Neal Shaara needs a new code name; the Thunderbird name makes sense for John Proudstar (& James for a bit) cause it ties to their culture as Native people.

By referring to Neal Shaara (an Indian man) as Thunderbird (when that has no part in Indian culture at all), they're basically conflating Indian culture w/ Indigenous culture (after generations of Native Americans being wrongly referred to as "Indians").

(Note: There was a time Neal Shaara was gonna be called Agni, named for an Indian deity of fire, iirc; it's not the name I'd prefer for him, feels a bit too on-the-nose, but at least it would have made much more sense irt both his culture & his powers.)

The mutants of Krakoa are sent on their mission to investigate who is behind the terrorist attack and they help the survivors of the bombed city. Also, they fend off the Watchdogs who are harassing the mutants and survivors.

The mutants who do things in this comic are...

Storm disperses the biotoxic gas in the air and she helps out in fending off the Watchdogs. She also creates an oxygen-rich bubble environment to enhance Triage's healing powers.

Cyclops and Monet St Croix do most of the fighting in fending off the Watchdogs who are harassing the mutants.

Bishop helps out the survivors as well as fending off the Watchdogs.

Cerebra and Tempo analyze the skull and they found out that the skull belonged to a young mutant who was kidnapped and used as a living weapon by Orchis.

Thunderbird frees the trapped man inside the car, he also knows that the Heritage Foundation might have something to do with the X-Gene used to create the exploding mutant so he informs the CSI team that they were buying native X-Genes.

Iceman creates ice bowls for the dogs to drink water out of. He also uses his ice golems to do CPA stuff in the office, helping the town prepare for upcoming bureaucratic and budgetary battles.

Triage works to heal the critically injured and notes that half the town is sick or infectious due to the "dirty bomb" explosion.

Tag's powers are great for evacuation and he "tags" destroyed cars and buildings to help people escape them, while Karma telepathically guides people out of complexes.

Angel helps out in not only taking the trapped survivors out of the window from the building, he also helps out Cyclops, Monet, Bishop, Jean Grey and Bishop in fending off the Watchdogs.

Jean Grey ends up her telekinesis levitating most of the Watchdogs and after reading their minds realizes they're not part of the false flag operation. They actually believe mutants are responsible for the attack. She gets them out of the way and has them "chasing their own tails." Jean Grey also rebuilds people's homes using their memories as blueprints.

Somnus keeps the wounded but stable victims dreaming comfortably as they rest.

Thumbelina uses her shrinking powers to perform microsurgeries inside the survivors' bodies.

Wicked the Genoshan mutant connects the deceased with their loved ones as grief counseling. Bishop notes that without backups of these people the Phoenix Foundation can't bring them back.

Icarus singing local tunes to lift the hearts of the victims.

Escapade switching places with trapped people as she seems good at escaping.

Crave the random mutant eats the contents of biohazard bags that have been collected, neutralizing them. He also finds them delicious.

Northstar and Aurora light up the night sky.

Sanjar Javeed (Horseman Death from Remender's Uncanny X-Force) boosts the immune systems of the most vulnerable.

Brutha Nature grows air-scrubbing flora all over town.

Alchemist (Sudi Abadi) purifies the contaminated water.

Theia also helps to reassemble the streets, businesses, etc.

Greycrow cooks a massive pot of seafood boil while Madrox fills and passes out bowls.

Eye-Scream the obscure mutant makes ice cream for the children.

Hindsight uses his telemetry to do more investigations.

I don’t have an offical timeline posted as yet (though I have an informal one as all writers do lol), but I do have this post that is my fic masterlist, which has the chronology for my posted works so far.

If you were also after approximate ages for the main offspring, this is their information as of March/April 2058, which is when The Bound Series takes place.

The 1958–1960 Lincolns and Lincoln Continentals were the most massive American passenger cars produced since World War II, as they were built on a 131-inch wheelbase and had an overall length of 229 inches. The Mark III Convertible tips the scales at an impressive 4,928 pounds, and only 3,048 were produced.

