended up finding him sitting on a bench near the parking lot, sipping a coffee and looking at his phone. You tried desperately not to let your nerves show as you walked up to him and said, “Hi. Sungchan, right?”
“Yeah. You’re (Y/N), right? I think I remember dancing with you at Jaemin’s party last night.”
“Yeah, we did dance for a bit. Sorry I left so abruptly last night. Some stuff came up.”
“That’s ok, gorgeous. I’m just happy that I got to see you again.”
You smiled and asked, “Would you like to go hang out at the park? I have a bit of time to kill before my next class, and I’d really like to spend it with you.”
“That sounds great. I’ll meet you there?”
“Works for me.”
You and Sungchan walked to your cars together, getting to know each other better as the two of you talked. The more you talked to him, the more you found yourself forgetting about Shotaro, which you were incredibly grateful for. As you drove to the park, the only thing you thought about was whether you would want a relationship with Sungchan. In the end, you figured that it would probably depend on how your time at the park went.
Your date at the park with Sungchan went much better than you thought it would. He was kind, attentive, and funny, not to mention incredibly attractive. Every cheesy joke that he told made you feel weak in the knees, and when he told you more about what he was studying, the obvious passion that he had only made you want him more. By the end of your date, you could definitely see yourself spending more time with him.
The more Sungchan talked to you, the more he thought about how badly he wanted a deeper connection with you. Sure, a lot of the things you talked about wouldn’t typically keep his attention, but he found that he did actually care about stuff like the history of horror movies when you were the one explaining it to him. You also really seemed to care about the things that he had to say, which was greatly appreciated. It was a refreshing change of pace from his last relationship.
Before you and Sungchan left the park to go about the rest of your plans for the day, you made sure to exchange numbers so that you could talk more. Once that was done, he walked you back to your car before getting into his own. You appreciated the time with him, but as you watched him drive off, your thoughts once again drifted back to Shotaro. Not wanting to ruin the rest of your day with unpleasant thoughts, you decided to call Karina and ask her if she wanted to get shitfaced after classes as yet another distraction. She readily agreed, and you discussed when you wanted to leave. Then, you went back to campus for your afternoon classes.
The rest of your classes went by quickly, and once they were done, you went back home to get ready for your night of fun with Karina. If it wasn’t sitting in the basket with the rest of your dirty laundry, you would have considered wearing the dress you’d worn to Jaemin’s party. Instead, however, you opted for a much more casual look: a tee shirt decorated with the logo of a band you used to be obsessed with and black jeans. Sure, it was a simple outfit, but you still thought that you looked sexy in it. So, off you went to your favorite bar.
The last person that you expected to see at the bar was Wonbin. He was right by the door when you and Karina arrived, however, and your friend was clearly happy to see him. Pretty much immediately, Karina abandoned you in favor of spending time with Wonbin. You wanted to be annoyed, but when you saw the way she looked at him, you couldn’t really be upset. You were really bored, though, so you decided to try to find something, or someone, to do.
While you were on your way to the dance floor, you ran into none other than Sungchan. The two of you made eye contact, and he said, “Fancy seeing you here. Are you here alone?”
“Yeah. I came with a friend, but she ditched me when we ran into the guy she’s been talking to.”
“I would say I’m sorry to hear that, but if it means I get to spend the night with you instead, I’m really not.”
You had to admit that you were surprised by Sungchan’s boldness, but you did enjoy the attention that he was giving you. So, in response to his shameless attempt at flirting, you asked, “Who said you would get to spend the night with me?”
“I mean, we’re here at the same time, aren’t we? Why not spend the night together?”
“That’s a good point.”
Sungchan smiled and wrapped his arms around your waist before starting to dance. You moved in time with each other while a shitty pop song played over the bar’s speakers, and for a little while, nothing else in the world mattered. Shotaro didn’t matter, your statistics paper didn’t matter, not even the fights you’d been having with your parents mattered. All you had to worry about was not accidentally stepping on Sungchan’s toes as you danced with him. A night free of stress was all you wanted when you called Karina, and thanks to Sungchan, that was exactly what you got.

Hey Hey! Just wondering, how would the Rise Turtles (or just Donnie if you're not feeling up to doing all of them) react to catching a S/O singing alone in the kitchen for the first time? Like they're actually really good but maybe they're a bit shy at first about singing in front of someone? I love to sing and have vocal training but I need encouraging.