The design is typically credited to John Najjar, although a junior designer named Larry Shinoda, later famed for his work on the 1963 Corvette Stingray, contributed to the design. The Lincolns were built at Ford Motor Company’s Wixom, Michigan, plant, together with the second-generation Thunderbirds, and they were Ford Motor Company’s first unibody automobiles.

[Summary]:“What the fuck’s she doing here?” Zhanna almost spat as you rubbed her arm while looking up at Tara before turning back to Zhanna. “Sh–she just gave me a ride. That’s all.”

A/N: oh, I wanna write for CC so badddddd (from Emma's new movie)

The next day, you woke up -and Tara, too- to the sound of your phone ringing. You sat up and looked at your phone.

Zhanna.

You rubbed your left eye with one of your hands to get rid of the sleepiness then answered the phone. “Yes?”

“Y/N! Oh thank god, you picked it up!”Zhanna’z voice was shaky as she spoke which immediately made you stand up from your bed- making Tara alert as she silently watched you- and furrow your eyebrows.

“Zhanna? Is everything alright?”

“No! Yes…I don’t know..” She sounded like she was on the verge of tears and you clenched your jaw.

“What happened?”

“I-I..” You could hear she took a deep breath before continuing.” Bao…an-and Andrei. Th-they got into a car accident this morning. “You felt your chest tighten upon hearing her words. “An-and I’M in the hospital right now. They told me..they. “She let out a sob and you swallowed before springing into  action and rushing to get your coat and boots as Tara got up, too. 

“It’s okay, Z. Just calm down and continue.”

“They told me that Bao is in surgery as well as A-andrei. Y/N, I–I can’t do this. I can’t lose them.” Your eyes welled with tears as one of your shaky hands went to open the door.

“Al-,,god, alright, Z. I’ll- I’ll be right there, okay? Just hold on.” You tried assuring her, but your own voice betrayed you.

And that's when Tara spoke up. “Y/n…..” You looked up from the doorknob. “You know you can’t drive in a state like this. Come on, I’ll give you a ride.” She said, walking over to you, now fully dressed.

You bit your lip, hesitating before you heard Zhanna’s loud sobs from the other line and slowly nodded, going right after Tara as she opened the door and started walking out of the building.

Once outside, you felt yourself shiver as the cold winter breeze hit you as you rushed towards Tara’s Ford Thunderbird with Zhanna still on the line.

You and Tara got in and the moment the car was out of the parking lot, Tara sped across roads to get to the closest hospital.

You pushed the doors of the Lenox Hill Hospital, immediately looking around for Zhanna while Tara followed behind you. You sighed shakily before sailing Zhanna’s number once more. After a few seconds, she picked up.

“Z, where are you?”

“I–I..uhm..I think the-the third floor.” 

“Okay, okay. Just hang on. I’ll be there in a minute.” 

With that you hung up and darted towards the elevator, Tara still hot on your tail. When the doors closed, you slowly glanced at Tara before mumbling a small “Thanks for the ride” to which she nodded.

After about 30 seconds, the elevator stopped and you rushed out of it, running down the corridors until you found a curled up Zhanna on one of the waiting chairs.

“Z” You said quietly before walking up to her and hugging her.

Her body tensed first before she relaxed into your hold and hugged you back. After about two minutes of hugging-and Tara just standing awkwardly-, you pulled away, before Zhanna pulled you down on the chair next to her and sat you down. That”s when she noticed Tara and her soft, crying turned into glaring atTara.

“What the fuck’s she doing here?” Zhanna almost spat as you rubbed her arm while looking up at Tara before turning back to Zhanna. “Sh–she just gave me a ride. That’s all.” 

“It better be just that. I’m not in the mood for her.” You swallowed thickly before glancing up at Tara who was just standing, staring at the floor.

After about an hour and a half, Zhanna was asleep on the waiting chair due to you soothingly rubbing her back for so long. When Tara noticed this, she took the opportunity and sat down next to you, to which your immediate reaction was to scoot away from her. “Just ‘cause you gave me an emergency ride, we are still not on talking terms.” 

Tara sighed heavily.”I’ve told you…I’m sorry.”

You looked at Tara with an almost disgusted face. “Sorry is not going to fucking cut it, Carpenter.”

By the way you looked at her, Tara almost thought about giving up. Giving up on you. Giving up on the two of you. But she won’t.

“I know.” She closed her eyes and turned away from you, tilting her head up to face the ceiling.

“God, I already lost too much.” You mumbled as you looked towards the doors that one of the surgeries were held in.

“I can’t lose you guys, too. I wouldn’t be able to…handle that.”

Tara’s closed eyes filled with tears and a lump was starting to form in her throat upon hearing your words, knowing that she indeed, a part of the ‘too much’.

But if only you knew. If only you knew that you still had her. But you didn’t. And she hated it.

Óen (Part 1)

Okay, I've been egged on repeatedly by the wonderful @idontknowreallywhy to have a go at this, but I'm a little nervous cos I've never written any HTTYD fanfic ever and am a bit short on the canon in my head, so be kind as I make up a pile of stuff as I go along.

This is a Thunderbirds Are Go and How to Train Your Dragon crossover and I'm chewing fingernails..

This little bit is just set up so don't expect much, but I hope you enjoy it. My apologies to Toothless.

Hiccup Haddock III was an idiot.

Toothless, the midnight black night fury he was currently clinging to, no doubt agreed.

“I’m sorry, bud, you were right. We should have gone back earlier.” The words were whipped from his mouth by the raging winds, but as always, Toothless heard him regardless.

A deep rumble in the dragon’s throat, vibrating against Hiccup’s thighs, indicated agreement on all fronts.

Hiccup should have known better. He’d seen the signs of changing weather but had ignored them, convincing himself they had a few moments longer. Unfortunately, said weather had disagreed and whipped up one of those sudden storms that had Berk locked down and huddled away.

Except Hiccup and Toothless were in the middle of the ocean with no protection.

He grit his teeth against the wind, desperately attempting to help Toothless manage their flight. At first, he had tried for home, his dragon friend whacking him with an ear flap in annoyance…always listen to your dragon…but the conditions had changed so abruptly for the worse, that now it was a case of desperately trying to keep aloft and not slammed into the ocean.

They had tried for height, Toothless as always knowing exactly how high they were, in an attempt to get above the storm. But the thunderheads went on forever and they reached as high as Hiccup could go - Toothless could always go higher, but he didn’t seem inclined to do it carrying a frozen friend on his back.

Toothless snarled and then attempted speed, trying to get out of the squall. But Thor had other ideas and along with several lightning strikes that had Hiccup’s hair standing on end, despite the wind and now the sleet, it soon became a struggle to stay in the sky at all, much less attain any directional speed.

And now they were in trouble.

Astrid was going to kill him if he managed to ever see her again.

Dad…

Dad, as always was the reason he was out here in the first place. Just another day where father and son just couldn’t see eye to eye. Another day that found Hiccup fleeing on Toothless and no doubt Stoick the Vast ranting in the smithy with Gobber.

Ice bit into his skin.

Beneath him, Toothless growled in alarm as they were suddenly swept sideways and down.

“Toothless!”

His friend’s wings struggled against the gale, but were snapped back, his growl turning into a wail of pain.

The wind took them and Hiccup could do little but cling to Toothless as they were swept into a dark and violent maelstrom.

It was all sensation after that. Toothless fighting beneath him. Pain. Freezing everything.

Screaming darkness.

This was it. His own stupidity, not listening to his dragon, and forever being fearful of his father and the future. It all had finally done him in.

Hiccup the Idiot.

Saved Berk, but was too stupid to save himself.

A sudden yank upwards against the wind startled him. But before he could react something grabbed him.

What?!