Note: I low key high key am planning on doing this for all four turtles but Don was first (it’s all a tentative plan tho). I totally get the whole being shy in front of people thing, so I hope this helps and I’m sure you have a powerful voice :)
Warnings: None
Word count: 1.4k
~~~~~
With his arms up in the air, Donnie stretched his shell as he sat up from his previously hunched over position. When you sit at your desk performing numerous computer tasks for four hours straight, you tend to let your back hunch. He let out a sigh when his back gave a few satisfying pops and lowered his arms to look around.
His eyes scanned his lab. The lights were dim, his EDM music playing through his speakers, and the seat you once occupied empty. You had said something about homework and needed to get an assignment done and that the lab was usually a good environment to work. Donnie gave a smug smile when you said that, “Of course it is, Y/N. It is a state of the art work environment to fully allow one to achieve an 84.6% higher success rate for their goal.” He was boasting and using limited data points, he knew, but your smile when he invited you to work in his lab was enough to push him to that point.
He loved your smile.
You had left at some point after he turned on his thinking music, grabbing your stuff and telling him you’d be in the kitchen, where you’d most likely be able to focus a little better. He would have argued but you were already gone when he had finished the line of code he was working on. How could you not like his preferred thinking music that usually drove him to a higher success rate on big projects? He’d have to fix the statistic.
Donnie closed up his lab quickly, turning off his music, monitors, and lights before exiting the room. The pitter patter of his bare feet against the concrete of the Lair was usually enough to warn you that one of the turtles was nearing you. However, you seemed to be preoccupied. He peaked his head into the kitchen to see you sitting at the island. Your head was bopping to music being played through some over the ear headphones he had made you one birthday.
What could you possibly be listening to that is making you work more efficiently than his proven EDM music? He had done research and studies to show positive affects of working to EDM music (again, on very limited subjects and with very limited data points, but you didn’t need to know that)!
That’s when he heard your voice begin from your spot on the stool with your fingers frozen over your laptop.
“With more faith in God, I would tell you that this was the rapture
And we’ve been left behind
Why are we so young with tired, sunken, baggy eyes?”
Donatello stood in the doorway of the kitchen dumbfounded. In all your years of knowing each other, you had never once mentioned that you can sing. Were you embarrassed? Were you shy? Why didn’t you want him to know?
These thoughts stayed swarming around Donnie’s head as he stood frozen in the doorway. You probably assumed no one was in the kitchen. The rest of the Hamato brothers were out getting pizza and Splinter was watching his soap opera on the big projector, so it was a very plausible assumption to make, he concluded. His thoughts seemed to stop when you continued to sing the next part of the verse.
“So I’ll give myself a name, something stupid and pretentious
Like Mawce spelled with a C
And I’ll hope all the cool kids who graduated but stayed judgmental will finally accept me.”
Donnie’s eyes were glued to your form, eyes closed, chin tilted slightly upward. With each line, your head moved slightly, adding more emotion for the seemingly invisible audience of your one person show. Your fingers had curled up into fists and your eyebrows furrowed upward. Donnie found it hard to look away from you, so in your element with beautiful vocals.
“And I might be flying home today, but I’m not going home
’Cuz everything I thought I knew has proven to be wrong.
And I’m desperate to the point of flying straight into the over drinking nights that leave you feeling torn.
And I’m leaving,
I’m leaving for New York.”
He admired your inflections, the way your voice would grow then shrink in on itself to tell a story. He took note of the vibrato that made your voice almost sound like it was shaking. Your voice was so strong and so passionate. Why didn’t you sing more often? So many questions with no answers yet.
The words left Donnie’s mouth before he even had the chance to stop them. “It seems pretty redundant to leave for New York when you already live in New York.” He crossed his arms to lean against the doorway, an uninterested look in his eye. He couldn’t let go of his bad boy persona now.
You let out a small scream that made him flinch as you whipped your head around to face him. In the rush, you pulled down the bulky headphones so they rested on your neck. Heat rushed to your cheeks as soon as you heard his voice out of embarrassment. With wide eyes, you simply stared at him, mouth agape in horror as you realized what he heard. Maybe he wasn’t there for all of it? You began to move your mouth to ask when he spoke up again.
With his arms still crossed, he moved himself nonchalantly to make his lean against the doorframe more comfortable. “And before you ask, since ‘With more faith in God,’” he answered your nonverbal question so calmly it almost made you combust on the spot.
“So pretty much the whole time, huh?” Your voice came out in a squeak a few octaves higher than normal. Your eyes were still the size of saucers. You probably looked like a dear in headlights.
“Yeah,” he answered, plain and simple.