He was lifted from Toothless. A tug as his safety line pulled then fell slack as if snapped. No!

NO!

He struggled but it was too dark and whatever had him, had a solid grip. “Toothless!”

The wind raged but he wasn’t falling. He attempted to fight himself free, but his arms were pinned to his sides and he couldn’t…

“Toothless!”

The wind whipped the name from his mouth.

Toothless was gone. He had to be. His dragon couldn’t fly without him. His thoughts swirled like the wind battering his senses and he clenched his eyes shut in grief. Toothless!

“You’re going to be okay.”

The words were heavily accented and heard mostly through whatever he was held against, and he only heard them because the winds were dying.

The winds were dying.

Hiccup flung his eyes open. He was flying. But not on Toothless. His heart lurched.

He was on another dragon, black and silver danced beneath a dark grey sky. In the distance the sun managed to peek through over a bunch of islands fading into the grey sea.

“Toothless!”

“Óen has your dragon. Don’t be worried.” There was such surety in that voice, Hiccup had to believe.

“Who?”

“Scott o’ Clan O’Treasaigh and Óen. We’re here to rescue you.”

My take on Green Lantern III (Guy Gardner):

Guy Gardner was born to parents Roland and Peggy Gardner in Baltimore. His family moved around a lot (his father was a labourer constantly on the lookout for work), and so Guy Gardner never really had a stable home life. In his first 20 years of life, his family moved from Baltimore to Detroit to Toronto to Vancouver. All over the United States and Canada did his family journey for work. But finally, when guy was around 13, his family settled down in Vancouver. And it's in Vancouver that he would remain.

And besides this constant travelling, guy just never caught a break with his family dynamics. His father was a alcoholic who had a temper and could end up often beating him (either accidentally or intentionally), while his mother was a judgemental hypocrite who hated her husband and often seemed to encourage his worse tendencies. The only member of guy's family that was actually nice to him was his older brother Mace. Both of them pretty much relied upon each other for support in that chaotic household.

Because of this childhood, guy was a very troubled kid. He acted up at school, was opposed to authority figures and generally struggled with the academic parts of school. What kept him going? Well, partially it was his brother's support and encouragement. Part of it was probably a desire to prove himself and make something of himself. But in any case, guy eventually straightened his image and became a good student. (Well, he never did fully lose his hard-headedness and his anger issues. But he did straighten up his image, for the most part).

In a first for his family, guy gets a college/university degree (something his dad, mom and brother never got). He gets a degree in education and psychology from the university of British Columbia. He was also a sports star, playing for the UBC Thunderbirds Hockey team until an injury made him unable to keep playing. The injury really got to him and preyed on his natural insecurity of being unable to make it in this world.

After graduating, guy eventually gets a job as an educational assistant for students with special needs. He finds his work fulfilling, getting to help people and make the world a better place. It makes him feel really happy, for one of the first times in his life.

Guy Gardner is many things: stubborn, kind hearted, bold and strong willed. It's this last trait that made him an ideal green lantern. When Abin Sur falls to earth, his ring located two ideal candidates to replace him on the west coast of North America: Hal Jordan in Southern California, and Guy Gardner in Vancouver. Since Abin Sur was actually in California, Hal Jordan was the lucky one who gets the ring.

After this near brush with greatness, Guy Gardner's life proceeds much as normal. He continues his work as an educational assistant, finally feeling a great personal sense of fulfillment. The ring passes him over once more, making John Stewart a lantern before him. Guy Gardner was always capable of being a hero, but he was always passed over in favour of other candidates. This might be why he sometimes seems a little bitter toward the first two green lanterns.

But eventually, Guy Gardner does get his ring. When an alien spaceship being hunted by the Green Lanterns crash lands in Vancouver, Guy Gardner ends up being recruited to stop it when the Green Lantern on the case dies in combat. And with the help of the Justice League Canada, Guy Gardner manages to send the alien scout ship fleeing for their homeworld. (I'll probably do something with this story. Maybe 40 issues later, the aliens return for a big story arc)?

After this, Guy Gardner has to learn to balance being an educational assistant with also being a Green Lantern and a member of the Justice League Canada. He manages to make it work, but it puts a significant strain on him. No wonder he acts so abrasive when he's a hero, it's taking time away from one of the few things in his life he enjoyed doing (working with those kids). He often chafes under the authority of the lanterns and the league, but he's still one of the bravest men you'll ever know.

I’m making an AU thing/toyline for Trigger/Decker cause i felt that GUTS-Select could've been MUCH better imo Here’s what I’ve written down so far for this AU/toy project

ULTRAMAN TRIGGER: new gen Tiga

GUTS-Raptor Black and Gold jet based off of Guts Wing 2 and GUTS DIG! Can turn into a walker mecha that’s a cross between Guntank and Getter 3, can combine with the Guts Falcon to become the Guts Thunderbird, is mainly used for underground travel and is equipped with Dual Drills and a giant laser cannon (images provided below)

LigaDessei Based off of Ligatron from Tiga, can transform into a giant battleship like Nursedessei and can split into 3 different ships for easier travel and to combine with the Nursedessei into a larger warship, either Guts Raptor or Guts Hawk can be stored in battleship mode or all 3 guts ship can be stored under the giant warship combo

ULTRAMAN DECKER: New Gen Dyna

GUTS-Eagle A blue jet based off of the guts Eagle beta, is able to combine with both Guts falcon and Guts Hawk to become the GUTS Phoenix mega jet, the subterranean Robo GS-Lovemos, and the super robot MG5-III, is equipped with a sword and spacium cannon taken from the destroyed TerraPhaser, can combine with Guts Raptor and Guts Condor for a super form

GUTS-Condor A orange blue and silver jet based off of the Conolly 7 and GUTS MARINE, has giant crusher claws and turbines for Aerial flight, has A form similar to GUTS hawk’s “Dragon” mode. can combine with the Guts Raptor to become GUTS Rok! A excavating robot for underwater or space missions (looks like the Kajuseijin from Betterman, both Raptor and Condor can become a new super form for MG5-III or all guts jets can become a giant bird/dragon hybrid jet known as the GUTS GARUDA

TERRAPHASER NEOS a new terraphaser that's somewhat more akin to the original Deathfacer and the Prometheus ship from Dyna, T-NEOS is piloted by Hane2 and can transform from either robot mode to battleship mode, can combine with Nursedessei and LigaDessei into either a Gigantic battleship akin to the Arial Base from Gaia that can store all GUTS-Select ships or (tentatively) a humanoid robot

Anna’s the name (29/F) and I’m your friendly neighborhood internet weirdo!!

- I love to hang out with my friends and simping over fictional characters, may it be here or on Discord. I’m also enjoying shitposts of all kind, the weirder and louder, the better. 

- My Husbandos are one of my biggest hyperfixations. I don’t have actually a “type”; anyone can end up as a Husbando, it goes from the animes from the 80s to 90s, over video games of all kind, even to cartoons meant for preschool kids (more about that later)!

- I’m trying to curate my own internet experience, so I'm not really fond of hanging out in fandoms and communities. I also tend to be really picky when it comes to follow people back, so please don’t be dissappointed if I don’t follow you back, no hard feelings.

- I will absolutely not engage into discourse about everything that happens IRL and online, but if I do, I pack out my popcorn and laugh about the bitchfights with my friends. Boundaries!

- I tend to get very uncomfortable looking at ships involving many of my Husbandos (that’s one of many reasons why I don’t hang out in communities). Sharing many of them with other selfshippers (with a very few exception) is also difficult for me!

1969-71 Continental Mark III

Iacocca’s Lincoln: The Inside Story of the 1969-71 Continental Mark III

Lee Iacocca is remembered as the father of the Ford Mustang and the Chrysler Minivan, but there was another Iacocca vehicle that changed the Motor City: the Lincoln Continental Mark III. 