You turned back to your computer, hands still in fists from embarrassment. Through your headphones, you were still able to hear the muffled guitar and voice. You felt hot and tense, and you knew you looked on edge, too. But when Donnie placed a hand on your shoulder, you relaxed slightly.
“I think you sound nice,” he peaked over your shoulder to look at what you were working on. You had already submitted the assignment twelve minutes ago. He’s going to have to fix that statistic.
You dropped your head down into your hands. “Oh my gosh…” Your embarrassment showed through your voice.
“You do!” Donnie’s hand slid across your shoulder to your upper back to try and calm you down. “The crescendos, the vibrato. Oh! Your tone! Why didn’t tell us you sing?”
You lifted your head up from your hands to look at Donnie, a mixture of shock and confusion on your features. “Since when did you know so much about music?”
“Ah, ah, ah, dearest, Y/N. I’m the one asking the questions here.” Donnie immediately shot you down with a pointed finger. You frowned at him with a furrowed brow.
You sighed loudly, pulling away from Donnie’s touch. “I don’t know. I’m just- I don’t know it’s embarrassing? I’m.. a nervous wreck when it comes to singing in front of people? It’s terrifying, people judge.” You let it all out in a word vomit. Your whole body felt warm and tingly from your sudden sharing of feelings. Donnie’s eyes widened slightly obviously taken aback from your vulnerability. You turned your head back to your laptop screen and threw your head in your hands again.
To the side, Donnie stood tall and eyed your cowering form. “Well, based off of my observations, I can say that, without a doubt, you have a wonderful voice and your technique is near perfect.” You let out a soft sigh as you felt his lips against the side of your head to plant a kiss. “No need to be embarrassed, my love. How about we get some pizza?” He smiled warmly down at you as you turned to face him again.
His eyes, which were usually full of disdain for his brothers, were now full of love for you. You felt a smile break through and grow across your face. The smile he loved so much.
“Sure.” You nodded as you closed your laptop and stood up from the stool. Before you began packing your items, you pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, earning you a small gasp from the tall terrapin. “I love ya, Don,” you said as you shoved all of your loose items into your bag.
He chuckled as he watched you grab your stuff and face him. “How could you not-“ He was cut off by you elbowing his side. “I mean, I love you, too,” he chuckled out.
“I know.”
“Good.”With his arms up in the air, Donnie stretched his shell as he sat up from his previously hunched over position. When you sit at your desk performing numerous computer tasks for four hours straight, you tend to let your back hunch. He let out a sigh when his back gave a few satisfying pops and lowered his arms to look around.
How about we get some pizza?” He smiled warmly down at you as you turned to face him again.
His eyes, which were usually full of disdain for his brothers, were now full of love for you. You felt a smile break through and grow across your face. The smile he loved so much.
“Sure.” You nodded as you closed your laptop and stood up from the stool. Before you began packing your items, you pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, earning you a small gasp from the tall terrapin. “I love ya, Don,” you said as you shoved all of your loose items into your bag.
He chuckled as he watched you grab your stuff and face him. “How could you not-“ He was cut off by you elbowing his side. “I mean, I love you, too,” he chuckled out.
“I know.”
“Good.”
Agent 666
Mystic Messenger
707/Seven x F!Agent!Reader
WIP | Summary : Beloved Agent 707 is struggling to finish his case assignment on time, so he approaches his rival for help!
Alternative Title : Make A Joke
“This is impossible.”
Seven had finally hit a brick wall. In all his years of hacking and infiltration, he had never come across something that had stumped him this hard. He was seriously beginning to question his abilities at this stage as he stared at the coded screen in despair.
How many days did he have left to gather the information he needed? Seven checked the assignment log that rested on his desk, and he felt the colour physically drain from his face.
One day.
Seven couldn’t prevent himself from dropping his head forwards onto the desk. His forehead slammed into the keyboard, causing a bunch of error codes to fly up on the screen. The young teen groaned in pain before sitting up straight again, rubbing his hand tenderly at the spot where a mark had appeared.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Seven peeked around the room to check if anyone had witnessed his moment of weakness. Luckily, everyone seemed too focused on their own tasks to notice the awkward reaction from Seven.
And that’s when he accidentally locked eyes with Agent 666 from across the room. She had glanced up from her computer at that very moment, as if she had somehow known that Seven was going to look at her. Seven felt his face burn a bright red and he instantly looked away. If this were a cartoon, Seven was sure steam would be blowing from his ears.