In auto industry lore, the design studio guys hate it when the people from upper management start fooling around with their work. Nothing good can come from that, or so the story goes. But there’s at least one instance that cuts against the grain of that familiar Motor City tale. It was Ford senior executive Lee Iacocca who originated the two signature styling features of the Lincoln Continental Mark III: the classic stand-up grille and the faux tire bustle in the deck lid.

It’s no exaggeration to note that these visual features created a design theme and defined the Lincoln Mark Series brand for decades. Years later, lead designer L. David Ash would recall that neither he nor Styling VP Gene Bordinat had conceived these two now-famous design gadgets; no, in fact it was all Iacocca. “Neither one of us would have done it on our own, I’m sure,” Ash remembered. “I have to give Lee credit for that.”

As vice president of the Ford Motor Company’s car and truck group—top product boss, among other duties—Lido Anthony “Lee” Iacocca had at least two problems on his plate in the autumn of 1965. First, sales of the Ford Thunderbird had flattened out after a promising start years earlier. Meanwhile, Ford’s flagship Lincoln division wasn’t setting the world on fire, either. While the Elwood Engel-designed 1961 Lincoln was a style maker of the decade, it was nearing the end of its product cycle. Actually, Lincoln was a perennial problem for Ford senior management. According to Bordinat, it had never turned an actual profit since Henry and Edsel Ford acquired the company from the Lelands in 1922.

So a plan was hatched to build a new, small Lincoln on the same platform as the Thunderbird, which was switching to body-on-frame construction for 1967 (in part due to limited production volume). This would help the Thunderbird fill out production capacity at the Wixom, Michigan plant, and it would give Lincoln an entry in the rapidly expanding personal-luxury category, joining the Buick Riviera, Cadillac Eldorado, Olds Toronado, et alia.

The original body design by Ash and his staff, at one point named the Lancelot, was clean and elegant but lacked visual punch, one could argue. Iacocca’s fake-Rolls grille shell and spare-tire bump fixed that, creating a distinctive and memorable look. It was said that the chrome grille shell was the most expensive such piece in the industry, with a unit cost nearing $200. Ash and crew completed the theme by hiking up the rear quarters and deck lid two inches, scrunching the roof down into the body for a classic ’30s profile.

From its exterior appearance, you might never know that the finished design shared its greenhouse with the Thunderbird coupe, or its floorpan, black metal, and 117.2-inch wheelbase with the T-Bird four-door. When Henry Ford II saw the clay model in the studio, he reportedly said, “I’d like to drive that home.” With the Ford family’s seal of approval secured, the new car was christened the Continental Mark III, establishing its lineage with Edsel Ford’s original 1939 Continental and the Continental Mark II of 1956-57. At that point the previous Mark III, IV and V models of 1958-60 were conveniently forgotten—today it would be called a reboot.

Introduced in April 1968 as a 1969 model, technically (Lincoln division downplayed model year designations, trying to present the car as “timeless”) the Mark III was panned by the critics but embraced by the car-buying public. “The buffs may not like it but the people with money will,” Bordinat wisely predicted. The Mark wasn’t big for an American luxury car at just over 216 inches long and 4,800 lbs, but it was big enough, with solid road manners and a comfortable ride. Interior specialist Herman Brunn covered the seats with rich, pre-creased leather, like the easy chairs in a men’s club. Noteworthy technical features included an all-new 460 CID V8 and Sure-Track, an early form of antilock braking developed by Kelsey-Hayes.

With a base price of $6,758 compared to $4,807 for its Thunderbird cousin, the Mark III was quite a moneymaker for the Motor Company, spawning an even more popular and profitable successor, the Mark IV (shown with Iacocca below). The Mark series, which comfortably outsold the Eldorado and effectively doubled the Lincoln division’s volume at times, continued on all the way to 1998 and the Mark VIII, and Iacocca would to on to further glories, including the Chrysler Minivan.