Agent 666 had joined the agency three months prior. Already she had taken the Intelligence Agency by storm, impressing all the superiors with her talents for the hacking world. She joined multiple projects and brought statistics up fast, just like Seven had done when he joined a couple years prior.
Seven wasn’t jealous. No, he wasn’t jealous at all. Why would Seven be jealous of another agent’s achievements? It didn’t make sense to be. But, Seven couldn’t help but constantly check on Agent 666’s progress, knowing that she was always busy and swamped with work, just to see how she coped with the pressure of it all.
Would Agent 666 crumble under the pressure of this assignment?
Seven involuntarily groaned aloud at the very thought. He tilted his head back and shot a small glare of frustration at the air vents in the ceiling, wanting to blame something for his difficulty in completing this case. Truthfully, there wasn’t anyone else to blame but himself—clearly he wasn’t as good as he thought himself to be.
‘I need help…’ Seven thought, finally admitting defeat on himself. ‘Maybe I should speak with Vanderwood about this?’
But that seemed like a stupid idea. Agent Vanderwood loved to tease Seven at any given opportunity. He was an annoying pest that always hovered over his shoulder to check his progress, and he always had some sort of smart ass comment to make. If Seven were to admit to Vanderwood that he was struggling, Vanderwood would no doubt make his life a living hell with jokes.
Though, who else could Seven request help from? The senior agents were far too intimidating to approach, and they sometimes had a snarky attitude when it came to Seven due to his age. They would also think less of Seven if they heard him asking for help on a case that they found tricky. Seven didn’t want that.
Then, an idea came to mind.
‘Would Agent 666 be willing to help me?’
There hadn’t been many conversations between Seven and Agent 666. It wasn’t that Seven didn’t have the chance to speak with her, but rather the fact that he didn’t know what to speak about with her. She was very reserved and kept herself distant from everyone; she had yet to smile or laugh, and she just seemed plain miserable despite being an expert at her job. Seven knew he could relate with Agent 666 somewhat, especially seeing as they were both of the same age, but how was he supposed to strike up a conversation?
Seven pushed aside his doubts and opened a private messaging system between himself and Agent 666. It only took a few minutes to do, but it would be effective and could easily maintain his dignity in case she rejected his request. If that were the case, Seven could easily destroy all evidence of him even asking.
707 : i have a question
Seven nervously leaned back from the monitor and began playing with his hands. He watched eagerly for a message to appear, and he nearly fell out of his chair with excitement as a response appeared.
666 : what’s your question?
707 : I’m struggling with my assignment. I can’t infiltrate the system properly without being located. Are you able to take a look?
666 : …
Seven held his breath.
Would she reject him?
666 : okay.
Seven couldn’t help but grin widely as he began sending over the details for Agent 666 to look at. As soon as he hit send, he discreetly glanced over his shoulder to gauge her reaction, and he was in awe to see how focused she appeared while reading the uploaded documents.
30 minutes later, Agent 666 replied to the private log again.
666 : the code is *** ** ***** * ***. you’ll have less than 5 minutes to retrieve the information before the server resets and kicks you out. the algorithm changes every 15 minutes.
Seven clapped his hands together and wasted no time in diving back into the assignment. He typed as fast as his fingers would allow him to, and only briefly stopped to adjust his headphones back onto his head. Once into the server, Seven began downloading files from every section possible, ensuring that nothing was left untouched.
The last file finished downloading before the server became corrupted and forced Seven out. However, Seven was deeply satisfied and set to immediate work in decrypting the files he had stolen. Within 15 minutes, Seven had required all the information, plus extras, to complete his assignment. Everything was sent over to his supervisor, and if it could be wrapped in a neat little bow then that’s what Seven would have done.
707 : thanks for your help, I really appreciate it
666 : it’s no problem… I was surprised that you even asked for my help to begin with, I thought it was a joke
A joke? Seven frowned.
707 : jokes can cost us our lives here, I would never joke about something so dangerously important
666 : I see… then would I perish if I made a joke now?
707 : what joke is it?
666 : well…
666 : they call you the God of hacking…
666 : … so I must be the Devil
666 : 😈
Seven felt the corners of his lips twitch upwards into a smile. He chuckled humorously. Seven turned his head in Agent 666’s direction, and he smiled even wider upon seeing that she was already looking back at him. She gave a small, shy wave, which encouraged Seven to wave back in a similar manner.
God, why was his heart beating so fast? Seven concluded that it must have been the adrenaline rush from completing the assignment on time. He was cutting the deadline rather close, after all.
707 : haha, you’re funny 😁
